Any Saiyuki fans still out there? (✦ ‿ ✦) I'm on the Saiyuki Kagekiden hyperfixation at the moment because Saiyuki Kagekiden Gaiden just wrapped up it's performances. ( ﾟஇ‸இﾟ)ﾟ｡ I love this series so so much and felt super nostalgic; therefore, I wanted to share my copies of the Kagekiden performances to my fellow Saiyuki fans out there!

Ayukawa Taiyou random facts?

I chose Mithra as my starting character and i have been obsessed with him. Of course while watching mahosute i came to really like his actor! i call him ayu san, ayukawa san, or ayu. people tend to call him Taiyou kun or just Taiyou. how i write his name depends on my mood and sometimes i get affected by how the people who interact with him call him. but yeah! him!

Since this is a personal archive kinda? it will not be very organized. i'll think about organizing it later. feel free to correct me, fellow ayu san enjoyers.

Name: Ayukawa Taiyou (鮎川太陽); His name, Taiyou, means the Sun in Japanese!

DoB: January 18th 1991; Every time he sees the number 118 he will immediately go "!!! ohh!! my birthday!" (jp date format is yyyy/mm/dd hence the 1/18-->118)

Height: 188 cm; He's taller than Mithra by 1 cm! his arms and legs are also very long. People tend to comment on how long his legs are (common praise for tall people especially models)

Aside from butai, he also does voice acting, modeling, and movie/tv actor.

(observation) He touches his earrings a lot when he is thinking about something

People tend to get intimidated by his height thinking he's a scary person.

(observation) He laughs a lot. like, a LOT. his humor standard is on the ground.

He mentioned that when he was a teenager, he was very edgy and hated interacting with people so most of the time he just try to erase his presence and minimize any interaction.

His sister is a flight attendant

He has crazy sweet tooth! he loves his sweets! (which is a nice gap moe because the stereotype in japan is that men don't really like sweet stuffs. then we have this 188 cm guy who enjoys eating really sweet pastries)

he has very low alcohol tolerance! he mentioned that half a can of beer can make him tipsy

Prefers mashed potato with his steak than fried potato

He used to work as a bartender for 5 years in famous expensive drinking areas in Tokyo

(observation) when he is thinking or listening, he tends to look at random places and not at the camera or his speaking partner. maybe he's looking at the staffs!? i want to know what he's looking at!

because people tend to be scared of him because he's tall, he always tries to do cheerful greetings in new environments/locations to show that he's friendly. but, depending on what kind of role he has, he might try to match the character's aura like being calmer and cooler when greeting as Mithra's actor.

he has a streaming series called Taiyou no Uchuu channel (Taiyou's universe, which might be a pun to his name). it airs once a month on his agency's official niconico channel. if you are not a member, you can only watch the first 30 mins of his streams. https://ch(.)nicovideo(.)jp/productionTV

James kun (shylock's actor) mentioned that they are very close

(observation) When he looks down, his right eye closes a bit more than his left. i think this feature of him is really cute.

when traveling by plane, he prefers to use ANA over JAL

He used to be very insecure about his height and deep raspy voice because people keep commenting on it and sometimes make fun of it. but now, he's very proud of these features of his!

He takes good care of his belongings! he said that he always make sure to get clothes he doesn't wear a lot cleaned at least once a year. this includes clothes he received from events when he was in highschool

ayu is good at planning and taking care of schedule, but he's forgetful about his stuffs! in a recent (march 2024) skiing trip, he forgot his clothes in the skiing place coin locker and didn't notice until after he's on his way home(how??)

he can't resist the temptation of sales bargain... even if he doesn't really need it, he will attempt to buy stuffs if it is on sale! he will enter a store, look at the discounted products, take pics of the ones that caught his eyes, and went on to the next store to compare the product/price and will go back to the best one later by looking at the pictures

apparently he enjoys cheaper stuffs (cheap taste if you will lmao). He did "guess which one is more expensive" game on one of his streams and almost everything he likes better is the cheaper items! (he lost the game because of this)

he used to attend a wine-tasting class but he gets drunk really quickly when drinking wine so he stopped going

he likes collecting merch of the characters he played! he's happy when fans give him a box of gacha merch for him to open himself. he also enjoy collecting pokemon cards. sometimes he opens merch gacha with a guest on his stream and make a bet on who can get more characters of their choice.

