Days ago, I finally have in the my inner Swiftie and made a little Taylor Swift sideblog for reblogging polls and gifs, and I listed my favorite Taylor love songs in the bio, the ones about stable, comfortable love without drama and mindgames, and I made my header a gif of Taylor hugging her longtime boyfriend, and less than 2 weeks after I did this, they broke up.

*tumblr's blacklist feature actually works, and folks can just filter out what they're not interested in

**an overly social weekend with my husband's family involving a family reunion/Christmas/Easter celebration involving 5+ hours with 40+ people, plus houseguests the whole weekend, so I'm overly emotional about this celebrity breakup and sad that it means Taylor will likely never play "Sweet Nothing" live, a song that was a runaway hit with my heart, inspiring both my sideblog username AND my main blog tagline

i honestly feel like the swifties who hadn't listened to reputation properly hates on joe now. did they not remember the things people said to taylor when she was writing reputation? do they not remember the undeserved hate she got? do they not remember the 'TaylorSwiftIsOverParty'? do they forgot the time when she was in the gym and paparazzi harassed her and she cried at the studio?

who was there to support her, when the whole world was against her? who was the person who inspired soooo many hit songs? who was there to help her write songs during lockdown? who 'even in my worst time, you saw the best in me'? who was standing with her when she released not one, not two, not threee but SEVEN ALBUMS?

does joe REALLY deserves the hate he's getting? i've literally seen so many 'he lost the great war' 'joe you better be on your guard' ect comments and something in me tells taylor wouldn't like it.

sure, they broke up and sure it broke taylor's heart and sure when we saw her crying while singing champagne problems, we had a striking suspicion why. but people come and go, that's life and taylor is probably the best person to tell you that. you can fall in love and you can fall out of love, should we, swifties, one of the biggest fandom in the world, hate someone who stood with taylor when no one else did just because he's feelings changed?

for all we know, he might pull a taylor launter and do cartwheels on the next tour when taylor announces a mv for debut tv. you never know 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Not a major Taylor Swift fan (but I like her songs just fine) so I don't know how correct it is of me to comment about her according to the online culture but all these tweets dissing Joe Alwyn are making me so made because how can people take one person's side of the story as the true story and disrespect the other person like they were actually right there seeing the story unfold, it just makes me realize how irrational people can be.

Every story has several sides, most times the sides differ from each other but that simply doesn't mean that one side is right or the other is wrong, perspective is a thing that matters, you can never decide what's right or what's wrong if you are looking from just one point of view.

And I really think it's highly unfair that the other person gets no chance to defend themselves while you jump on the hate train just because your favourite wrote a song and you get the idea that it's the most truthful thing that's out there. While I know being a fan makes you prioritize your idol first but it wouldn't harm you or your favourite to be a little considerate of other people's feelings especially when you loved them fine before it all.
