pairings : big sister!shuri x fem!reader x big brother!t'challa
warnings : ooc characters(?).
authors note : this is not a ship fanfic. everything is completely platonic, just pure sibling relationship<3.
Tumblr media
GROWING UP !
— you were only 2 years younger than shuri, so of course, it wasn't difficult for you two to get along.
— compared to your sister, you didn't have very strong ambitions. But even so, you were taught how to rule a nation by your mother when you were younger, and when you were prepared enough, she took you to train to be a Dora Milaje member.
— you were a fairly calm and obedient child back then, and even since you grew into a fine woman.
— you didn't have an interest in fighting whatsoever, but it did cross your mind that you'd end up needing the skills to fight. But you didn't complain and go against your mother.
— there weren't that much things that interested you as a kid. Your sister and brother often picked on you(playfully) for it.
— shuri even tried to get you to be interested in her ambitions, saying that it's 'fun' and 'an opportunity to learn something new'.
— you weren't adventurous, smart like shuri, nor would you be strong like t-challa. Sometimes, as you grew older, you think if you could've done something more than just train to be in an elite group. But despite those, something sparked inside you and motivated you to be the strongest amongst all the members of the Dora Milaje.
BONDING WITH SHURI !
some big brother t'challa scenes<3
— it's awfully loud when there's two of you in the same room. Like seriously, it's just filled with Shuri laughing at your jokes. Everyone sees you as 'the calmer one of the siblings' but boy.. when you're with those 'siblings' its like someone released a whole mammal out their cage.
— despite not understanding half she's saying, you still go visit shuri in her lab to keep her company. She's just yapping to you about what she's doing, while you just nodded, pretending like you understood what the hell she's saying.
•   "(name)? Are you listening or no?"
•   "I am. But I don't understand."
•   "It's fine, at least you're listening."
— whenever her brother is doing something, or is busy, you'd be the one training her some fighting abilities. You aren't as skilled like your brother, goodness no, he's the black panther for Pete's sake, but you are strong. Somewhat.
— shuri always supports and cheers for you whenever you're about to go to your training. Boy, the proudness she felt when she was told that you were slowly beginning to be more skilled the passing days. She's not lying, Okoye said it herself.
— tackles you in hugs almost everytime she's overly enthusiastic to see you.
•   "Stop that. You act like our rooms aren't next to eachother."
•   "I missed you!"
•   "we see eachother everyday!"
— okay but listen to this. The over protectiveness that randomly summoned inside her when she heard that you were getting marriage proposals.
"atrocious!" You and your mother deadpanned at her reaction, side eyeing eachother blankly. "(name), whatever you must do, do not even look at those proposals, okay?!"
— yeah it was a wild experience.
— besides that, shuri is a great sister. She loves you but literally acts like she's the youngest. Seriously, you mightve heard that she's older and you're younger, but when you see these two and know the personally, you'll end up doubting yourself.
— even your own brother said it himself.
•   "Shuri, stop clinging onto your sister like a wild monkey climbing up a tree."
•   "What?"
•   "brother said to stop climbing me like you're a monkey."
— ooh, have I mentioned that you're a great dancer? If not, you're a very great dancer! Dora Milaje members are probably all great dancers if you must say so yourself.
— growing up, shuri was probably your favorite person who ever walked the soil of earth. And then your brother follows right behind her, and then your parents, and then—
— when it's the three of you combined, it's like the whole definition of the word 'chaos'. In the end of the day, T'challa is tired as hell, Shuri went to drain more of her energy in her lab work, and you? Already fell asleep.
— despite being a whole menace the three of you were, mama Ramonda and papa T'chaka were proud of what you three have achieved.
Tumblr media
i am very tired<\3 still figuring out my layouts for headcanon posts, so this one is kind of messy rnn. this is also my first time writing about sibling relationships, especially in readers pov so I'm sorry if it's cringey oml😭

Perfect Fit Part 3
Pairing: Wanda x Natasha x reader
Summary: Y/N is the new member joining the Avengers that came from a top-secret program in SHIELD that she was in all her life. Now that she has joined the team, she is experiencing life for the first time. She has caught the eye of the two most powerful women on the team.
Word Count: ~1.6K
Part 1 Part 2 Part 4 Part 5
“Y/N, come on, the party is about to start, and that means drinks should be in use already,” Carol says through Y/N’s door. Y/N laughs at opens the door to Carol, who is wearing black leather pants and a black leather jacket. She is wearing a worn rock band shirt on, and she looks very hot.
“You look so hot right now, Carol,” Y/N says shamelessly, looking her up and down. Y/N hasn’t had any action in a long time. Right now, she has her eyes on Wanda and Natasha, but they are in a long-term relationship, so why not try your hand at the all-powerful blonde woman in front of her. Y/N knew she loved powerful women and had no shame in it. Y/N knew it was wrong to think about hooking up with team members and could end badly, but look at all the women she works with. It will be hard not to hook up with all of them. Natasha and Wanda are dating, and everyone thinks Yelena and Kate are dating.
“Thanks, Y/N, you don’t look bad yourself,” Carol says, checking out Y/N. Y/N and Carol just stood there for a second, checking each other. They turn away from each other when they hear a door open, and it is Natasha and Wanda’s door.
“Didn’t yall hear? The party is about to start, so let’s make our way to the living room to start drinking,” Wanda says, then grabs Y/N’s hands to lead her to the living room while Natasha glares at Carol. Y/N didn’t understand what was happening because she was too distracted by Wanda holding her hand. All four ladies entered the living room, and Tony, Bucky, and Thor were already there.
“Ladies! How great to see you guys again! There is a new one here too! My name is Thor, the God of Thunder. What a pleasure meeting you,” Thor says, bowing to Y/N. Y/N bows back at him.
“Nice to meet you, Thor. I heard so much about you,” Y/N says, smiling.
“Well, I hope all good things. I wish I had been here sooner, but I am king, and my people needed me. The good news is that I am here now, and I brought Asgardian booze and Valkyrie,” Thor says. Valkyrie comes busting in the door with two barrels of Asgardian Booze. Y/N lets go of Wanda’s hand that she forgot she was holding to go and help Valkyrie with the barrels.
“Let me help you out there,” Y/N says, trying to take a barrel away.
“Trust me, I can handle-” Valkyrie stopped talking when she saw Y/N.
“Actually, you can take it, pretty lady,” Valkyrie says, winking at Y/N. Y/N takes the barrel quickly and places it on the table with all the other alcohol.
“Better be careful with that, Y/N. That booze will get you drunk with only one sip,” Thor jokingly tells her.
“I bet it is not that strong,” Y/N teases back.
“The last person who said that was Nat, and I drank her under the table before Valkyrie, and I had a buzz with this stuff,” Thor tells her.
“I bet I can handle you guys. I am not a lightweight,” Y/N challenges them.
“Alright, I like this one. How about this? Once everyone gets here, we can open this barrel and see who can drink the most,” Valkyrie says.
“I am in,” Y/N says with her hand out. Thor and Valkyrie all shake on it.
“We will call you when we are about to start,” Thor says and go and talk with Tony.
A few hours go back, and the place is packed with people. The whole team was able to show up, like T-Challa. The drinks are flowing, and everyone is having a great time. Y/N is on the couch with Natasha and Wanda talking.
“And that is how I was able to take down a 6’5, 300-pound man in a padded room with just a pencil,” Y/N finished telling them the story.
“Wow, you seem pretty talented; I can’t wait to see what you can do on a mission. You will be a huge help,” Natasha says, placing her hand on Y/N’s thigh. Y/N looks down at Natasha's hand and tries not to freak out; Thor hops onto the couch to sit with them.
“It is time, Y/N! It is time to see if you can hold your liquor,” Thor says and hands Y/N a cup of booze. Y/N takes a sniff, then chugs the liquid into her cup.
“Mmmm, that was good. Can I have another?” Y/N says, handing back her cup to Thor.
“Oh, this is going to be a good night. Come on, Y/N,” Thor says and gets up from the couch to go to the kitchen with the barrel.
“Looks like I will see you two ladies later because I need to go and drink Thor and Valkyrie under the table,” Y/N says, laughing, going to Thor and Valkyrie. They both watch Y/N walk away from them.
“We are fuck aren’t we,” Wanda says to Natasha, then sipping her drink.
“Oh yeah, we are. No doubt about it,” Natasha says and sipping her drink too.
“Dragoste, I just want you to know that I do love you, and my feelings haven’t changed for you,” Wanda says, a little tipsy.
“Dorogoy, I feel the same way about you. I love you so much and wouldn’t change anything about you. I am confused about why I… I mean, we have a strong attraction toward Y/N,” Nat confesses.
“Me either, but let’s just let her settle into her new life and see if we still feel the same in a few months” Wanda grabbed Natasha's hand and kissed her knuckles.
“Agree, now let’s go watch Y/N get drunk and try to out-drink Gods,” Natasha laughs, and they go and watch Y/N, Thor, and Valkyrie.
Everyone at the party watches all three of them drink. No one thought that Y/N couldn’t hang with Thor and Valkyrie, but she shockingly did. She was going back to back with the drinking duo; yes, she was getting drunk but holding her own. Later in the night, 6 barrels have been through, most strangers have left the compound, and only the team is left. They are all hanging out on the living room couch, winding down for the night.
“Val, I don’t think I can drink anymore. You have to hold down the fort,” Thor says to Valkyrie, then stumbles to sit on the couch but misses and sleeps on the floor.
“Oh no, it looks like Thor is out, and there are two left. I’ll put some money on Y/N,” Tony says, waving his drink around.
“I will say I am... I am… I am very impressed by you, Y/N, for holding your booze well. Thor is out, and I think I am next. Great job because now I found a new drinking buddy,” Valkyrie says, putting down her last drink of the night.
“YESSSS, I win!” Y/N cheers.
“Wait for a second; you still have to finish that last drink to prove to us that you can out-drink them,” Sam says, egging her on more.
“Deal” Y/N stands up with her cup and chugs the last drink with the team cheering her on. Y/N finishes her drink and puts it on the coffee table. Y/N then loses her balance and falls back onto Natasha and Wanda’s laps.
“I am alright! I just want to say that this is the best day ever, and I am happy to be a part of this team. This is my first time letting loose, and it is great. I am happy to make even more memories with you all,” Y/N says, and everyone claps to that.
“Sorry for landing on you two, but I wouldn’t have it any other way to land on the two most beautiful women in the world,” Y/N says drunkenly. Everyone was too drunk to hear what she said, but Natasha and Wanda weren’t.
“Thank you, Y/N, but I think it is time to go to bed for you,” Natasha says, patting Y/N's thigh.
“No! I am having so much fun with my new friends,” Y/N whines and pouts at Natasha.
“Okay I can’t handle her pouting because she is too cute. Dorogoy, deal with this,” Natasha tells Wanda. Wanda gives Natasha a little smirk and looks down at Y/N.
“Dulceata, if you go to bed now, then Nat and I will tuck you in,” Wanda says sweetly.
“I have no idea what you just called me, but it sounded so sexy, and of course, I want to be tucked in by you two,” Y/N says, getting up and running into her room. Everyone turns to watch Y/N run into her room. Wanda and Natasha laugh and explain that she is going to bed now. Natasha and Wanda get up, bid the team goodnight, and head to Y/N’s room. When they get to Y/N’s room, Y/N struggles to remove her pants.
“I need help,” Y/N says, frustrated like a child, and lets out a big huff. Natasha and Wanda look at each other and smile. They go over and help Y/N out of her clothes into some sleeping clothes, tuck her into bed, then give her a goodnight kiss on the forehead.

I'm still a fan even though I was salty
You sat in the palace common room, staring into the eyes of your ex. Okoye sat with her elders from the Border Tribe. This was different to the usual standing stance she normally took next to the king and his throne.
You smirked at her, eyeing her from across the room where you sat next to the throne. Your Aunt, Ramonda, and your cousin King T' Challa sat beside you, as the meeting that you considered ridiculous took place.
You were being reprimanded for something so miniscule, and you thought that it was a bit unreasonable for Okoye to listen to her new side piece and tell the council about what you had done. You knew that you hated that girl the moment Okoye told you that she was dating again.
 All you were doing was marking your territory.
"We understand that Y/n is of royal blood, and therefore there are certain rules that must be abided by that regular civilians would not have to conform to but even with that being taken into consideration, what Y/n has been doing to General Okoye and her partner ,Emwe, is completely unacceptable and needs to be punished."a Border Tribe elder spoke on Okoye's behalf.
You opened your mouth to defend yourself, but T' Challa was quick to stop you from incriminating yourself more than you already had over the past hour.
"I understand that this matter needs to be addressed and prosecuted accordingly but the punishment that you are insisting on is far too harsh. Y/n is going through a lot right now and it has always been our way to hear people out and allow them to heal. I think that making sure that she no longer has contact with the general is essential but too much after that coul-" T'Challa said before being interrupted by you.
"No longer has contact? I didn't even do anything. Last time I checked, wanting to speak with your ex has never been illegal!" You stood up to argue quite loudly. There was no way you were cutting off contact with the one person that you truly loved.
Ramonda pushed you back down, giving you a stern, "Not now." Before one of the other elders pitched in.
"That is true Y/n but we are concerned that you don't really understand the true extent of your communication with her. Okoye has stated on numerous occasions that she is uncomfortable with the amount of 'talking' you want to do with her."
"Has she said that this is what she wants? For me to never talk to her again? Or is it just you all making decisions without her input?"
This started some chatter,  with some unpleasant Wakandan words being spoken by a few people, while Ramonda and T'Challa defended you.
People were talking over each other so you couldn't fully make out every single word said but for the most part it was a lot of "Strange Girl," "Crazy." "evil" coming from the border and mining Tribe's representatives.
"ENOUGH." said T'Challa, causing everyone to stay still, no longer talking.
