okay i’m about to. make a post on mha characters as quotes from my notes app. but first i have smth to say

i take back what i said about bakugou being present mic and todoroki being aizawa. it’s the opposite. present mic is the one who wants to treat the reporters like villains when they break onto campus. todoroki has no chill. he reacts he doesn’t plan. they’re alike. similarly aizawa is rational and able to take a step back and recognize shit. bakugou also. (thinks abt the third movie when todoroki wants to warn the heroes and bakugou says no because it wouldn’t do them any good.)

also despite being loud, bakugou is actually very contemplative and quiet most of the time? aizawa resemblance. also have you Heard todoroki when he’s moody? little bastard called the chief of police a mangy mutt. not just a mutt. a mangy mutt. guts kid. guts.

ahhh yes I was hoping someone would ask for them ehehe >:3

so just to set the stage here, I fully think both of these gals are crazy about the other, in the way of like, not fully believing that the other can like them back as much as they like them

and I think that would kind of shine trough a little extra on halloween

both of them generally enjoy this holiday, but they had very different ways of celebrating it growing up

In the Yaoyorozu household it was very glammed up, they either went to or hosted these big, fancy costume parties, always with themes, and everything was very polite and almost regal lol

while in the Kyouka house, there were more traditional celebrations, like fun, over the top costumes, giving out candy to the neighborhood kids, and her parents would often let Jirou have halloween parties with her friends when she was still in elementary and middle school

and so when they start dating, they both really want to try to do what they think the other wants

but since neither have much experience with the others ways of celebrating, they seek help elsewhere to surprise the other

Momo goes to Denki, who knows Jirou very well being her bestie, and with Denki comes Kirishima, so now she has a little team on her side

while Jirou seeks out Shouto, who not only knows Momo fairly well, but had a similar upbringing in the sense of the people surrounding their families

and with Shouto comes Izuku, who may not have much experience with fancy halloweens, but he loves love, and since his boyfriend, Kirishima, is suddenly busy helping Momo and Denki with some kind of secret project, he has a lot of extra time

Denki and Kirishima are going all out with Momo's plan, they're planning on decorating Momo's room in a typical halloween way that they hope remind Jioru of her childhood

Kirishima keeps being brought to tears by the whole thing

Shinsou tried to carefully tell his boyfriend that they might be going a little overboard, but it's far too late for that now that Denki is fully invested and hyped

while Jirou managed to get Shouto to help her learn some basic ballroom dances, which makes izuku super emotional, while Bakugo is sitting in a corner huffing and pouting at how Jirou is stealing his boyfriend's precious time that could be spent on him

but he would never admit that out loud

and he would definitely never admit that he kinda thinks the whole thing just a little sweet

so, when halloween finally comes around, they both have plans they're desperately trying to get to work

Jirou is planning on taking Momo out to their special spot in the park by the dorms to look at the stars and then ask her to dance with her and surprise her with knowing how to

and Momo is planning on decorating all of her room in the typical halloween decorations and watch Jirou's favorite scary movies in the new matching PJ's she's gotten for them

luckily, the scheming boyfriends ends up figuring each other out, and therefore manage to avert the crisis somehow

without the girls knowledge, they all band together to sort of morph the two ideas together in Momo's room

they manage to borrow Aoyama's telescope, so they can still stargaze from the room, and the make space so they get to do the dancing, and get all the movies queued up and ready

so naturally, matching PJ's, the Scream movies, stargazing, and slow dancing in their flannel PJ's after the movie marathon becomes their little halloween tradition

the boys are all so fucking proud of themselves lmao, as they should be honestly <3

can’t believe what you see (all eyes on me)- whumptober fill for “waking up disoriented” and direct sequel to “not what time steals,” so same plot/premise.

lie still and let the lights pass by- decidedly unwhumpy whumptober fill for “tossing and turning.” platonic or pre-slash tdbk, there was only one bed, nightmare fic.

wrong place, right time- after all might crushes deku's hero dream, aizawa finds him on the edge of a rooftop, and they have a very long talk. first installment of my quirkless!deku au.

there’s a ringing in my head- whumptober fill for “dazed and confused” featuring concussed!bitty and pre-slash zimbits. iffy on the happy ending bc of miscommunications between jack and bitty.

