The thing driving me so insane about Loid and Yor communicating so openly is that this is how a couple in an actual relationship would address the problems they're having

She's asking him to rely on her, saying that he doesn't need to put up appearances all the time, that she knows he's capable but she's here to help and wants to, that he doesn't need to be perfect.

They're in a fake marriage. Loid has repeatedly told her she doesn't have to do anything but be around for specific events, but Yor still genuinely took up the role of Anya's mom and has been actively working to be a good mother to her fake husband's daughter this entire time, and now she's gently pushing back on Loid about not helping him either.

They aren't in love yet, or at least aren't aware of any developing feelings, but Yor is still reaching out to Loid in a way that someone in a real committed relationship would to their partner. She doesn't need to!! She's completely in her right to not help him, to not care!! He has given her the explicit permission of it multiple times!! But she cares about him, Anya, and Bond, this little family they've created. She wants him to lean on her like she does on him

I never had a chance'' #he even went ''okay but don't toot'' to TC before his final job! he's entertaining TC and sunshine's theory! he really does want help! #boomer's whole character screams “I want to live but I don't know how” #and man oh man I feel like s01e10 reached out of the screen and drove a stake through my heart #because it's so visceral. it's rang true with my personal experiences #it's so sad. it's probably because I'm sleep deprived but I want to take care of that poor orange thing so badly #boomer most likely thought his final job to tow the schooner will end badly as usual but with how he sounds way more upset when he failed- #-and how he even went ''I can't be bothered to argue anymore''. I have a feeling there's a tiny speck of hope inside him- #-that quickly died out the moment lightning struck and he got towed by the fire chief #and of course he's upset. hes tried so many times to find a way to get rid of the jinx but now? it's as if he's given false hope- #-and the thought of the jinx leaving is something akin to a fairytale. as long as he bears the name ''boomer'' and not ''captain harry''- #-he is doomed to this constant cycle of messing things up when its not his own fault and having other point their fingers at him #that is until he got refurbished into a houseboat (essay material for another day) #theyre never going to write another anthro vehicle character like this anymore . sad

and wow. i loved that book so much.

i knew lucy would end up joining l&co again, but when i tell you i nearly screamed when i read the line!!! so good.

once again, the locklyle crumbs omg <3<3<3

ugh i loved reading them. especially when they had that deep conversation in the iron chain circle and lucy rejoined l&co!!! and them holding hands ??? and blushing at each other ??? and their shared smiles ??? oh my god.

also i really liked how holly and lucy got on better terms by the end of the book, though holly kind of pissed me off at the beginning, i kind of liked her towards the end.

and george!!! omg. i loved how he and lucy interacted for most of the book — especially when they had that argument at the end of the first case together (at the beginning of the book); because they honestly both needed to have that argument. like it was needed.

kipps was also absolutely hilarious in this book, i've grown to like him a lot lmao

overall i really loved this book!! i've been trying to take it slow so i can savour the books, and i'm on the last one now 😭😭

anyway yeah i really loved tcs, it was so good.

honestly when i tried to figure out why some fans are so mad at ivypool these days i was looking through avos and. the scene where ivypool apologises to twigpaw for not supporting sending a patrol for skyclan is genuinely very sweet??

i actually saw someone characterize this as "ivypool forcing twigpaw to forgive her". is it crack you smoke. is that what you smoke. you smoke crack?

#she apologises THREE SEPARATE TIMES #she acknowledges that dovewing and tigerheart's situation made her ignore twigpaw's feelings #she reassures twigpaw that this is the right thing for the clans. she tells her she's proud of her & tc is lucky to have her #you guys do understand that to apologise you have to Do Something Wrong?? or is that the part that's so unforgivable? #i am fASCINATED by the treatment of dove and ivy by the fans in recent years #i'm still pondering it but i think there are a few root causes #1) I think a lot of people read oots as kids and hated dove & identified with ivy because of the underdog storyline #maybe this fandom worship of dovewing is kinda part of that? wanting to feel like you've grown out of fandom misogyny? #but i also feel like 2) tigerdove has really increased dovewing's popularity #and i think because ivypool is so staunchly opposed to their relationship people then have to villainise ivypool #3) is maybe too spicy of a take but to be honest #i think people are subconsciously way more comfortable with a woman whose story ends in heterosexual marriage and childrearing #dovewing's mom role in TBC to shadowsight probably helped her popularity #so ivypool whose relationship w Fernsong & her kits is much less of a focus. and is mUCH less maternal #and who still exhibits Ugly Female Emotions like anger and hurt #and who God Forbid now holds a position of authority... #is too complicated to fit into :) she's such a good mom :) she's such a good mate #dovewing is easier to like because she tends to be a victim of circumstances (🤫 and often lacks agency in her storylines) #since ivypool regularly uses her agency to Fuck Up #fans revert to idealising dovewing because not only is she too good to do bad things. she also doesn't do Things in general #never mind that ivypool is the one who sacrifices and apologises #anyway <3 i think if i made a full analysis of ivy and dove post OOTS i would get too many spicy anons so i will cower in the tags