"As King, and as somebody who can attest to Y/n's character, I am not going to allow her to be punished in the ways that you all want her to be. Unless Okoye states otherwise,no contact and a new assignment is all I am willing to give her." You smiled at the king's words, appreciating him using his status as king to defend you. He rarely ever used it. He did not reciprocate that smile though, looking at you in disappointment.
"Thank you." You mouthed.
The king card didn't fully work though, so you were still required to be a certain distance away from Okoye at all times, but it was better than the jail cell that they threatened you with.
"Y/n, do you agree to these terms?" T' Challa asked, as everyone stared at you. You didn't agree to these terms, as you'd need to move your work to cater to some of the rules stated, but your cousin looked tired and so did your aunt.
You nodded begrudgingly.
"Then let it be so." Ramonda said and the meeting was adjourned.
You stood up, ready to approach Okoye, to speak with her alone, and explain your side of the story. But there was no chance, you were blocked by an entire line of people, and your aunt pulled you towards her immediately.
"Y/n, please. Behave yourself. My son has just put his title on the line for you. At least act like you're going to listen." She said coldly. You didn't want to make her more angry, as you had seen her when she was really angry. It was not a pretty sight. So you took a deep breath, and walked towards the doors of the room to leave and go to your own house.
Hate to see you with some other broad, know you happy
It was only when that girlfriend stealer walked in, that you cracked a bit. You saw her entering the room that Okoye was still in, going towards her to hug her and kiss her, as if you weren't still in the area.
This woman clearly didn't know who you were, if she had the nerve to do all of this in front of you.
The only thing more infuriating about the entire ordeal was seeing Okoye's face light up at the sight of her. Seeing the smile that she only used to give to you, being given to her.
You were angry, that was for sure. How dare she?
Hate to see you happy if I'm not the one driving
You were going to turn, to go and confront the issue head on. For her to not smile even once during that entire meeting in a room with you but to smile as soon as she saw Emwe was unacceptable.
You would have done something about it then and there if it weren't for T'Challa instinctively blocking your view of the two and pulling the arm that his mother wasn't holding, directing you to move away from them. You didn't even realise that you were trying to approach them.
"Y/n, stand down!" He whisper-shouted, not wanting to bring attention to himself.
So you stood down, as T'Challa told his mother to allow the two of you to be alone in a different room so that he could talk to you.
You were taken to your old headquarters. The ones that you used when you were still living at the palace.
You had been forced to leave  whenever Okoye was working there a few months ago but that was quite literally everyday so you had gotten your own place and moved out completely.
It was completely empty now, more like a guest room. You sat down on your bed as T'Challa closed and locked the door.
"Why have you locked the door?" You asked.
"I have a feeling you are not about to like what I have to tell you, and it is best that you can not leave and attempt to attack Okoye or Emwe when I am finished." He said, sitting down next to you.
"Don't say that name in front of me." You winced referring to the girl you nearly attacked.
"Y/n. Although what I said there was partially true, you still need to realise that I am just as concerned if not more about your recent behaviour. It has been a year and you are still like this. I think that in addition to the terms agreed upon, I have no choice but to send you to be based in another country. It is what is best right now." He tried to put his hand on your shoulder, to reassure you, but you shrugged it off.
"Best for me or best for you and your royal position?" You scoffed at him.
"Y/n I risked it all out there today! I am not banishing you or anything similar to that. I am merely telling you that you are not going to heal from this situation here in Wakanda where Okoye is. You need to leave. I'll give you your new work assignment and where you will be stationed,  tomorrow morning and by afternoon you will be on the next quinjet there. I won't argue with you about this."
He stood now, again putting his hand on your shoulder.
"You have to get yourself together. This will be good for you. I really believe so."
You sucked your teeth but didn't force his touch away.
The next morning, you didn't argue when he told you that you'd be going to California to work at its outreach centre ,and you didn't even flinch when you were indeed flown off that afternoon.
You weren't pleased with the new route that your life was being forced to take but your anger was not towards your cousin.
It was to the person who kept denying you love.
As you sat in the quinjet, you smiled thinking about the one thing you were able to do before leaving.
In Wakanda, Okoye was just getting back to her home, where she saw an envelope on her doorstep.
She opened it to see your handwriting on a small sheet of paper.
She read:
My love,
I'm going to America for a while, King's orders. I want you to know that I love you, and I am willing to forgive you for telling your mistress about me.
I.Am.Your.Number.One.
ALWAYS.
Remember that.
I love you, and I will be thinking about you.
Your love, Y/n
You laughed to yourself thinking about the last words you left her.
I'm so mature, I'm so mature, I'm so mature
Tumblr media
Got me a therapist to tell me there's other women
I don't want none, I just want you
"Y/n. You haven't talked about anything in 6 sessions. At some point I will have to report this to the King and tell him that you have not been progressing." Zakolee Maku, your recommended therapist spoke to you as you sat in her patient chair, angrily staring straight ahead.
You turned your head towards her and looked her up and down.
"I'm good, Mrs. Zakolee Maku. I do not need a therapist to help me solve my problems. I don't even have any." You spat out at her, much like you had been for the past half hour.
"I've already stated that just calling me Zakolee is fine and additionally, I am not a therapist, Y/n." She responded, still as calm as ever.
"Except you are a therapist, Mrs. Zakolee Maku." You smiled, enjoying the back and forth between the two of you.
She put her notepad down, something she hadn't done in the 6 different days you'd been forced to travel to this weird loft of an office to have a 'healing session' with her.
They wanted you to believe that this entire thing was just her being a fellow Wakandan in America, helping newcomers cope with this new culture.
You didn't believe a single word of that crap. You knew a therapist when you saw one, and she definitely was one.
You didn't do therapists. As in ever.
"I'm only here on Royal orders, or I will never be allowed back in Wakanda. I am forced to go to your office and talk about how I feel for 2 hours every 5 days. Wouldn't you describe that as someone going to a therapist by the order of the law?" You asked, wanting to see what she could say to defend that.
"Well, yes. But I am not only here to talk about your feelings. I want to know about you."
"What about me?" You asked sceptically.
"I want to know your story? Why are you here? What are the events that led you to being in this place that you seem to hate so much?" She asked , leaning forward to show you her sincere emotion.
You laughed, taking the glass of water that was placed for you, taking a sip through your chuckles.
"Doesn't all of that information come in a file?" You asked. She shook her head.
"I want to hear it from you. The person who can tell me the entire thing from their perspective." She answered.
"Where would we even start? There is so much to tell."
"How much do you remember?" She asked, looking at you curiously.
"I remember it all. I remember every single day since my life started crumbling. So where do you want to start?" You asked.
"How about the beginning." She said,
"Okay." You cleared your throat, willing to share your story.
Tumblr media
You told Zakolee about how you had met Okoye, at Wakanda University, when she was dropping her friend off before the school year started.
She had tripped on your luggage, saying a few curse words as she got back up.
You apologised repeatedly for hurting her, seeing that she had scraped her knee quite badly from the fall. You offered some help cleaning it, having a first aid kit in your room. So she followed you there, and by the end of the hour, the two of you were in your bed naked next to each other.
It didn't take long for the two of you to become a thing, her asking you out a few days later right before leaving for Dora Milaje training.
The two of you travelled to each other's respective places, Okoye constantly complaining about the trip that it took to get to you.
You were so in love, and her love was so good. You thought that you'd be together forever, so what was postponing your tertiary studies for a few years? Just until Okoye was of higher ranking and her life was settled.
She needed your support and school was consuming most of your time, preventing you from giving it to her.
So you dropped out of school, and spent all of your time revolving around her.
You were there to heal her, talk to her, please her.
It was more worth it when she proposed 6 months into the relationship. You were so happy that you finally grew the guts to go back home and announce everything to your family.
Unfortunately, nobody else shared your same enthusiasm, and your family shunned, forbidding you from communicating with them ever again. Saying that they didn't want your delusions of love to affect them.
You ran crying to Okoye that same night, where she comforted you and held you.
She sold you a dream that night to make you feel better.
She told you that as soon as things settled down, she would help you fix things with your family, and you'd be able to go to school again, and get the degree that you really wanted.
She told you stories of your future, and how she'd have so much time for you. How she would give you all the love and affection that you craved from her.
You didn't realise that this was not realistic at the time, so you let yourself ease into her and had a great night with her.
Years went by, Okoye officially becoming the general, and still, you hadn't even gotten married yet.
You'd confront her about it time and time again, demanding to know why she had proposed so soon if she wasn't going to marry you even years after.
She would dismiss you, and tell you that you needed to be patient. So you'd keep quiet for a few more months.
You never got back on good terms with your family, only seeing them when they came to the palace to see Ramonda and her kids. You didn't even go back to school.
Soon, 7 years had passed and there was still nothing.
Your last straw was her telling you that she wasn't sure about the two of you anymore in the heat of an argument.
After 7 years, she had the nerve to tell you that she wasn't sure about you.
You were so mad that you broke it off at that exact moment.
Further on, you loved seeing her beg for you to take her back, receiving gifts from her almost everyday.
That stuck for about 2 years, until it all stopped, and you were left to wonder what in Bast's name was going on.
To your horror, it was another woman. That's when you'd actually started losing it. Sending some rather unsavoury messages and sometimes threats to the both of them.
Tumblr media
As you finished telling her the entire thing, all she did was look at you. Trying to hide her clear shock, but not doing a very good job.
"You think I'm crazy, don't you?" You asked.
"No, I just have a few questions."
"Go ahead."
She looked down at her notepad, because she had picked it back up halfway through the story.
"So you sacrificed your education for her, and got shunned by your family because of it."
You nodded.
"But your file says that you've had a university degree for almost a year now"
You shrugged. "I have, but that's not the point of it all. Were you even listening? It was the 7 years where I couldn't get that degree that still has me upset. It's the years of not talking to my family besides my aunt and her kids that makes me upset. It's the empty promises that never got fulfilled that make me angry."
"So you don't want her back, you just want an apology."
"I've already gotten countless apologies. It hasn't changed my rage. Seeing her with someone just makes me angry."

"But it's been 3 years now. Don't you think that's long enough for her and you to start exploring the dating world again. Especially if you feel like she has paid for her actions. There are many people that could fill the void that she might have left in you, Y/n."
"No! I can't have anyone else. I've tried to date around, but I physically cannot do it. And she does it so effortlessly. Like I was just nothing."
"So you want her back, even though you broke up with her?"
You rolled your eyes at the woman, who clearly wasn't understanding a word that you were saying. So you stood up ready to leave her fancy place. She rushed to stop you,
"Okay, I seem to have made an assumption that has triggered you. I'm sorry. Please just don't go. I think we can work with this. You've been here for a month, and you haven't had any of your past incidents happen so that's a start." She started to flatter you.
"Thank you." You said stubbornly as you went to go and sit back down.
For the rest of the session, you and the 'not therapist' actually started to break a few walls.
You were finally talking, and unlike before, she was listening to you.
3 months later, you were doing extremely well, and you'd finally found the courage to go on a date for the first time in nearly 3 years.
You dressed in your best clothes and drove to the restaurant, but the moment you sat down, there was a growing feeling of unease in your stomach.
This person that sat in front of you, although very beautiful, wasn't Okoye, and that was just something you couldn't handle.
The more you tried to get through the dinner, the more you needed to leave.
"I'm sorry but I can't do this." You said to the woman as you rushed out of there and drove back to your apartment in a complete daze.
You didn't know what was happening until you had already packed your bags, booked a plane ticket back to Wakanda, gone to the airport, and gotten on the plane.
All you could think of the entire journey there was, What were you doing?
Everything was going so good, you had settled into work and you hadn't attempted a stunt like this in months. You were finally starting to feel like you were in control, but suddenly all of that control was given to that one side of you. The one that was so lonely without Okoye.
You got to the border of your home country, the furthest a plane was allowed to enter, and quickly took your bags and left. You were wearing a black cloak that you'd gotten years ago, so that and the night sky prevented the enter village from seeing you.
For the first 15 minutes, you were sure that you were going to go to Okoye's house, maybe to try and do something reckless.
Luckily, your legs led you back to your own home, where you breathed a sigh of relief.
Tumblr media
The next day, you stayed in your house, feeling overwhelmed by the thoughts of the previous day.
You weren't sure what you wanted to do. You had no business even being back in Wakanda, and T'Challa would not be pleased.
As midday kicked in, and you were sharpening some blunt and old weapons, your mind again got the better of you. And the irrational ideas started to form.
If I can't have you, no one should
I might
I might kill my ex
Not the best idea
Her new girlfriend's next
How'd I get here?
How did you get here is what you really wanted to know.
You weren't the murderous type. But the thoughts kept coming.
I might kill my ex
I still love her though
You loved Okoye. You couldn't kill her. But your thoughts and feelings were becoming quite convincing.
Rather be in jail than alone.
It was with this that you decided that you needed to let loose. Grabbing some wine out of a cabinet, you drank straight from the bottle trying to ration with yourself.
It wouldn't be worth it.
I get the sense that it's a lost cause
I get the sense that you might really love her
You thought back to the many times that you'd seen Okoye and Emwe together. How happy she seemed with her there. You could tell that there was real love there.
Would she take you back even if Emwe wasn't in the picture?
What if you weren't good enough for her anymore?
You needed to calm yourself down. So you went on a chat log on your Kimoyo Beads to read a chat that you'd had with her a year ago, when these same thoughts had been looming in your head.
YOU: Okoye. Please stop ignoring me.
OKOYE: Y/n you threatened to kill me! I'd prefer to not speak to you while you are in this scary state.
YOU: I didn't mean it like that. I just want you back, sthandwa.
OKOYE: I'm in a healthy relationship, and I no longer have feelings for you anymore.
YOU: Could you at least pretend that you do. Just until I am over you?
