Two things...

The final battle scene in the movie is primarily Border Tribe versus Dora Milaje + Shuri and Nakia... This reminds me of how flawed the inner workings of The Civil Rights and Black Panther movements in the 1950s were. Some men allowed their power to get the best of them, that they've lost their sight on the intended goal by doing injustice/wrong to their fellow comrades (men and women) in the Black community. The arrival of The Jabari Tribe during that battle represents consciousness that demands respect with authority. Not that fake wokeness that people witness in this Era (i.e., Hoteps). Notice how quick they were able to knockout all the traitors who turned against T'Challa... Cue W'Kabi with his rhino, attempting to take out M'Baku from behind before Okoye stepped in to stop his so-called victory run... Otherwise, we would've lost M'Baku.

Speaking of which, after T'Challa reclaimed the throne as King, we see him walking towards his seat as the soldiers opened the doors for him. At 1:59:10, Nakia, General Okoye, Queen Mother and a few other representatives were there. Lord M'Baku stood tall on the opposite side of Okoye, officially part of T'Challa's court to help look after Wakanda (even though he still believes in tradition).

Who was missing in that scene? W'Kabi and the vast majority of The Border Tribe. Some of them died in the final battle, but those who were left standing (kneeling in defeat) are nowhere to be seen upon T'Challa's return to the throne room. It's safe to assume they were indefinitely punished/jailed for treason.

Some faces (in the GIF above) were granted another chance... At least that's what I think went down after the fact.

One thing's for certain: Okoye cut ties with W'Kabi for his cowardice.

WING ZERO EPISODES

Quatre Winner: Episodes 24 - 25 / 45 in Sandrock with ZERO System installed.

Heero Yuy: Episode 26 / 35 and onwards

Duo Maxwell: Episode 32

Zechs Merquise: Episode 34

Wufei Chang: Episode 42

Who can handle it? Quatre and Heero

Whose psyche got jacked up? All

Who almost died piloting ZERO? Duo, and he's The God of Death. Interesting, huh? Trowa almost lost it in threes within that cockpit, too. You can see that nameless mercenary war child, versus the silent clown of a stolen childhood, versus the actualized Gundam pilot prior to his memories coming back.

Who recovered a significant loss? Trowa - his memories of being a war child returned. Zechs, who'd lost everything he ever loved (from his childhood to his moral compass). He still remembers that fateful day when his home went up in flames, and eventually resents the people of Earth for targeting The Sanc Kingdom again.

Kind apologies for having Trowa and Zechs as muses. It happens. They tend to run things, even outside of fanfics.**

So whose level of resentment spiked up while piloting (and don't confuse this with power)? Zechs (for the Sanc Kingdom getting destroyed a second time), Wufei (for what's happened to his home with The Dragon Clan), Quatre (for being rejected upon returning to space, along with the deaths of family members), and Heero (for realizing he's been used as a pawn for the majority of his young life).

I'm not trying to write a new fic here, but damn. Character sketches are truly something.**

Fashion Week #1

On Discord, there's debate that the fashion standards in Gundam Wing are slim to none. Even official artwork displays a friendly attempt, if the characters didn't have to deal with war. Call it a snippet of what life would've been like if Earth and Space didn't initiate warfare. Or, the popular post-canon aftermath of peacetime.

↑ Love these, but you can tell they're still bored they don't appreciate being snapped without notice. Relena must've told them, "Act cool. Paparazzi alert!"

↓ Below, they're free to have fun and enjoy the environment in their Winter gear. And yes, Heero, Relena pulled a trick on you.

↑ Wufei? Calm down, bruh. Don't push it too hard. Don't forget how short you are.

↓ Duo: So, will there ever be a purpose for us again?

Quatre: I sure hope so.

Trowa: I don't know a life separate from war, though. Not unless I put on a show.

Wufei: Shouldn't that be tiresome? Even peacetime is complicated.

Heero: I'd rather destroy those paparazzi magnets that won't leave us alone. Talking about how we look boring or something along those lines. But we didn't have a typical life, either.

This pic gets me in my feelings. I don't blame them for feeling as though they gotta fit in with society. *Cue music, "Listen" by Dreamgirls. Trust me, it's suitable.*

↓ Also, notice how bored they really look in those suspenders? Some Duo fans may have seen him smiling the first few times, but I zoomed in earlier and he's not interested. Can't blame him for mirroring Wufei and Heero. Meanwhile, Trowa is looking at Quatre like, "When will this end?" And Quatre's eyes say, "Just go with the flow for now." It's easy to picture Trowa whispering, "But the others hate it. Can't we just, leave?"

