Explaining My Characters Elimination

Except TDAS and TDI 23 and 24

Total Drama Island Character: Eric and Mr. Coconut. Position: 5th Team: Killer Bass Elimination Episode: Camp Castaway

During this day, Owen, Gwen, Duncan and Heather all are lost after an intense rain that falls on camp Wawanakwa, Eric unlike the other four was in the Mess hall. The next morning, The cabins and the confessional were missing from the camp. Meaning that Eric spent first half of the day trying to search for his fellow campers, the second half he spent it with the production team. When they are all reunited, the 5 missing campers found the production site where Chris, Chef and Eric were. When raining began and only Chris and Chef entered Chris' trailer because it only being able to fit 7 people and there were 8. In the elimination ceremony, Gwen, Heather, Owen, Duncan and Mr. Coconut vote for Eric. Chris gave out 4 marshmallow eliminating Eric and Mr. Coconut from the game.

TDI Audition Tape: Eric was sitting in his bed as he smiled at the camera "Hey I want to audition for the reality show. I have a diverse set of skills! I am people person! I am a good competitor and I think i make good drama. If you pick me I promise to make your Show as Interesting as possible! I am a force to be reckoned with!"

Total Drama Action Character: Bryan (Eric) Position: 18th (N/A) Team: Killer Grips (Screaming gaffers) Elimination Episode: Beach Blanket Bogus

After Trent threw the tie breaker challenge of the beach movie flick challenge, it was revealed that it was a mixed, reward elimination challenge. meaning that the grips had to send a second cast member home. it was a 5 - 1 vote against Bryan, since out of every member of the Grips, he was the one that they didn't knew much about. When it was his turn to ride the lame-o-sine, He asked for one last confessional and fled the scene, meeting with heather and asking her to save him from elimination. He told her his plan of knocking Eric out and having Eric take the boot for him. They do this plan and Bryan changes his and Eric's clothes and with Heather's help the both take a knocked out Eric towards Chris saying that 'Bryan' Tried to run away from being eliminated and that they both Heather and 'Eric' got to him in time and they took him down. He was just passed out.

TDA Exclusive Scene: 'Bryan' wakes up in the lame-o-sine, completely lost and confused "Where am I?" he asked the person who was with him in the lame-o-sine "The lame-o-sine, Bryan. You've been voted out by your team. Eric and Heather found you trying to run away from you elimination" they told him "What? You got it all wrong. I'm not Bryan... Last thing i remember was me enjoying the reward with my team and then i heard some sneaking around near by and I went to check it out and-..." He then realizes what happened. "OH MY... Did Bryan did a switcharo?! He knows I hate when he does that with out consent! he cheated me Out of a Million Dollar game because his team decided to vote him???"Angrily hits the seat "This calls for a lawsuit! and Revenge on Bryan and who ever helped him... and I think i know who it was. Watch Your Back! Heather!" Eric points threadedly to the camera before it cuts the video.

Character: Cody Position: 14th Team: Killer Grips Elimination Episode: Master of Disaster

During this Whole Season, Cody had made an incredible friendship with Lindsay and Beth, the 3 of them being the majority in the team. during this challenge, the Grips lost the last challenge due to Justin not letting Lindsay read the combination. This became an elimination round because Chris felt that there were too many cast members, so he sent the Grips to elimination. a 3 vs 3 vote against Justin and Cody, provoked a tie. Chris made Justin and Cody redo the disaster theme challenge. to see who would stay, Cody would have won but when Justin pretended to almost fall thru a crack, Cody couldn't let him fall and he went to save him but in reality Justin was pretending and with that he tricked Him and Justin won the tie breaker.

TDA Exclusive Scene: Cody sighed as he sat on the back of the lame-o-sine "I can't believe i lost the tie braker... to Justin! The Grips were on a Losing Streak" Cody crosses his arms "What was Trent thinking when he chose the team? Justin, Beth, Izzy and Bryan were all awful choices!" He sighs "Lindsay almost gave us the win in episode 8 and they were going to boot her... An when Chris Gave us Tyler to try and Balance things out... We still lost and he got the boot" He frowned "But I made it far, right?"

Character: Heather and Bryan Position: 11th/10th Team: Screaming Gaffers(Heather)/Killer Grips (Screaming gaffers)[Bryan] Elimination Episode: Million Dollar Babies

In the previous Episode, A Million Bucks B.C, Eric returned to the game and to even out the teams, he was placed with the Grips. in the sports movie challenge, the Grips win the challenge with their cheer beating Leshawna's cheer. During the Gaffer's elimination, Bryan feels he is safe to stay in the game when Heather was the one booted by their team mates, but in a shocking twist by Chris after Heather left, he said that Eric had one vote and despite being in the grips he could decide who to vote, Eric had a hard time choosing between the trash talking Leshawna and the back stabber Bryan. But in the end Bryan was the one who got the boot and in Eric words 'A cheater should not, be able to make it to the merge'. and With that Bryan was sent home properly.

