Insane.

Based on the true story of computer hacker Kevin Mitnick. In this movie Kevin is played by Skeet Ulrich dressed up as Finster from The Usual Suspects.

He is a total hacker for the people and the man cant wait to arrest him therefore.

While on the run from the authorities he bites off more than he can chew when he takes on security expert/ former hacker, Tsutumo.

They start up a serious feud and go back and forth seeing who can hack harder.

Strangely, Kevin uses his advanced hacking abilities to send Tsutomo threatening messages saying he is going to kill him and mocking his Chinese accent.

Its often very hard to understand why Kevin is the hero. Hes mental and he yells at everyone.

At one point he meets a lovely waitress. They go out and after a while start to kiss. He stops as he wants them to hack into a strangers phonecall and listen together. She politely says shed rather not but he insists. Its a call of a man threatening to brutally murder a woman. He laughs and says that wasnt the best call. Doesnt bother to anonymously call the cops. He then calls the waitress a bitch when she says she has to go to bed as she has a test in the morning.

This movie is hilariously bad. Great 2000s vibes. Should be sold in a two pack with 2001 hacking bonanza "Antitrust". A few good supporting cast members like Ethan Suplee and Jeremy Sisto.

Bootleg copies of this film are often advertised as "Hackers 2: Takedown", despite it not being a sequel to Hackers.
