Hi all!
Touched some grass, maybe touched too much grass, and got wiped out by a headache. The weekly weekday grind is about to begin so I’m going to temper my contributions to the ongoing conversations around and about the dinluke fandom.
That said, I’ve had quite a bit of catching up to do and want to say the following-
While the discourse quickly centered around dark!dinluke and dark!dinluke creators, I agree with Withercrown’s latest and other later posts from others that this group is not solely to blame for what’s been happening to this fandom. The dark!dinluke corner may be the most highly visible one and have contributed much to the toxic stereotypes, tropes, and trends that have dominated much of the fanworks we see nowadays, but they are not the only ones and cannot be solely blamed for every ill that seems to plague and diminish the ship’s fandom. There are many other fanworks that don’t share the same themes and (infamous? improper? nonexistent?) tags as the dark!dinluke corner but feature many of the same problems - racism, racialized xenophobia, homophobia, heterosexism, gendered stereotypes.
I did my part in centering the debate around them and also on the racism and xenophobia surrounding Din Djarin and Pedro Pascal with my responses to asks, my reblogs, my tags. While I know these conversations needed to be had (and they keep needing to be had, why do we keep needing to have these conversations???), I should’ve done more to highlight the other major problems with the fandom. I also didn’t speak up when discussions and headcanons fetishized and applied heterosexist ideas and tropes onto gay/MLM relationships and characters, and that’s something I need to work on. I’ve complained in private spaces many times my frustrations with characterizations of Luke in particular but never took them public. Seems like it’s time to end that.
It also bears reminding that all of these major problems with the dinluke ship and fandom that had been driving people away and reducing participation in these spaces are not separate. They are not isolated, they are not single issues to be addressed one by one. These are inter-connected and intersectional. Any effort to do better and to make a better community needs to take into account how we should approach Din and Luke as individuals and in a relationship. I do what I can while keeping in mind how Din is perceived because of his actor and I do the same for Luke (and for every other character in Star Wars, really, they all deserve this).
I’m just a human, I will fuck up (I have fucked up), but I’m always striving to correct myself, learn, and do better - for me, for the people in fandom, and for a ship I very much love.
I have a few asks in my inbox but I want to spend the rest of the night being productive with other things so I’ll address them later in the week. I’m also keeping anon asks off in the meantime for the same reasons. When will anon asks get turned back on? That’s for me to know and for you to find out.
Take care of yourselves. Do what you must for your sake. I’ll see y’all on the flip side.
#dinluke#skydalorian#tbh when I made that post I didn't expect it to blow up or kickstart another weekend of discoursing#I'm glad for it though I think we strayed too far from all the major issues Withercrown had brought up in his original post#but here's the thing - Withercrown was simply the straw that broke my camel's back#my poor camel had to bear the weight of all of my frustrations and anger toward not just dark!dinluke but other dinluke fans#I'm the poor fool who sat on that back with my silence and my fears about fandom and then that straw came down on my head#on a personal note - I hated gendered stereotypes and tropes all my life and my discomfort has led to me questioning myself#(one could argue that vico ortiz and OFMD's jim jimenez led me to seriously asking myself if I wasn't as cis as I thought I was)#that discomfort has also made me hyperaware of characters being assigned these traits and roles based on racialized and heterosexist ideas#it was never just the racism or xenophobia but also how the racism and xenophobia played into characterizing din and luke a certain way#the thing about intersectionality (besides it being really about frameworks of power and legal systems in the US) is that it is hard#it is hard work because it asks you to take into account so many facets of identity and inequality and you can lose track or focus#and it is ongoing. it never ends. so long as these systems and structures are in place we have to live and breathe it#it doesn't just go away after a weekend of volleying back and forth about statistics and identity#for me the hurt really began in 2016 with the finnpoe discourse which only worsened with The Last Jedi the next year#these hurts never left and will never leave because fandom doesn't learn doesn't do better#but I'm truly tired of being quiet and of wallowing silently in despair and of losing hope#so if I have to lob fireballs into the dinluke tag and show myself then so be it

dinluke and grogu visits boba on tatooine because, honestly? din misses his friend. and luke is nothing but indulgent to his boyfriend so of course he tags along. ("yes, i promise not to fight fett. this time. unless provoked. if he provokes me again, din, then i'm fighting him.") tho, luke is unaware of boba's rancor so when they land on boba's property, the rancor—that boba takes on daily walks, the big guy needs his exercise—excitedly charges at grogu.
luke immediately gets flashbacks and ignites his saber, only for din to toss grogu to the damn beast and—why is grogu giggling? and why is the rancor wagging its tail? and why is grogu babbling in that happy tone luke's only ever heard around when he's around his parents? and—
"din, what the fuck is that thing doing to my son?"
"they're hugging, skywalker. it's what friends do—"
"is your name din? no. shut up, fett." luke whips his head to his boyfriend and points to grogu and the rancor as if he's expecting an explanation as to why grogu knows its favorite scratch spot is behind its ears.
he doesn't get an explanation, though. well, nothing more than din simply saying, "grogu and chomp have a long history."
luke...luke really wants din to elaborate on their so called 'long history' bc grogu is now on top of the rancor and tugging on its chains as if he wants it to scale the nearest cliff. which he probably does.
but luke is also fixated on a small detail that sounds too good to be true.
he slowly turns to boba, who's suddenly taken an interest in his sandy boots, and says behind a barely contained laugh, "you named your rancor chomp?"
boba sheepishly kicks at a pebble in such a non boba fett way that luke has never seen before. then, "he...likes to chomp...on things. the kids helped me name him. chomp was the least terrible one." boba coughs into a gloved fist and adds, "it was a vote."
as luke laughs a belly clutching cackle that doubles him over, making din support most of his weight so he doesn't face plant into the sand, he can't help but think that han is going to love this. boba fett, the guy who tried to kill them on more than one occasion, named his rancor chomp, of all names, because his cybernetic teenagers voted on it.
oh, luke can't wait until their next holocall.