TDA Exclusive Scene: Bryan was sitting in the Lame-o-sine with a frown before he lets out a laugh "God damnit! I thought Karma didn't exist. I would have made it farther if Courtney 's lawsuit to unfair eliminations hadn't won. It's all Courtney's fault." He crossed his arms and smirked "So it was Courtney who technically got me out, Not Eric, Not Heather and Definitely Not the clow Justin. Eric hope you make a good game of your time back to the game" He chuckled and sighed as he passed his hand thru his hair "Next time I will! make it farther trust me."

Character: Ezekiel Position: 13th Team: Screaming Gaffers Elimination Episode: Dial M for Merger

This Season Zeke almost lonely, Though he had Lindsay and Beth who during the TDDDDDI Special, they Became a great trio being the only 2 who actually liked Ezekiel (Eric met Ezekiel after Eric was eliminated in Island, and yet the didn't interreact until now). Eric the first 4 episodes Decided to befriend Ezekiel specifically when They were on the same team. Eric from the own acted as his protector which Ezekiel was thankful for and Eric even helped Ezekiel with how to properly interact with people. Until Bryan and Heather Provoked the Switch between Bryan and Eric. Ezekiel knew that, the Eric in the game wasn't the same one. Though since the Grips were on a loosing streak the Gaffers Never went to elimination until The episode before were They eliminated Heather and Eric used his sole vote to take Bryan out. The next episode, Eric Lindsay, Ezekiel, and Beth were all working together, to try to beat the rest. The episode was a Reward elimination, Meaning Lindsay and Courtney got their reward but they had to vote someone home. Courtney saw the alliance of them four seemed like a threat and decided that it was time to end it. she along, with Harold, Duncan, Leshawna and Justin voted for Ezekiel. causing him to be eliminated.

TDA Exclusive Scene: Ezekiel sighed as he sat on the back of the lame-o-sine "Yo, this stinks! Why were they targeting me! I did nothing wrong eh! I was very nice Thank to what the Girls and Eric taught me!" He sighed frowning "I hope Lindsay or Beth win the million! those two are my dear friends... I... i never thought I'd make a friend in this game after what i did last season. Oh and eric was also a good friend, even when he was unfairly eliminated.... He enerv stopped supporting me.... If anyone should win it should be one of the girls or Eric" He smiled wide "Honestly Courtney, Should get what's coming to her. and I hope Eric... dumps Justin.. I might like him but Justin had been flirting with me when he was with Eric... Not cool!"

Character: Eric Position: 5th (DQ) Team: Screaming Gaffers(Killer Grips) Elimination Episode: Crouching Courtney, Hidden Owen

It was a simple challenge, which consisted on guys vs Girl, but when Chris realized they had 4 guys and 2 girls he decided to sit out Owen (Because he was his mole and not a contestant not officially like eric) and have Eric become an intern during that challenge. As Eric sat out the challenge, he quickly realized that Owen was constantly going to Chris' trailer and it was strange, Eric decided to follow Owen around and saw that Owen was a Mole and was tampering with one team... or supposed to, when Harold and Duncan won, they both had to take a glass of something towards a bamboo where a yeti lived with Owen causing drama between them. Eric confronted Owen and Owen told Chris that he was found by Eric. Chris decided it was time to get rid of Eric now before he blew Owens cover so while Harold, enjoyed his reward, Eric was escorted by Chris and Chef to the Lame-o-sine.

TDA Exclusive Scene: Eric was sitting in the Lame-o-sine a frown on his face "Damn it! riding this thing again! I thought This was my season." He sighed before smiling "That's what happens for sticking my nose in other people's business. Honestly I didn't knew Owen had it in him to be a Mole... or maybe Chris is paying him or something? I am really not sure, But one thing I'm sure of, Courtney is going to be booted soon. Trust me."

Total Drama World Tour Character: Bryan Position: 20th Team: Team Victory Elimination Episode: Broadway, Baby!

This was a nice reward challenge where Amazon, was the 1st place, Victory got second and Chris got 3rd. But during the song what's not to love, when team Victory was singing together about Cappuccino, and pushing the baby carriage, Bryan refused to sing. He was tired of the musical numbers and decided not to sing this time, with Alejandro's influence, saying that Heather likes guys who break rules. While Amazon was getting their rewards the interns were bringing the struggling Bryan to the elimination room to tell him that he is DQ for not singing earning a gasp from team Amazon. He gave Bryan 5 seconds to strap his parachute before pushing him off the plane.

TDWT Exclusive Scene: Bryan falling as he fumbled with the string of the parachute "This is not! how i Wanted to loose! Maybe because I wanted to make it to the merge at least once! UGh! Chris is such a dead man! Cody didn't sing! Alejandro, Izzy and Tyler didn't sing either why am I selected above them to be booted!" He complains as he pulls the string and the parachute doesn't deploys "A-at least I have my dignity right?" A meat grinder falls like a brick "Did someone vote off a meat grinder? That's not good?" The parachute finally deploys and it gets caught on the crown of lady liberty "oh great! Help! Help! Aw damn it!!!!!!"

Character: Carlos Position: 15th Team: Team Chris is really really really really hot Elimination Episode: I see London

It was a tough choice, Tyler Alejandro and Carlos had Voted for Noah, Duncan Voted for Eva just because and Noah, Owen and Eva had Voted for Carlos. the game resulting in a tie breaker. Noah quickly used his brain to actually have Chris the eliminated one, By telling him That He didn't get eliminated from the challenge by Jack the ripper and they had captured him. It was a stupid way but it worked being Carlos chosen to take the plunge.

