Pairings: Sully! Daughter Reader x Tarsem, Sully! Daughter x Sully! Family platonic!

Summary: In which your family discover that you are in a relationship and someone, in particular, doesn't like it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
“Draw it back and keep your shoulders up, pointed towards the sky.” Your mother whispers gently while observing your stance. You stood with exact precision, as she and your father had raised you to be. You don’t hesitate to send the arrow flying from your grip and towards the animal already moving quickly knowing the accuracy of your own shot. Neytiri admires for a second, a soft smile growing on her face as you send the creature back to Eywa with a prayer. You look back at her with a gentle roll of your eyes and sitting up gently wiping the blood from your hands onto your stomach.
“Mama, I still need your help skinning it that’s so gross.” You screw your face up and she giggles before moving towards you a skip in her step.
The people part as you land your ikran on High Camp and step off. You brush the braids from your face and part with your Mother who moves to set the meat aside. She watches you walk off with a gentle scoff appalled her eldest daughter didn’t even help her begin to put stuff away. “MAMA!” Tuk screeches crawling off from her Father’s arms and running full force into her Mother who grunts and picks her up to spin her around happily.
“Well hello Sexy.” Jake wolf whistles before kissing his wife on the lips and smacking her ass making all of his sons groan from behind him.
“Dad that’s literally disgusting.” Kiri remarks her nose scrunching and Lo’ak agrees with a gagging noise.
“You know what, you all literally came from me and your mother, show some love for love.” He wiggles his shoulders and everyone groans besides Tuk who tilts her head.
“Go and find your sister, she has not finished with her hunting.” Neytiri commands her kids holding up the meat in her hands and they all agree stealing Tuk who eagerly runs down the direction that her sister went towards.
Strutting confidently down and past the tents of the people who live near your head turns from side to side in confusion before a hand reaches out and grabs your wrist spinning you into the arms of your beloved and you giggle happily sighing glad to be within his gaze.
“My love.” Tarsem breathes out reaching out to press his hand against your cheek and you nuzzle into it staring up into his eyes. He takes a step back to examine your entire body noticing the blood on your stomach and the open cut on your foot and he tuts. He grabs the small amount of Sky Walker medicine from his side and squirts it onto the foot making you hiss loudly.
“I am fine Ma Tarsem, no need to freet. I am only in need for a kiss.” You purse your lips at him and he wastes no time in leaning up and kissing you softly, pressing you against the tent and gently grabbing your waist. Due to being occupied with the love of your life, you fail to notice the approach of your siblings.
“Y/N! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?” Tuk screeches and points at you both making you instantly pull away and look at them seeing an extremely fast approaching Lo’ak and Neteyam, both of which have the same look of rage on their faces.
Netetyam yanks you back while Lo’ak pulls his thumb and tucks it under his others forming a fist and punching Tarsem making them both yell out, Lo’ak being the loudest.
—--------------------------------------------------
“What the fuck were you thinking!?” Neytiri screams at her sons pacing backwards and forwards in front of all of her kids, besides Tuk who is gently crying in your Fathers arms. His eyes never leave your face and you are unable to read his expression. Your mother sighs seeing the same thing as you do before leaning back.
“Neteyam, Lo’ak apologize to Tarsem, and Lo’ak thank him for healing your knuckles.”
“Even though he should’ve let them be in pain forever.” You mumble under your breath and your Mothers head snaps to yours rage very evident in her eyes.
“Y/N te Suli Neytiri‘ite, I suggest you shut that mouth right now young lady. Now scram.” She hisses at your brothers who tuck their tails between their legs and run out grabbing Tuk to join Kiri who is eavesdropping outside.
“Have you mated with this boy?” Your father spits out and looks at you both instantly making you blush.
“NO DAD!” You yelp out staring at him wide eyed and Tarsem coughs making Jake look at him hostile.
“Something to say boy?”
“FATHER!”
“Yes Sir, if I may.” Tarsem clears his throat before grabbing your hand ignoring the glare you are giving the side of his face. Neytiri pauses for a second her rage bubbling down while she notices something. The way you still wear the love for him in your eyes even while you’re angry. Your body relying heavily on his while trying to keep your distance. She is hit with a sense of deja vu.
“I love your daughter like no other. I know that I come from a family that isn’t particularly high considering this clan but I truly believe I can make her happy and treat her just as she needs to be. She is my mate, chosen from Eywa herself and whether or not you accept that, I will be by her side until the day she sends me away.” Tarsem finishes and you stare at him in bewilderment and love. Your Father notices and storms out heading quickly in another direction.
“I will be back.” You stand and follow after him quickly seeing him head off more deeper into the woods. He sees a stream and heads over flopping down with a huff. You quickly follow sitting next to him with a soft sigh.
“What do you want me to say baby girl?” He says after a few moments in silence, continuing to stare at the fish in the stream. You sigh and rest your head on his tense shoulder.
“I don’t want you mad at me for picking a boy who is lower in the clan.” You say quietly pulling your knees to your chest and laying your head on your knees with your ears pressed to your head. Jake’s head snaps towards you and he sighs pulling you into his arms and sitting you in a rocking position tucking your head into his chest.
“Baby girl, I will never disrespect who you love. A man, a woman anyone. Just hopefully not a Sky Walker.” You snort at that and shake your head.
“Then why are you so mad?” You ask and he sighs kissing your head.
“My baby girl is growing up and getting out into the world. I always knew once your grandmother stepped down as Tsahik, you would become the new one and you would eventually find a mate worthy of becoming Olo’eyektan with you, but now that’s happening a lot sooner and it just makes me sad, because you aren’t the little girl that would never leave me the fuck alone.” He has you crying and you hug him tightly.
“Daddy please don’t think that. I’m still 18! I have a few more years to worry about that.” You sniffle and he nods before sighing and pulling you up.
“I love you baby girl.” He grips you tightly in his arms and you smile.
“I love you too Dad.”
“Now let’s go meet this boy that’s so in love with you.” He teases you making you punch him and he winces walking back rubbing his arm and poking you the whole time back

The beauty of Pandora never ceases to amaze Y/n. The forest is surrounded with foliage, beautiful fauna and trees as high as the eyes could see. It was simply breathtaking. It didn’t matter how familiar she became with the environment around her, new discoveries seemed to amaze her every day. The simple yet striking beauty, that is her home planet. Eywa'eveng.
Y/n regulates her breathing, perched on a tree branch high above the ground. Over the years she had mastered her skills to perfection, she could walk the entire forest without a single sound. Something she was quite proud of as many admired her for it.
Y/n peers down below her, her bow at the ready. The perfectly hand crafted bow seemed weightless under her hold as she grips it tightly. Her eyes scan her target, who was oblivious to her presence.  She carefully pulls back to reach for an arrow, aligning it against her bow with ease. She had been following a lone yerik for a while now. She watches it bend its long neck to munch on a plant near him.
Y/n pulls her arrow back, her eyes zoning in on its head. A clean headshot, sure to relieve the creature from pain. Taking a sharp intake of breath Y/n whispers a silent prayer under her breath.
‘Eywa rutxe’ srung ‘sno’ (Eywa, please guide me) (A/N: Also, the translation may not be accurate. Please ignore that!)
In a flash Y/n lets go of her arrow, striking the yerik with deadly force knocking in down immediately. Y/n lets out the breath she was holding in, jumping down the greenery below. Her feet land with a soundless thump, her feet carrying her towards the moaning yerik.
Y/n peers down at the animal, crouching down beside it. Her hands caressed its body reassuringly as it laid beneath her, letting out soft whimpers of pain. Thankfully Y/n’s precision was on point, her arrow landing exactly where the nociceptors were. The pain receptors of the brain. After her Tsahik training Y/n made it her mission to learn more, her intellect and drive was enough to push herself through tedious teachings proving to be effective in the long run.
“Shhh, Shhhh little one” Y/n whispers, taking out her knife from its sheath. The animal whimpers, seeming to accept its fate.
“Oel ngati kameie, ma tsmukan, ulte ngaru seiyi irayo” Y/n whispered, inserting her knife into the yerik sliencing it. She carefully pulls out her arrow in the process, her lips formed in a saddened frown. (I See you, Brother, and thank you)
“Ngari hu Eywa salew tirea, tokx 'ì'awn slu Na'viyä hapxì” (Your spirit goes with Eywa, your body stays behind to become part of the People)
Finishing off with the prayer her nimble fingers closes the creature's eyes, letting out a long sigh. Y/n's ears perk up to the sound of footsteps, the  pattern of the steps proving who it  was that approached her.
