14 “The excitement of dreams coming true is beyond the description of words.”
Dropping her bag onto the floor, Robyn ignored the trees she could see from their hotel window and walked right over to Taron and pulled him in to hug him tight and close.
“Breathe.” She said into his neck. “In and out.”
“Robyn…”
“Just do it.” She replied firmly to him, hearing his sigh and then feeling his chest take some slow and easy breathes. “And more please.” Finally satisfied he had calmed his whole body down, she lifted her head from him and used her hand to tip his hat from his head so it fell backwards onto the carpeted floor. Kissing him lightly, she ran her hands through his flattened hair. “You really hate airports, don’t you?”
“So busy.”
“Yeah Taron, it’s an airport.” She saw him roll his eyes and tapped his nose. “We came out unscathed.”
“Until the papers tomorrow.”
“And they will say what? Taron Egerton seen with long-time friend Robyn in JFK?”
“Yeah…”
Robyn brushed his hair from his forehead, her hands going to his cheeks. “We are going to blend blend blend into the crowds here and walk around Central Park and look in the windows on Fifth Avenue and play the Big Piano in FAO Schwarz and look up at all the buildings until our necks hurt…”
“And be fussed about by Stella.” He added with a half-smile. “Sorry cariad. Airports just make me nervous.”
“Stella is going to make you shave.” Robyn said with a pout, her hands moving around to his neck, her thumbs rolling over his growing beard. “And I know they do but I didn’t see anything out of the ordinary and we got straight into the car and came here and…” Robyn turned around to finally look out the windows. “Are you freaking kidding me!” She walked over to the glass and stared out. “I know we agreed if the hotel was for a work thing for you, it was up to you but Taron, are you actually kidding me!” She leaned as far as could into the glass. “The Ritz Central Park?”
“Well you did say that you wanted to walk around Central Park. You can look out the window and plan your route.” He smiled coming to stand beside her. “And I didn’t book the hotel. My management team did. I just asked for two extra nights.” He shrugged. “But wow that is some view.”
“Taron that is the whole of Central Park out there.” She leaned back into him as he wrapped his arms around her from behind. “And it is still sunny.”
He chuckled. “Because we didn’t get enough of that in Florida?”
“I can feel my tan melting away.” Robyn replied dramatically.
“Not a chance.” Taron pressed his lips to her neck. “Tanned skin everywhere. So you want to go for a wander around?”
“Isn’t Stella coming here?”
“It has just gone eleven. Stella won’t be here for another few hours.”
“You sure? Because at your premier she was constantly telling me she didn’t have enough time so I was certain she would have already been in the room when we arrived.”
“Well, this isn’t my premier. It’s just a red carpet thing.”
“Because that will stop her? I don’t think so.”
Taron chuckled at her words. “Stella is coming around four to us and then we leave at six. That’s two hours to get ready.”
“For Stella?” Robyn turned around in his arms.
“Cariad, that was her suggestion. She will be here at four. So that means we can go explore for a while.”
“Then I say let’s go explore.” She agreed.
After a quick change and freshen up, they made their way out of the hotel, right onto the road opposite Central Park.
“Let’s leave the park for the way back.” Taron gripped her hand and gave it a little tug.
“You know I have to walk down Fifth Avenue and am going to have many many shopping bags for you to carry and you want to walk the park after?” Robyn grinned.
“Your shopping bag will more than likely be from FAO Schwarz and it will be a stuffed bear which will weigh nothing. We can do the park at the end. You still have to look out the window of our room and plan the way you want to go.” He gave her hand a harder pull “Now, let’s go this way. There is something I want to show you.”
“But Fifth Avenue is that way…” Robyn looked behind her as Taron started to walk to other way.
“I promise you tomorrow we will do every New York tourist thing that you want to do.” He said giving her hand a tug. “But for today, please let me take the lead.”
“Okie dokie but can we please go by FAO Schwarz cos I really want that bear you mentioned.”
Taron chuckled at her. “I will get you whatever you want tomorrow but for today, trust me.” He kept walking straight towards the Columbus Cir le and then took a left down eight avenue. The streets were busy but he knew he blended in with the others walking around, Robyn more so as she took picture after picture, insisting he got in for many selfies together. They continued their walk and as they entered Broadway and the theatre district, he could feel the increase in excitement in Robyn.
“I know we are going to see RENT this evening, but do you think we can try one of those red ticket booths to get some last-minute discounted ones for another show.”
“I am sure we could definitely have a look cariad.”
“Because I mean it’s Broadway and…”
“How could I even think about bringing you to New York and not bring you to more than one show? I mean you are miss musical theatre.” He felt the dig she gave him and took it with a smile. “We will get to another show Robyn. I promise. Now follow me.” He took a right but felt Robyn stop.
“Isn’t this where the musical is tonight?” She asked looking up at the famous exterior of the Gershwin Theatre, the black frame with the iconic white lights in the ceiling known to every musical theatre lover, RENT in large letters and lights on the outside.
“It is.” Taron confirmed.
“Ok so we come back here later. Not now. Now is time to explore.”
“Robyn…” Taron let go of her hand and stood behind her to give her a little push. “Will you just trust me and take my hand and come with me.”
“Ugh fine.”
He laughed at her reply and took her hand, walking under the lights and towards the entrance of the theatre. The security guard inside gave Taron a nod and unlocked the door, opening it for him.
“Mr Egerton. Come on in.” Once they inside, the guard locked the door again. “Head on through.”
“Thank you.”
With his hand locked in Robyn’s, Taron started to make his way across the green and gold diamond carpet towards an escalator.
“How does that security guard know your name?” Robyn asked.
“Just does.”
“Taron…”
“Shh trust me.” He chuckled again when Robyn made a similar sound to the one she had made previously. “I promise it will be worth it.”
Once off the escalator they walked into the wide-open lobby, Taron guiding the way towards a set of double doors in the middle of the lobby. He opened them and let Robyn through first, following her.
“Welcome to the Gershwin Theatre.” He said.
Robyn had never been in the Gershwin but walked past it many times and she was taken back by its beauty inside. Spacious and with a fantastic view from every seat, Robyn walked away from Taron and down the aisle to get a better look at the theatre as whole, turning around to see the seating in the upper circle.
“And what time do you call this?” Her head turned when she heard a voice call from the stage. “You told me twelve and its now near one. We have a schedule to keep to and an opening night to attend to!”
Robyn’s head whipped around to look to Taron and then back to the stage.
“Well, someone kept stopping to take photos along the way.” Taron called back coming to stand beside Robyn. “It delayed us a little.”
“Oh, she did, did she? Don’t you think it’s about time I get to meet the famous Robyn?”
“Sure. We will be right down.”
Taron grinned as he watched Robyn’s head flick back and forth between him and the stage and back to him again. “Want to go and meet him?”
“Taron!” Robyn threw her hands up in the air. “Are you joking me?”
“What?” She pointed to the stage.
“Oh that.”
“Oh that.” She repeated. “That is Hugh Jackman!” Her hand was still pointing to the stage. “Haven’t you learnt to stop surprising me with people?”
His whole face lit up with a grin. “But then cariad, I don’t get to see this wonderful look on your face which is a mix of awe, anger and excitement. It’s the most beautiful look.”
“Taron!”
He wrapped his arm around her shoulders. “It is cariad but I also like to surprise you in the way you surprise me.”
“My surprises are usually cookies. Not Hugh Jackman. I don’t have a Hugh Jackman to surprise you with.”
“Robyn didn’t you know he was part of the team that brought RENT back to Broadway?”
“No Taron I didn’t.”
“Really?”
“Really.”
“You didn’t do any research about it?”
“Well no. I was told RENT was coming back, you were invited and we could go together and did you think I was going to refuse an invite to a Broadway musical! I was never told Hugh Jackman of THE Hugh Jackman was part of the production team.”
Taron gave her a half grin. “So wanna go and meet him?”
Robyn looked to the stage. “Well of course I do.”
“Keep the squeals in, ok?” He expected the dig and stepped out of her way.
“I don’t squeal.” She saw his look. “Ok sometimes but I will do my very very best.”
Hand in hand, they walked down the aisle to the stage, Taron letting her walk up the steps on the right-hand side first, Robyn waiting for him to join her before they walked together over to Hugh who was waiting in the middle of the stage for them.
“Robyn…” He held out his hand towards her. “It is very nice to finally meet you.”
 Robyn shook his hand, trying her very best not to squeal and keep her voice steady. “It is, well amazing to meet you. Big fan.” She stopped mid shake, squeezed her eyes shut and whispered under her breathe. Opening her eyes, she looked to Hugh. “So, we are going to pretend I didn’t say that ok?”
Hugh laughed at her words. “Sure, but I already know you are a big fan. Taron may have let it slip.”
“Of course he did.” She looked over her shoulder to him. “Anything else I need to be aware of?”
“Hmmm nope.” She looked back to Hugh with a raised eyebrow. “Well only that you were in your own local production of RENT and won an award for it.”
“And this is where I take my exit. Hugh it was lovely to meet you but there is a big piano nearby that needs to be played.” She dropped his hand and started to walk off the stage but Taron grabbed her hand to pull her back. “You give away all my secrets.”
“To be fair to Taron…” Hugh interrupted. “I saw his Instagram post and asked him about it. He didn’t tell me exactly and a love for musical theatre should be celebrated and I am sure you know how much I love it.”
“Well kinda.” Robyn admitted.
“And you…” He stepped past Robyn to greet Taron with a hug. “Might be a good idea to give your girlfriend a heads up every now and again.” He gave him a strong pat on the back. “It’s good to see you again too.”
As Hugh greeted Taron, Robyn couldn’t help but take a few steps further onto the stage and stare out into the seats. The theatre was huge, and from the stage, every seat and box could be seen clearly.
“Now imagine it with a full audience.” Hugh suggested as he stood beside her.
“I can’t even. So many people.”
“You are a performer. You have performed in front of people.”
“Yeah a couple of hundred. Not this many.” She jumped a little when the orchestra sounded from the pit below them. “And not had a full orchestra either.”
Hugh looked to Taron and then back to Robyn who was still captivated by the theatre. “Never this big, eh?”
“Nope”
“Well, why don’t you give us a song?” Hugh stood beside her. “There might be no one here but you can say you performed at the Gershwin.”
Robyn chuckled and shook her head. “Yeah, because you have time for that. Doesn’t your cast need to warm up before the show?”
“The cast are not due for another while and the orchestra are warming up and could easily play a full song for you.”
Robyn looked at Taron who shrugged his shoulders. “Up to you cariad but ya know, it’s a Broadway stage and you are being given the opportunity to sing on one and I don’t know if I will have Hugh Jackman on a Broadway stage to surprise you with again.” He grinned, his eyes twinkling in the stage lights.
“You planned this.” Robyn turned to him. “This was your idea the whole time.”
“Well not quite. I wanted to introduce you to Hugh because I know you are a huge fan and also get you onto a Broadway stage but this is all Hugh’s idea to sing. Not mine but Robyn, do it.” He encouraged. “You know the show inside out and it is Broadway in New York and you were Mimi and may have won a teeny tiny award for that performance. I think you can handle this big stage too.”
“Hey Dan!” Hugh called out, a man popping up from the orchestra pit. “These are some friends of mine and Robyn here would tick a serious bucket list item if she got to sing on Broadway stage.” Robyn saw the look of doubt on the conductor’s face. “Trust me when I say she can sing.”
“Yeah?”
“Hmm. She has won an award for playing Mimi in her local musical society.” He echoed Taron’s words, Robyn biting her lip as he said them, her eyes on the conductor.
“Really?” Dan looked to Robyn. “Mimi?”
“Yup.” She confirmed.
“What award?” He asked, his tone a little snooty as he stood with his arms crossed.
“Best female lead, I believe Robyn, right?” Hugh said standing beside her.
“Female lead?” Dan questioned.
“Hmmm.”
“And wasn’t that from the best five performances in Ireland cariad?” Taron called out. “Won over everyone.” He said proudly.
“Amateur musical society?” Dan asked, leaning forward a little.
“Everyone starts somewhere.” Hugh replied, his own arms folded. “And the orchestra always warms up with a full song before the cast comes on.”
Dan sighed with a grunt. “We could play Out Tonight as a warm up I guess but we have no mics.”
“She won’t need a mic.” Taron pipped up walking over to take Robyn’s hand. “You got this cariad.” He lifted her hand to kiss it. “Not a bother to you.”
“Taron…” Robyn looked to him, still biting her lower lip. “This really is not a great idea. That conductor is not…”
“When will you ever get the chance to sing on a Broadway stage and you know you killed it as Mimi.” He interrupted brushing her hair behind her ear. “Show that snotty conductor what you got. I have every belief in you.”
“You just want to see me sing.”
“And those dance moves!” He winked
“Hugh!” Dan called out, seeing the producer walking away towards the wing. “If she can’t sing, I swear. We won’t have time to do it twice Hugh or start and stop.” The musical conductor raised an eyebrow. “And we do have an opening night to be concerned about. Hugh?”
Robyn and Taron looked to their left, Hugh having walked away but he was on his way back. “One microphone.” He grinned handing it Robyn. “Wanna test it for me?” He winked.
“Sure.” Robyn took the microphone and spoke into it, testing the sound system, hearing her voice echoing back. “All good.”
“Hugh, we need to get going. The cast will be out soon.”
“Robyn you happy to go ahead?” Hugh stood beside her, giving her shoulder a squeeze. “I don’t think you need a warm up.”
She looked to the conductor whose face was clearly not happy at having to go along with Hugh, his smirk hitting a nerve with her and with the microphone in her right hand, nodded to Hugh. “I don’t think I will ever get the chance to sing on a Broadway stage again, so I say let’s just go for it.” She ignored Taron’s little dance beside her and kept her eyes on the conductor.
“Great. It will be good warm up for you Dan. Give the team a chance to have some fun before the show tonight.”
As soon as Hugh finished speaking, Dan moved into position and with a tap of his baton, the orchestra turned up and within seconds, the music for Out Tonight started to play. Taron slipped Robyn’s bag from over her shoulder and gave her a wink. “Kill it, dance moves and all cariad.” His voice could only be heard by Robyn and as he stepped to the side, Robyn gave herself a quick one second pep talk before she had to start singing. There was no time for nerves and even though it was Hugh Jackman standing on a Broadway stage with her, she would never ever back down when someone tried to pass her off with a smirk. She channelled all the emotion she felt into the song and knowing it was going to be her only chance to ever sing on such a stage, she closed her eyes imagining she was back in Kilcreen on stage and was determined to hit every note to make Taron proud of her and prove she could sing the shit out of Mimi’s song.
Taron could only grin as he watched Robyn literally get into her groove and giving a nod towards the seats, himself and Hugh made their way off the stage and took a seat in the third row to watch the performance. Last time he watched Robyn sing this song, he had been a bundle of emotion but now he could sit back and relax and feel nothing but pride for her.
It was a much bigger stage then she was used too and she didn’t have a fireman’s pole to slide down and her voice wasn’t warmed up, but Robyn used the opportunity to sing her heart out and pretend she was Mimi, giving her all to the song. It was strange to hear the full orchestra behind her and before she knew it the song was over and she looked to where she heard the clapping and wolf whistling, her smile growing as she saw Taron clapping his hands above his head.
“Yes cariad!” She heard him shout, another whistle coming from his lips, Robyn taking a pretend curtesy, her eyes drifting to the conductor whose smirk has completely changed, giving her nod of approval.
“Well call me impressed.” Dan said to her. “Didn’t think you had that in it.”
“Best female lead.” Robyn grinned. “And thank you for doing that for me. A moment I will remember for a very long time.” She looked to Taron. “Jane is gonna be jealous!”
“I will sign something else for her.” Taron shouted up to her.
“It is gonna have to be a piece of clothing.”
Taron chuckled. “We will work up to that.”
“We will.” Robyn agreed and her head turned to the left, when she heard more clapping, some of the cast standing in the wing of the stage.
“Hugh, you are not trying to replace us, are you?” One of them asked as they walked on stage. “Because as the understudy for Mimi, I am feeling a little threatened right now.”
“Not at all.” Hugh shouted up towards the stage. “Just a friend ticking an item off a bucket list.”
“You sure?” She asked again, coming to stand beside Robyn. “Because as much as I loved singing at the diner, I am not going back there.” She turned to Robyn. “No offence.”
Robyn grinned and held out her hand. “None taken and Hugh is right. Just a bucket list thing. I’m Robyn.”
“Emilia.” They shook hands with a chuckle. “And I mean, join our chorus by all means but…”
“Don’t worry.” Robyn assured her. “As much as I would love to be in a chorus on Broadway, I already have another role lined up.”
Emilia smiled. “Ok good, again no offence.”
Robyn laughed. “None taken.”
Hugh joined the two and other cast members who had walked onto the stage, Taron strolling behind with his hands in his pockets, his eyes stuck on Robyn. “Well, well, well.” The Australian stood with his arms folded. “I guess no warm up was needed.”
Robyn shrugged. “First and only time getting to sing on a Broadway stage.”
“Killed it cariad.” Taron stood beside her. “And excuse me, but another role lined up?” He questioned. “Want to fill me in?”
“Well, I haven’t got one yet but ya know, optimism and auditions open at the end of September for the next musical.”
“Musical?” Emilia asked. “You have my interest peaked.”
“Our local musical society, back home.” Robyn explained. “They are holding auditions for Legally Blonde at the end of month.”
Emilia’s eyes lit up. “That is a fun musical.”
“One of my favourites.”
“Ok gang. Let’s get this warm up going. Then I want to just run La Vie Boheme one more time.” The musical director appeared on stage. “Hugh, your friends are more than welcome to stay but we just gotta get going.”
Emilia looked to Robyn. “Want to join in our warm up?” She asked. “Get some tip and tricks for your audition.”
Robyn turned to Taron with a hopeful look. “Go and have fun. I am gonna catch up with Hugh.” He chuckled at her reaction. “You promised me you wouldn’t squeal.” He stepped out of her swipe towards him and with Hugh headed back down the stairs to the seats.
“So that is Robyn.” Hugh said to Taron as they sat down together, letting the cast warm up, Robyn quickly catching on to the stretches too.
“Hmm yup.”
“She can sing.”
“Yup.” Taron said again.
“You are whipped mate.”
“What?” His head turned to his friend.
“You heard me.” Hugh threw his arm around his shoulder. “Your eyes haven’t left her.”
Taron tried to shrug off Hugh’s arm, but he gave in with a sigh. “I love her.”
“She look after you?”
“In every way possible.”
“You look after her?” Hugh asked.