I am late to this because I've been super busy and I don't think I've ever done one of these before but thank you @dark--whisperings and @demon----dean for the tag! I really appreciate it!
Here goes....
3 ships: Oof, this is hard to answer haha. I go through phases and have shipped so many pairings, but right now it would probably be Obikin (Obi-Wan Kenobi/Anakin Skywalker), Dinluke (Din Djarin/Luke Skywalker) and Kylux (Kylo Ren/Armitage Hux)
first ever ship: I honestly don't remember lol! But I guess I started rabidly reading fanfic back when the Avengers first came out and I got really into Stony (Steve Rogers/Tony Stark). And then came Hannigram (Hannibal Lecter/Will Graham) and I was deep into it and never got back out again.
last song: I Hate Love by Garbage - it's good vibes for a fic I am writing
last movie: Barbie
currently reading: I have a hard time reading too much when I am in writing mode, but I am slowly working my way through Like Real People Do by glimmerglanger. I love it and have read it many, many times!
currently watching: Ahsoka (obv). Also just finished Good Omens S2 (don't talk to me) and re-watch of OFMD in preparation of the new season next week.
currently consuming: wine as inspiration to write
currently craving: the ability to take all my ideas and turn them into fics instead of endless additions to my prompts doc.
tag 9 people you want to know better: (no pressure!!)
Ah, I think most everyone has already been tagged probably, but just in case, hello there @jedibongrip, @tennessoui, @dinagastuff especially because I saw recent posts about work from them and I 👀👀👀

Grogu woke up with a yawn and seeing that no one was awake in the house yet, he thought he would wake up his two dads.
He floated out of his crib and slowly made his way to their room.
As he passed the coffee table in the living room, he levitated three small candies to himself before continuing on his way, munching.
The bedroom door was open, which meant he could come in.  His two fathers had told him that if the door was closed, he wasn't allowed in. Unless it was an emergency. He was allowed to use the Force in case of danger. Sometimes he had heard little strange noises behind the closed door, but he had felt nothing negative in the Force, more like happiness, so he assumed he had nothing to worry about.
This morning they were both fast asleep.
Din was curled up in Luke's arms, his arms around his waist and Luke's chin resting on Din's hair. But Grogu was hungry and he wanted to remind them of that.
He hopped onto the bed at Luke's side before climbing onto his pillow and stroking his ear.
Luke laughed softly and said affectionately, "Hey little punk, are you already awake?"  He didn't seem upset that Grogu had woken him. Good. It would be easier to convince him to serve him breakfast.
Step two, wake up his second father, because if Din was asleep in Luke's arms, Luke wouldn't move to wake him up.
Grogu crawled to the other side of the bed, and when he got to Din's side, he started to coo near his ear.
Luke, who had figured out his trick, chuckled softly, "You little minx." He kissed Din's forehead and laughed quietly. "I think our child wants us to get up."
Din sighed, "Grogu?"
Grogu put on the cutest face he knew, tilted his head and cooed softly.
Din snickered, "It's crazy how much he looks like you when he wants something."
"Hey!" Luke protested.
Din kissed Luke's pouting mouth, who stopped pouting when Din pulled away. He was about to lean into Din when he was interrupted by a familiar chirping.
Grogu was hungry and wanted his breakfast.
His two dads laughed.
Luke stood up, followed by Din, who took Grogu in his arms. He cooed again as Din scratched his head and Din whispered, "Just like Luke."
When they reached the kitchen, Luke finished filling Grogu's bowl and placed it on the counter in front of his high chair, "Here buddy."
For a moment Grogu enjoyed his cereal, not paying much attention to his fathers and what they were doing. After all, he had reached his goal, the rest didn't matter anymore.
Looking up from his bowl, he saw that they were facing each other over their breakfast, talking while holding hands.
He liked these moments between his two dads because his first dad was smiling in a way he had never seen him smile before they moved in with his second dad. He loved his second dad because he was the one who put that smile on his first dad's face. And most of all, his first dad had never put his helmet back on when he came home.
Grogu noticed their voices getting lower, then Luke stood up and came to sit astride Din's lap, putting his arms around his neck.
Grogu knew when to bother them and when not. This was one of those times when he had to go unnoticed.
Anyway, he had already finished his breakfast.
He went into the living room and when he turned around, he saw his two fathers kissing. He sighed with satisfaction, first because he could feel in the Force how happy this activity made them, and second because it meant he could take a little nap and even help himself to the bowl of sweets again.

The Storm by shirozora
Din Djarin needs a new ship.
Greef Karga makes him a deal - do some work for the guild and he'll get a brand new gunship. One such job takes him to a planet with a volatile storm system to track down a double-crossing bounty hunter. What he doesn't know is that the bounty hunter is there to loot an ancient Jedi temple. What neither of them know is that someone else is also on the planet searching for the temple.
And then the storm rolls in.

A Little Farther Down the Line by Chromat1cs
Austin, Texas, 1973. Din Djarin plays the guitar, worries about his kid, and runs aimlessly from a past that pulled the roof down around his ears. When a stunningly-talented duo of up-and-coming performers turns Din’s plans of being a simple session musician clear on their head, Din must decide between the safety of mundanity or the unlooked-at thrill of following his heart lest the tape run out on this track of his life before he’s through recording it.

We Two Scorched the Earth by annathaema (moony)
That left Luke with a much bigger problem: The Sand People knew he was here, they’d likely sabotaged or stolen the speeder by now, and he was stranded in a cave with nothing but a rifle with three rounds left, a survival pack good for only a couple of days, and no transport home. Great. Luke leaned against the wall of the cave and tipped his head back, thumping the back of it against the stone over and over. He closed his eyes and wished for rescue.