↑ At first glance, Duo is the only one who openly admits that the Mariemaia Army uniforms are... Look at his face (and pose). Speaks mad volumes which is very in-character for a loquacious dude. Upon second observation, none of them are happy! Quatre's fake smile tells all. Trowa's blank stare under any circumstances is a surefire sign you've lost him. Slight possibility he's mentally roasting the photographer. Wufei's screaming internally while Heero's thinking, "That's it. Right?"

Relena's business attire + Heero walking out in his maintenance disguise / Quatre's "Desert Prince" attire.

It's already been decided by a select few that Heero Yuy is the least acclimated to fashion. Give them their Preventer uniforms though, and you'll see real smiles this time (even Heero is happy - yay!). Because they get to be themselves, without their Gundams.💯🍍

Wait a minute. I don't see smiles for two of them anymore. ((I think this post is cursed...))

A Sally Po treat right here.

Judging from the looks alone, most fashions in the CE timeline (After Colony Era) seems to favour aristocratic people. Those who want to get comfortable, even in casual wear, looks nearly drab. Maybe it's just me, but I always wonder what's up with that?

Now I can see the real reasons why The Oscars (2019) had left a bitter taste in everyone's mouth, for "Best Picture".

As some of y'all had seen my mention last night, stating how happy I was to see many POCs represented this year.

Happy as I am, I'm also saddened and disgusted.

"Best Picture of the Year" was snubbed, BIG TIME.

Of all the titles, beautiful storylines/adaptations/biopics, and the people who genuinely made their films possible...

Green Book had won.

I didn't make mention of it, but this is the part where The Academy failed miserably. I haven't seen Green Book, and I have NO intentions of watching it now. Some research on how the movie was done made me question the credibility and integrity of the directors and screenwriters for that film.

Black Panther, If Beale Street Could Talk, Mary Poppins Returns, A Star Is Born, Roma, BlackKklansmen, Bohemian Rhapsody... One of those titles should've gone home with "Best Picture of the Year". That's the honest truth.

Because of the authentic stories behind them. Because of the diverse groups of people represented. Heck, the remaining members of Queen had approved Bohemian Rhapsody for filming. Stan Lee can also Rest in Power knowing that Black Panther has finally made it on the big screen. A Star Is Born reveals the truth about mental illness and how to stick closer than a brother through it all. The beautiful Roma (another POC film) has an authentic story which speaks for itself... Spike Lee's BlackKklansmen had successfully shifted the image of Blackness and redefined it with iron. Listen y'all, I could go on and on.

But, we've all been slapped in the face with "White Savior Syndrome", once again. All that for a tired, overused rhetoric. All that for an adaptation that doesn't work (when individuals/families don't approve, don't make the film! It's common courtesy). But hey! The Academy thought it would be better to shove that tired "All Lives Matter" rhetoric down our throats. ((At the end of the day, I'm still Black. Bicurious, but I cannot say this to anyone IRL [primarily attracted to men]. Struggle with anxiety and depression once in awhile. Wanna see some real changes for marginalized groups on the big screen, and in future award shows.)) Yes, 2018 was a major breakthrough year, but please note that decent representation of Blacks and other marginalized groups had just started. We need to keep that going.

My understanding of Green Book is that the so-called story of a Black musician, even his memory, had been tainted. Remember the time when the Aaliyah biopic filmed without permission from the Haughton family and Aaliyah's estate? That's the same thing that happened to Don Shirley. If that's not enough, he never came out the closet to his family... And he's no longer around to defend himself. So there's another slap in the face. It shoved him into a corner (according to viewers, who got the impression that he should've been the main character), but a racist white cisgender man was whom the film primarily focused on, therefore turning it into a White Savior story. Unlike the Black titles that did so well, the definition of Black Power wasn't asserted in this particular movie. Just minimized, and that is a damn shame. It's a slap in the face to Black people, to allies of Black people, and it also pushes the horrific idea that anyone who identifies as LGBT+ (never came out to their families) will have their memories shunned long after they're gone.

I guess it's time to have separate award shows. You know, do it like segregation time in the 1960s, because The Academy failed.

We don't need another White Savior. Jesus wasn't White, either. Let that sink in for a minute.

"Best Picture of the Year" should've gone to another title, not Green Book. This is my two ten cents. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

In all seriousness, I've finished rewatching episodes 24 & 25. Episode 26 hit me right in the feels, though. It's pivotal to how I've felt for N'Jobu and Zuri while peeping the Black Panther movie a few days ago.

Yes, I have all the episodes and the movie. No regrets.

I know; last month was a messy one. Possibly the messiest of 2019 for me. Here's the thing:

I live in a thriving province that is currently torn between separating from and staying in Canada. I was also born and raised in a province that wanted to separate, but it's beloved won't allow it.

Both provinces hate each other today.