“In every way I can.”
“Good. She is a fire cracker.” Hugh chuckled; hearing Taron laugh too. “I like her.”
“Me too.”
“So, what are you plans then for the rest of the day.”
“Well, if I can ever drag Robyn off the stage, she would like to get a bear from FAQ Schwarz and walk around Central Park.”
Hugh laughed hard at his words. “You can bring her back tomorrow if you want. I would love to hear her sing again plus to get the smirk off Dan’s face is worth another visit.”
“Still being an ass?”
“Yeah, a bit of one but it’s just until the end of the week and Julian is back, thank goodness. Dan is great conductor but Julian cracks a joke and smiles and is a much more supportive conductor.”
“Thanks for the invite back but me and Robyn are gonna do some New York stuff tomorrow.”
“Of course. I know you want to spend your time with her.”
“When Robyn is happy, I am happy but we only have a week left together and the time is starting to go to fast now. I want to spend it all with her.”
“I get it Taron, I do.” Hugh patted his shoulder.
Both turned back to the stage listening to the warm up, Taron grinning as Robyn was right in the middle looking as if she was part of the cast. “I am never going to get her off the stage.” He chuckled.
It was easier to get Robyn off the Broadway stage then he thought it would be and as they wandered their way back towards their hotel, they walked up Fifth Avenue, taking a quick look in the FAQ Schwartz, Taron treating her to a brown furry teddy bear, both taking a turn on the large piano before heading back to their hotel.
As they turned the corner to head down the corridor for their room, Robyn took a quick glance left and right and with no one around, she gently pushed Taron against the wall beside their door, and kissed him hard, hearing his surprise at the sudden kiss.
“Thank you so much for doing that for me.” She said against his lips. “That was an unbelievable experience Taron and you know I never expect you to do anything like that for me and you know you don’t have to.”
Taron kissed her back, his hands wrapping around her waist. “I know I don’t have to and I know, that sometimes I can do those kinds of things for you because of my job but Robyn, I also do them because I know you don’t expect it or ask for it but you always appreciate it more than anything. You have never once ever even thought about using my name or fame for any kind of reward so if I can give you the opportunity to do something like sing on a Broadway stage because it will make you smile and kiss me like that, then I am going to do it plus Hugh really wanted to meet you. I know for you these are huge things and I am sure you feel that cookies are so underrated compared to that but Robyn the cookies, the corner of your couch and a head massage is the same for me as singing in the Gershwin is for you.” His hands slid into the pockets of her shorts. The weather in New York was warm and clammy, their holiday attire still getting use and he pulled her closer into him. “Me watching you sing and smile and feel what it is like to sing in New York was just as much for me as it is for you.”
Robyn cupped his cheeks and kissed him slowly. “No more mad surprises though?”
“No more.” He promised. “But I know you loved every minute of it.”
Robyn nodded. “It was amazing.”
“And it gives you all the inspiration you need now for your audition for the next musical.” He kissed her cheek, making his way around towards the right side of her neck.
“It really does.” She agreed titling her head back.
“Maybe you can audition for me?” He asked with a smirk. “Isn’t there a part in Legally Blonde where the lead character wears a bunny costume?”
Robyn giggled and was ready to answer but a loud ‘ahem’ made them both turn their heads.
“Good God is this what I am going to have to put up now that you two are together because this is really going to interrupt my red carpet preparation’s.”

The first time I met Taron was on the red carpet for Kingsman: The Golden Circle, and it did not go as well as I had wished it would’ve.
I had seen the first movie in theaters when it came out and immediately developed a crush on Eggsy, and, in turn, on his actor Taron. When dad was offered a cameo in the sequel, I think I was more excited than he was. I begged dad basically every day to let me go to set with him, but I was in college at the time and neither of my dads would let me miss that much time to travel just to meet my celebrity crush. It felt unfair at the time, but they had a point in the long run.
When the day of the premiere came around, dad took me as his plus one to the red carpet. I was buzzing with excitement the entire day as dad’s stylists came in to help us get ready for the night, but the minute our ride pulled up to the red carpet my excitement turned to nervousness. There was no reason for me to be so nervous. I had been to huge events like this before, and of course I had met famous people plenty of times. But there was something about meeting my actual celebrity crush that made me feel like a high schooler who was about to go on her first date.
Dad introduced me to Taron, because of course he did. Fatherhood never changed who dad was, and he was shithead, cocky, lived to tease everyone in his life Elton John. I always knew it was a bad idea to tell dad about my crush on Taron, but I never regretted it more than when I heard him shout across the red carpet, “Taron, darling, come here!”
He looked like the most handsome man in the entire world dressed in his suit, his smile lighting up his face as he approached us. That moment was when I realized he was real. He wasn’t just a character on my screen; he was an actual real person. And now he was stood in front of me. So close that I could smell his cologne, and boy, did it ever smell good.
“Taron, I want you to meet my daughter (Y/N),” dad said, gesturing to me. I was still in such awe by his beauty that I almost forgot who I even was.
“It’s nice to finally meet you, (Y/N),” Taron said as he shook my hand. “Elton has spoke very highly of you.”
My brain was definitely short circuiting. Hearing him say my name was one thing, but then for him to also say that he’s heard a lot about me from dad also contributed to it. When I realized I was just stood there staring at him like an idiot, I felt embarrassment wash over me. I tried to force myself to say something, but it was like I completely forgot how to speak English.
“She’s a little shy because she has a crush on you.”
I turned to look at dad in disbelief. If there was a higher power, They would do me a favor and open up the floor to swallow me whole and take me away from this entire situation.
I made my escape before Taron could say anything. I turned away from the two of them and walked away as quickly as possible.
The memory haunted my nightmares for a while afterwards. Even after I managed to forget about it for the most part, the intrusive thought would pop into my mind from time to time just to make me cringe. I could barley ever watch Taron’s movies anymore without thinking about that moment, which was hard since I still had such a big crush on him.
A year later, I was on set with dad and papa for the movie papa was producing about dad. Papa was so excited, as he was making the movie as a gift to dad. Papa had complete creative freedom and dad was able to give as much input as he wanted. When filming started, the two of them wanted to bring me, Zachary, and Elijah on set to watch some of the filming. They hadn’t told me much about the movie just yet, but papa’s excitement was contagious enough that I was feeling it, too.
“We’re filming the Troubadour scene today,” papa was telling us. “Full 70s aesthetic. You guys are gonna feel like you were really there to see your dad’s first ever solo performance.”
“Do I get any 70s outfits once you guys are done filming?” I asked.
“Darling, you know we have a closet full of all my favorite outfits from those days,” dad said. “You’re free to go through it as you please. It’ll be the real deal, not some cheaply made replicas.”
“Hey! You’re the one who approved of Taron’s wardrobe!” papa said with a chuckle.
The mention of his name made me stop in my tracks. “Wait...whose wardrobe?”
Both of them looked at me, confused by my reaction. “Taron, honey,” papa said. “That’s who’s playing dad in the movie. You didn’t know that?”
Memories from the year before came rushing back. I could not see him again or else I may just turn into an embarrassment puddle at his feet. I especially couldn’t be here with dad and have a potential repeat of the situation.
As if reading my thoughts, dad walked up to me and gently took my hand in his. “Honey, it’s been a year. He’s not going to remember.”
“But what if he does?” I asked. “God, he probably thinks I’m crazy after our first encounter. I can’t watch the filming.”
“Hey, hey, calm down sweetheart,” papa said. “You’re working yourself up. It’s okay. If you feel uncomfortable you don’t have to watch, but I don’t think it’ll be as bad as you’re expecting.”
I took a couple deep breaths to calm myself down. I wanted to be there and support both of my dads on this project they were both so excited over. I knew they were right and Taron likely didn’t even remember our first encounter, but I still couldn’t shake this pre-embarrassment feeling about seeing him again.
I sucked it up and followed them to the Troubadour set. There were many extras dressed in 70s clothes standing around the stage. The general murmur of the crowd turned into an excited one as people began to notice dad walking onto the set. I couldn’t see Taron anywhere, but I did recognize Richard Madden talking to the movie’s director, Dex Fletcher. Zachary was tightly holding my hand, trying to hide behind me. I knew the crowd was likely making him nervous, so I squeezed his hand and picked him up.
“Lead actor walking the set!”
I felt my body tense as everyone turned to see Taron taking the stage. He was wearing a pair of white overalls and a navy blue shirt with silver stars. He had on a wig that looked like dad’s hair from this time period and a pair of thick framed glasses that matched his overalls. He looked really good, even if he was dressed as my dad.
It took my brain a moment to register that he was walking towards us. I felt the panic return, but I tried my best to play it cool.
“It’s like looking in a mirror,” dad said as he embraced Taron. “I still have this outfit I’m pretty sure. I was just telling (Y/N) that I still have all my favorite outfits back home going all the way back to this very first performance.”
At the mention of my name, Taron’s eyes landed on me. I tried not to crumple under his gaze, and kept the smile on my face.
“Hey,” Taron said. “Good to see you again.”
“Good to see you, too,” I said, surprisingly myself with how confident i sounded.
“Who is this little guy?” Taron asked, referring to Zachary. The young boy buried his face in my neck, peaking one eye up at Taron.
“This is Zachary,” I said. “Z, this is Taron. Doesn’t he look like daddy?”
Taron struck a pose for Zachary, who seemed to warm up slightly but not a lot.
“What do you think, Elijah?” papa asked the youngest boy. “Do you think Taron looks like daddy?”
Elijah shook his head. “Daddy is old!”
We burst out into laughter as dad gave Elijah a mocked offended look. Elijah squealed as dad picked him up and began tickling his sides. Zachary was still a bit hesitant, but I could feel his body shaking as he chuckled in my arms.
“Come on, Rocket Man, we gotta start filming,” Dex called to Taron.
Taron made his way onto the set stage. Quiet was called and a hush fell over the room. The minute Dex called action, music filled the silence. One of dad’s songs, his least favorite yet one of his most popular ones, began to play. Except it wasn’t dad singing it, it was Taron’s voice. I was a little shocked to hear him singing instead of there being a backing track of dad’s music, but I had to admit he was an amazing singer. It was a fantastic choice they made. His singing voice was amazing and it made the movie have more of a fantastical musical vibe, instead of just a movie with dad’s voice dubbed over for the music.
I tried to get Zachary out of his shell more by dancing with him while the music was playing. We were not strangers to dad’s music. The three of us had seen dad perform on numerous occasions. I figured the familiarity of the music, plus the goofy dancing would definitely help with his nervousness. And I was right for the most part; Zachary came out of his nervous cocoon eventually and started dancing with me. By the time Dex called cut on the scene, Zachary felt comfortable enough to be put back down on to the floor and followed dad and papa to meet Jamie Bell, who was playing Uncle Bernie.
“Seems he enjoyed the show.”
I jumped at the sound of Taron’s voice so suddenly. He was laughing at my reaction as I turned back to him, my heart beating a million beats per second just having him so close to me.
“I think he just needed some time to warm up to being around so many people,” I said. “Usually when we go to dad’s shows we’re in a special VIP area where it’s just the three of us and papa, so he’s not used to so many people and so much attention being on him.”
“I get that. He’s only young. Doesn’t fully understand how well loved his dad is.”
“I don’t think I even fully understand it, and I’m in my mid 20s,” I said.
Taron chuckled and I couldn’t help but smile too. The realization of his realness was starting to wash over me again. He was actually here, stood in front of me, talking to me. He was a real person!
“Listen,” Taron said, “I wanted to talk about the first time we met.”
I felt my heart drop to my stomach. I tried not to let my embarrassment show too much. Maybe if I pretended I didn’t even remember, we could just move on from the entire situation and pretend like it never happened.
“I’m sorry it went the way that it did,” he continued. “I know you were embarrassed about what your dad said. I know Elton meant no harm, and he was just trying to tease you because...well, he’s Elton John, but it really wasn’t fair of him to say that to me when we were first meeting. I could tell by your face that that wasn’t exactly the way you wanted our first meeting to go.”
I was a little surprised by what he was saying. I don’t know why I was expecting for him to say something that would make the situation worse, like maybe calling me out on my crush and saying something about it. He seemed like a really nice guy, not the type to make someone feel bad. But I guess, after having an entire year to let that embarrassing moment stew, I just expected the worst if I ever met him again.
“I appreciate you saying that,” I said. “It definitely was not the way I wanted to meet the guy I had such a big crush on. I think dad expects stuff like that to wash over me like water off a duck’s back because of who he is and how many famous people I’ve met and am close to, but his status never makes those types of interactions easier. Again, especially when meeting someone that I was crushing so hard on.”
Taron was giving me a look that I wasn’t sure how to read at first. “Was?”
My brows furrowed together. “Hmm?”
“You said ‘someone I was crushing on’. As in you’re not anymore?”
I wasn’t sure why that was the part he was focusing on. I opened my mouth to respond, but Dex called to Taron again. Taron looked at me and winked behind the thick framed glasses before making his way back to set to start filming again. And it was with that wink that I could not handle anymore and finally had to sit myself down.
~~~~~~
I kept coming to set the next few weeks. At first it was only one day out of the week for a couple of hours, but soon enough I was tagging along with dad and papa every day. I tried to tell them it was because I was enjoying watching the movie being filmed, and getting to relive these big moments with dad, but they both knew that wasn’t the truth. They knew I was going because I wanted to see Taron.
We had gotten to talking a lot in between takes when I was on set. About everything and anything really. It started with just getting to know each other, but eventually it blossomed into talking about whatever was on our minds. Sometimes it was about the movie, sometimes it wasn’t. Either way, we just got to know one another. And eventually, my “celebrity crush” became a real one.
I knew my dads could see what was going on, but they didn’t bring it up. I figured that was mostly because of how my first interaction with Taron went and dad didn’t want to risk embarrassing me like that again. Which, I did appreciate. I felt like a friendship was being built with Taron and I didn’t want that to be risked with fatherly embarrassment to the extreme, even though I knew that wasn’t dad’s intentions.
One day, we walked on set and I was surprised to see Taron was nowhere in sight. Instead, we walked into a setup that looked like great grandma Ivy’s apartment that I had seen in plenty of dad’s baby pictures. There were three different actors than normal on set, one I recognized as Bryce Dallas Howard and one young boy I recognized to be dressed up the way dad had been when he was that age. I realized pretty quickly that today was probably mostly shooting scenes of flashbacks from dad’s childhood, which caused me to feel disappointed realizing that I likely wouldn’t be seeing Taron today.
I was sat in my usual seat (because yes, I had visited so often that I was given a seat with my name on it) watching the set up for the scene when dad came over and sat next to me, dramatically sighing as his body settled into the chair.
“These old bones can hardly sit down anymore,” he said.
I smiled at him. “Oh, please. You’re hardly that old, dad. Besides, we both know that after everything you’ve gone through, you’re going to outlive us all.”
“A man can only hope.” We laughed together. Dad put an arm around my shoulder and leaned into me. “Taron’s in his trailer, you know.”
“Oh?” I said, hoping I didn’t seem as excited by this information as I was. “He’s filming later on then?”
“Yeah, way later on this evening. David said that Taron showed up way earlier than he needed to claiming that he thought his call time was this morning, not this evening.” I raised an eyebrow at him, silently telling him to say whatever it was he was trying to say. “I don’t think that was the case, though.”
“Clearly.”
“I think he came here early hoping to see you.”
I scoffed and rolled my eyes. “I think you’re being a little ambitious there dad.”
“About as ambitious as I would be to say that you show up every day so you can see him, too?” When I didn’t respond to that, dad just laughed. “I see things, (Y/N). My eyes may be old, but they can still see things that no one else sees.”
“And what is it that you see with me and Taron?”
“I see a young man who is enamored by a young woman, and a young woman who feels the same way. I also see two cowards who are too afraid to confess their feelings to one another.”
I playfully nudged him with my elbow, to which he dramatically clutched his stomach and acted like I had shot him or something.
“I’m not saying that Taron feels anything for me,” I said, “because I don’t think he does. I think he’s just being friendly with someone that he considers to be a friend. But, if what you’re saying is right and he does have romantic interest in me, maybe the reason why he won’t admit it is because he’s too afraid to? I mean, my dad is Elton John after all. That’s a pretty big name to have as a potential father-in-law.”
“Hey now, I didn’t say anything about marrying you off to the man.” I smiled and shook my head. This really was just an every day thing with dad. He loved being a father, but I think he loved being a nuisance more than that. Papa always warned him he would regret that when Zachary, Elijah, and I started to pick up on his habits. “But both of you know that Taron has my approval if he does want to pursue you romantically. If he didn’t, he wouldn’t have even been cast in this movie!”
“You cast him because he’s a good actor!”
“Oh, that was only part of it. The other part was so that you two could have a do-over with your meeting, since I ruined the last one.”
I put my head on dad’s shoulder. “You didn’t ruin it. You just embarrassed me beyond belief, but that’s what a father does.”
Dad gave me a small squeeze before pulling me away from him. “Go to his trailer. Have a few moments alone.”
“Give you a few grandkids?”
He pushed me away, which caused me to laugh hysterically.
“Darling, I may be old but I am certainly not that old,” he said. “And, again, I said I approve of him. Not that you two need to get married and pop out babies right away. Go on a few dates first, for the love of God.”
I stood from my chair, still laughing. Dad tried to glare at me, but he couldn’t. This was just our relationship.
I made my way out of the set before they started filming so that I wouldn’t be disrupting anything. All the trailers were grouped together in the lot, luckily with signs on them to label what or whose trailer they were. Taron’s was the furthest on the lot, with a theatrical gold star stuck to the door with his name on it. Part of me figured this was dad’s doing, but the other part of me would believe that it was Dex’s doing, too. Papa truly couldn’t have chosen a better director to capture dad’s personality and aesthetic than Dex.
My heart was pounding so loud that I thought Taron would hear it before I even knocked. I took a deep breath and pushed myself to knock before I got too nervous and ran away instead. There was a brief rustling in the trailer before the door opened, revealing Taron in a pair of black and gold hot pants, a gold jacket that was left unzipped so I could see his entire torso and chest, and heeled shoes with gold tips and gold wings on the side. I wasn’t sure where to look first. My eyes naturally lingered on his chest, his coarse chest hair a welcoming sight, but I couldn’t help but glance lower at his thighs in those hot pants, too. Not to mention the bulge -
“Shit,” Taron breathed, a panicked look in his eyes. “Sorry, uh, I didn’t expect...I thought it might’ve been someone from the set. I’m just...uh...”
“In costume, I would assume,” I said, trying to pretend like I was looking at his shoes and not another area lower on his body.
