The unanswered question: could be answered by Tsukasa.
"Did you know? The school mystery Tsukasa? If you summon him and play with him, he'll answer any questions!"
Tumblr media
With Teru suggesting the idea to investigate what Kako and Mirai change in the past, Yashiro went straight ahead to investigate by herself. Meanwhile Akane decided to confirm Tsukasa's existence in the new timeline.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So this could lead to two possible route:
1. Yashiro immediately encountering Tsukasa (which I doubt)
2. Akane encountering Tsukasa first (and facing some troubles)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tsukasa's line "Come play with me again," for Yashiro bothers me. Because that's also how he is summoned as a school mystery. "Tsukasa-kun, Tsukasa-kun, come and play with me!". This could be a foreshadowing as to Tsukasa expecting Yashiro to meet him again through this school mystery.
My theory is Akane would be the one asking question about what Kako and Mirai change in the past, meanwhile Yashiro would be the one asking about Amane's past...since we have so little to know about the Yugi Twins yet. Why does Amane want to fix the clock tower? And so on.

i know it's a side chapter, but will tsukasa get sick like hanako and what will he do then ???
I always wondered why Tsukasa wasn't sick. It could be due to several factors, but well, we don't have the answers. Amane could also be sick due to the entity's influence.
There are still mysteries surrounding the context of Amane's illness. Anyway, if Tsukasa was sick, Amane wouldn't let him die, the same way he's doing with Nene.
Amane is that kind of person, Tsukasa could even die, but Amane would find a way for them to stay together, like I think it happened now.
In this reality, Tsukasa is with that entity, probably dead, you know, if he's dead, he doesn't get sick.

hello lovely people in the tbhk fandom! how are we all doing today?
"......."
Great! So in the chapter 112 leaks, we see this panel with shijima!
Tumblr media
here she is! our favorite supernatural artist, looking perfectly alive and healthy! so pretty!
Unlike the other students, she's not wearing a uniform, or a tracksuit like Aoi is. Instead, she's dressed like an adult. I would say a teacher. (also shes lowkey buff now look at her arms) Anyways, she seems really tall, and she's holding a clipboard.
In addition, the students near her are holding up a poster they made, and they look really proud of it. You know what teacher I would show a poster I made to first? an art teacher.
Shijima died years ago, so her current age makes sense, becuase in this reset world, she probably didn't die. (thank god because shes so pretty ajwhgskajshg)
Anyways yeah Shijima is the art teacher at the school. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.
im gonna try not to talk about anything else because if i do i might start sobbing

Tsukasa works FOR Sakura
Now this is very likely me just being slow and not connecting the dots until now, but chapter 109 has made me realise that Tsukasa is not the one in charge of the "destroy all yorishiros" plan... It's Sakura.
Tumblr media
It's this line here that's made me finally see the light, Tsukasa has to "help Sakura, by destroying the yorishiro." He is not actively desiring the yorishiro to be destroyed, he's just doing his part in the plan. In chapter 106, he wasn't even phased that Nene didn't want to destroy the yorishiro and the only reason he persisted was because it was "his job."
Tumblr media
Even way back in chapter 93, Sumire describes Sakura as the one No. 6 serves. Sakura gave him the job of destroying his own yorishiro, not Tsukasa.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sakura is the one who wants the yorishiros destroyed, she's been trapped inside the school for 100 years and is tired of it. She wants to leave whatever duty is keeping her bound
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And she is more than willing to make sacrifices to make her wish come true
Tumblr media
Sakura is behind everything, she is the reason that Tsukasa was freed from where he was trapped (very likely Hanako's boundary).
Tumblr media
She is also the one altering the rumours.
Tumblr media
Tsukasa, as cunning and intelligent as he may be, is probably a bit too impulsive to be the brains behind the entire operation. His intense curiosity for things would likely get in the way, no matter how well he means or how serious he's being.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And again, it's clear Tsukasa is not as invested in destroying the yorishiros as we are initially led to believe. Again, he really doesn't mind that Nene no longer wants to destroy yorishiros anymore
Tumblr media
In fact, it's Natsuhiko who worries Nene won't destroy them. Keep in mind Natsuhiko is 100% loyal to Sakura and not necessarily to Tsukasa. If this was Tsukasa's plan, I doubt he would be worrying over whether Nene will keep doing her part as the kannagi
Tumblr media
The only reason we even initially thought this was all Tsukasa's doing, was because Sakura painted a picture that she was in a similar situation to Nene.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sakura gives the impression that she can't go against Tsukasa, that he is her master. But that can't be right, because we know Sakura was the one who appointed the 7 mysteries in the first place. And she was also the one who freed Tsukasa, so how could he be the "master" in this relationship?
I think, Sakura said all this to gain Nene's trust.
Nene, being the modern kannagi, is absolutely vital in the plan to destroy the yorishiros. So having her trust Sakura would help out immensely.
So overall, whether it's the price he's paying for having been freed-- or for some other reason entirely-- it's quite clear to me now that Tsukasa is not the one in charge of the "destroy the 7 mysteries" plan. He's absolutely a major key player, with his cunning and curious mind clearly being an advantage (figured out the fastest and easiest route to stopping time so he could access the clock-keeper's boundary with Nene). But he is doing all of this to help Sakura, it's not for himself.