“Another clean kill, I must say you never cease to surprise me numeyu” (Student) Tarsem teases, walking towards the large catch of the day. A proud smile adorned his lips as he glanced down at Y/n. His student who seemed to grow up too fast for his liking. It seemed like just the other day when Y/n would latch onto his leg begging to join him on his hunts with her watery pleading eyes.
Now, Y/n was an established warrior. She completed her Iknimaya a while ago with flying colors gaining admiration and respect amongst the clan. She had grown as a warrior and as a woman. Her rights were done long ago  and she grew to become a beautiful Na’vi. It didn't go unnoticed how many suitable men who ogled her, wanting to court her.
Her locks were long and always braided neatly, adorned with beautiful beads and pearls. Her hips grew wider as did her height, though she was still shorter than Tarsem and many other men. It didn't stop her fierce personality. Her e/c eyes, unique and eye-catching. Y/n was the epitome of beauty, requests to court her being asked regularly. But Y/n never reciprocated any gestures, her mission to become the best warrior was far too important. She had stated loud and clear that she had no intention of finding a mate, even at the ripe age of 20.
Tarsem’s mom would always scold her, claiming it was the perfect time to find a mate and start a family. But even with all her accomplishments, Y/n still felt unfulfilled. She felt like she didn't quite accomplish her goal, and she wouldn't let anything stop her from reaching that feeling of fulfillment.
“Numeyu? Really?” Y/n chuckles, wiping her arrowhead while she stands up. She hated how short she was compared to the Tarsem who still towered over her.
“Oh, sorry taronyutsyìp. I keep forgetting how grown up you are!” (Little hunter) Tarsem tosses back, loving the way Y/n’s little nose twitches at the nickname. He places his arm over her head teasingly, displaying how tall he is compared to her. Y/n huffs out in annoyance.
“Yea? Well, at leas-”
“Tarsem!”
An urgent voice calls out, running towards the duo. Kay’m, Tarsem’s friend and fellow warrior, bursts through the bushes. Y/n bit her lip from bursting out in laughter. He looked to be in disarray, leaves caught in between his locks making him look silly.
“Yes? What's the matter?” Tarsem asks, taking a step away  from Y/n. He seemed to notice the look of mild worry over his friend's features, causing his tail to twitch in attentiveness.
“The Olo’eyktan wishes to speak to you” He gasps out, trying to regain control over his breathing. Tarsem furrows his eyebrows but nods nonetheless.
“He wanted to speak to Y/n as well”
Y/n’s ears perk up, her eyes looking towards  Kay’m in question. Sure, Y/n was very close to the Sully’s. She grew to spend most of her free time with Kiri and Tuk, who she loved dearly. The little girl always tried following Y/n around in pure awe. Though Lo’ak had grown up a lot over the years, Y/n still found herself covering up for him, trying her best to keep him out of trouble when his brother couldn't. Speaking of Neteyam-
“He didn't say why. But it's urgent. I'll take care of this, please go right away” Kay’m urges, his tone serious. Y/n glances down at her kill, letting out a sigh of defeat.
“Lets go”
~~~~~~~~~
Y/n follows Tarsem’s lead towards the Olo’eyktan tent, nodding to the Na’vi who smile at her presence. Y/n loved the village, but she loved the forest more. The only time she spends her free time in the village would be when she would come to restock her arrows, hang around her guardians and Mo’at or to pick up Kiri and Tuk to accompany her in exploring.
“What are you doing here?” a sharp voice calls, stopping Y/n mid step. Thankfully she stopped when she did , or else would have collided against Tarsem who also froze at the cold tone. Y/n turns her head, her ears folding upon taking in the figure standing a few feet away from her.
He stood tall, much taller than her. His braided locks fell past his shoulder, his visor still placed neatly fastened on his forehead. The gear he wore proved that he was flying his Ikran prior to now. His posture was stiff, his broad veiny muscles folded against one another as he eyed Y/n. She watches nervously as his piercing unwavering gaze trails from her face all the way down to her toes. It made her feel warm, and cold at the same time. Warm because she didn't understand the fuzzy feeling she felt whenever he stared at her. Cold because she knew what his stare always meant, hatred.
The only other warrior that could be considered a rival to her feats of accomplishment. The only other warrior that despised the very soil she walked upon.
Neteyam.
“The Olo’eyktan called for both of us” Tarsem informs, his jaws slightly clenched.
He looks back at Y/n who snaps from her trance. He nods forward  indicating for her to follow, before stepping into the tent. Y/n hurries to follow only to be intercepted by Neteyam. He stepped near her, his gaze shooting straight down her soul. Y/n gulps, her palms growing sweaty.
“H-Hi” she stutters out, in a meek attempt to erase the awkward atmosphere. Neteyam snorts at her words, throwing one last glare her way before disappearing inside the tent.
Y/n huffs out before stepping inside as well. The first thing she notices is how tense everyone looked. Jake stood tall, his eyes holding worry. Neytiri paced around, her fear wafting off her in waves.
“Yes Sir, I’m quite familiar with that area” Tarsem replies snapping Y/n from her thoughts. She takes a step beside her former teacher, her head held high. She had to force herself to look straight, to avoid the harsh stare Neteyam sent her way from his spot across the tent.
“Yes, That's why I've called you two. We don't know where she could be and I don't want to alert the clan by sending a search party….yet” Jake responded calmly. Y/n’s eyes widen, she glances around frantically.  She knew Kiri had lessons with Mo’at, and Lo’ak was always busy during this time hanging out with Spider. That only left one Na’vi unaccounted for.
“Where is Tuk?”
Neteyam curses under his breath, his scoff not going unnoticed. “Can't you hear? She's been missing since the morning.” He relays, ignoring how Neytiri hisses at his tone. Y/n frowns, turning her gaze to Tarsem. She must have been so deep in her thoughts that she missed the part where Jake had debriefed  them on what the situation was.
“We’ll look for her, don't you worry about it Sir” Tarsem declares, ignoring the staring contest Neteyam was having with Y/n.
Neteyam turns to his father after hearing Tarsem’s words. He held back the urge to raise his voice.
“I’ll help too. You won’t be needing her help, Tarsem and I can take care of it ourselves” Neteyam pipes up, stepping forward.
He was deeply worried for his sister, he got the call from his father while he was out on his solo hunt. He immediately rushed home in order to find her, he just didn't see why Y/n had to be included. His rival who he despised. He would do anything in his power not to ask for her aid. He didn’t want to be indebted to her in any way.
“Neteyam” Neytiri calls warningly, her tone of embarrassment for her son's behavior.
“Sorry mother, it's just that I’m sure we can handle it. Tarsem will be on ground, and I can be in the air. If we have both terrains covered we’ll be able to find her before the sun sets” Neteyam explains, throwing an apologetic smile towards his mother for his odd  behavior. Jake looks to be contemplating the idea when Y/n steps forward, in front of Tarsem.
“Sir!”
Y/n felt her resolve break. She cared a lot for Tuk, and not to mention it was her duty to ensure the safety of her people. Especially the children of Toruk Makto. She felt honored to be considered to search for her, but she wouldn't stand back and let Neteyam take that away from her. Memories of the many times Neteyam tried to keep her out of hunts and excursions rack her brain. She was never one to fight back, always keeping her head low and quietly  following her duties blindly. But now, today, she had enough.
“With all due respect I know the forest like the back of my hand. I know the forest because I actively explore it. While I do think scouting from the air would be ok-” Neteyam tenses up, noticing how she threw a slight jab at him “-it’s nothing compared to someone who knows the land. I can find her, I can track her down. if you'll let me” Y/n says sternly. She surprised herself from how she kept her voice firm, unweaving. Jake nods in understanding.
“So be it, Thank you for your service Y/n”
Y/n smiles wide, looking up at Tarsem who smiles endearingly. She didn’t notice how Neteyam clenched his teeth, or how his eyes burned with fury.
“Let's get going Nìhona” (Sweet Thing)
~~~~~~~~~
To say Neteyam was unhappy with the decision was an understatement. The moment Tarsem was far enough from the duo, Neteyam grabs Y/n forcibly by her waist, pulling her along him to a stop.
Tumblr media
“What the hell was that?” he spat harshly, his grip tight. Y/n bites back a wince, her eyes on him.
“What do you mean?”