Some are also aware that I've had my fair share of trust issues with Canada's leadership, and the way some folks have voted. As a woman, I don't feel safe. As a Black person (Afro-Diaspora), my intelligence was insulted the moment Obama persuaded many to choose Liberals, even after Trudeau repeatedly did Blackface back in the day.

I don't know if I will still be working in January, but you know, Jason Kenney is onto something. I'm still rooting for Notley and the other dude who was fired from being the Elections Commissioner.

Y'know what? Me rambling like this is me piloting Wing Zero. I know who my friends and allies are, but I also see enemies the way Heero sees them. I yearn to steal vibranium from Wakanda so that no one will ever insult melanated folks on Canadian soil ever again - at least, Trudeau has another four years to do better and prove that he is truly apologetic for those stunts, no matter how long ago it's been.

The space colonies never wanted the Gundam pilots back... In the Ancestral Plane, Prince N'Jobu tells his son that Wakanda sees him as a lost soul; he won't be welcomed with open arms.

Quatre went all out destroying colonies... Heero saw everyone who toys with his life as mortal enemies... Killmonger sought vengeance against the entire world who took everything [he loved] away from him...

Yet, Zuri regrets the secret he kept, which turned Prince N'Jadaka into the monster he is. Colonel Une recognizes the flaws of following a certain agenda, and opens her heart to trusting the Gundam pilots for their bravery. Tsubarov killing her on The Lunar Base... I won't get into that, but she was hopeful. And Treize Khushrenada, the most influential figure in Romefeller, dropped out because OZ's plans didn't sit well in his spirit any longer.

This has left me wondering, even in the aftermath of Canada's elections and the sudden changes/broken promises to Albertans, if there are people out there who are aligned with Une? Treize? N'Jobu? Zuri? Meanwhile, this writer (the owner of this blog) has been struggling internally with her identity and watching these episodes/scenes made her feel like she had real people to talk to. If only for a moment, because they get it. They understand what senseless battles are.

Why are we pairing real people with the characters they portray? I came across this relationship tag while cross-posting one of my other WIPs. Nearly jumped out of my skin.

This screams "fetishization".

This is not discourse. Just a simple, what's going on and why are we allowing this?

I know I've written some snippets in the past where characters cross paths with actors who portray them, and I've read many cool fanfics within the past year where similar concepts are explored.

But the snapshot you see above? Not the best way to go about doing it. IJS.💯

While it's entirely okay to write RPF on AO3, it will always come down to how it's done. I'm trying to scratch this off, but if Tumblr ain't drunk and you see this, discuss.

GW Episode 44... Epiphany

Something about watching the characters and listening to their thoughts/responses gave me a boost of sorts.

When I look at Zechs, he's stubborn. Either that, or he has a stubborn approach to the battlefield. Aside from his fight against Heero (Epyon versus Wing Zero), Zechs also goes through a pause/freeze...

Which brings me to Relena. Her questions concerning whether she's embraced by the loving brother she knew, or the monster with blood-stained hands.

I've just literally seen facets of myself in the two of them. Relena's refusal to give up in her fight for what's right (note the gun Dorothy handed to her), and Zechs' ongoing theory of teaching Earth a valuable lesson if they don't move to space.

Just one of those moments.

Just comparing AO3 stats between 2017 (bottom pic) and 2018 (top pic). It's been a blessing! I know I'm one of the slowest writers you'll ever meet because of real life (it happens). Here's to hoping 2019 will be more accomplished, because I don't think I've truly reached my intended Writer Goals at all (which is consistency, marketing and enjoyment). So if I'm still here next year, I'll put in the effort.

For those that don't know, anxiety and depression is real. I think this has gotten a whole lot worse since August (the wildfires, hectic schedules, being a people-pleaser all over again at current position + family pressures at home, Tumblr's epic failure since CP and spam still exists + prejudice against adults in general. Facebook sucks massive cock. I haven't celebrated with The Arts Community. I feel too guilty to attend church anymore. I cannot share my fics nor original pieces with y'all on this platform either, because it'll get censored/hidden from your dashboards. I don't quite know where I stand anymore. I'm confused like Quatre and Wufei - at the same time, I don't feel as empowered as Nakia, Shuri and Okoye. I used to, but it's a huge difference before mid-August came around. Every day, as a Black person, I have to choose whether I will tap into my inner T'Challa, or my inner Killmonger... So I chose to separate myself from the hype like M'Baku.💯). Don't get me wrong, there's been a silver lining somewhere. It's hard for me to embrace it and accept it.

Where Pillowfort is concerned, I've chosen to block some tags. That's just ¼ of the list you're seeing. I'm already part of two Gundam Wing Communities, though - the members are quite chill (partly because we always party via Discord - and the vast majority of us are grown). We're getting used to the new platform and how it works. There are some similarities to Tumblr, but the differences outweigh the former. *(I'll explain this more later, in a different post)* Migration has been successful.

