My thoughts on the Ritsu&Shou related parts in the Fanbook

because I am kinda going insane.

The way ONE was able to melt all the gays down in one go should be studied, analysed and locked deep in the black void of Shou’s black shirt in the Cultural Festival scene in the manga, because there’s no way. 

As a warning, while I’ll be mostly talking about their relationship in terms of friendship anyway, I ship them, so this is kinda biased on this side of things. Enjoy what I have to say under the cut.

Okay, so, with the premise that the translations around on Twitter aren’t official so the info might not be 100% accurate, I am still more than willing to trust our beloved fantranslators and their hard work. Let’s actually begin this slide deep into the tunnel headed to Copium Land, shall we?

• To the question "Who are your friends, excluding your brother?" Ritsu just answers with Student Council Members and Classmates. And that we (readers) don't have to worry, since he has many people he can ask about the weather to. Now.

We... never see him hang out with his classmates, nor his Council members. Ever. Except for the whole S1 "Middle school criminals purge" fiasco and even then, it ended up with him breaking through the Student Council President Kamuro’s house. When I say Ritsu isn't normal, I mean it (go off, King). 

Ritsu is the same person who asked the other Psychic kids from the Awakening Lab their names only after they were all kidnapped. And solely for the sake of escaping. He... doesn't know how to socialize well or doesn't particularly care. 

To him, friends are ones he can ask the weather to. I honestly feel like, no matter how popular he is (mostly, due to his looks... let’s remember how he is the one among the kids in the cast who gets the most chocolate on Valentine’s Day, but he finds it a nuisance) he doesn’t really know how-to-friend and how-to-people. And partially, he isn’t too focused on that due to the many things he has going on. 

I truly appreciate the idea of autistic Ritsu, because it would explain many things tbh, and this difficulty of approaching others/making friends/even having a basic understanding of friendships and what they mean would be clearer. 

Now, onto Shou. We have two questions to take into account:

• To the "What do you like doing with your friends?" he answers mentioning only Ritsu. Not even the kids that call him leader in S2,nor any classmate. Just Ritsu. And he mentions how Ritsu doesn’t like crowded spaces and noise (I'll return to that later) and how they went fishing together and Ritsu didn't manage to catch anything. From this we have: 

THEY WENT FISHING TOGETHER. Even with the whole text thing later, Ritsu still cared enough to go out with him. Without Mob being involved at all. I think it's important. They canonically hang out together.

Shou cares so much that he wanted to go to a place where Ritsu would feel comfy. Fishing is probably not an activity Shou prefers among others. But Ritsu might appreciate it and that's enough. 

Ritsu is bad at fishing and this is honestly a fun detail lol. 

• Through the same question, we have the whole text bit with Shou saying he texts Ritsu from time to time, but Ritsu answers slowly/not frequently. So-

For one, Ritsu does answer. He is a busy person with Student Council matters and he is, yk. At the top 10 of the best students in the school, in his first year competing with third years. And yet, he still answers these messages. 

Shou goes to school THIS IS A WIN BTW I KNEW IT, Shou literally emits the energy of that one kid who is actually totally listening during class, remembers everything and gets damn good marks, called it. Anyway, Shou probably isn't a slow texter like Ritsu is and has another perception of time lol, not to mention how he probably isn’t as busy. Can relate to Ritsu here. 

They still text. That's pretty good in my book (copium). 

Again, noise. They should have 2012-13 flip phones and now, I have used them in the past, but forgive me, I forgot what I did yesterday, imagine remembering 2012 phones, but I believe they did have an option to turn off notifications. And with Ritsu disliking noise... it's no wonder he would. It also helps with studying. 

•  There was a question about the Cultural Festival bit. Shou says that Ritsu didn’t ask him to come personally, he just caught wind of it and thought “why not?”, which makes more sense now that we are 100% sure he goes to school. Honestly, it’s no wonder Ritsu didn't ask Shou to go and see him. He was uncomfy with that outfit and the whole Maid idea. But as soon as Shou caught on that, he just. Went. Without honestly any other reason if not to see him. Still fruity enough in my book. 

• Last but not least. Ritsu does call Shou a friend in the World Domination Arc. And, truly, I am not willing to believe they aren’t on friendly terms after them texting together, hanging out together (fishing) and Ritsu just... accepting Shou burnt down his house and going along with his plan without a second thought lol. Hence why:

Either Ritsu truly just doesn't know where to place Shou in his mind. Thinking back also on Shou's VA interview helps with this.

Or, since he was mentioned as a friend in Shou’s profile, ONE believed it would have been redundant to put him in Ritsu’s as well. Which I believe is actually a fair point, since Ritsu wouldn’t have added that much insight, knowing him lol.

Or, regarding them being established as friends in World Domination Arc... ONE forgor. And truly, it has been years since he finished that arc, and he has written so many drafts of manga (ONE PUNCH, the rest of Mob), the new upcoming one and all of the extras since then. Wouldn’t blame him.

There is also this little important DETAIL of ONE just casually mentioning he would like a spin-off with Ritsu AND Shou. Together. Can’t separate, idc.

And... gosh, I think this is all. Thanks to all the ones that translated the bits that came out with this book and Katya’s translations of all the other interviews! Between this, the whole deal with Teru (aka his freaking terrible fashion sense and especially his parents), Reigen’s family, Serizawa’s pay, a few peculiar ages being revealed... this fanbook has been a trip and a half. So the fun thing about horror is that it’s truly a diverse genre with many different places to start. I hardly feel qualified to make a rec list, because I feel like there’s still so much I haven’t seen??? So the below is by no means comprehensive, but hopefully it helps get you started! Also please feel free to talk to me about horror anytime, haha, I would love to know what you think if you get around to watching any of these.

The Classics: -The Blair Witch Project. The inception of found footage horror. -Halloween. The first slasher I ever watched. John Carpenter made this on a shoestring budget and the behind-the-scenes story is so fun. Plus, Jamie Lee Curtis’s breakout role. -Candyman (1992). Tony Todd is so sexy in this, but also it’s a great horror story about the power of myth, and an exploration of racial dynamics in Chicago. -Poltergeist. Has its issues but ultimately a very fun movie about a family working together to try and rescue their daughter from evil spirits. There’s a very famous scene with a clown doll. You’ll know it when you see it.

Women and horror: -The Perfection. Queer and deeply messy. An exploration of how art can still be used as a system for abuse. Tw: implied sexual assault, self-harm. -Ginger Snaps. Explores the struggles of two teenage sisters via werewolf metaphor. Love this one. -The Witch. Ominous and atmospheric. The horrors of being a girl raised in a religious fundamentalist family. -Jennifer’s Body. A cult classic that’s been validated/revisited in more recent years. Also queer and messy. Transplants the dynamics of teenage girl best friends into a horror movie setting. -The Babadook. Queer internet icon, but also an exploration of mental illness and the horrors of motherhood/the fear of being a bad mom. -The Descent. Do not watch this if you’re claustrophobic. A group of women go cave diving and discover creatures lurking beneath the earth. I think of certain shots/scenes from this movie often. -Black Christmas (1974). A sorority house is stalked by an unknown killer over the holiday season. Probably the one slasher that still scares the hell out of me, mainly because of how it chooses to depict its killer. Also more political than you’d think, featuring an abortion subplot in the 70s no less. -Us. Lupita Nyong'o should have won an Oscar for this one. -Hereditary. Ari Aster has his flaws as a filmmaker (who doesn’t) but this movie is like……really good. Toni Collette knocks it out of the park. Tw for GRAPHIC depiction of child death and suicide. Movies that personally scared the hell out of me: -Oculus. The fun thing about horror as a genre is that everyone has specific tropes that personally freak them the hell out. This movie dug its nails into one of mine and would not let go. -Parasite. People will probably argue that this is not a horror movie so much as a “thriller” but this movie felt like a borderline panic attack and filled me with despair, and if that ain’t horror, I don’t know what is. Sci-fish horror: -Nope. I really think this might be Jordan Peele’s best movie. Two fantastic lead actors, and dense with ideas, worth watching more than once. -Alien + Aliens. Sigourney Weaver should be enough of a selling point. The first two movies are famous, and they fully live up to the hype.