I JUST NOTICED SOMETHING IN THE CLOCK KEEPERS ARC!!!!
Now, it’s very possible everyone else has already seen this, but for me it was a breakthrough.
So, I was rereading tbhk the other day when I got to the clock keepers arc and I was sort of laughing to myself because Future Kou is wearing a cropped leather jacket. I just thought it was silly that his clothes would change with his time moving forward WHEN I SAW:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Are you seeing what I’m seeing?! This man has a whole RING around his neck. Here’s a closer look:
Tumblr media
This is so strange to me because AidaIro are not the type to just add something in for ✿fun✿, so it has to be important somehow…. Especially since they took the time to draw it into every innocuous scene that he’s in. Like it’s always in plain view….. I’m so curious where he got it from and I feel like not enough people are acknowledging its existence.
(I really want it to be some sort of promise ring situation with Mitsuba!!!!!)
I’m so floored by this it’s actually crazy…

Small theory time: If we assume Natsuhiko can’t die, I think it would be because of Hakubo.
Tumblr media
Natsuhiko never shows much knowledge about the school mysteries, Sakura is usually the one giving exposition between the two, the mastermind behind any plans.
Tumblr media
But Natsuhiko knows a lot about No.6 and his powers. He is the one that gives  the information to Kou.
Tumblr media
“guardian of the underworld” "rules over life and death” and “can give life to those on the brink of death” is a very interesting power, it makes him the most likely supernatural to be able to give a mortal ‘resistance to death’.
It’s also worth noting there is a heavy implication Hakubo can’t do anything when someone is already dead, and that unlike half of the cast, Natsuhiko is explicitly alive: He is the only one in the broadcasting club humans oblivious to the supernatural have no problem seeing and interacting with.
Tumblr media
But even if Hakubo is involved, why would he lend him resistance to death? Natsuhiko has no connection or contract with him.
Truly, he has nothing to do with Natsuhiko, however, No.6 is connected to Sakura, he works for her, and seeing as a lot of his character is about blindly following orders, I can’t imagine him refusing if she ever ordered his help to not have Natsuhiko die.
Tumblr media
She also seems to have an unusual investment in Hakubo, a sense of empathy strong enough to make her go out of her way to help him, asking Natsuhiko to ‘capture him’ so Sumire and Hakubo could have one last talk.
Tumblr media
It’s not part of Tsukasa’s plans, and not part of her own either, considering her confidence Nene will destroy all yorishiro regardless if Nene wants to or not. So Sumire being destroyed/eaten wasn’t something she believed she had to go out of her way to.
Tumblr media
It was simply because she value Hakubo and Sumire’s feelings.
It makes me wonder if despite not being close to each other, they have some history, if Hakubo has helped her before in some way that involves Natsuhiko.