Tagged by @wildlife4life for wip Wednesday! Last night I was thinking about this dinluke fic where Luke lives on a house bout I wrote awhile ago and remembered I had a sequel planned thats like a bunch of vignettes in their lives going forward. Since it’s a busy holiday week and I have nothing new, here’s two of the complete ones (second one under a cut because it involves a nightmare about a fatal boating accident asdfgh). Other people are also probably busy this week but @malewifediaz @eddiebabygirldiaz @rewritetheending @shortsighted-owl @shitouttabuck @lover-of-mine @thewolvesof1998 if you have any wips you want to share this Wednesday
Luke listens to Din's breathing and the occasional rasp of a page turning. Lying at his side as he is, all he can see when he tries to look up at his face is a close up of an elbow, so instead Luke takes to studying the man's hip. The skin of Din's body is paler than his face and arms, hidden away from the sun's loving touch. There is a small scrape just above the crease of fat where torso meets leg, mostly healed. There's a tile on the front edge of the kitchen counter that's chipped from Grogu's forehead careening into it during an ill fated game of hide and seek, and the jagged edge keeps claiming victims to this day. Luke presses a kiss to the little red line before continuing his research. Din's skin was so warm against his lips that he decides sight alone is not enough to gather proper data, so he brings up his hand and presses his fingertips into flesh. Soft, giving, smooth. He moves his hand up and down, marveling in the divots left trailing behind. And here, a bone! The sturdy core of Din, the structure of him. Luke presses his forehead to it, his nose, his lips. He fumbles kisses along the crest of it, tasting salt, smelling sunscreen.
"Sweetheart, what are you doing?"
Luke looks up to find that Din has stopped reading and has twisted to look down at him, fondly amused. Luke isn't sure how to explain his thought process, so settles on simplicity. "I love your hip."
It makes Din huff out a breath of a laugh, eyes crinkling."Why?"
Luke hums, wrapping his arms around Din's waist and burying his face back into the beloved body part. "Because it's your hip. Because it's attached to the rest of you and I love all that, too."
A hand combs through Luke's hair, once, twice, then rests cradling his skull for a moment before Din scoots down the bed, dislodging Luke's arms from their embrace. Din kisses Luke's jaw, and then his neck, and then lays half on top of him, cheek pressed above his heart.
"I'm sorry I'm an old man, I don't think I have the energy to go again."
Luke smiles up at the ceiling. "You're not an old man."
Din hums skeptically and rolls his shoulder so the joint pops and Luke laughs. Din turns his head so his face is pressed into Luke's chest, and he can feel him smile. Luke remembers how his face used to hurt after being around Din for a few hours because he couldn't stop smiling in his presence. The muscles that move his cheeks and pull his lips must have grown stronger over time, because he certainly doesn't smile less. Big grin, showing teeth to the popcorn plaster above him.
"All of it," Luke says, trusting completely in Din's ability to follow his meandering train of thought. "Every part."
A warm little exhale against his skin and then Din lifts his head and props it on his own hand to look down at Luke. He just looks, and Luke lets himself be observed. Luke loses himself in the way their chests press together when they contract and expand to let air in and out, and then Din leans forward to kiss him. Luke brings his hand up to rest against his face. Din pulls back just enough to speak.
"I don't think there are words," he whispers, eyes fluttering shut as Luke's thumb strokes his temple, "To tell you…" Din is quiet for a moment, then inhales. "How you live in my heart."
And Luke knows. Din's love is plainly written into every movement and word, his love for his son, for his friends and his family, his love for Luke. Luke touches his wonderful disheveled hair. They're fairly thoroughly pressed together but he can trail his hand down and just fit it against Din's chest. Taps a finger twice. "It's nice in here."
Din nods, as if in relief at being understood.
In the dream, Biggs laughs, bright and open as he always did.
Two ships glide over water that looks like glass, no indents or peaks in its surface, and Luke is on one of the decks and observing from far above. Biggs laughs, bright and open as he always did, and tosses Luke a rope, and Luke laughs bright and open in return. His stomach rolls and he says "You have to leave," and Biggs laughs, bright and open as he always did. The light is the bright light of midday, and then it is dark and stars are blotted out above him by impenetrable clouds and he is Anakin slipping over the deck trying to secure every rope in place, shouting at Luke to help him take down the sail, and Biggs laughs, bright and open as he always did. And Luke is the ship and sees the other boat practically falling towards them, both of them caught almost sideways on the biggest wave Luke has ever seen. He is on shore and Leia is saying the weather is all clear, conditions good for the race. Biggs laughs, bright and open as he always did. Luke is on the ship, in the pounding rain that is indistinguishable from the salt water coming over the side of the boat, and Luke is the sound of splintering wood and screeching metal and Biggs, laughing, bright and open, like he always did.
He sees the moment he falls. He sees his head hit the cleat with enough force to crack him open. The moment happens, keeps happening, stretches on forever. And then he blinks and the other thing has happened, the mast has fallen, has crushed his hand, has knocked Biggs over. He looks at his hand and feels no pain, knowing that that is wrong, knowing that it was excruciating. He looks at Biggs and with so little light from the storm the deck looks black beneath him, and he knows before it happens that there will be a lightning strike and it will turn crimson. He doesn't want to be here. He looks at his hand and it is red and swollen. He is Anakin and Luke both and they frantically move around the boat, trying to stay on board, trying to keep it afloat. Anakin asks where the carabineers are and Luke begs him not to ask and Anakin asks where the carabineers are and Luke tries to pull away, tries to stop moving, tries to scream as he scrambles to Biggs and goes through his pockets and looks at his dead eyes and Biggs laughs, bright and open as he always did. Luke looks at his hand and it is purple. Luke is standing and moving to help Anakin and Luke is also holding Biggs, cradling his ruined skull. He is freezing, he is colder than he has ever been, he looks at his hand and his fingers have turned black, his flesh is dying. He is on the boat and he is holding a dead man and when he looks at his face it is Din's face, it is Din's blood and brains and bone fragments that they will wash off him four hours later when they have, somehow, made it to shore. Biggs laughs, bright and open as he always did.
Luke is moaning when he wakes, a fearful, sick sound. The gentle motions of the water in the harbor are usually soothing, but now they just make Luke feel panicked, his heart pounds, he heaves in great breaths without seeming to get any oxygen. He clenches the side of his bunk and can't decide if opening his eyes is better or worse, can't decide if he wants to curl into a ball or get up, get out of here, flee. He feels nauseous. He sees Din's dead face in his mind and tears come, he wishes for an absurd moment he was still dreaming so he could hear Biggs laugh again.
He's not sure when he woke up but by the time he is breathing somewhat normally and has more or less stopped shaking the sun has started to come up, the nighttime hues in his boat giving way to the purples and oranges of dawn. He didn't flee, he didn't throw up. He feels exhausted and he's soaked in sweat, but he counts those small victories. He'd scared the hell out of Leia and Ben and whoever he'd been staying with in those first few months when they woke up and found him gone, had to go pick him up when he'd call from a payphone or cafe, barefoot and trembling. He flexes his hand and sits up slowly. The world is calm outside the little porthole window above his bed, and he watches a seagull preening itself on a post for a minute as he gathers himself to take a shower or look at his phone. Shower first, he decides, standing up and stretching, still feeling too unsteady to let the rest of the world back in just yet.
The shower is tiny and never very warm, but the cool water is bracing and familiar and Luke closes his eyes and lets it run over him and tries to not let it remind him of anything, tries to keep his mind blissfully blank. He mostly succeeds, only has to swallow bile once as his thoughts bump against the image of Din with dead eyes again. He brushes his teeth and spits hard.
His mostly busted charger managed to get his phone up to almost full power through the night, a small miracle. He has emails which he ignores, and a message from Leia and a message from Din. Leia’s is a blurry picture of the baby with something green on his face sent at 3 am with no caption. He replies baby!!! then takes a breath before opening Din’s message. It’s a few minutes old, probably came in while he was in the shower, and says pancakes with no punctuation or explanation, but Luke doesn’t need any to understand the man. Some clenched part of him unclenches a little. He gets dressed in a hurry, grabs keys and wallet, breathes cold salty morning air as he makes his way up the dock and to his car.
There’s no one really on the road this early so the only thing slowing him down on the way to Din’s apartment is traffic lights and speed laws, and he ignores the second thing just a little. There’s even a parking spot open out front of the place when he pulls up, big enough for his stupid old truck. He sits in his car. It’s a shady spot, even, his car won’t be an oven when he comes back out later. He looks towards the building. Din and Grogu are up there, right now, Grogu is probably performing the all important task of dumping the bag of chocolate chips into the batter. He could walk right up, should be opening the door and heading inside but the ice has locked around his heart again. This happens sometimes, has happened before, Luke sitting outside convincing himself that if he opens a door he’ll find something terrible inside. It’s not like it’s an unfounded fear, in his life. And he can’t quite dodge the nightmare image of Din, cold and lifeless. He digs his blunt nails into the cracked leather of the seat and tries not to get worked up into a real panic and just as it starts to really not work his phone buzzes. Din. You here?
Luke gulps air and presses dial. It rings only once before Din picks up and in his soft voice says “Hey, everything ok?”
Luke shakes his head and says “Yeah,” and clears his throat and says “Sorry, yeah. I’m outside.” He can hear Grogu say something in the background but can’t make out what it is. “Are you-“ He can’t say are you alive, thats a dumb question, even if it’s the one he wants the answer to. “Is everything- It’s all alright, up there?”
A fuzzy breath, then “Yeah, Luke.” Some indistinct noises, then “Hey, kid, say hi.”
“Hello,” in Grogu’s tiny voice, L’s a little blurry.
“Hi,” Luke smiles, “Hi, baby.”
Grogu doesn’t say anything else but he giggles, and then Din is back on the line. “We haven’t started cooking yet. There was an, uh- orange juice situation.”
“Sounds serious,” Luke says, unlocking the car like he’s trying to do so without himself noticing.
“Down a few clean dish towels,” Din agrees. There’s a clang and Grogu laughs again, muffled.
Luke plants one foot on the street, drags the other out of the car, stands up. “Any left for thirsty travelers?”
“It’s the pulpy kind.”
“Gross,” Luke makes a face as he locks the car and takes measured steps towards the building.
"There's coffee."
Luke stands about ten feet from the door. "Lightning fast redemption arc you got there."
"It's a talent."
The door to the apartment building opens, and Din and Grogu stand in the entrance. Grogu strikes a pose and throws his hands into the air and shouts "Surpise!" with a big grin on his face.
All the air in Luke's lungs leaves in a rush, a laugh that feels punched out of him. He barely remembers to put his phone in his pocket before moving forward to catch the little boy running full tilt towards him. He spins around and Grogu cackles, and Luke kisses all over his head as they come to a dizzy stop. And here is Din.
The man stands close, first smiling with the specific sort of fondness he saves for his son, and then with the specific sort of fondness he saves for Luke. His eyes are bright as they search Luke's, and Luke lets out a little breath and steps even closer, grabbing a clumsy fistfull of Din's shirt while keeping Grogu in his arms. Din's brows furrow a little, and he slides his arms around them both and kisses Luke's cheek.
"Hey."
"Hi." It's so warm here, with these two. Luke gets even closer, leaning his face against Din's, supporting Grogu between their bodies. His hand moves from wrinkling Din's shirt to rest on his shoulder for a moment, then creeps up to cradle the back of his head. Whole, complete, unbroken. "Just… checking," Luke says, though Din probably doesn't need an explanation. Their foreheads are pressed together and it's a little dizzying to look at someone this close up, but they stare at each other anyway.
"You wanna come in?" Din asks, eventually, nodding his head back towards the building and the apartment and the pancakes and the coffee.
"Yeah," Luke says. "I do."