Personal faves: -Trick ‘r Treat. I watch this every October. A ton of fun. -The Lost Boys. 80s vampire camp, and kinda gay tbh. -Francis Ford Coppola’s Dracula. This film is darkly, gorgeously sumptuous. Just a spectacle of practical effects and costuming, and I highly recommend checking out the behind-the-scenes features. -The Silence of the Lambs and Manhunter. Lambs being my problematic fave for years. Manhunter is the best adaptation of Red Dragon hands down (no disrespect to NBC’s Hannibal.) -Rear Window. Because while Psycho is good, it’s also a problematic fave. Plus Rear Window was the first Alfred Hitchcock movie I ever saw, and it holds a special place in my heart for that alone. -The Invitation. The most uncomfortable dinner party in a film I’ve ever sat through. A slow burn for sure, with a terrifyingly good payoff. A movie about grief, unreliable narrators and primarily, the horror of no longer knowing people as well as you thought you did. Tw for suicide/self-harm. -Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight. I adore the first few seasons of the Tales from the Crypt TV series, but you don’t need to watch any of the show in order to enjoy this standalone movie. It’s silly. It’s gross. Billy Zane is having the time of his life as the villain, plus Jeryline is one my fave final girls in horror. -Hellraiser (1987). I adore Clive Barker as a writer (if you like to read horror too, please, PLEASE check him out) and I love that he got to direct his own feature film. This movie is gross, horny as hell, and unlike anything you’ve seen before. Misc recs: -Jacob’s Ladder. Surreal, nightmarish and tragic. Hard to talk about this one without giving too much away. Would recommend going in blind and letting it unfold. -Possession. This movie is Nuts. Even harder to talk about this one. Isabelle Adjani especially carries this film with her performance. -Barbarian. Probably my favorite new horror movie I watched last year. An examination of rape culture that didn’t feel exploitative (rare in horror.) Also some of the most bizarre plot twists I’ve seen. Go in blind. -American Psycho. Still my favorite role of Christian Bale’s to date. Funny: -Tremors. Horror is a fantastic space for practical effects, and it’s really, really hard not to love all the work that went into operating the giant worm puppets. Also hard not to love the queer platonic partnership between Kevin Bacon and Earl Bassett’s main characters. -What We Do in the Shadows. Also rec’ing the TV show, but the original film still holds up and is funny as shit. Animation: -Perfect Blue. Satoshi Kon is one my favorite creators of all time, and this was the first feature film he made. Tw for an implied/simulated rape scene. -Paranoia Agent. Not a movie but an 11 episode anime series, also from Satoshi Kon. A mixing of genres, but tied together with a horror-themed premise and tone. I fucking love this show.

I don’t know if they’re available internationally as a streaming service, so it might depend on what country you’re in? But if you’re looking to get into more horror, I would def recommend checking out Shudder. They’re strictly horror-focused, with a wide variety of film and TV, plus they’re only 5 dollars a month!

I would also suggest checking out a great book called, “It Came From The Closet”, a collection of essays on horror movies from queer and trans writers.

will: gay! he loves boys and wants to kiss them and marry them and make his own place in the world with one. he has always known this and has never had the privilege of not knowing this. he is Very Gay and the love he feels for one boy in particular makes him feel like he isn't a mistake at all.

mike: gay gay homosexual gay of the homotron 6000 variety. "whether you love what you love or live in divided ceaseless revolt against it, what you love is your fate" sums it up perfectly. he can't escape his heart and the truths it holds, no matter how hard he tries sometimes. following it is instinctive and the best thing he's ever done, yes, but it can also be very hard to adjust your eyes to the light after living in the dark for so long.

el: i don't think she's too keen on labels. she's sure of her attraction to women, feels safer with them and has always thought they were pretty, but she isn't totally sure of her attraction to men. sometimes she thinks she does like them, sometimes she thinks maybe she just expects herself to or wants them to like her (which isn't the same thing). it all just depends on the person. she doesn't want to rule anyone out. show her love and maybe she'll show you some in return, too. i also hc that max was her sapphic awakening hehe. she made her feel so loved, so seen and cherished, that she wondered for the first time if she could love a woman like that. her answer to that of course was, well... why not?

dustin: this post. overly enthusiastic straight ally friend that vows not to get married until everyone can get married. would 100% wingman for you unprompted. tries to set everyone around him up and talks about their love lives with the same ease that he talks about his own. love is love and all that shit, you know.

lucas: "straight" but with a hint of unearthed bisexuality in him. he assumes everyone thinks people of any gender can be handsome and pretty. he's a devoted, kind, and attentive person, so his platonic and romantic crushes aren't too distinct; and as such, he's just never caught on and no one's ever assumed anything either. mike gushes to him about will and lucas is just like "??? and this is a big deal, because...? 🤨 we all have eyes, mike." mike gets so caught up in lucas thinking will is attractive + his resulting slightly possessive outburst that he forgets to focus on the "lucas thinks men are attractive, too" part. i mean, he grew up around mike and will, fell for a tomboy, and erica jokingly calls jason his boyfriend. that boy has bi potential, but is living in blissful ignorance. (max sometimes wants to burst his bubble, but decides he'll get there on his own someday. ...eventually, maybe.)

max: bisexual! she doesn't mention it, but if you somehow assume she's straight then tbh that's on you at this point. (tomboy gnc max from s2 you will always be famous.)

jonathan: jonathan talks a lot about bowie, likes his music, is way too passionate about being a "freak", doesn't care to be normal and isn't, gets called queer, and has always encouraged will to be true to himself. he's either the best straight guy on planet earth + best honorary member of the lgbt community + the best straight gay icon or he's pansexual but quiet about it because it's not exactly like he's a hot commodity so he mostly just doesn't really focus on it. he has bigger fish to fry anyway.

argyle: mr "try before you deny" with his rainbow socks that humbled mike immediately after he broke will's heart is undoubtedly pansexual, too. why do you think him and jonathan bonded so fast? birds of a feather flock together, man.

nancy: sorry, but she's straight.

steve: also straight. i have eyes, okay? joe is not leaning in to the fruitiness of his male scene partners lol.

Right???? I feel like people who write/draw for fandom, myself included, get so wrapped up at times with the amount of kudos/comments and when we don't see 'big' numbers it feels disheartening or our fics aren't good enough but from what I've learned (and previously being a silent reader myself, I'm trying to make that up by kudoing and commenting on the fics I read now/read in the past) I just have to remember that even though you might not see numbers you never know how many people have come across your fic and enjoyed it. That's why no matter how bad I'm feeling about my fics I won't take them down because I know the feeling of loving a fic so much and coming back to it but it has been deleted (the heartbreak is real 💔😭). It just amazes me how many people are touched by fandom

True, true. I'm honestly the same way. That 'all of the above box' has already been checked off a long time ago. Give me any character that I think is hot turn them something that's not exactly human and I'm like a fish to a worm on a line, hooked on for life lol. Which reminds me I'm still planning to comment on your Wrapped In His Coils Fic, the way you wrote knives has me 🐍🛐, don't even get me started on his courtship with reader, I have ascended tbh 🌌✨, I just haven't had the free time to comment (I typically set time aside to specifically comment on fics, idk if it makes sense but I try and give authors my 100% attention when commenting) and I'm so backed up on commenting on fics rn. Slowly working my through that 💪🏼

BG3!!! I know who you are talking about, that specific character is not my cup of tea (not because he turns into a bear, I personally don't find him attractive) and I know the scene you're talking about (I haven't went that romance route but I've seen videos about it) but I'm definitely down deep in the BG3 hellhole 😂. Same, I didn't watch Venom and know little about it but from what I do know people have written monsterfucking fics about it since one of them is an alien??? I didn't realize people have gone as far as putting 'monsterfuckers dni' but protect you peace I guess. Oooffff you really called me out with that vampire x human. Surprisingly, I wasn't into vampires before but I see the appeal now and let's just say I don't plan on leaving (which makes it really obvious who my fav bg3 character is). An og story!!!! And vampire boy band!!!!! 👀👀👀👀. Yeah, I agree you just have to find who you vibe with and leave who you don't

Oooooo, gotta love those possessive traits. I'm so weak when it's the male's job to woo the females, that boy gotta work for her. It's so interesting that in the end the female may not choose the male that has 'performed' the best and go with a 'lesser' male. Omg, you just made me fall in love with them even more with all the lore 💗

Honestly, whenever you post them to ao3 or here on tumblr I'll see it. I subscribed to your ao3 so I get notified when you post something new 🥰. Any trigun fics, could be vash/reader, knives/reader, or vash/reader/knives. Currently I keep drifting in between being in the trigun fandom and out of it so I don't have it listed as one of my main fandoms on my profile but I still occasionally read trigun fics (I don't actively look up trigun fics but when my fav trigun authors, and yes your one of them, updates or posts a new fic I'll read it).

These days I'm more active on my side account (this one, which is basically just a big x reader fandom account) so I haven't written any current fics on these particular fandoms but I do have a million wips (the curse of being a fanfic author). On my other account I mainly wrote angsty fics that had little to no comfort but now I find myself leaning towards writing about things that I find hot, may or may not have 'darker' elements to it/considered toxic but I've fallen for those manipulative/mind game vibes. I don't think they are that bad but others might not agree, I guess it all depends on how you feel about the source material/character. Now that I think about it there definitely is a theme with all these characters....

Oh, for real! XD I'm sooo guilty of that! But yes! I have to remind myself that I too was a silent reader for sooo long, only commenting when something moved me strongly enough that I had something I really wanted to say (never negatively. I don't think I've ever left anything mean on any fic or piece of art as far back as I can recall, but I did have those 'YOOO!! This was so crazy good aaaaa-' type moments when I did comment. And I had a fic make me sob during lunch break at work and wrote them a comment saying that that particular chapter broke me). I am currently doing that too! I've been trying to steadily go through my bookmarks, re-reading them and seeing which ones I haven't commented on (which is a lot) and leaving them comments as I go back through. There's so many fics I lost from my bookmarks when I deleted my past accounts, and I gotta find and read those again. There are so many good fics in the world! Ah, I know that feel so much. :') And I'm so glad you leave them up, because I always have to remind myself there are so many fandoms that I came to years after the initial hype died down, and as long as the fics are up and Ao3 stays up, someone could find that fic five, ten, fifteen years from now, and maybe even when they need it most. Maybe it could make them laugh, make them smile, make them feel seen, or help them have a good healthy cry.

