Callum, about the timeskip: Were you safe?
Rayla: Your version of safe or mine?
Callum: Mine.
Rayla, quietly, knowing how Callum will react: ...No. Not once.
Tag me if you use.

If S6 leads Callum further down his dark path by having him talk to Kpp'Ar about how to free Rayla's family from their coins
If Stella stole Kpp'Ar from the dungeon when we weren't looking
If Callum has to endure a dark magic nightmare to make contact
If part of the deal is freeing Kpp'Ar too
If Ezran doesn't learn about the coins until it's too late to stop his father's killer from returning
If his brother endured pain and corruption for love and family and all it does is set Ezran against him for siding with the assassin who killed his dad
If the first time Ezran sees Runaan again he has a slow mo murder strut with his bowblade in his hand and the little king breaks and runs again
If the sweet gentle boy who just wanted peace becomes the furious, terrified king who musters his mighty will and heaves the machinery of the cycle back into motion

I couldn't sleep, so my mind went back to a fanfic I never finished, but I remember Rayla being on something like a council to decide if her ghosting would be canceled or not...
And I don't know if you've noticed, but I love angst , so
Tumblr media
So I thought and created ways to hurt myself the most;
What if Rayla went to court regarding her banishment, only for the Silvergrove Council of Elders to decide that she deserved the same punishment she should have received on the spot that night; death
I hate myself so much.
Of course, I did not sleep at all after that thought

There's lots of Rayllum angst going around and I love that but let's pause for a second to talk about Soren and Callum's friendship.
Soren and Callum have known each other for years but have only really become friends very recently. Soren clearly cares about Ezran and Callum a lot, enough that it was one of the reasons he left his dad. The moment Viren asked Soren to kill the princes, he knew something was wrong with this man.
Callum is already the High Mage. He's already isolated and desperate, he's quickly getting obsessed with the mirror. He'll get manipulated by Aaravos one way or another. He'll start changing for the worst and the people around him will notice.
Imagine Soren looking at his friend with concern and fear:
"Callum, you're starting to sound like Viren."

Ya know what my sister just said seeing the trailer?
My fatal mistake was saying that after Callum's cubes star emblem glows, Rayla comes in moonshadow form... okay but like she is not at all connected to the star Arcanum she's got the moon Arcanum...
And then she just goes "what if it's Aaravos in disguise?"
And I'm like "WHY DOES THAT MAKE SENSE?"
We know, if callum has the mirror, Aaravos is for a fact going to manipulate him, many things lead to that... so Rayla's sudden appearance could be a way for him to tap in the very roots of Callum's heart. SO WHAT IF IT IS SOMEHOW AARAVOS?
Or, it's just right before he makes contact with Aaravos, or frees him, the cube is glowing and then Rayla comes idk but why did my sister put that thought out? I have too many thoughts....
I AM LIVING ON ANGST RIGHT NOW—

Do you remember your assassin squad? Do you miss them?
Cuz I do—
Every moment. They trusted me with their honor and their lives, and I had to choose between those things, for all of us. I will remember them, and miss them, and carry my responsibility for their fates, for as long as I exist.

Ethari why wouldn't you let rayla unghosted?
As far as you know, I'm the only elf who has unghosted her.
I couldn't make it stick, though, and I knew that when I tried.
Would you rather I hadn't made the effort at all? Rayla was worth even those few minutes to me!

With the new season The Dragon Prince around the corner, one of the explorations that I'm really excited and intrigued by is Callum potentially and/or most likely falling for Aaravos's Temptation. While rewatching the Season 4 teaser clip, even though he's in a big position, it appears that Callum has become more invested and reliable with the mirror. Wanting to know more about the hidden secrets, mysteries and power that it holds.
Without Rayla by his side, he's lost someone who was his stability, support and who kept him grounded. Being the Mischievous and Persuasive elf that he is, Aaravos's words of wisdom that are conniving yet validated could have devastating consequences and repercussions for Callum if he ends up following, even listening to Aaravos's advice. It makes me extremely worried for Callum's mental/emotional health and well-being.
It exciting yet terrifying to see what happens in Season 4 for all these characters. It's gonna be an epic ride.