Amane knew his time was short.
Tumblr media
its referred to as the big clock, just like the clock keeper rumor.
it's said how it's been frozen for a very long time
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hanako can't remember, but my theory is that he knew his time would be cut short. he seems very resentful and lonely, Tsukasa and him have their differences, that seem unfixable.
Tumblr media
this may be because he knows there a demon inside or there's something more that happened. but I believe he's trying to fix the clock, to change time all together
Tumblr media
you may change the schools time as you will if it's in your possession. but the clock isn't moving? yes, if you can make it move it's yours to command. so Amane's goal was to have it move so he can change time, or maybe he didn't even know about this? well, it's highly possible he did, Tsukasa may have told him all about the supernatural, and so Amane would know. because of the red house demon now coexisting with Tsukasa he may think this has changed him too much, I do believe that the red house demon took part of Tsukasa's heart in payment, and Amane wants to turn time back to "fix" Tsukasa, he may have forgotten because, humans forget about the supernatural gradually, Amane is already a special case, so it may be possible that this happened or it's a blocked out memory done by "God" it may also be due to trauma.
well, anyways
you need the clock keepers permission, or else it's death for you. with the current plot Natsuhiko's goal is to use the clock, it's only now because the auditorium is only ever open once a year. so the clock keepers are only accessible once a year.
so Natsuhiko will recruit Akane, to gain a clock keepers permission to touch the clock
Tumblr media
or else he wouldn't be able to

I feel like hanako is the one that would understand kou the most, he probably knows how he feels.
they have different reason to be like that, but it's the same thing kind. your not really happy, but you'll be here just for them.
i kinda wanna see more hanako and kou interacting seriously, because if there's someone who can understand how kou feels, it's definitely hanako.
they kind of have the same feelings.
i wish they could talk less 'goofy'.
i know its a comical shonen, but well, it's a shonen.
their conversations would be interesting and maybe, kou will finally open up, atleast to someone.
and well maybe even hanako will say something that might move the story, though i wouldn't know WHAT he would say.
i don't know if anyone has the same feelings, but i appreciate any critics.

WHY?!
Tumblr media
I’m more surprised and confused by Mirai running in front of Akane to save him… I wonder why she decided to sacrifice herself to save Akane… Probably due to her guilt for tricking him into becoming one of the clock keepers…?

Torii gate
Isn't it the same place that appeared when Teru was speaking?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But, there is one missing on the boundary of number six. And according to the first image, there would be a portal in the center, where the hole is.
This reminded me of this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Will another portal open when all the yorishiro are removed?
Or does it have six gates because they are on the boundary of number six?