But aaaa- I feel so bad about all the fics I still have not re-uploaded and the ones I probably won't. 😭 I've deleted so many accounts in the past, and I know it must have been so rough on my readers to have me disappear again and again, because I've been told already by a few people that they were so sad I deleted everything (and some even cried! D':) But… Some of my very old works, I do not consider to be all that great and some were even offensive as they were written by impressionable little ol' grade school me, so if I do re-upload,… They'll have to go through heavy revisions seeing as these were made when I was just starting in the 2012-14 range. And I know it's so heartbreaking to have a fic you really loved just suddenly go missing. I've been there. I even had a fic that I adored and the person who wrote it decided to delete it all and re-write it and to my knowledge, still has not re-written it. :'( It was so heartbreaking because I loved it the way it was and I can't even re-read that version anymore. I have so many works that I just never finished, and I don't want to delete everything again anymore, I want to give them satisfactory endings. I don't want people to feel that sadness anymore from me.

So it's really disheartening to see someone think a fic of mine is abandoned after a couple months of no updates. I really do wanna finish everything I post given the chance! I'm determined to start finishing more things! For real! It's so crazy that, as a reader, I have so many works that were life-changing or that I think about to this day and revisit often, and yet… It's so bizarre to think that my fics are those kind of fics to someone right now. When I tell you the shock I had upon having someone immediately kudos and comment on a fic I just posted not like, half an hour ago (PurpleDragonAzile, you're a real one! Wtf!) was real on the fifth of this month,… Younger me never could have imagined my fics would touch so many people… All she wanted to do was write fics other people could enjoy because reader-inserts brought me joy and I wanted to write for characters who didn't get much love or ideas that no one else had done from what I'd read, and now here we are… I've achieved that, and still am.

I didn't even know about the statistics page on Ao3 for the longest, and now that I do, it's crazy how unloved I felt some of my stuff was, having only a handful of bookmarks or none compared to a disproportionate amount of kudos only to find there were so many people I did not know about also enjoying my stuff who'd privately bookmarked or subscribed, and then reminding myself that those guest kudos mean something too. That's that many people who liked it enough to press that button, and there's a chance that those kudos could also be multiple given by the same person who enjoyed it that much, and to think there could even be people reading and keeping up with my fics who do not even have an account... It's crazy. Sometimes I just look at my stats and laugh in disbelief and all these nice comments I've received and say, 'Ya'll are crazy (affectionate)' Damn, guys. :') I love every single one of you. You're amazing. To think my works could inspire ya'll and make you happy and laugh and cry out of joy or sadness,... It's crazy. I wish the best for all of you wonderful people. This is the best I could ever ask for. Little ol' me has come so far in these 12 years of writing, and I feel I can die content in this department of life.

Oh, same! XD Haha! I looovee monster AUs! AAaa! Writing, reading, don't care, love them all. Oh. 👀 Rest assured I will be screaming and kicking my feet in joy the moment I get it. Hopefully I can have an update soon and respond in bulk to what's been sitting in my inbox the longest. ToT I feel so bad for taking so long sometimes. But I'm making quite a bit of progress on some of these fics, so with luck I can hit my little goalpost and update/post something for each week and finally give some of these comments responses while I'm at it! Aaa- X3 I'm glad you enjoy it! It was so fun to write and took me sooo long because it ended up way bigger than I first thought it might! XD I had so much in me for that one! It was so fun to write him starting to get all affectionate and being like, 'Why won't you just move in with me?!? >:'(' And I kept making myself laugh with all the little commentaries that I'd put in notes form. If ya'll could see some of the stuff I have in my notes rn for some of these fics… You might get as much of a kick out of it as I do. (Oh, take your time! I won't ever be mad if you don't comment! It totally makes sense! I do the same thing, really. I set up a little goal for myself to read and comment on a chapter/fic per day, and while I've fallen behind, I don't want to rush it. I wanna wait until I have the opportunity to not only enjoy the fic and not feel rushed, but comment on everything I adored about it and point out my favorite parts.) Oh, same! 😭 349 bookmarks to shift through, and I think I've only commented on maybe ten or so? And that's not all of what I had bookmarked before. I had so many… And that's not counting all the ones I might read and enjoy that I haven't before while going through all of these. But I'm determined! And I'll be able to enjoy them all all over again too!

(Oh, I've felt that with some games you could romance peeps in: Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Dragon's Dogma,...) Oh boy! XD I've only played Alliance (I actually bought it again for my Switch because I loved it so much as a pre-teen. Morning Star I found in the crypt, my beloved), but what I've seen of BG3, it reminds me a lot of Dragon Age. The thirst I see for Astarion is real. Yeah. XD That's basically it lmao! People ship Eddie (human host) and Venom (alien who doesn't like to be called parasite but kinda is), but I have read some very good Venom fics! One in particular I find super hilarious and was such a fun read. The swan dive tag alone had me. It's called Under Your Skin by IndiraIshra. Their notes kinda makes me wonder if I should do something like that for some of my fics because I loved the idea and their contents so much. XD So funny. Oh, me either! But apparently someone has from what I've read! XD Hehe. Oh, same! For the longest I was more the werewolf type, but I ended up gaining an appreciation. <.< Certainly a certain Digimon wasn't to blame for that for me in high school cough cough (Oh? 👀 I don't know enough about it to know which BG3 character, but now I know they're a vampire!) Yeah! :D XD Good ol' Annalise and her vampire boyfriend Dimitri and his vampire bandmates. Yep! :D I used to get a little sad about blocking people, but… Sometimes you just don't vibe.

ASdfhj- Possessive and jealous fictional characters my beloveds. X3 Oh, yes, same! I was so taken by the idea of their species also trying to win favor with gifts, anything from food to things that caught their eye (flowers, lost lockets and jewelry, buried relics from the past like ceramics, human items either lost or stolen, pretty rocks, etc.). Oh, for real. 👀 Thank you, I'm glad! :'D Yeah, I'm a little bummed I couldn't make it plot relevant enough to add in some of this stuff, but I really did like the idea of sometimes the females just prefer the attitudes or mannerisms of the 'lesser' male over the one that 'outperformed' them. It's also highly frowned upon if the male who 'lost' in this scenario can't take his L in a gracious manner. So, if he in any way shows aggression towards the male the female has chosen, she may threaten him with a growl and show of fangs or even attack him if he decides to get hostile with the winning male. Mated couples are often highly affectionate and caring towards each other too, partaking in grooming habits, tending to each other's wounds, and cuddling up in the colder months whereas hotter temperatures often lead to them sleeping on separate ends of the nest. And they'll take different watch times when the chicks are born and go on family walks and exploring ventures to let the chicks play and also to teach them about the world around them. Which, I could totally add onto those stories going more into family life stuff like this. X3 It's certainly tempting!

I will warn you though, the first two in The Project Series will just be Stampede Vash and Knives as their normal species (but with Vash having the appearance of late episode 11 early 12), but everyone after will be other monsters/creatures. XD Oh, I feel that! I drift a lot between fandoms and my current character interests. (aSfjas0g- Aww! ;v; Thank you! TvT I'm honored! I haven't really looked up Trigun fics as of late, but I did look through all that were there sometime before Stampede released and peeked in occasionally, but I haven't really kept up as of late. Aemond not giving a fuck about the people at the party who could see him, kissing the boy that shattered his world and stole his heart in 3 seconds while looking at fish. being immediately drawn to him asking him if he could kiss him Luke being all shy and a little shit about it. Aemond going out of his way just to see him again risking absolutely everything to kiss him again and be with him. Then learning he is a Capulet being torn with the decision he has to make and choosing love. Aemond doing everything he can to marry Luke as soon as possible, convincing the priest and all that shit meanwhile he’s known Lucerys for 1 day. 

Mercutio as Aegon (rocking the sparkly outfit as he fucking should) he is dramatic, he is feminine, he is a bit mad, he his very pretentious, and a tad jealous of seeing Aemond’s attention being stolen and Aemond’s bestie. His death makes Aemond absolutely FERAL with rage and grief seeking vengeance, scaring the hell out of Jake with a madness he has never seen in anyone eyes, then kills Jake without any mercy just rage (while Luke is out there dreaming about his marriage and making out with Aemond again not giving a shit about the family feud)

Luke horny as fuck on their wedding night waiting for him, then proceeds to learn of  his cousin death’s, crying about it and afterwards having the best sex of his life.

