Spy x Family vol.1 by Tatsuya Endo

You can practically hear the music. No, I haven't seen the anime, but this manga is already giving off spy movie vibes. I'm loving it.

I'm loving the juxtaposition of Twilight|Loid as this calculating, smooth spy - with endless disguises and perfect emotional distance - and then he gets the mission.

The one that will break it or make it.

Marry and have a child.

Well, not really, but-!

His reactions are absolutely delightful through this whole volume and the way he has to learn to unwind a bit, not be so inflexible with himself and others. The way his heart foes get stirred by both his new child and his new wife - in different ways of course.

Next we have the Thorn Princess|Yor, who I at first thought was using that space-cadet persona as a mask - but it turns out she really is like that, and honestly, I like that even more. The office lady is an assassin and the assassin is an office lady and that's wonderful.

Her honest belief in Loid is vary charming and though he sometimes finds it baffling he is charmed by her - especially when going gets rough and she shows off her assassin skills, she is pretty darn amazing and his delight at that is pretty obvious.

Then we have Anya, the cute little menace who thinks her new 'fake' parents are the coolest thing since EVER. Naturally she has the advantage of being a telepath and knowing their every secret thought. However, just because she can hear people's thoughts doesn't mean she knows what to do with or about what she hears. She is still a little girl and it shows.

She quickly manages to win over both of her new parents who are absolutely ready to murder a man for her by the end of volume 1 and I'm all about that.

I'm really looking forward to development of this small family.

Now for some reading commentary I typed while reading this so you can see me freak out:

Spy movie vibes, music in the background.

Poor Karen, though maybe not if she's like the crime boss's daughter XD I guess we'll never find out - she's just another sacrifice for the mission.

I wonder if this is going to be all comedy or if we'll delve into the politics of this conflict.

'You will marry and have a child' *spews coffee* HACK! COUGH!

'I have seven days to make a child?!' he yells in the train - spy everyone - lol

I wonder how long you'll be able to 'play' father before you actually become a father

Little Anya is literally cheating by reading his mind :p

I'm looking forward to seeing you eat your words. I don't like bad parents in fiction (or reality) so I'm looking forward to a turn-around that I'm expecting will happen.

Papa is the biggest liar and a cool one at that. He'll also get you a castle if there's one on sale. - I'm looking forward to this sentence being a running gag.

He helped her study and exhausted himself - and now they're snuggled up on the couch. So sweet <3 except he's a spy and hair-trigger so he woke up.

OH NO! THEY NEED A MOMMY ASAP!

Honestly Franky looks cute, but maybe doesn't suit Twilight's image as a spouse, hmm.

Omg...Yor is a space cadet - tho I know it's a front, but it's still cute.

Moving in and then prepping for interview - I kinda feel bad for Loid with how much he plans and then has his plans fall to shambles because he's not working solo and basically has to rely on other people's skills.

None of the 'refinement' is actually suited for them - but I bet it'll be useful later - somehow surprisingly, because rule of funny. I love how they just squared up to help an old lady, they are so cute ;o;

OMG the selection process is cutthroat - and Yor's 'no I idea what I'm doing, so I'll just follow Loid's lead' and Anya saluting a bald man - fantastic

Loid, omg, the gutter rescue, you're amazing - and so cool

OMG the housemaster is ...so over-the-top - hilarious

SxF 96 Analysis: Some Small Details About the Reveal

Ok, hear me out. I haven't even read the manga for Spy x Family (yet); I've only watched seasons 1 and 2 of the anime, but I've somehow stumbled upon spoilers for the last two chapters (ch. 95 and ch. 96), and other small bits here and there.

And since I am not totally caught up on the story, I hesitate to call this a proper analysis since I'm mostly going off of what I know from the anime at this point. But!

I've been following the chatter and excitement following chapter 96 and I just wanted to throw this quick analysis out there, since I haven't seen some of these details mentioned yet.

