10 Reasons why I think tech is alive and well…and evil
1. The looks
Besides the similar front part of their helmets, their stances and movements show a resemblance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. Fight movements
Right when I saw this scene it felt familiar to me and then I remembered this very moment of season one. It’s the same attack…
If Tech was forced through the clone x/assassin program, he would’ve been robbed of most of his individuality, like fighting with two blasters for example, while clone x was shown fighting with all obvious choices of weapons of his 99 brothers : sniper rifle, knife and hand to hand combat. They also could’ve shown him with a usual blaster…
3. Relying on Technology
There were multiple moments where clone x checked on his arm data pad, even after it was broken after the building collapsed and his reinforcements had already arrived.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
4. Voice / Noises
Sounds familiar? Tech is the only clone that has a visible British accent and there were definitely hints of that in clone x voice. Also the voice modulator seemed to be a little stronger than with the other clone assassins we’ve seen before, I wonder why…
And when you compare the grunts, they literally sound the same!
5. The height change
A few days into the third season of tbb Star Wars officially changed the height for tech and we all wondered why…. my theory is that they did that because tech's legs got injured after the fall and when the empire put him into the shadow assassin program his height went down to his new height.
Changed the height from 6’4 to 5’10
Tumblr media
6. “But crosshair would know if it was tech”
Probably, but would he tell them? It took him a good while to tell anyone about the information he has gained in his imprisonment..he is still hiding things and if he knows I believe he doesn't want them to know, fearing they would try to get him back and he has realised that there is no chance to do so...the program these clones go through is so much stronger than what the inhibitor chip was.
Also this scene hits a lot different, if it's actually techimplicating this could be a reference to crosshair choosing to stay with the empire instead of the batch at the end of s1
There is also a scene in tantiss where he looks back at clone x...
Tumblr media
7. THE PARALLELS
There were multiple parallels to significant moments and situations that
Tech went through.
- THE FALL sry to remind yall of plan 99, but clone x fell in that tower after crosshair shot his explosive and also in the waterfall fight.
- LIMPING after clone x got injured when the base collapsed, it was like the scenes in season 2 after a crate fell onto techs leg. Also important quote from this episode " I'm a survivor. Remember?"
8. This exact shot
the similarity of these specific shots is undeniable. And both when they come out of the water? Like?!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
9. He’s too pretty to die
No but for real, storytelling wise IT HAS TO BE someone important.my other guesses are Cody, another 99 clone or (brace yourself) a clone of crosshair, like an evil twin
10. Maybe I just miss him

Okay, hear me out I have a wild theory-
So Crosshair's hand tremors.
What if, and this is a big what if, what if he did something to himself to cause it?
(Spoilers for 3x06 and 3x07)
We now know that Hemlock was trying to force him into becoming a shadow clone, so what if, in a moment of retaliation and pure hopelessness, Crosshair did something to himself that would mean he wasn't able to do the one thing he was good at anymore.
After being a prisoner for so long, knowing in his heart that there was no hope for escape, he found agency in taking away the one thing he knew the Empire would use him for against his will.
Reclaiming that tiny bit of autonomy the empire could never take away from him as a final fuck you to being controlled and ordered around.
But now he's out. He needs his aim, he needs his arm and he's trying his best despite it all.
I love Crosshair.

So I hate to say this but I think wrecker is going to die. So when omega put those item in the artifact building . She was putting the batches artifact there tech glasses and the doll use to belong to wrecker. They will truly be artifacts when wrecker dies . This makes me super sad because he is my favorite . But I think it's forshadowing on how the series will end

Honestly, one of the sad and demoralizing things about season 3 episode 7 is that when Hunter tells Rex "You can't win this fight", he's right. Obviously, they should try to free the clones on Tantiss, and I think Rex, the Bad Batch, and some of their allies will be able to do so with some success; after all, we don't see or hear about clones after this (barring Rex, Gregor, and Wolffe in Rebels) so maybe they escape and disappear, and Palpatine not returning until the sequel trilogy series tells me that the projects on Tantiss will likely be disrupted or destroyed.
But we know that Rex and the others are not going to be able to beat the Empire. They can only do so much. The story is writ. I want The Bad Batch to have a happy ending so badly, but I'm guessing it's going to be more bittersweet than anything. After all, no matter what happens, our main characters are still going to be living in a galaxy ruled by the Empire, and I'm wondering if whatever happens in the final few episodes is what sends Rex, Gregor, and Wolffe into isolation.