TDWT Exclusive Scene: Carlos didn't get his parachute because Chris pushed him out before he could give it to him "Guess I wasn't too manipulative to stay longer but a tleast I made it farther than Bryan. He was booted early on and that sad..." He sighs as he notices his parachute "I'm glad I'm out of this game before we got to the dreaded eating challenge. And all that singing this isn't a cartoon series or a kids show where singing makes everything better. What was Chris thinking." He sighs "And Alejandro he is dominating the game. getting Bryan out like that was rough... honestly I knew not to trust that eel, Bryan doesn't remember what he did to Eric but I do! Eric Better give Alejandro a piece of his own medicine... or at least karma."

Character: Eva Position: 11th Team: Team Chris is really really really really hot (Team Amazon) Elimination Episode: Sweden Sour

In the previous Episode, Chris switched eric to team To make a tie breaker between Courtney and Gwen and negate Eric's vote. To keep things fair, Chris switched Eva to Team Amazon. They would have booted Courtney but They saw Eva as a Bigger threat and that's why they booted her.

TDWT Exclusive Scene: "This Stinks" Eva said during the drop of shame "I was perfectly fine this time! I can't believe my team decided to vote me off Because i was a bigger threat when Heather is the witch that should be going home!" She growled "When I get my hands on my back stabbing team I am going to pound them to the ground!"

Character: Eric Position: 10th (N/A) Team: Team Amazon (Team Chris is really really really really hot) Elimination Episode: Sweden Sour

An elimination challenge, in the previous episode, Chris had switched Eric to team Chris during the elimination ceremony of Team amazon and negated Eric's vote resulting in the tie between Gwen and Courtney. this time while Alejandro, Owen and Duncan 'Enjoyed' their reward, Eric was called by Sierra towards the elimination ceremony to discuss her behavior towards him. But when he was distracted she pushed him out off the plane, she was jealous that Eric was close friends with Cody and she thought that Eric needed to go like now.

TDWT Exclusive Scene: Eric walking stranded and cold in Sweden "This is the last time I fall for someone's 'I want to talk' Ugh! This is the worst thing that has happened to me..." He said as he walked the interview speaks "We got word from the production that we would be able to get you to our next destination. You'll have to do a small Challenge before we give you a one way flight towards the next destination in Canada. if not you'll elimination will count as part of the next elimination." He said as Eric nods "Okay! what's the challenge?" Eric asks "You will have to tap into your inner adventurer and conquer the rugged terrain and challenges inspired by Nordic lore. Tasked with retracing the steps of legendary Viking explorers, your challenge begins with navigating through dense forests, traversing icy rivers, and scaling rocky cliffs if you manage to finish it. You will be send to the next destination in canada

Character: Eric Position: 4th Team: Team Amazon (Team Chris is really really really really hot) Elimination Episode: Planes, Trains and Hot Air Mobiles

Eric was the last one to move away from the wrecked plane in Drumheller, as he was finding way to get to where he needed to. he was 4th place the whole race towards Hawaii, Meaning he was Automatically eliminated when He reach the beach where he was going to drive to Hawaii, but as a way to have him in Hawaii Chris still allowed him to take his vote.

TDWT Exclusive Scene: Eric driving his Boat towards Hawaii "Damn.... made it all the way to the final four to be eliminated even before reaching Hawaii. This is so unfair. Why do I have the worst luck in the universe!" He sighs as he continues driving "Who knew id be out right about now. But hey The only one worth cheering for is Cody, I really do hope my man wins! Alejandro and Heather are going down!"

Total Drama Revenge of the Island Character: Bryan Position: 11th Team: Mutant Maggots Elimination Episode: Mutant Strength Fiasco

This challenge the teams had to choose between two strong and dangerous mutant creatures that the interns, Dakota, Eric and Bryan had found for them. Then they had to choose one member of each team to do a strength base obstacle course where they'd compete with the opposing mutant creature. During the Challenge which was Jo vs Lightning. Daniel tried to finally put his manipulation skills to make Zoey and Anne maria (who he likes) to fight over Mike/Vito. while he provoked the girls he was caught by Cameron and Mike doing this, and the arguing between the girl caught Jo's attention causing her to also get distracted and lose to lightning. During the elimination Jo, Mike and Cameron vote for Daniel seeing him as a dangerous threat as he finally showed his true colors, Daniel and Anne Maria voted for Zoey, while Zoey voted for Anne maria, Ending in a 3-2-1 vote Daniel taking the Hurl.

TDROTI Audition Tape: Daniel was smirking as he showed pictures of his three older brothers "Hello Producers of Total Drama, I hope you consider me as a player for you game! I've watched the first 3 seasons and saw that most of your contestants are gullible and easily manipulated. Also your villains aren't that discreet. If I'm chosen i promise to be a villain in the shadows, and I won't I wont be found. I'm Like a ninja... or as my brothers call me a Sheep in Wolves clothing.... but what's my weakness... I'm over confidence when i do my schemes and i get caught... but what are the changes I'll get Caught manipulating my cast members"

A/N: Here is the explanation of the first 4 seasons of Total Drama and their exclusive scenes. This was fun to write, I already have Daniel's and Eric's exclusive scenes for TDAS but ill write them when we get to their eliminated episodes in my rewrite of TDAS. Also, I'm Changing Courtneys TDAS exclusive scene too.