Oh Ryen! Summer Bbq just- urgh! I'm making incoherent noises once I finished reading it. Idk how to put it into words, this is just like a normal scenes that we can get in any summer movies or novel yet the way you put it into words, the details, the way you describe it, the way you play with your sentences and words, you make this extraordinary. I love how you made simple subject, a backpack, act of taking something from a backpack to be so special. And when you mentioned there's two kitchen paper rolls by the grill, my heart warms. It's just an excuse! That man just wanted to see you! I love the tensions, I love how reader was in this Summer bbq. I love all the subtle but not so subtle acts they did here. And I love how the girls are with each other. I love the kissess and I love how they just can't get enough of it. I love it when reader ran back for another one. I took time to watch the first season of “All Work No Play”

And then, after that, because a) I have no self-control b) I felt like I was missing on a lot of stuff c) I just could listen to Sam and Liam fuck around and talk about themselves and their lives for forever ??? d) I saw a Tumblr post detailing the facts we learn on the original “All Work No Play” episodes and just could not believe what I was reading... I listened to the original “All Work No Play” podcast only.

So under the cut, details of what I thought of each episode, and the glorious run of the 15 episodes podcast that started it all, really. But yeah, contrary to my preferences, it does not follow chronological order. Which is fine, because if there was a way to describe this experience, it's "drunk delightful clusterfuck", in my humble opinion.

Sword fighting : the start is awkward, the middle is epic, the end is awkward. So yeah, on parr with the rest. I do love a good pun, so the whole knighting sequence was hilarious to me : "I knight you Ser...Pent, Ser... Cumvent, Ser... Vival." I love Will Friedle dry sense of humour and wish we've seen more of him. The mini-movie was awesome ! Put some swords into actors' hands and it does not matter if they were bad at sword fighting (they weren't !), they will sell it with yells and tragic death scenes.

Tap Dancing : Sam doing the worm in that stupid colorful costume... I was expecting no less of him. Liam has NO coordination, this is true, and again demonstrated it in this episode. Courtenay Taylor was a necessary addition, because she knew what she was doing, and her "mom jokes" were unexpected and dry and hilarious. Sam tells the story of the birthday of Macaulay Culkin, whom he went to school with, and the birthday was this : they were in the biggest toy store in New York, which was privatized, and for 10 minutes all the kids could run through the alleys and get any game and toys they could want. Liam, hearing this story of privilege, boiling inside : "It is super fucking hard to be your friend and love you. I try and I try, and everyday you make it a little bit harder."

Rage Room : Liam can run a half-marathon (I'm not surprised), Sam can't (I'm not surprised). Sam is a night pooper and Liam a morning pooper and they both like to take this time to destress. Liam looks at the stars alone at night when in his backyard (relatable). Sam does not feel stress in general because he's weird. Rage room was fun but not as cathartic as the name would suggest, I think it's because rage cannot be in a controlled environment. But Stephanie Sheh was so fun, and seeing the bass fish get destroyed was nice. Also Sam has no darkness inside of him, and maybe he has no soul ? I would watch Sam and Liam take ayahuasca in Brazil, tbh.

Goat Yoga : this is a thing. Call me stupid, but while I think Yoga is a real thing, I think Goat Yoga is a scam and brings NOTHING to Yoga. But the goats were cute !! We learn that Sam got high with Snoop Dogg on his first week in L.A., that Liam once got arrested because he was too busy rehearsing a scene with an object that was not even a fake gun outside and being too good at it to notice the neighbors were calling the cops. And I'm just going to leave this quote here : "She's an anal sniper. She aimed my ass right at the cameras."

Creature Makeup : I barely recognized Alex Ward from the Elden Ring one-shot (he was so good in it), he seems really talented in his specialty. We learn that Sam nearly got himself killed by locking himself in a coffin and discovering after someone was sitting on it, and that Liam's aunt once saw her long-gone father talk with her child in the rearview mirror. Sam and Liam do want to make out with each other while wearing makeup that makes them look like the other. After hearing Sam talk about how snot accumulated in his latex mask, I do not want to do Creature Makeup personally anymore. But I do want to see the movie for which they shot the trailer !

Fire Spinning : Ok ok ok, I am but a simple wee lesbian, Marisha doing the fire spinning did things to me. Just hearing Sam and Liam talk about how cool she is and how she always has the best style is wonderful. What we have learn : Sam technically committed apostasy since he converted to Catholicism but "crossed his fingers the whole time", and on his wedding night he hurt himself so much by stepping on glass (Jewish tradition) that he had to go to the ER after.

Mame Cabinet : Felicia Day !!! I love Felicia Day. We learn that Sam might have more of a chance to develop Alzheimer’s thanks to his t-rex arms. Why was this the most emotional episode yet ? I don't know but the hug Liam gave Sam almost made me cry.

The Hot Tub with, like 12 people : Ok this was just fun as hell. I want to do this with my friends all the time !!! We learn that Courtenay CAN do the cherry trick of tying it up which is HOT, the S'mores Martini takes a century to do, and that the censored nipples of Liam are Sam's pixel face. Thanks Twitch !!

The original podcast : They're so young (it starts at December 2012)! Travis and Laura are mentioned on the very first episode, and so's Liam fear of skydiving. Malaysia is mentioned on episode 2, also Kit Buss ! Episode 2 is where they decide to do a “Laura Bailey harp music”, after they talk about how great she is. Also Sam and Liam are excited because they've decided to play D&D together, and mention Matt and his glorious hair. Sam asks Liam to pick his race and class : "- Can I just be the worst ? - You could be... A gnome !" I CAN'T BELIEVE I HEARD IT LIVE, THE INCEPTION OF SCANLAN SHORTHALT. Episode 3 is the recap of said session of D&D, and you know what's better to hear them screaming into their mics that they loved it so much ? A FREAKING EXCERPT OF THE VERY FIRST SESSION THEY PLAYED TOGETHER ! (there was even Marisha, who was - if I understand - helping Matt and not playing). Episode 3 is also the episode where we learn that if they were abandoned on an island, Liam and Sam would start to fuck "immediately" according to Liam, "48 hours later" according to Sam, who wants to search for help and shelter before fucking. I love the guests they brought in occasionally : it's so good to hear Mary Elisabeth McGlynn, to discover Jennifer Hale who's chill and funny and Roger Craig Smith who seems insane and is also funny as fuck, and to hear Travis and Laura bickering sweetly. Episode 6 is where we learn the very cursed fact that Liam did gymnastics when he was young, and was pretty flexible, so much in fact that he "could reach it" (Sam, not understanding, at first : "You could reach it ? what do you mean..."). About episode 7 I think this is where their lives became much more complicated ; from this one, I just love the recurring "we promise we're gonna do a podcast next week !" only to have the episode after that dated 3 or 5 months later. I loved the episodes they did at conventions, the questions and horrific and convoluted scenarios they put their friends through were funny. Episode 8 is where we learn that Sam's first and only fight, that he WON, was over tickets for Dave Matthews Band. "- We'd obviously like to nail Travis Willingham. - Of course !" Poor Travis ; in the episode with Roger Craig Smith, when put through a horrific scenario of a plane crash in the snowy mountains, he says "I immediately eat Travis Willingham" to the choices offered by Sam and Liam. That does not seem to deter him, since he later admits All Work No Play is his favorite podcast in the world, and he has listened to all the episodes. They do talk a little bit about Critical Role once they've launched the ship in 2015, mainly how is has changed their lives already. By Episode 13, they're not sure of what the format is anymore, and they nearly start reading their e-mails live. We learn that Liam has worked with Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford, and how he was very turned on by Harrison Ford. He also likes Gwendoline Christie “because she seems like she could wreck me, with weapons.” (fair). We learn that when Travis was courting Laura, he wanted to be on her level, so he read the books she was reading at the time... which were the Twilight books : “I've read. Every. Single one of the Twilight Books ! And because there were werewolves, at the end... I kinda liked it.” He went by himself to go see the third movie ; Laura wouldn't go with him because she thought the movies were so bad. By the way, the sound effect for Travis is SO ridiculous, and retrospectively I'm laughing so much more because of Travis Willingham's Yeehaw Game Ranch. Episode 15 is really the end : the show has no format anymore, it's either them reviewing cat videos or them doing podcasts recommendations to each other. But Liam and Sam still talk about their kids with incredulity and so much love. We learn that Liam wants his daughter to learn how to kill a man, to protect her, because he knows “98,7% men are terrible”. We end with a cliffhanger : “Hey, Liam, are we gonna get tattoos ?” Really, what more could you want ?

Overall, the podcast holds a charm from the not-so-distant past who is incomparable. But the VIDEO revival can allow so much more ! They did so many activities, some of them dangerous. Also the editing of the videos is a plus, because it allows things like "let's put cards on the screen to directly contradict what bullshit Sam and Liam are saying", or "Yeah, FAO Schwartz is definitely gone". I'm really glad I discovered another piece of the house that is Critical Role.

8. Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

I'm going to go with a dialogue scene right from the beginning of Call For a Date, (Don’t) Fall in Love because Alex is so delightfully grumpy as he's laying on the carpet, Bobby and Reggie are chaos incarnate, and Luke is his eager, idiotic self, trying to get their attention. Tbh, I'm proud of all the dialogue scenes in that fic because I think I've nailed the whole 'other things are happening while they talk' thing in there pretty well. But this dialogue has some of Alex's best lines just because afterwards he meets Willie and becomes a pathetic gay mess.