“That stunt you pulled in there. Does it please you to taunt me in  front of my parents?” Neteyam hissed angrily. Y/n furrows her eyebrows. That was not what she had intended. She just didn't want to lose the opportunity to find Tuk, someone dear to her.
“Netey-”
“Dont say my name!” Neteyam growls. It was as if her even mentioning his name seemed to burn him in some type of way.
“Don’t act like you're familiar with me” he hisses. Y/n’s feels her throat close up. She didn’t know why he hated her so much, why he acted as though her presence was a punishment from Eywa.
She would be lying if she said the rivalry between them didn’t push her to where she was today. They always butted heads growing up, always fighting each other to do their best. While Y/n rarely retaliated, Neteyam was all bark. The prince of the clan who was widely admired had a dark side. A dark side he let out only in her presence. As if it was exclusively reserved for her. Despite all that, Y/n couldn’t find it in her heart to hate him like how he openly hated her.
“Do that again and I won’t hesitate. I won’t hesitate to put you back in your place” Neteyam whispered harshly. Neteyam glances at Tarsem. Noticing how Tarsem’s steps slow down, as if noticing the lack of Y/n’s presence behind him.
“I didn’t mean it like that, I swear” Y/n tried one more time. She admired him, watched in awe when he caught his first adult Talioang at the age of 15 with one clear shot. How he held himself, how amazing he was. She wanted his approval, in a way that's what started her quest for perfection in the first place. But Neteyam never seems to acknowledge her accomplishments. He never used her name, always regarding her as she or her. As if saying her name would leave a bitter taste in his mouth. He acted as though he didn't care that she was older than him.
“Oh please, you don’t think I don’t notice how hard you try to best me? How hard you try to be better?” Neteyam says through clenched teeth. His ears perk up to the sound of Tarsem fully stopping. In a blink of an eye Neteyam lets go of her wrist, backing away.
Y/n pulled her hand back to her, holding it against her chest as it stung.
“Y/n! Hurry up!!” Tarsem calls, confusion written over his features.
Neteyam turns to leave before looking at her once more. “Stay out of my way. I mean it”
He quickly walks off, presumably to call his Ikran. Y/n ignores the pang in her heart as she jogs up to her best friend. Tarsem’s eyes are trained to where Neteyam disappeared too.
“Did he say something?” He asks quietly. Not noticing how Y/n hid her wrist behind her. She furiously shakes her head, forcing out a smile. She felt like she wanted to be alone, and focus on the search. She needed space.
“I’m fine! How about we split up? We’ll cover more terrain that way” Y/n suggests, not giving Tarsem time to argue back as she begins to walk away.
~~~~~~~
Groaning under her breath Y/n turns around, having one more place in mind. She checked all the places Tuk accompanied her when they went to explore together. All of which she came up empty handed.
‘Ewya, please make sure she is ok’
A silent prayer leaves her lips as worry weighs her down. She couldn’t find any traces of the young Na’vi which only caused more panic to rise in her. She also didn’t receive any responses from Tarsem or Neteyam. Upon leaving for the search Jake had supplied them with their own coms and earpieces. So they wouldn’t check the same place twice and have contact with one another if they were to split up.
Y/n cursed herself for being so caught up with the interaction with Neteyam. Truth be told she always tried to figure out why he acted the way he did. Y/n was one year older, therefore her age alone demanded respect. Heck, her title as a warrior demanded respect, all of which Neteyam actively avoided.
Y/n begins to worry that she probably missed Tuk, she had been so involved with her own thoughts she wasn’t quite aware of her surroundings. Maybe Neteyam was right? Maybe Jake shouldn't have asked her for help? Just as Y/n walks closer to her favorite tree, filled with her favorite Yovo fruit she hears a whimper.
It was so quiet it almost went unnoticed, but Y/n’s ears automatically reacted to it, standing up in alert. She looked up at the tree, it was tall and big. From the ground it looked as though it could reach for the stars.
“Tuk?!” Y/n calls, her voice echoing throughout the forest. She had her hand ready near her knife should any predator sneak up on her.
Hearing no response back she turns to leave but stops abruptly. Hearing that familiar whimper.
“Y-y/n?” It was quiet. As quiet as a whisper in the wind. But Y/n heard it, loud and clear. She whips around, squinting her eyes. She finally catches sight of the frightened girl, latching onto the tree for her life. She was quite high up, which made sense as to why she didn’t come down. The branches were thick but fragile. One wrong misstep could cause the branch to collapse.
“Tuk!!!” Y/n calls, hauling herself against the tree. She seems to forget about the splinters within the old tree as she works her way towards the shaking girl.Tuk is gasping out in fear, her eyes blown wide. As she stares at Y/n coming her way, she feels hands shake. Unable to hold on.
“Y/n!!!” Tukl calls again, her voice laced with fear.
“I’m almost there!!! J-Just hold on!” Y/n reached the branch closest to her, she carefully took tiny steps towards the girl who was within her arms reach.
“Give me your hand Tuk!!-” Y/n urges. Tuk glances at the outstretched hand. She shakes free one hand to reach out. “-Trust me”
As Tuk gains more confidence she stretches out, their fingertips brushing against one another. When all of a sudden, the branch holding them up lets out a crack under their weight.
~~~~~~~
Neteyam lands his Ikran with ease. He swiftly jumps on the grass below, his eyes scanning the dense forest around him. He picks up the sound of footsteps nearby, choosing to follow it after he instructs his Ikran to leave, for now.  Fear was eating him alive at this point. He couldn't find Tuk  anywhere from up above and the sun was already beginning to set.
He angrily swipes at the bushes nearby, feeling terrible guilt settle inside him. He couldn't help but realize it had all been his fault. He should have accompanied Tuk for her excursion when she had begged him earlier on in the day. He was just so caught up on his hunt, he desperately wanted to make his father proud. Over the many accomplishments he overcame. He is still yet to actually accompany his father on actual raid missions. It always left him in a sour mood when Jake enlisted Y/n’s help. Even if it was just as a spotter.
“Neteyam” Tarsem calls, turning around to the sound of his steps. Neteyam glances around him, his tail twitch in annoyance noticing Y/n was nowhere to be seen.
“Any luck?” he asks, noting how Neteyam seems on edge. His silence alone spoke volumes. “Don't worry, we'll find her” he tried to reassure.
Neteyam lets out a huge sigh, his shoulder slumping.
“We should call it in, just in case we need a search party” Neteyam mumbles walking closer to Tarsem. His solemn mood doesn't go unnoticed by Tarsem.
“It's not your fault Neteyam”
Neteyam’s ears twitch. He knew Tarsem was right, but that didn't stop the feelings growing inside. He smiles sheepishly at his mentor turned friend.
“Maybe Y/n found her. I haven't heard anything from her end” Tarsem pipes up, his eyes dancing around. At the mention of her name, Neteyam clenches his teeth. His mood shifted significantly.
“I highly doub-”
“H-hello?” a quiet voice calls from both of their coms.Tarsem stands up straighter, his hand reaching up to press his collar. Neteyam stood still, his heart rate quicking. He could faintly hear her rapid gasps, as if she were in pain. Neteyam couldn't help but feel dread.
“Y/n?! Where are you? What's wrong?!” Tarsem speaks firmly, also noticing her tone and the gasps of air. She sounded to be in pain, and struggling.
“I-I found T-uk, she's o-k” She rasps out.
Neteyam’s feet carry him across the clearing with Tarsem hot on his tail. He had no idea where he was going, where his legs were carrying him. But all he knew is he had to reach her. Her tone alone had set him off, he couldn't help wondering what danger befell her.
“Where are you Y/n! We’re coming” Tarsem says, his heart rate increasing in fear.
 “I-”
~~~~~~~~~
“Shhh, we're ok. You're ok, shhhh” Y/n clutches Tuk closely against her body. The little girl was wrapped up tightly in her embrace, her face tucked away in the crevice of her neck as she sobs quietly.
The moment Tuk lost grip as the branch beneath them broke, Y/n had lunged for the girl. Cradling her against herself to insure she took the majority of the impact as they tumbled to the ground below. The fall had caused a nasty gash along Y/n’s thigh. It bled heavily as her body was also littered with tiny cuts from the branches she crashed against.
Luckily Tuk had nothing major, just a few scratches here and there. Other than that, unharmed. Y/n called it in the moment she was able to catch her breath and insure no broken bones. She had to thank Eywa for evading that causality. That being said Y/n had trouble standing up, still clutching the sobbing girl within her grasp.