Fyi, this is not VS competition thing between the book and show. I just wanna know how u felt and thought of when u first watched the wedding and then read it. Cuz i had i meltdown when reading the book wedding at 4 am

Okay show wedding (since I watched it first) - Tbh I didn’t get to enjoy the wedding the first time I watched it because I was in a horrible mood. But I still loved and felt emo etc. But when I watched it the second time, it hit me so bad I cried (I usually don't cry lmao). I loved everything about it? The song? We all knew it would be ‘I get to love you’ but hearing it just broke me. Jace being Alec’s parabatai and being so happy for him? Sizzy looking at each other? Alec just looking so so so happy? Catarina????? Madzie being the flower girl???? I lost it when I saw Maryse walking Magnus down the aisle. THE GROWTH BRO THE GROWTH.

and when Magnus joins Alec in the aisle, Alec takes this tiny breath like he can't believe it’s really happening and Magnus is just quiet and composed as always my tiny heart broke. And the vows were PERFECT. and then it was officiated by jem sdkjfhgskghdf. THE KISS AS HUSBANDS??? And they walked down the aisle and I died :)

Okay the books - I had TDA (and qoaad) in my shelf for over a year and didnt read it. Which means I didn’t get to read the wedding either. Because I knew malec would get married in the final bits of the book so I didnt want spoilers for TDA. But when I read it...

Man, my heart had never been more full I swear. everything about it was so perfect. The beach?? The fact that Alec fucking remembered that’s where Magnus wanted to get married???? Their kids being there with them???? Catarina walking Magnus down the aisle???? THE RINGS?????? with aku cinta kamu???

Magnus comparing Alec to the “PRESENCE OF GOD”??? *intense sobbing*

There were so many little details that made me so emotional. Like even the the fact that Jace, Simon and Kieran played music together???? All our faves were there???

I know the vows are standard but the “has thou found the one thine soul loves?” and “I have found him and I will not let him go” is perfect for malec (especially Magnus) and I love that vow SO much.

It’s so rare to read a scene where you can picture every single detail as if you are witness it in person. The wedding scene was something like that for me. I didn’t wish like I was there, but I felt like it.

PS - I’m known for hating wedding. It’s something I never liked. I was at my sister’s wedding last year and was LITERALLY like “what time do we get to leave?” and my family was like “UH WE GO LAST YOU WEIRDO”

I would read/watch the malec wedding a thousand times and I could never hate it.

Hehe, I did not realize that the 15th anniversary rolled around, so I didn't prepare anything special. But in it's honor, here's my story on how I learnt about and finally read City of Bones.

When I was around 13-14 years old, my friends and I decided to go to the cinema randomly. The options were not great, not bad either. I saw the poster of The Mortal Instruments with Lily Collins which I adored back then. I voted to go see this movie - that I had no clue about - but the boys in the group voted for Wolverine/Logan or whatever and we ended up going there.

About a year later, I randomly stumbled upon The Mortal Instrument's movie on a movie website and something clicked in my head that I should watch it. I loved the movie (mind you, at this point I had no idea about the books' existence) and wanted more because the ending seemed so open. Curious as to when the sequel would come out, I dug around a bit. And found out that the movie was based on a book series.

I had only just recently got into the dark hole of bookworming, so I thought Sure, it's a series, I'll go for it. At that point, City of Heavenly Fire was coming out so I had the perfect time frame to read the 5 existing books and the City of Heavenly Fire. I got the e-books and DEVOURED City of Bones. I fell in love with Jace (come on, I was around 15 and he was this hot blondie book dude of 16, perfection), with Magnus, I adored Izzy and I liked Clary. I hated Simon's guts, Alec annoyed me, and Magnus amused me. As I progressed with the books, I have no clue when I fell in love with all characters.

City of Heavenly Fire was 3 days away from being released and I was dying to know what happens next. Imagine my reaction when I found out there was another series in the same universe - this time in Victorian London. Urban historical fantasy? Urban period-piece fantasy? Okay, sure, it's right up my alley since I ADORE period dramas.

I smashed one book per day. I cried so hard at the Clockwork Princess epilogue that I had no idea how to cope with my life. At this point, less than 12 hours before CoHF was about to be released. Fine, I'm fine.

I slept through those hours - then it was out in the world and on my Kindle. AND I SCREAMED SO HARD WHEN I REALIZED WHO BROTHER ZACHARIAH WAS. My neighbours almost called the cops thinking something bad had happened (crazy neighbours, I tell ya).

And that's the story. I was done for. Cassandra Clare was up there on my list of YA authors and since then I'm just waiting for her to put out more and more content.