Tsukasa could still be in Hanako's boundary
I was think this over and I believe the Tsukasa we see around is actually a physical replica made by the red house, I'm not sure if this has been a theory before but it's driving me up the walls
so firstly I'd like to talk about a theory I have for a human Yorishiro. like Sumire she has to endure the same day over and over again, and I believe this to be because that is the day she meant the most to Hakubo.
Tumblr media
so I'd believe that Tsukasa was also stuck in a loop of some kind or, stuck in a replication of their childhood house. my only proof of this is (1) we have not seen Hanako's boundary and instead he always says the bathroom his is sort of boundary, but every boundary has its own innermost reach. we have not seen Hanako's, and instead the entrance to hell of mirrors is through his own mirror, but I think it could be a replication of the red house. my only sort of proof is this
Tumblr media
he's seen to be in this broken down piece of the red house, it's not just in this scene but we've gotten multiple arts of him here, he is partially the red house demon, but what if this is Hanako's boundary? Tsukasa is powerful on his own and I would not put it past him to tear down a section of the boundary for just himself, and especially sense this looks like the playroom and the playroom is where Tsukasa disappeared.
Tumblr media
and with all the supernatural bugs around it could be completely plausible that it's because Hanako never visits his boundary. now why I think Tsukasa is a physical replica is because of his lack of solid body in the early chapters
Tumblr media
he has the black smoke all around him, similar to how the red house only appears as a black emptiness, even as only a demon in Tsukasa's chest, speaking of my guess as to why he can still grant wishes I think it's because he's still partially the red house demon? it's been theorized that the demon builds its own strength and power over time, which is why he would have mistaked the last time he saw Hanako or Hanako went to his boundary twenty to ten years or so
Tumblr media
and Sakura is also said to have helped him, and the paper crane is highlighted and we all know his kokujoudai take form in a crane, especially the one that teleports, similar to Hanako's hakujoudai one teleports people items ect, which could be how he contacted Sakura, the crane is also used to help keep track of people(well that's one of the uses we've seen most) so he could also be keeping tabs on her
Tumblr media
and one of the other reasons I believe he's a replica and not the real yorishiro is because he's said it's harder to move around because, presumably, his body not being entirely together and he seemed very happy to have gotten out. not to mention Hanako being surprised to see Tsukasa, and if my theory is correct on the day he meant the most being the day the boundary revolves around this could also explain what he said here
Tumblr media
and we all know Tsukasa has a huge master plan slowly piecing together through all the arcs we have played out in his drawings
Tumblr media
and I think Tsukasa may be doing all of this, to get his original physical self, who is plotting inside the boundary out of there. I think this because of his actions recently, now it's a very good guess that it's for Sakura's wish, but I believe why he's trying to get Hanako and Nene to destroy all the Yorishiros so he can escape. Sakura has even said she's very confident that Nene will end up destroying the Yorishiros regardless, and this could be because of her pure faith in Tsukasa's master plan
Tumblr media
and in regards of her wish, Tsukasa states that after they're destroyed she will be able to go outside, which is in fact her wish.
Tumblr media
but this could be because once he's out of there he's more powerful, the red house is a very powerful demon, no Minamoto or any exorcist has been able to get rid of it. one of the things that really got me stuck was when Tsukasa was telling her how many Yorishiros have already been destroyed and he said Mitsuba/no.3 could, do whatever? well, let's hope we get some answers soon

Amane Started Tsukasa's Rumour
Tumblr media
Maybe I am totally wrong on this, but this beginning scene of chapter 113 is so suspicious to me. Amane is smirking while hearing students calling out his dead brother's name in a silly ritual, you wouldn't be like that unless this is something you actually wanted. Not to mention: how would those girl's know Tsukasa's name unless someone close to him started the rumour? I think, potentially, Amane regained his memories of the other timeline. If Nene can remember entirely on her own (Teru gets a pass as a strong exorcist), then who's to say Amane didn't remember as well? An Amane who remembers would understand how powerful rumours were in the supernatural world... An Amane who remembers would do anything to be with his brother, even commit suicide. But if that no longer becomes an option due to the interference of the clock-keepers, the next best thing will be keeping Tsukasa around through the rumours at school.
After all, this is the same guy who is 100% on board for trapping loved ones.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Maybe this is why he's even a teacher in the first place, so he can still have a reason to be at that school long after graduation. So he could still be with Tsukasa.
And sure, I know this is stretching quite a bit and entirely banks on Amane remembering. Nene has been shown time and time again to be special, so maybe that's why she remembers, so perhaps it's not fair to hold Amane to the same standard. Which is why I have also considered it is potentially Sakura who is keeping Tsukasa's rumour alive.
She's the only one we actively see creating and manipulating rumours (aside from Nene) for her own benefit. She needs Tsukasa (who is the host for the old god) to grant her wish, and he can't do that if he's been disposed of in some manner by the clock-keepers. Perhaps she can't save him, but can preserve him through the rumours until the present day.
Or maybe there's some other explanation entirely for Tsukasa's rumour, I'm not sure but it's fun theorising! I wonder if the rumour survived to the present? What we're being shown was long before Nene was probably even born... Hmm...

