“You love me?”

Kyle asks. “Of course, Kyle. I thought it was pretty obvious. We’re both idiots, aren’t we?” Stan laughs. “I can’t believe you love me. I could’ve sworn you were straight. Even though you’re my super best friend, I must have been pretty off, huh?” Kyle smiles, feeling like his old self again. “Can you believe it? Stan *loves* me! Me! Kyle Broflovski! The same Kyle who was just outed to his entire school a few hours ago!” Kyle thinks, already feeling better, and almost forgetting about the series of events that happened earlier that day. Almost.

“Can I… can I kiss you?” Stan asks hesitantly, not wanting to make Kyle uncomfortable. Kyle answers by grabbing Stan’s jacket and pulling him closer to slowly press their lips together. “You look so cute right now.” Stan laughs a moment after they pull away from the kiss. “You don’t look too bad yourself.” Kyle jokes, looking in Stan’s eyes but then looking away.

They sit in silence for a few moments. “Sh*t…” Kyle sighs out of the blue.“What’s wrong?” Stan asks, tucking Kyle’s hair behind his ear. “I keep thinking about it, just… *so* much has happened today. I’ve been outed as gay and trans, everyone knows that I like you, and I just learned that you like me too. Just… wow. How can that all happen in one day?! And all because of Cartman! I hate his f*cking fat *ss so f*cking much right now.” Kyle seethes, not surprising Stan at all with his level of anger. Stan would probably be just as mad, because what happened today was “seriously f*cked up”, as he would put it.

“He really is an assh*le for that. Is there… anything I could do to maybe help?” Stan asks. “No, no, you’re fine. I’m sorry if I keep making a big deal out of it.” He pauses before continuing. “Actually, no I’m not. I *should* be making a big deal out of this. What Cartman did was really horrible and I deserve to be mad.” Kyle thinks, starting to ramble. “That’s the spirit, dude.” Stan jokes, moving his gaze from Kyle’s eyes to his red lips. “Shut up.” Kyle eyerolls, laying down on his bed, but still making sure there’s enough room for Stan. Stan lays down next to him, and they both stare at the white ceiling. 

“Do you want to sign Cartman up for those sh*tty websites that give you spam mail?” Stan asks out of the blue. Kyle laughs, pushing him gently. “Dude. Is that the only revenge plan you can think of?” “Pretty much.” Stan shrugs, taking his phone out of his pocket and unlocking it. Kyle watches over his shoulder as Stan puts Cartman’s email into a bunch of websites. “This is stupid.” Kyle eyerolls, grabbing his phone off his nightstand and when he unlocks it he notices the 5 missed texts from Cartman. “Hey.” “I’m not sorry about what I did. Stan deserved to know he actually had a crush on a girl.” “Lying b*tch.” “Kylie, answer.” “Whatever, tr*nny.” Kyle sighs, “Great.” He thinks, and doesn’t reply to Cartman. He knows he has read reciepts on, and leaving Cartman on read might make him more mad than responding to him with a cringe *ss comeback.

Stan ends up spending the night with Kyle. When they wake up it’s Tuesday, a school day. The night before, Kyle’s mom gave him permission to skip school for the day, because of the events that took place yesterday. Stan’s mom also did, just so he could take care of Kyle and make sure he didn’t do anything irrational, which Kyle rolled his eyes at.

Kyle wakes up to Stan holding him tight. He slowly sits up in bed and starts to scroll on TikTok. Eventually, Stan rustles around and rubs his eyes. “Hey Kyle.” He says, voice hoarse and tired. “Hi.” Kyle says, barely above a whisper. After a bit, they manage to wake up enough to get breakfast. They eat some cereal and then play video games. 

12:35 PM

“Dude! I literally won the game. I have no idea why you’re acting like you’re better!” Kyle laughs, pushing Stan playfully. “I am!” Stan eyerolls as Kyle gets up to turn off the video game console. “Do you want to go for a walk?” Kyle asks, hoping for some fresh air. Stan perks up and nods. “Yeah, of course! Whatever you need, dude.” He says, and they do. They walk to Stark’s pond, and sit down together, holding eachothers hand. “I’m so happy now. Even though Cartman outed me… I guess I wouldn’t be with you without him.” “You’re right, I guess there’s good in some bad things, huh?” Stan asks. “Exactly.”Kyle replies, placing a kiss on Stan’s cherk before laying his head on his shoulder.

They walk back to Kyle’s home a bit later, watch movies, and chill out. 