“They're coming, they'll be here soon” Y/n tries to say soothingly. She had trouble taking her steps, every step felt like a stab through her body. Her body aching in protest. Y/n’s ears twitch to a sound of flapping, and a screech of an Ikran nearby. Tuk seems to quiet down, recognizing her brother's Ikran right away.
Y/n halts her steps as two Ikrans land before her, screeching wildly. She immediately recognized them as she looked towards the riders who hopped down with ease.
Neteyam is the first to reach them, his eyes searching for Y/n’s. His eyes widen as they scan her beaten up form, the blood that trickles down her leg as she stood in an uncombable way to relieve her injured leg of her weight. He bites his lips furiously, his worry for his sister clouding his vision. He glances at Tuk who smiles softly at him.
“She's ok.” Y/ns whispers out, handing her over into Neteyam’s outstretched hands. He takes her with ease. His eyes wandered to her, his mouth opening and closing as if he had something he wanted to say but was too afraid to speak.
“Y/N!!” Tarsem calls rushing in, he carefully scoops her up peering down at her shocked face. She smiles slightly as he inspects her wounds, hissing as his eyes wander to her thigh. Her blood smeared against him. It looked deep, which further triggered his brother's instincts.
“Shit!! Let's get back!”
~~~~~~
“Y/n, please. Let's go to the Tsahiks tent? You need to have that checked out” Tarsem pleads. Still holding her tightly against him.
Even though Y/n had insisted she could walk just fine, he wouldn't let up. Neteyam, uncharacteristically, had been quite the entire ride back. Not even throwing a glare Y/n’s way that she grew accustomed to. He had whispered a quiet  thanks to their general direction before heading towards his family's hut in a hurry.
“Fine, though I could fix this on my own. I don't want to bother Mo'at '' Y/n reluctantly agrees. Anything to get out of Tarsem's arms. She felt tiny against him, and the weird stares she received from the younger Na’vi only soured her mood. A smile twitches along Tarsem’s lips as he walks quickly towards the hut. As if she had weighed nothing.
Upon arrival he peeks in, his eyes wandering around the empty hut. He quirked an eyebrow in question, looking back at Y/n as if she had the answer to his question. Y/n sighs out, gesturing towards herself. Getting the memo, Tarsem gently sets her down.
Y/n holds onto his bicep as she takes her wobbly legs towards the mat, seating herself as a loud grunt leaves her lips.
“She is probably already at the Olo’eyktan’s tent, checking up on Tuk. I’ll be fine” Y/n says calmly, reaching for a cloth to wipe away the blood. Tarsem physically cringes. Seeing her hurt and bleeding made him question himself. He couldn't help but feel guilty that she got hurt under his watch.
“Tarsem, I'll be fine. Please go and relax. You look tense” Y/n observes, gesturing her hand in a shoo-ing motion. Tarsem chuckles at her attempts, his ears folded down.
“I’ll be right back…I have to tell mother” he informs, causing Y/n to wince.
She didn't want anyone worrying over her. Tarsem’s mom would always fuss over her, treating her as her own. Y/n nods watching him leave the tent. She winces as the cloth grazes at the cut. She gently reached for the basket of tools she was well equipped with after helping Mo’at on many occasions. She searched for a needle and thread, it was a deep cut and it required stitching. While she fumbled through the basket she heard rushed footsteps walk into the tent.
“Tarsem I'm fine, I'll just stitch it up. You go-” To Y/n’s surprise it wasn't Tarsem, but Neteyam. His chest heaved as he looked to have rushed here. Her eyes are solely focused on her thighs, his eyes glancing at the cloth soaked up in her blood staining it crimson.
“Ne- What are you doing here?” Y/n stutters. She didn't think Neteyam would ever approach her out of his own free will. She watches how his strained eyes dance around the tent.
“Mo’at isn't he-”
“I'm not here for her:” Neteyam cuts her off, taking a few steps to loom over her. He couches down to her level, finally looking her in the eye. Y/n felt a lump in her throat from the sheer intensity of his gaze. She didn't know what it meant.
 Sure, before she could easily recognize the hate with his yellow orbs. But now? Now it was an emotion she wasn't familiar with. A deep emotion that swam within his irises.
“Do you…need help?’ he asks, gesturing to her still open wound.
“Wha-? No, I’m fine” she quickly responded, covering up the cut with the bloody cloth. Anything for him not to linger around. Not receiving the message Neteyam’s eyes look back into hers.
“Thank you…for what you did. For finding Tuk '' Neteyam says, his tone forced but holding some sincerity. Y/n smiles, it felt like he acknowledged her. And it felt great.
Neteyam’s eyes glance all over her face, momentarily stopping at her lips that were stretched into a small smile. He quickly shakes his head, standing up at the thoughts he refused to let surface. Y/n jolts at the sudden movement breaking from her trance.
“Y-Your Welco-ome!” she stutters out as he turns to walk out of the tent.. He stops himself, a smile playing along his lips.
“Get yourself fixed Y/n”
And with that, he disappears.
Y/n grins, forgetting the aches and pain. He had said her name. And she couldn't be happier.
He said her name….

Are we the same person?? Cause the way I haven't been able to get Tarsem x Sully!reader to get away from my thoughts anyways you ask and you shall receive 🤭
Why him?
Pairing- Tarsem x Sully!reader
Summary- Jake finds out about your current suitor and he goes into a pit of disparity (hes dramatic as hell)
Tumblr media
.
.
.
.
Tarsem watched you as you whisper something in your sister, Kiri's ear and she laughs as ahe looks at him and his eyes go back to you and your looking back at you, your eyes looking upon him kinda made him nervous as his ears went to the back of his head and his eyes shoot down and he tries remaining his composure.
He had begun courting you two months ago. You two grew up together, learned together, and he had an admiration for you and that admiration soon formed to love. He only wanted you. Anytime he thought life with anyone else from the clan he feels and unsettling sizzling in his lower abdomen. Anytime he thought if you with another mate his heart aches a little. He could only see you.
When you thought of Tarsem you couldn't help but blush. Over the years you've watched him, grew closer to him, and even found yourself falling in live with him. You couldn't help but feel envious of whatever potential mate that Tarsem sees, you felt hurt knowing that one day he will have a wonderful mate, beautiful kids, and a content life and it wouldn't be with you.
But things turned around all those two months ago when he have you his official courting gift. It was an assortment of flowers and fruits that were your favorite flavors or color. He knew gou inside and out and he hoped you liked it. You happily accepted and you would never tell anyone you did a happy dance when you got home.
And the arrangement was only the first of many gifts. He wanted to prove to you and to your family he could provide and most importantly protect their daughter. He hunted the most hexapede, he saw it was your favorite whenever the clan would have it so he had to get it for you. He prepared the meat for you and your family, he saw you and smiled at you and you do the same walking to you. Reaching the meat in his hands out he gives it to you.
"For you and your family." He said and you smiled before wrapping your arms around his neck bringing him into your warm hug. "Thank you 'sem." His ears perk at the nickname you whispered in his ear. You were the only one who called him it he felt special. "I actually got you something too." You say a blush creeping up your cheeks. His eyes widen a he cracks a smile. "I heard that you've been wanting a new necklace and so I made you one." You say pulling one of the best necklaces you have ever made, it was red just like the one he has in now, but with differences only he and you knew and shined just right when the sun hit it.
He smiled and took the necklace replacing his old one immediately.
You each say your sheepish goodbyes as you walk to your kelku.
Opening the makeshift curtain that acted as a door you saw your family sitting down together. Jake was the first to notice the prepared meat in his hands. "You hunted." He asked and the family turned their attention to you.
Looking down at the meat you shake your head no and put it down. "Tarsem hunted it for me, well for us." You say making your way to the family circle. "Oooooo Tarsem." Your siblings giggle together. "Shut up." You say hitting Lo'aks head lightly before sitting down. Jake's eyes widen and his mouth makes and 'o' shape.
"Tarsem hm. He's good yeah?" It sounded more like a question rather a statement as you smiled lightly.
Jake could have sworn a few grey hairs sprouted from his head the more you talked about the flower and fruit arrangement and now the hunt. And how happy you looked his stomach did flips. He rubbed his head his little girl doesn't need him anymore.
"Sempul you okay?" You ask your father before grabbing a handful of grape like fruits Lo'ak was eating and handing it to Tuk who had been asking for a while. "Don't worry Tsmuke." Neteyam said as him a Lo'ak giggle like little girls. "He just doesn't want ine of his precious baby girls growing up." Lo'ak joked earning a slight grab of the ear by Neytiri.