Fic stats meme!
Thanks so much for the tag @mashumaru ! I had actually seen this from @theanishimori , and had copied it into a note to do, but hadn’t followed through. This was the impetus I needed!
Rules: give us the links to your fic with the most hits, second most kudos, third most comments, fourth most bookmarks, fifth most words, and fic with the least words.
Most hits: With 10,000 more than the next fic, it’s Sort It. Which is my Sherlock & James Bond crossover with Q as a Holmes brother and featuring Mystrade. The Q as a Holmes brother trope is so good, but it hasn’t been written all that much, and at least when I wrote Sort It there was almost none with prominent Mystrade (I haven’t looked lately). So this story fits a specific niche in the fan fic universe that people are interested in reading but there’s precious little out there. It still gets a couple kudos each week and tops most of my stats.
Second most kudos: The Century Gentleman. This is my Sandman post-show canon straight forward Dreamling getting together story. And my problem with it is that I’ve read So Much Dreamling getting together that is so much more interesting and creative than what I’ve written that I’ve gotten a little meh on it. But I posted it in the early days of the show fandom when people were dying for Dreamling content, so it got a lot of kudos. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ve done better.
Third most comments: This is Sort It again. It gets beat by Loverboy and Seven, which are both more than one chapter and I waited between posting chapters so some people were kind enough to comment more than once.
Fourth most bookmarks: Lonely Two-Legged Creatures. My only Star Wars fic and my only fic to have a title from a song lyric. DinLuke. I’ve written 3 out of 4 chapters and it haunts me. Tops my list for number of subscriptions. I do think what I’ve written is quite good. Every few months I think about trying to finish it. Maybe someday I will.
Fifth most words: Law School Days. Another unfinished multi chap but this one doesn’t haunt me that much because very few people were interested in it. It’s part of my Arcane, Jayvik, environmental lawyers AU - HexLaw Stories. As the title suggests it’s a prequel for the rest of the series where the characters are in law school. I adore this story. I think part of the reason I ran out of steam on it was because I was bummed about the lack of reaction it was getting. I could see returning to this series when Arcane season 2 comes out, so maybe I’ll end up finishing this.
Fic with the least words: Tie between Talk and Promise which have 360 words each. The Mystrade fandom has the 360MG format in which a story must be exactly 360 words and end with words starting with M and G. I’ve written 2 of them. I’m proud of both but hitting the word limit was really difficult.
Not going to tag anyone but if you feel like diving into your stats, I encourage you to do it!