Kyle’s mom soon arrives from work, but Stan and Kyle don’t notice. They are laying in Kyle’s bed cuddling. At the worst moment possible, Stan turns toward Kyle, and kisses him. Before Kyle can process what’s happening, his mom is yelling. “Stanley Marsh! What on Earth are you doing?!” Stan quickly stops kissing Kyle, turning to the woman standing in the doorway. “M-Mrs. Broflovski! I-I can explain!” Stan quickly says. Kyle can feel his breathing getting faster and faster, his chest rising. “Okay? Then explain. You too, Kyle. I want to know EXACTLY what was happening. “W-well we were kissing.” Stan says. “And why would friends be kissing?!” “Ma, alright! We’re dating! Is that what you wanted to hear?!” Kyle screams, tears falling from his eyes. He knows he shouldn’t be screaming at his mother. “Don’t talk to me like that, Kyle! Stan, I’m calling your mother right now to tell her we’re dropping you home.” Stan jumps out of the bed. “Mrs. Broflovski, please dont tell my mom we’re dating. I’ll tell her later, I promise. Please.” He says, following her down the stairs as she goes to get her phone. 

Kyle stays in his room, stuggled into his blankets and crying out of humiliation, as Stan keeps begging Sheila not to out him. “You’re lucky I’m not one of those people who out children.” She says to him, calling his mother. 

Sharon: Sheila? Everything okay? Is Stan alright?

Sheila: Hello, Sharon. Yes, they’re both fine. I’m just wondering if I could drop Stan off at your house in about… 15 minutes?

Sharon: Oh yes, that’s fine. Thank you for dropping him off.

Sheila: No problem, heading out now. Goodbye!

Sharon: Bye!

Sheila sighs, hanging up the phone call and putting it back into her purse. “Gather your stuff, Stan.” Stan nods quickly, and runs up the stairs.

“Kyle? Can I come in?” Stan asks, sniffling. “Yeah its unlocked.” Kyle says, and Stan opens the door to see Kyle wrapped up in his blankets. “Your mom is dropping me off at home. Don’t worry Kyle. You have nothing to worry about, okay?” Stan says, sitting on the edge of Kyle’s bed. Kyle just nods, sitting up and wiping the tears off Stan’s cheeks with his thumbs. “I guess you should get your things together.” Kyle says awkwardly, getting out of his bed and helping Stan pack his stuff back into his bag. “Are you almost ready?” Sheila asks from downstairs. Kyle sighs, “Yes, ma. Just getting his things together.” Soon after, Stan and Kyle practically tumble down the stairs, and to the car. Kyle goes to sit in the back with Stan, as usual, but his mom interferes by saying, “Kyle, sit up front with me.” “It’s not like we’re gonna kiss back there.” Kyle mumbles quietly, closing the backseat door and getting into the passenger seat next to his mother.

Hi diary!!!!

So…like today is the start of me keeping up with my diary - almost like keeping up with the kardashians but not quite as their lives are way more fun, and like this is a book, not a TV show. So yeah. Do luv that show tho. All those sisters are literally smart AF.

Anyways, 3 days until my #bday, so I’m gonna treat myself on the day and buy Maddie Ziegler’s book. I’m saving up all my pocket money for it, I’m super excited!!! Literally like “oh my gawd” excited!!!! She is literally an inspo to EVERYONE!! ❤️ :) I hope she teams up with Jojo one day. The best dancer with the best singer?!?! OMG I would literally DIE!!!!

No shade to Ari or Tay-Tay tho. I heart them too. T-Swift is the ultimate #girlboss and Ari slays everything, but JoJo is just super fun!!! I love her!!!! Soo glad she got back with Kylie Prew, they are so adorbes together!

Clare seeks HIMBO: ‘The Bachelorette’ cast first impressions

The Covid-19 pandemic has been rough for the entire world, but Bachelor Nation faced some dark days too. Going eight months without a single new episode from The Bachelor franchise is something I would really like to not relive.

Fortunately, those dark days are over. Clare’s season has me sucked back in. 

The quality of this image is atrocious.

Most of these men—presuming they followed CDC’s social distancing guidelines— haven’t seen a woman in months, are touch deprived, possibly unemployed and contemplating moving back to their hometown while stalking the housing market on Zillow. Everyone’s desperate. That makes for some pretty good TV.

This season features men ranging from ages 26 to 41. We’ve got a boy band manager, a grooming specialist, several men who look like they masturbate in front of full length mirrors and even more who probably want me to join their MLM pyramid scheme. 

I’ve never been more ready to roast a bunch of men who have nightmares about going bald. It’s all I’ve wanted to do since March.

AJ, 28, Software sales

AJ is the kind of guy who writes “Looking for the Pam to my Jim <3″ on his Bumble profile. His bio is generic and probably not reflective of who he is as a person. If I were Clare I’d swipe left.

Demar is a “very popular spin instructor in Scottsdale and says he can get on that bike and spin to any beat thrown his way.” Imagine how many trophy wives Demar has f*cked? 