“Yeah,” he said. His face was starting to turn bright read. “It’s for a scene later on...way later on. I’m - I was early today, so they already put me through costume and makeup.” He cleared his throat and ran his hands through his hair. “Do you, um, do you want to come in?”
I nodded, unsure if I could even form any words. He stepped aside to let me into his trailer. He still looked flustered by my sudden appearance, which I thought was cute.
“Don’t be sorry, by the way,” I told him. “I don’t mind this eye full that I’m getting. Quite the opposite, really.”
That only made him more flustered, and I couldn’t help but smirk at that reaction.
“You’re a lot like your dad,” he commented. “He said something similar while we were filming Kingsman a few years ago.”
“We Furnish-Johns have good taste in men.”
I sat down on the couch of his trailer and he sat across from me. I tried not to be too obvious with my gawking, but it was hard not to look at him. God, was he ever attractive. And here he was, sat next to me, practically naked, and all flustered because I had caught him this way. I felt like I should be feeling a similar way, but knowing that I was the one who had made him feel that way just made me feel so cocky instead.
“I didn’t think you were on set today,” I told him. “I showed up and didn’t see you or Jamie or Richard.”
“We’re filming a couple smaller scenes later on to end the day. Dex wanted to film all of the flashback shots of your dad before he was Elton John today, just to get that out of the way.”
“You got here really early for that. It’s not even noon, and your scenes are this evening papa said.”
Taron shrugged. “I got the wrong call time.”
I raised an eyebrow at him. “By over 12 hours?”
He shrugged again, but didn’t offer any further explanation.
I took a deep breath, once again willing that cockiness to stay long enough so that I could say what I wanted to say without losing my nerve. “Remember the first day on set where we talked about the first time we met, and you made a point of asking me about my crush on you.”
Taron nodded. “Yeah. You made it seem like you didn’t feel that way anymore.”
“Yeah, I did. Because I thought I would scare you away if I admitted that I did still like you that way.” I was moving towards him now, closing the already smaller space between us. “That I do still like you that way, if you get what I’m saying.”
We were so close that I could feel the heat radiating from his body. He was looking down at me in a way that I could only ever dream of having Taron Egerton look at me like. It was like the movies I had seen him in, except this was real life and the person he was looking at was actually me.
“I think I understand,” he said. “But just in case, is it okay if I do an experiment just to be sure?”
I giggled. “Yeah, that’s okay.”
He placed a finger under my chin and tilted my head back until I was looking up at him. He leaned forward at an agonizing pace before his lips finally pressed against mine. It felt like the entire world around us paused in that moment. I had to restrain myself from getting onto his lap and deepening the kiss, even though I wanted to so badly. I wanted to spend the next few hours in this trailer with him, not even letting him leave to go film. I wanted to be tangled up with him and never let him go ever again.
The kiss ended far too soon. When Taron pulled away, I tried to chase his lips to pull him back to me. He chuckled at my eagerness, allowing his lips to press against mine for a quick peck.
“Let me take you out before we get too hot and heavy,” he told me. “I want to take you on a proper date.”
“I guess we should do that before I jump your bones,” I teased. “But you do still have quite some time till your call time. If you’d like company while you wait, I wouldn’t mind staying here with you for a while. Especially if you’re going to be dressed like that the whole time.”
Taron’s face turned red again as he looked down at himself, almost like he forgot what he had been wearing. “Might be too tempting for you.”
“It definitely will be. But I will respect your virtue and not try to deflower you in your trailer.”
He buried his face in his hands. “Oh my God! What have I gotten myself into here?”
“Something pretty great, if you ask me.”
Taron Egerton’s masterlist
————————
It’s been two years since you started your relationship with Eggsy and with that, it’s been two years telling the most weird story of how you met. For you it starts like a normal day at your residency, that day you were supposed to be helping Dr. Park on a surgery but one of your coworker got late making you end up on the ER, You don’t hate to be on that area but this was a surgery that you like to see. You gave a quick look at the tests of the patient you were going to check on, you make your way to the cubicle, when you get inside and look at him you were a little surprise, It was your old neighbor, your father were friend with his father, but you lost contact when his mother married again.
-Eggsy?- he smiled when he recognized you.
-Yn? What are you doing here?
-I should be doing that question- you said -I’m a resident here, actually I’ll be your doctor today, do you want me to introduce me as I usually do?- you said -Hello, I’m doctor YN YLN, I’m going to be the doctor who is going to attend you today, tell me how your feeling Mr. Unwin?- Eggsy and you start to laugh.
-You sound like that boy from up- he said, making you laugh.
-I know we always said that- you said you left the papers on a little table and approach to him -I’m going to exam you- you put the stethoscope on his chest -please take a deep breath- you couldn’t help but blush when you met his eyes -Do you want to share with me how this happen- you notice that he start to think on something.
-Oh uh… I got into a fight with some pricks in the pub- he said you look at him for a moment.
-You know it will be better if you tell the truth to me- you said.
-I…- but before he could say anything else a man came in. He had a couple of glasses and a nice suit, none of his hair was out of line.
-Oh, Eggsy, I’m glad you’re doing better- he said.
-Yn, this is Harry, he’s my…
-Uncle- you looked at him suspiciously but you shrugged.
-I think that because of the traumas you had, you need to stay here for a few days.
-We’ll do whatever you say, doctor- Harry said as he gave you a soft smile.
-Ok, I’ll tell everything to Doctor Martin so he can be updated with your case when he sees you…
-Wait, so that means that I don’t have to see you again?- Eggsy asked.
-You won’t get rid of me that easily- you said before you winked at him.
You visited him every day while he was in the hospital, you liked to be around him, you could talk about anything and he always made you laugh, before he left the hospital he asked you for a date, you had to admit that you were nervous but everything went great. That date became a second date and then you started dating. After your sixth month dating he told you about his real job, he warned you that it could be dangerous for you and if you want to leave him he’ll understand but instead you took a step closer and kissed him. You were worried every time he was on a mission, but this time everything was different, some woman want all the control for the drugs, eggs was on united state with another agency, Harry was back, the hospital was a chaos with all the people infected with poppy’s drugs, and the cherry of the cake was when he called you and tell you that they were going to fight the golden circle on Poppy’s island. You tried to focus on your patients but you were tense until Eggsy’s name appeared on the screen.
-Oh god, I’m glad you’re ok- you said making him chuckle.
-You didn’t think that I would make it alive, uh love?
-I never doubt of you babe… when are you coming home, I miss you
-I miss you too, darling- he said -Have you been eating today?- you thought for a second.
-Yeah- you said as you bit your lip.
-Love, you know I know when you’re lying right?- he said, making you sighed.
-Ok I haven’t eaten today, we were kind of busy giving all the infected people the antidote that some spy won.
-You mean that handsome spy that 's waiting for you in the medics room?
-what?- you said as you ran to that room, Eggsy looked at you with a smirk on his face.
-I’m going to hang up now love- you haven’t realized that you have your phone on your ear.
-how…
-I’ll tell you later but first follow me- you did as he said, you followed him to the rooftop of the hospital, you were a little confused but you forgot when you saw the view.
-God has been ages since I've been here- you said before you look at him.
-How did you know about this place?
-I… kind of followed you when I was here- he said ashamed.
-So you were a stalker, agent Galahad?- you said with a smirk.
-Just for you, babe- he said with a smirk, you get close to him and kiss him.
-I really miss you- you said.
-Me too- you noticed that something was bothering him.
-Are you ok?-he didn’t answer right away, until he shook his head -Do you want to talk about it?
-I… I almost didn’t make it- you could feel the air stuck in your lungs -I’m here thanks to Merlin and it was my fault- you hugged him as he told him everything that happened and you kept hugging as he calmed down and stayed like that for a moment.
-How you been, what’s new?- he asked you after a while.
-Let’s see, I found something I want to show you- you said as you looked at your phone and showed him a photo on your phone.
-Look how young we were- he said.
-Are you telling me old?-you jokes.
-Well you’re not 11 years olds anymore- he said -you want to know a secret?- you nodded.
-I had a crush for you- you could see the blush appearing in his face -I know we were kids but when I was with you, I was always happy and if I’m honest I always wonder what happened to you, so imagine my surprise when you were my doctor, I was excited and then this happened… and now with everything I’m sure of one thing.
-And what’s that?- you asked.
-I realized that I want to spend my life with you- he said looking at your eyes.
-Are you…
-I’ll propose one day and I hope that you’ll say yes, but I’m pretty confident that you’ll accept- he said with a smirk making you roll your eyes- come on love, let's get you something to eat.
-Eggsy- you stopped him -I love you- you pull him into a soft kiss -shit I don’t want to compete with everything you said but I just want you to know that I’m really happy when I’m with you- you gave him a quick kiss before you start to walk again -oh and I’m pretty confident too that I’ll say yes- he gave you a big smile -so you have to promise me something.
-Yes, I’ll introduce you to Elthon John- he said.
-I was going to say that you have to always come back to me but now I want to hear that.
-I promise- he said -come on, let’s eat and I’ll tell you everything- he said as he took your hand.
Mission - Gary "Eggsy" Unwin Imagine (Kingsman)
Tumblr media
Title: Mission
Pairing: Gary "Eggsy" Unwin X Reader
Word Count: 1,058 words
Warning(s): argument
Summary: Eggsy is met with a familiar face when he begins the process of joining the Kingsman. That familiar face is ready for the pieces they so careful put in place to completely fall apart.
Author's Note: I found the first two films for free, so I spent my Sunday watching those. This was caused by those.
-----------------------
It looked bad.
It looked really, really bad.
No matter how I looked at the situation. It all just looked bad.
Eggsy's clearly confused face when he saw me was going to tip off Merlin. I had been trained to handle questioning. But if it was Merlin asking about this specifically, I don't know how well I would be able to hide the truth.
But when Eggsy's face shifted, I felt my heart drop. He looked angry. Angry and confused and sad. I kept facing forward. Reacting to him in any way would tip Merlin off even more. I couldn't afford that.
I had taken a lot of pride in becoming a Kingsman.
Most people would, but mine was just a bit different. It was rare that I felt like I was good at something, but this... this I was good at. I was a damn natural at it.
And then, Eggsy had quite literally stumbled into my life.
A roadblock. An interruption.
I planned on completely forgetting him after we first met.
But we just kept meeting.
I kept a low profile in a place that was apparently close to where Eggsy and his mom were staying. We bumped into each other everywhere. The shop and the pub and just walking around. Like someone was constantly twisting our paths and making it inevitable that we had to meet.
The first time Eggsy asked me out, I refused.
I tried to play it off. Be light-hearted about the whole event. I did like him, but I had a few variables to account for. I truly believed that it was for the best.
And then, he kept asking.
He tried to do the same thing that I was. Play it cool and light-hearted. But he was persistent. Annoyingly persistent.
It was about a month before I finally agreed to join him for a drink.
The rest was history.
A very carefully hidden history, might I add.
I spent so long working my ass off to hide my work with the Kingsman from Eggsy and hide Eggsy from the Kingsman. I wasn't an idiot. I knew very well that what I was doing was dangerous and against the rules of the Kingsman. I just thought that I could handle it. I could juggle all of it without getting caught.
But Eggsy had to end up in the tunning for Lancelot's place. Of course.
And now, I was here, attempting to stare him and the other future recruits down without showing an ounce of emotion.
Needless to say, I almost sprinted away once the task was over.
"Hey!"
Well, I tried.
"Hey!" Eggsy repeated as he grabbed my arm. I yanked myself away, more out of instinct than anything else. "We need to talk."
I froze for a moment before sighing and nodding toward a room that was off to the side. Eggsy followed me.
"I can explain everything," I said.
"I'd quite like that," he replied. "Please, explain to me why you never bothered to tell me that you were a secret agent."
"I couldn't."
"After months? I didn't deserve to know after how long we've been together? How long we've known each other?"
I didn't have an explanation. I never thought that I was gonna need one. I should've been better prepared.
"What was I then?" he snapped. "I was a mission, right? Were you just getting information for Harry-"
"Will you keep your damn voice down-"
"Why," he asked. "Are you embarrassed? Or was I some secret mission? Tell me, did you get grossed out every time we kissed-"
I stepped forward and slapped my hand over his mouth, my other hand grabbing the back of his head.
"Shut up," I muttered.
He glared at me.
"Will you stop shouting if I move my hand away?"
He glared at me again for a couple of moments before finally nodding.
I pulled my hands away and held them up for a few moments as I stepped back.
"You weren't a mission," I explained. "Quite the opposite, actually. Eggsy, you were a risk."
"Well, that makes it better-"
"I could lose my position here," I stopped him. "You aren't supposed to have relationships when you're a part of this group. It's... It's high risk and secret. It's just not meant to happen. Being with you..."
"You did it despite the job, not because of it?"
I nodded. "The only thing I lied to you about was my job. Everything else... everything I felt... that was all real. Every last part of it."
He didn't speak for a moment.
I looked down, opting to play with my fingers instead of looking at him.
His shoes came into my line of sight. I looked back at him.
"Was it worth it," he asked. "Being with me, I mean. Was the risk worth it?"
I let a smile cross my lips. It felt like every memory and emotion that I had experienced with him flew to the forefront of my mind. All of them hitting me at once. Not in a bad way. Not even close.
"Every second of it," I said.
There was a pause as a smirk grew on his face.
"Every second," Eggsy repeated. "Is that right?"
"Don't get cocky about it," I muttered.
"Cocky? Me? Never."
I rolled my eyes but was still smiling.
"So... can we-"
"Not here," I stopped him as he went to lean in. He furrowed his eyebrows. "I... I really can't lose this job. It's the one thing I've been properly good at."
"Alright..."
"Survive the tasks and we'll plan from there," I promised.
"How long will that take exactly?"
"I can't tell you that... first because I'm not supposed to and second because you will hate the answer."
Eggsy seemed to deflate in front of me.
"I'm sorry... I never thought this would happen. I really have no idea what to do about any of this."
"It's alright," he shook his head, reaching out to touch my hand. "I can wait."
"You sure," I asked.
He nodded. "It'll be worth every second."
I scoffed as he spun around on his heels and started walking away.
I tilted my head back a bit and mumbled toward the ceiling, "Dear... whatever entity is out there... please don't get him killed...
"I quite like this one."
Elton’s music video production company sent a car to our flat. He had requested that Taron and I record a music video together. I wore a gray Henley tank top with denim capris and black converse. Taron wore a white t-shirt, faded jeans and white shoes. We stood in front of the full length mirror, Taron placed a hand on my right hip as I wrapped my left arm around his waist. I placed my hand on his chest as he held his phone in his left hand. We both smile as he takes a picture.
The car pulls up outside our flat. I grab my phone and purse. Taron places his phone in his pocket and grabs the set of keys. We grabbed our luggage and backpacks then placed them in the trunk of the car. We climbed in the backseat. The driver pulls away from the curb and makes his way to the location. Taron pulls out his phone and turns on camera mode. He begins “Exciting day today!” He moves the camera onto me, asks “What is going on today?” I say with a giant smile, “We are filming a video for the song Amoreena.” Taron then moves into view, says “Knowing the lyrics, you will get why I’m very excited.” then sticks his tongue out. I add while placing a hand on the right side of his jaw, “Elton requested specifically that the two of us do it.” He adds “Thank you Elton!” I give a kiss to the camera.
The driver eventually pulls up to a cabin that is going to be used as a set and housing for the crew. We grab our luggage and backpacks, thank the driver and make our way up the gravel walkway. When we stepped in the door, we were informed that once everyone is settled the director will go over the plan for the video shoot. Everyone gets rooms figured out and luggage placed in them.
Everyone spent a lot of the time relaxing and chatting. After hours passed, everyone gathered on the back porch with drinks cause it was a pleasant evening. Taron and I sat on one end of the couch and one of the crew members joined us. Taron draped his left arm on the back of it and I leaned into him. Another crew member passed out binders filled with pages of the schedule and shot lists. Taron and I shared one since all of our scenes are together. Before getting started the director informed us that Elton will be arriving for the shoot.
The director asked everyone to flip open to the first page. I took a sip of my drink when he began going through the pages. Once he went through all the pages, one by one and two by two people started making their way to bed.
Eventually, Taron and I were left by ourselves outside on the sofa. He places his lips on my neck just below my left ear. I tilt my head to the right to give him more access. He pulls away as I turn to face him and place my lips against his. As the kiss gets deeper and deeper, we move to against the arm rest where he is on top of me. After some time, he pushes himself up a little above me as my hands stay on his back. He looks at me and smiles then reconnects the kiss. Taron moves to my chest, I say breathlessly “We should…probably get…going to bed.” He stops, pushes himself up a little and says breathlessly, “I guess…you’re right…we got…an early…day tomorrow.” We sit up and readjust our clothing. Taron stands up, puts his hands behind him and I grab them. We make our way to our room and get ready for bed. Once under the covers, we didn’t go to bed right away.
The next morning, everyone got up really early. We loaded up all the equipment and anything that was needed for the shoot. Once everyone and everything was packed into cars, we took off. Everyone drove to an open field, the light was still in the golden hour. Everyone started unpacking cars and placing equipment where needed from their notes.
A female team from the wardrobe department showed me the sundress they picked out for me to wear. It was mid-thigh, yellow with a white floral print and spaghetti straps. They also gave me strappy sandals to match. The team stood around one of the cars as protection holding up towels over the windows so I can change. Taron was in another car changing as well. We both stepped out of the cars at about the same time. He says “Babe, you look beautiful.” I saw that Taron was wearing dark grey textured suit pants, a white button up shirt and suspenders. He was also wearing white tennis shoes. My jaw dropped when I saw him. He asks “What?” I tell him “You look very handsome.” He gives a shy smile.
We were then escorted to a tent being used for hair and makeup. The team gives me a natural makeup look and gives my hair beach waves. All they do to Taron is apply little makeup. We step out of the tent and everyone was ready for us. I intertwine my fingers with Taron’s and place my left hand on his forearm. We were escorted to where the camera stood along with the director and production crew.
They were standing in the middle of the field. The director explains the shot for us and we get in our positions. The director shouts “ACTION!” Taron begins walking toward the camera singing Lately I’ve been thinking/How much I miss my lady/Amoreena’ in a cornfield/Brightenin’ the day break/Livin’ like a lusty flower… The director motioned to me and I run behind Taron with a smile on my face and grab his left arm and pull him with me. He chases me and eventually catches me. He continues Runnin’ through the grass for hours… Taron places his hands on my waist and lifts me up. I place my hands on his shoulders as he lowers me. His arms then go around my waist as he lifts and spins. The director shouts “HOLD!” We move to the next shot real quick which was Taron and I laying on the ground. I lay on the ground as he lays on top of me. I get a good grip around the back of his shoulders then the director goes back, shouts “ACTION!” Taron and I roll a few times as the words Rollin’ through the hay, oh/Like a puppy, child We ended with him back on top of me, he then kisses me. Director shouts “CUT!” We stop. Taron stands up and then helps me up. We brush off our clothes.