TBHK Ch.110–Thoughts and feelings
1. I don’t even know what to say about this. LIKE!!?!!?! Especially because Akane always said that supernaturals only ever think about themselves!!! GUYS… I wonder if this is gonna affect him as a character and his outlook on the supernatural (anyway they’re literally siblings and I was sobbing)
Tumblr media
2. SOOO CURIOUS ABOUT THIS!!!! What’s the significance?? Is it a functional key? Probably… and if so what does it open?? Maybe it controls the clock somehow???? So many possibilities 😭
Tumblr media
3. WHEN I TELL YOU I WAS SO HAPPY TO SEE HIM. This is my SON. I love him so much and I was so happy natsuhiko went to go find him 😭😭😭😭
Tumblr media
4. He trusts him so fully!!! He genuinely thought natsuhiko was coming to save him!! He thought they were—if not friends then at least *friendly* HE THOUGHT HE COULD TRUST HIM
Tumblr media
5. When I tell you my heart DROPPED (but I am excited by all this yorishiro talk—more on that later)
Tumblr media
6. TBHK character stop shoving strange substances into Mitsuba’s mouth challenge (level: impossible)
Tumblr media
7. MYYYY BABY MY BABY YOURE MY BABY SAY IT TO ME!!! IIIII BET ON LOSING DOGGGSSSSS
Tumblr media
(AND ON THE ANNIVERSARY OF HIS PREVIOUS ALMOST DEATH)
8. Friendly reminder that Teru is the worst boyfriend ever (he’s actively watching Akane eat shit)
Tumblr media
9. I need someone with better media literacy than me to explain what the FUCK is up with these guys bc I feel like I know but like I don’t…. Every time I think I understand shit gets weird again. Like I’m following the story but I cannot analyze this
Tumblr media
10. HIS FACCEEEEE 😭😭😭😭😭
Tumblr media
OK THIS CHAPTER WAS AMAZING!!! I’m so scared for 111 bc WHAT IS GONNA HAPPEN!!!! I have so many theories and ideas and ughughughugh it was so good (even though everything that happened was bad) 8/10 (I’m giving this rating kind of arbitrarily so don’t read into it too much)
So on the yorishiro thing: I think Kou might become Mitsuba’s Yorishiro. Now I know people can become them but can living people… I dunno. However, I think it’s really likely. I’m wracking my brain on what all this Mitsuba would have to value. Not his camera because that was Sousuke’s thing. And if not his camera, then what? Kou is the one thing/person that Mitsuba has grown truly attached to.
So I think next chapter Mitsuba will be dying, but Kou will somehow be able to break from the time thingy (either he wills himself awake—like has a power flare in defense of Mitsuba—or maybe someone helps him—but who 😭) and goes over to Mitsuba and while he’s crying and being all Kou, Mitsuba is gonna like think about Kou (maybe call him his friend for the first time) and somehow in the moment Kou will become Mitsuba’s yorishiro. TRUST GUYS TRUST.
Also on Mitsuba and Kou:
POOR KOU. He looked up to natsuhiko so much when they met right before the severance 😭😭 if he’s close enough, he would’ve SEEN everything happening to Mitsuba.
And also POOR MITSUBA. He trusted natsuhiko!!!!! The good news is that Mitsuba will probably fully shift sides now and possibly make a more direct effort to help Kou Yahsiro and Hanako. Genuinely though, his mom is hurt, *he* is hurt, his friend(ish) betrayed him. My poor baby 😭 why do AidaIro hate himmmm.
I would say something super smart and informed about the twins now, but as I said: nothing about them makes any sense to me.
Ugh I seriously don’t think I can wait till next monthhhhh!!!! If AidaIro lose it and actually kill off Mitsuba…. I don’t even know what I’m gonna do. 111 better be good or else 😭