Fic Writer 20 Questions
thank you for tagging me @forloveofcodywan (i've been wanting to do this one for a while)
under the cut so i don't plague your dash
1.) How many works do you have on ao3?
16 (i used to have >30 but i orphaned half of them bc i wrote them when i was 14 and nobody needs to see that)
2.) What’s your ao3 word count?
162,724
3.) What fandoms do you write for?
star wars all day babey. i dabbled in steve x bucky from 2017-2018 ish, but star wars has had my brain in a vice grip since 2015 (i was another victim to the sequels causing a sw renaissance).
4.) What are your top five fics by kudos?
the right feeling - from my finnpoe days :') this is part 1 of a soulmate au series. this one has 4.7k words.
i think i was blind before i met you - steve x bucky (damn we're going way back, this is 7 years old) modern au with barista steve and college student disaster bucky. 15k words.
please stay for awhile now - finnpoe, again for the win. this is part 2 of the soulmate au series. 5.6k words.
we should just kiss like real people do - finnpoe. this is the fourth and final part of the soulmate au series. hurt/comfort, recovery, all the good stuff. 8.2k words. (i suppose we all needed the soulmate finnpoe fluff in 2016, judging by these stats).
but through it all, i will need you anyways - current codywan WIP!! fix-it fic with just an insane amount of disgustingly tooth-rotting fluff. no clone death, just good feelings. this has been ENTIRELY self-indulgent and i started it when i got initial codywan brain rot. 64k words and counting!
5.) Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
oh my god yes, i love comments and it puts the biggest smile on my face knowing that people took time out of their day to write something nice for my little ramblings :')
6.) What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
jesus, literally none of them. i have to do happy endings, i'm too fragile. closest would be i hate you, fuck you, please never stop looking at me which is wolfwren PWP, except they still kinda hate each other at the end. (this barely counts because i am writing a follow-up that explores more of their feelings for each other and has a happy ending)
7.) What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
ALL OF THEM. idk what to tell you. probably the cheesiest ending is the dinluke modern soulmate au i just wrote - how did i ever live without you?
8.) Do you get hate on fics?
no, thank god. i keep things pretty vanilla and i tag very thoroughly to do my best to avoid any hurt feelings. (also i've just simply been lucky to never experience that)
9.) Do you write smut? If so what kind?
oh fuck yeah. 2/3 of my fics are explicit. mostly m/m, one f/f and two m/m/m. we have fun over here.
10.) Do you write cross overs? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
no, this would break my brain. next question.
11.) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
no, unless it has been and they're very good about hiding it (doubt it, tho. i'd be a weird choice to steal from)
12.) Have you ever had a fic translated?
no, but i would love it!
13.) Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
no, but i have been thinking more and more that i would love to do this!!
14.) What’s your all time favourite ship?
this is so hard. . i think codywan has been the one ship that has just slapped my across the face and gave me stockholm syndrome. I think about them.... All the Time. second closest would be finnpoe, judging on how many stories i wrote about them. and they just fit so well together and i adore their characters and they had so much chemistry and. (i'll stop now)
15.) What’s a WIP you’d like to finish, but doubt you ever will?
my brain will simply not allow me to leave a WIP uncompleted. by god, it's going to happen even if i am chaining myself to my laptop and typing through tears.
16.) What are your writing strengths?
i have received many compliments about my dialogue and smut scenes flowing very naturally :) i try to make them play like a movie and have it immersive enough that a character doesn't do/say something unnatural to make the reader stop and say wait what?
16.) What are your writing weaknesses?
oh god, PLOT and ANGST. can't do it for the life of me. i work best in oneshots so i can brain vomit and move on. i have a hard time planning out fics and i deeply envy writers that can create beautiful long fics in a timely fashion. i deeply lack the patience for something like that.
as for angst, yes i can technically do it, but it pains every cell in my body. just let the sad old gay men be happy.
17.) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
closest i have ever gotten is mando'a, but it's been very fun to learn!
18.) First fandom you wrote for?
oh boy. one direction (the aforementioned orphaned works).
19.) Favourite fic you’ve ever written?
i am cursed with "i immediately hate everything i write as soon as i release it" syndrome. recently, though, i was particularly proud of safe. warm. mine. because it was very outside of my comfort zone due to the involvement of three people and it was the first a/b/o i have written!
no pressure tags for @veelawings @apricusapollo @shy-wookiee. these are all the mutuals that write (that i know of) and haven't already been tagged (i think)! but please, anyone who i missed or who sees this and wants to chime in and tag me, please do!!!

an exercise in "thinking about vague shapes and gestures, how do i flesh that out" that took 4 days longer than i can spare. the companion sketch to the staircase AU scribble that i tinkered with almost every day since Sunday and now it's Friday and i had to tweak the layers 2 minutes ago, so.
seriously though. I really need to stop drawing and actually write like I've been meaning to since last month. get with the program, brain.

Episode 6? What episode 6? I don't know what you're talking about. Din needed help not slicing himself open with the Darksaber and went to the one person who seemed most willing to help.

They have a cheerleader and a snack.
Okay but real talk - I sketched the idea on my phone while waiting in the ER (it was an eventful Tuesday morning - for my mom, I'm all right and so is she!) and had been turning it into a finished doodle when TBOBF ep 6 dropped. Canon can do whatever it wants because I can do whatever I want, too.
P.S. the name of this file is "broad v twunk".

I really need to stop listening to my brain.

"Din needs to do some maintenance on his midlife crisis space bugatti and just happened to be near wherever in the galaxy Luke, Grogu, and Artoo are."
As irritated as I am with how The Book of Boba Fett is being handled, I'm also vibrating with so many thoughts and ideas and cannot draw fast enough. I also have a project with a looming deadline and also, uh, an entire fic to write, if you wanna know how bad I am at self-control.
This doodle came out of some very... spicy thoughts about the Naboo starfighter and negotiating tight spaces. I'm just horribly weak for sleek starships (looking at you, USS Enterprise).