OKOYE: NO. Y/n. Don't ever contact me again.
She had blocked you immediately after this.
These messages calmed you in a sense, because that was proof that you tried.
You had tried to stop, she just needed to play along and you would have been fine. But she wouldn't, so whose fault was it really?
The text gon' be evidence, this text is evidence
I tried to ration with you, no murders or crime of passion
With this, somehow your mind was able to defend wanting to do it. After all, Okoye was living a happy life, without you while you sat at home lonely. So you let your thoughts do as they pleased.
But damn, you was out of reach
You was at the farmers market with your perfect peach
Now I'm in amazement, planning home invasion
Now you laying facedown
Got me saying over a beat
That night, you had a dream. You were at Okoye's house, and she was on the ground, looking up, while you held her spear next to you, listening to the sound of someone else approaching the house.
I'm so mature, I'm so mature, I'm so mature
Tumblr media
After that uneventful night, you ended up going back to California the next day.
You had work, and your head was no longer fully consumed in homicidal thoughts and for a full 3 months, it all went back to normal.
Your routine was work, healing sessions, sleep, repeat.
You still had some crazy thoughts, but you were able to handle them with more rationality.
Got me a therapist to tell me there's other women
I don't want none, I just want you
If I can't have you, no one will, oh
I might kill my ex
Not the best idea
Her new girlfriend's next
How'd I get here?
I might kill my ex
I still love her though
Rather be in jail than alone
From the outside, you actually seemed quite back to normal. And that was exactly what got you an invite back to Wakanda.
After much consideration, the council had decided to give you the choice to come back to Wakanda since you had seemed to have made some tremendous progress.
You accepted, and said a few goodbyes to the people that had been there for you in the States.
As you once again came into Wakanda, now in a quinjet rather than a regular plane, you couldn't help but think of the fact that you had somehow fooled everyone.
You were nowhere near as progressed as they thought you were, even sitting there you were plotting and planning your final masterpiece of destruction.
You had relented to the voice in your head that wanted to go out for blood, and now it had control of the steering wheel of your actions.
You acted normal as people welcomed you back, excited for your arrival, not knowing why you had even been gone.
A dinner for your return was to be held, and there is where you knew you would execute your plan.
Putting on a classy outfit, and following your aunt as she walked you into the event, you smiled and laughed when needed, scoping out the area for the person you really wanted to see.
Off in the distance you saw her, with Emwe, as they chatted happily to each other.
You rolled your eyes at this, not believing that she was still with the one woman you seemed to hate the most.
"Y/n! It's not nice to stare." You turned to see your cousin coming to talk to you again. You tried to act natural, not wanting to make him suspect anything.
"T'Challa! I did not expect to see you tonight. Being the king takes up a lot of your time." You said, going in for a hug, just to keep your nice persona up. As you hugged him he whispered in your ear.
"I always know when you're up to something. I'm just here to stop you from doing it here, Y/n."
And that he did. For the entire night, he watched you with sharp eyes, making it impossible to pull any stunts.
You went through the entire event, never getting the chance to talk to Okoye, but you were completely fine with this, because you had no intention of stopping purely because of your cousin.
You waited until everybody had left, and slowly, you started to follow Okoye back to her house.
You kept a large distance, knowing that her Dora Milaje training would make it easy for her to hear you if you walked too close. Behind you was a dagger that you thought you could use.
When she reached her house, you waited for a few minutes before going to knock on her door.
She opened the door, very surprised to see you.
"Y/n."
"Okoye."
"What are you doing here?" She asked you, hesitating as you pushed yourself into her house.
"I'm here to take what is mine." You declared, closing your eyes to gain the courage to do what you deemed necessary.
As you threw the first dagger right through her torso without warning, she fell to the ground.
But that wasn't enough. You took her spear from her tunic, expanding it and pointing it towards her, as she looked at you, with pleading eyes.
"Y/n are you on something? Why are you doing this?" She asked, barely able to stay conscious. You laughed, smiling at her.
" I did it all for love. I did it all on no drugs. I did all of this sober. I did it all for us, oh. I did it all for love. I did all of this on no drugs. I did all of this sober. Don't you know I did it all for us? " you said as you lodged the spear through her heart.
Connecting your bracelet to hers to see hers turn red, her heart rate took only 2 minutes to completely drop to nothing, as you pulled the spear out of the now dead body.
You had finally done it.
I just killed my ex
You stood up, going to the door, to wait for the person you truly hated
Emwe.
She was on her way, you knew that because she was always nearby.
Not the best idea (idea)
Much like before, you were right. She arrived and you did the same thing to her.
Killed her girlfriend next
Now you had two dead bodies on the ground, staring into the sky.
How'd I get here?
You sat down as you had in your dream, Okoye's spear next to you, as you waited for the voices to show up.
You were definitely screwed, but you had not even one single regret.
T'Challa couldn't fight to fix this, this time. Now it was just your fate, to suffer the consequences of your actions.
You let out one more laugh, slashing and slitting your throat as somebody opened the door.
I just killed my ex
I still love her though (I do)
Rather be in hell than alone
"I love you, Okoye." You croaked, the world turning black.

Author's Note: I finally got my act together and finished this work. It was quite a crazy story but I thoroughly enjoyed writing this. (I'm not crazy I swear)
I'm going to hopefully post one more time before the new year, then I'll be posting as much as I can before I get busy with life again.
Requests are open for both Ramonda and Okoye. Nakia, Aneka and Ayo works will start next year, but you can also request for them too.
I have big plans for the new year. 🤭
I love you all. 💜💖
Have a good last couple of days of 2022.

Will there be any new t challa x reader smut soon
I’m on hiatus until spring, and I only write character x OC fics, not reader inserts. When I come back, I’ll update Menage a Trois Part Deux and maybe put out some oneshots if I can. We’ll see, but I’m currently focused on my original stores instead of fics.

Shuri x plus size reader…
-𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙎𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮
Looking at the director he starts explaining all of what we're supposed to be doing in this clip. "So basically in this part while your holding Toussaint's hand and saying the speech I need you to pull out as much emotion as you can." Nodding my head and giving him the thumbs up I take my place as T grabs my hand and Letitia wraps her arms around my waist.
"1 2 3 go." Walking towards the podium with Letitia and T beside me I make my way behind the microphone before talking. "Hello everyone, first I want to start by thanking everyone for coming." Hearing a wave of hey and hellos I count to three then continue to speak. To build suspense of course. "As you guys may know... we've been put through a lot these past couple of months."
"From T'Challa passing- rest his soul, to the queen's, and to us being attacked... But then there was a rainbow to the storm followed by a new king and me becoming the queen and shuri's wife." Smiling after saying that I feel Letitia kiss my cheek and hold my waist tighter. "But there's one more thing more of a person I have to share." Looking down at T I smile. "And the meeting of my nephew, I call him T but you guys can call him Toussaint."
Watching him wave to the crowd I smile again and hug his side. "Now we did come all the way here to announce that the fundraiser will be starting soon. Have a nice night you guys! Make sure to have fun for me too lol!" Laughing at the lame joke they made me say I walk off the podium with them behind me for the next clip.
Hearing clapping from behind us I turn around to see Damini. Giving him a tight lip smile I nod to Nakia as shuri's grip on me tightened. "So you really put a ring on it huh?" Looking to the side I see Letitia's face turn into a sly smirk. "We had already been married, just finalized it." Watching her shrug her shoulders while finishing off her sentence I internally bit my lip.
Looking back at him as he nods his head he rubs his chin as well. "Jasmine... when your done playing house I would love to take you-." Being pulled away from the conversation I make sure T is in reach as I'm sat down at one of the tables in the far back. "My love?" Watching her clench her jaw I put my hand on her thigh. "Yes jasmine?" "Calm down, he's trying to sweat you. Don't tweak that's what he wants."
Nodding her head and looking around I sigh. "Challa? Why don't you go sit with your mama while me and aunt shuri talks?" Nodding his head with the biggest smile on his face I watch as he walks to Nakia and sit nexts to her. Putting my attention back on shuri who is still a little bothered about the situation. I grab her chin to make her face me as we share intense eye contact.
Biting my lip I kiss her. Feeling her start to kiss me back I pull away before we start fucking on set. "Babe, I don't want you to feel like this all night... Cheer up for me." Watching her frown turn into a smile slowly but surely I smile back. "Next time he plays in my face like that I will personally-." Covering her mouth quickly I bust out laughing. "At the fundraiser babe? Come on just one night."
Nodding her head and laughing with me to I look down at my watch. Hearing them give the signal that we're switching setting I nod and loosen my posture. "Y'all I'm glad there was no more of that because my fucking head is pounding from this heavy ass turban on my head." Hearing all the cast members and movie crew laugh I shrug my shoulders.
"You guys can head home for the night. Good job you guys, see you all Monday." Confused on why we're not doing any shooting on Sunday I don't say anything and just gather my things heading to my trailer with Letitia behind me. Walking into my trailer Letitia closes and locks the door.
"Pookie, you looked so sexy!" Watching her smile at me she pulls me into her by my waist.

“Amani!”
“No Darius please, I’m sorry,” Amani sobbed as she was shaken violently out of her dream.
“Hey, Amani it’s me, entle, it’s me.” T’Challa rocked his girlfriend as tears poured down her face.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry,” Amani wailed as Shuri, Amare, Ada, Okoye, and Queen Mother rushed into the room. “Shuri, Amare, take Ada to the dining room. You all start breakfast without us” Queen Ramonda ordered, helping to quiet the woman in her son’s bed. “Is Mani going to be okay?” Ada fretted as the two young adults led her out of the room. “She’s okay, she just had a bad dream,” Amare reassured, secretly grateful that T’Challa and his family were there to help shoulder the load of Amani’s night terrors. They started after her first rescue from Darius’s crutches and had faded after the older Okeke met T’Challa, but 3 months after the second attack they began terrorizing her sister again.
“Honey, breathe baby, breathe,” Ramonda soothed as her son continued to calm his girlfriend silently with his hand on her back. Almost an hour later, the king was alone once again with his sleeping girlfriend. “Kumkani,” Okoye knocked apologetically. “We are already two hours late, we must leave soon.”
“Where are you going?” Amani whispered. “I have some business in the mountains with the Jabari. I will be back before dinner. I promise.” The king caressed Amani’s cheek as her face visibly fell. “I understand,” she nodded. “I will be back as soon as I can.” The king slid from under her and pressed a kiss to her forehead.
“Do you ever stop and think about how much your life is like coming to America now?” Amare asked her sister as they laid together on her and T’Challa’s bed. “Not really. I mean I guess it is.”
“It totally is, and I’m so happy for you Amani. You are amazing.”
“No, I’m not.” The older sister waved away her sister’s words. “Yes, you are!” Amare rolled onto her side. “You finished raising me. Took me in during your last two years of college. Survived an abusive relationship, a kidnapping, two miscarriages, and you still are able to put a smile on Ada’s face. Everyone’s face. You are extraordinary.” Amare laid back down and took her sister’s hand in her own. “Thanks, kid,” Amani offered a small smile and squeezed her sister’s hand.
“We should get ready for dinner, T’Challa should be back soon,” Amare teased and pulled herself up from bed. “You go ahead,” Amani waved her sister on. “I’ll be there in a second, I’ve gotta use the restroom.”
Amare nodded before heading out of the room.
“My love, are you still in here?” T’Challa knocked on their bedroom door before entering to find it quiet. “Amani?” The king began to panic slightly as he moved through the space before he heard a groan from the bathroom. “Entle?” he pushed open the bathroom door to find the love of his life hunched over the toilet. “Are you alright,” he sat down on the floor and pulled her into his arms.
“I’ve been throwing up all day. I don’t know what’s wrong,” Amani sighed and snuggled into his scent. “Did it start today?”
“No, it's been a few weeks,” Amani mumbled. “Did you take another test?”
“No, I just lost a baby T’Challa, I don’t even want to think about having another one.”
“Amani, there’s no way you could be pregnant with a new baby right now.” T’Challa reminded her with a slight grin on his face. The heiress looked up in fear, “T’Challa you all said that they told you I lost the baby,” Amani sat up from his hold. “They did, but maybe it is worth having a second opinion here in Wakanda.”
“I don’t know T’Challa.”
“I know we don’t want to get our hopes up but it is best to know. Will you at least go for me?”
Amani sighed and nodded. She watched as a grin grew on her lover’s face. He looked so happy and she couldn’t understand why she didn’t want to know if her child was still living. Maybe it was easier to live with its ghost than the responsibility of having to keep it alive for six more months. She was exhausted enough trying to heal herself, she didn’t know if she could handle taking on another person’s baggage.
“My dear, are you alright?” The lunch table went quiet as Amani cleared her throat. “I’m okay, just a little tired.” Amani offered a small smile as Madiyson and Sakura eyed her suspiciously. “When does Marquis arrive?” Amani deflected the conversation back on to Madiyson and her boyfriend’s impending arrival. “He said at 4 this afternoon.” The former waitress smiled. “You think he’s gonna pop the question while you all are away together this weekend?” Shuri teased.
“I don’t know,” Madiyson blushed. “I am just excited to plan a baby shower.” Amani’s best friend smiled and rubbed her small bump. The king glanced at his girlfriend and squeezed her hand. The other occupants of the table looked on in pity as T’Challa leaned over, “Have you heard anything from the doctors?”
Amani fought back the bile in her throat and shook her head quickly. “Please,” she addressed everyone and the other future mother, “It’s okay to talk about babies. I am so excited to be an auntie,” she reassured everyone before glancing back down at her plate. The rest of breakfast went by no easier. Conversations about baby due dates, genders, engagements, and color schemes continued with everyone tiptoeing around the questions on eggshells. By the end of the ordeal, Amani was mentally drained and the family felt like they’d run a marathon of words around everyone’s feelings. Barely holding it together, the heiress quickly excused herself to the gardens to be alone.
