I don't think a lot of people understand just how sad Jason and Piper's bond was. Their whole relationship was created by Hera and the mist and it wasn't completely genuine. Piper realised that and let go. Jason still did like her, from what I understood, while Piper realised she's into girls. Then Jason dies and that's his tragic end. He never gets to solve out whatever they once had, even if it wasn't as real

i'm thinking about an au where instead of piper and jason dating it's piper and leo

cuz piper figures out that Whoops She's A Lesbian after her relationship with jason collapses without the pressure from juno and aphrodite, but with leo there is no pressure. their relationship would fall apart a lot sooner and she would figure out she didn't like guys a lot faster

also in tbm when she's being all vague about her reasons for breaking up with jason and she mentions the fake memories issue, it kinda brings into question why she dated jason in the first place. like she clearly isn't cool with having fake memories of her partner so why did she instantly go for a guy she had barely any real memories of? but yk who she didn't have fake memories of, someone she could've actually had context for entering a relationship with? leo. they were actually friends before juno started meddling and she has real memories of him, they could've gotten together and piper would process that there was a bit of an issue there

now let's extend it to leo. he could be upset by pretty much everyone else having their people, just like in canon, and he could date piper in an attempt to remedy that (and again, it's a lot more likely that he would date her than anyone else in the seven). during that relationship he and piper grow closer (though the strictly romantic bits would still feel off). piper would then realise she wasn't interested in romance with him and they would split while still retaining the closeness from before. leo would then figure out that he didn't actually want a romantic partner, he just wanted to be close to someone, he just wanted to be loved and appreciated.

idk, it's just an idea i think would be cool. piper realising she was a lesbian sooner and leo finding completion in his friendship with her rather than with some random girlfriend.

In the BoO Jason saw his life flash before his eyes, a future sitting on the porch with Piper and grandkids recalling his Argo 2 adventures. I wonder if Jason still thought about that future when he decided that he was going to die or did he already give up on having a future.

Alright so, I am obsessed with the idea that Jason has personally pissed off the Fates and that’s why his life sucks so much.

In both series that he appears in he has been slapped with a death prophecy almost immediately after getting involved in the plot. In each death prophecy it’s his life weighed up against the life of somebody he cares about a lot - his best friend, and then his girlfriend.

I’m sorry but somebody wants this boy dead.

And I am convinced it’s because he keeps wriggling out of his own death.

In The Lost Hero, everything is fine and normal right up until the end where they free Juno. And then Jason fucking dies. But because the doors of death are open and Piper yells at him until he stops being dead, he just - comes back.

Not long after that narrow escape they’re back at CHB and Rachel vomits up the prophecy of seven which demands either Jason or Leo die. Because Jason was supposed to be dead. And you can’t cheat Fate.

Jason gets away with it again when Leo takes the hit. And maybe, maybe, that would’ve satisfied The Fates. Jason should be dead, but they’ll accept taking somebody else in his place if it comes to it.

Except Leo doesn’t die either.

So then not too long after that, the first real demigod business Jason gets involved with again in ToA, going into the burning maze to see what’s up - he gets another death prophecy. This time it’s demanding either he or Piper die.

Like, they left him alone for a bit as far as we know. But they were still owed one dead demigod, so they had to try again to collect on him. I fully believe if he’d wiggled out of it again somehow that he’d just keep getting new ultimatums.

Obviously there was, what? A couple months from the end of HoO to the burning maze fiasco, and during that time Leo was running around and clearly not dead. It seems like they left him alone there. Fair enough. But we just didn’t see what was happening around Jason in those couple months. I like to think it’d gotten to sitcom levels of trying to end this boy.

Like remember that episode of Supernatural where that one Fate put out a hit on Sam and Dean, and there’s that little sequence of them walking across town afraid of dogs and skateboarders and fire jugglers and every little thing that could accidentally take them out?

I like the idea of probably oblivious Jason wandering around on dates with Piper narrowing avoiding being hit by a bus every time they cross the street, or nearly choking on hotdogs or something. Until he got back to work and they could pull out the big prophecy guns again.

I just think it works and makes sense because he did die at the start, and then it just keeps trying to happen. So I’ve taken it from when we first meet him in HoO. The alternative is that this has been going on already though. Remember when he first meets Chiron and the first thing Chiron says to him is “You should be dead.” And he looks uncomfortable and shocked, and we literally never got any explanation for why he thought Jason should be dead? Maybe he and the Fates have had beef since he was like seven and he just keeps getting lucky.

Doesn’t have to be the Fates of course. Could be Thanatos. But somebody definitely had beef with this kid.