Tagged by @ragnarlothcat (hey I hope you feel better soon! I am making you soup and lending you my favourite blanket!!) and @wibzenadarksiderwithasoftheart
1.) How many works do you have on ao3?
Technically 9 but it's really 8. I don't exactly count all tied up in knots as mine (more on this later)
2.) What's your ao3 word count?
82,315, excluding the fic above. I don't think I'll make it to 100k before the year is out, but it would be cool if I did
3.) What fandoms do you write for?
Just Star Wars, actually. I thought about writing fic in my last big fandom (The Witcher), but I didn't really feel motivated to write until SW. My first fic was actually DinLuke, but then I fell in love with the Prequels!
4.) What are your top five fics by kudos?
Tank Top - This is the DinLuke one! I guess it's in the lead cause it's got a 1-year headstart on everything else, maybe
Their fragrance came from you - Sir, that's my emotional support fic! I love this one to death, seriously. I know I kinda made my brand on kinky sex fics and this is very much not that, but...
Blindfold me (I'm the only witness) - I do feel like this one kinda embodies Obikin's insanity tbh. Weird boundary-crossing sex for sure
Lace Me Up, Hold Me Tight - Subby Obi-Wan in a healthy relationship my beloved <3
You can call me baby (You can call me love) - My first Obikin fic. Near and dear to my heart. Stands the test of time, I think. It's mostly just very sweet
5.) Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes, absolutely! I didn't used to, but now I try to reply to all of them, even if it's just with a few heart emojis.
A lot of the times when I read fic, I like to browse the comments to see speculation from other readers and what the author has to say about it.
Sooo I guess I reply to comments to spark conversation! I think it makes it a bit easier to ask questions / engage with the material as a reader, because they know I'll try to answer as best I can (and I do!!)
6.) What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
None of them!!! I don't believe in unhappy endings. Life is hard enough as it is
7.) What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I mean, they all have happy endings. But maybe Take Care of Me, Please? The idea of being loved and taken care of unconditionally is very appealing to me. I guess that's not surprising
8.) Do you get hate on fics?
Not directly on the fics themselves, but I have gotten, at this point, several anons criticising my writing and my fics here on tumblr. It's kind of exhausting because I feel like the obikin community itself seems so nice but SOMEONE is sending me these anons and it could really be anyone. It kind of makes me jump at shadows a little bit?
It's probably someone I don't know, rather than someone playing nice to my face and then sending me shit behind my back, but... What if it isn't? :(
9.) Do you write smut? If so what kind?
Yep yep yep. Like I said, that's where I started. I'm sure people who subscribed to me were disappointed when I started Their fragrance came from you and Obikin didn't have sex for like... 40k words
I've done a little bit of a lot of different kinks, I think. Lingerie, somno, humiliation, boot worship, lactation, daddy kink... There are a couple I really wanna do still (pet play, body swap, etc), but at the same time I kind of want to do more of the ones I've already done? So idk, we'll see where it goes
10.) Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Noooope. I'm very interested in AUs, but I'm just not interested in crossovers
11.) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Nah, I think that mostly happens to bigger authors, and I'm pretty new. I haven't noticed anything of mine anywhere else, but I also don't spend a lot of time on other fansites these days
12.) Have you ever had a fic translated?
Also no! It's a dream of mine, a little bit, but at the same time I see why no one would be particularly interested in translating anything I've written so far. No biggie
13.) Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
Okay this one is mixed. I have participated in round robins in an obikin server (that's what all tied up in knots is), but there was never any real commitment to writing those things. It was just based on whoever was free and had inspiration. I've actually been thinking I'll take my name off all tied up in knots, cause I don't particularly see that going anywhere, and I feel weird taking credit for it
HOWEVER. I would love to write a collab with someone I know. I'm not sure if I'd be any good at it, but I'd try!
14.) What's your all time favorite ship?
I do feel like it has to be Obikin. I'm honestly a multishipper when it comes to Obi-Wan, but I got tired of all the anti-Jedi sentiment in some of the popular pairings (which is the same problem I had with DinLuke), so now I stick mostly to Jangobi/Kenfetti and Obikin.
15.) What's a WIP you'd like to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Disregarding the whole round robin fic, I really do hope to finish all of them. Keeping this section optimistically blank!
16.) What are your writing strengths?
Hm... this question took me longest to come up with an answer. I guess it's worldbuilding and smut (which are sort of on opposite ends of the spectrum, lol)
Worldbuilding obviously is more of a thing in longer fics, but I feel like even in smaller ones I'm able to incorporate background details that I'm dangerously fond of. For example, the super soft blanket Obi-Wan is very territorial over in You can call me baby (You can call me love) is a gift from Ahsoka. And in Your Body, Superimpose It On Me, Anakin's Padawan braid is in an ornate glass box on Obi-Wan's nightstand, and Obi-Wan takes a moment to, like, caress the designs on the box every day.
17.) What are your writing weaknesses?
Well... I can only really write according to the mood I'm in. This was not a problem for a year or two there as I wrote shorter fics, but then I started writing Their fragrance came from you... At first, I was super depressed and so was Obi-Wan. And then the tone got lighter as I started feeling better. But then, you know, I have several chapters where the characters are supposed to be happy and light-hearted and suddenly I'm depressed again and I can't write the next chapters of my fic and then I get more upset about it because it's really important to me and it just becomes kind of a vicious cycle of feeling bad and not writing.
Maybe I need a separate sort of vent fic for when I'm upset? But again, I don't like unhappy endings. And if it has to get better at some point, then I'll have a hard time writing that unless I'm actually feeling better. If that makes sense.
18.) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Sooo I do definitely borrow words from other languages, but I always explain them first, and they're usually more like... concepts or objects that are specific to that culture. Of course the character is thinking/speaking those words in that language; there is no translation!
I've never had a reason to have whole sentences of dialogue be in different languages, but I guess if there was a fic which needed that, I wouldn't necessarily mind doing it? But the default is writing everything in english, because, yknow, the fic is in english
19.) First fandom you wrote for?
Okay I WAS gonna say that I already answered this with the dinluke thing. But I do remember writing fanfiction for Dinosaur King which (thankfully) never saw the light of day...
20.) Favorite fic you've ever written?
I feel like, as my only longfic, that's gotta be Their fragrance came from you. I know a lot of people write it off immediately because it's a/b/o (or even because it's supposed to be alpha Obi-Wan), but to me it's got everything. Enemies to lovers. Fun side characters. Pining. Battles. Betrayal. Romance. Sex. Even anti-heteronormativity!
To me it feels very much like I set out to (overambitiously) write an epic, and somehow I'm succeeding. I'm not saying it's the best fic that's ever been written, but it's far exceeded any expectations I had for it when I started.
Bonus: What fic would you want to rewrite one day?
Not necessarily rewrite, but I do wanna do edits to Lace me up, because the first few chapters are just not up to a comfortable standard of writing for me. And I'd be okay with leaving it that way if it was a standalone, but I really like its sequel. Plus I have some ideas for other fics in that series, so it would kind of put all that up to scrutiny again if/when I post a third installment
Tagging
Some of my friends already did this one and I'm not EXACTLY sure who has/hasn't been tagged yet, but (if you want): @anakinsthot @demon----dean @fishnamedsushi @secretsolarsystem