Eazy, 29, Sports marketing agent

Eazy is very similar to Dale on paper. Except his name is Eazy so he automatically loses that battle.

Ed, 33, Health care salesman

Jeremy is the oldest contestant ever to come on "The Bachelorette,” which may seem like a monuments accomplishment but he’s literally only one year older than Clare. 

He also “hates Instagram models, both male and female,” so he should have a lot of fun here.

Joe, 36, Anesthesiologist

Before I even saw his profession and location, I thought Joe looked like a doctor I’d find on a NYC dating app...and...uh...I probably did see him on there now that I think about it.

Anyway, this man has apparently been through seven stages of hell while on the front lines fighting Covid-19 in NYC so I definitely think he deserves to find love. Someone marry him please.

Jordan C, 26, Software account executive

I can already tell Jordan is going to get the “I’m young but mature” edit which means he’s probably not going to be good TV.

Too bad someone a tad younger (like Tayshia) wasn’t the Bachelorette. I feel like they’d make a cute couple.

Jordan M., 30, Cyber security engineer

I was going to say something mean but Jordan’s into cyber security and I don’t want my blog to be deactivated, so never mind. Cast photos are historically bad so I’m sure he looks much better in real life.

Kenny, 39, Boy band manager

I could go for the obvious drags regarding this man’s profession (or his sh*tty chest tattoo, or his suspiciously boyish face relative to his age), but I like to think I’m more clever than that. 

I’d like to take this time to talk about men, who are obviously difficult people, who rant and rave about how they want an “easygoing” woman. Look into the mirror, bud. No, not the one you use to jerk off to your reflection; the mirror that looks into your soul. Out of respect for the rest of humankind, have some self-awareness. Or maybe just see a therapist.

Mike, 38, Digital media advisor

Mike is seemingly a decent catch, but I can’t help but wonder why he’s still single or how he never (accidentally or on purpose) impregnated a woman in his 38 years of life. 

And now that I’m thinking about it, do any of these men have children? I have yet to see any mention of it in their bios. But there are eight men left to review, so there’s still time.

Page, 37, Chef

I spoke too soon. Page is a father! He also hates football! I’m a fan of this man. I was initially going to drag him for his name and say that Page is not a real name. PAIGE is a real name. PAGE is a piece of paper. I’m allowed to say this because we have the same name except mine is spelled the correct way. Based on my (mostly positive) review of his cast bio, I have decided not to hold his name against him.

Riley, 30, Long Island City

Riley, once married with children, would like to go on a family vacation that consists of touring every single MLB stadium in the country. If i were his wife, I would simply never give this man children.

Robby, 30, Insurance broker

No more Robbys on The Bachelorette. Society has evolved past its need for more Robbys.

This Robby described his dream woman as: “Incredibly athletic and able to throw back a few beers with him after a day of hiking. She has a sweet personality and won't mind that he spends his Sundays on the golf course.”

Someone please give this man a sex doll. He just wants a hole.

“Tyler C. is a badass lawyer who says he is a businessman by day and a cowboy by night.” How does that make him a lawyer? Does this mean he’s into cosplay? I’m confused.

Tyler makes an honorable living off riding his brother’s dick success as a country singer. “He just LOVES his job!” Uh yeah, I would too if I had a low-show, high-paying job off the merits of nepotism. It’s the American dream.

Yosef, 30, Medical device salesman

Another dad! He’s totally going to pull the “girl dad” narrative. That saying is kind of sexist to me but the masses generally eat it up, so I’m fairly confident Yosef will get the "sweet guy” edit he’s looking for.

Zac C., 36, Addiction specialist

“He loves Philadelphia sports and dreams of sharing a Philly Cheesesteak with his future wife while watching the Eagles win a Super Bowl.” This man is so South Jersey it hurts. 

On a more serious note, I don’t think anyone in recent history has spoken openly about their personal struggle with addiction on this show, so I hope Zac gets a chance to tell his story. 

Zach J., 37, Cleaning service owner

Zach is seemingly obsessed with Clare already and hopes to introduce her to his mom as his fiancée. Since Zach watched Clare on Juan Pablo’s season, you’d think he’d know that Clare would first meet his mom during the final four hometown dates. Assuming he makes it that far. My prediction is that he won’t.

Final thoughts

After eight long months Bachelor Mondays are back!!!

Uhh....wait.

Actually, we now have the less-exciting Bachelor Tuesdays. Yeah, it definitely doesn’t have the same ring to it. But I’ll take anything at this point.

Here are my final predictions:

First impression rose: Dale. It just looks like he can turn on the bullsh*t charm

Final rose: Jason. Clare wants a HIMBO I just know it.

