I'm the guy that does the funny draws (and music (and sometimes edits)).
Some of you have definitely heard that line way too many times before. Or some of you probably just know me as the Simple Yet Stupid guy. If you haven't seen me before, congratulations! You've successfully met "that guy" (me) for the first time!
This is my tumblr. I reblog stuff I think is neat and post art/music/stuff I like once every [unspecified time frame]. I dipped (sort of) from Twitter (ah, sorry一ECKS [X] as it's called now) like a year or two ago because some guy had too much fun ruining it. Now I'm here more often!

I'm also not very consistent with it, but I'm a bit less open about it... I do it for fun, really; though it's more of a personal thing compared to my art.

“Are you sure doing it here is a good idea?”
Your niece whispered as she stood on the other side of the shed with your fiancé. Eddie nodded his head and looked around before reaching into his pocket.
“Listen don’t tell your auntie or your mother I’m letting you try this. Your mother will hurt me and your auntie.” Eddie paused for a moment thinking before he shuddered.
“I don’t even wanna go there. But I mean come on you’re sixteen. Almost an adult it won’t hurt to try a few puffs right? And at least it’s with me and not some punk.”
“What are we supposed to say if they smell it on me?”
“That’s what the mints, cologne and perfume are for, what you think I brought this stuff for the hells of it? Nah it’s to save both our asses.”
Eddie would chuckle lifting the bag, it was nearing dusk outside. So there was less chance of getting caught, Eddie fumbles with the lighter trying to light it with the cigarette hanging out his mouth.
“This fuckin lighter is worthless, next time I’m not sending your auntie to buy one. I love that woman to death but god she can’t pick a zippo from a regular broke-ass gas station one.”
“Why didn’t you just tell her that?”
“Are you nuts? My ass would be in the dog house and I like sleeping in my bed. Besides, I wouldn’t get a piece of… you know what I’m not gonna explain the rest of it to you 'cause you don’t need to know none of that.”
After a few more attempts he finally gets the shit lit and then the two spend the next twenty minutes trying to get your niece used to it. She was practically coughing up a lung which caused Eddie to chuckle.
“Don’t inhale so sharply you aren’t used to it. Take it nice and slow there’s no rush.”
Showing her how it’s done your niece was starting to loosen up enough, she began unloading about all the pressure that she’d been feeling lately. The jerks at school, how she couldn’t find an outfit for the big dance coming up.
He’d blow a ring of smoke up looking at the sky for a minute then back at her smiled and ruffling her hair.
“So much to worry about in one so young, I get it tho. People think just cause you’re a teen that you shouldn’t have issues or things to worry about apart from school. But that’s bullshit.”
Shaking his head as he inhaled than passed the cigarette over.
“Yous teenagers got a lot of shit to stress about. Grades, peer pressure, graduating, driving, sex and all that other shit that comes with being a teen.
Just remember tho Uncle Eddie is always in your corner, each time life knocks you down. Just stand up, brush the dirt off ya shirt and flip them middle fingers up.”

