How Menopause Affects Your Mental Health with Psychiatrist Dr. Judith Joseph
“I don’t feel like myself” is what I told doctors over and over until they just put me on antidepressants. It didn’t feel right and it didn’t help with my symptoms. Surprise! What i was going through was MENOPAUSE. So many women I’ve spoken to have had the exact same experience, that’s why I called in the professional!
Changes in hormones take place during menopause, affecting not only your physical health, but also your mental health. Women often experience symptoms of anxiety and depression during this time, however, doctors tend to overlook the fact that they are related to their hormones changing and therefore, are not treated correctly.
Dr. Judith Joseph is a board certified psychiatrist in NYC… and a social media star! She uses skits and relevant trends to inform her audience about mental health, family dynamics and so much more. In this episode we talk to Dr. Joseph about what happens to our brains in menopause and why so many women in midlife are overlooked.