I think Natsuhiko can’t die.
Is not a new theory by any means but I’ll talk about it anyway because at this point I’ll be genuinely surprised if it isn’t somewhat canon.
On the back of the newest cover (vol 19), he has a cut noose around his neck and a pair of scissors.
Tumblr media
The implication he cut off his noose is interesting, because the only times I have seen a character with a noose was in chapter’s 20 cover, and the cover of volume 3.
Mitsuba Sousuke died and Yugi Amane's death is the focus of vol 3: is what stuck with Tsuchigomori enough to be his yorishiro.
Tumblr media
on the ‘Horoscope + Special Skill’ extra, his special skill is said to be “durability” instead of “flirting” or something more expected of his character.
Tumblr media
Considering how little manga time he has, we see him coming back from near-death experiences with no relevant injuries a lot.
Tumblr media
(he only comes back from the Tea Party incident after Hell of Mirrors, so he spent days or even weeks running from door to door, facing who knows how many deadly places before reaching the school again)
He isn’t affected by the boundaries either, since he showed up wet after his door to door adventure (so he crossed boundaries) and poped up to ‘help’ Kou on chapter 90 in the far shore.
He does seem to feel pain but he never fears for his life.
And it’s not like he is oblivious to what is dangerous and what isn’t: He tells Nene she can die in the Tea Party but shows no care about the possibility he too, could die.
Tumblr media
Nene says “what do we do?” “we have to do something!” but Natsuhiko is only worried about her “Are you okay with dying?”, as if the possibility he could die too never crossed his mind.
Sakura, seems to be aware of this ‘resistance’ to death too.
She is an old spirit, that saw many things, and she seems to believe Natsuhiko when he argues he may still be around to go on a date with her even when the living, the dead, and supernaturals all cease to exist.