"I'm fine baby girl." Jake said with a closed lip smile.
-Few momentary hours later-
.
.
.
.
.
.
"Neytiri I'm freaking out." Jake said and his mate looked at him full of confusion and concern as she made her way over to where he sat in their shared room.
"What is wrong Ma' Jake?" She asked.
"Its Y/N." He said tilting his head back with his eyes closed. Neytiri hums in response trying to coax more outta him. "And Tarsem." He said again and she realizes and smiles as she taps his shoulder. He opens his eyes and looks at her. "She is fine Ma' Jake." Neytiri said as she got up and went behind a changing curtain and change into her night loincloth. "I know she's okay, its just why himmmmm." He drug out the last words to emphasize who he was talking about. "My live you need not worry, Tarsem is wise for his age, and they will be good to each other." Neytiri said walking from behind the changing curtain and into their cot. "But she won't need me anymore." Jame pouted as he wrapped his arms around Neytiri and laying down with her. "She will always need you Ma Jake but she is one of the people now she can choose a mate all will be well." She said as she settled in close ready for a peaceful sleep.
.
.
.
.
.
It was not a peaceful sleep for Tarsem.
He stayed up all night perfecting a piece that matched the necklace you made him. Today would be the day he would ask your father permission to ask for your hand. He felt all giddy inside, his light, his love, the reason he breathed, the only one he wanted to please, you. Y/N te Suli Neytiri'ite.
He tied the last string to the top. It was beautiful, reminded him of you and all of your gloriousness. His hands ran over the top and smiled.
The part that clasped around your neck was reck as was his necklace. And what dropped down where strings that were black that shined and they wrapped around what would be your torso. He thought of you wearing it, how beautiful you would be.
He waited until the sun rose along with everyone else. He saw you, your hair was wrapped up in an eccentric style as you wore a netted top and a long loin skirt that hiked up your legs. Your skin was glowy as the sun hit it.
You held Tuk's hand and listened to whatever your father was telling you about and then your eyes clocked Tarsem who held something behind his back. Taking your hand that held nothing waving at him. Jake looked at who you were waving at and took a deep breath, it's not he didn't like Tarsem. Neytiri was right he was nice, wise, kind and a strong warrior. But Jake felt as if Tarsem was stealing you away.
Tarsem proceeded to you hopefulness ran clear through his veins.
He was now in front of you.
He tried to ignore the staring of your father but the way his eyes were basically piercing his skull, it was hard.
"Um, I wanted to ask you something." He began and your ears perked and your stomach tingled as you nodded in response. "Yes." You mumble after a moment of silence except for the little giggles that Tuk squeaked out and Jake's very uncomfortable staring. "Uh can we go somewhere a little more private?" He asked and you looked around and eyes land on your father and his peering eyes, widening your eyes to tell him to stop, he doesn't.
"Yeah we can." You say. "Uh Y/N." Jake said and you shot him a pleading look, sighing once more he takes Tuk im his arms and nobs as he walks off.
Taking Tarsem's hand you walk just a litte ways into the forest not to far, smiling back at him as your hand never left him you find a nice secluded spot.
You step in front of him. He looks down at your hand still interlocked with yours. "Oh sorry." You say sheepishly taking your hand away heat rushing to your face and tuck a loose piece of hair behind your ear.
"Y/N um," he began.
"You are perfect, truly. The best thing the great mother ever made. Your laugh, the way your eyes light up when we ride on our ikrans, the way your protective over the people you love, the way on side of your cheeks have a dimple and the other doesn't, how you favorite time of the day is one hour before the sun rises because all of the animals nocturnal or not, and how you like your food extra hot even though its gross." He continues as you giggle at his words and he smiles heartily.
"And I was wondering if you would do me the honor," he said before gulping nervously.
"If you would do me the honor of being my muntxa si." He finished.
Your face was dumbfounded as he confessed all of his heart out to you. You reach for his hands squeezing them you held eye contact with him far a while as your face softened and relaxed into a content one. You wait a second, but it felt like years until you moved your body closer to his, chest to chest. He could feel every breath you took, every beat your heart made, he could feel you, see you.
Stepping on your tippy toes you plant a soft kiss on his soft lips. His lips chased after yours as you pulled your head away, giggling under the hand over your lips.
"I'll take that as a, yes?" He asked and you let your hand hold his as your smiled at him. "Yes." You say and just as you go in for another kiss you hear something.
"Tuk shush, oh no no no don't pull daddy's hair." You heard your eyes immediately went to where the words came from, and sure enough behind a bush you saw your fathers obnoxiously large shoulders and Tuk who was pulling on his dreads.
"Come on out." You say and he still pretends to be hidden. Tarsem looks toward where you are staring at and he sees your father and sister and his face heats up.
Reluctantly, Jake came out behind the bush with Tuk who smiled widely. "I'm sorr-" Jake went to say before you point to hometree and he nods and starts his walk.
And as you and Tarsem walked back into hometree you heard Tuk's small voice yelling.
"Y/N amd Tarsem kissing in the forest k-i-s-s-i-n-g."

Human Sayings Jake Sully Tries to Bring to the Na’vi Accidentally (imagine these all in Na’vi all janky as fuck):
-Jake, during a war council meeting: you win some you loose some.
Tarsem, nodding sagely: This is very wise, Jake Suli.
-Jake: Lo’ak will be back before eclipse, Eywa willing if the creek don’t rise.
Neytiri: tHE CREEK IS RISING?
Jake: Wait, no--
-Jake, before Lo’ak’s iknimaya: break a leg!
Lo’ak, tearing up: wHaT?!?
Jake: wait--
-This man is constantly knocking on wood. There’s so much wood available, he lives in a tree for God’s sake. He’s like “the hunt will be blessed today, knock on wood,” or “I think it might rain later, knock on wood,” and all the Omaticaya are so confused.
-He called Neytiri’s medicine bag a fanny pack one time.
-During a war council meeting: Alright, let’s table this. Revisit after dinner.
Tonowari: You want us to attack the human fleet with tables??
Jake: Ugh, no, sorry.
-Told Neteyam not to be “such a wet blanket” one time when he told Lo’ak not to jump down to Jake from a really high waterfall when they were little. Definitely broke his nose when Lo’ak misjudged the jump and landed on him. Definitely also got in trouble with Neytiri when the kids won’t stop calling each other wet blankets for at least a month. The wetness of the blankets ratchets up based on how mad the person is. Kiri once told Lo’ak he was a sopping blanket when he stepped on Spider’s foot.
-Told Neytiri Neteyam tripped over a branch by saying he “ate it” once and she was horrified, mostly because why would an eight year old be dumb enough eat a branch.
-Told Mo’at he was “feeling under the weather” once when she asked how he felt. She did not question it at all, deciding if he really wanted her to know he’d tell her in real words.
-Told Ronal he and Tonowari were going to “shoot the breeze.” Ronal was disgusted with this waste of time and resources.

Don’t Forget About Me.
Summary: Ever since Jake Sully had joined the Avatar program and successfully integrated with the Omatikaya, Graces demeanour toward you has changed.
Warnings: angst; Grace being a total loser.
Dr. Grace Augustine x Scientist!Reader
Tumblr media
You had always known that Grace Augustine was not one to care about “sky people”, preferring to be surrounded by the beauty Pandora had to offer and around the Omatikaya, longing for acceptance.
So when you were assigned to be under her wing in the Avatar Program, along with Norm and Jake Sully, you couldn’t help but admire the scientists passion and determination to understand the Na’vi. Which in turn pushed you to strive for acceptance from the Dr.
However, everything changed when Jake Sully, the “warrior of the jar-head clan” was accepted into the Omatikaya clan. Earning his place in the clan and into the good books of Grace. From that moment on, Graces demeanour toward you shifted, a palpable difference that cut your core.
Despite your best efforts to prove yourself to Grace, you always found yourself being overlooked and dismissed in favour of Jake. You had poured your heart out into your studies of Pandora, but all efforts fell on deaf ears.
Each day brought a new wave of disappointment as you watched as Grace lavish attention and praise on Jake, while your own achievements went unnoticed and unacknowledged.
“Grace! I think Norm and I found something, you might wanna come check it out—“ You say excitedly, maybe this would get her attention.
Your words were met with a blank stare from Grace. You were useless now, just one extra person using up the limited supply of oxygen.
The sense of rejection weighed heavily on you, a constant reminder of your inadequacy in the eyes of the person you looked up to the most.
