Can’t stop thinking about the thematic significance of Shuri starting the movie by praying

#can you tell I finally saw black Panther 2 #it’s the fact that she was already hesitant and a little detached from their practices #and then in her most desperate moment she prays and is given nothing #and then to lose her mother as well #the person who valued those practices most in her life #to lead her to that moment of catharsis at the end!#not just when she sees her mom in the ancestral plane #(which was also genius that when she first enters it she doesn’t see her or tchallah and again feels rejected by the religion they loved)#and then when she feels him with her at the end #and is finally REWARDED not just with emotional catharsis #but with his son as well #proof that in more ways than one the dead do live on #chefs kiss #black panther #black panther wakanda forever #shuri #black Panther spoilers

Haha time for some thoughts 🙃

So I feel like an absolute asshole, bc I keep getting frustrated at work, not just my full time job but my contractor job, too, which usually never bothers me at all

But then I walk in today to find that the elevator is still busted and they scheduled tchallah and I for the same hearing room so I had to scramble around to figure out where the hell either of us were actually supposed to be

And the answer? Oh it doesn't matter, there's no in-person hearings today anyway

Cool. It's not like MY paperwork REQUIRES me to specify which fucking courtroom I'm in, especially if I have to change that courtroom multiple times in one day

Fucking hell... At least that meant it was resolved but then I'm late to starting bc all that time running around was usually the time I spent setting up the equipment and since they schedule the damn hearings for THE SAME TIME THE DAMN BUILDING OPENS SO ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET INSIDE BEFOREHAND... ugh

And then of course that means it was my fault for running late because I was attempting to fix the issue... When I don't know until I literally get in and sign in on the computer IN THE COURTROOM what kind of hearings I'm scheduled for, let alone what someone ELSE is scheduled for. So fucking sue me for worrying that a judge would need to be in-person on tchallah's end even if it wasn't needed on mine, omfg

UGH

and then of course, all last night and the night before, I had to play therapist bc we have some clients right now that are needing that extra attention but I don't feel like I'm exactly up to the task of guiding someone thru coping skills when I'm actively constantly wanting to die every second of the day

And so I felt like even if my clients said they felt better having talked to me that I somehow still did them injustice by not being nearly as present as I could have been if I had just been doing better mentally

And then of course on top of all this, my work schedule changed this week so now I'm working 6 days a week at my 10-hr shift job, then 4 days a week at my 8-hr shift job... And that Might be adding to the frustration just a bit

And then, lastly, I'm supposed to do therapy tomorrow morning but the one exercise I was supposed to do as "homework" still hasn't been done because I can't figure out how to do it because it doesn't make sense but I literally spent the last ten minutes of the session last week asking them to explain it and they Did, but I still haven't been able to figure it out and so I'll have to show up tomorrow having not done it because I can't do a single simple task even when given the full chance to ask questions and attempt to research it...

Ugh

Just.... Ugh

Edit: oh, therapy appointment got changed at the last second so I will probably be late getting there bc I won't be able to leave work any earlier... Yay, can't wait to disappoint even more people

#not to mention how i have been trying so hard to just draw something or write something #but then i finally get one thing out but it looks awful and i just feel bad bc i just wanted to promote an interesting fic with qprs #gfdi i cant seem to do anything right and im very sorry for that #anyway i need to get back to work and stop unnecessarily unloading stupid shit on Tumblr...#ugh #orbs thought bubbles

I loooooove the animated comic series. I wish they’d do more seasons.

I mostly pull from the movie with some comic inspiration sprinkled throughout. For instance, in the comics (and the BET series) Ramonda is T’Challa’s step-mother, and I used that in Playlist.