So, I'm going to focus on this particular moment, just for what it is. Down the line, after catching up and having all of the character and story details, I might revisit this scene again with additional insight.

Of course, I'm sure we've all seen this panel at this point.

At first glance, this panel is beautifully drawn. You can tell that it was drawn with a lot of care and attention to detail. Typically, such manga panels are used to emphasize the fact that this is an important moment for these characters and/or the story.

There are even bits of confetti(?) flying around them, reminiscent of cherry blossom petals; this is another known technique used in manga to indicate the emotional importance of a scene for the characters featured.

That all feels pretty obvious, I'm sure. But I also wanted to point out other small details given here, which could potentially add another layer to this scene for folks.

I've seen a lot of discussion around how Anya's admission here is a big deal (and it is). But I haven't seen anyone mention the small detail here that she whispers, "I can read people's minds."

I believe that is also why we see that speech bubble transparently -- to visually show us the softness of her voice in that moment (in addition to representing Anya's willingness to be transparent about herself).

However, let's consider the conversation up until this moment. Right before, Damian had jokingly asked her, "How did you know about my dog and the pond, anyway? What, did you read my mind or something?!"

Of course, he was not expecting Anya to say, "Yes". But it's not the fact that Anya said, "Yes" that makes this scene impactful. Anya could have easily said the exact same words, at normal volume, with a smirk on her face, and nobody would think twice about it. Damian would have immediately understood that she was teasing him. And anyone overhearing their conversation would have thought the exact same thing.

But that isn't what happened. Because Anya was serious in that moment. With a genuine expression on her face, she says, "Yes" and then she whispers her secret to him.

And that is what shocks Damian. That is what causes him to freeze.

In that moment, he's able to sense her sincerity and hear the truth in her words.

His gut reaction is to believe her, whether it's because it's Anya or because of how she said it. It isn't until he has a second to think and his brain kicks into gear that he starts to notice the disparity between what he knows to be true and what Anya is telling him. In a split second, he questions this, and then ultimately rejects the notion that she could be telling the truth.

Why?

The obvious answer would be that what she's told him does not line up with what he knows to be true of reality. The rational and logical part of his brain overrides his heart and his gut, ultimately recognizing this disparity and forcing him to reject Anya's claims.

However, they are at a young enough age that it wouldn't be uncommon to easily believe in "impossible" things like magic or superpowers. So, there's also a chance that it goes a bit deeper than this.

Perhaps this sudden display of sincerity and truth from Anya didn't line up with her typical behavior with him. He's not used to seeing that side of her, and as a result, his mind resorts to him thinking that she's lying to him. He thinks that she's just teasing him. Not only because that's what he expects from her, but also because the only other alternative would be for him to admit that they've just shared a true moment of openness and transparency between them.

Anya's whisper implies, "this is only for you to know." As a defense mechanism, Damian's brain decided that it was more likely that Anya was teasing him than it was that she was being vulnerable with him in that way.

Another detail from this moment stems from the fact that this reveal takes place while they are dancing together. Partner dancing is an activity that requires cooperation and teamwork. At first, we see Damian and Anya struggle with getting the hang of it, but eventually they start working together.

That, in itself, seems to be a fairly good representation of their relationship with each other. However, even more so, it follows the flow of their conversation in this moment. It isn't until they start cooperating that they start to open up to one another.

And the pinnacle of the conversation -- the reveal -- happens at the exact moment when Damian dips her. Not only does this make for a picturesque panel, but it is also a symbolic visual of what's happening.

Dipping your dance partner inherently requires a level of trust. The person being dipped has to literally put themselves in their partner's hands. Depending on the dip, they are giving up varying levels of control and safety over to their partner. They have to trust that their partner won't drop them, or bring them too close to the floor; they have to give up their balance and trust that their partner can hold the weight that they're giving up. And their partner takes on the responsibility and burden of that person's trust (as well as trusting that the person that they're dipping does not throw themselves around carelessly).