As the riff widened, your desperation for Graces approval only grew stronger but everything you did was never enough, never as good as Jake. The marine who had been accepted by the clan.
Feeling alone and overlooked, you struggled to find your place in a world that once seemed so full of promises, now tainted by the harsh reality of rejection.

Heyy bestie! I’ve watched avatar again and was wondering if I could request something with my love tarsem where the reader has a crystal obsession and so tarsem always brings her back some from his trips or makes her something with them??
A/N: Of course, I can bestie, Tarsem deserves more love <3
Pretty Rocks: Tarsem
Tumblr media
Oh how you loved crystals so much and learning about them and their different properties. You loved to look at them and admire how pretty they were and Pandora seem to have a lot of them just lying around for you to look at, you only would take a few from time to time not wanting to be greedy. But there was one person who would give you all the crystals in the world just to see your smile and that was your mate Tarsem.
Tarsem fell in love with you because of how much you loved Pandora and the world around you and it didn't matter if you were human or not.  You saw the beauty in everything around you but especially crystals, he still remembers the first time he had accompanied you on a walk through the forest to find some.
"You really like crystals huh?" He asked you as you two approached the place where the crystals could be found.
"Yeah, I do. But on Earth, they are so rare to find that you usually had to buy them from other people and wonder if they were real or not." You said sadly making Tarsem frown.
"Well, I promise you that here you can find all the crystals you want and for free." He said giving you a small smile.
From that day forward Tarsem always tried to bring you crystals back whenever he went out, and would always smile whenever he came to your room in the lab and saw the growing collection and how happy it made you. Right now he was sitting with Neytiri trying to make you a necklace that he hoped would fit made out of your favorite crystals that he had found.
"What do you think? Do you think she'll like it?" He asked nervously.
"I think she'll love it especially since you made it." She said giving his hand a squeeze hoping to ease his nerves.
After finishing up your necklace, he made his way toward the lab, excited and nervous to give it to you. He walked and grabbed a mask and said hello to Norm and a few others, before heading to your room. He gently knocked on the door and heard you say come in before carefully stepping inside where he saw you at your desk working on something.
"Hi, Ma y/n." He said making your turn in your chair with a smile.
"Ma Tarsem, what are you doing here? I thought I wasn't seeing you until tomorrow." You said standing up and hugging him.
"Well, that was just a little lie so I could finish making your gift." He said kneeling to your level.
"My gift? Tarsem I already told you that you don't have to get me anything." You said to him.
"I know but I worked really hard on this and I hope you'll like it. Can you hold your hand out for me and close your eyes for a minute?" He asked you as you nodded your head.
"Okay open them." He said to you.
You opened your eyes and looked down at your hands and saw the most beautiful necklace you had ever seen out of your favorite colors. You held it and watched how the sun hit the different colors making them reflect off of your walls.
"You made this?" You asked him shocked.
"I did. Do you like it?" He asked you nervously.
"I love it so much! Thank you!" You said wrapping your arms around his neck as he hugged you back.
"Can you put it on me please?" You asked him as you turned around and moved your hair out of the way.
"Of course, I can yawne." He said placing it around your neck and fastening it.
"There you go. Fits perfectly." He said placing a kiss on your shoulder as you turned around and smiled at him.
"I'll never take it off, thank you." You said placing a kiss on his cheek.
"I love you ma y/n." He said placing a kiss on your lips.
"I love  you ma tarsem." You said smiling at him.

I'll wait no matter how long it takes
Pairing- Tarsem x Sully!reader
Summary- Tarsem would wait for you, no matter what.
Request-yes
Tumblr media
A/N- I need him looking at me like that right neow.
-A few years earlier-
Jake sat with the elders and Neytiri. You knew today was the day they would choose you to begin learning the ways of Tsahik and Neteyam to learn the ways of the Olo'eyktan. You didn't think it was fair, you would be just as good, if not better Olo'eyktan. So here you were storming into the elders’ chambers. "And so Y/N will train to be Tsahik.." One of the elders’ proclamations was cut off by your booming voice, "No I will not." You say and everyone's wide eyes turn to you.
" 'Ite, (daughter) you shouldn't be here.." Neytiri interrupts in the suddenly tense air and you cut her off. "It is tradition for the eldest to train to be Olo'eyktan, yes?" You ask and the elders share a look amongst themselves. "Yes.." One of them said cautiously, trying to choose their words carefully. "And I am the oldest, yes?" You ask them again and they all nod reluctantly.
"So why is it that I cannot be Olo'eyktan after my father? It is my right by birth." You say, eyebrows creased as you stressed the importance of your words. "Is it because you think less of me? Or is it because I am a woman?" You ask which then makes all that were present in the room share a sharp inhale. It looks as if they all have connected thoughts as they shake their heads in unison. The elder that sat in the middle looked at you and straightened his back, mulling over his next words.
"Y/N te Suli Neytiri'ite, you are a wise child, with a strong heart, and one can attest that you can make a compelling argument." He said and you bow your head slightly. "And that is why we will allow you to train as Olo'eyktan. I have seen your skills in battle, you will learn from your father but not just as a warrior but as a leader, you will learn the triumphs and failures that come with being Olo'eyktan. Are you ready for that?" The older man asked, eyes meeting yours as if scrutinizing your next move.
There was a moment of silence as you maintained eye contact with the older man. A beat passed. And then two before you parted your lips to let your answer slip through.
"Yes."
And after that day you sat in on every war meeting, every advice on battle strategy your father got, you heard, you traveled with him when meeting and commencing trades with the other nearby clans, you trained and trained until you were better than everyone. You were one of the strongest warriors of your clan, and you were wise beyond your years.
You didn't have much of a life outside of training, but there was one person you always made time for. Tarsem. He was kind, gentle, different from the other na’vi men in your clan but he was strong. And everytime you were paired with him to train or even go on raids with one another, you couldn't help the mighty thumps of your heart against your chest.
And then came the fateful night where you and Tarsem became one. The mere memory of it allowed a smile to grace upon your lips.
Tarsem held your hand as you ducked under a branch and revealed a beautiful tree. It was flourishing with life, but hidden behind other forest life. "I found this while hunting the other day and I thought of you." He said and you smiled. And there you sat and talked. But Tarsem couldn't pull his eyes away from you. The way when something funny happened in the story you had to stop yourself from bursting into a fit of laughter, or when a creature came from the shadows, you halted your words to observe it. So caught up in the story you were currently telling, you didn't notice the way Tarsem held your hand in his. Your hands fitting perfectly in his, he thought as he allowed his thumb to caress them.
Stopping your story at the light touch of his thumb against the back of your hand, you turned to look at him, his soft green eyes peering back at you. No words were needed as the grip on his hand tightened and you both leaned towards one another. A million fireworks, colorful explosions as your father called them, went off as both your lips connected. His arm worked its way around you, lifting you off the ground by your waist and putting you on his lap. You pulled away, cradling his face as he craned his head up to gaze into your eyes before he reached for his kuru.
Nobody in the clan knew you and Tarsem mated but it wasn't needed as he waited on you, hand and foot. He was completely and utterly in love with you. Anything you wanted or asked for he had it before you even thought of it, he was yours. Mind, body, and soul. As you were his.
But now you sit, listening to your father tell you that you have to leave, abandon your home. And when the words, "Tarsem will take over as Olo'eyktan he has already been notified." Tears pooled in your eyes. You had to leave your mate.
"Dad, I forgot to tie Tsalwi up. May I go?" You ask, trying to hide the waver in your voice that threatened to break. He looked at you as if observing, before nodding, watching as you quickly excuse yourself from your family’s kelku (home). Your chest rose up and down as you ran into the forest.
When you get to the exact step you pulled the bunched up tree bush back to see Tarsem standing up looking at the tree you two found all those months ago. He turned around and it looked as if he had cried his entire heart out yet his eyes still filled with tears as they met with yours. And no matter how hard you tried to push the burden of emotions off, you couldn't. As the tears fell from your eyes, all of your words were caught up in your throat as your hand covered your mouth. He walked closer and wrapped his arms around you, tugging you in his embrace and you melted hearing his heartbeat and feeling every shaky breath he took. You hiccuped as you tried to stop crying but the tears that fell were never ending.