Theory: The Clone X was not Cody like some people think or even Fives (I know he's been dead for a very long time but so was Boba Fett and look where we are. Plus, Echo was supposed to be certainly dead too; making him Winter Soldier-esque storyline wouldn't be that surprising) or not even Slick.
((Also, now that we've seen his face devoid of any tattoos or scars I think first two takes are definitely not applicable anymore; they wouldn't put that much effort to make him unrecognizable))
Back to the point: In my opinion, The Clone X was none other than...
Fox.
Now let me explain.
Who else, other than X, was loyal to the law and justice dictated by it over any moral or ethic code?
Fox.
Who else was portrayed with such single-minded focus on hunting down traitors of the government he served, regardless of what it was?
Fox.
Who else could know not only Coruscant so well but also identify Rex like they knew each other?
He already was a remarkably successful tracker of traitors, why not make him more efficient by pointing them out for him?
Good soldiers follow orders, after all.
#clone assassin#commander fox#star wars tbb#i know that hes got killed really early after Order in comics but i would honestly prefer him to die this way#the bad batch spoilers#commander cody#arc trooper fives#tcw slick#cc 1010#star wars#sw tbb#sw the bad batch#the bad batch season 3#tbb theory#we dont even know for sure how he looks like cause in one moment we see corries without helmets all of them have standard paintjob#idk if its just animation error but because of it we cant be 100% sure fox ever regreted it without him being shown grieving with rest#hes just taking a breath when fives is dying and personaly i see it more as him rolling his eyes that rex is being mushy with traitor#but there are 3 clones behind fox when hes shown and then the one taking off his helmet stands beside 2 others so it may actualy be it???#and if he DOES regret it imo is more in 'shame i had to do it' rather than 'shame i did it' way if you know what i mean#hes just doing his job and hes GOOD at it. not his fault that him being competent is bad for the good guys#my point is: outside of one page incomic that can be at any point made noncanon or recontextualized theres no evidence that it cant be him#they already retconed more important things. why not this?#i think its likely that in case im right we can assume that all named corries were made into CloneX#none of them appeared yet despite how much of action happens on coruscant#and only thorn died on screen; in a way preventing him from being viable option nonetheless#three hits point blank months before Order seem unlikely but theyve done weirder things so him returning wouldnt be THAT weird so uhh idk#but yeah cx-02 is tech#winter soldiering doesnt stop#i mean THIS could be fox/other corrie but it being tech is way too cliche oportunity to waste it on them (derogatory towards disney)#pls disney let corries hunt down traitors like they used to pls

I've seen a lot of theories about "Echo Base" and how it got its name, but hear me out.
What if Echo founded the base, lived a long life fighting against the empire, died peacefully in his sleep as an old man, and the base was named after him in loving memory?
What if Rex and Echo had a falling out? Obviously, it's called "Echo Base," not "Rex Base," so they must have separated.
Something happens that pulls Rex from the fight to retire with Wolffe and Gregor, right? What if Echo didn't want to leave the fight?
Echo's all like, "You can't quit now. You're Captain Rex!"
And Rex is already packing his fishing pole and says, "I used to be Captain Rex. Now I'm just Rex."
Then Echo throws some angsty shade, "Fives would've stayed to fight."
And then they part ways.
I just like this idea better than Echo, the hero of Anaxes, going out in some blaze of glory after they just begun the fight.