Alex snorts. Count on Luke to ask a question like that when they’re all sweaty and gross!

Ever since he started working out and wearing progressively less fabric on his body, Luke’s become a bit vain. He might not even be aware of it but Alex sure has clocked him checking himself out in every shiny surface that crosses his path, flexing his muscles. Though Alex has to admit that those muscles are nice to look at. 

“Yes, Luke, you’re hot,” Bobby says in a long-suffering tone.

But Luke ignores him. “And we’re all nice, right? Like, decent and stuff?”

“You want a fucking medal for that?”

Alex has no idea where any of this is going but wherever it is, he’s not interested in the weird workings of Luke’s mind right now. He’s busy becoming one with the carpet after all.

“Well, someone’s not being very nice right now.”

Reggie smirks fondly in his direction and Alex replies via fuck-you eyeroll but Reggie just laughs.

Bobby unwraps a new stick of gum, casually flicking the paper in Alex’s direction only for it to land in his own half-drained glass of iced tea. He pulls a face and fishes it out again. Alex smirks. Serves him right!

He gets hit in the forehead with a sodden ball of paper two seconds later.

14. What’s the worst writing advice you’ve ever come across?

Every advice that is too rigid and tells you exactly what to write/how to write and what to avoid is bad advice in my opinion. I find it far more important to know what effect different things have then whether or not to use or avoid them. Because then you can 'break the rules' on purpose.

But a specific one would be the whole 'said' scare about how you absolutely have to avoid that word and instead use increasingly ridiculous "synonyms." The same goes for avoiding repetitions at all cost. Sometimes they're useful. Sometimes the alternatives are just so bad that the whole thing gets clunky.

OK, so we all already know what The Three oldest archons abilities. So I’ve come up with my own ideas we could use for the younger archons! Definitely a Bow User. And Is a Healer. But the their Ult can cause damage

I have a theory That during the Archon War The dendro Archin created the Regisvines to fight for them, and only two were left. I also Headcanon The dendro archon can bring plants to life and overwrite what each plant can do. (Maybe even bring mushrooms to life 👀).

Maybe They can create a giant plant from the ground that spreads Healing energies and since this is a god where talking about can Cure Curses (Ahem Vils Curses Ahem) and major Diseases and what not.

For Their Ult maybe a giant plant monster (kinda like how Gouba and Oz exists ) that will attack for them (could make for fun combos with different elements like if the dendro archon was wet Hydro Plant monster)

You’ve mentioned how Hydro archon summons a giant wave? I’ll do you one better and their E skill summons a giant sea creature of your choosing to soak the fighters (A cool visual is their polearm turning into a big dream catcher then going swoosh and Baam Maybe like A giant Water Koi fish finna drown your ass *ahem ace ahem*)

Now mihoyo likes to reference Their character form honkai impact into genshin impact (and since they took a characters look from Honkai and another characters abilities with the whole Dual ego thing for Raiden shogun and Ei) I’m gonna base this Ultimate Skill From a character from Honkai (for research search up Herrsercher of Sentience)

Since the Hydro archons whole thing is about Justice. Now here me out here. WATER WHIP. Just a giant whip of water that can go on for miles (maybe it’s salty maybe it’s like fresh water depends on our readers mood lolol). Like, It’s whip of water strong enough to cut diamond or whatever it would be very cool (Kalim would wanna see if he could do something like that with his UM Que jamil trying to stop him)

Maybe their hair turns into water too.

Now It’s not just one claymore, It’s DUAL-CLAYMORE, why? Cause it’s a war god that’s why!

I like to think the shield is like Xinyans and XiangLings combined and it’s constantly sending off tiny Fire Discs. Or just symbols shooting fire like what the Pyro Abyss mages can do

For Ultimate I like to think it’s like Childes Daggers but Bigger and on fire just a huge sword made of fire.

I can’t really come up with much for Cryo archon. But maybe a Catalyst that can summon a giant blizzard that drops down giant ice swords (kinda like Ganyus)

Definitely a sub DPS.

Maybe a healer too since The Tsaritsa is The archon of love?

What do you think about these abilities? Since you mentioned that the students and staff would assume their just strong mages I tried to be very creative with these abilities.

Also how I think the lore could go is maybe somewhere after leonas overblot and before azuls, Crowly has found a way to send Yuu home reluctantly. Yuu, grim and the aduece duo, and maybe some of heartslaybul or savana claw whoever you want come with them to the office to send them home. But Yuu is contemplating whether or not they WANT to go home now. But something goes wrong, maybe grim messes up the spell for the portal to work becuase (although he doesn’t want to admit it ) doesn’t want Yuu leaving, and their greeted with a surprise guest. Now this gives Yuu time to decide if they genuinely wanna go home and when teh archon finally has the materials they need to create a portal Yuu will tell them to leave the portal open (maybe put it into a tiny pocket mirror like the how we have the teapot) because they wanna stay for a little while or just until grim graduates (Que a happy fire cat ) and the archon whose grown attached to some people here was like ok “let our friends visit whenever they want, only if their headmaster allows it”

Everyone expected a lot of things not a person with Green eyes and (H/C) hair with green highlights. And an odd thing about them was the glowing stone on their person, Yuu didn’t have that?

Dendro Archon

I think they'd use a sword or a catalyst tbh, if the skills you listed, it makes a little more sense to have them be more of a catalyst

For their elemental skill, I think they'd summon/throw something similar to Klee's and Aloy's elemental skill except they heal if someone in your party is nearby, their healing could scale by their EM or ER.

For their burst, I like your head canon for the Dendro Archon, so I might go off from that and your idea for their burst, just more tweaking. The dendro archon would be able to summon a large plant that heals AND deals Dendro damage by sapping mobs hp. The amount of life sapping it does and the healing would scale off their original HP (artifacts that give hp won't be of use)

Hydro Archon

I agree with hydro polearm or sword. Too many catalysts

Mmm... To be honest, I think you should have the burst be her skill... The whip idea is intriguing, but I think it would work more for a skill which can allow them to use it several times before waiting for the CD to go down. I think the whip skill would work better with Crit as well.

AND AS FOR THE MENTIONS OF WAVE AND A SEA CREATURE, I'LL DO YOU ONE BETTER BUT FOR THEIR BURST!!!! They summon a large tsunami which takes form of a monster/animal and lunges at the mobs (similar to Zhongli tossing down a dumbbell), however the amount of damage the burst can do is depending on if they are afflicted by the wet status the mobs are afflicted by. If already afflicted with hydro, the mobs would receive double damage while those with other elements afflicted on them would receive the element combination DMG and normal DMG while those that aren't affected by an element, they would receive normal damage. The amount of damage the burst does is scaled by EM.

Pyro Archon

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA CLAYMORE

Hmmm.... I think the skill would be they set an AoE with magma, mobs will receive damage from it and will continue to receive damage if they stay on it, but those who are in party, they will receive an ATK boost that scales from HP.

For the burst, I think I'll use a character from Honkai Impact with their special move which is Murata Himeko in Vermilion Knight: Eclipse battlesuit. Pyro Archon uses their claymore and another claymore but made of pyro and is far more larger and their cut scene has the Archon raise the pyro claymore above their head and slam it down to send pyro erupting from the ground (similar to the pyro axe wielding hilichurls)

Cryo Archon

I agree with catalyst

Mmmmmm.... I'd say her skill would beeeeee... Trapping several mobs or so in ice. They can either do 2-4 ice traps depending if you got their c1. (The ice traps are similar to Mirror Maidens traps BTW but it deals or affects the mobs with cryo)

For burst, I like the idea of summoning a blizzard/swords, but it's similar to Ganyu's. SO I'LL DO YOU ONE BETTER!!!! Cryo Archon will summon a blizzard which freezes mobs without having to use hydro, the freeze status lasts for a total of 15 seconds or higher if you got their c3

Hmmm... I like the idea, but imma tweak it a bit. The archon was in fact summoned through that portal because Grim decided to mess it up just for Yuu to stay a little longer, and so the Archon now resides in Twisted Wonderland as well in order to aide them until they can return back to their world. That way it makes more sense and makes it more fun.

There's not much to do to help Prosciutto tbh

His self care is top tier for the most part. He has expensive colognes that cover up his natural decomposing smell well and his hand sewing is impeccable for the moments a limb (or 2) falls off

But something he loves about you is the warmth you had

He isn't one to outwardly ask for affection, but you notice how he stays close to you or how he always convinces you to stay in bed when you two wake up everyday

Prosciutto cracks a smile every time you hold his hand or hold onto his arm when you're with him

If he still had a heartbeat, it'd be pumping fast when you indulge him in his unspoken wants

Merman!Pesci

Fish in general are pretty low maintenance, so just like Prosciutto his needs are mostly just for comfort/psychological

Due to how drastic your lives are and how clingy Pesci is, please just bring him human items

He always gives you various shells, a big blush across his face as he tells you how each one reminded them of you

So when you do the same, it makes him so happy that he unintentionally splashes the water around him with his tail

How Melone went by before he met you was he commonly visited the local nightlife scene, drinking the blood of the men and women he'd meet

But now he has you and he would pester you to let him get a sip of your blood non stop

He'd come up behind you from behind, giving your neck a small lick "C'mon darling, not even a small taste? I know you'd be sweet~" You only shoved him away, "How many times do I have to say no? I just bought you some cow blood too, why can't you busy yourself with that ?"