Note
for the deep fic writer asks: 2, 10, 16 & 19
2. what’s a fic that took you to an emotional/dark/hard place?
Oh god. I'm gonna have to go back quite a few years but I wrote two fics that I have a hard time revisiting. I really need to edit one, though, because I made a creative decision that didn't work.
A Deafening Distance is a Supernatural fic where Dean said yes to Michael, and Sam and Cas are left to pick up the pieces. There is a mini cast of OCs and I thought it would be funny to name the OCs after the actors but some people found it disorienting. I keep meaning to change that but I haven't been able to visit this fic and I posted it in 2010.
Wishing Well was a Cap Kink Meme fill back when kink memes were a huge thing on LJ. It's a CATFA fic and the prompt was "kissing lessons" and it's from Howard Stark's POV and I kept the ending the same as the movie so it was... it's really sad? But it's a good kind of sad, if that makes sense.
P.S. The ficmix I made for this fic still wrecks me.
10. how has writing positively impacted your mental health or overall mood?
All I can say is, if I can't write I'll go fucking mad. My brain is always on its bullshit. I maybe spent late elementary through early middle school obsessing over 1 ginormous crossover fic that I wrote in my head; it had its own soundtrack and score and the character voices I swear were on point and it was all I could think about. I still remember it all these years later because I never wrote it down. It seared itself in my head. Being able to write is like venting a pressure cooker and keeps me sane and focused.
16. Do you re-read old fics? Is there a time in your writing you won’t go back to?
I will not touch anything I wrote and posted to FFN. I refuse. But I'll re-read old fics I posted to AO3. I spent hours tracking down all my old Transformers fics in my old external HDDs to read and feel sad over the stories I wanted to tell but couldn't. I'll revisit the massive Tronfic that imo changed my life forever and is still my personal standard that I am always reaching for with my newer fics. I'll also click the back button on some of my fics because those stories just don't cut it for me anymore. It's nice to look back on your older work to see what held up, what didn't, what trends you kept, and how much you changed since you posted those fics.
19. If you could write an ideal fic, what would it include?
My ideal fic would have a deliciously slow burn romance against a plotty backdrop steeped in political conflicts and sociopolitical change/revolution. I think that's one of the reasons why I'm still going so hard and heavy for dinluke; I get so insane just thinking about the parallels between Din and Luke and their respective cultures/heritages, the play on "enemies to lovers" but on a generational scale where Din heard stories, where Mandalorian armor and weapons are designed to fight the Jedi, and Luke? Knows not enough because he has nothing but the teachings of two Jedi ghosts, whatever he can scavenge and salvage of the Jedi Order, stories from people who still remember the Jedi. Din is of an endangered people and Luke is of a nearly extinct people, and while Din tripped and fell into being the wielder of the Darksaber, Luke chose to try to reclaim and rebuild the Order. And they only crossed paths because Din sacrificed his covert for a Jedi youngling and went through hell to reunite Grogu with his kind. It's insane. They're insane. They drive me insane.
I am also so endlessly fascinated by this post-war galaxy, the rippling consequences of the Empire's downfall, the generational conflict between people who grew up while the Empire was in power vs. people who remembered the last years of the Galactic Republic, the struggles of a New Republic building on the ashes of the Empire and memories of the Galatic Republic, all the cartels and crime syndicates/organizations rushing in to get theirs, the displaced peoples either trying to come home or make a place for themselves in a turbulent galaxy, etc, etc, etc.
Uh. Yeah. I'm that kind of fic writer/fandom person.
Fuck that was a really long answer, oops.
Play ask games, win ask prizes.

Rules: list eight shows for your followers to get to know you better.
Tagged by @fenharel-enaste! ❤️
1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer. For sure formed much of my younger brain. I am that Saoirse Ronan still from Little Women saying "Women—!" except it's "Buffy—!"
2. Rome. I watch this at least once a year. It probably helps that I'm not a Romanist at all, so I don't nitpick the way I would something I am more of an expert in, but this show has some of the most memorable characters for me.
3. The Wire. Look, I know how annoying it is for people who haven't watched The Wire to get told ad nauseam that they HAVE to watch The Wire. I was one of those people. And then I watched The Wire. It's not exactly an abolitionist show, but it really helped unwind some of the copaganda I grew up with (ahem SVU).
4. Battlestar Galactica. I am rewatching this now, and I am more upset than ever before about the tragedy of Boomer. Also, I will always love Saul Tigh.
5. Station Eleven. I wept at both the grief and beauty. I can be very critical of adaptations of books I love, but I thought this was phenomenal.
6. The Killing / Forbrydelsen. This is sort of cheating, because I'm putting both the U.S. and Danish versions of this show, and they really are quite different shows, in my opinion. But I love them both. Both are incredible meditations on grief, love, trauma, and "imperfect" motherhood. Forbrydelsen is literally the reason I learned Danish.
7. Halt and Catch Fire. Aside from everyone in it being very hot, it has a gorgeous perspective on time and growth that I simply was not expecting and haven't felt in another show. I can't explain it very well, so just watch all four seasons tonight, thank you.
8. The Good Place. I can't even think about the finale to this show without crying. It also made me think deeply about the nature of punishment, judgment, and my ever-present fear of death, while also giving us the greatest trolley problem joke I've ever heard.
Honestly, only eight shows was really hard for me, because I LOVE television and do not believe in movies except the ones I've already seen.
Tagging with no pressure: @brasideios, @ainulindaelynn, @fikali, @mimbotomy, @alethiometry, @findusinaweek, @aquila-v, @dinluke, @ladyinthebluebox, @reiverreturns and I'll stop there so I don't spam everyone I know (I just really like television, okay?) but would love to hear from anyone else who wants to play!