The freaking theory that the shadow clone is somehow a clone of crosshair bothers me so much you have no idea.
I understand that people try to find the answer that is not the most obvious but like isn’t it impossible to clone a clone ? Wasn’t there an arc in the clone wars that implied that they would run out of jango’s DNA eventually and the clone production would stop bc of that…
I guess it would be cool to have crosshair face an evil version of himself but it doesn’t really make sense to me because of what I mentioned above but also bc like the whole point of these series is to prove that every clone is a unique individual… idk it would feel wrong to me if they went into crosshair copycat mode :/
The theories I do like tho is :
if it was Cody that went under the reconditioning program and ensues a tragic death with Rex or something. It will break me but I do believe there’s something big like that that needs to happen for Rex to go into hiding and let go of the rebellion with his old geezers gang like we see in rebels.
Dogma because that would be a cool use of his character after all these years and because I do believe in the fact that the Star Wars team likes to reuse old characters that haven’t really had that big of a spotlight on them. We got to know a bit about him with the Umbara arc and it ended with a good character development but we never heard of him again like not even a mention… suspicious if you ask me or more like an opportunity for a « plot twist » that I could totally see.
Tech because I cannot accept that he would just die like that without having any kind of presence in the batch/the marauder like crosshair’s bretrayal did. We legit only had a small name drop and a glimpse at his googles which leads me to : why would hemlock look for him and only recover a personal item that means nothing to him ? If the techno union held on to echo’s body for years the empire and most importantly, a mad scientist hellbent on research and testing on clones, would definitely keep an individual with such a exceptional mind as tech’s for who knows how long.
Anyway I’m probably wrong because I usually am not that good at predicting stuff that happens in shows but I really don’t think it’s a coincidence that the shadow clones have voice modulators even after we got to see that these « assassins » are always clones. Also, some merch dropped with wrecker’s CT number implying that tech is ct-9902 and apparently it’s been confirmed that the shadow clone is the last episode is identified as cx-2… Coincidence, I think not !!! Merch has never lead me astray from guessing who dies and who’s important before so I will cling to this little bit of info until I am proven wrong XD

TBB SEASON 3 SPOILERS
So yeah, we don't know how the Bad Batch will end all we know(I think) is that the ending is ‘bittersweet’ (that's what I've heard don't hate me) but I just got a new idea and It could shake out for bad or worse.
Season 1 ended with Omega risking her skin—like everyone else has for her—for someone[AZI-3] that she cares about but ultimately fails due to circumstances(?) and her own weakness, she has to be saved by Crosshair.
Season 2 ended with Omega being helpless once again and unable to save a person she cares about[Tech] due to circumstances.
So that makes every season finale a loss for them. Every. Single. One. And that's discluding Omega’s kidnapping and the fall of Tipoca city.
So will this be the season that breaks the pattern? Or the one that fulfills it?
The hopeful ending is that finally, Omega can break this cycle and not be helpless like she has been in season 3 and finally be able to save the people she cares about.
But this isn't bittersweet. I think the bitter part will be Omega finally being independent and leaving The Batch.
The bad ending I think would be the cycle continuing and Omega is unable to save the person she cares about [Tech?]. I don't think this one will happen(maybe it's just naive hope).
These are just my thoughts, but I'm still worried.

Every week I hold out hope that Tech is alive. Between Maul being cut in half and surviving and Boba Fett being alive I still hope. As Jin said in rouge one “rebellions are built on hope”. Yet every time we get closer to the last episode, my hope dwindles.
Back when the season 2 finale happened and for a while there after I accepted that Tech was gone. I hated it so much but I accepted it because I just did. It wasn’t until I remembered Maul, how we never saw a body for Tech that I started to hope. Hemlock found his goggles, has a project called necromancer. It’s probably wishful thinking at this point.
However if Hemlock and the empire were to have one of the bad batch members be on their side, Tech would be the most prudent choice. He’s highly intelligent, well-versed in a multitude of technological advances, and not to mention, he probably knows his brothers like the back of his hand. Well, having crosshairs proved to be pretty valuable to them, Tech probably has a multitude of knowledge on not just his brothers, but on a wide variety of things. He’s been studying his brothers for a very long time. He probably knows all of their techniques and such. He’d certainly be a valuable asset to not just the empire, but to hemlocks scientific advancements as well.
On top of all of this, we have been putting an emphasis on this particular clone assassin from the episode with Rex and echo. This is the same one in that episode that was in this one taking over Pabu. Hemlock said he failed before. It has to be the same clone assassin. He’s come this far and we have put a huge emphasis on him. It has to be someone that we know, someone that once revealed could change everything. This assassin is not just a throwaway character. Not at this point.
I’d also like to point out that we never got to hear or see Omega tell crosshairs that tech died. We never got to see all of the Brothers properly grieve except for that short time that we saw before the empire took Omega. For him being such an important member of their team, being their brother it just seems like we kind of glossed over the grieving process a little quicker than we probably should have.
This is all speculation and me spit balling here as a Tech fangirl and Tech being my favorite bad batch member. But the more theories I read, the more I think about it the more I can’t help but wonder if he really is alive.
However, if he really is dead and he’s never coming back then I’ve accepted it once before I can accept it again I’ll just be really fucking sad about it. But until the last episode is over I’ll keep on hoping.