❥ okay first of all, bennett absolutely adores you! after going on countless adventures alone all these years, it's refreshing to see a new face-- especially when you came up to him on your own (he almost cried then, but you can't really blame him, he was just!! happy!!)
❥ that said, there was always a reason for his loneliness and distance from his peers. though it appears you were daring enough to go against some other adventurers harsh “warnings” (ehem ehem royce ehem) surrounding him, and still signing up despite what they all said.
❥ while adventuring, there is *never* a dull moment with bennett, but that could mean either good or bad. he’s generally a very charismatic person, and he’s learned to make light of even the darkest situations, so of course being with him is fun! but when his infamous luck starts kicking in, there's a chance you might find yourselves accidentally falling into the lair of a resigvine, or accidentally picking a whopper flower instead of a piece of mint, or it starts to rain while you're fighting a cryo abyss mage…
❥ but he tries to make up for it! he’ll take you to his favorite places that he’s seen on his travels, buy you your favorite food (not cook, he’s scared he’ll mess it up and potentially feed you something bad,) or maybe bring you your favorite flowers and little gifts for you to show that he's happy you're adventuring with him <3
❥ adding onto the last point, bennett has gotten to know many of mondstadt's beautiful sceneries over the years. sure, you might get lost every once in a while, but you can always count on him to take you to beautiful places he found on his previous journeys! after all, it's never too bad to get sidetracked every once in a while to see one of mondstadt's hidden jewels, right?
❥ you're also gonna get to know his other friends!! there are really chill hangouts in the forest sometimes with fischl and razor tagging along with you, its overall just a really fun time! fischl and bennett are there so don't count on any moments where there isn't a fun conversation talking your ears off, and although razor doesn't understand a lot of what they're saying, he thinks it's nice being with people that don't think he's weird & he can eat happily with :')
❥ if you ever get injured while adventuring with him, he'll feel bad for weeks. whether it was a small scratch or a slightly more severe injury, he'll apologize thousands of times to you, still blaming himself. he might keep his distance for a while if you need time to recover, thinking more bad things will happen if you're near him, so please reassure him that it wasn't his fault and you don't blame him
❥ please. im begging you to tell him you're happy adventuring with him. this boy needs to hear that after being alone because of his luck for so long and even just one person telling everyone else's negative comments otherwise would mean the world to him :(