Bachelor: nobody (Matt James is The Bachelor)

Most likely to get engaged on Bachelor in Paradise: Blake M2

Most likely to get canceled online: Bennett

Most likely to get sent home night one but deserve better: Chris

Thinking of the Police during BLM Times- "black and white" thinking at work, for better or worse

Hello, hope you are well! It is a pleasure to be writing to you during these tumultuous times, and particularly with some controversial thoughts on the Black Lives Matter movement.

Yesterday was #BlackoutTuesday, where many of my peers and social media users shared black squares on their news feeds to promote their support for the Black Lives Matter movement. This movement started with the despicable death of George Floyd, caused by a white police officer who held his knee to George's neck, George also being handcuffed, until George passed away. It was horrible, and part of a trend of African American citizens being treated brutally by white police officers, with the events being captured on camera and causing outrage at large in the nation. This event is receiving more attention and support than I can remember among other events, almost to the point where it is offensive if you do NOT speak out in support of the Black Lives Matter movement, which is something I have never experienced before. I didn't feel obligated to speak out for #BlackoutTuesday for Black Lives Matter, even though I did attend the rally here in Denver on Tuesday in support of the movement. However, I DID feel obligated to express that yes, this Black Lives Matter movement is extremely significant, righteous, and well founded, but it simply isn't as black and white as "Black Lives Matter- f*ck every other reason that comes into play in this situation"- which is why I made an Instagram post expressing that I do support the good standing police officers in this time.

The fact is, yes, there are a great number of racist, sh*thead police officers going to work every day. They are out there performing racism and doing horrible things to the African American and minority communities on a frequent basis. No denying that, and it is f*cked up to support that. There also is a great deal of systemic racism in place to oppress African American communities, not to mention a terrifyingly bleak history of African Americans as slave labor in the United States. All these factors can't be overstated, and play into the current Black Lives Matter movement very significantly. But there is a couple points I would like to make to give a second side to the issue, when considering that there also is a voice to be heard for the police officers and what their contributions to the nation mean.

First off, I'd like to say that yes, as I mentioned above, there is a lot of sh*tty police officers with ill intentions going to work everyday. They are performing racism on the job, and disgracing the police force community. However, I also would like to point out that the main actions you will hear about from the police force community is going to be these extreme instances, the George Floyd or the Trayvon Martin instances, as these ones are the most outrageous and give an extremely clear rallying point for movements like BLM. In conjunction, I would like to say that these instances are not the majority of the cases! They receive the majority of the attention, and are the most attention grabbing, that is why they spread over mundane stories like "police officer does his job". For most writers, this would be the *insert statistic here* point, and I would definitely do that if this were a school essay, but I'm just going to rely on you and I's common sense and say that I think we can agree its reasonable to say that most police officers aren't racist pieces of sh*t, maybe many are, but certainly not all. So when I hear arguments like ACAB, "All Cops Are Bad", I get really disturbed, because that is simply not a rational or reasonable point of view. That is a case of turning these small number (I say that lightly) of very sensationalistic, over the top instances of clear racism and injustice, and making it seem like that is the majority of the cases, when that is going to hurt the work of a lot of the justice focused and well-acting police officers in the force.

At this point, I'd like to cite one of the favorite books I've read, Coddling of The American Mind by Jonathan Haidt, who talks in his book about black and white thinking and how thinking emotionally can lead to untruths and incorrect points of view (not trying to call anybody out!! :) . In one of his chapters of the book he spends time outlining the uses of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, (and I took some notes here explaining the concept, just ctrl+f Dichotomous Thinking), which is a very popular form of therapy concerned with handling the potentially catastrophizing nature of the mind, which will jump from one end of the spectrum to the other at any time. (An aside, so far this post and returning to CBT has actually been really helpful to me haha, because I am an extreme user of Black and White thoughts at this time in my life) In this case, with the Black Lives Matter movement, we are clearly seeing a groupthink mentality, which even if is in place for a noble and just cause, is not fully addressing the other side of the argument, that there are police officers doing their jobs and this interferes with that. In this case, it appears moreso to me that the mind is latching onto again, the sensationalist, intense stimuli that is presented  in terms of the horrible events around George Floyd and others, and it is letting that overrule and control all further decision making. Again, this is one of the mind patterns that is treated for in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which is an extremely widely used form of therapy.

I think I'll wrap things up for now here, I'm sure I've offended enough people and my point is hopefully stated clearly. I am sorry to go against the grain, I just really feel passionately that there are two sides to this story, and this #BlackoutTuesday and BLM movement is one that is not fully addressing what is actually happening, as opposed to following the widely spread news and video content that is much more attention grabbing. I would encourage anyone to please read The Coddling of The American Mind, or skim through the notes I took as it presents some really concerning and factual information about how movements in our nation are trending towards extremes that may not be rooted in reality.
