Questions (sorry if I type alot):

1. how far removed do you like to take the family tree when it comes to cousins and other relations? Like is there a point where it doesn’t matter like third and fourth cousins? (I say this since you mentioned Dove and Tiger would share a same great grandma/great great grandma, making them second/third cousins respectively which on it’s own isn’t really that bad genetic wise but I’m not sure how you categorize it in the rewrite)

2. If Tigerheart isn’t Tawny’s son, why did Rowan name him Tiger-?

3. How far back do the cat track their family lines? Do they call themselves by a specific family name?

Oh hi, don't worry i type alot too, sorry for the long response, but answering your questions:

1 - Well, i prefer to totally remove that they are related by blood if they are a couple, for more genetic diversity, and for new blood in the clan(as inviting loners and kittypets into the clan), one example i can think of is Heathertail and Breezecloud, since i totally rewrote that Onewhisker and Ashfoot are siblings, so now only Ashfoot and Morningflower are siblings from another pairing, while Onewhisker is the solo kit of Wrenflight and Stagleap.

But Breezecloud and Heathertail would be still tecnically related, IF Heathertail was Ruby's kit together with Darktail, but since she is not, they are not related.

However, i'm still thinking about the Tawnyclaw being the mother of Tigerheart thing, since i don't know if i should keep it or not, but i like the idea of Rowanclaw's kits being not related to Tigerclaw, so we have more diversity in Shadowclan, but i think i wouldn't mind making Tawny their mother in all honesty, as you said, it's not that horrible compared to other canon pairings(*cof* *cof* Ivypool and Fernsong *cof* *cof*);

2 - Honestly, i didn't thought of that when i made the Fireheart's family tree, so maybe i will make Rowanclaw rename him, since i was thinking of adding that Tigerclaw could manipulate Shadowclan before trying to murder Star Bluefur, as a fail safe if he couldn't murder her and that Shadowclan was weak at that time, so it was easier, so maybe Rowanpaw was one of the cats that were mostly manipulated by Tigerclaw, and created a admiration for him, but after Shadowclan discovers that they were tricked, so Tigerclaw can have his revenge on Thunderclan, maybe Rowanclaw wanted to name his kit after Tigerclaw as a "Firestar named Brambleclaw that way, so the clan could move on from the past" way, which i really don't like it.

But i'm thinking that i will rename Tigerheart as Talonheart, for Rowanclaw's apprentice that was hated crimed by kittypets(yes, that happened in canon), since i think he would really want to honour his apprentice, i don't know, i want some opinions here.

3- I think i already said in one of my posts, but i track 'till Mapleshade's Vengeance if possible, since if i'm not wrong, this is the most far back the clans was ever written that was still fairly close to the modern clans, and another reason is the impact that this era made on Thunderclan, since i think i didn't mention it yet(which is a crime), but Thunderclan after the Mapleshade's incident revoked all queen's rights, and the queen's rights would only return in Star Bluefur's reign, this brought so many problems in Thunderclan, since she-cats and toms that have kits outside the clan, would HAVE to name the other parent before the kit is born, so i think it made sense in the rewrite sense, as this era was very important to the clans, so why not start by it? Note: Only Thunderclan made this, the other three still had and have queen's right.

I forgot to answer the family name when i answered this, but adding it later better than never: No, while yes that some cat families have a famous, relevant or antagonistic against the clans's cat, and cats in universe can recall it, with some cats having a prejudice against them because of a family member(Brambleflower), or have some expectation on them from being related to some important clan figure(Silverstream or Whitestorm), but the family itself doesn't really have a name, it's more a way that i can organize myself.

I created Talon at 13 years old— a time when my primary source of comfort was reading xenofiction. As I got older I was made to feel ashamed for it (cringe culture, among other things) and largely suppressed my interest in it. Still, it never really went away. In my late 20s I started actively giving myself permission to enjoy the things that made me a weird kid again. Stuff that never hurt anyone in the first place.

So, anyway, here’s my oldest warrior cat oc and her refurbishment, ~12 years apart. I can’t quite remember how I envisioned the original Talon, but it looks like I only ever drew her with a devious little grin. I wouldn’t be surprised if she was a loner or rogue that loved mocking the clan cats. She probably beat a few of them up, too.

When I reimagined Talon I only kept a pinch of that mischief. Now she’s more blunt and gruff, albeit maintaining some humor. She’s also huuuge, not just in fluff, but in stature and muscle as well. Her size alone tends to dissuade would-be attackers. Very helpful for a loner— especially one that doesn’t care for the company of toms. Conversely, she is something of a romantic when it comes to other mollies.

Her redesign is inspired by Norwegian Forest cats and Great Horned Owls. A nice glow-up, I think.

Going forward into more anthro territory, I think she’d make a cool knight. Or maybe a werecat.

A pairing idea for ivypool,,,,

I like the idea of Talonheart x Ivypool for some reason. He starts simping for Dovewing but then the more him and Ivypool banter they become closer and Dovewing 100% ships it wkwkwkskeksdk

....gosh dang it I hate how I like this idea, because Ivypool x Fernsong is one of my all time favorite ships.

While I do think this is a cool idea, I don't think it would last, especially if Talonheart (Tigerheart for those who haven't been following my ridiculous AU notes) still becomes deputy/leader of ShadowClan, which I do think I'm gonna keep. Ivypool also becomes deputy/leader in this AU, and while the rules gradually loosen, I think they'd see that it wasn't going to work out and end up breaking up and Talon realizing he works better with Dove and Ivy realizing she works better with Fern.

I'm sorry, I LOVE the girlboss x malewife type couple that Ivy and Fern are. His willingness to be in the nursery in her place also makes a lot more sense because she would be leader at that point, so their dynamic works even more.

