Torturing myself with thoughts of Durge potentially having a very unintended experience the first time she goes on that little weave date with Gale.

What if she intends to kiss him in the weave, but her fractured mind conjures up the image of Gortash instead after she pulls away.

It's who she really wants, she just doesn't remember.

Gale is none the wiser, until the weave slips away to reveal a panicked Durge...

in some ways! they’re very alike, people endlessly said so, and keir always tried to be very like him. he was a good kid, all ser yes ser! he thought the world of his father and his father thought the world of him. but malcolm didn’t say that

keir’s malcolm’s not verbally expressive and he’s not even physically affectionate the way keir is. (you get sort of, like, pats on the back and a firm hand on the shoulder and an arm around his wife, but not a hugger or a hand holder. when keir wordlessly kisses a friend on the cheek as a casual greeting or crushes them into an embrace when he hasn’t seen them in a while, that’s not malcolm at all.) malcolm bottles all that up, circle trauma being what it can sometimes be, making him in some ways more of a true red hawke than keir, who gets significantly bluer talking to people he loves. malcolm didn’t like getting emotional or vulnerable ever, and he didn’t really approve when keir did, even as a kid; he expected him to learn to brush those things off and keep getting up again, because in malcolm’s head he would be exposing himself to danger if he didn’t

it’s hard to exactly call yourself close with someone like that, who doesn’t express affection in more than approving nods and high expectations. especially when they’re a strict authority figure that you put on a massive pedestal, whose approval you want so badly, and who quickly has this idea of you taking up his role of being strong for the family. malcolm liked when keir was tough and independent and handled things himself without coming crying to anyone, because that’s who he thought keir needed to be. so not the kind of closeness where you can share your worries and be comforted

#that still affects keir later. he cant stand himself crying for instance #theres this scene going into something else i wrote where anders justice tries to tell him its fine #nothing wrong with it etc #and he snaps something like ‘take it up with my father’ i forgot the actual line #which is really REALLY jarring and takes them aback more than the crying because under ordinary circumstances pre legacy dlc #keir NEVER ever breathes a word that might be construed as criticism of his father #it gives anders the quite idealised perception of malcolm that he has in canon i think #so its startling to be like hey wait what the fuck #anders and keir’s malcolm is so funny because in anders’ imagination he really admires him #and i think if they actually met they’d get in a pathetic mage fistfight #sorry for giving my boy so many daddy issues btw. i think it’s funny.

But another rumor is not only did he do that, he also bought her a bunch of fake designer purses and fashion-minded fans could all tell 😱. But I don't think Josh would do that maliciously. i’ll be honest, i don’t see how you can read yuwu and at any point in the story have your takeaway be that mo xi is a bad person

from mo xi’s perspective, the man that he sincerely loved and wanted a life with betrayed their country and joined up with their biggest rival(who are known for being cruel and murderous), and upon joining with them started to kill chonghua’s citizens. and then when mo xi finally saw him next, gu mang stabbed him in the chest, leading mo xi to believe gu mang wanted him dead. we also better not forget that gu mang told him that he never actually loved him, and that gu mang was lying everytime he said so!

what did you want from mo xi?? for him to treat gu mang like nothing bad had ever happened between them and take him as a lover again upon seeing him in chonghua??? in what world would that writing be realistic or good

honestly, given mo xi’s perspective of the events of gu mang’s betrayal i found the way he treated him to be proof that mo xi is a kind and good person. he did everything he could to get gu mang out of luomei pavilion and into his own house, so he could ensure gu mang wasn’t being mistreated anymore. and of course, after he learns the truth mo xi is even softer with him

the only notable moment of mo xi acting out to me is when he yells at and slaps gu mang for touching his father’s clothes which... idk man i can see where mo xi was coming from. was he harsh about it? yes. i’m not saying mo xi was in the right during this scene, but i am saying that losing your temper one time does not make you a villain. he also very clearly felt awful about it afterwards

like, the book makes it a point to show that mo xi really doesn’t mistreat gu mang by having other characters point this fact out explicitly. mo xi gets back to chonghua and pretty much immediately starts doing his best to protect gu mang! is he still angry at him and heartbroken? definitely. and yeah, that influences how he treats gu mang, but ultimately mo xi makes sure that gu mang is living as good a life as he can

You can tell I miss my cat because I daydreamed an entire backstory for Ianto's alien cat in this fic i am writing, and none of it is even relevant for the plot 😭

I guess im a cat now?#i want the doctor to meet this cat eventually and be taken aback #bc it's a being ancient and powerful and malevolent enough to give *him* nightmares #...and it is currently lightly snoring as it naps on the jones-harkness sofa

This was a very important promise, as Elizabeth often spent time at her father's grave, whether it was reading, resting her mind, or recounting her day for him, finding she felt close to him in doing so.

"I feel like I got the most sleep out of all of us," Dorian replied with a little smile-unlike his bride and friends (including Beau, who only got enough sleep to drive the carriage, he felt), he actually slept fairly soundly until it was time to get ready to go. As part of his prep, he left a note on his nightstand for his parents, simply stating that he and Emily had decided to cut out the middleman and elope, and not to worry about them. Maybe he would send them a postcard sometime. Maybe. Probably not.

"You probably did," Randall smiled, as he took Emily's hand, asking, "What about you? Did you get any sleep, my heart?"