The director tells us “Nicely done. It looks really good, come take a look.” Taron and I go over to the monitors. He stands close behind with little space in between. We watched the footage and were happy with it. Someone from the crew shouted “Elton is here!” Everyone cheered.
Elton’s car pulled up and everyone gathered to greet him. Taron and I stood back a little to wait. Elton steps out saying “Hello.” Everyone at the same time, said “Hi.” He asks “Where are my two stars?” My fingers are intertwined with Taron’s as we made our way through the crowd. Once up front, I wave and say “Hi Elton.” He says “There they are.” I let go of Taron’s hand as Elton gives us both a hug and kiss on each cheek. The director says “Elton, we just finished the first set of shots. If you want to take a look?” Elton hooks his arms around Taron and mine’s as we are lead to a tent with another set of monitors.
Tumblr media
We watch the footage and when it finished Elton said “Perfect! This is why I chose you two.” Taron wrapped an arm around my shoulders and pulls me to him. He then kisses my right temple. Elton then had a thought, “Actually one thought…” Everyone listened. He continues “Can we get a shot of a sunrise over a cornfield?” The production manager says “We will make a note of that and get on that.” Elton then says “I don’t think I have any other notes.” I wrap my arms around Taron’s waist and move myself to face him. I pull him close to me and whisper in his left ear, “Can you wear this outfit more? Cause it’s kind of turning me on.” He then whispers in my right ear, “If only you keep this sundress? Cause I enjoyed rolling in the grass with you.”
Everyone works on packing things up back into the cars. When I go change out of the dress, I ask “Is it possible to get a dress very similar to this one?” One of the women asked, “Taron like it?” I feel my face get hot as I nod and tell her “Yes.” She tells me “We for sure can.” I say “Thank you.”
When I met back up with Taron, I wrapped my right arm around his waist and told him “They told me that they will get me a dress similar to that one.” Taron says “Yeah.” We had a few hours until our next shot. We joined Elton and the crew for some lunch. Everyone caught up with Elton and checking out the location. I even saw some people lay in the grass for a nap.
I talked with Elton for a little bit and we made plans to spend time together when the shoot is over. Some of the crew and I went for a walk. We found some pretty flowers and animals. At one point, Taron held his hand out to me as I intertwine my fingers with his, he led us to an area away from everyone else.
I face him and hold a hand in front of my face to block the sun. I ask “Why did you bring me here?” He says as he takes a step closer, “I wanted a little bit of time where it’s just us…alone.” I step closer, wrap my arms around the back of his neck and squint. I ask “What did you have in mind?” He wraps his arms around my waist and says an inch from my mouth, “This.”
Taron places his lips against mine. My tongue is against the back of my bottom teeth as his touches mine. It’s like foreplay and then they fight for dominance. He lightly loosens his arms and slides his hands under the hem of my tank so he is touching my bare skin. I pull away a little and say “Whoa there, cowboy.” He asks “What?” I ask “Are you saying you want to do it out here?” Taron looks at me and says “Not exactly. Just a little something.” I look around and make sure no one is around.
He gets a smile on his face and then sits on the ground. He rests one arm on his bent up left knee and right leg stretched out. I kneel on the ground in between his legs. I kiss him and tangle my fingers in the hair on the back of his neck. He places his right hand on the back of my left upper thigh and wraps his left arm around my shoulders. I feel both of his hands grip tight on my skin and over my capris. Taron leans back taking me with him. Laying on the ground, I smile against his lips and brush my hair behind my left ear. As our mouths move in unison and our tongues fight for dominance, his right hand slides further up my thigh to my butt. He gives a slight squeeze. I kiss down his chin until I get to his neck and leave trails along it. When I reach the mole on his neck, I suck a little. I then move back to his lips.
I tighten my knees against his sides as he sat up slightly. Taron tightens his arms around my waist and turns a little to gently lay me on my back. He pulls away and we look at each other. I smile up at him then he leans his head down and begins leaving trails of kisses on my collarbone and moves further down. I tilt my head back a little. Taron moves back up to my neck and leaves marks on both sides. We lay there and make out for a little while longer when we decided it was time to get back.
No one asked where we were. I had a feeling they all knew. Everyone climbed into the cars as we make our way back to the cabin for the next set of shots.
We all unpacked everything from the cars and set up the equipment. One of the crew members set up a director’s chair next to the director by the monitors for Elton. The director and production manager goes over the plans for the shoot with Elton.
The wardrobe team had me change into a strapless bra, matching underwear with a pair of athletic shorts over. They also gave me a terry cloth robe to wear over. Taron wore the same outfit he wore in the field minus the suspenders but with a few buttons undone. Someone on the crew started a fire in the fireplace.
I stand by it to warm up. Taron joins me, he asks “You okay?” I tell him “I’m a little nervous about these set of shots.” He asks “Why?” I untie the robe and open it slightly for him to see. I tell him “Cause you are the only one who has ever seen me dressed like this.” He reassures me “It will be fine. Just pretend it is only you and me in the room with Elton playing in the background.” I let out a deep breath. He wraps his arms around my shoulders and pull me towards him. I wrap my arms around his waist as he rests his chin on the top of my head. The director says “Let’s get in position.” Taron kisses my forehead.
The first shot in the cabin is of me in the bedroom. There was a white eiderdown comforter laying across the bed. I crawl under it and then remove the robe. The production manager said “Go.” Into a walkie as a few people on the crew started spraying the windows with a hose. Elton all of a sudden says “Wait.” Everyone stalls. The production manager gives word to the people outside. Elton goes to the wardrobe team says something and one of them steps into another room and few seconds later back with a white button up shirt.
The person tells me “Elton thinks that you should wear this over.” I put it on and liked the look. I also noticed a scent coming off of the shirt and then it hits me, It’s Taron’s cologne. I do a small smile while I climb under the comforter. The production manager tells the people outside to spray the hoses again.
I bend knees, wrap my arms around them and look at the window. The music starts And when it rains, the rain falls down/Washin’ out the cattle town/And she’s far away somewhere/In her eiderdown I then stretch my legs out and lay back onto the pillows behind me. I put my left arm above my head and rest my right hand on my stomach. The music continues And she dreams of crystal streams/Of days gone by when we would lean/Laughing, fit to burst upon each other The director shouts “CUT!”
I sit up and stretch as they review the footage. The director comes over by the bed and tells me “It’s good but when you lay back on the pillows…look up toward the ceiling and be lost in thought with a hint of a smile.” I tell him “Got it.” We reset back to where I am sitting up with my arms wrapped around my knees. Music starts and when it gets to the And she dreams… I lay back as before and look up at the ceiling which is where a camera was positioned. I get lost in a thought and give a hint of a smile. Someone on the crew cuts the music and the director yells “CUT!” I sit up as they review the footage. The director then says “Perfect. Set up for the next set of shots.”
I crawl out of the bed and readjust the white button up shirt. I walk out to the living room and see the crew already beginning to get things set up. The next scene is where Taron and I will be together.
I head to makeup so they can get me ready for the next scene. They didn’t do too much except touch up some spots. The crew set up the shot. The eiderdown comforter will be draped over the couch and I will be sitting on it wearing the same thing as the bed shot. Taron will be sitting in a chair facing me and it’s supposed to be like him ‘imaging.’ A crew member stirred the fire and added kindling.
“Okay, let’s get into positions.” The director told us. I walk to the couch and sit down on the comforter. They had me sit against the arm rest facing the fireplace. Taron sits in the arm chair facing me. I was handed a green apple. Taron places his left hand on his chin, looks at me as if imagining.
The music begins I can see you sittin’/Eatin’ apples in the evenin’… I take a bite of the apple and try to make it look sexy. The music continues Fruit juice, flowin’ slowly, slowly, slowly, slowly/Down the bronze of you body The director shouts “CUT!” As the juice is flowing down my chin. He says “Let’s try it again. This time we might need more apple juice spilling down.”
Taron gets up from the chair and walks over to me. He sits down on the cushion next to me. I lean closer to him. He tells me “You looked pretty sexy to me.” Taron then leans close to me and licks my chin. I giggle. We reset and do it again. This time the director was happy with it cause he let the music continue.
The director yells “CUT!” I then get cleaned up from the apple juice. The next scene Taron and I are in it together again but this one is closer.
The crew fixed the comforter on the couch. I came back out and Taron had taken my spot on the couch. I stand in front of him, he asks “You ready for this next one?” I tell him “Ohh yeaahh.” He removes his shirt and I feel my jaw drop. He draped it on the back of the couch. He leans back against the arm rest and I straddle him. One of the crew members opened one of the windows in the living room and a blast of cold air came in. I said “It just got cold in here.” Taron says with a cheeky grin, “I’ll warm you up.”
I remove the button up I’d been wearing and toss it onto the floor. I lay down on him and he drapes the comforter over us. I fold my left arm on his chest and my right hand on the side of his torso. I lay there listening to his heartbeat. He wraps his arms around my shoulders. The music plays as I feel Taron mouth the words Oh, if only I could nestle/In the cradle of your cabin/My arms around your shoulders/The window wide and open/While the swallow and the sycamore, whoa/Are playin’ in the valley I rest my chin on my hand and look up at Taron. He looks at me, smiles then continues Oh, I miss you, Amoreena/Like the king bee misses honey We look at each other lovingly as the music fades.
The director shouts “THAT’S A WRAP!” as everyone cheers. Taron and I sat up, stretched and put on comfortable clothes. The rest of the night, food was ordered in and everyone relaxed after a successful video shoot.
Looking Dapper
Tumblr media
Thank you for answering my ask. I really love how you write smut scenes so I was wondering if you could do something that included smut? Maybe where Taron and y/n haven't seen each other in years and something sparks between them when they first see each other. Maybe it's at a welcome home party for Taron who has been traveling for work for the last however long and someone invites y/n to the gathering. A/N: Hey anon! Thank you so much for sending one! I do love a good bit of smut but don’t write it too often because it sometimes makes me feel really out of touch with life. When the photos of Taron at his friend’s wedding first popped up, inspiration struck and led to this piece. A very smutty day indeed. Word Count: 5.8k Warnings: Alcohol consumption, explicit language, oral sex (f receiving), smut, sex in public,
Also: Sian is pronounced ‘sharn’. Trust me, it’s part of my first name and I’ve been using it for almost 24 years lmao
The Welsh countryside had been blessed with the warm rays from the sun which sat high in the sky, only a couple of clouds dotted around breaking up the crisp blue sky above. The line of the horizon was beautiful, the delicate blue of the sky met the bright, deep green of the fields and trees that surrounded the venue.
You had hung your light shawl over the back of your chair to try and remove as much from your body as you could, the heat already getting to you. It didn’t help much though. It was almost unbearably warm. Not that you were complaining. Sian and Elwyn deserved the best of the best for their wedding day and there were plenty of places to cool down under the teepees that were set up for the reception later that afternoon.
All you had to do was get through the ceremony and then you could escape to somewhere cooler and get started on the drinking. There were still fifteen minutes before the ceremony was due to start so you grabbed your phone from your clutch to check your social media accounts, liking a couple of photos and posting one of yourself from before you left the hotel. You’d balanced the phone on the large windowsill and had set a timer, getting yourself into place and smiling sweetly as the camera clicked.
You put your phone back in your clutch, not wanting to ruin any photos that were being taken by the photographer. There was something about phones in wedding pictures that you just didn’t like, and you weren’t going to be the person to ruin the photos that your friends would look back on for years to come and remember the day they swore their lives to one another.
‘Well I’ll be damned,’ a voice came from next to you.
Your breath hitched in your throat. You didn’t even need to turn to see who was speaking to you because you recognised him by voice alone. The only difference to his voice was the slightly stronger Welsh twang that he had, surely from being back home for a little while longer. He always got more Welsh when he was home, falling into old habits.
‘If it isn’t Y/N,’ he added, sitting down next to you as you turned to look at him.
A large smile broke on your face and you threw your arms around his neck to hug him, inhaling deeply and allowing your eyes to fall closed. He was wearing the cologne that you loved him wearing. The one you had first bought him years prior for Christmas. It was a deep woody scent with a hint of vanilla and a slight undertone of tobacco. A Tom Ford scent that had set you back a pretty penny.
‘Taron,’ you whispered, slowly pulling away from the hug and taking in his appearance.
He had gelled his hair back, not a single hair out of place as he moved around. Unlike the other men at the wedding, he had opted for a monochromatic suit with a simple white shirt. The first couple of buttons were unfastened, his chest on show. The suit jacket was pinstriped and it fit him absolutely perfectly.
‘How’ve you been, stranger?’ You asked, tilting your body around to sit with. His thigh pressed against yours and ignited something inside you that you hadn’t felt for a long while.
‘I’ve been good, thanks,’ he said, smiling at you. ‘Lots of projects last year, a couple in the works this year too.’
‘You’re still a busy body then?’
‘Oh absolutely.’ He chuckled, waving at someone who was getting situated in their seat not too far away from you both. ‘How about you? The last I heard you were opening your own coffee shop in Brighton?’
You expelled air slowly between your lips, shaking your head. ‘Yeah, that didn’t work out,’ you confessed. ‘I now work for a marketing company in London. I guess I still ended up in the place I swore I’d never be.’
Taron took a deep breath and gave you a sympathetic smile. You’d told him numerous times that you didn’t want to live in London. You were dead set against it, to be honest. It was the reason things with Taron stopped when they did. If it weren’t for your desire to stay away from London, you’d probably be at the wedding with Taron as your plus one.
‘I didn’t mean-’
‘I know,’ he whispers, giving you a small wink to tell you that it was okay.
The sun continued to shine down on you as the bridal party made their way down the aisle, standing in their respectful places. Taron absentmindedly rested his hand on his thigh, his pinky finger drawing gentle circles on your clothed thigh, sending shivers down your spine. You grabbed your shawl before Sian walked down the aisle, draping it over your shoulders as a way of guarding your skin from the sun and hiding the very visible goosebumps that were rising on your skin.
You stood up before Taron when Sian’s walking down the aisle song came on, and you could feel his hand settle on the lower part of your back when he was up. Your emotions were all over the place. You hadn’t seen him for over two years and all of a sudden you were seeing one another for the first time at a mutual friend’s wedding and he had his hand on you and his finger on your thigh as you sat together.
When the ceremony was over, you stood and clapped for your friends, throwing the confetti that you had over them with everyone else, smiling like the Cheshire cat. Taron suggested you both grab a drink while the happy couple had photos taken with their families and you agreed, following him to the small bar and ordering yourself a glass of champagne.
‘That was such a lovely ceremony,’ you commented, taking a sip of the cool liquid and already feeling a little more free. ‘They’re so in love.’
‘It was lovely, I agree. It’s taken them long enough to get married though.’
You both chuckled as you headed to the area where games had been set up for guests to enjoy, opting to play four in a row. There were two bags of coins, a red bag and a black bag. You handed the red one to Taron and took the black for yourself, taking the first turn yourself when Taron motioned for you to.
The game went quickly, with you winning when Taron put his coin in the wrong spot, hands flying to his head in shame. You did a little happy dance, getting all excited when Sian walked over to you when a Queen song started to play.
The two of you started to dance together, one of your other friends taking their phone out and filming the two of you, panning the camera around to Taron who was holding two glasses of champagne, one for himself and one for you.
Sian turned to the photographer and beckoned her over, insisting that she take a photo of her with you and Taron. Not wanting to be a party pooper, you stood to her left, Taron stepping to her right and both of you wrapping your arm around her back. You smiled widely, staring into the lens of the camera waiting for the click. Taron’s thumb brushed against the back of your hand and you took an uneasy breath, trying to keep your composure.
Your skin ignited where he touched it, a thousand tiny fires burning from the inside out. When the photographer walked away, you hugged Sian tightly, congratulating her with a genuine smile and asking how she was feeling.
‘Weirdly like my entire life has just slotted into place,’ she gleamed. ‘It’s like I was supposed to be a wife, you know?’
You nodded. ‘I don’t know if that’s on the cards for me anymore,’ you muttered, mainly to yourself.
‘What do you mean?’ Sian asked, curiosity taking over. ‘You’re still so young. There’s plenty of time for you to find someone.’
‘But what if I’ve already found that person? And messed it all up. What then?’
Sian followed your gaze to Taron who stood posing for a photo, two glasses of champagne in his hands. He had unfastened an extra button since the ceremony but had yet to take off his suit jacket. You watched him intently, too many thoughts spinning freely in your mind.
‘I don’t think you messed it all up,’ Sian replied after a little while, taking your arm in hers and pulling you into her side. The jewels on her dress scratched your arm but it didn’t hurt. If anything it grounded you. Something that you desperately needed. ‘What makes you think you messed it all up?’
‘I don’t think your wedding is the place to be talking about this.’
‘No, come on. I’m the bride and I say I want to talk about this. So you have to indulge me.’
‘I told him I felt suffocated in London,’ you breathed. You remembered the day as if it was only yesterday.
Taron had just gotten back from a training session at the gym. He needed to bulk up before his next shoot so had spent nearly every evening in the gym working one part of his body or the other. You weren’t mad, he always looked so fuckable when he got back. Which is why you had packed your bag when he wasn’t there.
You didn’t want to be in the flat when he got back. Instead of leaving while he was there, you started to write a note explaining why you were leaving. But he caught you before you could finish.
He stood near the kitchen entrance and looked you up and down, his eyes falling sad when he saw the bag on the sofa. ‘Y/N? What are you doing?’
‘What I should have done a long time ago,’ you admitted firmly, putting the pen down and looking at him.
Just as you had thought, he looked so good for someone who had just spent an hour and a half working out. His arms were strong and tensed as he rested his hands on his hips. His hair was slicked back underneath a baseball cap and the bottom half of his face was covered in a short stubble.
‘I don’t belong in London,’ you forced yourself to say. ‘I’ve never belonged here. I only stayed because of you. I’ve wanted to get out for so long.’
‘You only stayed because of me?’ He asked. He was hurt. You could tell with the crease of his eyebrows. ‘You only stayed in London because of me? Way to make me feel bad.’