Once she felt sure that no one had followed, a sob ripped through her chest. It’d been a week since she’d agreed to get a second opinion in Wakanda, two days since she’d convinced the doctor to let her tell the king, and ten minutes since she’d last lied to T’Challa about having the results. Her heart broke a little more every time she lied, but she wasn’t sure if she wanted to keep this child. It went against everything she’d believed about herself in the past, but quite honestly, the cloud that hung over her day in and day out was large enough to make her question the safety of her child if it stayed with her.
“This was always my favorite spot to cry as well,” Amani looked up embarrassed as Ramonda joined her in the garden. She wiped her face and offered a small smile. “Please, don’t stop on my behalf. I am just here to provide some comfort if I may,” the queen joined the southern girl on the bench. “I don’t know what’s wrong with me,” Amani cracked a few minutes later, tears streaming down her cheeks once more.
Ramonda said nothing but pulled her closer. “It’s just like there’s this dark cloud hanging over me and I just can’t get happy. Like I should be over the moon right now-”
“Why do you think that?” The queen interrupted. “My best friend is having a baby, she could be getting engaged, I’m having a baby-”
“You’re having a baby?”
Amani felt a knife twist in her heart, she’d wanted T’Challa to know first. “I just found out. I wasn’t feeling well so T’Challa arranged for me to get a second opinion and surprise,” She exclaimed half-heartedly.
“But you’re not sure if you want to go through with the pregnancy?”
Amani sighed and shook her head.
“Does T’Challa know?”
She shook her head again, “I want to tell him, but he’s so excited. It would break his heart to hear that I don’t know if I’m going to keep the child.”
“You know, I am hearing a lot about others and very little about how you feel.”
“I just, I don’t know if this baby is safe with me,” Amani admitted reluctantly. “Amani,” the queen turned to look her in both eyes, “Have you been having thoughts about-”
“Please,” the girl begged, “I have but I can’t. Please don’t say that aloud.”
“If you have been thinking about ending your life my dear, we need to talk about it.”
Amani began crying once more, “ It terrifies me. I’ve only felt like this once and I vowed I would never go back there, and here I am and-”
“You do not owe any of us an explanation. There is no way we could imagine what you’ve been through.” Ramonda pulled the young girl in for a hug. “I would like to get you some more help though. Perhaps some that can only be found outside of the castle walls. Just think about it please my dear. As much as I want this grandchild, I want you here safe and sound to raise it.” Ramonda hugged her daughter in love and wiped a stray tear of her own.
A few minutes later she interrupted the comfortable silence that had formed, “Now, make whatever decision feels right for you, but you need to tell the child’s father. My son deserves to know. Not just about the baby, but everything.”She looked into the young woman’s eyes. Amani sighed and nodded. She could no longer avoid the inevitable.
“T’Challa, can I talk to you?” Amani fumbled with her hands upon entering her boyfriend’s office. The moon shone through his large windows and her heart fluttered as he looked up and grinned. Some of the strain of the day melting away as he laid eyes on her for the first time since breakfast this morning. The heiress’s stomach churned after, the feel of acid rising in her throat as the thought of what she was about to admit out loud to her child’s father. The king looked so ethereal, surrounded by the pale glowing halo of the moon. Who was she to deny him the chance to be an amazing father once again? “Amani? Are you alright?” the rich baritone of T’Challa’s voice pulled her back into reality. “Yeah, I’m-,” She couldn’t do this. The prospective royal felt her emotions frantically backpedaling. What’s the worst that could happen? She’d have the baby, T’Challa would continue to love them both and, sure she would probably continue letting him down but she could make him happy at least this one last time.
“My love?” the king called out once more. Worried and intrigued by what was distracting the usually laser-focused woman in front of him. “Huh? Oh, It’s fine. Nevermind. I shouldn’t have come it was stupid.” Amani backtracked and turned to head out of the door. “Hold on,” The king quickly reached out to pull her back to him. “You came all the way down to my office this late at night for something stupid?”
“It’s nothing really,” Amani hid her face knowing that she was a terrible liar when T’Challa was involved. “Okay, come on,” the king pulled her over to his desk and onto his lap. “What’s going on? Did you get the results from the doctor?” T’Challa’s face brightened once again at the prospect of knowing whether or not he should be expecting another child soon. Amani felt her heart tear in two. Tears began streaming down her face before she could stop them. “Oh,” T’Challa’s face fell,” Oh my love come here. It is not over yet okay. We will get through this. We’ll give you time to heal and if you want to, in the future once we’re married and Ada is a little older we can try again-”
Feeling her emotions getting the best of her, the former waitress decided to just blurt it out. “I’m still pregnant.” The king’s face contorted in confusion, waiting for Amani to explain the heart-wrenching sobs that were beginning to hiccup their way out of her throat. He rubbed her back in silence until she calmed slightly under his touch. “You were right, I never lost the baby, but I’m not sure that I still want to have this child T’Challa.”
Even the moon seemed to lean closer to the window as the king let out a low whistle. Amani allowed the silence to linger for a while longer before nervously ushering it along, “Please say something T’Challa.”
The monarch ran a hand over his head before hoisting her back securely on his lap, “What do you want me to say Amani?”
“I don’t know. I mean. I don’t. I’ll just go-” She stood sadness lacing every movement.
“Did I ask you to leave Amani?” The king stopped her.
“Please stop thinking that when things get hard I’ll want to leave or that I want you to leave. I love you and that means I want to know what you are thinking at all times. I want us to talk through this okay?”
The American woman nodded as tears pooled behind her eyes again. “Okay,” she nodded as T’Challa helped her to take a seat on the elevated window seal. Once he joined her he took a moment to study her face. “What’s really going on. You adore children.”
The king wiped the newly emerging tears, remembering how sensitive Nakia was during her pregnancy as well. The slightest thing could set her off crying. Or screaming. Usually crying. “I don’t think this child is safe, T'Challa.”
A fire sizzled across the father’s features, “Darius is dead, and you know I will do anything. Anything to protect you two.”
“I know T’Challa, but it is not an outsider I am afraid of.”
“What do you mean? Has someone here threatened-”
I don’t think this baby is safe from me T’Challa. Lately, I’ve been-” Amani gulped, not ready to admit this out loud again for the second time today. “I have been having visions and daydreams about killing myself T’Challa. I can’t stop them. It’s like I'm doing, well okay at best and then they just appear. Out of nowhere.”
Tears warbled her lower lip as the king grappled with the words that had just left her mouth. “I- I don’t even feel safe from myself and I’m struggling every day to keep myself alive. The thought of adding another person I’m responsible for to the mix. It’s just too much. It’s too much T’Challa.” Amani felt the dam of her emotions crumble and she succumbed to the flood. T’Challa pulled her in close after she let the pain of her secrets flow. He knew that she had not seemed like herself lately, but he presumed it was just post-traumatic stress from her ordeal. He knew he should have pushed harder for her to seek professional help after, but she insisted she just needed time. Now she was here in his office sobbing. Admitting to having thoughts about killing herself and by consequence, their first child. For the first time in a long time, T'Challa Udaku was terrified and he had no idea what to do about it.
He hugged his girlfriend even closer as he thought about the engagement ring that was tucked away in the royal armory. He knew this was not the most appropriate time to think about needing to cancel his plans for them this Thursday but it helped keep him rooted to earth in a moment where he wanted nothing more than to spiral like the woman on his lap. Cancel engagement dinner. Consult with Diyna, head priestess of the temple. Cancel and postpone all meetings tomorrow. Find mother. Scratch that. Get Amani safely to their room and message his mother that they needed to talk as soon as possible. Pray to Bast that Okoye and Mother are not sleeping. He created a mental checklist and sighed. He had a plan of action and all he needed to do now was follow it.
Amani woke up hours later, the moon still making its slow descent across the sky. T’Challa was nowhere to be found even though she knew he’d been there when she fell asleep. Something pressed against her bladder and she sighed, moving to head to the bathroom. Her feet touched the cold stone and she groaned hoping to shuffle quickly to the bathroom and back. As her foot went to take the next step a familiar searing heat electrified her body. Her face twisted in horror as the events from years ago began to repeat themselves. “No, no, no, no please,” she chanted over and over as she sank to the floor. Her steady plea turned into a gut-wrenching wail as her second child passed over to that great beyond without her. With it went the last shreds of her sanity.
It'd been three weeks. The king paced the corridor outside of his daughter’s room. 21 days and he still had not found a way that felt appropriate to comfort his wife. The news of this miscarriage tore him apart more than he could ever begin to show, but Amani had lost it. She insisted it was punishment for having doubts about keeping their miracle baby and no matter who tried to reassure her, she wouldn’t believe anything but that she was responsible. She’d withdrawn from everyone including the monarch who finally decided to knock on Ada’s door. He made his way into the room only to be shushed by Amani, who was rocking the soon to be 6 year old to sleep. “Shh, she’s sleeping,” she crooned, watching as Ada’s chest rose and fell.”
T’Challa walked over squatting before her, heart breaking at the sight, “I know, but I was hoping to talk to you.” Amani tore her eyes from Ada to look at his chest avoiding all eye contact. She hadn’t looked him in the eyes in days. The specialist from the center thought it was a sign of devaluation. She no longer felt she was worthy of T’Challa being her partner. It was the most absurd thing he’d heard in his life. If anything, he owed her the world. “Why?” Amani uttered, turning her gaze back to the sleeping Ada. “I can’t leave the baby,” she reminded and the king nodded, looking at his school-age child in her lap. “Just for a moment,” he waved Okoye into the room. “Okoye will watch her for you.”
A few beats passed before the mother nodded, allowing Ada to be handed over to Okoye. The warrior and T’Challa breathed a sigh of relief as the king was able to lead Amani out of the room and into the hallway. “Did I mess up again?” the woman mumbled once the door was shut, separating them from Ada. “No,” the king reassured, “But I want to get you some help. So you can feel better. You’re tired and barely eating.”
Amani remained silent and the king took it as a sign to continue, “Please think about it.”
He handed over a brochure and the older sister gingerly flipped through it. For the first time in weeks, something other than Ada brought a slight smile to her face. “I thought you might like it.”
“They can help me feel better?”
The king nodded and Amani flipped through the pages once more. “What about the baby, I can’t leave her. She-”
“Will be fine.” The king reassured. “Let me take care of her, I just want you to feel better okay?”
Amani started to shake her head before letting her shoulders sink and she sighed. “Okay.”
“It’s just a month okay?” Amani hugged her little sister who had tears in her eyes. It’d been two days since she had agreed to go to a therapeutic rehabilitation center. Yesterday, T’Challa had called and luckily they still had a spot available for Amani to join them. She couldn’t deny that fear was grating on her nerves, but there was a little ember of hope burning. Maybe soon, she’d feel better than she ever had. The prospect excited her. She squeezed Amare one last time before hugging her two best friends and Ada one last time. She’d already hugged Queen mother and Shuri goodbye as they had agreed to sit in on T’Challa’s meetings so that he could escort his beloved to the center.
“Wait, someone is missing?” Amani froze looking over the people she loved who had gathered to see her off. “You said goodbye to Ada this morning,” Amare sniffled and Amani couldn’t help but pull her into another hug. This was the first time the older sister would be leaving the younger one since their parents had passed. “I know,” the business owner thought back to the tears that had defined her morning as Ada was reluctant to let her go. It had been a miracle T’Challa had convinced her to go to school at all. Though, Amani couldn’t deny that the fact that she would be missed did warm her heart.
“I meant my niece or nephew,” she smiled softly and pulled Madiyson and her prominent baby bump into a hug. Soon, they’ll be here in person for me to meet.”
Everyone looked on slightly in shock, none more so than Madisyon who had avoided showing her friend her bump since the incident a month ago now. “What?” Amani pulled back and blanched, hoping she hadn’t said anything wrong. “Nothing, I- we should get going so we can check in on time.”
Amani nodded and smiled at her family once more before allowing herself to be helped into the car. It’s only for a month,” she sighed as the car pulled away from the curb. Fighting back tears as she watched her family disappear. She hoped this month went by quickly so that she could come home, a stronger person. Ready to embrace all of the new changes that were coming her way. For the first time in months, a full-blown smile graced her features and she squeezed T’Challa’s hand. The world seemed just a bit brighter, even if only for a moment.

King T’challa….your boyfriend. You were dating the king of wakanda. He rocked your world. He was gentle and affectionate. You could rely on him. He made you feel safe and loved. And when he made love to you, you felt like it was only the two of you in the world.
T'challa knew what you liked. Pushing your buttons was easy and fun for him. He smiled as he tied your hands to his headboard. He slowly kissed down your chest. His fingers ran slowly over your soft skin. You shivered in anticipation. “Do you like this?” he growled lowly into your ear. You nodded quickly. “You know I want you to tell me darling. Do you like this?” he asked. His hand massaged your breasts as his mouth attached to your nipple. You moaned from the pleasure. Your back arched off the bed. “Yes sir I like it so much.” you moaned out.
T'challa moans satisfied with your words. “Good girl.” he said between sucking on your nipple. You pulled at your restraints as you felt two of his long fingers slip inside your entrance. You moaned his name as his fingers pumped in and out of you. “That's right, say my name.” he pushed his fingers deeper inside you. They curled and tapped at your g-spot at slow agonizing pace. He was such a tease sometimes.
