I think that a big part of what discourages potential artists to not draw is because they're afraid of making "bad" art and I've had this opinion for years now but we need to normalize loving and hyping up our super super old embarrassing art. I never see any artist doing this and I think on occasion it would be fun to be like "look at this old oc I made when I was 10! I loved her so much then and I think it's really cute now"

I think the only way I don't lose my mind with regards to how difficult I find learning empathy and comprehending human behaviour or emotions is reminding myself that—as much as people like to or believe or toute it as an inherency—children are not born with empathy, it is very much a learned skill.

Unfortunately I think the combination of the communicative difficulties of autism and outright child abuse has eventuated that I did not learn this skill.
