Thirteen years ago today, on July 20th, 2010, I smelled the La Brea Tar Pits, started cough-laughing about how bad it smelled and tripped over my own feet.
The mildly creepy dying animal sculptures are worth the trip alone. The museum was nice too.

The Flash: The Fastest Man Alive Issues 1-3
The Flash movie is coming in less than a month. It was time to sit down and read the movie tie-in comic that DC had released back in late 2022.
It adds a little bit of insight to this version of Barry Allen. It shows how much he is juggling with the crime lab and his personal life. The villains are kind of quick and easy for him to defeat, with some tinkering to his thought process and using his powers. Throughout this series he learns more about the scope of his powers.
It was a fun series, even though it felt slightly like it had no stakes to it. The Flash and his smaller abilities within the speed are always fun to explore. The moment with Batman gifting him, the ring felt like a full circle moment after the events of ZSJL. Barry is struggling throughout this series with his mental health, and that was probably the coolest element of the story. Everyone around him tells him to slow his mind down and take things easier in order to master himself and his abilities.
The villains in this series are D List Rogues from the depths of the gallery. I have stated before, and I truly believe this, but Batman and The Flash have the deepest roster of rogues in all of DC. If you can pull out Girder, Tar Pit, and The Top and make a viable series where Barry Allen learns some life lessons, then you have a deep pool to pick from.
This series is a love letter to what makes The Flash origin so tragic and the lasting effects it leaves on Barry. My only complaint is I would have liked a little more stakes within the individual fights with the villains, but overall, it was an easy read that kept me entertained.

Spoilers for Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong #3!
You can see some preview pages here.
There aren't many more pages of Rogues aside from what we saw in the preview, but Len shows up to protect Lisa and to seemingly recruit some/all of the Rogues for the Legion of Doom. It makes sense that they'd want to bolster their numbers, though it isn't clear if all the Iron Heights escapees have joined or some decided to take their chances elsewhere. And yeah, hurting Lisa is definitely going to get your ass kicked, Barry. It's surprising Len didn't do worse.
Meanwhile, Superman is believed dead from Godzilla's atomic breath, and Atom Smasher isn't looking too good either. Toyman is on the lam somewhere -- even the LoD is furious at him for his stupidity -- and Luthor is up to something on his own. Perhaps we'll see the Rogues fighting alongside the LoD in future issues, and they're going to need all the help they can get against the monsters and potentially whatever Toyman and Luthor are up to. And it's curious that we don't see Grodd with King Kong here, since Grodd perceived him as a god in the first issue, so I wonder what he's up to...maybe he's off doing something to further Kong's interests.
Anyway, this issue has Rogues + monsters - Toyman, so it gets a thumbs up from me.

Out of these three only Taraxin has seen any altertions, taking more inspiration from its old Mega, which is now defunct. In general they were just desperate for a tidy up.
Questox are held in poor regard by much of Bretlan, old legends painting them as conniving and insidious pokemon. Some truth is present in these tales as Questox are dangerous predators, ambushing prey before running them down and inflicting their venom through their vicious bite. Intelligent and self-assured, they can be hard pokemon to train but provide a versatile partner for the dedicated trainer.
Tartrap have incredibly adhesive skin which they spread thinly across their immediate area, acting as some form of living web. Whilst a Tratrap will usually wait in ambush for prey to blunder into their tendrils, they aren’t above lashing out with their eyestalk in an attempt to grab anything close enough. The eye is very vulnerable to damage and so this is a risky manoeuver, with a Tartrap preferring to protect it with the bones it collects. Once prey is caught it is reeled into the central maw, where it is ground up by a series of rotating teeth.
Taraxin are heavy dragon pokemon that are slow if not tenacious predators. By huffing toxic fumes from their mouths they can quickly coat an area in a miasma that hampers vision and slows reaction times, if not outright suffocating prey. Very territorial, once a Taraxin finds a place bountiful with food nothing is going to make it leave and disputes between Taraxin for these territories are particularly brutal.