But eventually you gave into his peer pressure and he was able to drink a tiny bit

Seriously you had to pry him off and wash your new wound so you wouldn't pass out

Werecat!Ghiaccio

Every full moon could be considered hell for Ghiaccio, especially when it's time for his claws to shed

It's not like he could use a standard scratching board like a domestic cat, he turns into a 5'9" bobcat. Finding things to accomadate him is difficult

But when you entered his life, you wanted to help him as best as you can and make his transformations easier

Ghiaccio and you agreed on trimming his claws to make the shedding process quicker and it surprisely works

Of course it's never pleasant, you earn plenty of growls from your feline boyfriend and on rare occasions you had to restrain him with rope or chains to prevent him from lashing out

But it's worth it to see Ghiaccio less tense and him giving into purring at the attention you give him after the stressful manicure

Minotaur! Risotto

The care Risotto gets is mostly you encouraging him to take care of himself

It's usually the small stuff though like brushing through his fur and cleaning any new wounds he got from a recent fight

It was easy for Risotto to let you be this close to him and it felt nice to be treated with such gentle care

He literally melts if you pet him behind the ear

it's almost off putting to see such a naturally more defensive and aggressive creature be this soft, you're just happy to see him actually enjoy himself for once

This time the article is from the German Rolling Stone website who met with Måneskin after their TikTok performance at the Schwuz, Berlin, and posted the interview yesterday. Again there were some interesting questions asked (and the pictures they added to the article are quite nice, though severely lacking some Ethan content, but check it out!).

An interview with Måneskin: “It's not about out bodies, it's about our music”

Måneskin are just what this generation has been missing. Passionate, corny, and full-on honest. In an interview with Rolling Stones, the ESC winners explain to us why they would never work in a normal job and why the hype for their appearance is sometimes going too far.

Damiano, Victoria, Thomas and Ethan are entering the nearly deserted dance hall, before they wait on stage in a red-blue spotlight. They are wearing glittering fish net tops, black tape across their nipples, leather pants, heels and make up. The camera men who are filming in portrait format (9:16) suitable for TikTok are whirling up the haze of the fog machine.

Måneskin are [in] Berlin to give a TikTok concert. A TikTok livestream of this scale has not been done often – tension is in the air. The four Italians don't know at this point that due to the stream the few people present are not allowed to clap or cheer. In complete silence and with slight uncertainty the four are crossing Neukölln's club Schwuz. A few puzzled glances are exchanged. Finally,  Måneskin are striking the first chord.

Then the rich sound of Ethan's bass drum is tearing through the silence. It's almost as if someone has flicked a switch somewhere. There it is, the rock star presence that is hovering over everything they do, with an ounce of arrogance (in the best sense of the word). Singer Damiano is dancing lasciviously on his heels, and during an especially ecstatic solo guitarist Thomas is throwing himself down on the floor in a way it can only be done by a passionate 20-year-old musician who had never had to worry about the looming doom of an artificial knee joint [for 'passionate' the interview is using the term 'besessen' which means 'possessed', and although I think it's rather supposed to describe the way Thomas is 'possessed / obsessed' with the music, thus passionate for the music, you never know if they didn't mean to say that the way he dances looks 'possessed' … I mean, they might be on to something here ;)]. Around half an hour and about 120 decibel later, Damiano says their goodbyes with an almost shy-sounding “Okay, bye.” After the performance, we do our interview in the Schwuz.

Rolling Stone: It was a little bit weird, right, when you went on stage today?

Damiano: Yeah, that was really strange (laughs). They only told us after the performance that the audience was instructed to stay silent for the stream.

Vic: But at least they weren't silent because we were shit (all laughing). We are slowly getting used to playing without a live audience. I mean we are doing this now for more than a year.

RS: What do you think about these new kinds of concerts such as the TikTok livestream today?

Damiano: Well, at the moment it is the only option to perform anyway, so it's alright. But of course you cannot compare this to a proper concert.

Thomas: But it's pretty cool that so many people can experience our concert live.

Vic: Also we're gonna start touring again soon. Right now we are arranging some festival and gigs. In December we will be touring Italy and afterwards we are planning to go on tour through Europe. But we don't have anything fixed yet, there is just a lot going on at the moment.

“A lot going on”. Quite an understatement considering the recent journey Måneskin has made through the past weeks after their ESC win. Their singles “Beggin'” and “I Wanna Be Your Slave” went through the roof (also thanks to Social Media) and are currently dominating the international charts – lately they were also number one in Germany. There is barely a radio station that isn't playing the band on heavy rotation [would love to know what stations they listen to, have never heard Måneskin played in German radio tbh :( ], and everyone opening Instagram or TikTok these days is flooded by Måneskin content. Every second a new fanpage with the name of 'maneskin_obsession' or 'damianos_slut' is springing up like a (virtual) mushroom. It sounds like a cliche, but Damiano, Vic, Thomas and Ethan became international stars over night.

“Of course it's nice to get compliments. But sometimes they definitely cross a line.” – Damiano David

RS: How has your life as a band changed since your win at the ESC in Rotterdam?

Vic: I think we don't even notice a lot of what's happening. Right after the ESC we went to a studio in the countryside where we made music the whole day long. So at first we didn't realise that so many things were happening all around us – and that we had so many new fans. We're just now beginning to learn what's going on. We were at Sony yesterday, there were so many fans waiting for us. That was crazy.

RS: A large part of the attention you are getting now is about your outer appearance, your style, your attractiveness. Is that getting a little too much sometimes?

Damiano: Of course it's nice to get compliments (laughs). But sometimes they definitely cross a line. Especially when we just talk about our music or about a social or political topic that we care about. In those moments it's just completely inappropriate to reduce us to our appearance. Sure – when I'm posting a half-naked picture of myself on Instagram I know that I will get these kind of comments. And then it's totally fine, I mean in the end I'm posting the picture to show myself. But sometimes it's not the right place for it.

RS: And also you should be allowed to wear what you want without being sexualised, right?

Vic: Yes, absolutely. We are wearing these outfits because we feel good in them, not to put the focus on our bodies. And in general it shouldn't always only be about how you dress. We are musicians – so first and foremost it should be about our music. But I think it will still be a long way until we will reach that point.

RS: But still you are sending a message with your style against stereotypical gender roles. I guess it's also not only coincidence that we are in the Schwuz today, which is normally a party location and safe space for the LGBTQ community.

Vic: Yes, that is all part of the positive message that we try to send. We want to give our audience the feeling that they are free. Free to wear whatever they want to wear, be how they want to be and love whom they want to love. It's unbelievable that there is still so much intolerance in our times. That has always been really important to us so we try to talk about these topics. We also believe that the narrow-mindedness of society is an educational problem. When you grow up with people all around you telling you how you should be, you will never feel completely free. The more people are talking about it, the sooner things will change.

RS: Some artists who are advocating for these topics are accused of 'queerbaiting', that they are only pretending to be a certain way to gain more support from the queer community. Have you also been faced with those allegations?

Vic: Yes, a few times. But of course we never pretended to be anything. Some people accuse of us queerbaiting because we look and act the way we do. But that's flawed thinking. We don't believe that clothes are connected to a person's sexuality. That the boys are wearing make up does not tell you what gender they are attracted to. Those two things should never be equated with each other.

RS: This courage for free self expression that you are conveying is mainly lived by our (young) generation through Instagram and the like. What is your relationship to social media?

Damiano: For me it was almost scary at first. The more we grew, the more people were trying to twist all of my words. But over time you start to understand that with more fame you also get more criticism. The happier you look the more hate you will get. It's not only like that for celebrities. If you are brave enough to show the things that make you happy there will always be people that support you, but they are also those that envy you. Of course, this should never lead anyone to not express themselves openly but that's easier said than done.

Vic: We are also trying not to spend too much time on social media. In the end we just try to be honest with our fans and to avoid negativity.

It's actually surprising how little power a win at the ESC holds in most cases. Almost 200 million people are watching this shining spectacle every year – and still, a few months afterwards it is hard to remember who those people were that got covered in confetti during the award ceremony. It's the well-known curse of a casting show that rests on the winning bands. When just next year a new sensation will come to marvel at, how much impact does a win have then? There are exceptions of course, like Lena who is until this day, 10 years after her win in Oslo, a part of the more famous music scene of German pop music. With their charisma, their unusual sound at least for our modern standards, and their contemporary message Måneskin could become such an exception, too.

It's likely also helpful that the band already had a standing in the Italian music scene prior to their ESC participation. Their first album 'Il ballo della vita' already achieved platinum in 2018, three years prior to Sanremo and the ESC. And then there is also the long way that led the four schoolmates to this point that helped them gain the necessary persistence. Because contrary to what some people might want to believe Måneskin are not a phenomenon that has just been deliberately bred to be this way by the entertainment industry for Eurovision.