They Need Her (Gremaya) - part 2
Word Count: 3k total
Rating: G
Details: Amaya/Gren, Amaya & Gren, Self-Sacrifice, Canon Divergence, Sad, Love Confessions, Possible Character Death, Angst, Not Actually Unrequited Love
————————————————————————–
During the sealing of the breach, Gren comes to a realization and chooses to do something about it. This part explores the aftermath of this for Amaya.
Read below or on Ao3
Amaya’s world exploded as she flew back against the cliffside. Rocks dug into the gaps in her armor. Her body felt heavy as she pushed herself up, the skin of her palms scraping the hard ground.
Tears pushed at her eyes. A moment ago, Gren had stood further along the path--now lava flowed in his place. There was no way he could’ve survived that. She stared into searing heat; it was almost the color of his hair. Like he was still there within the flowing rock. Blinking, tears made their way down her cheeks.
Gren was gone. It had been hard enough to be away from him while he was searching for the princes, or as she now knew, captured by Viren. But he was safe, he’d returned to her.
Behind her, the other soldiers were tying up the unconscious sunfire general. But she felt no satisfaction at that fact nor that they succeeded in closing the breach. This wasn’t a victory at all. She stomped her foot to get her men’s attention and looked toward her replacement interpreter.
“Take her to the dungeon. We will regroup back at the fortress.” She signed, composure returning as she moved her hands with fierce control. The soldiers moved at her words, falling into ranks as they silently made their way to the base of the Standing Battalion. The minimal cavalry they had brought took the lead, pulling empty carts in their stead. No other lives were lost. The elf general was thrown over the shoulder of one man while others nearby kept their hands on their swords. Amaya brought up the rear with a stony expression.
Amaya gazed into the lava as they climbed the rocky path. She paid no attention to the concerned glance Lieutenant Fen sent her way. All she could think about was Gren, her interpreter, her friend, her world. It was all too easy to lose herself the quiet in the years after she lost her sister, to be the strong and silent leader she was supposed to be, not letting anyone in. But Gren had changed that with his calm demeanor and warm smile. His positivity brought new light to her life, and his presence felt more comforting than she could explain.
Her chest was tight as she followed her men. Freckles on pale skin and hair the color of the sunset flashed in her mind. Amaya turned, eyes reaching towards the end of the path, hoping for something else again. Soft blue eyes and a warm hand in hers. When she faced Lieutenant Fen again, her eyes were glistening. She clenched her hands to steel her expression. The march back to the fortress felt longer than it ever had, and she was glad when the stone walls of guardhouse came into view.
While the prisoner was thrown in a cell and supplies were stored, the soldiers gathered in the courtyard to be released for the night. Amaya stood in front of them with Lieutenant Fen beside her.
“Our mission is completed, we succeeded in sealing the Breach. Hopefully it will make our battle against the elves easier and further protect Katolis.” She paused, letting Fen finish translating to the mass of soldiers in stiff attention.
“Commander Gren sacrificed himself to do what we did today. That is why we are still here.”
Her fingers shook.
She pretended not to notice the relief on the soldier’s faces, that she still stood before them, even though their commander didn’t. Thankfully, Fen’s voice was not as rough as hers would be if she knew how to speak.
“Please resume your normal watch duties tomorrow morning.” Amaya kept her eyes firmly on the back of the crowd, careful to remain the strong leader they thought she was. “You are dismissed.”
The mass of soldiers dispersed slowly, making their way towards the barracks with a murmur. Amaya walked to her own chamber with heavy steps. Her shield was suddenly heavy on her back and her armor dug into her skin. There was a tap on her shoulder, emotion caught in her throat as she turned around.
“General… are you all right?” Fen signed, his brown eyes full of concern. His greying hair matched his armor. Amaya faced him with as calm a face as she could muster.
“I’m fine.” Her hands moved more sternly than she intended. Despite being Gren’s replacement, he understood more than the others what he meant to her having seen them reunite. Though the others gossiped and speculated. At least now there would be no more rumors.
“I’m sorry about the commander.” he said. Amaya nodded, her eyes glistening again. She turned away without another word. She was halfway up the stairs when she realized he probably expected more of an answer. But this wasn’t the time for formalities, she didn’t trust her hands right now anyway.
She pulled the door of her chambers with the strength she had left, closing it with a slam she could feel. Without removing her armor, Amaya slumped on her bed, elbows on her knees.
Tears that she’d carefully held onto were finally released, cascading down her scarred cheek in waves. It was like Sarai all over again. What would she do without Gren? Sure, she’d made do the past few weeks but any longer than that… She sobbed harder. She hoped it wasn’t too loud but part of her didn’t care. They were supposed to have more time. He was only twenty-four. Of course, in her line of work she’d seen many go younger than him, but even Sarai had been older. If it wasn’t for Katolis, she didn’t know if she could do this anymore.
I love you. Gren had signed. His last words. It wasn’t until then that Amaya had fully understood her feelings towards him. They’d simply been friends all these years. She hadn’t recognized what that fluttering in her chest was, that elation, that magnetic energy that made her want to be beside him.
She thought it was simply friendship that had warmed her heart more than the breach. Now, when she thought of his bright hair and equally radiant smile, it felt different. She loved him too. But now he would never get to know. Amaya cried till she couldn’t anymore before standing up slowly to get rid of her armor, chest heaving.
She imagined soft hands helping her with the clasps, hands that were more suited to the quill than the sword. Freckled fingers intwined in hers. The metal felt cold against her skin.
Laying in bed, she heaved a few more dry sobs. It was easy to wonder what things could’ve been. If she got there in time, snatched him from the flames. They could be laying here together. The soldiers would talk but it wouldn’t matter anymore, for she would still have her Commander.
I love you Gren. Her fingers spelled to the air.