ayu has so many store point cards that he put all of the point cards in a TCG deck guard box

ayu is well-organized and well-prepared. on a stream where he was asked to show viewers what was in his bag, there were A LOT of stuffs (his bag must be really heavy). from notes, make up, medicine, butai manuscript, etc.

he likes chocolate-flavored stuffs

he used to be in a boy-group as a teenager before becoming a full-time actor (2002-2007)

in 2024, he was contacted by a former group member from his boy-group but the message was so sus he thought it was a scam message. he posted about it on twitter and got a reply from the actual person saying the message is legit. (i like how his first reaction to the sus message is to post about it on twitter and asking everyone if this is legit lmaooo)

on one of his streams, he said that he missed streaming and interacting with his fans even though it hasn't been that long since his last stream. then he said "i wonder why?? are you guys my partner or something lmao???" (reminder that parasocial relationship goes both ways :'))

UGH ugh uuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh god the stage mtr scene i never stop thinking about was their rep live skit, the last one i think????? where dohifu got into hijinks trying to stop sensei from doing his job bc they were worried he’d consumed alcohol via treats hifumi brought

they wound up circling him and then lifting him off the ground in a very strange but hilarious sequence of events and jakurai laughingly told them it’d been a very long time since he’d been carried in any sort of fashion and he thanked them for bringing fun into his life EXCEPT!!!!!! ITS AN AD-LIB AND IM CERTAIN THAT WAS AYUKAWA-SAN TOUCHED BY HOW MUCH FUN HE WAS HAVING WITH THEM I HATE IT HERE

i can’t remember which day of bop2023 it was but in that mad scramble of wardrobe changes he accidentally had a button left undone on his tdd jakurai shirt and i know how that sounds that i noticed it but the way he smoothly buttoned it as he descended stairs is even more seared into my brain lmao

ayukawa-san is buff as hell lmao the ease at which he carried ramuda during king of kings was immaculate lmao and i’m not strong enough to pretend like i didn’t imagine a gym bros hitojaku au based on how swole they are lmao

he breached the 190cm mark in height and the way he reacts to others reacting to his height cracks me up lmao throwback to that one time he walked in to record bright and dark i think and one of the staff just blurted out, ‘you’re huge!!!!!’ and ayukawa-san responded, ‘i sure am!!!!! 😃’ LOL

in the interest of talking about the other actors i’m cutting myself off but i’m not joking when i say i hate here pls i always quote this but hayami-san was so right when he said the stage actors can’t just be easily replaced, they are the characters for a lot of people too 😭😭😭😭

hirofumi-san’s hifumi was peak host ngl lol

the bat and mtr actors got along insanely well after their play and the way hirono-san and ide-san bullied hirofumi-san only for it to just like, bounce off the man bc he was that self assured and a diva is so funny lmao but that’s exactly why his host hifumi was flawless lol

not that his hifumin wasn’t fun either!!!!!!! stage hifumin doesn’t get to be as silly as his canon counterpart so i can’t blame hirofumi-san for that lol

but his switch from hifumin to host is so insane like i don’t have words to describe how it rotted my brain tbh lmao

so like, i definitely mourned kodai-san’s doppo when he left the role but ik it was bc i liked how obvious he played doppo’s crush on jakurai LOL

ide takuya had me by the balls the moment i saw him tho but we’ll get back to that in a sec lol i still weep over the puppy dog eyes kodai-san always gave sensei lol

throwback to that time he asked sensei to pump his stomach (iirc) and was very disappointed when jakurai shot him down before he could finish the sentence LOL

vocally, i like his doppo a smidge 🤏 better like his screaming hits different than ide-san’s and i do find myself missing it sometimes listening to stage mtr’s older songs lol

but enough about him let’s talk about idedoppo LOL

i’m not kidding when i say i stanned from the the moment i saw him but i am uniquely weak to long haired punks you can’t put him in front of me and expect me to not accept him immediately LOL