‘Taron, I told you when we first started this,’ you motioned between the two of you with your finger, ‘that I wasn’t staying in London. I don’t like being here. It is suffocating. If I’m not in this flat I’m in a tiny studio flat with nothing to do. I need to go. I need to be free.’
‘So I make you feel trapped?’ He asked.
He took a step towards you. You took a step back.
‘Y/N…’
‘Taron. What am I to you?’
His brows creased more. ‘What? What do you mean?’
‘What am I to you? You asked again, this time a little further. You wanted to hear something specific, something that would stop you from taking your bag and leaving the flat, leaving London, potentially leaving the country. ‘I want you to be brutally honest. What am I?’
He stumbled over his words, physically unable to tell you what you were to him. You pulled your bottom lip into your mouth and nodded through a sad smile. A tear fell down your cheek and you swatted it away quickly, not wanting to cry in front of him.
‘That’s why I’m leaving,’ you said finally. ‘I can’t keep putting myself on the line for someone who can’t even tell me what I am to them. You couldn’t even say that I’m a friend. Do you have any idea how shit that makes me feel, Taron?’
He nodded. He did know. Because it made him feel just as shitty.
‘The one person who has been there for me since I moved to this shitty city can’t even call me the thing he claimed to be all of two days ago? The one person who is the reason I moved here can’t even tell me that I’m a friend. I bet you didn’t know that I’m falling in love with you, did you?’
Taron looked at you through wide eyes, mouth ajar as he watched you lift the note you’d started to write from the counter, ripping it into pieces and dropping it into the bin.
It had been your idea to begin with. To sleep together simple to relieve your desire to have sex. He agreed, under the pretence that you were going to remain friends. No feelings were going to be involved. You were just friends who slept together when you needed some relief.
You’d managed to keep the feelings away. For a while. You’d gone a year of just sleeping together. No feelings involved. But then one of your work colleagues caught you smiling at one of his texts and you knew you were fucking. And not by him.
‘You said-’
‘I know. I agreed to no feelings. And I meant it. I’m a shit girlfriend. I’m jealous and I’m selfish. And I fuck everything up. I never wanted our friendship to be in the line of fire. I realised the other week that it wasn’t just sex for me anymore. It was so much more. That’s why I have to leave. I can’t stay here falling in love with someone who doesn’t view me as anything other than a sex doll.’
‘You’re falling in love with me?’
‘Now isn’t the time to have a heart to heart, Taron. I’m leaving. I’m doing you the favour and taking myself out of your life. I don’t belong in London. I won’t end up in London.’
You walked to the sofa and grabbed your back, shaking Taron off when he tried to grab your arm to stop you. All you wanted to do was fall into his arms but you couldn’t. He didn’t love you the way that you loved him. Putting the spare key he had given you on the table next to the door, you took one last look at Taron before closing the door and walking to the lift.
You’d lost the one person you wanted to run to.
‘And I told him that I was in love with him.’
Sian whipped you around to look at you, her hands on your arms to steady you both. ‘You told him what?’
‘Did you know that we were friends with benefits?’ You asked. When Sian shook her head you carried on. ‘We vowed that there wouldn’t be feelings involved. And I shouldn’t have suggested it. Because I think I was already falling in love with him when we started. But I shoved it all down and we used each other for sex.’
‘I can’t believe what I’m hearing.’ Sian looked between you and Taron. ‘When he came here two years ago because he was really upset…’
‘I told him that I was suffocating and that I was going to remove myself from his life,’ you continued for her, looking at him with sad eyes. ‘At the time I meant it. I was really suffocating but it wasn’t London, and it wasn’t him. It was me. I was suffocating myself. Pushing feelings as strong as I had down for so long was the worst thing I could have done. So I left. And I messed everything up.’
Sian shook her head, ‘I don’t think you did. I think you did what you needed to at the time.’
‘Do you know he’s wearing the cologne I got him for Christmas four years ago? It still smells just as good as it once did.’
‘It’s all he ever wears. I’ve not seen him wearing anything else since you left. I think he’s been hanging on to any hope that you’d come back and that things-’
‘They can’t go back to how they once were.’
‘I’m not saying that they have to. I’m just saying that he’s been pining for you.’
You chuckled softly. ‘I think I have him too. Not that he’s going to care. Or know. I can’t tell him.’
‘Why can’t you?’
You sighed and looked at her seriously. ‘Because isn’t he seeing someone new? It’s all anybody can talk about.’
It was hard to escape Taron online. He was everywhere you went. Photos of him getting cosy to a redhead at a café in London, laughing at something said and drinking coffee on your Instagram discover page; photos of his various work projects being shared with your mutual friends; his own Instagram stories popping up when you least expected them to.
He was everywhere and nowhere all at once. Too close but too far.
‘They worked together,’ she chuckled. ‘She was called Honour and she has the same type as Taron.’
You looked at her in confusion. ‘Women.’
Laughing, you shook your head. ‘Sian, what do I do?’
Taron was walking back over to you then, the two glasses of champagne in hand and a smile on his face. He passed you one of the glasses and smiled at Sian.
‘Congratulations, Sian. You look absolutely beautiful. Elwyn is one lucky man.’
‘Thank you, Taron. Y/N, I think you know what you need to do,’ she smirked, walking away and heading to her new husband who was waiting for her with open arms.
‘What do you need to do?’ Taron asked, tipping the glass up so that the golden liquid could slip down his throat.
‘Oh, nothing,’ you said, tipping your own drink back. ‘Come on, dinner will be getting served too.’
******
After dinner, the bridal party all made their speeches. You laughed, you cried, your heart broke and you were given hope. Sian and Elwyn looked absolutely perfect together as they sat at the head table, listening to their nearest and dearest talk about them and their relationship.
Taron and you were on the same table, sitting so close to one another that you could feel the heat of his body against yours. His breath fanned against your shoulder when he leaned forward to pick his phone up from the floor when it fell off the table, and you had to close your eyes to stop yourself from doing anything that you would regret.
‘The bride and groom are now going to share their first dance,’ the DJ spoke, all of the guests clapping and cheering as Elwyn guided Sian to the dancefloor, spinning her into his arms and moving with her to the music.
Taron turned to you with a smile, but you didn’t look at him. You were too taken by your two friends, their smiles lighting up the entire room and their hearts so visibly full as they enjoyed a few minutes to take everything in.
The lyrics of Unchained Melody ran through your entire body, igniting something deep within you that you didn’t know you felt anymore.
‘The bride and groom would like any couples to join them on the dance floor for the final verse of the song to share in their special moment.’
Taron didn’t think twice before he grabbed your hand and guided you to the dance floor, wrapping one arm around your waist and grabbing your other to hold at shoulder height. You couldn’t look at him for a second, but when you did, everything slowed down around you.
Woah, my love, my darling / I’ve hungered for your touch / A long, lonely time / And time goes by so slowly / And time can do so much
Your hand was clammy in Taron’s as you stared into his eyes wholly, his tongue running along the bottom of his lip and pulling it into his mouth. The words were so true, but you didn’t know how to communicate how you were feeling. Something in you realised that Taron must have understood otherwise he wouldn’t have got you to the dance floor to dance with him.
Are you still mine? / I need your love / I need your love / Godspeed your love to me
You just about managed to catch him looking from your eyes to your lips and back up again, and you instinctively copied his action, wetting your lips slowly. The sound of your heartbeat drowned out the sound of people chattering, the loud thumping stopping you from focussing on anything but Taron and it.
The song ended and people made their way back to their seats, but you stayed where you were, dancing to the next song that came on.
I found a love, for me / Darling just dive right in / And follow my lead
The hand that once rested upon your waist moved to rest at your jaw, pulling you in so close that you could taste the champagne he’d had on his breath. His nose brushed against yours and upon your better judgement, your eyes fluttered closed, fisting his shirt tighter in your hand. He ghosted his lips over yours and took a shaky breath, rubbing the top of your cheek with the pad of his thumb.
When I saw you in that dress, looking so beautiful / I don’t deserve this, darling, you look perfect tonight
When he finally pressed his lips against yours, you relaxed into his touch, pressing your head against his hand to feel him closer. It took a couple of seconds for your eyes to open when he pulled away, his forehead resting against yours as he looked at you.
‘Taron-’
‘I know. I know,’ he whispered, taking your hand and pulling you outside into the cooler evening air. ‘When you left, you didn’t let me-’
‘T-’
‘Let me say this, please,’ he begged.
He grabbed both of your hands and held them tightly, taking a deep breath and looking directly at you. Your nerves bubbled in the pit of your tummy as you watched him, breaths heavy.
‘When you left, you asked me what you were to me. I couldn’t physically get the words out. You were there, telling me that you were suffocating, and then you asked me what you were to me. I knew that if I told you that I was falling in love with you, that you would feel even more suffocated. I was losing you and I didn’t want you to feel obligated to stay if you knew how I felt. So I couldn’t tell you. I couldn’t tell you that I bought an extra hoodie because I knew you liked to steal mine and I wanted you to have one just for you. I couldn’t tell you that I was excited to get home from work and see you in my flat cooking. I couldn’t tell you that I admired your body and the curve of your bum against my hand. I couldn’t tell you that you were the best thing that happened to me.’
The wedding still went on loudly behind you, but you could only hear Taron. He was staring at you directly as he spoke, but his eyes kept flicking away from you, nerves taking over.
‘I loved you. I still do, I think. In fact, no, I know that I still love you. You were the best thing that ever happened to me and losing you was the worst thing that’s ever happened to me.’
You stood completely still, breathing jagged and unable to say anything. Everything you wanted to hear two years prior was being said and you couldn’t move. For two years you’d thought that you’d done Taron a favour by leaving. That by putting your feelings last, you could save you both the heartbreak. For two years you grieved the loss of the person you loved more than anything, not knowing that he felt the same.
‘Y/N? Y/N please say something. If I’ve just fucked everything up then I am so sorry. I know you didn’t come here today to hear me go on and on about how I-’
You crashed your lips with his, holding his face in place as you stood on your tiptoes. He grabbed your waist and pulled you into his front. You gasped, giving him the perfect opportunity to slip his tongue into your mouth, swiping it against yours over and over. His hands held you in place, slowly reaching down to hold your bum. Instinctively, you jumped up and wrapped your legs around his waist, letting him walk you blindly to a spot less visible to everyone in the tent behind you.
‘I love you,’ he whispered against your lips.
‘I love you too,’ you smiled against his. ‘You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to say that.’
******
‘’Ve missed you so much,’ Taron whimpered into your mouth, his hips jerking forward messily as your head tugged his cock slowly and softly. ‘Jesus fuck, that feels so good.’
‘I didn’t expect this when I got the invitation,’ you told him honestly. ‘I don’t even know what this is.’
He moaned, a shudder dancing down his spine as his breathing picked up. Your hand wrapped around him perfectly, stroking his length as though you’d never stopped. He’d craved your touch for so long that now he had it, he was worried he wouldn’t ever want to stop.
‘This,’ he stuttered, ‘is two idiots who couldn’t tell one another how they felt at a pivotal moment finally confessing everything…at their friends’ wedding.’
‘Fuck we’re at Sian and Elwyn’s wedding.’ You had only just realised that you were at a wedding, with over one hundred people in a teepee mere metres away from where you were with your hand wrapped around Taron’s dick and pulling out the sweetest moans that you’d missed from the pit of his tummy.
His hands roamed every part of your body that they physically could; your hips, the swell of your bum, your sides, your boobs, your neck, your thighs. A trail of goosebumps following the gentle trace of his fingers.
‘I’ve missed you too, though,’ you added, pressing your lips to his in a passionate kiss.
He tensed when you quickened your pace wanting to feel him come undone. Your skin ignited when he dropped his head to your shoulder and sucked a delicate kiss to your exposed collarbone. His hand grabbed your wrist when he was getting close, halting your movements and kissing your neck again to muffle the moan that reverberated throughout his entire body.
‘Can I…can I taste you, please? Just one taste?’
Bringing his face up to kiss him needily, you nodded, moaning as he dropped to his knees, not caring if they got stained from the bark floor. His hands found purchase on the sides of your knees and you shuddered at the sight when you peered down to see him looking up at you through his eyelashes.
Almost as if you were a china doll that he was scared to break, he lifted your dress softly, gliding his hands up the length of your legs and chuckling knowingly when a sheen of goosebumps popped up all over your thighs.
He pressed a soft kiss to your thigh before he hooked his fingers into the sides of your white lace underwear, pulling them down your legs torturously slowly, the cool evening air dancing against your exposed heat. You jerked forward, needing to feel him, and he looked up at you
‘Now look who’s impatient,’ he smirked up at you, helping you step out of the underwear and popping it into the pocket of his shirt. ‘You’ve no idea how long I’ve waited to taste you again.’
He rested his nose against the bottom of your tummy, tapping your left leg, silently instructing you to lift it over his shoulder. From your new position he had perfect access to your core. He licked his lips when he saw how wet you were, and he slipped his finger into your folds, drifting to your entrance where your arousal pooled. With a sigh of content, he pulled your wetness to your clit, circling it slowly a couple of times and resting his hand on your tummy to stop you from moving forward at the touch.
With your back against a tree, it was hard to get comfortable, but as soon as Taron pressed the most delicate of kisses to your folds, you didn’t care. Your hips jerked forward and his nose nudged your clit, the sensation causing a tingling feeling in your lower belly. A feeling you hadn’t felt in a long time.
You tried to grip onto his hair but the gel that slicked it back made it impossible. There was nothing to grip onto, nothing to muffle the moans that you couldn’t hold in.
When he licked from your entrance to your clit, his own moan vibrating through your, you balled your hand into a fist and tried to use it to muffle your sounds. Taron continued to devour your centre. He lapped at your arousal like he hadn’t drank in weeks. He was insatiable, focusing on one thing for no more than ten seconds at a time, needing to get as much of you as he could.
As he created a rhythm, he glided a hand up your front until he could grab your wrist, teasing your hand down for him to grip onto. You laced your fingers together, resting your hands at the middle of your abdomen, looking down at him and letting out another long, drawn out moan.
His eyes were partially closed, the feeling of giving you pleasure pleasuring him also. Your neck flexed when he pulled your clit into his mouth, sliding a finger into you and curving it up slightly. Even after two years, he knew exactly where to reach and he moaned into you when you jerked your hips forward. It was hard to hold your composure, and your leg was hurting from holding you up.
He added a second finger to the mix, bringing you excruciatingly close to orgasm. But right as your hand reached to grip his hair, the same way it did when you would sleep together regularly, he pulled away with a pop and helped you lower your leg to the ground, your dress falling to your knees once more.
You whimpered against him but he simply pressed a kiss to your lips. You could taste yourself on him and you wrapped your arms around his neck to pull him closer to you.
‘Wanna feel you coming undone around me.’
‘Taron,’ you moaned softly, holding him in place as he held your bum and squeezed it not so subtly. ‘Wanna feel you. Wanna feel you so fucking bad. I’ve missed you.’
He smiled against your mouth, sliding his hands down to your thighs so that he could pick you up. Your legs wrapped around his waist as he pressed you further against the tree, the bark scratching your back but somehow still feeling good against your skin.
‘Don’t have a condom,’ he muttered.
‘Doesn’t matter. I’m on the pill and worst case I can go to a chemist tomorrow.’
Dropping his head into your shoulder, he gripped the base of his now throbbing cock with one hand and pressed it to your entrance, gathering some of your arousal before pressing into you. You moaned in unison, the feeling of being so beautifully stretched overwhelming. It had been a long while since you were stretched like that and Taron gave you a few moments to relax before he started to move.
His hips found a rhythm quickly, the rhythm he knew would have you coming undone within minutes. You mewled against him, panting against his lips when he moved to kiss you.
‘Forgot how perfect you feel wrapped around me like that. Missed you so fucking much.’
‘Feels so good. Gonna cum if you don’t stop.’
‘I don’t plan on stopping any time soon,’ he chuckled, continuing to thrust up into you.
Your hands moved from his neck to his shoulders and down to his waist before making their way back up to his neck. You came undone before you could even comprehend what was happening, your legs tensing around his waist and your hands balling fists of his shirt tightly. A moan from the pit of your belly and the flutter of your walls against his cock had Taron’s head spinning, his own orgasm following suit.
‘Jesus Christ that was…’
‘Intense?’ You finished for him, kissing his lips. ‘But the best kind of intense.’
‘I’m sorry I never told you how I felt that day.’
‘Is it bad I’m not? Had you have told me, who knows what would have happened. But look at us now.’
‘I wonder if Sian will know what we’ve just got up to.’
‘I think she will,’ you laughed, dropping your legs from his waist and shakily grabbing your pants from his pocket, lifting them over your legs and pulling them on while Taron situated himself in his trousers. ‘I haven’t had sex like that in a long time.’
Taron’s eyebrows lifted, smirk playing at his lips. ‘Oh yeah? Sex like what?’
You swatted his chest, your lips failing you and smiling. ‘Sex somewhere that I could get caught at any moment. But also sex that makes me feel like my entire body is on fire. Only you have made me feel like that.’
‘Oi, you two.’
The voice came from the clearing just behind you, and you peered around the tree to see Sian standing with her hands on her hips and eyebrows raised. A heat made its way to your cheeks and Taron chuckled.
‘Yes, Sian?’ He asked innocently.
‘I’m very happy that you’ve made up and just given each other what I am assuming to be a mindblowing orgasm, but we’re about to cut the cake and it would be nice to have everyone there. Think you can keep it in your pants for another hour?’
‘We’ll be right there.’
Sian walked back into the teepees with a loud laugh and Taron took your hand in his, guiding you out of the woodland and towards the table where you’d eaten your food. You started to shiver when you were in the open again, so he draped his jacket over your shoulders and pulled you into his side, situating you on your seat before he sat down himself, smirking to Sian who shook her head playfully at the two of you.
‘She’s never going to let us live this down’ he whispered into your ear before pressing a kiss to your cheek. ‘Ever.’
Dude, duuuuuuuuuuuuuuude! Does anyone even remember me? Sorry for the very long hiatus, but I’m dipping my toes back into fanfic writing. Hopefully I’m not too rusty. What better way to come back with trying out an original story, that’s right this bad boy is coming from my head.
You can all thank @justsomerandomfanfic for waking me up. Seriously, thank you so much for liking my writing. It means the world (I thought my writing was pretty bad not gonna lie haha) but I am so glad I can make someone’s day with it! Apologies in advance. Please let me know if I should add any specific warnings! Hearts, reblogs, and comments are lovely!