And here, in this scene, despite the bickering we see Anya and Damian do, we see that there is at least that small amount of trust between them. Anya trusts Damian to dip her, and Damian trusts Anya to be dipped.

But underneath the surface level, the fact that Anya whispers her secret to Damian while he's dipping her reinforces the idea that she trusts him with that knowledge. In that moment, she gave up some of her own control and safety, and placed it in Damian's hands. Only his. Her whisper implies, "this is only for you to know." And he's been given the responsibility and burden of deciding whether to hold it, or drop it.

Thread #YorWeek2024 #YorWeek - Day 1: Past 🧵

Yor's past is one of the many elements that any anime/manga consumer wants to know. So far it is known that she and her younger brother, Yuri, grew up in the east of Nielsberg, in Ostania. After losing her parents in the war when they were young, Yor took on the role of her mother and began raising Yuri herself.

At some point, The Garden discovered her, trained her, and she became the Thorn Princess we know, but...what else is there about her?

In the most recent chapters of the manga, specifically chapters 90 and 91, emphasis was placed on how Yor thinks about the loneliness Anya could experience by not having grandparents.

This makes us see that she never knew her grandparents either, but she deprives herself of feeling sadness for “something she never had.”

The next part is in chapter 91, where he gives a very moving speech about what happened in the war with the children, also confirming that their parents died there.

As an extra piece of information, this was heard by Loid, something that was revealed to us in the extras of volume 13.

These latest mentions of his past have been interesting because they have been quite close. It is also in an arc that is linked to the incorporation of new characters into the work and the mention of the war from another angle.

I can feel that this is just the preparation for something bigger.

I realized it's been about 1-year since I joined the SxF fandom! I first watched the anime in early October 2022 when cour 2 of season 1 started airing. I loved it so much that I immediately binged the manga...and things just kept going from there 😁 So thought I'd celebrate by taking updated photos of the merch I've amassed during that time!

Here are the three shelves of my display case where I keep most of my figures.

Their brown outfits and winter outfits in the front row are probably my favorites ❤ Though I do love Bond with the vest on the upper shelf too!

I like how the reading Forgers acrylic figures look in the shelf. The additional drawer and book stack pieces really make it look like they're all sitting reading together! (also like that Loid has a globe and Yor has a typewriter)

These large acrylic figures came with a cardboard background that just manages to fit in the shelf! So far I've had enough space in the other shelves so I don't have to squeeze additional figures in this shelf...but that probably won't last long 😅

Below is a full view of the display case.

And here's my pin and keychain collection that's currently attached to the panel of my Ita backpack. I tend to buy these in box sets since I hate blind bags, so I'm guaranteed to get one of each. I have a few more hanging elsewhere, like on my actual keys, lol.

Here's my collection of card game accessories! I play a few TCGs (like Weiss Schwarz and Osica) so I can always find use for card sleeves and deck boxes. Will put a lot of this to use when I get a case of SxF Weiss Schwarz cards early next year! The card mat (by CatCrossing) is one of my favorite pieces of SxF fan art 😊

I'm not gonna post photos of my SxF Weiss and Osica cards since there's way too many, but I did post photos of some of them previously here and here.

All my SxF books - every JP manga volume, the three anime art books, the exhibition pamphlet, and the JP and EN versions of the manga fanbook.

And lastly, a few extra figures on my work desk (I work from home, though I would still decorate my desk even if I was in an office 😆)

I do have a few more things like plushies, posters, clear files, etc, but I didn't want to take too many photos...just thought I'd focus on the main bulk of my collection! Between season 2, the movie, and who knows what else, I'm afraid to see what my collection will look like next year!

Spy X Family X Chairs Vol 1 - 2 - 3

I don't know if many know it, but if something caught my attention from the covers of each volume of the manga, it represents a character sitting on a chair. I think that for many readers it is evident that Endo loves keys, codes and references. And since I am the type of person who loves to do analysis and theories, my mind could not help wanting to investigate more on the subject.I clarify that these theories, analyzes and solutions are made from my point of view, and I am not clear how canon they are regarding Endo. With that said, I hope you enjoy it.