The Old Guard

in the sea that’s painted black (you’re a king and i’m a lionheart)- au where only nicky was kidnapped by merrick, with much worse and very gross torture, then rescue and healing. and joenicky being in love, of course

walking heavy till the dying’s done- joenicky fic that asks “so what if you were impaled, stuck, but unable to die? wouldn’t that suck?” and yes, it would.

dry drowning- whumptober fill for “running out of air,” ft booker/nile and bonding over quynh dreams

The Raven Cycle

how to keep turning when the world goes still- non-tdt compliant post canon au where adam and ronan are accosted by the past at harvard, and adam doesn’t cope well.

how to be still when the world whirls on- same universe as above, but now facing ronan’s ghost. discussion of past rape/non-con in the usual vein of rovinsky toxicity

stealth missions (your cover’s blown)- transmasc adam has been going stealth at aglionby, terrified that if his all-very-cis friends find out he’s trans, they’ll drop him. turns out he’s wrong about…all of that. mostly platonic gangsey, bit of pynch.

this black thing inside of me (call it irrationality)- also a non-tdt compliant college au, pynch/adam-centric sickfic and emetophobic!adam. sort of a vent/projection fic for me.

hostage situation- whumptober fill for “ransom video,” where greenmantle kidnaps adam to get to the greywaren and ronan goes ballistic.

shields, surrender, shadows on shoulders- whumptober fill for “silent panic attack,” direct sequel to “hostage situation,” covering the hospital visit after the kidnapping.

this circular humanity- whumptober fill for “whipping,” set roughly around dream thieves. pynch crumbs. adam returns to the trailer to speak to his mom, and it does not go well, but his friends help.

old habits- non-tdt compliant au with established pynch, where the boys work through ronan's trauma re: past abusive rovinsky. yes i have two fics like this now, no i don't know why either

Six of Crows

the world owes me nothing (i’m taking from it still)- trans!inej character study set pre-canon, with hints of kanej and lots of Gender Feelings. tagged rape/non-con for canon-typical depictions of inej’s backstory.

without armor (or not at all)- post-ck, kanej, kaz-centric focusing on overcoming his fear of touch. very sweet imo as the author lol.

to take up swords and strike the sea- unfinished 1/3 part pirate!inej fic post-ck. not kanej, not kaz friendly but not kaz unfriendly. inej gets a gf. both of them are trans but that’s just a bg element. also discusses, not in detail, abuse and rape, bc *waves at inej and her entire mission*.

no matter how broken (come home to you)- ck au where inej’s legs are broken by van eck and she grieves, heals, and grows. lots of kanej, lots of crows friendship, lots of disabled characters still being badass.

best laid plans- whumptober fill for “ambush.” pre-canon, jesper, inej, and kaz attempting a bank robbery that goes wrong when dime lions show up. technically sad/cliffhanger ending, but no mc death or anything.

ghost of you- whumptober fill for “back from the dead” ft wesper. jesper doesn’t come back from a job when he says he will, and wylan panics. presumed death and misunderstandings cause angst trope?? my faves

Warrior Cats

swiftpaw’s chance- swiftpaw lives au with bright/swift/cloud, focusing mainly on his journey and healing from the trauma of the dog pack through the rest of tpb. 16/16 chapters.

dusk to dawn- sequel to swiftpaw’s chance, rewrite of the new prophecy focusing on whitewing and nightcloud, then squirrelflight and tawnypelt as well, with others thrown in for spice. 48/70 chapters.

Welcome to Night Vale

unsolvable calamities- carlos goes on a work binge in an attemot to solve night vale and stop so many people from dying, then collapses. cecil helps.

not quite perfect (so you say)- trans!carlos comes out to cecil, panics, and then they have a Talk about how things are different in night vale (they’re better. night vale is queertopia).

wilderness survival guide- whumptober fill for “self-done first aid/makeshift splint.” carlos nearly gets swallowed by the whispering forest and doesn’t make it out unhurt.