How many times have I read TMI? 3-4 times. How many times have I read TID? 6-7 times. How many times TBC, TFTSA? - 3 times. How many times TDA? Weeeeell... just once, but that's because it's my favourite series of all, but it's also the one with the most suffering, so I'm trying to figure out when a re-read would be good (I have tried re-reading it this summer and I nopped outta there after the Lord of Shadows beach scenes - yeah, you know which one. I couldn't go through angsty Blackstairs again).

But I read twice TLH - eagerly awaiting Chain of Thorns.

Wow, this got so long. Well, if you made it this far, thanks for sticking around. I'll just disappear again and lurk around waiting for new SoBH entries to be released.

Hello there! This is my Tier List of the books in The Shadowhunters Chronicles! I've seen this today and felt like making my own! It is always nice to talk about these books that i love so much!

Let us begin with the "Haven't Read" Tier. Tales From The Shadowhunter Academy is the only book i have not read yet. I probably should read it as soon as i can.

For the "Bad" Tier,there is no book,because i haven't disliked a single book of Cassie.

For the "Average" Tier,we have City of Fallen Angels and City of Ashes,book 4 and 2 in TMI. City of Fallen Angels was weird the first time i read it,i had fun reading it and all,but i honestly felt like the book was way too slow,as if nothing happened in it. City of Ashes was great but i got really sick of reading about Maia's evil brother. I just can't picture something like that,someone having an awful and wicked brother for no apparent reason. The Shadowhunter's Codex also belongs here. It was interesting to read,but it doesn't really add that much.

In the "Okay" Tier we have City of Lost Souls,City of Bones,books 5 and 1 in TMI. We have The Red Scrolls of Magic,book one in TEC,and The Bane Chronicles. I love City of Lost Souls,the whole Jace being connected to Sebastian situation was really nice to read,as well as the adventures of Team Good. I didn't like having all those scenes of Maia and Jordan though. City of Bones was the first book of Cassie that i read and i really enjoy it. My problem with it is actually the behavior of some characters 😂😂 specially Jace and Simon. Jace was way too annoying for me in this book,being snarky and sarcastic,and Simon always wanting to follow Clary and get into trouble with her,i had no patience for them. The Red Scrolls is very good,but it was kind of a bummer to see that Red Scrolls isn't really a powerful magical artifact. I also hate Shinyun Jung. I absolutely adore The Bane Chronicles,except the Peru story and Runaway Queen,they were really boring to read.

For the "Good" Tier we have Lady Midnight and Queen of Air and Darkness,books 1 and 3 from TDA. We have City of Heavenly Fire and City of Glass,books 6 and 3 in TMI. We also have Ghosts of The Shadow Market. LM is absolutely amazing,it is probably one of the best First books i have ever read. I just thought the whole scene when they found out about Malcolm a little hard to understand,it just seems like they put all the pieces together too fast for my taste. Emma and Julian in the beach is definitely my favorite scene! I also love Cristina! And i'm not a fan of Kieran. QoAaD was breath taking! Thule was definitely my favorite part,specially because i could never expect something like that! I seriously read that part in 5 or 6 hours 😂😂 the ending was game changer as well! My only problem with Queen is Annabel,and the fact Cassie turned her into Ash's babysitter,i think her role could have been much better. I love Heavenly Fire,Edom was really interesting to read about,and Sebastian's attacks to the different Institutes. His death scene was kinda sad in my opinion. I also cannot forgive him for killing Raphael. City of Glass was great,i love the ending,the whole scene with Clary,Jace and Valentine. Raziel appearing is my favorite scene,and him "spitting" and killing Valentine 😂😂. GoTSM is probably my favorite short story book,i just love Every Exquisite Thing and Cast Long Shadows! As well as the one with Janus and Ash.

For the "Great" Tier we have Clockwork Princess and Clockwork Prince,books 3 and 2 of TID. We also have Lord of Shadows,book 2 in TDA. Chain of Gold also belongs to this Tier. Clockwork Princess made me cry,and that was the first time something like this ever happened to me. I was really glad to see that there was a happy ending for those characters that i love so much! Tessa is definitely my favorite character,and i really love Herongraystairs,though i shipp Wessa more than Jessa,don't be mad at me please 😂. Clockwork Prince is also outstanding,especially the ending,when Charlotte reveals her pregnancy and Cecily shows up,it was an amazing Cliff Hanger. Lord of Shadows is my favorite from The Dark Artifices,the ending crushed me,it destroyed me completely. Emma and Julian in Cornwall was also incredible to read,it was also very nice to read about Annabel and the Unseelie Court. I have absolutely no words to describe Chain of Gold. I waited years for this book and it was simply perfect. It is thanks to this book that i love The Merry Thieves so much💖💖📖

For the "Excellent" Tier we have Clockwork Angel,my favorite book of all time. I read The Mortal Instruments before reading The Infernal Devices,and i thought no other series of Cassie could ever be better than TMI. That was until i read Clockwork Angel and loved it more than the entire Mortal Instruments 😂😂 It was a unique feeling,the one you feel when you discover a new favorite trilogy!

emma getting annoyed at the seelie queen for saying julian’s name in a “possessive” way

emma kicking manuel’s leg for insulting julian and julian threatening to murder kieran for insulting emma. they’re always so defensive of each other no matter what

julian putting emma’s shirt under her head to make sure she isn’t uncomfortable when they’re having sex on the beach

and since we’re talking about sex, when emma is on top of him in bed and they’re going to do it but are interrupted by dru. i can’t believe cc robbed us of a blackstairs sex scene with emma on top smh

julian going from tenderly kissing emma while she is pretending to sleep, to stucking his tongue inside her ear giving her the biggest scare ever

julian always putting his hand on emma’s back after a jump to make sure she doesn’t lose her balance

“you could win a war,” he said confidently (foreshadowing???)

being one of the most beautiful, angsty and sweet ship in the whole series and i will never stop thanking cassandra for creating these two characters and their relationship

Who knew Ragnor was alive?