After rewatching The Bad Batch episode 3, I'm feeling that:
-for sure Ventress is one of the "specimens" in the Vault; who knows what other "dead" force users too *cough*macewindu
-those blood sample machines are mixing specimen and clone blood; Omega is not necessarily force-sensitive but her DNA supports a "successful m-count transfer"
-to protect her, clone force 99 will have to destroy Hemlock and the lab (meaning he won't be around to hunt Grogu in The Mandalorian), unleashing all the v strong and v angry "specimens" in the process (yay)

Mk need to get this out
So…episode titles for next week
“Identity Crisis” is sticking out to me. Obviously, “Point of no return” is very ominous, but this first one has me thinking.
I’m very sure CX-2 is going to show up, we haven’t seen him since the last two-episode drop and I think he’s bound to show up again.
Now, onto the title. “Identity Crisis” could be related to two characters. Either Omega, wondering about what her purpose is, or CX-2, regaining some memories perhaps? Maybe he’s questioning himself and directives, and the conditioning isn’t working anymore. Didn’t work for Crosshair, so on the chance CX-2 is Tech this would make a bit of sense. If it’s not Tech, the title could still relate to the identity of CX-2, and I think it might. Good chance it could be Omega as well. But the last time two episodes dropped, both titles were related/from the perspective of CX-2, so maybe these are as well? Maybe the “Point of no return” is CX-2 being unable to return to the Empire, now remembering who he is and what he has done. I think about this show way too much.

To all who are theorizing about CX-2 being a clone of Crosshair or something:
No disrespect to you or your headcanons, you can believe whatever you want, But to me??? Making a clone of a clone makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
It’s been established over and over that the kaminoans don’t create without a purpose. What would be the point of creating another Crosshair?? Just to mess with the batch? They have enough defective clones to worry about, and I don’t think personally traumatizing the Bad Batch is high on the Empire’s to-do list.
And when would they have even done this? Clones take time to mature, even at their accelerated rate. Cross wasn’t on Tantiss for that long, so there’s no way a clone of him could be an adult already.
And here come y’all in the comments “they could’ve done it on kamino! This could’ve been years in the making!” The Empire didn’t even EXIST that long ago and no one could’ve known the Batch would defect that early. Which brings us around again to why would they do that.
The theory just doesn’t hold up.
No offense to any of y’all btw, I know it’s all just fun trying to guess who CX-2 is. These are just my thoughts on the theory.
Anyway. It’s Tech. :P

Oh, hey! I have a worse Echo base theory!!
Mild spoilers/speculation ahead but nothing that wasn't in the first trailer.
So Fireball was revealed in the first trailer for S3, shooting at something/someone.
My nasty brain presented this:
What if the Clone HQ on Coruscant gets raided. What if Riyo Chuchi is there?
What if she gets shot at and Echo dives in front of her to take the shot. What if he dies in her arms, a heroes death, and they have to evacuate the rebellion to somewhere remote.
What if that place is Hoth, and she demands it is named Echo Base in memory of his sacrifice?