The Black Panther Communities I've seen... That's why I've blocked some tags in my filter blacklist box. There are some participants who [literally] ship the real actors together, and this is a big no-no. So I am putting this out there to inform y'all that, if I should start a 3rd Black Panther Community, I would. Tumblr is by far the only space where I've met a good balance of genuine fans. Facebook's version is bland and fake; Twitter's version shoves incest in your face (poor T'Challa and Erik 😞); FFN, or Fanfiction.net, has promoted the sexualization/silence of Black girls (i.e., Shuri getting raped and forced to marry her rapist). Even though AO3 (Archive Of Our Own) has these types of fics floating around, users on that platform have the freedom to filter tags and keywords they don't want to see. FFN doesn't offer that option, so what you see is what you get.

Don't be mad, these are my observations. This is strictly Real Talk 💯 stuff.

Anyone in the BP fandom - Tumblr's version - ever considers joining, let me know. *(Keep in mind that discourse is against Pillowfort's rules, so Lipstick Alley or TheShadeRoom ish will not be tolerated)*

I need to find out from Pillowfort admins how to obtain extra registration keys, so that none of y'all have to pay to register... Otherwise, setting up this new community can wait until Pillowfort is out of Beta (and open to the general public).

I used to ship 6×9 and 13×11 [still do]... Even 1×2 and 3×4 were cute [still are]... Now I do multiple ships and OT5+combos with 1+2+3+4+5 / 1×2×3×4×5. Gotta give the pilots some love! [Always and Forever]

Let's not forget Strawberry Ice Cream (1×5×2). They'll always be my favourite threesome, but I dig just about any combo (given they're well-written).

I still dig some 4+/×D(+3), 5+/×S, 2+/×H and 1+/×R on occasion. I don't mind anyone writing these at all. Speaking of het relationships, did someone compose a 1×D comic/fic? That was sexy as hell! I've also peeped a role reversal of sorts, 2×R and 1×H. That was also fly. Let's not forget 5×R and 5×H - these were pulled off quite well!

Lately (behind the scenes) I wanna make a triangle with Sally, Noin and Une. I also ship Dorothy and Relena. Can't help it, but part of me wants to see some more WLW. I'm super-duper relieved that pairings are a free-for-all nowadays (no more shipping wars).

Some pairings (depending on the circumstances) during my time in this fandom, I cannot dig. Not knocking anyone, but it's part of the reason why I've resorted to making Wufei and Trowa victims of grooming (and other questionable stuff) in Secret Magic. I'll eventually share more HCs in this regard, also considering that this fic (and Freedom Fighters, which is somewhat dark) are my outlets. Writing them should help fix my poor eating habits, and memories of other pains (my experiences, and other experiences I've witnessed).

//Off-topic, but I'm gonna keep it real//

Food are like drugs IRL. That's why I couldn't sleep right away after getting organized for bed last night (the family talk was about food addiction and other things). They affect my mood, and I've also noticed they trigger my depressive and anxious episodes for the past two months (shortly after Summer ended). So, I guess there's only a handful of useful solutions.

This month's challenge: No candies. Any left over will be demolished. Same for chips. Replace the urge with the bite of an apple (or any fruit) and water (everything goes with water).

While writing, explore the not-so-great parental relationships (FF & SM). Deal with silent memories and psychological effects of molestation/rape culture (SM). Bring the matter of bullying and cyberbullying to the forefront (FF & SM). Go hard in fighting internal battles (SM), and fail multiple times, reflect, and plant a new seed/formulate a new plan (FF & SM). [Sidenote: All the boys experience some messed up crap, but T and W have catatonic attached to them. Heero eventually gets groomed by his manager and pops pills to escape the regrettable memories (SM)... In another fic, he has to pull the trigger on one of his besties to gain his father's respect (FF - Peep that teaser in my Masterlist).] Well... The Angst Bunny is good in certain respects, y'know].

Anyways y'all, I'm officially out! Gotta take care of what the world has to offer. These are my latest reflections of the Gundam Wing Fandom.

Pfft. My anxiety has returned, and now I find myself in a spot where I am forced to spend ex-amount of money I don't have at the moment. I cannot share none of these to Twitter, and especially not Facebook!

Don't get me wrong, AO3 is cool beans, but things won't be the same. One of the biggest things I'm going to miss about Tumblr is the active exchanges. On AO3, all I see is numbers. On Tumblr, so much more is happening - as proof that real people are behind their keyboards and screens, every time they respond to fanfics (no matter how long or short). Silence doesn't always help creative minds, though. It sends mixed messages. I often wonder if sharing is really worth it.

That's the part I'm really going to miss. Active interactions in response to events, characters, plot twists, etc. Big time.💯
