If octomers struggle to find a humans lower half attractive, I wonder if wearing a very long pleated skirt could trick their brain a little. It might be worth trying if we want to save the species...

Ooo that or maybe a train skirt!!! Something that billows behind you and floats in the water in a way that looks similar to how an octo-mer might move. I think Azul could be tricked if he's desperate and in the middle of his breeding season. Biological imperative clouds most of his logic and rational judgment and puts instinct first, and since he's in a contained enclosure he doesn't have to worry about looking out for other predators or rivals when it's just you and him in the water. He thinks you're the prettiest mer in the entire sea. <3 you're so sweet and gentle, letting him approach you, not fighting or struggling, and you're not trying to bite or kill him either! He's really happy. :D so happy that he ignores the fact that your anatomy is strange and not quite like that of an octo-mer's so that he can just focus on breeding you.

He doesn't want to let you go in the aftermath. >_< he panics when you try to leave the tank and he doesn't understand why because this is where you belong. You have to stay here with him so the two of you can look after the clutch. If you leave, how will he know you and the eggs are okay? And what if he never sees you again? How will he provide for you if you aren't here with him?????? He's clicking at you in mermish so wildly, his expression stretched with raw terror, and at the researchers' behest you're forced to stay in the enclosure with him, resting in the shallows while he looks after you. He's very content with himself. Somewhat stressed because it's the first time he's ever had a precious mate like you and there is so much that must be taken into account when caring for a pregnant mate, but most of all he's very pleased with himself. He'll love you forever.
