#dndads #dungeons and daddies #my art #normal oak #link li wilson #taylor swift dndads #scary marlowe #im not doing the swiftli week cause i dont have time (literally procrastinating school stuff as im making this) but the angel/demon #thing gave me ideas and as such this was made #there is symbolism and thought here but also just shapes #so taylor has those little antena like his hat and hes a demon because of course and he has that thingy thats also his hat (and it has a #faint blue overlay because jodie/love as an anchor) and i borrowed the snmile from the nbdemon because its been on my mind and apart from #that hes just chuby and cute and fluffy #link is looongg and he has the most basic as to how i draw angels design i made his legs extra long cause soccer and i gave him orange #(Garfield+signature color) #and red (blood that is on his hands/his isssues/him not being as pure as he was once) and he has extra wings cause hes fast #i think he ended up looking kinda like those birds with the eyeliner (also his hands and feet being darkened #also allude to his “dirtied hands”) #theres normal whose a star because that's what i associate with him (more starfish looking because i wanted to give him dots to symbolise #acne and cause hes not goood at being an angel hes not an actual star his coloring make a teenie the teen T and the markings make him look #like hes wearing a tshirt he has little fire works that are suppose to be like cheerleader pompoms #scary is the most shapy one shes sharp and “edgy” i thing she ended up just slightly harpy like which i enjoy her not being fully colored is #because shes a shadow of her former self shes the least symetrical as well with the one wing and one eye #sooo yeah im a sucker for religious imagiery and symbolism #anyway i need to get to my actual work byeee

I love the rhyming on ttpd. can only think of two examples currently but I know there’s more.

#the dancing phantoms on the terrace do they get second hand embarrassed #is e v e r y t h I n g #but also I can’t stop thinking about: #you. look. like. taylor swift. in this light—we’re lovin’ it #like just the flow. the cadence. not even just the rhyme but #her ease with language and playfulness with it and all the little pockets and corners of so many songs #even ones you think you don’t like. settle in with time! #like the thing about taylor is that she is VERY much a poet #in that some of her genius/way with words is innate #and the images and stuff she uses the turns of phrase can feel so garish and embarrassing on first listen #they JAR #but honestly I think it’s because she is truly …. new? she is doing something NEW #and the shock and outrage that always goes with new things is always present with a Taylor album #and I think she’s drawing on so much from the past to write but she is so deeply rooted in the present cultural moment #so it’s so easy to dismiss her writing on first glance as like. idk a college girl’s idea of poetry #as being too Stark or Melodramatic. #she loves OBVIOUS imagery and extremely dramatic ones too #but she isn’t actually just throwing stuff at the wall #because pretty much always. it starts to land and soften and settle #and the image she’s chosen has done its job of drawing you into a world #and/or communicating an emotion #and sometimes it’s so upsetting. like. get me out of the bedroom with Matty Healy taylor!!!!!!!!!! but. the art is art-ing! #I guess is what I’m saying. she’s good at this it isn’t just hype #but some of it really is that she’s taking us places we might not want to go or are so quick to pass judgment on #as being unworthy of a song or more importantly a poem. but present art HAS to do that #and does do it!!!!!! idk I am just. musing

#closer baby closer #sav brown #savannah brown #pigeon poem #004. #I love listening to Taylor swift and drawing fun little fanart sand I guess that’s real art #and yeah I’ve cried listening to t swift in my room and over supercorp fics #but like #I don’t want to reduce those genres at all #that’s art #but idk #the other day I listened to the tiny desk concert of mitski screaming into the guitar during class of 2013 #and reading legitimate contemporary poetry (not new age milk and honey core shit) #it makes me feel more ardently #like I don’t know how to describe it #it’s like I can get a little controles taste of emotions and grief and joy and love and loss while listening to bedroom pop #(and I’ll admit folklore and evermore are so well written they scratch an itch) but I feels starved #like they fill up my heart but have no nutritional value to me #like I’ll numb myself with my safety art to experience emotions like crying over fandoms and making theories #and it’s all well and good #until I watch Everything Everywhere All At Once and realize I’ve been playing with paper dolls of my emotions #or I’ll listen to mitski scream off key into her guitar pickups- not sing- just wail like an animal caught in a trap- unwaivering #or I’ll read pigeon poem or poem 004. and I’m no longer experiencing art with training weeks on #I am left with my own emotions in a way I only am after years of studying art and music and I just kinda let myself enjoying my fav #emotional junk food- I didn’t realize how starved I am for REAL art and to create real art #(also this isn’t shitting on Taylor or fanart it’s or fanfic writers I am a fan artist- but like THIS is a different level of emotions)