I want to be brief with this historical review, but: The years after the Second World War, architects, like all sectors, received a harsh impact, so it became common to look for other work alternatives in the industrial area. Many focused on industrial chair design Why is it curious? Because in SxF the biggest main theme is the consequences the war has had on society, and on the lives of its charismatic characters. Although it is a subtle detail, but very important. Each chair represents a character and aspects of his personality. But the design of these chairs also emerged as an alternative to the war, and each one has a very interesting concept. I invite your own curiosity to investigate a little more on the subject!!!

Vol 1 · Twilight - LC2

Cushion/Cube Chair (1928) Designed by Le Corbusier with the collaboration of Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand

A personal fact is that I am a great follower of Le Corbusier. One of the most transcendental architects. And the reason why I opened this post. The instant I recognized this chair, my mind began to want to further investigate the background behind these covers.

For Le Corbusier, regardless of the time, the attitude or the person, a suitable piece of furniture must be used. The objective of this design and its morphology is to keep the user "always active" at work. The furniture must have a practical and functional response. Being able to be placed anywhere, occupying the smallest space. Said object must be provided with ornamentation, and on the other hand it must generate interest and have mastery of aesthetics. Generating an intellectual order through proportion, generating interest in the cultured man. A design understood as a system, since we can find it in one, two and three bodies, without modifying its aesthetic, technological and functional essence.

Reminds you of someone?

Oh yes it is! To the best spy in the Westalis! Clearly the practical, efficient, adaptable design that meets the needs of the average man and the cultured man. Like any good workaholic, he stays active all the time, alert to any threat. Someone elegant, but simple. Adding those small but obvious details of the life of a spy: newspaper, bullets, binoculars, etc. Everything in this chair represents very well the structure with which Twilight thinks when working, highlighting his more serious side. Obviously, LC2 is the perfect chair to define Twilight as the efficient spy that he is.

Vol 2 ·Anya Forger - Marshmallow sofa

The designers of this wonder are Irving Harper and George Nelson

The circular cushions allude to candies or marshmallows, as their name indicates. They say that they are so comfortable that you could take a short nap on them. A very striking and dynamic creation because of the way it seems that the "candies" are floating around. It stated that "Although this sofa was not built specifically for children, it was my impression that children intuitively understand my intentions of inducing movement through the sofa." It is not only seen as a piece of furniture, but also of art.

This sofa is WAKU-WAKU!

It may be that the childish and colorful design becomes something obvious and the relationship that he has with Anya. This sofa can be conceived in a childish way. The dynamic colors and constant movement match Anya's active, playful but curious and witty personality.

I don't know if this is "over analyzing" but the fact that these cushions of sensation that are levitating I associate it with Anya's powers. That magical, ethereal touch reminds me of the way her telepathy works.

Eccentric, colorful, ingenious, and with colors as sweet and tender as our little Anya. The 007 experiment found its ideal sofa!

Vol 3 · Thorn Princess - La Chaise

A sculpture made chair, Charles and Ray Eames

Behind this particular design, there is a background element: Based on a sculpture called Floating Figure, it represented a woman. "Designed to support the figure as if it were the very air that caresses Gaston Lachaise's sculpture". Its organic and light shape has the objective of enveloping the female figure, in any position in which it is recharged. For art critics: Gaston Lachaise's Floating Figure, "has no sense of weight or mass, but only the qualities of serenity, strength, and exalted femininity." La chaise played an important role in the fight for modern sculpture to be recognized as a major art form, as opposed to war memorials and portraits.

A perfect altar for our beautiful Yor

It is interesting how this chair has a direct connection with a female sculpture, but also with war. It was sought that the art was more relevant and not only the symbols of war.

These two elements play in an interesting way with respect to Yor. First, it is the character that clearly represents feminine beauty, as a figure of contemplation. But also, it represents an act against the war, which could be associated with Yor and her fight to protect "the peaceful life" of those she love.