Violent Ask Game? Hell yeah! 8, 13, and 16 ❤️‍🔥

People always want to believe the absolute worst intentions from Horikoshi no matter what he does and it makes reading some people's meta an exercise in frustration. I've heard everything from he's a racist, he's pro-police brutality, he's pro-American imperialism, he's a domestic abuse apologist, he's forgiving Endeavor, etc. People project their own fantasies onto BNHA and then get mad and literally make awful shit up about the author when things don't pan out the way they wanted.

Saying Endeavor feels like cheating, so I'm going to go with either Hawks or Aizawa. A strong argument could be made for Dabi too.

I don't see a lot of blorbofication directed towards the kid characters, tbh, but I will say that a lot of kick-the-puppy Shinsou headcanons are super annoying and not supported by canon.

What is with the goddamn urge to hyperfeminize Shouto, especially in TDBK? It's a characterization for him that randomly got super popular within the last year and I don't understand it at all because he's just like, an ordinary teenage boy in canon. Is it because he's a boy character with a kind heart? Is it because you want him to be a bottom and your only knowledge of gay sex is from porn stereotypes? Is it because y'all have decided that every gay ship needs to follow old yaoi tropes?

It has gotten so fucking boring and repetitive. Oh look, he's getting called "princess" again. Oh look, he's in a dress or heels or lingerie again. Oh look, he's randomly smaller and weaker than Katsuki despite the fact that he's canonically taller and broader. Like holy shit, ENOUGH.

i was kinda in an emotional state (don't know how to describe it but it feels like, disconnecting emotionally to the outside world, unsettling, restless). i kinda tried to picture some tdbk headcanon moments in my head (try to calm down), but couldn't get it right with words or dialogue. then with some inexplicable urge i went back to your tlaao and reread todoroki's emotional turmoil (the last half of chapter 9) and, i know it's kinda weird but i feel like missing out this part in other times and todoroki's journey provide some new understandings.

i kinda want to say thanks, it was comforting, can't wait to reread the whole work again

my origin trio as pro heros hc

TODOROKI gets a growth spurt and gets real fucking tall like 6ft3 or 6ft2, walks with 90% legs and accidental sass, a damn model whatever he does, muscly and lean. grows his hair as long as rei and it's so silky. his left side bertrays him when he's trying to hide how flustered he is. becomes a menace to everyone (re: katsuki) when drunk (so fucking flirtatious like where the FUCK did he learn that from) socializing skills getting way better but still needs work

MIDORIYA also gets a growth spurt and reaches like 5ft11, long torso, thicc, BUILT AS FUCK. baby face stays and hair gets curlier and fluffier. his skin gets tanned. a disaster bisexual. goes to his friends' fansigning but gets embarassed when his friends go to HIS fansigning. never. skips. leg. day. real fuckin friendly to literally everyone. but does not hesitate to go feral when needed. becomes a cuddly soft crier when drunk.

BAKUGO becomes the shortest out of the trio. like 5ft8. his arms can and will break your skull. his upper body all jacked but when u look at his waist it's Tiny. like fkin tiny. has ass for days, fashionable as all hell, hair gets fluffier but he had an undercut. smells like caramel. confident gay. (disaster when near the guy he likes cough shoto cough) an honest, easily flustered and sappy drunk. denki has enough blackmail to last forever.

todoroki calls midoriya by izuku and midoriya calls todoroki by shoto. bakugo calls midoriya by izuku too but he is still a little shit and still calls todoroki half and half bastard.

mitsuki, inko, and rei has each other on speed dial for reasons. the three families often have dinners together, and it involves a lot of cooking competition between fuyumi and katsuki. izuku geeks with natsuo and shoto plays along only because he's forbidden from entering the kitchen (td : but katsuki it's my home? bk : yeah and? you're a hazard to any kitchen, stay the fuck away)

It's a mess.... but a good one.