His hands cradled the sides of your face, a forced smile finds its way to his lips and a tear drips from his eyes now. "I'm sorry, my love." You say pressing your head to his chest. "For what?" He whispered, he was truly confused why on this earth would the love of his life apologize to him? "For.. leaving you." You day through choked sobs. "But that is not your fault, Ma' Txe'lan (heart). There is nothing we can do but love at the moment." He says making you look him in the eyes as he holds your chin. "But.. but what will we do, we will not have each other, we do not know for how long.." You sob and he gently shushes you, hands going down to your neck, thumb going over your pulse as his nose twitches pitifully with sadness.
"I will wait for you, no matter how long it takes."
His words bring a strange sense of comfort over you as you smile, a content smile gracing your lips as his forehead pressed against yours as you shared one breath.
.
.
.
And the next morning, as you watch your mate cut your father across his chest, a breath hitches in your throat and your stomach flips over on itself. And as he turned to the clan knife in the air your gaze cast down to the ground, afraid if you look you'd stay.
As you hiked yourself up on your ikran, Tsalwi, she felt your pain, a saddened screech erupted from her throat as she began flapping her wings in a ballistic manner, your eyes made it to the new Olo'eyktan, your mate, your Tarsem. Bowing your head to him one last time before connecting your queue and riding off to wherever your father had deemed fit.

When you did finally get to the place your family searched for it was anything but what you were expecting.
Many of the people accepted you, reluctantly. But, the others. They sneered, they mocked, they bullied. You ignored it, but your hard headed brother didn't know how to and that always dragged Neteyam in it.
Adapting was fairly easy for you, but each day you yearned for the touch of Tarsem, a kiss from him, the thought of him made you happier in this shit hole of a situation you were currently in.
And then they found you, they being the demons in Na'vi flesh and shameless scientists who killed the animals the Great Mother blessed Pandora with.
When your father swam forward ready to die, Payakan had jumped over the boat just in time, crushing a lot of the demons underneath. You and Neteyam leaped onto the large ship, cutting your younger sisters loose. Tuk jumped into your arms and you told her to be quiet as they ran in front of you whilst you kept an eye out for them.
And as you run to jump from the boat you see Ronal, the Tsahik she looked fierce, and mighty while pregnant and all. But then one of the demons, one she hadn’t taken notice of, got ready to attack her as she killed one of them with her spear. Immediately picking up a loose gun you shoot the demon before he could do so, thank Eywa your father taught you better than Lo'ak. She looked at you and then the dead sky person. Bowing her head quickly you do the same as you run to your siblings, discarding the guns, you had never really liked them.
Lo'ak was the first to dive into the ocean; you and Neteyam were ensuring everyone's safety first, then Tsireya, and as Kiri and Tuk got ready they were snatched up. Tsireya jumped out of the water since she was closer but the demon pushed her back in. Neteyam got knocked back and a gun was pointed towards him. It came as an instinct, 'protect your siblings', your father would always say to you. Jumping between them, you flung Neteyam back into the water. A sudden burn and a stinging pain began between your neck and shoulder as you used the last bit of your strength to dive in the water.
Neteyam grabbed you and saw the blood and the hole in your shoulder, your body lacking its usual warmth. Mounting an ilu, Neteyam held your body close to him as he rode with the other Metkayina back to the clan, Tsireya following him. Lo'ak stayed back, he was going to avenge his sister.
-Several hours later-
Jake held Tuk to his chest as Neytiri held her own face in her hands. Lo'ak was a little bloodied but had refused treatment. Not until his sister was healed. Ronal stepped out of the hut and all of the Sully's stood up. "She is fine now, the recovery will be painful but she is fine." Ronal says and Neytiri gasps as if she was now finally able to breathe. "Thank you Great Mother, thank you." She prayed. "May.. May we see her?" Neteyam asked and Ronal nodded, moving to allow them into the tent. Without hesitation they piled themselves into the small healing tent.
It was many days and many nights till you would finally awake.
Your siblings threw their arms around you before quickly pulling away once they heard you hiss as a throbbing pain made its way to your shoulder. "Are you okay sis?" Lo'ak asks, hands hovering over your shoulder as if that was gonna keep it from hurting.
"I'm good. Just.. wanna get out of this bed." You groan as you pull yourself out of bed. Your siblings all look at each other as you grab a cane that must’ve been left behind by its previous user. You used your uninjured arm to limp with the cane as it hurt to move your opposite arm. Stepping out into the light for the first time in days, you instantly squint your sensitive eyes when the sun hits them.
As you walk into the beach, the cane making a deep dent in the sand, Jake runs up and puts his hand on your back, supporting you. "Y/N you shouldn't be up—" he was immediately cut off by your obnoxious scoff. "I am fine, father, plus there is much to be done." You say as you begin walking down the beach. A few other Na'vi waved at you, even thanked you, for what you didn't really know, well until the one you saved stopped you.
Ronal, Tsahik Ronal. "Oh ‘evi (child) you are awake. I wanted to thank you for saving me when I had my guard down.." She said, bowing her head. And then it clicked to you, just minutes before you got shot, she hadn't seen the sky person trying to attack her from behind as she was attacking a different sky demon. You saved her. You saved the Tsahik.
You stood up as quickly as you could, bowing your head in respect. "It was only right. Anyone else in my shoes would have done the same." You say and a soft smile graced her lips. "But it is you who did it." She says. "Come, let's walk." You offer, your family trailing not far behind, wanting to hear the conversation.
"I would like to know if you would like the gift both from Eywa and the clan, for your bravery from that day." She said and you were all ears, "What is the gift?" You ask, curious. "A tattoo, traditionally you get your tattoo for completing their rites of passage but considering your Iknimaya and your completion of Uniltaron, you've completed the rites of passage." Ronal said.
"I got mine when I bonded with my soul sister." Ronal said and your ears perked. "I would like that." You say and before your father interrupted you and your mother shot him a glare. He stood before just nodding in reluctant agreement.
"That is perfect, I have the perfect tattoo design for you." She says grabbing your hand helping you walk to the tattooing hut.
She helped you sit, pulling out a script that had a female body drawn up with a tattoo design on it.
The design on this one was absolutely beautiful. It begins on the right side of your neck, goes down to your right shoulder, and down to your shoulder blade, all the way down to your forearm.
The elder got the supplies ready while Ronal sat with you. The elder used a needle and what you assumed was ink, she poked your skin after every dip from the murky black ink.
It did hurt a little more than usual as the skin around your wound was still sensitive, but you worked through it as the ink was embedded in your skin. And over time when you recovered and your tattoo healed you felt like everything was perfect, but still a yearning inside you remained. Your Tarsem. You yearned to go back to him but you couldn't do that to your family.
So you sat at the edge of the marui, looking at the eclipsing sun. Ronal snuck up and sat next to you. "You are thinking of something ‘evi." She spoke up and it was rather a statement than a question. "Yes." You reply. "More of someone, I suppose, huh?" She laughs and your face drops. How did she know? She was Tsahik, but how? "You can go to him. I will tell your family that they can leave in the morning but you deserve to have a little more time between you and your mate." She gives you a knowing look and you giggle playfully, gently nudging her shoulder.
You happily packed your stuff on top of your ikran and hiked on top of the banshee. She chirps in excitement, letting out a loud screech as both of you make your way home.
.
.
.
.
It took a little bit to get there but when you did, there was a loud horn that signaled the people of your arrival.
"Someone is back!" A scout yelled out. Many surrounded the place as you dismounted from your ikran. "Granddaughter?" Your grandmother's aged voice rang through your ears; she sounded as if she was questioning herself. "Yes grandmother it is me." You smile, bowing your head. She smiles and then she sees your arm. "What happened?" She asks, pointing to your wound. "It is nothing ,grandmother, later we will talk." You say and she only sighs.
Your eyes darted around but couldn't find the man you've been yearning for these past few months. "Go, I'm sure he is waiting at your spot. He goes there everyday and every night." Mo'at chuckles as your eyes widen. "You may have your parents fooled but you cannot fool me."
She says and you smile and then it drops when the screech from your fathers ikran catches your attention. "I will tell them something now, go." She says and you bow your head once more as you run into the woods.
You run through the trees, letting the smell of the forest, earth, and home hit your face. Your hair ran wild and your arms went with the wind. It was like you never left at all. Finally, you reached the familiar spot, the spot that made you so happy you could burst at the seams. Pushing the bush aside, you step into the area. The tree seemed to have gotten more beautiful since you last saw it, but what is under the tree is what you came here for.
"Tarsem, my love."
