How did I not know that Dick was in at least a 3rd story in the Dark Multiverse (Dark Nights Metal where Duke is a Monitor) ? I read Batman Hush and the Teen Titans one but I didn't even see anybody talk about that one. I'll be honest I didn't read it yet, just skimmed through it but he seems cool. Like, he's one of the last heroes left on Earth, he had a badass axe/guitar made from power rings that can create constructs and project energy and sound waves and stuff. And he ends the one-shot as a dragon slayer ?? Why didn't anybody talk about this one ?

Tales from the Dark Multiverse: Dark Nights Metal #1

From what I remember, people were more focused on Dick and Wally getting maimed in the Teen Titans issue. Not sure anyone cared as much about Dick from Earth 0. They should've though because there were some good moments between him and Duke.

Dick: Would you look at that? The Hawks did it. We're down to the World's Finest.

Duke: I know you mean Clark and Bruce, but I gotta say...

Dick: Yeah, I know. We made a pretty good band, you and I... but it's time for my solo.

And then Dick just fucking died after taking out Kryptothrax. Now that was metal 🤘.

Y'know I've not read Tales from the Dark Multiverse so I can't comment on the merits of the Tourne issue, but the problem with making your main character the son of Bane and Shiva is regardless what story you choose to tell with him it cannot possibly be as interesting as the story of how Bane and Shiva concieved a child together.

Why does every writer working on a movie/tv show/videogame and their mom want the story to be about a multiverse nowadays? Yes, previous works such as Tales of Xillia 2 and Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse featured a multiverse story. The difference is that the story for those works featured an original and interesting premise (ToX2 has the game's protagonists seeking to eliminate other timelines in order for their own timeline to continue existing while Spiderverse has several different Spidermen/women getting dragged into the same dimension and one new Spiderman learning how to be a hero). All these new multiverse stories are half-baked at best and contrived and confusing at worst. It's even worse when it's a story for a franchise because the majority of the time it ends up screwing over previous plots/characters/lore.

The most recent case in point is Bayonetta 3. What the frick is this disappointing mess? My sister downright stated that as the existence of the Bayonetta multiverse is now canon she is not going to consider Bayonetta in this game as the same one in Bayonetta 1 and 2.