Talonheart, Deputy

Mates to Honeyspots and Bumblestrike. Father to Russetfang

While his kithood may not have been very pretty, Talonheart has fought his way to becoming deputy. Most cats see him as a strong and courageous warrior, which he partially is. He’s extremely clever and manipulative. Talonheart does have a soft spot for his mates, Honeyspots and Bumblestrike. He isn’t lovey-dovey with them at all though; but he does like complimenting them. He’s a very serious yet very quiet cat.

Changes for 2024!

Introdution

Theses changes happened because of many reasons, some because after alot of thinking, i decided to go against it, others would be to erase some weird things, or because i thought of making other things that i think that would be better than what i iniciatilly thought.

This includes family relations, pairings and etc.

The changes

The romance between Dustpelt and Ferncloud is being removed, Dustpelt is now a solo dad, and he still fathers Spiderleg and Shrewpaw with a random loner, Ferncloud gets paired with Daisy, and adopts Berrynose, Mousewhisker and Hazeltail as her own, while having Toadstep and Rosepetal later, both raise their kits with much love and care. The rest of their original kits(Larch, Holly, Birchfall, Foxleap and Icecloud) will go to other cats, the already planned ones are Foxleap and Icecloud being Snowtail's kits(Rewrite's Snowkit, Snowtail is a placeholder name for now, as i can't think a better name for him);

Ferncloud and Ashfur dad being Tornears is being fully removed, as it was just a way so Spiderleg could get very long legs, so for now, Tornears is childfree, and the siblings father is a unknown loner;

If a cat parent adopts a cat, and that adopted cat descendent and a relative from the cat parent(a biological kit or uncle for example) gets together, it's still considerate incest, basically: Adopted cat's relatives count the same thing as biological related cats;

Heathertail and Breezecloud are not a couple in the rewrite, Breezecloud's kits(if AVS happens in the rewrite) will be solo his, making a den dad, while Heathertail will be focusing on herself more;

Tigerheart is being renamed as Talonheart, in honour of Rowanclaw's apprentice that died young.

New things for 2024!

A post about roaming loners in the culture of the clans, it js about loners that are the sire or the dam of some cats from the clan, how the clans view loners, the culture around it, the consenqueses of the Star Oakspeckle actions on loners and Kittypets, loner groups and that's all i think about it for now;

The family tree of Graystripe, and more to come;

Finish the clans allegiance family(that is a massive doc that i have, that have all cats that appear in the books from Mapleshade's vengeance till The last hope, that says who is family with who);

Posting the allegiances from Into the wild or Mapleshade's vengeace(which one i think it's best to start with), with all clans, with art about it;

Make art from scenes, daily life of the clan, relationships, interactions between clanmembers or cats outside the clans, etc;

Maybe write a scene instead of drawing, but it's a strongly maybe, since i'm not focusing on it so much;

A post about the relationships between the clans;

More on the mentalities of the clans, of one "being welcoming to outsiders", "being welcoming to other clans" and "more pure blood" in the clans, and how they affect the cats;

A redesign of the lake territory, maybe the forest too, but the main focus is the lake territory.

Maybe there will be more things, but it's what i already thought about it.

Also, it's a sketch instead of a full art, and i wanted to show the Badgerfang sketch someway :).

Are your cats based in/on a certain clan?

I kept the clans ambiguous in their backstories so that I'd have some wiggle room to place them in different stories/AUs, but I definitely have preferences.

Snailshine and Magnoliabreeze have ThunderClan vibes. It's hard to explain but they do. Dawnfall could truly go anywhere, but TC would be the most fun.

Redhaze and Spottedfawn's stories were made with ThunderClan in mind, hence the wooded backgrounds, but recently I've favored WindClan for them as well. Redhaze's behavior would stand out more in WC, I feel— and Spottedfawn's long leggies would be right at home.

Lostwind and Flaxhound are WindClan warriors too. Lostwind's suffix literally comes from her clan (having fought against being named Losttail). Flaxhound's dad was a barn cat but his mama was a WC warrior. She's a fun character too.

Coldstar was originally created to be the leader of a fanmade clan: MoonClan. Out of the canon clans, however, he'd be most at home in WindClan.

Tigerleap, Thornrush and Newteye were made with RiverClan in mind. Tigerleap would love fishing. Thornrush is much scarier when she isn't hindered by water. Newteye is already a mystery so being a cat that likes water would be on brand for them.

Swampkit has ShadowClan built into her heart. It's hard to imagine her anywhere else. Talon joins ShadowClan in a few AUs as well (warrior name: Talonheart), though I generally prefer her to be a loner.

Tigerheart-star Rename Idea

I've seen other people proposing alternate/arguably better names for Tigerheart-star over the years and so I decided to propose my own-

Talonheart/Talonstar, after Rowanclaw's apprentice who was attacked and killed not long after the clans first reached the lake. His death left an impression on me because it gave Rowanclaw some more character AND the fact that both Tawnypelt and Rowanclaw felt HORRIBLE about his death- Rowanclaw even led a patrol to drive Talonpaw's killers away.

Anyway that's just my 2 cents and what I'm likely going to call him when I redesign him for my headcanon

Robinpaw is a very rambunctious cat, filled with energy and devotion to her Clan. She strives to be the best warrior ever, and wouldn’t say no to maybe becoming RubbleClan’s leader either. She’s already training hard under the mentorship of the Clan’s deputy, and she doesn’t back down to a challenge. Robinpaw cares more for other cats than herself, always ensuring before she goes to sleep that the elders and queens have been fed. Her sense of humor is reason enough to like her past immature ways, and she has aided Mothpaw in a few pranks. Sweetpaw is her closest friend, and she loves training with him.