“I have worked [in a 'normal' job] for a whole month in my entire life – it didn't really end well.” – Damiano David

RS: You were all raised in Rome, the capital of the catholic church. What was it like to start as a young progressive band in such a conservative environment?

Damiano: In the beginning, when we started as buskers, no one gave a damn about us anyways (all laughing). But of course … Once we got a bit bigger there were a few people who had a problem with us. For example when we went to Sanremo, there were quite many people who thought that the way we looked and acted we shouldn't be allowed to represent Italy. They didn't even want to listen to our music first.

Vic: Especially when it comes to appearance and sexuality, Italy is a little more backward than other countries. The church probably also has an influence there. They are often quite conservative of course, so many people grew up with such a [conservative] mindset.

RS: You once said that the song 'In Nome Del Padre' is an answer to exactly those people. What does the song mean to you?

Damiano: Back in the beginning [of our career] we had to deal with a lot of problems. They didn't want to let us play in clubs because we would take too much space as a band or because they didn't like our (fashion) style or because they didn't want to pay us. Italy isn't a good place for bands. Our musical style was also criticised a lot. Many people were telling us: Don't do that [rock music], you won't get popular with that in Italy, you will never achieve anything with it. Of course those comments were hurtful but they were also a good reason for us to continue with what we did. And we turned our sadness into anger. With that song we wanted to tell those people from back then: Fuck off and look at us, we did it!

RS: Did you ever consider working in a nine-to-five job and live a 'normal' life?

Damiano: Nah, not really. For one month in my life I worked [in a 'normal' job] – it didn't end well (all laughing).

Vic: We all made music since we were kids. It's a huge part of us, that we couldn't just ignore. And the most important thing is that you do something that makes you happy. At least that's what we believe. So we started from a young age to put all our time and energy into music.

Thomas: Yeah, exactly. Ever since we were in school together we always made music. That has always been our main focus and it is until today. We play and play and play because it is the only thing that …  

Ethan: … we live for.

Damiano: Music has also something very therapeutic for us. Even when we are in a bad mood or fight with each other – yeah, that happens, too – then all of that is gone the moment we enter the stage. Maybe that's the beautiful thing about music – that it allows you to forget everything else. You're just standing on stage, having fun with your friends.

From most bands you wouldn't buy such a corny love letter to music. Mostly it just sounds like an empty phrase, a well-practiced quotable line. But when there is something that defines Måneskin and that becomes more and more evident during our conversation it's their uncompromising honesty. The four of them are definitely not lacking a sense of humour but they take their music very seriously. Which should not be taken for granted in a generation that has mainly produced sarcastic cloud rappers and has made cynical twitter comedy a national sport. And maybe Måneskin are exactly what this generation was lacking all along.

Still, the four musicians, all in the age of 20 to 22, are also prone to the constant need for self-expression, that has become an intrinsic part of today's life. This does not only reflect in the outfits of the band (always 'on fleek') and their Instagram profiles, but also in their lyrics. Their latest record 'Teatra D'Ira – Vol. 1' shows a clear theme: The album is an ode to individuality, accentuated by fast and hard sounds.

Sometimes this message fitting for a Disney movie [really? guess I have been watching the wrong Disney movies my whole life …] is wrapped in a contrasting loud and forceful packaging, but never so much that it becomes inauthentic or self-caricaturing [note: I'm honestly not entirely sure what they wanted to say with this sentence since it uses a lot of rhetorical devices that could be interpreted in different ways, but I'd say this sounds the most plausible]. And in the end, the thing that makes Måneskin so interesting is their unification of the spirit of this time – between TikTok hedonism and an omnipresent political statement – with the music of past generations.

“When you are twenty, you start to think about what the future will hold.” – Damiano David

RS: Your musical style is often described as classical 70s rock, but in fact there are many different influences in your music. Sometimes you groove almost into funk, sometimes it's more rapping than singing. How did this mixture come to be?

Thomas: It's just that we all have our own individual influences and then we meet somewhere in the middle. And we always try to stay open for experiments.

Ethan: Yes, we are very experimental in our song writing process.

Vic: We also don't want to limit ourselves to what is regarded as typical rock music. If rap fits better at some point then we just add that in. It just happens naturally without us thinking too much about it.

RS: So why was it still rock music in the end?

Vic: Because it's the style that we feel most represented by. But actually we just play the music that we enjoy playing. That's really important to us so that we can show something real on stage. We don't want to pretend to be something that we aren't or mock those people that really enjoy our music. You should always be proud of what you're doing and never fake anything just to sell more records.

RS: Is there something like an Italian rock music scene?

Vic: There are quite a lot of bands – but the most of them are much older than us or they are more going in the direction Indie rock. There isn't really a young rock scene, which we think is a pity. But ever since we got more famous people are telling us that they started listening to rock music because of us or that they bought their first guitar and such. That's incredibly nice!

RS: So you're saying that you also want to show this style of music to a younger generation. And you capture this contrast quite well in the song 'Vent'anni', which is a typical rock ballad but lyrically portrays the thoughts of today's youth. Where did the motivation come from to write that song?

Damiano: With the song I wanted to show that I'm just a normal guy, a really typical 20-year-old. I experience the same things that other people in my age are experiencing, I'm just doing another job than them. Also I wanted to describe this age as a whole because I think it's a really special age. At 20 you start to think about what the future will hold. I think it's one of the most important stages of your life. Since we (the four of us) are all in the same age, I then started to mix our experiences together. In the end the song shows what it means to us to be 20. There is a lot of good things – you are quite carefree and are looking at life enthusiastically. But on the other hand you're too young to do certain things and too old to do others. Some people are treating you like a full-grown adult, but …

Vic: … not entirely.

Damiano: Exactly. It can get pretty frustrating at times. We wanted to show our audience: Hey, we're also just 20 years old, and we're going through the same things as you. We understand you.

RS: Except that you are the ones who are becoming a world-wide phenomenon right now. How do you want to maintain this honesty?

Damiano: I think that we could just reach this point because we have always been authentic – for better or for worse. Also we are just trying to have fun with what we're doing together. That's something special that we don't want to lose. In the end we're just four friends who started to live their dream. It's actually pretty simple. Of course – we go on stage, we get a lot of attention, we give interviews – but when we come back home we're just four friends.

a/n; i forgot what my draft a/n said bc i accidentally deleted the og part 4 of this. but it's not like i wrote much for this part yet, so not much will change.

i think i did mention that i meant to make reader around techno's canon height so i think i've might've gotten it wrong in the last part but tbh idc too much abt it, i wanted reader to just be as tall as techno bc they're both piglins and yah know, big build go brrr

"it's not like i have a choice, do i?" you moved to stand by techno and tommy, unsheathing your sword. you hear the sound of teleporting and within seconds, dream is right in the middle of the battlefield. you hid your surprise in seeing the male suddenly.

now i wasn't informed that tommy planned on working with dream for this... you thought, looking at the masked male.

"well, ain't this just fun." you said, catching dream's attention. both of you share a look (though you can't really see under his mask), a dead stare towards him as he nods at you in acknowledgement. you would have to talk to him later. "let's get this done quickly, shall we?"

"but who are you exactly?" sapnap had asked you.

"does it really matter when i'm about to kill you?"

"harsh." techno commented.

"says the one with the title of blood god." you shot back.

"this isn't the point! the point is..." you had long stopped listening to tommy's declarations and rants, patiently waiting for the battle to actually start. and start it did.

every move you made didn't even feel like you were doing anything. your muscle memory just guiding you through your fight. it didn't feel like you. your brain was on auto pilot. everything felt like a blur. quickly and almost underwhelmingly, the battle had ended with pogtopia winning.

you sheath your sword back to its normal place, right by your hip. your eyes half lidded and bored as you stared at tommy relish in the rewards of battle. "all of that for a fish?"

"not just any fish!" tommy huffed. you look at techno who has the same unimpressed look as you do.

"i'm going for a walk. i'll be back by night." you don't waste any time leaving, heading out to a much more secluded area of the smp. your thoughts mindlessly floating around as you take your time, walking.

"y/n."

you turn around, looking at the masked man, "dream."

"what are you doing here?"

"none of your business." a dead silence hangs for a moment. "i'm here for a favor."

"oh? is that so?"

"a favor that doesn't involve you. you don't need to know anything about it."

"well, if it involves you, it must be important. come on. we're friends, aren't we?"

"not on my own will. and not by yours. you and i both know we are not friends." your voice is low as you glare at dream. "we both have our benefits if we work with each other. that is why our deal exists. i would never want to work for you willingly."

"but i mean in a way, you're still working for me."

"that's what you think."

"i thought you said you fight for what you believe in." wilbur said.

"are you mocking me, mr. soot?" you raised an eyebrow at him. "i fought because it's not like i had much of a choice. tommy would've been on my ass about it if we lost."

"but you still fought. even if you didn't want to. you didn't even know who you were fighting for."