I am going to try and attempt a GN reader x Eggsy (please let me know if I need to fix anything)
Tumblr media
Eggsy x GN Reader
Word Count: A little over 1k
Warnings: Implied fighting and not so great friends (it’s not too bad tho)
It was supposed to be just a chill night out with some friends at a rather less crowded bar. Yeah it was anything but that. Once the words “Manners, maketh, man.” were thrown into the mix and all bets were off the table. Various objects like tables, chairs, and umbrellas went flying as their eyes scanned to find various things.
1. Find a safe exit (The front doors had been barricaded shut, but there’s got to be an emergency exit somewhere in this dump).
2. Stick with the people you know.
3. Get out.
After a few close attempts the group decided to book it for an exit that was in the back of the little kitchen in the bar. The friends left in a hurry not giving their final remaining friend a clear plan.
“Thanks guys! Thanks for not TELLING ME THE PLAN!” The tone was in the midst of transitioning from rather annoyed to fearing for their life. But rather than hearing screams and carious grunts the room was eerily silent. It’s at this moment that they realized someone just saw their outburst. Turning to face the one man army they noticed the umbrella that had been previously used to take out at least half of the patrons in the bar who are currently laying on the ground. “Put the umbrella down.” The rather well dressed man slowly followed orders as he gently placed his Kingsman umbrella onto the floor. “Now, unlock the doors.” With some loud clicking the entrance was now unlocked. “Ok I’m going to leave.” It was an agonizingly slow exit as they never turned their back on the stranger.
“Sorry I ruined your night out.” Once his accent came out their heart dropped just the tiniest bit, it didn’t help that he sheepishly scratched the back of his neck exposing a rather good physique in the muscles of his arms.
“No, do not try to play the cute guy card with me.” Their hands pressed onto their hips as the shortness of breath from the entire situation finally caught up. A strained sigh came over as the lights reflecting off the rainy pavements were not helping.
“The cute card?” His hands fixed his suit as he finally exited the bar smoothly opening the umbrella right over both of their heads. “I’d rather say I’m just charming in general.” His wink was met with a side eye. “Alright I kind of get the sense that maybe I did something wrong.”
“Hmmmm I’m not sure let me go ask someone in the bar if they know,” It was the fake walk back to the bar that made him chuckle. “Oh yeah that’s right, they’re all passed out!”
“Would it make you feel better if I said I was Batman or something?”
“Batman doesn’t fight crime dressed like Bruce Wayne.”
“Batman isn’t Bruce Wayne.” The seriousness in his voice just made the joke even better. Their eyes rolled with a smile as a well deserved slug was met on his shoulder. “Let’s start over,” He offered his hand for a shake. “Eggsy.”
“Eggsy?” The bridge of their nose scrunched up in thought. “I haven’t been in the UK that long but I will admit that’s the most unique name I’ve come across so far.”
“Well my real name is Gary but I go by Eggsy!” His face was beaming as he explained the story of his nickname. On the other hand the poor bystander was just wanting to go home.
“Yeah that’s really cool and all but I kind of need to get home.” It was their polite yet desperate grimace and the shuffling of feet that made Eggsy connect the dots. Maybe don’t go straight for someone you’re interested in right after making them think they were your next victim. The string of muttered curses that left his lips made it hard to not fall deeper into the surprisingly chill and trendy guy. “Y/N, forgot to tell you. That’s my name.” Finally learning the mystery person’s name gave Eggsy a little faith that he wasn’t a complete failure with charming someone.
“That has to be the weirdest name I’ve ever heard.”
“Oh shut up!” In what would be the weirdest of situations the two found light at the end of the tunnel, a blossoming friendship that Eggsy only dreamed would turn into something else only with time. “No but seriously I have work at 7AM, I need sleep.”
“Do you need a ride?” A part of Eggsy was holding onto hope that the offer would be accepted but he knew the chances were slim.
“As much fun as that sounds, I drove here.” Y/N held up their keys as they pressed the lock button a couple of times causing the car to beep back. “Thanks for the offer.” The night was cold as they rubbed their hands together. “I hope to never see you pissed off at a bar ever again.” A cheesy smile was plastered on their face as Eggsy’s face flushed slightly but due to the cold weather he was able to hide it.
“Yeah hopefully next time we meet, it isn’t like this.” Y/N’s head turned towards him as they laughed a bit.
“What do you want my number or something?” The laugh died fairly quickly as they noticed the look on his face.
“I mean, I wouldn’t be opposed.” He gently kicked a nearby rock. After a quick number exchange the two finally went their separate ways. Y/N noticed the number scribbled on the back of some business card as they slipped it over for further inspection.
“Kingsman?” Some store they had never heard of as they just got in their car and headed back to their apartment. Opening the door their roommate came barreling through giving them a hug.
“Oh my gosh, I was so worried when we lost you at the bar!” Y/N’s shoulders slumped into the hug.
“Yeah you guys were real worried alright.” The tone and sentiment were definitely called for especially since nobody even reached out to help. Not wanting to give it the light of day Y/N just went to their own little room and locked the door. That whole friends thing was for another day, but not now.
The next morning was uneventful as their shift went by with nothing really special happening. Not a bad day, not a good day, just a day. But hey at least the customer’s weren’t the absolute worst today.
“Can I clock out?” The manager slightly jumped in her seat not noticing their hire, engrossed in their emails.
“Oh yeah, thanks for your help.” And with the okay to leave it was a race to find somewhere to get food. With food on the brain, they almost passed something until a shiny golden logo caught their eye. It was the Kingsman store, Y/N took a peek through the window to see what exactly was being sold there but was met with Eggsy who sat across from another man dressed up just like him.
“No way.”
Hello lovely,
I would like to request an imagine with Jimmy. Something similar to that one scene in the first episode in the restaurant but before the smutty part comes they are somewhere on the balcony with a glass of wine and talking about constellations and watching the Perseids. And after some time spent together on the balcony they end up in his house in bed where he makes sure to take care of her 😽. Thanks!
PS.Make it as smutty as you wish
Tumblr media
Note: Hi lovely, thank you so much for your request. I want to apologize for this taking so long. Truth be told, I had a hard time with the smut so I added only a little bit but I can assure you that there is some juicy Jimmy Keene smut to come so please know that I'm not jipping you, I just had a hard time coming up with good smut.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this imagine and if you have any questions, comment or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
===
Chewing her lip nervously, y/n had no idea why she’d even agreed to go on a date with her sister’s former high school crush and big shot, Jimmy Keene. She had always viewed him as cocky, big headed and extremely egotistical. It made her stomach churn if she was being completely honest.
When she had run into him at some sort of gathering her ‘friend’ Samantha was hosting and he approached her with that stupid smug smirk on his face, she knew he wanted something. It was the same look he had given her when he begged her to do his homework for him so he could go off and bang Courtney and her band of blonde headed goobers.
She so badly wanted to roll her eyes and turn in the other direction but when Samantha walked up to them and practically agreed for her and then walked off as though she was wanting to play matchmaker, y/n gave Jimmy the biggest unenthusiastic smile she could muster and if he was being honest, her unenthusiasm did something to stir his insides. He liked her and knew he had to have her.
Unfortunately for her, y/n was a people pleaser and even though she had a deep-rooted grudge against the man in front of her, she confirmed Samantha’s words and earned herself a sleezy wink and cringy hand on the arm. Yup, she needed a hot shower where she could scrub the gross feeling away.
She didn’t stay at the gathering much longer. She could constantly feel Jimmy’s eyes scanning her body and she had to get out of there if she wanted to stop feeling like someone’s next meal.
Yuck!
Flashing forward a few days, y/n was standing in front of her full-length mirror regretting her choice for asking her co-worker Mandy for help on what to wear. The little black dress she wore seemed to hug her in places she didn’t think were possible. She felt a little too over dressed and that made her go back to the reason she really hated James Keene.
*FLASHBACK*
It was the week before prom and so far, no one had asked y/n or her twin sister Kayla to attend the event with them and normally that would bug them, but they had made a pact this year that if no one asked, they would go together and have the best time they could.
However, just two days before the said event, one of Jimmy’s teammates, Devon walked up to the pair whilst they were at their lockers getting ready for their next class. He had a plan that was sure to earn he and his friends the biggest laugh.
“Ladies.” Devon said, leaning against the locker next to y/n’s.
“Can we help you?” Y/n asked sassily. She knew plain and well who Devon was and of his  grotesque reputation.
“Easy little lady. I just  wanna talk to your friend.” Devon said making goo-goo eyes at her sister. Y/n tried to hold her breakfast down at how nauseating this kid was being.
Y/n looked to Kayla as if to check she was ok with it. Kayla nodded and gave y/n the go ahead to walk to class.
“I’ll see you in a minute.” Y/n said to Kayla but pointing her intense gaze at Devon in warning. She didn’t trust him in the slightest.
*END OF FLASHBACK*
Y/n was pulled from her thoughts when a knock sounded from her front door. She shook out her disgust and collected her things as she just wanted to get this date done with and because she didn’t want that man entering her apartment.
“Shall we go?” Y/n asked as she opened the door but to her surprise, when she looked up, she saw her sister standing there.
“Go where?” Kayla said with a teasing tone.
“Uh, n-nowhere.” Y/n stuttered. This could not have been worse timing.
“Uh ha. Well it’s good to see you too.” Kayla said as she let herself in.
“Kay, I love you, I really do but you gotta go.” Y/n said.
“But I just got here.” Kayla whined in protest as y/n shut the door and followed her to the kitchen.
“I know and we can catch up next week. You gotta-“ Y/n started before another knock on the door echoed through the apartment.
“Oh, I see, you have a hot date. I guess that would explain the slinky black dress.” Kayla chuckled. Y/n panicked.
She knew her sister hated James Keene more because of how he stood her up at the prom all those years ago.
“Please just stay here.” Y/n begged, hoping Kayla would listen but as per usual, the younger twin didn’t.
“Y/n, stop being so weird. I’ll answer the door, you get your things.” Kayla offered. She really was a sweet soul and y/n knew that if she saw Jimmy, she’d probably murder him.
“Kayla, don’t open that door.” Y/n called as she rushed to stop her sister, but it was too late.
“What the fuck do you want. She has a date and your interrupting.” Kayla snapped as she recognized Jimmy immediately. Kayla could feel her blood boil. How could he dare to show his face at a time like this.
“Kayla, he is my date.” Y/n said as calmly as she could knowing her sister was about to fly off the handle.
“That pig is your date!” Kayla all but squealed. Y/n simply nodded.
“Now that she knows, can I come in?” Jimmy asked.
Both women turned and glared at him.
“No. Just give me a minute. I’ll be right out.” Y/n said. Jimmy nodded and held his hands up as he walked away from the door to give them space to talk.
“How could you not tell me.” Kayla seethed.
“Kayla, how could I? You and Tom have been traveling god knows where and you landed on my doorstep without notice and besides, I didn’t want to go on this date in the first place, but Samantha agreed on my behalf, and you know how much of a bitch she can be when people don’t give into her matchmaking shit.” Y/n explained, not aware that Jimmy had heard her words.
“You had every opportunity to tell me when I walked in.” Kayla responded. Y/n knew that she had a point but, in all fairness, she thought that her sister was Jimmy.
“Kayla, can we please put a pin in this and talk about this later. I just want this date to be over and the sooner I can leave, the sooner I can come home.” Y/n begged. Kayla wasn’t happy about it but agreed reluctantly.
Yep, Jimmy heard that too and to say that his ego wasn’t bruised would be a lie.
=
The date with Jimmy hadn’t been going that bad. They had had a nice dinner and surprisingly, y/n really enjoyed hearing his stories and getting to know the real him but a part of her wondered why he was painting himself as this good kid when in fact she knew what he had gotten himself into and knew that his reputation around Chicago wasn’t exactly the greatest.
Sipping her wine and leaning over the railing of his balcony to watch the stars dance across the night sky, she took a deep breath and felt herself relax even though Jimmy was standing so close to her.
“Y/n, can I ask you something?” He asked as the perseids started. Y/n was amazed by their beauty and magic and smiled.
“Sure.” She answered, curious as to what else he could want to know. She had already told him things she never thought she would.
“If you didn’t want to go out with me, why did you decide to?” He questioned.
Y/n sighed. If she was being honest, she didn’t know why.
“You heard that?” She questioned in reply, attempting to dodge the question. Jimmy glanced at her and nodded.
“Look Jimmy, I’ve heard things about you, and I wasn’t sure I wanted to give you a chance after what you did to my sister.” Y/n answered carefully. Jimmy turned his gaze back to the sky, thinking of what to say next.
“Is that why your sister was mad?” Jimmy asked.
“Mad is an understatement, Jimmy. You hurt her deeply.” Y/n told him.
“I guess I deserve that.” He muttered.
“You laughed in her face after she confronted you and asked why you had stood her up. Jimmy, she had a crush on you, and you broke her that day. It was the hardest thing to see. She cried herself to sleep for weeks after that.” Y/n explained. Jimmy just listened as he tried to recall those events.
“I knew something was up when you sent Devon Andrews over to talk to her. I didn’t want to leave but she insisted it was ok. Kayla was over the moon when she heard that ‘the Jimmy Keene’ wanted to take her to prom. To her, it was like her dreams were coming true but then you stood her up and I had to break it to her that I saw you with Kimberly Smith….in a not so appealing position.” Y/n said.
“I thought I heard someone that night, but Kimberly told me I was being stupid.” He admitted.
“The worst part was that she had worked up so much courage to talk to you and then you told her that you’d never be with someone like her and proceeded to laugh in her face in front of the whole school. You made her feel unwanted and worthless. Took her a long time to come back from that and then she met her husband.” Y/n spoke.
Jimmy downed the rest of his wine. He had no idea what to say.
“I remember the look on her face when she ran past me. I hated you then and I hate you still, so, in answer to your question, I guess I agreed to the date because I wanted to see if you were still the pig I knew you to be and from the things I’ve heard, you still are.” Y/n said calmly.
“Wow, thanks.” He muttered.
“Jimmy, you do it to yourself. There is no reason for you to act like that. From what I’ve seen tonight, you have potential to be the gentleman I know is in there, but you have to stop thinking that you are better than everyone else and the womanizing, that would have to stop too.” Y/n told him honestly.
Jimmy smiled a little at that.
“You sound like my grandmother.” He slightly chuckled. Y/n smiled.
“What made you want to ask me out?” Y/n asked, now curious.
“I saw you talking to Samantha, and I don’t know, I thought you looked hot. I figured I’d ask but then you gave me that unenthusiastic smile, and well, you had me hooked.” Jimmy admitted with a cheeky smile.
“Is that it?” Y/n asked. Jimmy shrugged.
“Ok, fine. I’d always had a crush on you but knew you were out of my league. I never knew how to talk to you, so I thought that if I made you do my homework, I’d get to talk to you more but then Devon and Courtney did what they did, and I did what I did. I knew I had blown it.” Jimmy confessed.
“You’re being serious?” Y/n asked. Jimmy nodded.
“Then when I got the invite for Samantha’s Brunch, I decided to go in the hopes that you’d be there, and you were. Eventually I worked up the courage to talk to you and then you gave me that unenthused smile. It made me more excited for our date.” He told her.
“The fact that I was unenthusiastic made you more excited. Jimmy, do you know how gross that makes you sound?” Y/n responded.
“I’m realizing that now.” He said and y/n chuckled.
“Jimmy, why don’t we start over now that we aired out that dirty laundry.” Y/n suggested.
“I’d really like that.” He replied and y/n smiled genuinely for the first time that night.
Both of them smiled at each other and that’s when they felt it. The unmistakable feeling of needing to be closer.
“Can I kiss you?” Jimmy whispered as he and y/n leaned in closer. Y/n bit her lower lip in anticipation and nodded, letting a small hum of allowance escape her lips.
Jimmy slowly connected his lips with y/n’s in a very heated, hungry and passionate kiss. One that left them both feeling light-headed, weak in the knees and hot for each other.
=
Jimmy’s kisses assaulted her body and set it on fire. His hands were strong and skilled, his lips well trained and his tongue, it should be registered as a weapon of mass destruction. The way it methodically lapped at her most sensitive area had her writhing in absolute pleasure. Never in her life did she think that she would be under this man, but she could see why he had so many women after him. He was for lack of a better word, a devilish sex god.
“Oh fuck.” Y/n gasped as Jimmy removed his fingers slowly. The sensation giving her belly butterflies.
“I’ve been thinking about this for so long.” Jimmy whispered, making y/n gaze up at him. She didn’t know whether to be turned off by that admission or turned on by it but with the way her body was feeling at that moment, she chose to let those words fuel her lust for him. She was enjoying this way too much and she really wanted the full Jimmy Keene experience.
“Shut up and fuck me.” Y/n moaned out as she felt Jimmy’s fingers teasing her.
Jimmy chuckled lowly and gave her a naughty smile.
“Yes ma’am.” He replied. Oh god this was good.
=
The next morning as the sun beamed in through the curtains of the lavish and expensive looking master suite, y/n woke with a start. Somewhere there was a loud whirring sound, and she was not appreciative of it. She was someone who hated being woken up early on the weekend. She viewed weekends as a time of rest and relaxation, not noise and chaos.
Y/n growled lowly and attempted to stretch but when she felt her body protest, she remembered the absolute pounding she received from the man no longer next to her. That’s when she realized that it must be him making such racket.
She gently maneuvered her sore, stiff and somewhat bruised body from the confines of Jimmy’s bed to go and see what he was up to but as soon as her feet hit the ground, the bedroom door opened to reveal Jimmy carrying a tray of assorted foods.
Eggs, toast, bacon, fruit and some sort of weird looking pastry. Not to mention whatever the fuck he felt was important to blend early in the morning.
“Morning beautiful.” Jimmy said, coming to a stop on his side of the bed.
“Morning. What is all of this?” Y/n asked, finding it difficult to watch his movements as her body was still facing the door.
“Sore?” He asked, dodging her question.
“What do you think genius.” Y/n snapped a little. Jimmy looked at her and raised his brow.
“Not a morning person I see.” He replied.
“Not on the weekends and especially not when someone wakes me up with their fucking noise.” She told him. Jimmy nodded.
“I’ll remember that for next time.” He said, making y/n’s brows shoot up.
“What makes you think there will be a next time?” She questioned with a hint of distain to her voice. Or maybe it was just sleep.
“Well, I assumed after you kept screaming my name over and over again last night, there would be a next time.” He said cheekily.
Y/n blushed and shook her head as she finally moved her body to lay back against the pillows.
“Cocky bastard.” Y/n muttered but made sure it was loud enough for him to hear.
Jimmy smirked at her.
“Try that again and maybe there will be a next time.” Y/n told him. She really did mean what she had said the night before. He really needed to tone down his actions if he wanted to get further in life.