(Spoilers for QoAaD)

So, as anyone who follows me has probably figured out, I was really looking forward to a warlock reunion in QoAaD, and was super disappointed to not only not get one, but to also get zero explanation for why Ragnor faked his death, and very little interaction between the warlock squad at all.

But I think I have an idea about why we didn’t get a reunion scene. I think the whole TMI gang (plus Jem and Tessa) already knew Ragnor was alive before the start of TDA.

“Is that Ragnor Fell in a ‘Ragnor Lives’ T-shirt?” said Clary in amazement. Ragnor was one of Magnus’s oldest friends and had spent several years pretending to be dead and then several more pretending to be a warlock called Shade. Jace and Clary had good cause to know him well.

Why would Jace and Clary know Ragnor well? He was ‘dead’ by the time Clary made it to his house in TMI. She never even saw him.

And Magnus and Catarina definitely think Ragnor is dead in Born to Endless Night. Their conversation in Ragnor’s room, and Magnus’s thoughts about Ragnor and Raphael and immortality, wouldn’t make sense if either of them knew he was still alive.

Ragnor and Raphael. They were both supposed to be immortal. Magnus had thought they would last forever, as he did, down the centuries, that there would always be another meeting and another chance. But they were gone, and the mortals Magnus loved lived on. It was a lesson, Magnus thought, to love while you could, love what was fragile and beautiful and imperiled. Nobody was guaranteed forever.

But Jem and Tessa knew Ragnor was alive before QoAaD. They’re the ones who asked him to keep an eye on Kit before the start of the book.

“Yes, you. Did you really think I was sticking around and helping you with your dumb necromancy just as a favor to Hypatia? We’re not that close. Jem’s the one who asked me to look out for you. The whole Carstairs owe the Herondales business. You know.”

And

“I don’t know.” A line of worry had appeared between Tessa’s brows. “We felt nervous enough before, leaving you, even with you in the Institute and Ragnor nearby to protect you. He even followed you when you went to the Shadow Market.”

So Ragnor “spent several years pretending to be dead and then several more pretending to be a warlock called Shade.” What if the shift between pretending to be dead and pretending to be Shade happened about two years before QoAaD, right after Born to Endless Night?

Here’s a brief summary of the second TEC book, The Lost Book of the White, from CC’s book release schedule, which we know is set right after they adopt Max:

Magnus and Alec thought the adventures of their far-too-eventful vacation were long past. But old friends and old enemies linger, and the story continues…

Old friends, huh?

The Red Scrolls of Magic sampler involves a cult trying to summon a Greater Demon. And it may not be connected, but Ragnor was investigating Greater Demons for Jem in the first few GotSM stories when he was trying to figure out who Tessa’s demon father was.

“I went to several sources about the information you asked for,” said Ragnor. “I have a lead, but I have to tell you—I was warned that this quest might prove fatal: that it has already proved fatal to more than one person. Do you truly want me to follow up on the lead?”

There’s also the fact that Ragnor can do dimensional magic, and he knows about other AU worlds.

Shade stared at the letter, the color draining from his face, leaving it the sickly hue of lettuce. “Thule?”

“You know that world?” Ty said.

“Yes.” Shade’s voice was toneless. “I know many other worlds. It is one of the worst.”

Could he have faked his death by dimension hopping, and lost a couple of years when he came back?

Whatever reason he faked his death, I think Magnus and the others are going to run into Ragnor and find out he’s alive in The Lost Book of the White. That’s why Jem and Tessa already knew he was alive, and why Jace and Clary already know him well, and why in QoAaD, we didn’t actually see him interact with any of the other warlocks, except from a distance, because hearing their conversations would give away that it wasn’t a surprise to them that he’s alive.

There’s this quote, which does sound like Magnus doesn’t know Ragnor is alive in QoAaD, but with other characters knowing that he is, I think it could also just indicate that they couldn’t communicate while Ragnor was in hiding, and this is a message letting Magnus know that Ragnor is officially coming out of hiding now.

“Magnus will be the first to get it, don’t worry,” said Kit. “He’s at the Institute now.”

At that Shade spun back around. “Magnus is here?” He glanced up at the Institute where it gleamed like a legendary castle on a hill. “When he’s well, tell him I’m in the Staircase Beach cave,” he said. “Tell him Ragnor says hello.”

I’m not sure why he spent years letting his friends think he was dead, or why he disguised himself as Shade after, other than maybe it has to do with the Shadow Market stuff he was investigating for Jem, but hopefully these pieces not adding up means there’s plans for an explanation in a future book, not that it’s just going to be left a huge plot hole.