Oblivious hypocrisy?
This post is about supposed hypocrisy within Tsukasa. Theory.
To start off, let’s go over his general beliefs that have been shown throughout the manga since day one.
Tumblr media
Tsukasa belives supernatural and humans should be whoever they want to be, they should be together if they desire to. And if that’s enough to end the world, then it’s a done deal.
I find it interesting, out of everything that interesting about Tsukasa, that he thinks people should get whatever they desire. Within reason, authenticity, and if they’re willing to pay the price. With those things, it really doesn’t matter what your wish is, or who you hurt to get it. He’ll forgive everything.
Tumblr media
No.1: He wants people to have whatever wish they want, whatever desire they have.
This really plays into his part on Sakura’s team as well, as her assistant. She’s selfish for wanting to wipe out everyone, every living/existing being just so she could go ‘outside’ and be free. But that’s what she wants, and she’s sure she’s truthful about it, that she’s truly happy.
So in Tsukasa’s eyes, that’s ok.
Tumblr media
No.2 is: That he believes wishes and desires and wants are endless.
A human, a supernatural, existing beings don’t stop wanting. They’re always going to want something, we are always going to have desires and wishes.
He’s known this ever since he was 4 years old, when he got trapped in the Red House. In the Red House, we can see that Kou got put through many trials of his wants projecting at him. And they didn’t stop until they got to Nene and he refused all of them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They are even things he didn’t even realized he wanted.
That’s because they’re coming from the heart, where the authenticity lies.
Tumblr media
Tsukasa has seen person from person walk into the house wanting their wishes to come true. He knows how this works. A wish for a price, no matter how many wishes there are, they’ll have to be payed for.
But there is no end it, no boundaries to what they can wish and what they can’t. As long as it comes from the heart, maybe even portrays in front of them like with Kou.
So, two clear beliefs. People should have whatever they want, beings don’t stop wishing.
Now let’s see how those two things are shown by Tsukasa himself. Let’s see if he fits his own expectations.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tsukasa replies with a chapter long explanation on why and how his wish already got granted.
Kou asks Tsukasa what his wish is, why hasn’t his wishes been projected like his has. Tsukasa says he had no other wishes then what he’s already got granted, with the cost of sacrificing himself, and having to stay in the Red House.
He has no other wishes, supposedly. By his own words. He’s saying he’s never wanted anything more, he’s never even thought of anything more.
To Tsukasa, he really just hasn’t thought of anything more, what more could he possibly want.
Being in the Red House for so long, having to see people come to get a wish granted with their prices as well. He’s been busy peering into other people’s wants and desires. Almost noisily, as this has become his new interest, fixation. Wishes, wants, desires. Impulses, and inclinations too.
But he’s so busy with that, he can’t even think to peer into himself. Figure himself out.
Tumblr media
You could think this was his only want, but then we see later that that’s incorrect.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tsukasa says he knew how to get back home, he just didn’t go because he thought it was for the best. He mentions ‘holding back’, which just brings me back to the whole concept of that in TBHK, and Tsukasa’s obvious interest in it.
So I find it wondrous how he’s saying he himself stopped holding back at some point.
Stopped holding himself back from being with the people he loves most, with Amane and his parents. Now just acknowledging that he’s had the desire to go back. And he even invites the Red House Darkness ( Is that what we’re calling it? ) to come with him.
Though, despite him letting go of his swear of not wanting more, this isn’t reaching his expectations at all. This was, for all we now, one occurrence.
Supernaturals and humans should be however they want to be? Has he ever abstained that from himself?
He’s always wanting people like Mitsuba, Shijima, Sakura, Amane to embrace their aspirations, no matter how selfish or fantastical they may be. He’s always pestering about wishes, this and that, to whoever.
But, he’s never once thought about himself, has he? Just once? It seems so, cause currently ( In the chapter 110 ), here he goes again. Trying to make two wishes come true, Sakura and Amane’s both. At the same time.
And something I’ve also noticed about him is that, he may be truthful, but there are times where he isn’t willing to share. I can point out occasions, but I think this is implying more.
Tumblr media
He can shy away from things, questions, topics. Involving his own feelings? Like his feelings about thunder?
He can get quiet, wide eyed, looking everywhere else?
Well, that’s ironic, giving he always wants to know the feelings of others.
Amane, grabbing his face, trying to see his expression, because I think to Tsukasa that’s a way to read people. Just through the face they’re making? Hmm..
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With Sakura too, like shown in the other imagine above.
Mitsuba as well.
Tumblr media
But.. Then he hides his face when it comes to some situations? I wonder.
That exes all of his beliefs/expectations out.
He doesn’t even make it close to meeting them.
Tsukasa’s all too selfless, and with his overbearing appeal to wishes, wants, desires, selfishness, aspirations, etc etc. It clouds his brain from focusing on nothing more than other’s.
And I’m always so confused when people call him selfish. They may be thinking of his twin. Their almost complete opposites, after all.
I feel like this shows a sort of oblivious hypocritical behavior. His behavior contrasts his beliefs and feelings.
I don’t think anyone would have took him for the hypocrite. Even though I don’t think he himself even has a clue.

The announcer in 101 confirms the ones participating in the school play are first years, and since Tsukasa helped on it it means he's also a first year. Because Amane was a second year in 1969 they both would have been first years in 1968, meaning that's when Amane was fixing the clock...basically, it hasn't been officially stated it's 1968, fans just did the math.
Anyway! I wanted to ask: in the last chapter, when Akane stops time and freezes everyone in place, you can see that Tsukasa is grabbing Amane's jacket. Do you have any thoughts on this? I like how Tsukasa seems to grow more serious after Amane throws that accusation at him...I think it's something new? Tsukasa is used to being called a fake, but perhaps this is the first time Amane has done it. Regardless, the way he seems to show more concern for Amane ("Amane, look behind you") really shows Tsukasa's own feelings are a low priority for himself. Though maybe he's just able to prioritize the very real threat Kako presents to them both. I like to think Tsukasa's grab might've been to protect Amane from Kako, the beginnings of a maneuver to neutralize the threat...
Regardless I think it is so disappointing Tsukasa didn't get a true chance to react or say anything...I have to assume that was intentional on Kako's part. ;_; But!!!! What do you think?
ooh thank you sm for clarifying that!! see this is why fandom is the best ever, media is even better when you get to talk about it with other people who love it (and who are better at doing this kind of math lmao) <3
and anon you KNOW i have thoughts about it!! lol the jacket grab k i l l s me. i think it's deliberately vague, but i definitely interpret this stance as protective as well!!

