Dad, there has always been an ocean of silence between us. A lifetime of words left unsaid. In ways I feel that I don't know you at all. I barely knew you way back then. What I now want you to know is this. I was just a child. But I knew you were broken. I don't blame you and could never hate you. I felt how the path tore at you with its jagged edges. Your unspoken pain is no stranger to my blood and bones. I carry it, too.

Writing has always been my cognitive therapy for years because when I make songs and/or poems out of emotion, it makes me feel better than hanging on to the stress inside of me. It helps me live, it helps me breathe, it helps me cure my mental illness, it helps me build a portfolio of my life's work, and I love every bit of writing when I come up with a poem, story or song.
When I write, it pours the emotions out of me and considering how I was stressed at the musicianship lesson last week, I've now found it easier to put myself and my creative process forward, both solo and with a group. Without writing, there will be no future in life because writing is a therapeutic excuse for my negative emotions and it is in my blood to pour my emotions through pen, paper and electronic devices.
As Tanya Markul said in her poem about writing, "Write to become emotionally literate, accepting yourself and be free. Write to move a culture, write a philosophical change, write to revolutionize your pain."
Several writers across the world will do the same as I do for the sake of their mental and emotional health. Thank you.

so, i was reading this poetry book the other day and found this poem that i really like. it reminds me of the whole “child of God” thing but in a healthier way that i like better
“She forgets
that even without a single human to turn to
she’s still
a daughter
of Earth
and she can always
always
turn to Her.”

"I'm not the kind of woman who will look away when you talk about rape, abuse, or addiction. I won't flinch when you walk in covered in dirt, muck, and inner shit. I won't judge your story of neglect, betrayal, or trauma. I won't try to rewrite your suicidal thoughts or self-hatred. I won't ignore your cry. I won't back away from your drool, vomit, or blood. I won't deny the relationship you have with your womb, work, or the unseen. I won't belittle your body-image or self-wisdom. I won't pretend I have an answer for you. I won't compare your divorce, break-up, or loss to another. Because I believe you. I believe you when you say what you've been through, what you're in, and all that you carry. I believe it when you say that you've tried, you want to, and that you will. I believe you now, and I will continue believing in you. Because I am the kind of woman who holds space. For you, sister."