And as a bonus, I’m pretty sure Magnus made Ragnor wear that “Ragnor Lives” shirt as punishment for putting them through thinking he was dead.

quoaad review there are only spoilers you’ve been warned

first of all i didn’t really like the book, i dont think it was bad per se i think it’s been a year and a half and a lot has changed in my life esp preference wise so i think the excitement was a little more gone than i realized

its weird because this book took a year and a half to complete, but it still felt rushed? unedited? there was repetition in some parts and some reveals were thrown in there so casually that it almost seemed as if edited in as an afterthought

i’ll use kit’s reveal as an example. jem told emma about kit at the start of the book yet emma literally did not think about it ONCE until the end. i’m not just saying this as a kit fan, she was in faerie and saw the whole royal drama and even at the mention of the true heir kit didn’t cross her mind? emma isn’t stupid how did she completely disregard all that? it felt unprofessional on cassie’s part

so. much. romance. oh my god. we get it ! people have sex ! listen i don’t really care about any of these pairings other than kitty and sizzy, maybe that’s why it bothered me, but i thought there are much larger things at stake and all the romantic drama was just annoying.. i’m sorry... i just didn’t care about any of it except for kit and ty but i’ll talk about that later.

jace and clary... hunnies..... not your fault but i’m tired of reading about them and the epilogue has clary’s name again... she had her series, by now she apparently had all tmi/tda just for her and now another one? i’m tired of reading about her and jace felt dead this book other than the times he spoke to kit which i really appreciated actually.

the end was so dramatic and a little underwhelming too. emma and julian turning into huge all destroying angels that shine gold? first of all, we’ve seen that before. second of all. it was dumb. im sorry. maybe im older and that’s why all of these themes bothered me but i felt like the whole plot was dumbed down which is upsetting cause tda’s set up was the most intricate out of all of cassie’s books so far

kit and ty.... kit herondale saved the book for me and ty disappointed me although i kind of get where he’s coming from and his character is complex in more ways than one so i cannot as easily predict what he’ll do. i really hoped kitty would be an angst-free cassie clare ship but clearly that’s impossible and i’m so annoyed we have to wait another three years to see them interact after the horrible way they left off too... i’m just sad okay. they’re sweet. kit fucking yelled that he loves ty in his face... i get why he was upset after but i just wish they’d talk........ idk if ty has the mindset to really like kit back which is the only reason i kind of forgive him but when kit disappeared and ty didn’t even react and didn’t ask about him in the next scene? it just felt ooc... disappointing.

KIT HERONDALE. i love you. that’s all i’ll say about you for now. he’s the only pov i looked forward too and ngl the only pov i was reading instead of skimming by the end of the book. he’s the best character cassie’s ever created and i will love him forever. can’t wait to see how he’ll grow up with tessa and jem i have really high hopes for him and his powers are too much fun. a little op but .... if it’s kit i forgive him for anything i love him THAT much.

also povs... sooooo manyyyyy fuckingggg povs!!!! i dont think i actually read one diego chapter im sorry like i just DONT CARE!!! helen povs are valid though. lesbians always win.

overall... haven’t even rated the book yet because i wanted to love it soooo bad i promise.. but it just. ugh. it was disappointing. it felt rushed even though cassie had a year and a half to write it and really really underwhelming. i think part of the reason i lost so much patience was the million povs and the constant romance and all the fucking !! maybe its because her previous books were so pg but it felt out of place and unnecessary.. im not against sex in books but here it was like every pov at one point. relax. or skip it. give me more kit chapters instead.

few more things:

i love ash, so excited for more of him, his dru fixation is a little annoying to me though because it seems too love at first sight but im curious to see where it’ll lead.

helen and aline, i love you two!!!!! GO GO LESBIANS !

idk why i expected more from diana’s reveal... it felt like the kit reveal earlier. just thrown in there because cassie suddenly remembered she should include it

livia... it was too sad seeing her. the whole thule or whatever that place is called im sorry it was interesting? but kind of ..? idk it just felt really awkwardly described especially ash??????? wasn’t ash in their world????? how is he also so involved in thule?????? julian and emma landing on the beach and conveniently the whole army is there????? it just felt badly written

i dont care abt the tmi characters im sorry except simon and izzy bc we barely see them but the rest slkdfjkdsfj i get they’re the foundation of cassie’s whole shadowhunter world but i’m much more interested in the current characters

the kieran/cristina/mark situation.... felt zero chemistry there and i really didn’t like it but glad polyamory getting representation but sighs. more reason for cassie to write sex.

julian.. my anti-hero........ you had so much potential

kit herondale. once again thank you for saving this book. i love you forever

im still excited for the next series but i’m just a little upset right now. i was really looking forward to this and i spent most of the book annoyed. sighs. i’ll still read her other books because a) daddy will herondale b) i have high hopes for kitty

A very popular question! Obviously the identity of Kit’s mother is a mystery right now, and a significant one. Kit only knows the story his father told him, which isn’t true. A great deal of the details of this mystery are shown in Ghosts of the Shadow Market: we will meet her, as part of Jem and Tessa’s search for the Lost Herondale. If you don’t read Ghosts, you’ll get the answer to Kit’s mother’s identity in Queen and TWP.