one of my pet peeves for modern aus is the ones where they make izzy ed's best friend or longtime friend because if ed's gonna have one... its jack. it's literally supported by canon. like put izzy and jack next to the revenge crew and your answer for who fits in better is jack, whose only crimes in the show were trying to pull ed away from stede and committing seagull murder (all of which to save ed in a plan IZZY made) im so salty about all the hate jack gets in fics
Oh for sure. My least favoriate thing ever is when people put Izzy in another character's position. Jack is Ed's buddy at the very least. Izzy is just a coworker. Jack is who Ed would choose to hang out with 100% of the time if his options are Jack or Izzy. Also if you're gonna give Ed a best friend who is antagonistic to his new boyfriend, Stede and Jack being mean to each other is so much more fun in my personal opinion because Stede is mean to Izzy and Izzy's head explodes and steam starts coming out of his ears like he's in a cartoon and he yells something incoherent, where as Jack and Stede can have a bitchy little back and fourth that leaves Jack crying for sympathy and Stede's self esteem buried six feet under. It truly is the dynamic ever.
I don't usually have a problem with Jack hate in fics actually because jack is hateable and there often needs to be a villain, and in Our Flag so far the roster of villains has been Izzy, Jack, and the interchangeable badminton twins. Maybe the rich french fuckers but I don't want to give them that much credit tbh. so you know he's one of three and a half bad guys so I get it. However! there is one trope that frustrates me, and I think the main reason that it frustrates me is because its a trope that I hate with all of my guts and is pernicious in the calicobeard tag and that is the idea that Ed and Jack's relationship was non-consentual. There are tons of reasons to hate him, you don't have to turn him into a rapist. That's my pet peeve and my line. Otherwise yeah he's a villain, good. I like it when he causes problems. It's my favorite thing.
That being said I do think he's the most easily rehabilitated villain out of every villain in ofmd (I'm only counting Nigel, Chauncey, Izzy, and Jack as villains.) Simply because he's a pirate that we frankly don't actually know that much about. We don't even know why he's doing this. Yeah Izzy probably slid him a slice of that sweet sweet navy money under the table, but for all we know Izzy had that meeting with Jackie and Chauncey, found Jack afterwards and went "Hey man, so me and Blackbeard are on the outs right now and he's got this new boyfriend who is being super hunted by the British navy, the boyfriend is a rich guy and I know how much you hate those. But anyway Blackbeard doesn't know that Stede is being hunted and I just told them where they can find them so somebody should probably go get Blackbeard out of there and it shouldn't be me, because he's mad at me right now." and Jack said "Oh my god, you made a deal with the british navy? I'm gonna love watching Blackbeard kick your ass when I bring him back here. I'm going to now go do some insane shit to save his life again. Yeah sure I'll make sure the boyfriend dies just so that Beardy doesn't run back and get his ass killed, but only if you slide me a few dubbies for my troubles." It's also possible that he's full chaotic evil joker mode and when Izzy told him the plan he went "Yeah alright, haven't seen Beardy in a while could be funny." We simply do not know. Is he destitute because he's been mutinied three times and he needs the money? Has he never been mutinied in his entire life and he's minted because he's Calico fucking Jack and he's just here for shits and giggles? I tend to go with the "he cares about Ed" reading because I want to fuck him, but it's up to you. His backstory is wide open baby. What we do know Ed likes him a lot actually, Ed cares about him and Stede getting along. We know he saved Ed's life, even if he does hold it over his head because he's a shit head(although how often he does that is also a question mark, there's so much blank space to work with with him, he can be anything you want him to be other than nice).
And you know what, until the thing with Karl the crew liked him too. The crew never liked Izzy, whatever Jack's got going on is way more compatible with the crew than Izzy, and yet I see all these fics and headcanons where the idea that Izzy will stick around after all of this is over is just taken for granted. But they could easily forgive Jack if he sucked Ed's dick, moonbathed with Buttons, and slid Olivia some birdseed because he's funny and cool and Ed's buddy. Where as Izzy can never ever be trusted in a million years, he was never fun to be around, and no one likes him. (I'm sure Jack and Ed have fucked each other over before, they're messy bitches.)
Now I don't think Jack's getting rehabilitated in cannon, in fact we're probably never gonna see him again. I'm hoping for a flashback but I won't hold my breath. It's part of why I'm writing I'm Not Going Anywhere. Because somebody needs to put this man through the st*ddyhands treatment and it's not gonna happen in the show, so it is the realm of fanfiction and no one else is doing it. Jack was fucking built for an enemies to lovers because he's the kind of man who stands too close to his romantic rival at the urinals to prove his dick is bigger. Enemies to lovers is incredibly fun to do with Jack and Izzy because Izzy is eminently bullyable and also the kind of guy belongs in one of those "don't bully me I'll cum" shirts, but it can also be fun to do with Stede "pissboots" Bonnet. I'm not sure if INGA is going that direction I haven't decided yet, but someone should do it post haste I'm so serious.
I don't necessarily want everyone to see him how I see him. I'm fine with being his only apologist. back in april the universe decided he'd gone long enough being the most hated character and decided he needed one apologist and it spun the wheel of OFMD fans and it landed on me and I became the public defender appointed to him. I am over worked and underpaid and he is a terrible client. I have made him take a plea deal on the Karl murder charge.
This has gotten unhinged thank you for letting me chew on Calico jack for like 25 minutes.