Yor is an elite soldier, a legend among assassins, and a symbol of love for Yuri and Anya. Because they are under her protection, giving a beautiful smile and comforting them in the face of danger.

The subtle and organic shape of the chair perfectly matches all the moves Thron Princess makes during her battles.

It is evident that Endo dedicated himself to finding the perfect chair for each character.

Spy x Family volume 9 had sold more than 31,000 copies in a week. Also, Jujutsu Kaisen volume 19 is at 5th with almost 23,000 copies sold.

Another funny SpyFamily-Translation-Thing-I-Don't-Know-If-Anyone-Mentioned-It-Yet, this time from a german reader: The english TL for the currency in SxF is "dalc", which I always thought was weird until I got the physical volumes in german (bc my mom also wants to read, and she only knows german). In german, the currency is called "dark" and it's like my third eye opened. During the East-West conflict in germany post-WW2 until 1999, the currency in West- and later unified Germany was called 1/2

Ohhh, once again the subtlety hiding in the translations surprises me, this was a genius one right there. Fitting whatever way you`re looking, loved it.

So, after reading manga chapter 5 of Spy x Family, I soon found out some facts about the story behind the anime. Therefore, if anyone don't know much of the anime's story, it's ok, I'll show you guys some interesting facts of Spy x Family no.1

How did I find this fact? Well, while reading the manga, I came across some extra pages of the manga in chapter 5. Since I read both mangas in Vietnamese and English, so I'll share the link to find much easier if you can't find the manga online. Just click the name :))

It is true that Anya has an ability to read ppl's and animals' mind, so in the comic, she was trying to read the contents of the candy box to find out what toy is inside the box. She wanted a bear toy, but it turned out didn't work because the contents didn't have a mind to read, so she had a what-we-call a peanut toy with the sus smiling face

So, according to the file, we dont know his real name, though I heard some rumors that Loid is his real name??? It hasn't been confirmed by the creator, all we know that his codename is Twilight and some other info. Actually, i dunno that that he wears black underpants!?

Inspirations of Spy x Family

Some info of Tatsuya Endo, the creator of Spy x Family

So I found this one in the Vietnamese manga, the inspiration of the anime, here's the translation:

"Hello everyone, thankyou very much for spending your time reading all of Volume 1. Currently, we are having some secret project with other secret charaters so we will probably start making manga for a while. And SPY FAMILY (the correct way to call the story's name) will be one of our projects we are interested in.

This manga is inspired from Germany's situation after World War II. At that time, Germany is devided into 2 different countries: East Germany and West Germany, with the border is the Berlin Wall.

The capital of East Germany is WEST BERLIN, while that of West Germany is EAST BERLIN (this point is very important, because in the story, the main characters' family (the Forgers) is currently living in the city named WEST BERLINT in OSTANIA - the country in the EAST)

Therefore, this manga has used many details relating to Germany at that time. For example:

The city Berlin when put into the story is changed to Berlint.

Mark (the currency used in Germany before changed into Euro) when put into the story is changed to Dark.

The political context (the politics) of the East and West is shown pretty clear

etc."

The final paragraph, I don't have to translate that to you because it is not necessary because the translator above is Vietnamese and he/she was saying that during the translating, they will add some notes about the story and prevent the discontinuing coherence in the story.

i now have volumes 1-9 of sxf, i feel so accomplished

Not even gonna deny it- I read this the first time and said: “There’s manga about sound effects???”