"i still do not know what i'm fighting for, even though you brought me here." you look at your hands, both of them shaking as you open and close your hands. "i was not myself during that battle."

"what do you mean?"

"i wasn't controlling myself. everything was a blur." you move your hands into your pockets in an attempt to stop the shaking. "i was not thinking, everything was like instinct." you explained it the best you could.

"is that the other reason you left l'manburg?"

"no. would you stop trying to figure that out?" your words held no sternness but wilbur knew better than to not push you further. you were never really one to try and hold your anger against someone.

"sorry. maybe you should just stick with techno for while? get some rest after that? i'm sure tommy won't go through much conflicts with others while you rest. i won't let him." wilbur put his hand on your shoulder. you sighed.

" 's fine. i'll be with techno then. i expect to have no communications alerts from tommy about fighting." you went to find techno in the ever so wonderful pogtopia ravine. wilbur watched as you left his view to find his twin.

"hello again tough guy." you entered the room, seeing techno turn his head to look at you before continuing to farm potatoes. "even after a battle, you're still working."

"revolution waits for no man."

"that is true." you sit next to a large chest filled to the brim with potatoes. "how are you after that battle?"

" 'm fine. it wasn't so bad." a beat of silence fills the room before techno speaks again, "are you okay?"

the question confused you, "what do you mean?"

"i saw you fighting in that battle. i knew that look in your eyes." you faintly think back to the fight, remembering how you didn't quite feel like yourself.

"was it that obvious?"

"maybe to me, i'm not sure about the others though. you didn't seem like yourself." he mindlessly harvests more potatoes as you rest your head against the stone walls.

you bit your lip, hesitant to tell him that he was right. were you even ready to fully trust techno with something like this? this may just be more important than i realize… you thought. “what did you see in my eyes at the time?” you asked, moving the subject just a little bit to move away from the main topic.

“... unrestraint. while your fighting was not very unrestrained, your eyes… they look hazed. i wouldn’t really say it was unrestrained but you seemed very spaced out and yet you still managed to fight like it was nothing.”

“i don’t really wanna talk about it, i still don’t know if i could trust you yet, mr. blade.” you joked, attempting to move the conversation forward to a different topic. “how long have you been planting these potatoes?”

“since i joined.”

“and when was that?”

“probably a week before i met you?” he guessed.

“that’s pretty impressive. you seem really focused on everything that you do.” you commented.

“it’s sort of my thing.” techno shrugged. “i had a 9 month war about potatoes.”

“holy shit. and you won?”

“of course i won.” he started to ramble about the potato war, while you listened to him in full interest. despite how ridiculous the whole war sounded, you had to admit it was pretty amazing.

“who knew the blood god would be so intent on beating a kid to win a war about potatoes.” you joked. “i never would’ve guessed that you would be so passionate about potatoes.”

“well, never judge a book by its cover.” techno hummed, wiping the leftover dirt on his hands as he finished farming. “you got any stories of your own to share?”

“i have a few. they’re not very interesting though. they were all stories from my times in l’manburg.”

“you lived in l’manburg?”

“i was the general of the army.”

Louis Tomlinson Cooks is here!! Yeah it’s 100% for sure as delightful to watch Louis make himself a sandwich as you might have hoped, but how was his cooking? Well I’ll let Louis rate himself-- “I’m not gonna lie not that appetizing is it, I mean look at it,” he says when it comes time to taste his creation, plus, “chopping peeling slicing not great to be fair- everything else I’m all right” (he’s… not wrong, even aside from the peeler issues has this man ever held a knife??) but- “it probably tastes nice though as I said it’s not about presentation for me… [munches cutely]... it’s actually pretty banging, that’s actually quite nice!” Success! Maybe it’s cause he knows the secret to faking good cooking- “as you can see I don’t have a lot of cooking ability so the more butter the better,” I mean the experts can tell you, that’s advanced stuff right there! #Louis-aChild! Substituting mustard and ketchup for coleslaw is a bit of a bold move, but in a belated attempt to convince the kiddos to eat some healthy veg even though he won’t he does bravely try the cucumber strips despite being “not really a man for cucumber” and makes a pained attempt to be positive- “bit of crunch.” Oh and speaking of crunch I’m relieved to have learned that the waffle is NOT a waffle, it’s a crispy waffle shaped bit of potato; a much more reasonable fish sandwich addition than the American version of a potato waffle! Full Time Meals polled to see what people think of Louis cooking; the two choices are “it was amazing” and “the best,” THEY GET IT. My kind of Louis poll! Helen Seamons rated him a “10/10 for effort and entertainment”, Masterchef acknowledged Louis as one of their own, and Marcus Rashford keeps it simple- “my guy” with a lil heart. YEAH, SAME.

Harry showed up in Italy, where he was papped in Venice being driven around (with PA Luis) on a boat (as you do, in Venice). He’s in a cool embroidered Bode shirt and shades and fancy hair, looking good. He’s seen carrying his suitcase, taking photos, and resting his head on his arms looking like a model. One might think, since we just saw the My Policeman cast and crew on set celebrating the wrap of the shoot, that they were done filming and Harry was off to do something different, but nope, he’s there to film! The book has key scenes in Venice that folks had been wondering about the filming of, and David Dawson is also being boated around Venice for the paps, so, it seems that was just for the wrap of the *UK* filming, which makes sense I guess since it would mostly be different crew I imagine, and perhaps some of the main cast are done as well.

Liam’s NFT sale is happening tomorrow! If you’re confused and want more info, I’M NOT GONNA HELP THAT MUCH… uh but I mean you can check out Liam’s youtube video explaining though I would guess that won’t help much (even Liam thinks so; “there’s probably websites that explain a lot better than me” he admits). There is a roundup now posted of what’s on offer for the buyers of the NFTs but I’m gonna be really honest with you, I’m more confused now than I was before. It’s clear that there are only SIX LONELY BUG NFTs right? They for sure said that I believe. But the packages for each different piece (token bundles) seem to me like they’re available to multiple buyers? Like maybe you don’t get the NFT but multiple top bidders on each get the extras? Like they can’t be selling multiple copies of the NFT... can they?! Isn’t the WHOLE POINT that only one person gets to own it? I DON’T FUCKING KNOW I AM SORRY. What I think I understand to be true: the six NFT buyers get to go to “a once-in-a-lifetime immersive dining experience at Resorts World Las Vegas” (this is the dinner with Liam and “a selection of crypto leaders from around the world” which takes place on display inside a giant glass box) and also “a bespoke commemorative presentation box containing the world’s leading holographic display... with audio... and a custom made Lonely Bug commemorative coin,” and “a unique QR code directing the owner to a special ‘Director’s Cut’ edit of the short digital film ‘Making Of Lonely Bug Collection’ which features unreleased footage from the day of the drop showing the creators' reactions when the winning bids came in” (I mean YEAH I would think it’s unreleased it literally hasn’t happened?) But then there are really a lot of other extras including tickets with Meet & Greet access to any Liam Payne headline show around the world, admission to pool and cinema parties in Vegas with Liam, signed art, non-Liam extras (I will literally bid to NOT have 20 minute phone calls with those crypto entrepreneurs PLEASE… but that’s just me), and access to an online party hosted by Liam; I really get the impression many of these, especially the last one, are just crypto tokens that are for sale that aren’t linked to the main Lonely Bug NFTs and many more than 6 people can buy them but a lot of the extras I’m not clear on which it is. Perhaps tomorrow I’ll understand better WE WILL SEE.

Liam also dropped by the discord last night to say some hellos (after a “long long day”) and that he “bought a piece of NFT art of myself tonight I’m going to give it as a prize Monday night so someone can own a piece of art that was owned by me” (an even less tangible bragging point than simply owning an NFT wow that’s an achievement) and the most important update- “I want a French Bulldog”! Oh and he said “that’s like one I did myself” in his fanart channel to a pic of a tiny crocheted illustration of Louis and Harry holding up a rainbow flag. Didya Liam?? (...Liam is crocheting??) Anyway I recognize who it’s supposed to be because it’s based on a familiar piece of fanart, but Liam definitely might NOT realize it’s meant to be someone specific, and tbh I’m more <eyeballs> at him saying that at the rainbow flag crocheted thing than at it being shippy.

Our Song acoustic version is out this Friday!! And Niall talked about NH3 some in an interview today; “I’m in the studio most days, it feels really good. I’m kinda in the latter stages of it and then I’ll go get a band together and go in and record the whole thing. I’ve just kind of been writing for the past 9 or 10 months and really enjoying it” and “It sounds like a complete album. God knows when it’s coming out because I’d like to be able to get around the world to see all the fans as well” and “It’s different. It sounds a lot more grown up. I’m 27 so it’s about time. I really wanted to kinda cement a sound. The singles I’ve released previously have all been kinda different sounds. I would like to have my ballad sound & like a cemented uptempo sound.” He and Anne Marie also talked about one of the other songs they wrote together saying, “It’s kind of like a, how do you describe it- guitar driven meets Tom Petty meets Katy Perry meets…” but say “We haven’t really decided if we are putting it out yet, the conversations are kinda happening... but it’s completely different (from Our Song).”