“Should we use the blindfold now?” he asked looking into your eyes. You knew he was stripping you of the little control you had. Before you could think more he was sliding the soft fabric over your face. “Just let me take care of you.” he said as you felt him moving down your body. He placed tender kisses down your body. Another shiver moved through you as you felt his hands parting your legs. His beard brushed against your inner thigh. More tender kisses were planted on your thighs. You couldn't help but moan his name. He was so close to where you needed him and you couldn't take it, because he wasn't giving you any relief. “Are you getting impatient?” T’challa asked. You could hear the slick smirk in his voice. He was enjoying himself. Enjoying teasing you. You knew he wanted you to beg. But you were holding on. You could tease just as much as he did. You bit down on your lip gripping your restraints. His lips moved closer to your core. He tease you by sucking lightly on your skin. You bit back a moan. He knew the game you were trying to play. And as always he could prove he could play it better
He hummed against your skin. He squeezed your ass. “You know what i want don't you?” he said. You could feel his eyes on you. You nodded slowly. “You want me to make you feel good don't you?” he spoke lowly. Again you nodded. He groaned. “Beg me honey. I'll give you what you want. All you have to do is ask.” his tongue flicked over you clit. A slow moan escaped your lips but you didn't break. T’Challa’s eyebrow raised. Your face told him you were holding on by a thread. How wet you were told him just how much you wanted him. Your grip on the silk restraints showed how much you were holding back. But it was okay. He liked when you challenged him.
He licked between your slick slit. Gripping your thighs as he flicked his tongue up and down, darting it in and out occasionally. You arched your back off the bed. You felt the warmth pull at the bottom of your stomach. He held your legs open, pinned roughly to the bed. His fingers re-entered you. Your thighs quivered. He was relentless and you couldn't handle it. Your moans increased as you neared your orgasm. But he stopped before you could tip over the edge. You whined his name. “You know what i want, Love. Let me hear you and i let you cum over my cock” he spoke dirtily, kissing the lips of your pussy. You moaned in response. He only spoke this filtily when he wanted to turn you on. He teased your clit relentlessly. He sucked on it, not enough to make you cum; but to make you even more wet. You were dripping onto his fingers that teased at your entrance.
You were so close. So sensitive. Your breath hitched in your throat. You tried to form a sentence. Barely able to beg him to fuck you.
He chuckled darkly at how wrecked you were. “Thats it beg me sweetie. Tell me how much you need my cock.” he growled letting his long fingers enter you quickly. His thumb circled your clit. “PLEASE! PLEASE BABY” you broke down. Close to your orgasm.
he removed his fingers. “I knew you’d see it my way.” he said.
You could hear the sound of his zipper and the roughling of his jeans. You bit your lip and shuffled your hips closer to him. “I need you so bad.” You cooed. “You’re so needy love. Were you that close?” he questioned.
You nodded quickly. “Yes sir, Please make me cum.” you moaned out. “You’re so dirty.” he kissed along your collarbone. He slowly entered you, stretching and filling you up slowly. Agonizingly slow. You moaned out loudly. You throw your head back, allowing him to suck hickeys onto your neck. He held your hips firmly, as he slowly moved his hips. He moved with a low growl against your skin.
“Darling, you fit me like a glove. You’re so tight.” he moaned into you ear. He placed his hand onto the headboard thrusting slow and deep into you.
There was a pleasurable burn as he stretched you. He filled every inch of you. He was so deep inside you. Your toes curled and your eyes rolled back. “I’m going to cum!” you screamed out.
T’challa took off your blindfold allowing you to see him. “Good girl cum all over this cock!” his thrusts became more rough. Your orgasm shook your body.
You whined and whimpered.
you were so sensitive as you came down from your high. “Can you keep going love?” you nodded quickly. Knowing you could go a little further. You heard the vibrations, of what you knew was a toy. You clenched around his cock. Just the sound of the toy was turning you on more.
A scream escaped your lips as he placed it on your clit, with a bit of pressure. You gasped and feeling tears darting at your eyes. “one more time baby. Cum for me one more time.” he said as he thrusted roughly inside you. It felt like heaven.
You gave him a frantic moan, pulling down at your restraints.
T’challa removed your restraints, kissing the light bruises on your wrists. You wrapped yourself around him, trapping the toy between your bodies. “I’m close again!” you moaned into his ear. T’challa looked into your eyes. He moved your hair from your face. “I’m so close, honey, lets get there together huh?” he spoke sweetly. You hugged him tightly, screaming from the combination of him stretching you and the abuse on your clit.
It was all you needed to hear. You clenched on around him, tightening as his thrusts became harder. He groaned, holding your hips firmly. He pressed your body into the bed. He was nearly pulling out of you and slamming back in. He moaned into your ear, telling you how gorgeous you were, and how much he needed you.
You rolled your hips to contrast to his thrust.
He nibbled your ear. “Baby, I’m going to cum are you ready?” he asked in what was more of a warning.
His thrusts became harder, sending you into your orgasm. He followed immediately. With loud, hoarse groans.
he held you closely after removing the toy to let you calm down. You caught your breath and shakily said, “I love you.”

Anon requested: Can you do tchalla x short! Badass! Reader? The first time they met at the Avengers quaters? Lots of fluffs. I love your writing!!! A/N: Finally got some inspiration again 😊 If you want to be tagged for certain stories let me know, requests are open and feedback is always appreciated. Wordcount: 1079
Things were finally going back to normal after the civil war, you had been able to reason between Tony and Steve and Tony had been able to clear their names so everybody was now back at the compound. There was only going to be one slight change, the King of Wakanda was coming to visit the compound. You haven’t met the man yet, you didn’t even know if you wanted to meet him but it wasn’t like you had a choice. You were already late for your monthly meeting with the secretary of state, it had been one of the conditions to let the allegations against your friends go.  You rushed down the stairs and had already forgotten about the visitors you were going to have today but not for long. Someone bumped into you as you came rushing down the stairs, luckily he was able to catch you before you hit the floor. The gorgeous smile got you distracted at once.
“To late out of bed once again?” Steve asked, snapping you back to reality The man had let go of you and you straightened your jacked “Maybe.” You laughed a little awkward “I apologize, for bumping into you. I didn’t see you there.” “Funny, because I’m short. I have never heard that one before.” You joked, not really knowing what kind of stance you had to take. “No sincerely, it was an accident.” He held out his hand “I’m T’Challa.” “I know that, just a joke your highness.” You shook his hand  “So I heard you like cats?” “Y/N!” Steve called you out, he didn’t really appreciate the fact that Sam his behaviour started to rub off on you. “Sorry Cap. I’m Y/N your highness, it’s an honour to meet you.”   “The pleasure is all mine. So why the rush?” “Oh shoot.” You looked at your watch, now you were definitely late “I really have to go, the Secretary of State doesn’t like to be kept waiting. Honour to meet you your highness, bye Steve.” Steve shook his head as you quickly made your way to the garage “Sorry about that Y/N can be a little chaotic sometimes.” “I like her already.”
It had been a long day and the rest of the Avengers were out. You were snuggled up with a blanket on the couch, a bag of popcorn and Sleepless in Seattle playing.  Halfway through the movie you heard footsteps, Friday hadn’t told you the others had come back yet or given any alarm of an intruder. Just to be secure you took your gun from the table next to you, pointing it at the door. To your surprise the King you had just met that morning appeared in the door opening. “Is that how you great royalty around here?” He laughed You quickly put the gun down “I’m so sorry your Highness, I didn’t know it was you.” “Please call me T’Challa. I’m not really a fan of those titles.” You nodded in agreement and made space on the couch for him “I thought you were out with the others?” “I didn’t really feel like going out.” He sat down and looked at the screen You talked him through the beginning of the movie so he would be able to catch up with the rest of the movie, offered him some popcorn as you watched the movie in silent. You couldn’t help yourself but to be intrigued by the bracelet and necklace T’challa was wearing and tried to look at the as discrete as you could. “Something wrong?” He questioned noticing the glances you gave him You quickly shook your head “I was just intrigued by your accessories.” You took his hand taking a closer look at his bracelet “Any chance I can take a closer look at this in my lab?” “I unfortunately cannot do that, these weapons have been especially designed for Wakandan warriors.” T’Challa moved your hand from his bracelet. My sister would kill me if I let you tear them apart.” You thought for a moment “How about a deal. Tomorrow I prove I’m just as skilled as a Wakandan warrior and defeat you in a battle, if I win you allow me to take a look at the weapons.” “And if I win?” “I don’t know, you tell me.” He thought about it for a moment “If I win you go out on a  date with me.” His proposition took you by surprise, you had barely talked and he wanted to go out with you “Well?” He questioned “Alright, you got yourself a deal.” The two of you shook hands to seal the deal.
 The next morning you had already been stretching and warming up when the King came walking in. “Are you sure you are ready for this Y/N?” He asked jumping up and down a couple times. You held up your arms in defence ready for the first punch “This is what I do. Don’t make the mistake off underestimating me just because I’m short.”  T’Challa was the first one to throw a punch, one easily blocked by you. You were and Avenger, mostly trained by Steve and Nat making you quit skilled. The punches and kicks you threw almost all hit their target while the punches T’Challa threw were weak, like he was holding back. “Don’t you dare to go easy on me your highness.” You kicked his legs from underneath him, but he got up quickly. “You’re quite the fighter Y/N.” T’Challa remarked It turned out you were right, the fight got more intense and he was actually able to hit you. You dug for the punch he threw before using one of the moves you learned from Natascha to pin him to the ground. “I have been trained by the best.” You already had a smirk stuck on your face, but T’challa wasn’t giving up so fast. The fight continued on the ground, although it turned more into a wrestle match then a fight. Until T’challa finally pinned you to the ground, making it impossible for you to move. “Do you give up?” He grinned  “Never.” You tried to move with all the strength you had left, but it was hopeless. “Okay maybe I do.”  “Good, be ready at Seven.” The King helped you up from the ground before leaving the training room. You didn’t like to lose even in training, but going on a date with a king you could have done worse.

The U-turn
Inspired by the “he’s leaving now, you can come over” trend on tiktok
Bucky x sister!reader (Bucky and the reader don’t live at the compound here)
(and yes the wakandans have their own reality show bc I think that would be so hilarious and entertaining 💀
Also it’s 3am so I’m writing this with half a brain cell working overtime so sorry if it’s bad
Tumblr media
You smiled at the tiktok you were watching of a girl texting her boyfriend “he’s leaving, you can come over now” as he was getting in his car. You watched him glance up at the apartment and funnily run his way back inside.
You immediately had the idea to do the same with your brother.
“Hey y/n/n I’m going over to the compound to pick up some papers for a mission.” Bucky said as he poked his head into your room. You perked up.
“Perfect!” You grinned. Bucky furrowed his brows at you and have you a weird look.
“Perfect?” He echoed. You widened your eyes just a bit.
“No. Nothing. I’m gonna take a nap don’t bother me!” You rushed out, engulfing yourself under the covers. Bucky stared at the lump on the bed for a second more before leaving.
“Okay... I’m be back in an hour.” He said hesitantly, suspiciously closing the door. You snickered to yourself once he left, running to your window and watching him until he left the driveway. You made a dramatic evil laugh to entertain yourself and skipped over to the living room to watch an episode of Keeping up with the Wakandans. You wanted to wait a bit until he was farther from home to make it that much miserable for him.
“Move. Or you will be moved.”
Okoye: Ayo asked me to move. I was so taken aback and offended. So offended in fact, that I had to restrain myself from reaching for my vibranium spear.
Ayo: Okoye was in my way. I asked her to get out of the way as politely as I could. I don’t know what else she could want from me. But if you don’t like the way I say it, don’t get in my way.
Tumblr media
If you lay a little finger on me, I will make sure to wrap you up in a nice little package and send you as a snack to M’Baku’s children
Okoye: Clearly she is upset because we still haven’t opened a Starbucks in Wakanda. But we have more important things to take care of other than coffee. But I don’t see how she could be offended over my response. We wakandans are honorable people. We do not lie, nor belittle ourselves for the sake of other’s emotions. So as you can see, what I said to her was straight from the heart!
T’ challa: I don’t know where all this conflict started between them. That’s all I have to say. Can I go now?
Shuri: it’s great!! Okoye and Ayo keep acting out the scripts that I give them, you record them, and we get the money! It’s my most entertaining and innovative idea I’ve come up with so far. And I’ve come up with some incredible things!!
You were invested in the show that you almost forgot about the prank. Snapping out of it, you grabbed your phone and clicked on buck’s contact. After typing out the message, you hit send with a mischievous grin. You didn’t know what to expect but it was exciting sobre it’s been a while since you’ve really messed with your brother.
Bucky was halfway to the compound when he heard his phone bing. The notification sound let him know that it came from you, so he opened it to see what you needed, holding up the phone so he would still see the road.
He’s gone, you can come over now baby :)
His eyes comically widened in terror, not being able to take his eyes off that last word.
Baby.
In an instant, he slammed the brakes, eliciting a stream of honks from the cars behind him that almost slammed into him. He couldn’t even pay mind to them as he made a 3 point turn and quickly started driving the opposite way: home. While he drove, he dialed your number on speaker, bouncing his free leg anxiously. The call quickly went to voicemail which made him sit up in shock and anger. He called you again, going straight to voicemail. And again. And again!
You were giggling your head off seeing the screen constantly light up with Bucky’s name on it. You kept quickly hitting deny, just imagining his hilarious state. Soon you found yourself laughing out loud clutching your belly as the calls kept coming and he did not stop! You actually wanted to answer for a split second to hear his reaction personally but decided milk the prank a bit more.
Bucky had never driven so fast in his life. He was mentally thanking Tony for this car since it was able to reach high speeds. He couldn’t get the image out of his head if you having a boyfriend yet. Maybe at 40 years old, no, maybe 50. No- Just to be safe, 80 years old. But not now!! You were WAY too young to be with someone! He was the only man you needed in your life right now. The thought of a boy being in his house right now... alone... with his little sister who’s too innocent for this world?!?!? He was barely even paying attention to the road anymore. It was like he was being driven by a motor, automatically driving down the street, his head flooded with thoughts.
You were satisfied, munching on a bag of chips as you finished your show, when you heard the screech of tires pull up at your house. That’s when it cocked and your stomach dropped. He had come back.