“You’re right but I really would like it if we could do this again.” Jimmy said genuinely.
“The sex or dinner?” Y/n questioned.
“Dinner but I wouldn’t mind the sex part either.” He teased.
“Alright you horny prick, I’m starving. Let’s eat.” She replied as she made grabby hands toward the tray of assorted goods he brought up for them to enjoy.
“How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I love thee to the depth and breadth and height my soul can reach”
The front of the 7/1 hadn’t changed since Robyn was last at it and she shaded her eyes from the early morning sun as she stood on the footpath outside. Taking Taron’s advice, she had texted Maggie who had replied back to her straight away despite the late hour and told her she would meet her inside as she would already be on shift but now that Robyn was here, she didn’t know why she felt the need to come back to the store. Late into the night herself and Taron talked endlessly about their time in the store, sharing memories, stories and reminiscing about everything. They then moved onto each time they had spent together since like Eltons party where their hug was photographed many times, her first trip to Aber, her second trip to Aber when they had their first kiss, their second kiss as a dare for St Patrick’s Day and all the others since and he still was the beautiful, thoughtful and caring man she had met over a year ago in this dammed place.
“Fuck it.” She said to herself. “Just go in and out. You know Taron is fine. More than fine. You left him half an hour ago, lazing in bed and he will be still be there when you get back.” Even though Taron had said he would be at the beach waiting for her, he changed his mind and said he would stay at the hotel room for her until she got back and they could go and get something for brunch at one of the cafes on the beach together before strolling around Clearwater to look in some shops, taking a lazy easy day together.
With another sigh, Robyn knew Maggie was inside and going to be there for her and she finally took a step off the footpath into the car park, but stopped again outside the store. There was a shake in her hands and her heart was racing and again she was questioning herself as to why she even thought about doing this. It was a stupid idea. Who needed the closure. She was happy. She had Taron and he was all she needed. But looking up the store again, every now and again she still had nightmares and dreams and thoughts that she needed to heal and she had no idea when she was going to be back in Clearwater. It had been a year and she needed her next year to be nightmare free, while building more wonderful memories with Taron.
“Get a grip and just go in.” She told herself. “Get Taron his turtles and then get back to him.”
“Yes definitely don’t forget the turtles.” Robyn turned around when someone spoke behind her, immediately recognising the voice and she stood in shock when she saw Richard standing two feet from her, sunglasses on his face, dressed in shorts and a t-shirt. “He will never let you live it down if you don’t get them.”
It only took her one step to walk into his open arms for a hug and she felt her whole-body melt into his and his familiarity. She hadn’t seen him since her birthday weekend and it was wonderful to hug him again. Always in constant communication with each other through texts and calls, their friendship was so important to her. It was Richard she sat beside and spoke with as they sat in the 7/11 while Taron zoned in and out as he sat in pain. Richard who kept her in conversation and chat and distracted her from her own worries and she had a connection and friendship with the Scotsman that would always be important to her. Robyn couldn’t believe it was Richard who was hugging her tight to him and she closed her eyes and took a calming deep breath, feeling him rub his hands gently up and down her back.
“What are you doing here?” She asked into his shoulder after a few moments, finally lifting her head to look at him.
“Passing through.” He grinned, giving her cheek a kiss. “Heard you might need a friend.”
“Taron…” Robyn’s word was a sigh.
“Gave me call.”
“You’re in Clearwater?” She asked, her arms still in a hug around him, Richard’s the same around hers.
“Miami, but drove up.”
“Richard…” Robyn stepped back from him, her hands running through her hair. “You didn’t have to do that.”
“Of course I did.” He slipped his sunglasses from his face, hooking them into his t-shirt. “You think I am going to let you walk in here alone?”
“I will have Maggie.” Robyn protested, seeing Richard raise his eyebrow.
“And I don’t dispute how good a friend she is for but me and you, we went through something in here together Robyn and you know how we kept each other from panicking as we sat and we should walk in here together and back out…”
“… With me too.”
If she was shocked to see Richard, when Taron appeared, Robyn’s heart dropped to her feet and thankfully he reached for her to take her in his arms and she clung to him tightly.
Taron already knew he was going to tell Robyn to go the 7/11 as they sat on the beach together after their disagreement. He had a whole speech prepared for her, to say to her in the bath but the shorter version came out just telling her to go. He could tell she desperately wanted to when they were sitting on the sand but also that she that she did not want to hurt his feelings in doing so. He had always respected her and her wishes and he never wanted to stop her from doing something she needed to do, so when he was finished with his treatments at the spa the day before, he had rung Richard to ask him if he was available for a few hours. Knowing he was filming close, Taron asked his friend to help him out. He would always be there for Robyn, in the same way she had been for him but knew he was going to need another person by their side in case he couldn’t do it, in case the pain of what happened to him meant he wasn’t able to go in. But three of them together, supporting each other, meant they had each other to lean on. He had spoken with his mam earlier when Robyn left, apologising for the very early call but he needed some motherly advice and with wise words from his mother, assurance he was doing the right thing, he now stood hugging Robyn tight outside the place he didn’t really think he would be going back to so soon.
“What are you doing here?” Robyn asked him, breaking the hug, but her hands were still around his waist. “You should be back in the hotel room and you…” She turned to Richard. “I am not even too sure where you should be but it’s not here.”
“It’s the right time cariad, for all of us.” Taron reached for her hand and held it tight. “We went through this together a year ago, it is only right we come back here together, to heal, for closure.”
“But it is still so hard for you.” Robyn returned his hard grip.
“Sure, but when is there ever going to be a good time to return to the place where you died for a minute. I have you, I have Richard and we are going to do this together, as we always should have.”
Richard reached for her other hand. “Together we got through it the first time, and together we will walk in, get the turtles and walk back out.”
“I love you both.” Robyn said to them, seeing Taron’s face crinkle in a little grin. “You sure?” She caught his little nod. “Right then. Let’s do this.” She placed herself between them both and took each of their hands in hers, Taron linking her fingers with her immediately.
The sliding doors opened once they stepped forward and it was a hard first footstep to walk into the store for all of them, the blast of air con cool on already goose bumped skin. It looked exactly the same inside as it had done all those months ago, the fridges to the left, the tills to the right, aisles in front of them.
“Do we need a basket?” Richard asked. “How many turtles are we buying?”
“No basket.” Robyn replied, feeling Taron squeezing her hand to the point where his grip was hurting her but she didn’t dare let him go. “We won’t be getting that many.” She felt Richard straying a little to the left, so let his hand go, her free one wrapping around Taron’s. “Ok?”
“Freaking out a little bit.” He admitted, his eyes avoiding the aisle he had been dreading the most.
Robyn let go of his left hand and slipped her right arm around his waist, her left hand reaching for his hand now so she could really hold him tight. “You are safe. I promise. We don’t have to go any further. We can just walk out now.”
Taron shook his head. “No.” He replied. “Let’s follow Richard.”
Taking a left, they caught up with their friend and wandered slowly down the aisle, passing the back office and staff room door, Richard ahead of them in the next aisle but Robyn had stopped, Taron standing beside her.
“Cariad?”
“Do you know I nearly broke my ankle trying to get to you when Richard yelled at me. There was a huge pile of bricks just there and I literally surfed down them to get to you.” She felt the kiss he placed on the side of head. “And I still think Richard is a little scared of me after I ripped your t-shirt open.” She half smiled.
“Wasn’t it white?” He asked.
Robyn lightly laughed at his question. “It actually was.”
“I really need more colour, don’t I?”
Robyn started to walk again her arm still locked around Taron’s waist. “You wear lots of colour and a white t-shirt is kinda your signature look.” She took long footsteps past the place Taron had lay a year ago, half dragging him with her but she felt a pull on her hand and had to stop.
“You know, while the memories are hard, the experience horrible, if it hadn’t of happened, I would never have met you Robyn.” He glanced to the floor and then turned to look her in the eye, brushing hair away from her forehead. “But we made it through and we have so many wonderful memories built since.” He titled her chin so she had to look in his eye. “This is the last piece of the puzzle we both need cariad, to finally breathe again fully and even though I know it will still always sting a little, I am kinda in a very strange and weird way, grateful because I have the most amazing best friend and most perfect girlfriend standing beside me because of it.”
“And I thought you were the one who didn’t want to come here yet you are the one comforting me.”
Taron shook his head a little. “Completely freaking out on the inside.” His eyes drifted to the floor. “But the first Robyn speech I ever got, told me to think positive and that we were there for each other and we are and always will be.” He gently kissed her forehead and pulled her in for a hug. “So I am going to be positive and close the book on the 7/11.”
Robyn lifted her head from Taron’s shoulder and gently ran a finger over the small scar on his head. “Wounds heal, horrible memories fade and I love you. More than I think I could ever imagine.” She gave his lips a light kiss. “Thank you coming here Taron.”
“Wasn’t that hard.” He replied, a half grin on his face.
“Hmm ‘cos your racing heart tells a different story.” Robyn had placed her hand on his chest. “Best sound in the world.”
“Oi you two.” Their heads turned when they heard Richard’s accent echo through the store. “Turtles?”
“Sure.” Taron called back. “On the way.” He kissed Robyn lightly again. “I want at least five packets.”
“Five?” Robyn grinned, starting to walk with him towards their friend who was browsing through the other sweets.
“Taron? Robyn?”
On hearing a new accent and voice, the couple turned completely around to look at the person who spoke, Robyn recognising the man immediately. “Joe!” She stepped away from Taron and greeted him with a hug. “Well I didn’t think I would ever see you again.”
“Perhaps a slim chance, but never here.” He took a step towards Taron and held out his hand for a hand shake. “You probably have no idea who I am.”
Taron looked at Robyn and then it clicked with him. “Joe. The paramedic. Fuck, shit, sorry.” Taron blushed a little and shook the man’s hand. “Sorry, it’s nice to meet you, well again. I don’t particularly remember the first time.”
Joe smiled. “I should think not. How are you both?”
“We are good. Really good.”
“That’s great to hear.”
“Joe, ask me what you actually want to ask.” Robyn grinned, knowing the paramedic had another question on his mind.
“Ok.” He crossed his arms over his chest. “What on earth are you two doing back here?”
Robyn looked to Taron and when they looked back to the paramedic both replied with ‘closure’.
“Joe, you left me talking to myself.” A women came to stand beside him and her face immediately showed the same surprise. “Robyn? Taron!”
“Dr Keane.” Taron recognised her immediately and reached out to shake the woman’s hand. “It’s nice to see you again.”
“You too and looking a hell of a lot better than when I last saw you and it’s Phoebe, not Doctor Hart and Robyn.” She shook her hand too. “I never expected to see you both again and together might I add.”
Robyn took a step back to Taron. “It’s been an eventful year.”
“Really?” Grinned Phoebe.
“Want the short version?”
“Please.”
“Taron found me and has kinda never left.” She heard him laugh at her short but true version of the last year. “We came to Clearwater for a holiday and back to the 7/11 for that last bit of closure we both needed. Richard is here as well.” She looked over her shoulder but Richard was caught up talking to Maggie and hadn’t noticed they were joined by some old familiar faces.
“I never thought the both of you would ever come back here.” Joe said. “I mean, the memories of this place.”
“Not the best.” Robyn agreed.
“Don’t remember much.” Taron added. “Except, I do remember it was because of you Doctor Keane that I was able to leave the hospital and find Robyn.”
“It’s Phoebe and it was what you needed. You needed to find Robyn and look I was right.” She gave a wink. “So you never left huh?”
“Well I did, after a while but Robyn kept following me then.”
“Hey!” Robyn gave him a little dig. “You have not complained once.”
“No I have not.”
Pheobe smiled at their playful interactions. “I am very happy for both of you.”
“I knew there was something there when I first met you too.” Joe added with his own smile. “You healed up ok Taron?” Joe asked.
“Hmm yeah. Took a few months. Hurt like hell in the beginning but I got there.”
“Robyn, you too?” He asked.
“Yeah. Had some very good help along the way.” She reached for Taron’s hand. “I know I never thanked you both for helping me a year ago. Joe, you looked after Taron so well and Phoebe, well he never would have been realised from hospital if it wasn’t for you. I really was not thinking straight when I left the hospital and thankfully Taron came to me. It was definitely what we both needed.”
“Not at all. Just doing our jobs.” Joe replied. “I am glad you managed to keep in contact though.”
“Me too.” Phoebe added with a grin. “Now, we should let you go and leave you enjoy your vacation. It was really great to see you both.”
With another set of hugs, they said goodbye and the couple made their way towards Richard who was still chatting with Maggie.
“Ok you can leave him alone now.” Robyn chuckled letting go of Taron’s hand to walk to her friend, standing between Maggie and Richard.
“We are just chatting.” Maggie grinned.
“Hmm, well how about me and you catch up and we leave the boys to pick the treats.” She took Maggie by the elbow and guided her towards the tills. “Seriously?”
“What!” Maggie exclaimed innocently. “I was just talking to him.” She saw Robyn raise an eyebrow at her. “His accent Robyn and the blue eyes, I mean who wouldn’t…”
“And that is my best friend you are talking about.” Robyn laughed lightly. “I really don’t think of him like that.”
“Well I do!”
Robyn shook her head at her friend. “I have missed you.” She grinned, laughing as they finally got to have a hug after a year.
“Missed you too.” Replied Maggie. “I didn’t think Taron was coming. And Richard, well I didn’t even know he was around.”
“Me neither. Taron planned it all.” They stood to the side together. “He didn’t want to come.” She glanced to her left. “We had an argument over it. We are just fine now. Heated emotions, and wounded memories but while I thought about coming here, he did not.”
“He came here for you Robyn.” Maggie softly said.
“Maybe.”
“He did. He absolutely adores you. Richard too.” She saw the sad look in Robyn’s eyes. “Come on, I know that look. Don’t even think it. You told me on the phone you wanted the closure and now you both have had the chance to come back and face the fear of being here together. Don’t feel guilty because Taron choose to come here too. If Richard and Taron really did not want to come here, they would not have. They are grown men Robyn and they can make up their own mind. They came because they have the same anxiety about this place as you do but it will heal now. Robyn, you are always talking about being positive. It is why you came to Clearwater in the first place all those years ago. A fresh start. A new beginning and when you walk out of those doors, you will be walking with Taron and Richard and you have gained the most amazing friendship and love from it all.”
Robyn threw her arms around her friend and hugged her close to her. “Thank you Maggie.”
“Any time.” She replied hugging her friend back. “Even though I am pissed we can’t have some time together but I know how much you adore him. That means I will be coming to see you now. You had better make space on the couch and move that dinosaur for me.”
“Move cwtch? I don’t think so!” Taron walked over to the two, Richard beside him, some chocolate in their hands. “His place is on the corner of my couch.”
Robyn chuckled at his words and then at Maggie’s face. “It’s a long story but you are welcome to come and stay with me whenever you want and cwtch can come to my bedroom.”
“Or stay with me.”
Robyn rolled her eyes and give Taron a light push. “Maggie, come whenever you would like. So did you two pick the chocolate you wanted?”
Richard smiled, holding up the red packets of turtles. “Yup.”
“Well let me check you out then.” Maggie walked behind the till and scanned through the numerous American sweets the boys had picked up. “Got enough?” She chuckled. “Reminds me of Robyn a year ago when she came here and stocked with a mountain of candy.”
Robyn went to protest but scrunched up her nose. “I actually can’t defend myself over that because it is true.”
“A Taron Egerton movie marathon was on the cards too if I remember correctly.” Maggie chuckled.
Robyn took a step forward to argue with her friend but Taron placed a hand on her shoulder. “You know she had Eddie the Eagle saved in her Netflix when I went to her house?” He grinned, giving Robyn’s shoulder a gentle massage. “She is my number one fan but my sisters had some requests for chocolate.” Taron replied with a smile. “And I know Robyn is partial to the nerds.”
“And there is a general love for turtles all around.” Richard added.
“Wow Robyn, I don’t think I have ever seen you back down from a verbal disagreement before. Bravo Taron!” She smirked. “You have tamed her.”
Taron placed his other hand on Robyn’s shoulder when he felt her move forward some more knowing well she was going to reply. “I wouldn’t say tamed at all. She still has the most perfect fiery side but we need it for New York, right cariad?” He placed a quick kiss on her cheek. “So how much do we owe you?”
Still smiling, Maggie bagged up their purchases and handed the bag to Taron. “Well you have enough to keep you all going for a while.” She looked to Robyn. “I love him.” She simply said. “And he is a perfect match for you.” Maggie’s tone changed, her eyes turning sad. “Next time, I guess we can catch up.”
Taron felt the slump in Robyn’s body under his hands and could see the same sadness in her face that was in Maggie’s eyes. “Why don’t you two catch up later on?” He suggested, knowing how good a friend Maggie was to Robyn when she had lived in Clearwater. “It will give you a chance to chat.”
“Thanks for the offer Taron, but I have this family thing this evening that I can’t get out of. It was just a quick catch up here at the tills but don’t worry, I will be coming to visit cwtch and sit in the corner of Robyn’s couch with her.” She teased, her eyes directly on Taron. “He will be moved to the bedroom.”
Chuckling echoed through the store when there was a loud sigh and scoff from Taron and Richard gave his friend a light punch as his cheeks reddened, his grin growing when Robyn turned around did the same thing to his other arm after she heard his loud sigh. “Whipped.” Richard said through a cough, laughing hard as Taron went for him but Robyn stepped between them, her hands on his chest to keep him a step or two from Richard. “Like I said.” The Scotsman smirked.
“Why you…”
“Maggie and I will catch up another time.” She placed her hand on Taron’s shoulder changing the conversation, turning to Maggie, stopping Taron from going for his friend. “But thank you for offering. I see a very long video call in our future pretty soon.”
“Very long.” Maggie agreed. “Now, take your candy and go enjoy the rest of your holiday together. Even though it was brief, it was lovely to see all of you.” She walked around the tills to hug Robyn once last time. “Cute, gorgeous and my god, you have him wrapped around your finger already.”
The group said one final goodbye and the trio left the store, all of them sighing with relief as they stepped out into the heat of the morning. Robyn didn’t know what to expect when she walked into the 7/11, but she was surprised by the tears that fell from her eyes as she left, the heels of her hands digging into her eyes.
“Cariad…” Taron had an overwhelming sense of emotion as he walked out of the store but Robyn’s reaction had him holding her tight against him, whispering into her hair. “We are all ok. The three of us. We walked in and out as we knew we would.”
Robyn nodded into his chest, her arms wrapped around his back, her face smiling as she felt Richard join their hug so she was squished between them. “Sorry… Being a girl.”
