— introducing of colour.
of colour. is a discord server and tumblr blog dedicated to showcasing the work of creators of color. run by admins dominic [@dominnow] and toch [@lonelysuburb], of colour. aims to be an inclusive space for all kinds of experiences! that’s why, despite having a focus on brown people of any origin, it’s completely open to all people of color.
as people, let alone creators, of color, we’re often told that our stories don’t matter, that our cultures aren’t worth anything [unless it’s being fetishized + turned into an aesthetic], and that the color of our skin and noneurocentric features are ugly.
we’re here to provide a space where we can discuss our experiences and work without comments like these. in this server, you can ask for help and give help and make friends with experiences like yours!
— to join!
there are no qualifications that must be met to join, other than being a person of color! as much as we appreciate our anti-racist white friends, this server’s intended purpose is to be a safe space for people of color.
you can join the server here and follow the blog, @ofcolours! once you’ve followed the link to the server, read the rules + introduce yourself, and you’ll have access to the server ! please be patient; we’ll do our best to grant you access soon after you join, but we also have our own things to attend to !
any members [who also get a spot on this member page because we’re extra] can tag their work with #ofcolourtracking and we’ll be sure to interact with it!
— thanks!
we’re so excited for of colour. and we hope you are, too! if you’re white, or just don’t feel like joining, that’s okay! feel free to signal boost this to your followers [please do, in fact]!

@projectliterature event 01 : 2020 releases — beach read, emily henry
people were complicated. they weren't math problems; they were collections of feelings and decisions and dumb luck. the world was complicated too, not a beautiful hazy french film but a disastrous, horrible mess, speckled with brilliance and love and meaning

“She’s very much what Alex holds in his memory as the sanctified idea of southerness at its best: always generous and warm and sincere, work-strong and reliable, a light left on.”