His ears perked up but his brain refused to believe it. He stayed with his back towards you. It wasn't until your skin came in contact with his did he finally breathe, turning around, your hand still halfway in the air, he had caught it in his. He'd never been so happy to see five fingers in his life. Kissing each one you giggled at how silly he looked.
When he was done he finally let your hand down but with his still interlocked with yours. You held eye contact, no words were spoken.
His hands ran up your arms, as if it was a habit before it stopped over your tattoo and healed wound. "You have a wound." Concern filled his voice. "It has already healed, my love." You smile as his hands traced over your tattoo, every line, every curve. And after a while it was just holding each other in your arms. Only when you needed to say something did you finally speak.
"You waited." You say and he smiles and nods. "And I would do it all over again. No matter how long it would take."

I can’t BELIEVE for the nights and days of life is over, I was starting to think that novel would last forever.
I hope you all are ready for the fact that it’s not over here on my blog, as my 5-5 ass is not done with it yet. In that respect, here are the chapter ten notes. No spoilers in the comments for me and any people who haven’t read yet, or are for some godforsaken reason, reading along with me.
And @mochalottie u are a queen and my favorite, I’m so sorry for taking so so long to read your work and being so bad at responding to your dms, I’m at the stage in adulting where every text from anyone seems like a monumental task lol. I’m trying to manage time better and respond better. It doesn’t help that I work in a high school so it blocks tumblr!!
Onto the for the nights and days of life chapter 10 notes! Happy Halloween all!
-The way I feel like my own children are growing up too fast when I hear that Spider and Neteyam aren’t sitting with Mo’at in the infirmary much anymore.
-Ur fighting my Jake and Mo’at spend an insane amount of time gossiping headcanon. Ur simply spitting on it. Just think about it, just pICTURE it. Mo’at’s grinding up a paste and Jake sneaks in like “…Have your heard about what happened with Moe and Ninat?” and Mo’at goes “JAKE SULI I would never talk behind someone’s back. Tell me everything.”
-Hey, Neytiri being like unable to acknowledge Paz as Spider’s mom? Banger. It really gets to me. She’s like well fuck off that’s my kid all while doubting herself. But Mo’at's right baby Spider was Neytiri’s number one fan from day one, he was literally always a momma’s boy.
-Also because you mentioned the kids taking an afternoon nap, I wanted to take a moment to just highlight how hellish that year or so where Neteyam, Kiri, and Spider were done with naps and Lo’ak still needed them was. You know his ass threw the bIGGEST tantrum every time it was time for a nap and everyone else was still playing. He was enRAGED because no one has fomo like Lo’ak. The kid was feral, crying overtired tears simply insisting that he is absolutely not tired and does nOT NEED A NAP.
-Spider being in the sleeping pile is one of the things that makes my heart grow three sizes every time I read about it. But you made it 20 times worse by adding in that by himself he spreads out for safety but he feels safe in the pile, like I’ll kill myself.
-I literally can prove Spider always asks for banana fruit and I’m starting to become convinced it’s the only fruit he knows.
-Lol Norm and Max sitting on Earth absolutley fIGHTING over who has to tell Jake things are going BadTM.
-Lol I just literally kNEW that Neteyam wanted to make Spider a present, and yet instead his gift to him was even more of a complex.
-YOU CANNOT TEASE TARSEM LOVE STORY TO ME. ALSO I’M NOW ASSUMING HE’S GAY THAT SCENE READ GAY.
-This is what both Jake and I thought of when Neytiri told him to keep his secrets:
Tumblr media
SHE QUOTED THAT MOVIE ALMOST BAR FOR BAR MAN, IF I WAS JAKE THAT WOULD’VE SENT MEEEE. When I was younger I used to have to share a bed with my cousin on family vacations, and I’m telling you bitch is possessed. She sleep walks and sleep talks, and sleep assaults me in my sleep. But one time she fucking quoted The Princess Bride and the next morning when I told her I loved that movie, she told me she’s never seen it. I have never felt more fear for my life. Picture Jake struggling to explain the plot of Lord of the Rings, his ass has seen it, his twin was a nerd.
-Jake as soon as his child needs comfort: Oh fuck, I’M the only one here!
-Spider, like 7: I won’t be able to mate dad. Jake: I have to go. I’m not ready for this.
-HUMANS ARE BACK, time for things to get a little fucking sad. I know I’m ALMOST twenty chapters behind and you guys are already in it, but I’m just getting started baybeeee.
-Also I love Spider calling his parents Ma and Da, your Irishness has crept in.

Fem! Omatikaya x Tuk(PLATONIC)
Where the reader is tuks bestie, she is Poppiti. And how the reader reacts when they have to leave.
Time skip to when Tuk and her are older, the Sully’s finally come back. And she sees how she’s changed how she’s like a lone wolf and stuff, or how she’s gotten new friends and forgot about her. But the matching thing they wear is something Y/n always wears.🫧
DOES THIS MAKE SENSE?!
PROMISE ANKLET
Tuktirey x Child!reader (platonic)
Masterlist
Warning: Crying. Separation. Angst WITH comfort. I cannot stress this enough children at that age do not really understand that it isn’t their friend’s choices to leave them so the reader will be angry at Tuk but will grow to understand!
Translations: pänu- promise; uniltìrantokx- dreamwalkers; tsamsä'o- weapons of war; kelku- home; pawk- horn; Mawey- calm
Word count: 612
Note: I literally love this, we need more tuk x readers (PLATONIC) out there. Also this background Omatikaya is so CUTE OMG
Tumblr media
Four years have slipped by like a dream since I last laid eyes Tuk, my dearest friend. Leaving me longing for the familiar comfort of her presence every day for the last four years.
Then, today the sound of the pawk echoed through the while village, signaling a return. No hunting party had ventured out, yet there was an unmistakable call of homecoming.
As the Olo'eytkan, Tarsem, emerges from his kuru, "Mawey, my people, mawey." he announces, drawing the attention of the gathering crowd near the ikrans.
Drawing closer, my heart pounds with anticipation, then I see them– the Sullys. A surge of emotion washes over me as I realise that among those returning, is Tuk.
Tumblr media
As we reached the top of the tree, Tuk's voice trembled as she spoke, "Taw, I heard my mom and dad fighting. They said we need to leave this clan. To seek uturu from another."
Confusion swirled inside me. "Uturu? Why? There's no war," I said, searching her eyes for answers.
Tuk leaned close, her voice barely a whisper, as if what she was about to tell me was a forbidden secret, "Yesterday, Lo'ak, Spider, Kiri and I saw uniltìrantokx, out there in the forest with tsamsä'o."
Reality crashed on me like a falling tree. "So now you have to leave..?" I asked, my heart sinking with each word.
Tears welled up as I leaped down from the tree, sprinting toward my kelku. Tuks footsteps echoing behind me.
Rushing into the kelku, tears streaming down my cheeks. I ran up to my sa'nok who was peacefully weaving a basket before Tuk and I barged in. "What happened to our pänu, Tuk? That we'd never leave each other!" I choked out between sobs.
"You have the audacity to wear a pänutìng you can't even keep!" I accused, pointing at her ankle and then at mine.
"It is final, my dad said." Tuk sobbed, reaching out to me.
"You said we'd always be best friends," I stammered, tears burning my vision as I looked at Tuk.
"We are. We always will be. As long as you and I both have these anklets." Tuk reassured pulling me into a hug.
"You promise you wont–" before I could finish my question, one of Tuks siblings called her away to pack.
As Tuk rushed over to Kiri, I felt a hand on my shoulder turning around I was met with the soft gaze of my kneeling sa'nok.
"Come Taw, she might be leaving. But your memories will stay for life." she said as I cried into her neck.
The next day was the day the Sully's had left, the day Tuk left me behind.
Watching as the family walks past everyone and onto their ikrans, my gaze meets Tuks.
I watched as Neytiri's hand went to push to toward me, encouraging a goodbye. I raised my hands up toward my mother and got carried by her, nestling my face into her neck breaking eye contact. A sign I did not wish to speak to her.
Tumblr media
My eyes lock onto Tuk's, my childhood best friend, and it's like she's been waiting for me too. Quickly I glance at her foot, searching for the familiar anklet, a symbol of our bond.
There it is, still clinging onto her ankle, just like mine. Relief flood through me as I meet her gaze again, and she's smiling, knowing exactly what I'm thinking.
"You kept our promise." we say together, rushing into each others arms. Wrapping in each others embrace.
Little did we know there were two people watching us, happy to see both their children reunited, knowing this friendship would last a life time.
