1 for the salty comics ask my bestest friend who I love to hear complain so so much please?

well i’m going to go with the two most recent examples for me, which is about cass and guy.

for cass i obviously have to mention her whole assassin era which is THE worst possible character progression possible for her as a character and goes against her entire moral code and literally everything that was established about her and what she is before this. but that’s old news. i wanna complain about the current “batgirls” comic because i just bought the new one for the cute variant cover and reading it just makes me mad because it’s making call backs to a conversation in the og batgirl 2000 run with both steph and cass being children of villains and having steph deal with the riddler COULD be fun but i feel like it + the part about cass being more violent than she wants to be feels more like going back to old plot lines that don’t do anything interesting for the characters. i dunno i have problems with the characterizations in this book in general and also how the actual batgirls kinda lose focus when the book wants to give attention to dick and babs which SURE fine WHATEVER. they’re more popular and beloved characters. but a lot of the work to side line cass for babs to get attention is more of a problem of writers inherent racism and ableism (not wanting an asian girl to be better than the big bat himself and not wanting barbara to be in a wheelchair which i’ll admit this book has her in it, but tom taylor is still my sworn enemy) but i digress. there was a single cute scene in it that was almost worth it

for guy it’s when they made him a cop in the new 52

well okay kinda misread it at first i thought it meant like, characters I thought were LIKE you so in that case it'd be Undyne, Rainbow Dash, and Susie Deltarune! But characters i associate with ya in the sense of like, i see them and think "oh that's June's little guy" are the Xenomorph, Starscream (i think?? i might have gotten the names mixed up sorry), and the Silver Surfer!!!