Then I realized sxf is Spy x Family and felt silly ahznnwnsnsnsn

Anywho- let’s gooooo! 🤩🤩🤩 As you should, friend! I’m glad you’re able to collect the current volumes! Though I’m a digital manga collector myself, there’s no denying the appeal of having a physical set of manga displayed on the shelf! 🥰🥰🥰

album review: spy x family cour 1 soundtrack -- (K)NoW_NAME !!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE SPY X FAMILY !! the soundtrack isn't as good as kimi no na wa and assassination classroom but it's still really memorable! most are quite short (>2 mins)

ALBUM RATING: 8/10

initial thoughts

can't wait for this ost and to hear the funny recorder music whenever anya does something HAHAH

i recommend watching the show before reading this, or listening to the soundtrack while reading! this has 45 tracks so it'll be a LONG one

some mild spoilers follow

tracklist

not typing all of them out here because there is. a lot. go check the full album (1h30mins) on youtube or Spotify/apple music !!

track 1: STRIX

starting off with the spy theme!! actually it's more like the superhero theme from the incredibles, but these are just repeated a lot HAHAH

kind of iconic but not the best of the best, i feel like I've heard it a lot but at least they switched up some of the parts nearing the end

track 2: WISE

same spy theme! just introducing one of the main characters, loid

track 3: transient calm

i really like this track name, it matches the vibes! not too interesting, just background music

track 4: liar

the more funny version of the spy theme is here! it matches the comedy of sxf and is a recurring theme for the more funny parts in this series :)

really memorable, 7/10

track 5: disguise

the guitar strums and how they are placed on different sides of my earphones are cool! I'm glad they went to this amount of detail for a soundtrack :)

(yeah i know charlie puth did the same with left and right but i don't exactly support him rn )

track 6: plan b

the funny spy theme! just at a faster pace, and towards the end more intense and focused, like they are executing a plan (hence the title HAHA)

7/10! these are all great but not very outstanding

track 7: crisis of my home

the funny spy theme on it's own!! with the funny out-of-tune recorder like in the shittyflute version of titanic LMAOO

i love this, it was what got me interested in the soundtrack (i was like: i really want to hear the recorder part!)

8/10, really conveys the theme AND enhances it, making it so much more funny

track 8: girl's pastime

another similar funny theme, i love this one too! it's more light-hearted :)

i like the sudden serious part that becomes some light strings? that seem to convey a ?? feeling, like: hmm i wonder what will happen if i do this! what about this? oh no.

i tend to like funny memorable things, 8/10

track 9: subject 007

sad version of the funny spy theme, i think this is about loid's backstory :(

sad but lighthearted, but not too memorable

track 10: front line

reminds me of ambulances and police invasions! the music really conveys the tension and can be used for any movie that requires this scene

track 11: elusive man

creepy vibes, would fit squid game well! a bit too quiet for my liking because the rest of the album is loud, but it would fit as a background track. i don't think they adjusted the volume for the official release

track 12: without tears

quiet, not too sad. a lot of this soundtrack is sad though, im not sure why as the anime is mostly lighthearted and funny

the haunting vocals and metal screeches towards the end are really interesting. pretty long track (~4 mins)

track 13: ponder

the hotel lobby music, typical jazz. questioning undertones and yeah would be good background music when thinking of something

5/10 not my fav

track 14: thorn princess

really like the melody but there's too much quiet. or maybe my volume is too low

5/10, would give it a higher rating if there were more music

track 15: delusion

sounds foreboding and dark, the knife sounds and creepy vocals put an edge to it! can be used in other movies/series too

context: he was acting as a spy in anya's favourite spy show! the lengths a father goes for his daughter LMAOO 💗💗

track 16: verge of a setback

the same funny spy theme, ending slightly more sadly? i cant really hear the difference

track 17: strange marriage

really upbeat and a good variation from the theme!! the little beats in the background are quite cute, with a good ending

track 18: housework

really conveys the little family having fun around the house, and anya messing things up when she tries to help HAHA

track 19: berlint

another jazzy piece!! starts off with the classic cruella de vil motif HAHA, continuing through the piece and mixing with the spy theme

track 20: gorgeous step

i like this jazz piece, feels classy

track 21: try again

jazz that makes it feel like the wrong answer sound effect HAHAHS

5/10, not too interesting

track 22: looks like a nice family

really sweet piece, it was a cute part in the show! the family together and happy, even though they may be "fake"

7/10, the music made that part more coherentthe immediate tracks after this are sad.