It’s a fairly significant part of Kit’s story, and part of the reason Jem and Tessa were so keen to find him.

In a strange turn, there is a scene where Julian eats a sandwich. BUT IT CONTAINS THE BLOOD OF HIS ENEMIES.

Okay, it doesn’t really. It contains lettuce.

Maggie Stiefvater has a really interesting post about downtimes for characters, and why we want to see them be happy and relax, because it’s a release of tension, but also the way you buy that relaxation at the expense of plot. I think it’s an interesting piece about how writers calibrate tension and catharsis carefully in books, since too much of one or the other ruins your pacing. She calls scenes where people, say, happily eat a sandwich Ice Cream Cake scenes, which is funny in the sense I’ve always called them frosting scenes — as in, frosting on cake is great but an entire cake made out of frosting is disgusting. So I guess I would say that if you look at my books you can see that characters are usually happy and bantering and doing cute stuff in small moments between bigger ones, or at the end of the book where we sigh, sit back, and allow ourselves to relax.

Merci! ;) I’m fond of Rayan too — along with Divya Joshi he forms a sort of power triad with Diego at the Scholomance, in terms of the Centurions who aren’t assholes. He helps Diego hide Kieran, and rescues Kieran from a specific and unusual torment set up by the Cohort. He also runs afoul of Horace Dearborn . . .

You might well meet Cristina’s mom ;) Jaime has a role in this book, but it is not huge — Diego has a much much bigger role, because Jaime is one of the main characters of TWP and so this series is meant to serve as an introduction to him, not a telling of his story. This is Cristina and Diego’s time (as far as Rosaleses go) and Jaime’s comes later. Jaime’s a lot of fun, so I’m definitely excited for his place at the forefront.

I think it’s natural to look at Dru’s situation (and Helen’s) and think they each just lost a sister, so here’s a sister restored to them, and clearly they would be joyous. And they are, but people are more complex than that. Dru worries Helen has been away so long that they won’t understand each other, and resents Helen for doing the things Julian usually does because it feels to her as if he’s being replaced. Helen worries that Dru won’t love and accept her, and worries she has no idea how to deal with kids or raise them. Aline makes a frittata. It’s not as if they don’t bond, but it’s a complicated path!

Diego is the one who takes care of Kieran in the Scholomance (along with Divya and Rayan) and it’s all from his POV. The Scholomance experience really changes Kieran, in the way he looks at the world, at Shadowhunters and even at his own responsibilities to his people. In the meantime he annoys Diego by sleeping under his bed, and Diego feeds him juice, berries, meat, and anything else unprocessed. :P

Hi Cassie. i absolutely loved kieran! his redemption, his flaws, his strength, his relationship with christina. i have made some awful mistakes, and seeing characters like kieran who have too but then overcome them is so comforting and inspiring, in a way. i am wondering if we will see more of kieran as a character in himself? not just mark's ex, but as the exiled faerie prince? we did a little LM, and i loved it sm! thank u for such a wonderful, diverse cast of characters. much love to you! <3

I’m glad you like Kieran! Of course Kieran’s relationships with other characters, including Cristina and Mark, are extremely significant to him — they are an enormous part of how he has changed, and overcome his past mistakes. All characters are defined in part by their relationships with other characters, as Emma and Julian’s relationship is significant to them, as Emma’s relationship to Malcolm defines her, as Julian’s relationship with Ty changes him, as Mark’s relationships with Kieran, Cristina and Julian define him — we are all an interconnected web of love and friendship and enmity and forgiveness. No man is an island, etc. ;)

That said, Kieran being an exiled Faerie prince has always been significant, from his ability to gather information that would save Tavvy in LM, to his summoning of his father and meeting with Adaon in LoS. It is even more significant in Queen, where we start to see how the politics of faerie are falling apart and building back up again, and what role Kieran has in all of that. Who will sit the Unseelie Throne if not the King we know is a big piece of the QUAAD puzzle, and Kieran is integral to that — with Mark, or Cristina, or both, by his side. ;)

I always love to see love for Helen and Aline! Helen and Aline are back in Queen of Air and Darkness with a bang, and we see how they work with the established dynamic of the LA Institute. Everyone is thrilled to have them back, but it is also weird when a disruption comes to one's life, even if it is a joyful disruption. Aline is always standing up for her lady, and sometimes Helen really needs it.

And in The Eldest Curses, we see Helen and Aline fall in love, and before they are united, they are at odds--Aline wants to protect Alec, and Helen is investigating Magnus and Alec for crimes they may well have committed. Helen feels like she needs to be a great Shadowhunter, to prove her faerie blood doesn't make her prejudiced in favor of Downworlders... and part of why she wants that is that she doesn't want to be an obstacle for any of her little brothers and sisters, who she loves so much. She wants to make her dad and her family proud of her, and to honor the memory of Eleanor Blackthorn, the human mother who took her and Mark in, and raised them as her own. So Helen and Aline's mutual attraction is very complicated. Particularly as Aline isn't out quite yet.

You will see them. POVs are pretty unlikely, but there is a special additional story about them in the first edition of Queen!