hands on amane, curled, ready to pull him close or push him aside, while his eyes are on kako, who he just warned hanako about, so who i assume he sees as a threat in this moment.
and god, i love the "amane, behind you" even more.
Tumblr media
how quintessentially tsukasa. not a moment spared for his own physical or emotional needs, not when amane could be in danger. no matter what hanako hurls at him, the first thought in his brain is always to protect him. amane can push him and yell at him and kill him and say he's not his brother--and none of it is ever enough to keep him from protecting him. i don't know if he even had the time to process what hanako was saying, because it seems like kako got up the very second hanako mentioned being suspicious of tsukasa. tsukasa is in protecting amane mode before hanako can even declare his verdict.
the words also sound almost like he's making a request... no panic in his voice, no shoving amane away to protect him. no offensive moves against hanako even though tsukasa would definitely win. looking up to amane, not wanting to break free from his hold or yell at him, even with what hanako has just said. it's such an interesting response, and so sad. everything on hanako's terms, no force used here. just a soft warning.
i definitely agree that it is emotionally crushing to not get tsukasa's response to being called an imposter… but in a way, i think we did? is ignoring the accusation in favor of protecting amane not all the response hanako--and readers--need? is that not a way of saying "you are more important than any negative thing you could say to me or any questionable state of my soul"? is that not proving that, possessed or not, tsukasa's priority is protecting amane? maybe he would have more to say if the situation weren't so dire, and i would love to hear it!! but he still says so much with the limited time he's given here.
but!! that's just my personal reading as someone who loves tsukasa very much and is very invested in his and hanako/amane's relationship. i think so many of these expressions and actions and panels are very deliberately up to interpretation. i think that's why there's been so much interesting debte after this chapter! this was a chapter of many new mysteries and questions; i think the readings of this chapter are very swayed by readers' preset opinions and feelings, bc we actually don't really learn much! (at least anything definitive about the tsukasa/god situation). and i find that SO interesting and a both testament to aidairo's talent and a beautiful example of how much a reader brings to a story. i love how emotionally swept up in this story i get, and how the clue hunting this chapter is so emotionally informed. i think it's so beautiful that aidairo almost aren't letting us have the one without the other, yknow? we don't have information, so we readers have to let our feelings guide us! how beautiful!! how on theme for the story as a whole!!
as for what kako's goal was… i'm still pretty dumbfounded!! but to offer some very scattered thoughts and theories: he definitely seems to act on hanako's words, and given that the year on the little clock we see lines up with amane messing with the big clock, i think whatever kako has planned might have something specifically to do with hanako/amane's beliefs, motivations, actions, etc… he says the god is the root of the problem, but wouldn't there be so many other opportunities to do something about it that aren't in 1968? if they're going to 1968 then amane must be the one whose actions change things the most? unless whatever tragedy happened that the disembodied hand talks about in 101 is what they're going to fix? or maybe there was a point in 1968 when the god was particularly vulnerable, or gained more power?
in terms of the timing of kako's interruption, it could just be that kako was waiting for a certain confession or puzzle piece, and he simply acted as soon as he heard it… though it would be very interesting if he was trying to keep the twins from communicating for some reason!! and 101 tsukasa's whole "do you want me to stay, or would you rather me gone? it's time you decide what you want, amane" haunts me always lol, so maybe kako went back to change that specific choice? and that maybe made him want to prevent anything else from being said between them? it would be really interesting, but i really have no idea about that at this point!!
i hope this wasn't too disjointed or hard to follow lol, thank you so much for the ask!! i was so excited to talk about this!! and still so many thoughts to sort out lol
