Ok ok, but consider - Ghost being Simons symbiote.

I know that people like to make him Johnny's symbiote in Venom!AU but it's so much better this way???

They're (Ghost & Simon) together for several years and consider themselves more as two personalities of one being than two separate entities at this point (they're total bros, would and did die for each other).

They're still in military (normal mwii setting), sym!Ghost is as much part of his secret as lack of photo at his documents and is known by even less people, Price being one of few.

Ghost may or may not be part of reason why Simon Riley is legally considered dead.

They always work alone so no one can learn their secret and now they're supposed to work with someone.

This Someone being equivalent of fucking sun. He shouldn't be so handsome. Or so easy to talk to. Or get their type of humor. Or become so important part of their life at all this quickly. They shouldn't become so possessive protective of him, they shouldn't-

And now there's a problem. Because they're in love quite fond of him. And despite their social skills equal to five grader they're quite sure that their feeling are reciprocated no, Price didn't have to smack their head and literally spell it out for them after fourth month of pinning, not at all.

But even with those mad skills they can tell that their Situation is definitely not Normal and Socially Acceptable.

So they want to be with him but can't bring themselves to not tell him about Them if they ever tried for real, but are quite sure that he wouldn't ever accept them whole as one being.

But, as it appears, they don't have to worry - you wouldn't be able to find bigger monsterfucker than Johnny in military, even if you tried.

I think the portrayal of Spider-Man 2099 in Across the Spider-Verse is in-character in that aside from like Shattered Dimensions he's always been portrayed as a bit of an asshole who slips into anti-hero territory at times and generally has a "needs of the many over the needs of the few" mindset and given his specific circumstances in the movie it's not unreasonable to think he could take the actions he does. However it does kinda suck that since like 99% of moviegoers had no idea who he was before the movie came out their first impression of him is when he's in an antagonistic role and people think "antagonist" and "villain" are synonyms so now I'm gonna have to listen to people who've never read a comic saying he's a villain or isn't a real Spider-Man for the rest of time or at least until he inevitably changes his mind in the third one.

I personally don't think that an offensive Saria represents a bad end, but rather a good end, where she stops relying on only herself, and trusts that after all this time that the people she's trying to protect can actually protect themselves, that she's not the only one wanting to correct the mistakes they made with Rhine. That she doesn't *have* to be the lone shield protecting everyone.

It would depend on the context of the alter then, either she goes bersek, either she learns from it

But an entirely offensive one, like a DPS Guard? That feels too stubborn even if it's that she realized she can trust the ones she cares about, Saria is naturally someone who is strategical and always think in battle rather than throwing hands without thoughts

Something like another kind of Defender (Dualist for exemple) or a Supporter/Specialist would, I think, fit way better for that kind of scenario. Something that would allow her to have a synergy and gives buff/boosts to other operators, maybe just Rhine Lab operators. She doesn't have to be the only one to protect everyone, yes, but she doesn't have to fight alone neither! The best possibility would be if she can have a perfect niche along other Rhine Lab operators

Going back to how in the Insomniac universe, Martha and Billy left Curt after the first Lizard incident, at least according to what Peter heard had happened - assuming Peter is correct about the timing, it's an interesting throwback, even if unintentional, to how in ASM #6, when Curt realizes he can't reverse the transformation, he tells Martha via a letter to take Billy and leave; and given how much the Insomniac version of Curt is very close in spirit to his 616 counterpart, I like to think that as depressing as it is for him, he agrees with Martha's decision to take their son and leave him, and conversely, she doesn't hate him for what he did accidentally and would go back if it was safe to do so.