not to be all like “people who say uncle is a bad show dont get it”, But. honestly? if you say something like that im going to assume that you gave up on it before you finished the first season. so like, spoilers all for the end of season 1 (and trigger warnings for suicide, substance abuse, overdose, cancer).
the show is about andy growing and becoming a better person and learning to take responsibility through his relationship his nephew errol. yes hes annoying and a scumbag and unlikeable at the start, but its not like hes Winning; the show literally opens with him about to kill himself.
there are a number of turning points throughout uncle. first of all his decision Not to cut the string and electrocute himself and instead pick up the phone when his sister (sam-- she is also strongly contending with val [and bruce] for my favourite character. shes divorced shes in rehab she loves facebook she has a pinterest board for her imaginary horse sanctuary she loves her son above everything. there are many characters that help to make uncle watchable [at least while andy is still a grade a prick] but genuinely sam and her unparalled older sister ability to tease andy and call him out on his shit) calls him. sam needs him to pick errol up from school and take him to football practise because her uni class has run late and errol is Very Neurodivergent (ocd in the show, i think he is also probably autistic. errol is also one of the best characters and written so well. never once did i think ‘this is a child actor’) and cant have his routine disrupted, and because it could blow her custody case.
so he picks up errol, because he does have Nothing Better Going On, and then continues to have him tag along on little schemes while babysitting or chaperoning him. which is a little bit irresponsible, sure, but errol grows to enjoy hanging out with andy through their combined interest in music and playing together in val’s battle of the bands (their band btw is called “the bear maximum”, based off of the cutest and most genuinely charming joke in the entire show, which was told by an 11 year old errol when andy suggested that he try telling a joke to impress a girl that he likes [”what’s the bare minimum? // one bear”]).
and for a while its all well and good, wacky hijinks following andys love life and errols social life, kids birthday parties, andys struggling music career; they continue to play together in a band and eventually the duo get noticed by a record label. andy, 3 weeks late on his rent, is thrilled and drags errol-- who is really into dental hygeine right now and made a laminated schedule of the weekend and just wants to get sushi and go to the planetarium-- along to the meeting, where its revealed that the label executive mo khan (kayvan novak) is actually only interested in errol. errol is adamant that he can explain the situation to andy, and mo khan gives him a tin of branded breath mints, but errol fails to do so before the record labels mixer party the next day.
at the party, mo khan separates errol and andy, taking errol to the vip room while an intern distracts andy outside to keep him from making a scene when he inevitably finds out. inevitably, he finds out, and makes a scene, leaving errol in the care of mo khan. mo has errol perform a song for the other vips and errol very enthusastically bangs out an utter tune he wrote about salmonella and e. coli and proper food safety, but the vips are bewildered. errol runs off and finds himself back in the executives office, and goes looking for more breathmints, at which point he find a load of little white breathmint sized pills in the desk and takes far too many.

andy punches mo khan in the face for laughing at errol having an overdose and errol is rushed to hospital. fucking thankfully he survives, but its going to blow sams custody case out of the water and errol very well could never see his mother again, and its at this point where it really stares you in the face that errol is a child, and he is to some extent reliant upon andy and all the other adults in his life, and that andy had better get his fucking act together like the rest of them or else hell just continue to hurt people.
this is followed, in typical andy fashion, by a dramatic gesture wherein he storms the custody hearing to take responsibility for his actions, proclaim that that sam doesnt deserve to be punished for believing that there would be no way that andy would be irresponsible enough to take a 12 year old to a party with drugs, and that its his fault for continuously bending over backwards to hit new lows, that its his fault, his fault alone, and that he swears never to go near errol ever again.
a restraining order is placed upon him at errols dads request, one which andy is happy to honour. errol is the one who fudges the bus times to go to andys flat in the year timeskip between the end of season 1 and the start of season 2 to play video games with him. and thats all they do; andy doesnt take him out anywhere, doesnt bring him on adventures. he gets a job at carpet brothers and he stops living excuse to excuse and he calms down. errol is the one who wants the restraining order lifted, because despite everything andy is the only one who really gets him. hes shared custody and he doesnt have any siblings, and he doesnt have any friends either besides bruce’s stepdaughter tiff, who he isnt the closest with and who also doesnt have any friends besides errol. errol is a fairly high-strung (in some ways very Grown Up Already) kid, but hes still a kid, and andy is the only person he can really be A Child around. this is in part because of andys childishness, but that means that andy is forced to grow in order to make way for someone elses needs now.
in episode 1, andy sarcastically suggests that errol “get some [whiskey] down ya”. by the end of the season 3, hes sober. he starts reading feminist literature (im pretty sure. its one moment and he . he joins sam at her NA meetings, and when now 15/16 year old errol, who is acting out and just got an illegal tattoo of sams name, asks him for a cigarette outside the hospital where sam has cancer he refuses and fights him to keep him away from it.
just, please give this show a chance. its got a lot of heart and a lot to say about family, and it doesnt all come from val.

i recommend that, as well as Hiroshima by John Hersey; it's a nonfiction book written like fiction, following people who survived the atomic bomb and the aftereffects they felt