You weren’t really expecting him to come back, let alone be back so fast. You jumped off the couch with a nervous squeal leaving your throat as you went to hide.
Not a second later, Bucky kicked his way in the house. “HEY! WHO’s IN HERE?” He boomer, putting on his intimidating voice. He stomped all over the house, searching for the boy. And you. “Y/N!”
“Y/N”
“Y/N!!”
You were in the closet upstairs, your eyes wide open in shock. He sounded serious. Maybe you should have picked a different prank. Still, you couldn’t help but find the situation hilarious.
“HEY! COME OUT! NOW. Y/N I SWEAR TO GOD IF YOU HAVE A BOY IN HERE!!” You heard him from downstairs, throwing your head back as you laughed as quietly as you could. You heard him stomp his way upstairs and you quickly covered your mouth. “IF THERES A BOY IN HERE, HE BETTER COME OUT NOW. BECAUSE IF I HAVE TO WAIT ANOTHER MINUTE, I JUST MIGHT SWITCH!!” He growled. You gasped to yourself in surprise when he said that. You knew he wasn’t capable of switching another thanks to Shuri, but it was still so funny to hear him say that.
Having enough of this, Bucky stood perfectly still, closing his eyes and focusing on what he heard. He felt his superheating adjusting and zoning into all the sounds he could hear. Cars from outside. Wind blowing. A/C air circulating. Clock ticking. Light bulb hum. Giggles.
He opened his eyes and without moving a muscle his eyes followed to the closet door. He picked up light muffled giggling. Had to be you. He quickly rushed over and yanked the door open, making you scream. He grabbed your arm and pulled you up and out. “Where is he.” He huffed, letting you go and looking all around your room and you watched him with laughter.
“Where’s who?” You giggled, crossing your arms. He didn’t look at you, but you saw his eyes dulled in annoyance.
“Don’t play with me y/n. I got a message from you that was supposed to be for your little boyfriend. You sent it to me instead.” You growled.
“Whahat message?” You shrugged, playing dumb knowing it got on his nerves more. Finally he looked at you with an expression that told you he was done, and started to walk towards you. You burst into nervous giggles and ran across to the other side of the room to dodge him.
“Where is he.” He asked again. “I’m serious Y/n. Where’s the boy.” He began to look more hurt and sad than furious now. You decided that it was enough messing around and tell him the truth before he got sad.
“There’s no boy, Buck. I was just playing.” You said in a light voice, throwing your head back and rolling your eyes. His face stayed the same. He didn’t believe you. “Really!”
“I got the text, y/n.” He deadpanned.
“I know, I did it on purpose, dummy! It was a prank!” You laughed. Bucky’s jaw dropped as his eyes Dulles again.
“So you made me come alllll the way back home... all the way back!... for nothing?? After I needed to get some oh so very important papers from a place almost an hour away, you make me turn back after I was half way there... for a prank??!?” Bucky stressed, raising his brows at you. You had to bite back your giggles but it wasn’t working too good. You raised your hands in defense.
“Hehey, in my defense, I didn’t think you were gonna actually come back here!” You shrugged sheepishly.
“Well if you send a text like that then decline every call I send your way, YEAH IM GONNA COME BACK!” He exclaimed, making a beeline towards you. You run out the door with a squeal, giggling loudly as you ran from your brother who was hot on your heels. You couldn’t deny that as scared and nervous you were, you were having so much fun messing with Bucky.
You ran downstairs and tried getting to the kitchen island but before you could get there, Bucky caught you. He grabbed you from behind and lifted you up, wasting no time in mercilessly digging his fingers into the middle of your belly, ignoring your loud hysterical laughter. “NAHAHAHAHAHA!! BUHUCKY STAHAHAHAP!!” You arched your back against him but that only pushed your belly more into his hands, making you try to flop around like a fish. He carried You over to the couch, sitting down with you in his lap. You quickly tried to roll off from him but he grabbed your arm and lifted it over your head, blowing a big raspberry on your ribs. You yelped and flinched hardly at the ticklish feeling, kicking your legs out to distract you from it.
“I’m really enjoying my payback by the way. Very satisfying. And it’s almost making the trip back here worth it” He hummed, hooking his arm under your neck to nuzzle his stubble into it, making playful nomming noises. You screamed, trying to scrunch up your neck. He knew his stubble always killed you. “BUCKYHYHYHY!!” You pushed at his chest. You managed to slip out of his arms for a moment but only made it a couple of feet before he caught you again with a chortle. “Ohohoho! Where do you think you’re goin? We just started!” He smirked, grabbing you by your legs and holding you halfway upside down.
“NohohohooooOOO!” You cried, protesting as he was only holding you on one side while using his metal hand to tase his finger in your belly button, grinning at your hysterical cackles. It amused him how you’d try to “ab crunch” your way up to stop him but were too weak with laughter to sit up very long. “Awww, don’t like a wittle tickle? Hm?” He teased in a baby voice, bending over with you still in his arms and rubbing his face all over your belly and mumbling the same things.
“NAHAAAAHA!! SORRYYYY IM SOHOHORRY BUCKYHYHY!!” That drove you crazy, finally making your laughter turn silent as all you could do was silently slap at his head. Bucky giggled at your hysterical reaction.
“Oh, you’re not sorry, you’re just sorry you got caught!” He laughed, pausing to give you a minute to breathe. “And cause you want me to stop!” He sang with raised eyebrows, starting to dance his fingers at random places on your belly and sides to keep you guessing, eliciting a new stream of giggles out of you.
“NohohoHOOO PLEHEhease!! Buhucky dohohont! Ihihit tickles!!” You laughed, trying to block his fingers as best you could. Bucky chortled and shook his head, momentarily setting you on your feet before quickly lifting you by your sides and throwing you in the air, blowing a big raspberry on your belly each time he caught you. Butterflies swarmed your stomach at the feeling, lagging your heart out.
“Who’s the tickle monster??” He teased, throwing you up and tickling you again and again. “Huh?”
You could hardly even think anymore, the only thing going through your head was how much it tickled. All you could do was laugh and hiccup. Bucky could tell you were out of it, laughing along with you. With a few hiccups You about about to let out an exhausted “You!” before he finally stopped.
With a chuckle he carried you on his hip to your room before playfully throwing you into your bed from the doorway. You squeal as you landed on the mattress and giggled, getting under the covers for a nap while he walked to your bedside. “Jerk.” You mumbled sticking your tongue out at him.
Bucky quickly scratched under your chin to make you flinch and scrunch your neck up, effectively making you close your mouth. You whined in annoyance that you couldn’t get the last laugh and slapped his hand away. “Take a nap, Trouble. We’re going to Steve’s later to watch the game.” You gasped as you perked up. He immediately raised a finger. “Ah!! To watch the game. Not to play around with Steve. I wasn’t even gonna bring you cause I know you’d hog him all up trying to get him to entertain you. You spent all day with him yesterday. It’s game time now.” He said, watching as you pouted with narrowed eyes. “But I know if I don’t bring you, you’re gonna be a big baby about it.” He smiled sarcastically.
“Hmph. Fine.” You huffed. “But I get him during commercials and half time.” You smirked. Bucky rolled his eyes.
“Sure.”

Before Abiona Interlude Part 13: Baby Shower Part 2
“ It is hard when they make you the villain,” Tolu said as he offered T’Chaka the glass in his hand. They both watched for a moment as their wives entered a conversation across the garden.
“ He just refused to see where his responsibilities lay. I mean no disrespect to you or your family, but my son will be King one day, he has known since a young age that his loyalty lies with his people first. Their needs come before even his own sometimes.”
“ Well, heavy is the head that wears the crown” Tolu retorted, “ However, I refuse to let my daughter get mixed into whatever his life entails.”
“ I have always been wary of T’Challa pursuing anything with Alixandre, I told him months before a baby was involved. But the boy has decided to throw all caution to the wind, as long as he sees a future with your daughter.”
Tolu stared at the King for a moment, letting his words mull over in his mind.
“ I am also unsure about this budding relationship. But I do know that I admire his dedication to the health and safety of both Alix and the baby. I wish he had been here from the start and on different terms. But he is doing what is right and I believe you should let him do right by his child. The rest we can sort out after.”
“I am not sure we can, I think our children have a plan for their lives that doesn’t look like what I had envisioned for him.”
Tolu took another pause “ We as the fathers may have to take a pause. It is a struggle but as my wife says, it is unfortunately necessary”
With that, he left T’Chaka’s side and rejoined the party as Alix reappeared to open gifts.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As soon as T’Challa left his parents, he followed Alix inside looking for her. He stood at the door watching Alix sitting down catching a few breaths. He almost stopped himself from entering, but his need to comfort her was stronger.
Alix had been sitting with her eyes closed but heard the familiar footsteps that came after her. She quickly put the jewellery box Ramonda had given her under her pillow. She placed her hand back on her bump and closed her eyes just trying to focus on her breathing.
He finally sat next to her on the bed and grabbed her hand as they continued to sit in silence.
“ I am sorry for whatever he said to you, Alix” He could not sit in silence anymore. Alix finally opened her eyes and looked at him.
“ You don’t even know what he said T’Challa”
“ I know that whatever he did say was not what I would have wanted for him to say to you. And whatever he said is not true.” Alix just looked at him as he spoke. T’Challa looked at her waiting for a response.
“ Alixandre, I hope you know how committed I am to you and not just the baby”
“ T’Challa, I think your father raised some points. Unfortunately, he may be right. I am not discrediting anything you have said to me, I am just reminded that we have to approach all of this with caution. Even if you did have your father’s approval, you still come with quite a bit of baggage T’Challa, you have to understand that. ”
Hearing that left him feeling slighted. It already felt like a tug of war to get Alix to even consider any type of relationship with him, and once again his father aimed to be a hindrance to any progress that had happened.
“ I just hope you consider my words before anything he says. Everything we have talked about these past few months, the moments we have shared, I hope those actions speak louder than his moments of intimidation. And again I am sorry for whatever was said today.”
Alix turned to look towards the window when the sound of the party caught her attention. She took another large breath and forced a smile on her face.
“ Why don’t we just continue the shower, and talk later. I just want to enjoy the day, that’s what you told me to do right?” he looked hesitant but allowed her to place her hand on his cheek, her smile slowly becoming more real as he looked at her.
“ That’s all I wanted for today, for you to feel special”
“ And I had been, even with that little hiccup. So let’s keep having a good time. Besides, I want to try one of those cupcakes I keep seeing you and Jules snacking away on.”
With that T’Challa helped her up and they rejoined the party. He brought her down before Cosette could start panicking. T’Challa watched from the side as Alix opened one onesie to the next. Both future grandmothers had gone overboard with little outfits. Knowing his mother was excited for this new milestone in his life would always make him feel better about the struggles with his father.
Not long after he felt his mother’s presence next to him, very quickly linking arms with him.
“ Have you been having a good time?” he whispered to his mother.
“ I am, your life outside of Wakanda is so different but in a good way. I am just lucky I am able to see all of it. And I know Alix says we shouldn’t spoil the baby but, I am excitedly preparing for when my grandchild comes home.”
“ Yes, well, if Baba has anything to do with it Alix, let alone the baby will never see Wakanda” his mother matched his frown.
“ Don’t say that, your father has exaggerated things by far, but he will be able to do the right thing when it comes time to do so. And of course, my influence will help that” T’Challa smiled at his mother’s humour.
“ It is just difficult, I am receiving it on all sides. If it is not Baba telling me that he believes I am ignoring my duty, it is Alix constantly resisting our apparent relationship because of all that I come with. And as though that is not enough, her father has his own ideas of me and having my father insinuate that I may not be an active father is not helping my case”
Ramonda could see his mind racing, she moved to rub his back soothingly
“ Listen to me, you are doing the best that you can, and I am proud of you. You just keep being the good man that I know you are and leave the rest to Bast.”
“ Thanks, mama”
“ Don’t thank me for doing my job. Now, you might want to smile and join Alix before her overzealous best friend comes over here”
With that T’Challa kissed his mother’s cheek and walked over to where Alix had been waiting for him to open bigger presents. Ramonda watched with a hopeful smile that everything would work itself out. She hoped that if she kept saying it out loud, that would actually be the case.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The rest of the baby shower seemed to pass as Alix had hoped it would. She had spent the rest of the afternoon ignoring T’Challa’s father, though it seemed he was doing her a favour by remaining in the shadows of the party. T’Challa had gotten over his initial disappointment surrounding his father and had joined Alix in saying goodbye to guests.
Amélie and David had gone over to say goodbye and as Amélie hugged T’Challa she asked, “ What happened to the push gift? All the ideas you sent me? I was ready to see it on her?”
T’Challa tried to signal for Amélie to speak in lower tones around Alix, who had already clued in to what they were talking about.
“Wait, you got me a push gift,” She said, surprised.
“ I haven’t given it to her yet, that is why I hadn’t said anything,” T’Challa said to Amélie with a polite smile.
“ I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said anything,” Amélie apologized to T’Challa.
“ No thank you, you helped me out, I hate surprises and have been wondering what he wanted to give me this morning”
“ Yes, well, I was attempting to make it special, but I guess as many of my plans today, this too has failed,” he said with a smile but Alix could hear the disappointment in his voice. Now she felt a little bad, the day had definitely not gone the way he had imagined, especially with everything that had transpired with his father. He excused himself and decided to help Cosette with whatever she needed as the day came to an end.
Almost everyone had left except for the T’Challa’s family who had come over to Alix to say goodbye. Alix had seen them go over to T’Challa first before heading her way. Shuri and Ramonda greeted her quickly before exiting, but of course, T’Chaka lingered, leaving an uneasy feeling in Alix.
“ Look, I don’t want any more trouble tonight, I think we leave it as it is” Alix started defensively.
