I threw a party so I could meet death. She was really nice and had a giant collection of ttrpgs that I could play in the afterlife with her. My dad then got home, somehow knew what I was trying to do, and then got so mad at me for dying that I came back to life.

Our first official original TTRPG, Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy is planned for kickstarter launch late 2023/early 2024!
Tumblr media
Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy is an original, fully fledged, 200-page 2d6 TTRPG from The Agency of Narrative Intrigue and Mystery inspired by The X-Files, Kolchak: The Nightstalker, and much more!
Eureka features investigation mechanics that let players take initiative, use their characters’ unique strengths to find clues, and deduce conclusions themselves rather than to just walking into a room and roll Investigate.
Failed Rolls are not the End!
The Eureka! mechanic accumulates points throughout the adventure that can be used to help prevent investigators from getting totally stuck, but also a reward investigators for solving the mystery without ever getting stumped, because these points can be saved for life-or-death situations instead!
Tactical Combat!
High-stakes realistic combat can end lives in seconds through deep strategy that encourages careful thinking and allows for complex maneuvers. Thoughtful positioning, understanding of one’s surroundings, and having the right weapon for the job play as much of a role in victory as a character’s stats, if not more, which is good, because most of these PCs will not be larger-than-life action heroes!
Roleplay-driven Mechanics, and Mechanic-driven Roleplay!
Player characters’ personalities and ideals determine many of their gameplay mechanics, giving each character a totally unique way to play through Eureka! This won’t get confusing though, as all of these different mechanics use the same underlying systems that are easy to understand! Changing characters won’t require you to completely relearn the game!
Man-eating Monsters Hiding in Plain Sight!
As investigators face off against metaphorical (or sometimes literal) monsters, the rare investigator may literally be a monster themselves, and keeping it secret from the other players while having to sate their sinister hunger is a game of intrigue all its own.
Extreme Versatility!
Eureka is designed to be able to run (just about) any adventure module set between about 1850 and the present day with hardly any adjustments to either the system or the module, no matter what system that module was originally made for! Investigation, action, survival-horror, you name it, Eureka can run it!
Tumblr media
Player-driven investigation, a rewarding system for solving mysteries themselves, realistic high-stakes combat, gameplay determined by roleplay, and inter-party deception are all features you can look forward to in Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy.
Launch is still a ways off, but it doesn’t hurt to get the word out early!
Follow this blog to stay up to date on our launch preparations!

Room to Grow is a tabletop roleplaying game for one or more players about personal spaces and the things we fill them with. It is played with a standard deck of playing cards and your imagination.
In this game you will flesh out a character by creating a room belonging to them and populating it with their stuff. At the beginning you will only know a few details of this person, enough to create the space you will be playing in, the goal is to discover who they are as you explore that space.
Each turn you will draw a card, read that card’s prompt, use that prompt to create an object, and then place that object somewhere in the room.
The game is broken up into three rounds, representing three different examinations of the room.
When you reach the end of the game, you will reflect briefly on the room as a whole, the things you have seen and the person they describe. You will close the door, and the game will be over.
---
I made a role-playing game! It’s my first published work and it’s free.
If you play it you legally have to tell me.

Kirith Sotheril was a minor elven goddess of divination and enchantment magic. She was said to have golden hair and wore rainbow-striped robes. Her eyes continually changed color.

CERES: THE PLANET THAT NEVER SLEEPS
AVAILABLE NOW!
Tumblr media
Hell of a place to be awake, too. And nowhere better to be. It's humid and sticky from the scheduled rain and it's alive in a way a lot of the system isn't. Yeah, they say all this shit about humanity's real home being Earth, but here on Ceres you can feel the future actually forming up. And it's a future not meant for you, unless you're mean and lean and ready to act without hesitation. If you don't have the cash or the connections, you better have nerves of steel and an iron will. You better be able to flow with the moment.
There's malls and concerts and shopping, and TV and convenience stores, because people live here. But what you're here for is the hustle, the catch and the chase. You're here to claw out your own piece of the future for yourself, with your own hands.
Welcome to Ceres…Try not to die.
CERES: THE PLANET THAT NEVER SLEEPS is a 40-page setting and bounty module for our 90s anime-inspired scifi jazz fusion bounty hunter TTRPG SEE YOU, SPACE COWBOY… but can easily be used in any space or scifi TTRPG system.

Polaris: Chivalric Tragedy at Utmost North
It’s lovely and cold in the IPR office today, so lets talk about a game that holds that chill in its very bones.
Tumblr media
Polaris: Chivalric Tragedy at Utmost North is a game for three to five players set during the final years of the Northernmost People, just before the remnants of their civilization were swallowed up by their own Mistake.
Similarly to a Belonging Outside Belonging game, Polaris does not use a GM, just players who take on different aspects of the protagonists and the world in an attempt to tell the forgotten story of the greatest people this world will ever know. Each protagonist is a Knight of the Order of the Stars, the Queen’s retinue turned army as dawn begins to rise over the city of ice and starlight.
Tumblr media
Your Knights will fight against demons from the Mistake, doubters from the people, and even betrayers within their own brotherhood. All of which leads to their inevitable tragic end, as no matter how hard you fight you cannot stop the sun from rising.
Tumblr media
Trapped in the south, a young knight bargains with Leviathan for return to his homeland.
Polaris reads like an epic poem, a fairy tale written with gorgeous lyricality that immerses you in the world before letting you loose in it. It encourages the players to continue within the same cadence through the use of Key Phrases, one of the main mechanics of the game.
Tumblr media
Polaris is a deeply narrative game, with conflict relying on the players desire to tell an interesting story. If you enjoy old school fairy tales and fighting for what the world could’ve been you should absolutely check it out.
You can find PDF copies on P.H. Lee’s itch.io page, and physical copies on the Indie Press Revolution website.

FORIVA: The Angel Game, a Eureka adventure module.
Tumblr media
Our team has just finished our first official prewritten adventure module for Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy, titled FORIVA: The Angel Game. It’s definitely not our first module, just the first one we consider finished enough to talk about. Copies of it have been handed off to external playtesters for the first major non-A.N.I.M. playtest of the full game. Maybe, if we’re lucky, some of them that follow this tumblr page will reblog this post with their spoiler-free opinions when they’re done.
Here’s the hook: Somewhere, a mother stares wordlessly at her hospitalized son, who does not rememberher, and wonders why this is happening to her family. Somewhere, a private detective smiles as his client offers riches for someone to blame, someone who can pay in blood, for what was done to his children. Somewhere, a young girl tears down the advertisements that were covering up the missing poster of her friend. Her enraged shouts turn into choked breaths when she sees the grinning face of the one she couldn’t save.
A rash of hospitalizations and missing people has struck in 1999, Shreveport, Louisiana*, centered mostly around teenagers. They would all seem unconnected except for one thing: of those who lay barely breathing in hospital beds, a few words barely escaped their lips: “Angel.”
To seek out the truth behind this “Angel”, an investigator must use all the wits at their disposal- but only they know if they are ready to fall into the unthinkable rabbit hole that awaits. Stranger and stranger the story shall grow - and stranger still, what will grow in those who follow it. FORIVA is a 1990's investigation that sinks deeper into a pit of dread and intrigue as the investigators step forward into a bizarre psychological horror mystery - one which may leave them unable to recognize themselves on the other side.
FORIVA: The Angel Game will go up for sale after completion of the Kickstarter campaign for Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy.