track 23: teacups

why is this so sad holy shit. i don't even know which part of the show this is for but it almost makes me want to cry: the piano, starry background

10/10, it's so emotional

track 24: little by little

another sad song following a similar theme to teacups, but slower :(

8/10, emotional songs hit me

track 25: sunset

i really like the title HAHAH

same sad theme as the previous 2 tracks, but this one is more hopeful! after a pretty sunset, another day begins

track 26: very elegant

elegant!!! a school theme, probably the tracks following this will sound similar too since it's about anya entering Eden (her school)

reminds me of the Great Hall in harry potter

track 27: eden college

slightly more magical and "wow!!" i didn't know eden was a college, the kids are 6 yrs old whatt

track 28: cecile hall

following the school theme again

this is a really sweet and grand piece, but it doesn't have much sentimental value to me

track 29: housemaster

kinda cute! the repeated theme that sounds similar to ballet music (swan lake maybe) is quite amusing, why is it used to describe the housemasters HAHAS

maybe because they are elegant :)

track 30: precocious

interesting chinese traditional instruments :o

5/10, not very memorable

track 31: second son

is this damian's theme ? hmm

5/10cool anya to get through the next few tracks

track 32: twilight

wow mysterious and brooding. interesting but i don't associate it with twilight a lot, just danger in general

track 33: state security service

damn they make it sound so bad-ass, was it this intimidating in the show? really sets the scene!

track 34: questioning

me with my sexuality/romantic orientation. ANYWAYS

interesting, but it's more "something bad is going to happen, but what?" type of questioning than the more funny kind in track 13

track 35: crack down

these tracks are all creepy themed. i don't have much to say, just,, intimidating

track 36: commence

the return of the spy theme! but more grand and bad-ass. that's a lot of quiet

track 37: NEXT MISSION

the recurring intermission between mission tracks

track 38: no one knows

love this! the flutes and beats give a tiptoe-ing around vibe, we are back to the more lighthearted themes of earlier

9/10!!

track 39: forever and ever

so grand!! it sounds so swooning idk how to describe, it warms my heart :)

i hope the family stays together forever aaa

slighty more than 2/3th through the album break!

the loving way anya looks at loid (out of frame) is exactly what the song portrays ^^

track 40: as a mother. as a wife

another yor soundtrack slayy

really motherly and nurturing, the repeated melody an octave higher sounds like a child copying what their mother does 😭😭

track 41: small daily life

another sad one helpp

im a sucker for emotional things

10/10, the bubbling/swelling of strings really gets me and i love the sweet-sour melody that makes it sad 🧼🧼

track 42: snake in the grass

started off slow but picked up the pace and became really fun! i don't think an actual snake in the grass would be so happy but okay HAHAHS

track 43: the forgers

CUTE. the waltzy feels, like the family is strolling along together! all of them have secret "powers" but they don't know yet HAHAHS

track 44: bondman

i love this it's so iconic!! the spy theme and funny theme mixed, a more fun track 👽👽

track 45: TBD

a track with lyrics!!! pronunciation is a bit off but emotions are there so that's great ! i'm surprised they wanted to do an english song LMAOO i didn't know it was english at first

i don't really understand the lyrics but it's a good spy song, fit the scene very well

love the melody!

best theme -- the sad theme in teacups/little by little/sunset

this one was the most recurring one that i liked :)

it's sad and sentimental, really touching

separating the tracks into categories

now you know which to listen to for different moods 😏

sad: tracks 23-25, 41

main theme: tracks 1, 2, 4, 36, 37, 44, 45

funny: tracks 6-9, 16, 19, 44

dark: tracks 10, 11, 15, 32-35

jazz/waltz: tracks 19-21, 43

school: tracks 26-29, 31

cut off at 8/10! i love the sad tracks, and the more iconic/funny/lighthearted ones 🧡 the more bad-ass tracks aren't for me HAHHAS. overall, this album gets a solid 8/10