“ I did not come over here to say anything other than goodbye,” T’Chaka replied calmly. “ And to apologize for the ambush that happened earlier. Clearly, this is not the place or the manner in which we should be having these serious conversations. That was made very clear by both my son and my wife.”
His comments gave Alix a chuckle. In return, he smiled before looking behind her where he could see T’Challa pretending like he had not been watching the interaction.
“Either way, there is a better way to have this conversation in the future and I hope we all are able to sit down and have a more fruitful conversation than any that we had today” Alix was taken aback by the almost positive path this conversation was going. She tried to hide the shock on her face as she nodded. He finally gave her a small smile before finally walking out the door.
He did not offer much, but Alix found herself feeling hopeful about what could be a possible resolution between their families. She finally understood the patience she always saw and admired in T’Challa, it was a little hope that was often offered that made it seem like a positive outcome could be possible.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Their drive home had been quiet, Alix wished it hadn’t, because, despite everything, she did have a good time at her baby shower. She appreciated how much her family and friends had come together to make her special and to appreciate the milestone that pregnancy was. Throughout her pregnancy, there had been several moments that she had been low and sometimes unhappy and unable to see the joy in her journey. But today was one of those days she would be happy to smile back on, and she wanted T’Challa to smile about it as well.
She assumed he needed time to work through his own feelings about the day. Before they could both bask in the good moments, the drive home may have been that for him. She didn’t know what to say, but at some point, she comfortably placed her hand on his knee as he drove. She didn’t turn to look at him nor did he react, but they both knew it was her little way of letting him know everything was okay.
When they finally got home, she sat on her bed staring at herself in the mirror before starting to remove the flowers her friend had placed in her hair earlier. She thought about keeping a few and pressing them into a book.
She looked at the door when she heard T’Challa’s footstep coming towards her ever so slowly, he had a box in his hand as he waited at the door frame.
“ Are you busy?”
“ No, just slowly decompressing, what’s that in your hand?” she asked after a beat.
“ We both know that this is your push gift” he replied with a chuckle as she patted the spot on the bed next to her. Very soon both their reflections could be seen in the mirror.
“ I know, but knowing you, you would make it special, even if I did ruin the surprise.”
“ Yes well, I had planned this whole speech, more so just some words I really wanted to say to you. But I don’t think they would apply at this moment anymore”
He placed the box in her hand, gesturing for her to open it.
“ Well, you are never tongue-tied, so I still would love to hear something” Slowly she opened the box, exposing an earring and necklace set she had been admiring a few weeks ago but for once did not plan on buying. They cost way too much money, but she did not think T’Challa had been paying attention. Her eyes went wide before turning to him.
“ T’Challa”
“ No, you cannot return it, yes I am aware of the cost. But the ladies at Lamaze advised me to go big or go home. Amélie had made sure to reiterate that it had to sparkle in the sunlight and I am certain the jewels do just that”
“ I don’t know what to say other than thank you, you know you didn’t have to do all this. Just you being here constantly, having me excited to bring this life into the world. That means so much”
“ I know, but I was excited to give you this, you are doing much of the heavy lifting so really, I am the one who cannot repay you for everything you are sacrificing to bring our child into the world” she leaned over and kissed his cheek before smiling up at him again.
He looked down at the box before noticing she hadn’t opened the second compartment. “ There is one more thing” he pointed gently.
She pulled the little compartment her shock had caused her to miss. Inside was a sterling silver charm bracelet currently holding one flower charm with a small yellow jewel in the middle. She looked up at him, feeling quite a bit emotional by all the appreciation. She held it together waiting for him to explain the significance.
“ I thought a charm bracelet would allow you to memorialize important moments in your life as they come. You always mentioned sometimes wanting to keep a little memory that reminded you of a moment you smiled. So that is how the bracelet came to be. Your mother also mentioned you had had a similar one that got full”
“ I did, you asked her about it?”
“ Of course, I wanted to get the perfect gift for you.” she finally let her hormones with and allowed a tear to fall, which he quickly reached over and wiped.
“ And what does the flower symbolize”
“ Well, even if they come early, our baby will be here in March, and a daffodil is their birth flower. So I thought marking the arrival of your child would be a good way to start.”
“There are those sweet words I knew you could string together” she finally spoke with teary eyes, as he laughed at her comment. She enjoyed making him laugh, she would never tell him but it gave her butterflies to know she could bring him so much joy.
“This is all so beautiful, thank you T’Challa, really” he nodded, just watching her looking at the jewellery box again.
“ I am not sure what dysfunction they are going to be born into but I think if we keep working on us, then there is a fighting chance. I know today may have made it seem like that sounds far-fetched but I do not think it is.”
“ I do not think it is far-fetched” she closed the jewelry box and looked his way.
“ Seriously”
“ Yes seriously, I know I had some doubts earlier, but I received a glimmer of hope, and I think I am going to take your approach and just hold on to that”
“ Can I ask what the glimmer of hope was?”
“ It was your father” his frown made her smile, “ I am being serious, when he was leaving he apologized for how he spoke to me and said that there may be room for a more productive conversation in the future. Now tell me that isn’t hopeful”
He simply nodded allowing himself to relax.
“ I really did enjoy myself today T’Challa. That wasn’t ever ruined, there are quite a few bumps on the road for us, I am not going to lie. But I think slowly but surely we are getting there. Our worlds are merging.”
The smile she loved so much spread across his face. She leaned her head against his shoulder, hand on her bump as they stared at each other through the mirror.
“So, you were quite the mama’s boy weren’t you”
“ Oh please don’t remind me of all the endless stories she told today. I specifically told her not to and yet she did.” he groaned at the memory of his mother sharing his baby photos with the other women today.
“ I am so glad I got to hear and see everything”
“ Despite the embarrassment, I am glad too. Today didn’t look exactly how I had hoped, but it had its moments and I’m just glad you were happy, and of course, I am blessed to share this all with you,” he said reaching over to take a flower out of her hair.
“ I am glad I am sharing this with you too” she closed her eyes for a moment, finally feeling like she was able to soak in all the moments from today with the only person she wanted to share any of it with. Yes, they were a mess, but she felt blessed to be a mess with him.
“Good morning,” Zari puts on her best smile as she walks into the family dining room. She helped Aiden into his seat beside T’Challa before sitting across the table from Alua. “Goodmorning,” The Jabari noblewoman smiles back and continues eating. Conversation flows amicably back and forth like normal and T’Challa couldn’t thank Bast enough. It wasn’t that he didn’t trust Alua or Zoe, but he had no idea how this breakfast would go. Especially since he had no desire to explain the full situation to anyone outside of those who already knew. “T’Challa?” the man fell from his thought cloud back to the table. He looked around to realize all the women in his life were staring at him. “Yes?”
“I asked what you and Alua had planned for the day.” His mother repeated. “Oh, I was going to show Aiden the menagerie if you’d like to join,” the king offered before glancing at Zari, “you too Zari.” The woman looked up from the fruit she had resumed pushing around the plate, “Oh, I’d planned to head out to the market and to see my family too. I think it will be good for you and Alua to spend some time alone with Aiden. Especially since she will be joining the family soon enough,” Zari offered up a smile before turning back to her breakfast. “I would love that,” Alua chimed in hoping to break up the silence that had begun to settle over the table. “Zari, I think I’ll join you in the market and visit to your mother,” Ramonda continued around the table. “I’m assuming that you will be in your lab Shuri?” The queen raised an eyebrow. “Only with your kind blessing mother,” Shuri grinned, quickly finishing her plate. Ramonda shook her head as the princess stood to escape to her happy place, “Before you go Shuri, please get Aiden ready to head out with his father.”
“But-” the princess opened her mouth. “I’ve got it, Queen Mother,” Zari spoke, earning a grateful look from the princess. She winked in response, “I’m not going to see him the rest of the day. I want to have a little time with him before we head off.” Aiden smiled up at his mom and Ramonda shook her head but laughed nonetheless as her youngest scampered out of the room before she could insist. “Come on buddy, you finished everything you wanted?” Zari caught her son’s attention who was finishing his last piece of fruit. “Look at you! Clean plate club!” the mother grinned and tickled her son. “Look, daddy?” He raised the dish to show his father who matched his mother’s enthusiasm. “I think that earns you a ride on a rhino if the herders agree.”
Zari shot the king a look that she hoped conveyed her unease and he squeezed her hand under the table. She fought to ignore the electricity between them “It’s perfectly safe,” he reassured. “I’m trusting you,” she warned. “Let’s go get ready so you can see all the animals with Daddy.” Zari stood and escorted her son out of the room.
An hour later Aiden was freshly bathed and dressed ready for his day. T’Challa knocked twice before entering, “You ready Aiden?” He smiled as his son ran over and hugged his legs. “Let’s go then,” He hoisted him up on his shoulders. “No daddy,” he wriggled around. “I wanna walk right now.”
“Oh?” the king raised an eyebrow and looked up at his son who was leaning over his face. The kindergartner nodded and T’Challa shrugged before setting him back down. “Why don’t you go find grandma? I wanna talk to your mom before we leave.” Aiden nodded before skirting out of the room. “No running son,” T’Challa and Zari reprimanded at the same time. The couple laughed. When the following silence became unbearable under T’Challa’s gaze Zari walked around the bed to grab her purse. “I should get-”
“Why did you do that?” the king moved closer to her cornering her against the wall. “What do you mean?” T’Challa moved even closer, practically pinning her against the wall. “You refused to go to the menagerie with us. Claiming you want Alua and me to spend time with Aiden.” the king leaned his head down so that his breath mingled with his love’s. “I- I do,” Zari stammered.
“That’s bullshit.” the king replied cooly searching her eyes. “T’Challa someone might see.”
“The door is closed.” He leaned even closer. His lips brushed Zari’s but his hands still held firmly behind his back. “If she is to become his stepmother then-”
T’Challa captured her lips in a bruising kiss and instinctively Zari wrapped her hands around his neck. The king's hands ventured to her lower back before settling on her butt and pulling them pelvis to pelvis. “He will have only one mother,” the king growled. “But Alua,” Zari started.
“Is in love with M’Baku as he is with her.”
“How can you be-”
“I asked her. We have agreed to try and figure out a way to change the agreement.” Zari looked up shocked and the king reveled in the feeling of still being in control of her body. “So your excuse stands today. Tomorrow, however, you are mine Zari.” The king searched her face for any signs of hesitation or defiance before stepping back and walking out of the room.
A few moments later, Zari caught her breath and looked at the time realizing she was probably keeping Ramonda waiting. “What is wrong with me,” she sighed, grabbing her things and making her way out of the room. A few hours later, Zari and Isha were huddled in their childhood hideout. The window seat in Zari’s bedroom was more cramped than either of them remembered but the conversation at hand was more important. “I just think we’ve missed our timing,” Zari sighed. “ I feel like you are deciding that for him, Zar. I mean you’ve only been here a few weeks. Albeit a few horribly timed weeks, but I think you should cut him some slack.”
“Yeah, but what if Bast is trying to tell us that she doesn’t approve?”
“Or she is simply testing the strength of your love. Think about it. You all have been apart for years. It is easy to fall in love with the idea of the relationship you had with T’Challa. But maybe she is making sure you can actually still love the man he has become. Not just the man he was.” Isha rubbed her friend’s back as they watched her nephew run around the backyard.
“I think I just need to give him some space. Take Aiden back to New York for a few weeks and once the marriage issue is resolved, send my baby back here until school starts.”
“If that is what you truly believe is best, then I support you. Personally, I think you’re running from the fact that you’re still in love with T’Challa.”
“I-”
Isha cut her friend off with a look, “I know you are and it’s okay. Just make sure that you are making this decision for him and Aiden, not just you being afraid to put yourself on the line.”
“So you don’t think I should give him some space to figure it out?”
“If you want to, you should. But I think you should reconsider not coming back with Aiden. I think you should come back to stay with him for the rest of the summer. Even if only to see me,” Isha added. Zari snorted as she hugged her best friend turned sister, “I missed you too Isha.”
“Okay Mister,” Zari smiled at her son as he was tucked in his covers. T’Challa had been quiet the whole time they got him ready for bed. He’d kissed Aiden goodnight and headed out claiming he had something he had to finish in his office. The mother was slightly worried about what had put him in an off mood but decided to talk to him about it after. “Tablet off? Toys away? Teeth brushed? Ears and Toes cleaned? Night light on?”
“Yes. Yes. Yes. Yep. Yes.” Aiden smiled back at his mom. “Alrighty then,” Zari pressed a kiss to his forehead. “I love you Aiden.”
“I love you too mommy,” he kissed her cheek before she headed out of the room, making sure to turn the lights out before shutting the door. Next thing she knew she was pressed against the wall with T’Challa hovering over her again. “For Bast’s sake T’Challa! What on earth are you doing?”
“I need to talk to you.”
“You couldn’t have asked me like a normal person?”
“You aren’t enjoying meeting like this? You seemed to enjoy it earlier.” The king raised an eyebrow and Zari felt heat rush to her cheeks. “What do we need to talk about?”
“Us. Zari, I want you and not as a friend. Nor as a co-parent. I want you as my wife.”
“But, you are already engaged.”
“An engagement I am trying to end. Zari, I never thought I would see you again. If I had known that just a few weeks later I would find the love of my life again, we wouldn’t be in this situation. We’d be planning an engagement party for all of our friends and family.”
The designer chuckled at the earnest truth that laced T’Challa’s insistence that they be married. “You didn’t know though. Now someone else’s life has been dragged into this mess-”
“Someone who loves another as well Zari.” The king interrupted. “I know T’Challa,” the mother looked away and bit her lip. “I love when you do that,” The king leaned in closer and Zari couldn’t hold in her laughter.
“Are you really this horny your majesty?”