#vee queued to fill the void #my love for stage mtr was a relic of being obsessed with them before bat changed my life #but it’s transcended solely because of ayukawa-san tbh lmao #i didn’t even talk about the stage’s writing for jakurai lmao he’s a well meaning asshole LOL #his writing and kuukou’s being connected a little was one of the few aspects of kuukou’s i appreciated lol #sensei’s always had bad foot in mouth syndrome but it’s RLY bad in stage since i feel like he experiences consequences for it lol #or experiences them more overtly which is fun lol #since i’m so insane about stage mtr i really can’t imagine being as crazy about the new set lol #like i have nothing to say lol 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 good luck godspeed to them tho 👍

Hypnosis Mic -D.R.B.- Rule the Stage (Jet Set Trio vs. Matenro)

Sypnosis:

After progressing through the qualifying rounds and being accepted as the ones who will represent Aoyama Division in the D.R.B., the Jet Set Trio practices day in and out as they eagerly, yet patiently wait to find out who their opponents will be in the first round.

On one of the days when the group takes a break from practice, Tomi Chōten, leader of Jet Set Trio, receives word from his mother about trouble brewing in Aoyama. Apparently, someone is buying up all of the major businesses in the city. Normally, that would be no cause for alarm, but all of them are businesses that the Chōtens have either purchased stocks in or are partners with. As a result, the family's finances have dwindled. Tomi is put in charge of finding out who is behind this, and getting them to stop it, which he accepts. He tells his teammates, Karada Kessaku and Luis Kōkyū to keep their ears to the ground and report back if they hear anything.

Meanwhile, Luis, who is taking a smoke break from work in his restaurant, comes into contact with Hifumi Izanami, a member of the Shinjuku Division rap team, Matenro. The two speak for a while until Luis asks Hifumi if he knows anything about the individual who is buying up parts of Aoyama. Hifumi states he doesn't know anything and almost seems afraid to speak about it. When Luis asks again, the host's response is the same and he quickly bids farewell, leaving the chef puzzled and suspicious.

Later on in the day, Luis contacts his friend, Rashaad Young of the Okinawa Division, and asks if he could find out information on who it is that's buying up parts of Aoyama. Rashaad states that he can ask around, though it'll take some time. A few days pass before Rashaad informs Luis that the only thing he was able to find out was that the person was affiliated with Chuohku. Luis relays the information to Tomi; both he and his mother are incensed by this news, not surprisingly. While his mother tries to gain more information from inside the government, Tomi and the JST head to Shinjuku to get Hifumi, who they suspect may know something about this individual, to talk.

Arriving in Shinjuku, the three men make their way to Hifumi's place of work, the "Fragrance" Host Club. Upon arriving, Luis, once more, tries to get the host to tell him and his friends about this individual from Chuohku. Luis tells him that there is no use lying, as Hifumi obviously knows something about this person just from his behavior, which says that he must fear them for some reason. Before Hifumi can spill the beans, he is saved by his teammates, Jakurai Jinguji and Doppo Kannonzaka.

Although Luis tries to keep the situation from escalating, Tomi, who is at his wit's end, is done relying on diplomacy and decides to force Hifumi and the rest of Matenro to talk. A rap battle between the two teams ensues, leaving them both exhausted and the host club in need of repairs. The JST decide to retreat for today. As they do, Hifumi feels a familiar chill in the air that frightens him.

News of the conflict makes its way to Chuohku, and as a result, it is now announced that Matenro will face the Jet Set Trio in the next battle of the D.R.B. As both teams prepare, they are unaware of a sly and manipulative woman who is gleefully enjoying the spectacle from the shadows. Will the Aoyama team be able to defeat the Shinjuku team and get the answers they seek? Or will Matenro show the JST just why they were the former champions?