20 questions for fic writers
Tagged by @spicedrobot!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
26!
2. What's your total A03 word count?
561,816
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Star Wars. I wrote OFMD and some Tolkien but I don't often stray outside my main.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Curse of Hospitality, an OFMD Stede x Izzy fic about Stede taking care of Izzy while he's sick. I wrote it for the approximate one month I was into the show haha.
Found, a BobaDin fic where Boba is deaf. Actually one of the first fics I did for Star Wars!
Mand'alor Darasuum, a DinMaul longfic where Maul saves Grogu from Gideon instead of Luke. This is probably the fic I'm proudest of and enjoyed writing the most. :)
Stardust Legacies, a DinLuke fic that I'm always very close to deleting. I am glad I wrote it for a lot of reasons, but it needed way more work than it got and I don't have the energy nor desire to improve it. But hey, some people really like it.
Memories of Water, an ObiMaul longfic where they train Luke on Tatooine together. Super happy with this one.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I respond always. I just think it's good form. I'm also looking for community in the fandom, not just one-sided praise.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Fateful Absence, most likely. It's not really angsty? It's just not a happy ending. I'm not a whump person tbh.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Ferine Love Language! It's the sweetest ending more than the happiest I think, but it's the one that makes me happiest.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Yes, on DinLuke fics, from DinLuke fans. Outright flames, weird/entitled comments, pestering for updates or bitching about creative choices. I stopped being interested in the pairing once I discovered TCW thankfully, because honestly it just wasn't a nice community.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I do! But not often. I tend to write awkward sex. I think it's more fun to write about first times realistically.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Nope!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not for a long time. In my former fandoms I had some stuff translated into Chinese but that's all I remember.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Again, a long time ago. I would absolutely love to collaborate on Star Wars fics sometime though. :)
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
Realistically, probably ObiMaul. But DarthFett is an extremely close second. They're both wonderful but in completely different ways.
15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
An ObiMaul (or) JangObi dating sim. I wrote/coded probably 70k of it and it was good, but dating sims are obviously a bit more likely to get litigated against, among other things. I'd really love to do something with it, given that we had some great art for it, but I'm not sure how that will pan out.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Long stories. I feel like I'm good at pacing a story and bringing together plot threads into a cohesive ending.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
SHORTER STORIES. I really struggle with oneshots. I've written quite a few but it always takes so much longer. I can sit on a oneshot for months and months before feeling like it's finished.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I think it can be done well, but don't just stick stuff into google translate and hope for the best. I think using Mando'a words for texture, for instance, can be really good.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Oh man. Silence of the Lambs, I think?
20. Favorite fic you've ever written?
Faith's Fetters. It's the only fic that I've really done a deep dive into the potential relationship between Vader and Maul. I think it's the most interesting fic I've written, too.

Wip Title Tag
Rules: Post the names of all the files in your WIP folder regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them and then post a little snippet of it or tell them something about it! And then tag as many people as you have wips
Tagged by @sinfulskywalker !!!
I am by no means a fanfic author so forgive me with how unorthodox this game of tag goes lol. I only have one wip in an actual canvas so far, but I do have some ideas on future wips so I guess I’ll list those first!
Wip Ideas:
A continuation of the Hades/Persephone DinLuke AU : Zeus as Padme, Anakin as Demeter, Leia as Athena, (tbh that’s all I have for now w/ rules being changed with gods created abstractly from the main gods or the Force rather than a birthing process to avoid everyone being related haha)
Vampire and Hunter DinLuke
Sith Obi-Wan and a Force healed Darth Vader/Anakin
More fanart based on fanfics but I don’t wanna say who because honestly there’s multiple lol
Lastly, a wip that I never finished from @thewriterowl ‘s work in Like Flurries on Gold
Tumblr media
I sadly don’t think I can really tag anyone else in this game so sorry to be such the party pooper. Everyone that comes to mind have already played and I’m so late!

What's your opinion on dinbo? I've been seeing some legit unhinged interpretations of it lately
i personally dislike it. i think it does no good for either of their characters, and while i understand why some people like it, i just personally can't stand it. and it's not that i hate either din or bo in this scenario, but it's mostly because the dinbo fandom is... really... well. how do i say this.
once i found a dinbo art of them making out (it was hella detailed and impressive btw) with the caption "take me to church" 💀 like... guys... that song is for gay people. that song is a GAY ANTHEM. you can't just use that for your comphet ship 😭 it made my blood boil. that, along with the fact that dinbo shippers are using the "clan of three" tag?? that's so wrong. clan of three was coined by the dinluke fandom (dincobb slightly as well) and i don't think it's really that great to take another fandom ship tag yk? maybe i'm just overreacting. i just feel like dinbo is really comphet and i dislike that a lot. also like imagine going through your fandom ship tag looking for some family/clan stuff for your ship and you find a completely different ship overtaking the entire tag that had been used for your ship since forever? that's how i felt seeing dinbo coming to rise. it's not even about the ship at this point, it's about the fandom and how i feel like they're shoving their comphet shit down our throats.
and i often see arguments like "you guys just hate straight ships!" and stuff like that but it's like ??? no??? i don't care about straight or gay ships or whatever. literally does not matter to me. anidala? love it. obitine? love it. dinluke? love it. barrisoka? love it. nitearmor? love it. dincobb? love it. kanera? love it. it's literally not about gay ships or straight ships, it's about the fact that these characters who literally hate each other are being shipped and that content is being forced in everyone's faces.
anyway bo-katan was really racist in general (esp to boba fett) and she called din's covert a cult, which does NOT fly with me. she invalidated him and his devotion to the creed. she was so clearly set up to be an antagonist before s3 came out, idk why they switched it up so suddenly. while they work well together, i don't ship them at all really. at MOST i'll accept like a really weird friendly rivalry but i don't like seeing them together. i do have mutuals who ship them and i don't really care if someone does or not, but i personally dislike seeing it. i'll leave it at that.