Your two boyfriends are polar opposites

Of course you love them both to death, but sometimes they clash so much you wonder how they entered a poly relationship with one another

They fight... like a lot

They're rarely ever serious though, usually just really stupid stuff

Like Shotos cold soba taking up space in the fridge and Katsuki can't cook even though there's probably plenty of space

And again, polar opposites, so when Katsuki is mad Shoto is completely stagnant

Other fights are usually just with you stuck in the middle because the other wants to spend time with you

Katsuki's been holding you a little too long? Shoto wants his turn

Shoto took you on a soba date yesterday? Katsuki is taking you on a date too

But when they aren't constantly fighting, they're actually really sweet and understanding

If there's something wrong with not just you, but any of you, they're willing to put their differences aside to be there for each other

They often sandwich you and kiss your cheeks before slowly going all over your face, they do it to each other too (Katsuki swats you off like flies but you know he likes it, and Shoto blushes and smiles)

And the same goes for cuddling, when they aren't fighting for turns, you're all bundled up together under a blanket

You do a lot of movie dates together too, which is usually when that happens

Both Shoto and Katsuki are both good at showing love, even if it's in subtle ways

Shoto makes you cold soba when he realizes that you haven't eaten in awhile

It's been a while but I'm back! I've sort of been lurking in fandom spaces again ever since I got back into reading and writing fanfic earlier this year but I haven't posted much here yet so perhaps now is as good a time as any for a quick (re)introduction.

This blog is a mishmash of fandom favorites, headcanons, rambling about fics, as well as other miscellaneous thoughts and things that I find interesting.

Currently, I've fallen deep into the My Hero Academia fandom so that will probably be the majority of the content on here for the foreseeable future.

I've also been writing a ton and I'm in the process of drafting and editing several fics, which I'll be posting about more in the coming weeks. Mostly tdbk/bktd because I love their dynamic but we're multi-ship friendly in this house.

Some background context on the origins of this blog for anyone who's curious:

I used to be deep in the BBC Sherlock fandom around the time S4 was released. My blog name and AO3 username are a play on the Arthur Conan Doyle short story "The Adventure of the Dancing Men". However, as much as I still love the Sherlock fandom, I've drifted away from it in the past few years.

I ultimately decided to keep the same username because dancing is still part of my IRL identity and I didn't want to deal with keeping track of separate accounts. Plus, I have Mina as my dancing (alien) queen now so the name still of works.

Quick TodoBaku Headcanon: If Bakugou is having a particularly bad day or is just generally in a really bad mood, Todoroki will come up to him and say, in full Glamaroki style, "You've got such a beautiful face, my dear. Don't let that frown spoil the effect," because he remembers how much it made Bakugou laugh when Camie did it during their provisional license training.

And it never fails to get Bakugou to laugh, even years later.

todoroki is absolutely convinced bkg and him are the best of friends in the entire world right up until the point they start dating. clean friends to lovers. bkg thinks they went from sworn enemies fated to kill each other to sworn enemies dated to kill each other who also happen to be dating

bkdk and tdbk are opposites in that bkdk are that one mushy couple u hate being around. they PDA all the time dekus always hanging off bkg and kissing him and bkg always has an arm around deku or they’re holding hands. while tdbk literally just hang around each other with no indication that they’re dating. everyone thinks they’re just like mild acquaintances but in reality they’re so in love they just hate PDA

tddk may be best friends and they aren’t jealous of each other dating bkg at all but they love to pretend both of those statements are lies. they’ll just go around joke fighting over bkg so much it seems real. deku is the most possessive little shit and todoroki is wrapped around bkgs little finger and oh lord do they compete for blasty boy love. bkg is so done with them

todoroki and bkg can make each other smile the easiest. they just find joy in each other so effortlessly and don’t really smile that often, but they’re always smiling around each other and share the fact that deku is someone else who can make them smile a lot. but todoroki and bkg smile for each other the most it just comes easy

bkdk are so disgustingly in love that sometimes todoroki feels like a third wheel to his own boyfriend. he’s never jealous of course he just knows they’re more overt with their relationship and he’s very secure in his and bkgs relationship. mostly he finds it funny that bkdk are constantly all over each other and ofc todoroki is very glad they’re in such a good place now.