“Yes.” There was no hesitation in his voice and suddenly Zari felt the wind leave her lungs. She’d expected him to joke it away but she could tell something had shifted. He was done playing games. This was no longer the 18-year-old prince she’d known intimately years ago. Before her was a man, who knew exactly what he wanted and she was what his eyes were set on.
“Oh,” her voice came out barely a whisper. “Zar, look at me,”’ the king lifted her chin. “What is keeping you from running away to elope with me right now.”
“Besides your fianceé sleeping in a guest room down the hall?” Zari chuckled and the king frowned. “You’re avoiding the question again.” He stated and felt Zari squirming even more under his gaze. “Tell me what is truly on your mind, Zari.” He asked softly, only a step above pleading. “At every step you’ve been so willing to give up on this relationship so quickly. Why?” He searched her gaze.
“A few weeks before I found out I was pregnant,” Zari started out softly, “you’d left something at my house. I came by the next day to drop it off and overheard your father speaking with one of the elders.”
[6 years ago]
Brinin Zana, The Royal City, Wakanda
The Palace
“Your majesty,” Zari froze as she heard voices coming down the hall. Not wanting to be caught leaving the Prince’s quarters unattended, she hid in an alcove close by. “Yes Semi.” King T’Chaka paused his walk to acknowledge one of the elders. “The rest of the council has asked me to speak to you about your son’s choice in a romantic partner if you will.”
“Yes,” the king gestured for the man to continue speaking. “Many of the council members are afraid of the consequences that will occur if the two decide to wed one day.”
“Wed?” Zari shook her head, “Who was thinking about marriage when college decision day was just around the corner. She prayed she could even make it through the rest of her final year of school with her head on straight.”
“As you know,” the elder continued, “The girl is not of noble blood. If the two should wed, well it simply has not been done. The elders would like you to put a stop to this relationship if at all possible. To preserve the traditions of Wakanda.”
“Is that all?” King T’Chaka glanced at the clock on the wall. “Well yes, your majesty.”
“Good. Semi, they are just children. Infatuated with each other. As you and the council are aware, children are not expected to marry as young as we were when we were younger. Both of them plan to attend college before any discussions of a family begin.”
Zari smiled, glad that the king at least seemed to understand the priorities of her and T’Challa. They weren’t even sure they’d be attending the same colleges for the next few years, let alone discussing a wedding or children. Though she and the prince had begun to explore the delightful method through which children were brought into the world. Zari fought the heat rushing to her cheeks at the mere thought of their escapades. “They are not even planning to attend the same schools as far as I understand. I highly doubt this relationship will last the separation and therefore, I will be doing nothing of the sort. My son is happy and the girl is a delight to have around. Now if they are still together in five years we will revisit the situation with both of the children involved and treated like the adults they are. Until then, my son will be allowed to enjoy this young love and it will end on its own timing.” The king dismissed the elder and continued on his walk in the hall. Leaving behind a Zari who was an odd mixture of pleased and hurt. Everyone was banking on her and T’Challa’s relationship failing? Sure she’d had her own doubts about her value in the eyes of the country as a royal, but it was different to hear your fears voiced out loud.
Present Day
“From then on, I felt like our relationship was on borrowed time. Even with Aiden it still is. The council will accept him, he is of royal blood. I am not.”
“Zar,” the king reached out wanting nothing more than to comfort the woman he could tell was seconds away from retreating from him once more. “No, T’Challa. Unless you can look me dead in the eye and tell me that the council would feel any different about us being together now than they did back then… I think it is best that Aiden and I leave for a few weeks. Just so you can sort out the marriage contract. I will send him back to spend the rest of the summer with you.”
Zari turned to walk away but T’Challa grabbed her wrist gently. “What about you?”
“I don’t know T’Challa.” Zari offered a sad smile before vanishing off down the hall.
“Come on baby, tell daddy you’ll see him soon,” Zari sighed as she watched her son sniffle his way through his hug with T’Challa. She loved how close the two had gotten and for a moment she wondered if she was doing the right thing by taking him away. It's just for a few weeks, she chastised herself. “Don’t cry son, it’s just for 14 days. Auntie Shuri taught you how to count that high. So every day, I want you to count down until I can come to get you okay.” The king wiped his son’s tears as the child nodded. “Okay,” Aiden mumbled and moved to take his mom’s hand. Ramonda, Shuri, Okoye, and Alua watched as the mother-son duo waved goodbye, T’Challa following close behind. At T’Challa’s signal, one of the Dora helped Aiden into the car while the king gently pulled Zari closer. “T'Challa, what about your family?”
“Two members of my family are leaving. They can excuse my PDA just this once.” The king gently pulled Zari even closer by her elbows so that their foreheads touch. Tears start to slip down Zari’s cheeks and the king wipes them away. “And here I thought you weren't going to miss me.” Zari chuckled and punched the king’s chest. “I do truly love you T’Challa. I just can’t fight this fight again. I want us to end on our own timing, not because the elders won’t approve.”
A tear sneaks out of T’Challa’s eye as he pulls Zari in for a hug. He holds her close, fearing that maybe this would be the last time they were this close. “I love you Zari,” He pressed a kiss to her forehead. She sniffled and hurried into the car before she could make a different decision.
“When you love something, sometimes you have to let it go before it can fly back to you.” Alua hugged T’Challa from the side before walking off with Shuri who patted her brother’s shoulder. “Let’s talk,” Ramonda touched her son’s shoulder and he followed her into the parlor. “You know, this might be the worst decision you have ever made.” The Queen started after they had been served a late lunch. “Esh, what have I done?”
“You let my future daughter-in-law just walk out of here. You didn’t even put up a fight.”
“Mama, you didn’t even hear what the elders said about her when we were kids. I can’t put her through that again,” the king shook his head. “Well then change the traditions.”
“I can’t do that.”
“I thought you were the king?”
“What if she says no?”
“Then you can rest,” Ramonda pulled T’Challa’s hands into her own, “Knowing that you fought for her. But if you don’t get her back now, or at least try. You will always wonder, ‘What if I had just fought for her a little harder?’”
“And Alua?
“I’m sure you can think of a way to appease the Jabari. Besides, we both know the girl is in love with M’Baku. You’ll both be happier with different people. So stop making excuses and go. Zari is the one that is about to get away.”
Y/N: Your Name
Y/Ns week had been awful, more so than usual. She hadn´t been able to be around her favorite humanoids and she had been away on mission after mission to species who didn’t appreciate her help and in the end didn’t pray to or for her, meaning her grace was draining slightly. It made her grouchy and really not very pleasant to be around. Natasha had already pointed that out to her, but Y/N had just grumbled and asked for another whiskey. It was the only way she would be able to get through the week in her own head.
Monday
Everyone hates Mondays, why should this one had been any different? It really wasn´t. It all started with Y/N getting her mission. A population of Welmus. An aggressive species who had no beliefs and were therefor hard to control. Welmus weren´t large, but they were many, reproduced faster than regular humans and could be a real pain in the ass unless controlled. Normally the younger angels would handle them, in more or less good ways. But in the past few months they had had a bit of an upproar which ended in the entire population having to be wiped out. Y/N didn’t like the work, but she didn’t want someone like Tony to have to do it. He took it more personal than Y/N did. She just did the job, she didn’t want to loose her wings. It seemed to be painful. So yes, she had commited mass-murder, in the name of Maria. In the words of sir Ian McKellen, in the Da Vinci-code, as long as there´s been one true god there has been killing in his name. Maria was god now. So while the Welmus-species wasn’t huge, standing at a height of 50 cm, they were very very aggressive and didn´t go down with a fight. Y/N had earned quite a few scars from that battle. In the end she had did what needed to be done though and she had wished for no more mission for the day, but as per usual, she never got what she wanted. Maria had given her another mission, this one to sort up another rebellion. She wouldn’t need to take anyone out, but she was supposed to take those responsible, into custody to let them stand in the court of holy law to have their fates determined. What a Monday it had been.
Tuesday - Thursday
Tuesday she had gotten her third mission of the week. To get to earth and make believers pray and atone for their sins. Yay, her favorite. Oh how she hated humans. They were ungreatful, needy, whiny, cruel, and disrespectful. They didn’t appreciate her help and didn’t pray for her after she left. All angels had a specific area they took care of Y/Ns was peace and she had visited earth with the mission to calm people down. The least they could do was to pray for peace no matter what religion they belonged to. Anyways, she had been busy trying to keep forces separated and her mind had been working non-stop to convince the leaders of the two forces to retreat and squash the dispute. What good was it being the good guy if she couldn’t use her powers. The whole ordeal had just taken so much energy out of her and Thursday night she just cured up under the stars and let herself regenerate a bit of Grace. It was exhausting to end fights and make sure everyone behaved, humans were particularly hard to deal with. And would you know, Friday would be even worse.
Friday
Whats worse than having adult humans not believe in peace? Having a child believe in peace but have to take them out because their future shows them to be horrible humans. The world didn’t need a new dictator. Her day had hence started with just studying the child, and eventually talking to the child and lastly taking the childs hand and guide him to Maria. Yes that meant the child moved on to the after-life. Yeah, Y/N job really wasn’t glamourous or fun sometimes. Her Friday didn’t end with that though. Maria sent her to collect three angels from hell, or the underworld rather. It was the same place for all religions who believed in a hell-like world where you were punished for your sins. Y/N liked the underworld, well she didn’t mind the dark and silence down there. Unlike heaven she never felt crowded while she was down there. The angels had all been captured by demons but had now been traded for demons that were kept in heaven. Y/N didn’t really know why they had all been captured, she didn’t really care, she just did her job. The angels had been returned safe and sound and Y/Ns week had finally been over. Well work for her was never over, but she took the weekend away from her boss, so close enough.
Angels and Demons, good and bad, light and dark, blah blah blah… Y/N had heard it all by now. She was the good, light, gracious and angelic. She was beautiful as few and carried her aura with pride. Well according to what most people thought anyways. She hated it, every second of it. Being an angel wasn’t something she had chosen. She had died, it was quite dramatic and all, but she had long forgotten how she died. Someone had seen into her sould and whipped up some hefty spell. And she oop… was an angel. Yeah yeah, it wasn’t that simple, but she didn’t know the process, just that she went through it. A few years into her… holiness… angelness… angelship, she got a wessel. She was to do the Lords work on earth. Y/N hadn´t been a believer before she died, doing the Lords work felt hypocritical to her and she had rebelled in a sense. Her rebellion had led to the exchange of theLord into a very lovey lady, Maria. Okay, she wasn’t lovely but, Y/N disliked any kind of authority. She did her duties as she got them in exchange for not being disturbed inbetween her missions. Her reach stretched beyond Earth, more than the human species believed in a power, and she was one of a number to make the higher powers work. Y/Ns favorite species to help were the Sofwas. They are small humanoid creatures, about 2 inches tall and despite that they’ve got quite the vocal range and Y/N always felt humbled by them. They were vocal, but kind, mostly. Y/N would often volonteer to help the Sofwas and she was respected and prayed to by the creatures. It was important to be that respected by at least one species. If she wasn’t she would fade, her wessel would devour all of her grace and she´d become a mere shell walking across the worlds praying on angels. Now lets not confuse a corrupted angel with a demon. A demone was a completely different thing, as unpleasant and disgusting of course, well almost all demons were awful.
Natasha wasn’t awful. She was a demon Y/N had worked with a few times by now. Angels and demons didn’t always have opposing goals. Most demons knew who Y/N was, they knew her story with heaven and often thought they could ger her to join their cause, or side, or whatever youd want to call it. Those attempt only pissed Y/N off, they were futile. She didn’t want to be on anyones bad side. She had, first hand, had to rip angels wings off because of their disobediance and failure to hide it, or make up for it. She had, first hand, had to kill demons, as they strayed too far off their path. All she really wanted was some peace and quiet. She had no interest in the disputes between angels and demons. She just didn’t want to be bossed around. That was her problem. If she refused orders she´d be discarded, she´d be killed. She was stuck in her situation really. Now back to Natasha, she ran a bar Y/N often visited. They had the more potent stuff that would get angels and demons alike, a good buzz. Y/N was a frequent visitor. Her work was hard and in the bar she didn’t have to think. A few of her collegues came with her occasionally, Tony mostly, but also Rhodey, and T´Challa. They usually met up in the bar to discuss their latest missions. The other three however werent as keen on demons as Y/N was. They were all technically younger than her and had a lot of faith in their boss Maria. Of course they knew about Y/Ns rebellion, but they hadn´t been around for it. At the bar they could talk freely, while there Maria couldn’t summon them. Natasha had made sure that the bar was a free haven.
The bar wasn’t only for them though, no no no, Natasha would never have been able to put up with them alone, there had to be at least two demons in the bar to balance it out. This didn’t always fall well with Tony and Rhodey. T´Challa was more relaxed around the demons even if he didn’t trust them or wanted to talk to them. There was however one demon neither of them wanted to talk to and Y/N wasn´t too fond of him either. He went by The Captain or The Nomad Captain, and he was the leader of the demons. He was the, so called, devils right hand. No one really knew his real name, well of course Y/N knew it. She knew a lot. She got around enough to understand who he was. The captain had a few friends Y/N actually spent some time with every now and then. It was mostly at the bar, but occasionally out in the real world as well. A demon Y/N really enjoyed spending time with was Sam. He was fun, and didn’t judge Y/N for being an angel. Unfortunately Sam spent most of his time with The Captain and his other associate. Y/N wanted to say the two were friends, but she didn’t know if demons could even have friends. Hell, she wasn’t sure she had or could have friends. Yes she had her collegues but they weren´t her friends. Currently the bar was empty apart from herself, Natasha, Natashas friend Wanda, and The Captain and the person Y/N had realized was closest to him, James. It was weird being the only angel in the establishment, but Y/N didn’t care too much. As long as The Captain and James didn’t pick a fight she would be fine.