“No, not at all.” Taron soothed. “And I have told you before, you do not have to apologise for being a girl as you call it and that wasn’t just a normal trip to a shop. That was a huge emotional experience for the three of us.”
“Definitely was.” Richard agreed. “Not easy to go back to the place where so much happened, where shit things happened and there are going to be raw emotions again for all of us but all three walked out and walked out with turtles.”
They broke their hug and Robyn thanked Taron for the tissue he fished from her bag for her, wiping her eyes. “It was ok inside just coming out together, it’s a lot. It means a lot.”
“It heals a lot of wounds.” Taron added.
“So many.” Robyn agreed.
“You know what else heals wounds?” He asked, his arm slipping around her shoulders. “Pancakes.” He hoped his words would made her laugh and he smiled when she did. “I think we should go and get some breakfast, together.”
“I am so on board with the plan.” Richard agreed
“You don’t have to drive back?” Robyn asked.
“Not yet. Not until this evening. I am not due back to set until tomorrow afternoon so no rush back. Plus do you think I am going to miss a chance for pancakes?”
“Then I would love to have breakfast together.” She agreed.
With Richard driving, they headed back towards the beach, picking a café right on the sand. They took a table under an umbrella, out of the morning sun, the ocean visible as they sat and read the breakfast menu.
“I can’t believe you drove the whole way up Richard.” Robyn said setting her menu down.
“Of course I did.” He put the juice menu down in front of him. “Going back to the 7/11 was for me too and knowing I could go in with you and Taron, definitely made it easier.” Reaching for Robyn’s hand, he gave it a squeeze. “We spent a long time chatting together as we sat on the floor, getting to know each other and that was what kept me from panicking and you are my friend Robyn, one of my best friends and it wasn’t that long a drive. Plus it’s nice to actually get to see Clearwater.” He turned to look towards the ocean. “It really is a beautiful place.”
“I do love it here.” Robyn followed his eyes to the blue water. “And we have made so many new memories.” She looked to Taron who sat back in his chair, his hair blowing a little in the breeze, his face happy. “So many wonderful memories.” Catching Richard’s eye, she smiled. “I would never have met you and Taron if it wasn’t for that day in the 7/11 so even though the twelve hours were twelve hours of hell, it was worth it to know both of you, to have your friendship and love. It’s a chapter closed from today and I won’t be looking back.”
“Hear hear!” Taron grinned lifting his empty coffee cup into the air. His words had them all laughing, tipping their cups off each other. “So breakfast.” He encouraged, picking up his menu to have a read through the options.
Their choices ordered, the three took the time to sit and talk, to catch up and after breakfast, Robyn suggested they head back to the hotel for a swim and relax before Richard had to drive back to Miami.
“But I am not a guest.” Richard questioned as they sat in the car heading to the hotel. “I don’t think I will be allowed in.”
“Meh.” Robyn replied.
“Meh? Really? Robyn… I don’t even have some swim trunks with me.”
“You can borrow some of Taron’s.”
“Robyn…” He looked at her in the rear-view mirror, seeing her raised eye brow. “A swim would be nice though.”
“A relax on the sunbeds.” Taron added. “Would be even nicer before going back to work.”
“It really would.” Richard glanced to his friend in the front seat. “So where is your hotel?”
After they all changed in the hotel room, Richard in a pair of Taron’s swim shorts, they made their way towards the pool, picking three loungers with an umbrella for some shade.
“This place is beautiful and that pool looks incredibly inviting.” Richard placed his t-shirt on the end of his lounger. “Do you mind if I go right in?”
“Not at all.” Taron grinned. “Go, cool off.” Richard was walking away before Taron had finished speaking and he looked to Robyn who was turned towards the pool. “Go cariad. I know you want to.”
“Taron…” She pulled him into her and smiled into his kiss. “I love you.”
“I love you more. Go. I am going to just lay here. I have had enough excitement for one day and let’s not tempt faith with a swim.” He sighed into another kiss and as Robyn walked away from him, he sat on the lounger and kicked his feet up. He grinned as he watched his two friends swim side by side in the pool. It was the first time since he woke that morning that his heart had finally settled back to its normal beat. He had no idea how the morning was going to go. Petrified sitting in the taxi on the way to the 7/11, he didn’t think he was going to be able to step into the store but comforted as always by Robyn’s touch, she had him wrapped up tight against her and that was what helped him through the place he had feared the most and realised that the horrible experience had found him someone he loved and loved him back. He chuckled as Robyn and Richard raced each other in the water, shaking his head as they started a childish splash game. Closing his eyes and laying his head back, he inhaled deeply, finding a comfortable position on the lounger. There were still three days left in the sun before they got to explore New York and then head back to Aberystwyth to see his family, and while he was so excited to see him family, nerves were settling a little about New York. A busy city with many people, he knew he could blend in but there was always a bigger risk of being seen. Putting it to the back of his mind, he covered his yawn with his hand. Clearwater had been wonderful and he planned to enjoy every last minute of it.
I Don't Want To Rember •Kingsman Merlin•
Tumblr media
Word count: 1157
Type: Angsty fluff
Warning: Mentions of Death and grieving
Paring: Merlin × Oc (description is kept limited name can easily be changed when reading)
Summary: Maggie can't process her feelings about Merlin coming back to her
Tumblr media
Maggie was sat at the kitchen table again, it was nearly 3 am and her head was hung over a cup of coffee.
"Mag?" She looked up to see Merlin coming down the stairs of their house.
"Hey babe, I didn't mean to wake you," she smiled.
"You didn't, I woke up naturally, and realised you weren't next to me," he said.
"I just had a nightmare, don't worry about it,"
"What about?" Merlin asked sitting across from her.
"You know what it was about," she said with a heavy sigh.
"I'm alive darling," he reached for her hand but Maggie retracted her hand setting it in her lap.
"Sorry, I'm still shaking it off," she mumbled.
"I love you," he said
"Love you too,"
"Go back to bed," she said "I'll be up in a minute" she assured
Maggie never came back to bed, Merlin found her the next day on the couch asleep.
"I...I just don't know Harry, it feels like she's pulling away from me," Merlin said to Harry as they ate in his office.
"It was traumatic for her too, she watched you die, she grieved you, then she helped get you back and she helped Ginger with your surgery, she's probably still processing," Harry assured him.
"Why won't she talk to me about it?" Merlin asked.
"She doesn't talk about her feelings and she probably feels as though she shouldn't complain because you're the one who came back to life," he said.
"You make more sense than you should," Merlin said.
"I read a lot of romance books," Harry shrugged.
"You read spy novels," Merlin argued.
"I change the dust covers to spy novels," Harry said amused Merlin shook his head with a chuckle leaving to his own office.
He hadn't seen Maggie all day, she said she was too busy working vitals on Roxy and Eggsy's blood from their last mission, an undercover that went wrong and ended in both of them getting injected with a mix of poisons that they had to scramble to get an antidote to.
Maggie had been frantic figuring out the antidote as Eggsy sat holding a puke bucket as he threw up blood, Roxy held out bearly any better but she had gotten to the all-acting poison negator, all it did was slow the poison down.
But Merlin could see the file, she'd ran their blood and done every test she could on both their most recent blood samples and the ones taken when they were injected.
"She's probably working on a better and quicker antidote than what we had," Merlin mumbled. "Yeah, that's all she's doing,"
Maggie came home later than Merlin. "Hey, you hungry?" Merlin smiled.
"Not really, darling I've been working on a proper antidote for months, seriously months and nothing is working," she complained.
"Literally nothing! I can't even figure out what the poisons in that mix were, if I could do that, I could work out a mix of the antidotes for each of those poisons," she groaned as she collapsed on the couch.
"You'll figure it out my love, you always do," Merlin said kissing her cheek, Maggie smiled looking over her notes.
"Thank you, love"
"Put the notes down, they'll be there tomorrow," Merlin said later in the night Maggie sighed rubbing her eyes.
"You're right, I've got a couple theories to try in the lab tomorrow," she said placing the book down.
"Come on, to bed we go," he said holding onto her hand pulling her up off the couch.
"I love you," Maggie smiled kissing him, Merlin kissed back crowding her against the door.
He trailed his kisses down her neck, Maggie pushed away. "I. . .I can't I'm sorry," she said.
"What? What is your problem? Are you afraid to look at my scars? Disgusted? Do you think you're too good for me now? That I'm damaged goods now? Huh!" Merlin shouted.
"No! Of course not!" Maggie said quickly.
"Then look at me like I'm a person again!"
"I can't! Okay? I just can't! It's too much all I see is the view from your glasses as you exploded! How your voice just stopped! The blood on your glasses! And I had Ginger telling me we needed to continue the mission and help Harry and Eggsy! But I couldn't and then weeks later we found you and oh my god the state you were in.
I collapsed into Tequila, Then. . .Then Ginger needed help during the surgery and you were flatling and the machines were going off and Ginger was fanatically trying to get you breathing again and I. . .Froze until Harry came in to calm me down, tell me it wasn't you, it was any other agent I've performed surgery on, we had to cover your face, I could barely even function as a medic, never mind as your wife.
I sat on the floor of my surgery room just thinking, thinking, what if you died, what if you flatlined and I froze again with no one to help, what if you got better and went back into the field and you got hurt again and I couldn't do anything and every time I see those scars, It's all I think about, I can only see you nearly dead on my table, I love you but I'm scared!" She cried sat on the edge of their bed with her head in her hands.
"And I'm so selfish because I can't imagine what you're going through if I'm like this, I can't imagine what your head is like and I-I don't know how to talk about it because you don't like to talk about your emotions and I'm fine with that! Because it's always small things like Eggsy pissing you off, even when you were grieving Harry we didn't talk about it much I could deal with them, I know those emotions, I've felt them but how do I deal with this,"
Merlin knelt in front of her. "Maggie, look at me," he said gently.
"Don't act like I'm a child Hamish" She groaned.
"I'm not but I need you to look at me" he said.
Maggie rested her chin on her hands looking at him, he took her hand. "Trust me," he said gently, he moved her hand under his shirt placing it over his heart. "You can feel that right?" She nodded "I'm alive and I'm healthy and that's because of you and your amazing work, you keep each and every single Kingsman healthy and alive and I love you for that," he leaned up kissing her.
"How about this, we go to sleep, if you wake up with a nightmare, you wake me up as well and we work through it together, you're not selfish, this hurts you as much as me, I didn't suffer alone and you won't either,"
Maggie smiled kissing him "Thank you," she said gently.
They settled into bed, Maggie laid against Merlin's chest listening to his heart and it was the first time in months she'd slept soundly.
TARON EGERTON MASTERLIST
————————————
When you met Jimmy you never thought you’ll be with someone like him, he was the opposite of what you see on a guy, he was likes to show off everything he has, he always had that smirk on his face every time you always look at him, but somehow you end up falling for his charms, you were there the day he was arrested, you visited him every time you could. That night he asked to see you, you rushed to the place and when you finally saw his face you knew something was off, Jimmy pulled you in his arms.
-Hey- you said -Are you ok? What’s going on?
-I… uh Beaumont offered me a deal- you couldn’t help but chuckled
-You can’t thrust him, he offered you a deal and look where are you now- he nodded
-This time he wasn’t alone, he came with some lady from FBI- you were confused -they want me to go to a facility on Springfield and make some psycho talk and they let me walk free…- he wait for your answer but you couldn’t say something -I know I shouldn’t thrust Beaumont, but if I succeed they let me walk free, all the charges would be erased and we can start over again, we could have a nice house, have a dog or a cat, we can maybe have a kid or two…- you just look at him- babe please say something…
-Is it dangerous?- he looks away -Jimmy tell me the truth, is it dangerous?
-yes- he said -it could be dangerous- you look away -but what am I supposed to do? If I stay here and complete the sentence what are the chances that I can have a normal job? That dreamed house and family happen? and…
-And what?
-And I have to give justice to all those little girls, he killed them and they deserved some justice- he said with some tears in his eyes, you took his hands and sighed.
-Just promise me you’ll be careful- he nodded.
You like to say that you barely remember those days but he continues to work for the police, but days like this one you could swear that nothing happened, like you got a normal apple pie life for all those years. You look at Jimmy as he trains your son’s team. He offered to be the coach of the football team so that he can spend more time with his kid. You like to watch the training, every now and then you notice how Jimmy looks at you and wink at you. When they are finally done you walk to them.
-There are my pretty ladies- Jimmy said, and he kneels to your 2 year old daughter -do you have fun with your momma?- your daughter nods.
-momma, did you see how fast I ran- your son asked, making you smile.
-I did, champ, you’re the best one- you said.
-That’s because he has the best coach- Jimmy said with a smirk.
-Oh really, you never teach me how to play football.
-You never asked me to do it- he answered -I can teach you, darling.
-Ok let's do this- you said with a smile and your kids celebrated.
He teaches you the basics, the rules, how to catch the ball, how to throw it back, and after that you spend most of the time running away from him, he always catches you but sometimes you are faster than him, then your kids come along and play with you. It was until you threw yourself on the grass and your kids fell above you when you stopped.
-You’re done babe?- Jimmy asked you, you nod and you extend your arms.
-I'm tired- you said, he rolled his eyes but he carried you to the car, when he put you down in your seat he made sure to put your seatbelt on and you couldn’t help but smile.
-What? I don’t want to make sure that my lovely and tired wife is secure in the car- he said, you gave him a quick kiss, when he finally got into the driver seat you noticed that he was watching your kids in the mirror, you took his hand.
-You ok?- he nod.
-Sometimes I feel that this is just a dream and I’m going to wake up in that prison…
-Hey, look at me- you said as you took his cheek -this is real, you kept your promise all those years ago, and i hope you keep it when you got a call again- he nodded as he kissed your hand.
-God, what have I done to have you?
-Asked for my number in the most weird way- you said making him laugh -but you know I love you, right?- he nods.
-And I love you too, Mrs. Keene.
WASTELAND, BABY! - HOZIER WRITING CHALLENGE MASTERLIST
--------------------
I met Eggsy long before his life with the Kingsman started.
He had been this bubbly, sarcastic, and all-around-loving guy. It didn't take long for him to win me over. He was charming and sweet. I fell far faster than I cared to admit.
I was happier with him than I had been with anyone else. It was silly, almost delusional, but I was getting to the point where I felt like we were going to last forever.
And then, Eggsy found a new job.
He hid it from me at first, but after seeing how suspicious that looked, he dropped the act.
I could still remember vividly sitting across from him at my dining room table as he rambled on and on about what he was doing. The training and the gadgets and the assholes he had met through it all. He told me about how his being gone for days was because he was going on missions for a secret organization that I wasn't meant to know about.
I didn't believe him at first.
That's when he showed me some of the gadgets he had. He showed me some of the suits that they had given him. I got to know the Kingsman label.
I asked him if he was going to get in trouble for telling me all of this.
He kissed me and told me that he didn't care if he did. He'd rather that than lose me. Which did make me feel very special.
I accepted every part of it.
The long trips away, the small injuries that he came home with, the lack of a steady schedule. And the dog. The dog was a nice bonus to the job.
I never wanted to question his work. And I didn't.
I never had a lot of problems with the work. I got worried when he showed up hurt, but that was kind of it.
After a while though, the stories started to get to me. I wasn't upset hearing them or jealous or anything like that, but the more and more I heard about those stories, the more I found this sickening feeling in my stomach. Like I was... disappointing him... somehow.
I heard all these stories about these amazing places and the cool stuff that he did, and I just felt... boring. How was I supposed to compare to stuff like that?
I always ignored it. Well, I tried.
In all honesty, I never thought that Eggsy noticed it.
We all think that we're better at hiding things than we actually are.
I was in the middle of putting my clothes away, listening to him go on and on about the last mission he was on. I nodded along, chuckling where it felt appropriate.
"You alright?"
I furrowed my eyebrows as I turned to him. "What are you talking about?"
"You just seem... out of it."
"What," I forced a scoff. "Eggsy, I'm fine."
"(Y/n), we've been together for a while, I can tell when you're not."
I took a deep breath as I leaned against the dresser. "I... Do I bore you?"
"Sorry?"
"Do I bore you?" I repeated. "Am I boring?"
"No, why would you ask that?"
"You just... You come home from these trips and you have all these stories about what you did and what you saw and who you met and it just... I feel boring compared to that part of your life."
He didn't respond for a moment.
"And I know that it sounds dumb and childish but I... I can't help it, Eggsy. I... I'll get over it. I don't want you to think that I don't care about your work because I do and I admire it. I don't... I don't want to be controlling or anything like that and I'm sorry-"
"Stop," he spoke up, cutting off my rambling. I did, biting at the inside of my cheek.
He walked over to stand opposite me, his back facing the bed. He pulled the sleeve of his jacket up. "See this?"
He pointed at a bracelet on his wrist. It had been a gift I had gotten him. It was small, simple. A braided bracelet with a small charm hanging off of it. It wasn't a super expensive gift, but I didn't have a lot to spend at the time. I was surprised that it had landed as long as it had.
I nodded as I looked at it.
"I wear this during every mission that I go on," he explained as he walked forward. "Do you know why?"
I didn't answer.
"Because all I care about on those missions is getting back to you," he continued. "Through every badass thing I get to do, through all of the suits and gadgets and crap, all I want is to come home to you. Because I love you. A lot. More than I've loved anyone before."
I felt a grin form on my lips. "I love you too."
He reached forward and cupped the sides of my face, smiling back at me. He leaned his forehead against mine for a few moments before kissing me gently. I kissed him back, reaching my hands out to touch his sides. It was loving, gentle, perfect.
During our small moment together, I felt something tickling my leg. I pulled away, looking down to see what it was. Eggsy's forehead pressed against the side of my head as I did. His eyes were still shut.
"What is it," he asked.
I turned to look at him again. "Your dog is licking my leg."
"What?" his eyes opened as he leaned back and looked down. "For fuck's sake-"
"It's alright," I chuckled.
"Ruined our moment."
"Nooo," I shook my head before leaning down to pick up the pug. "Were you getting a little jealous?"
The pug licked my hand as I went to pet him. I laughed quietly.
"Just wants a little attention," I said, looking at Eggsy again.
"So do I," he replied.
"The pug's cuter."
He scoffed at me. "Excuse me?"
I walked into the main room, sitting with the dog in my lap. Eggsy followed me out. He sat next to me on the couch, pulling me into his side. He kissed my head.
"I love you," he muttered against my hair.
"I love you too," I replied.
That was the moment that I started to truly believe that this life was far more perfect than whatever life with the Kingsman offered.
