Day 2 of Laundry Day sketches. Yesterday I spent the entire day just drying my comforter, so today its actual clothes.

I read up until #36 of the Looney Tunes comics. Also I caught a coyote eating my neighbors Garbage. Wile E is now my Dog, Buckys, Nemesis.

Im hoping I remember all the names of the toons, I'm not sure I'll remember that one long eared Dogs name.

Hi, Roxy! It's been sooo long since I haven't sent you an ask so I thought why not change that!🙃 I'm back to bother you bestie with another Looney Tunes question. What are the LTs' favorite books and why? (write for as many as you like😊)

Bugs - He doesn't get much time to read, but when he does he prefers fantasy things like Terry Pratchett as well as horror like Stephen King. He likes 'Carrie' and 'Christine' especially.

Porky - The 'Wooster and Jeeves' series by P.G.Wodehouse. He finds them funny and well-written and also envies Wodehouse's talent with words. He's sometimes tried to say the dialogue in his room, but - much to his frustration - can never get through it due to his stammer.

Petunia - Alice In Wonderland by Lewis Carrol. She likes the fantasy element and the morals and harbours a soft spot for the Walrus and The Carpenter. When Disney did the adaption, she was the one who insisted on dragging the rest of the LT's along to see it.

Elmer - 'Grimm's Fairy Tales' and fairy tales in general. He likes seeing how they've changed from the originals to what Disney decide to do with them. His favourite Fairy Tale is the original 'Three Little Pigs.' He's also an Agatha Christie and Sherlock Holmes fan.

Pepe - Probably to no one's surprise - 'Romeo and Juliet' by Shakespear. He loves the tragedy of it and finds the idea of young love separated to be 'tragic'. Penelope says that's rather the point.

Penelope - 'Rebecca' by Daphne Du Maurier. She considers it the perfect mix of romance and mystery. She particularly likes the 'portrait-dress' scene and likes imagining herself in the dress.

Wile.E - Not that he'd admit it to ANYONE [except Roadie] but he likes Winnie The Pooh. It calms him down and makes him feel like a child again.

Roadrunner - He likes the 'Asterix' series. He finds them hilarious and clever and likes the puns.

Jr - 'The curious incident of the dog in the night time' by Mark Hadden. He felt he could sympathise with the protagonist and indeed the parents as well. It did make him cry.

Happy late birthday, Peg-Leg Pete, or actually Pete!

On February 15, 1925, as part of Alice Comedies and in the classic short called "Alice Solves the Puzzle", by the animators Ub Iwerks and Walt Disney, the first animated character appears within the Disney studio, which will also be the oldest Disney character ever . It's called Peg-Leg Pete or Pete for short. First he was a bear, then Steamboat Willie became a cat and the greatest archenemy of Mickey Mouse and his friends.

He often appears in classic shorts and clashes with Julius the cat, Oswald the rabbit and finally with Mickey Mouse. The comic strip "Mickey Mouse In Death Valley" published in 1930 by Floyd Gottfredson and Walt Disney first features Pete as well as Mickey, Minnie, Horace, Clarabelle, Sylvester Shyster and others. Later, Pete experienced great fame during the 1930s and early 1940s appearing as the nemesis of Mickey, Donald and Goofy. He also often kidnaps Minnie, Mickey's girlfriend, before. He is usually depicted as a thief, but in certain cases he is depicted as a boxer, a millionaire, a general, a pirate, a king, a terrible warlord, and other occupations. Billy Bletcher portrayed him best, later Will Ryan and Jim Cummings. In addition to the classic shorts, he is often featured in comics, mostly with his sidekick and partner Scuttle. In the Italian comics he is in love with Trudy Van Tubb, while in Goof Troop he is a manager and used car salesman and has his own family and is in love with his wife Peg. He has a son Pete Junior as well as a daughter Pistol, while in the Italian comics he has two nephews, Pierino and Pieretto. Depending on both animation and comics as well as video games, Pete is portrayed in different ways, but mostly he is an antagonist and a rival, as well as a villain. And yes, he's called Peg-Leg Pete, because one leg goes on one crutch.

To me, he is one of the best villains in the classic Disney universe, as well as the best characters, and now as always, the depiction of him through images of development and different interpretations through cartoons, video games and comics. Happy 99th birthday Pete and sorry for the delay!

Twig Liveblog for Arc 15

great arc!!!! it all felt so french, somehow, very may '68, with feckless anarchists and student rebellions. sy even starts smoking!!!!!! that was probably my favorite part, sy nervously smoking more and more. i'm beginning to understand how everyone around him finds him so irresistibly attractive...

speaking of: jessie and sy are literally TOO CUTE!! jessie explaining how she likes trains, sy and jessie sleeping with their heads on each other, and then a little peck on the cheek 🥺 they are so perfect for each other! the interlude is probably one of my favorites so far. god that line about how she didn't know jealousy until that episode with lillian killed me. the discussion of "anchors" is so fascinating--and heartbreaking when we realize that the central anchor for all her memories is sylvester. she is cursed/blessed to recount in perfect painstaking detail every encounter, every little instance of neglect. she reroutes every new experience through the complex web of memory, and it feels so agonizing to have even this small exposure to that. every new happiness is tinged with the pain of nostalgia.

there's some kind of parallel between jessie/sy and fray/avis, i think. people who can, by virtue of being victims of fucked up biotechnology, only find solace in one another. the phantom amalgam-fray joining evette was another standout moment--the not-quite-sisters.

fray continues to be enigmatic. her motivations, plans, and pathology are all so murky. does she really have a scheme lurking in the background that she doesn't need to be there for? how will this circumvent the sore-loserdom she describes? (very excited to learn, by the way, that the infante is one of the people who gets to personally condemn whole cities.) sy's long discussion with fray wherein he details how he felt like a dog for the academy was so good.

fray is so fucking cool!! it's crazy that she gives mauer a run for his money in terms of being a badass rebel leader. dolores the octopus 😍😍😍

sad to narrowly miss the lambs :( i hope they can still meet up sometime soon! i want to know what's going on with them too, like for instance if mary and lillian have kissed yet.

final predictions!!!!! (or embarrassing myself for your amusement):

fray is probably right to be more cautious than sy wrt fighting the crown, and sy's recklessness will lead to some unspeakable catastrophe

this catastrophe will probably involve some plan to disseminate the nobles' big secret that backfires horrifically

the plague will be what ultimately does the crown in--too thematically appropriate to have eruptive, spontaneous life triumph over the crown and academy's regime of biocontrol

the duke and the lambs will unite to try and defeat the infante, but will lose

the king will be larger than the infante

sy and jessie will kiss a lot and make love and get married and find some way to have children and name them all sylvester junior or jessie junior and live happily ever after forever :)