I really need An Angsty fic with Aaravos and Reader where the reason he helps the Humans get what they want was so that they could destroy Eachother cus the humans killed his lover Aka Reader?
Anyway this is just a Lil idea that popped up I hope it's OK lol :) I luv my starboi☆
im sorry this took so long 😭 i love this request it really made me excited to see!!!! again im so sorry it took forever to get too i was on vacation for a while and i lost track of time <\\\3 anyway, hope u enjoy
🥀Cw: angst with no comfort, aaravos is in mourning, slight descriptions of violence and murder, depression
Tumblr media
your death had been an accident, that is what aaravos had been told. a simple casualty of war, someone who got caught in the cross hairs of something they couldn't control. it was supposed to reassure him, it was supposed to make him feel better about your passing. and yet, it didnt. the screams of anguish that escaped from aaravos' throat cut through the air like a knife through butter, slicing waves of agony over anyone who heard them. you were gone, his precious star.
you had always been so kind, so willing to help others. you had tried to see the good in humans, you had always believed in them. your own sense of justice caused your demise. the beings that you had once loved and cared for so much had slain you, leaving aaravos painfully, dreadfully alone. aaravos remembered you well. he remembered long conversations under the stars, the both of you giggling and smiling as though nothing could ever hurt you now.
"what we have is special", you always told him with a smile. "nothing can hurt us if we have eachother". and yet, you were gone. aaravos woke yet sobbing again, your side of the bed disgustingly cold and empty. the sight of your face and the warmth of your touch was fleeting, disappearing as his dream faded. he tried to reach out, to warn you not to go, but every time you slipped through his fingers, telling you would be just fine. he felt like he was drowning in his own tears, reminiscing your final hours together.
"i'll be back soon my love", you giggled. "theres nothing to worry about. im only visiting the humans again!" despite the overwhelming sense of foreboding gnawing painfully at his gut, aaravos had nodded. oh, how regret burned in his heart at that simple acceptance.
aaravos remembered everything. he had lived a long, long time. he remembered every wound, every scar, and yet none stung as much as your death. he remembered when you first started helping the humans, you had offered magic to those pitiful creatures. aaravos had tried to warn you, he had tried to tell you that this path only led to pain, but you wouldn't listen. you never did. you told him to trust you, and trust you he did. aaravos followed you without a care or a reason, he loved you unconditionally in the same way that the moon loves the sun, always chasing, always wanting, and yet you always slipped away when sunrise came.
another tormenting dream. aaravos woke again, gasping and shivering as tears spilled down his cheeks. he reached towards your side of the bed, than remembered. aaravos layed back down, sinking bitterly into the mattress below him. nothing was comfortable now that you were gone. pastries were not sweet enough, wine was not strong enough, and sleep was not long enough.
the wound that was your death had festered and rotted so much within aaravos' heart that he feared he did not have one anymore. anguish had turned to regret, regret into depression, and depression into anger. the anger had only grown stronger, the loss of your light in his world was too much to bear.
the humans would burn for this, he wanted them all to feel the pain of his rotting heart. they had stolen his life, his love, his sun, and he would steal theirs. the creatures you had onlce loved, the beings you had put so much time and energy into saving, those despicable humans, they would pay. deep down, somewhere broken and small, a voice whispered from aaravos' heart that maybe, just maybe, this wasnt what you would have wanted. but that didnt matter anymore. you werent there to tell him that.
eee hope u enjoyed! this turned out better than expected :0

“…This girl was as keen-eyed as her mother (Lunabloom: A Silvergrove Story).”
Me, thinking about how this normally-observant girl was so excited to be home and show Callum around that she didn’t even notice that the crowd of people around her had no faces.

BH: promises
Remember in TTM when Lujanne said
Tumblr media
It caused a bit of trouble, huh. But Rayla had already been into tricking people in the show
Tumblr media
She waffled on deceiving but in the end she went with it, over and over.
Moonshadow elf thing, I guess.
So now I'm looking at the flashback pool scene in Ghost.
Tumblr media
and again at the mausoleum aftermath in BH
Tumblr media
and I think we have our culprit. Book 'em, Danno.
When Runaan says "I promise," he is lying through his pretty teeth.
He's doing it for the softest reasons - out of love and concern for another. He might not even be intending to lie so much as say whatever it will take in that moment to please Ethari - not killing the truth so much as simply... ignoring it.
And however subtly he acted, Rayla picked up on this habit and she's been doing it too.
Runaan said his injury in BH was "nothing", but we see him later with a nice proper bandage peeping through the big slash in his vest. He was definitely lying then, and Ethari called him out on it, very gently, and patched him up.
if that "promise" was a lie, then every time Runaan promises anything to anyone is suspect now. Including his promise to return to Ethari after the Katolis mission.
Runaan knew what he was up against. It was his job to know that - he's the Moonshadow Assassin Leader. But that doesn't mean he told anyone how shit his odds were. We all say "I'll be fine" to soothe others' worries. But sometimes, we already know we won't be.
I love this, this angst is delicious, if we get more of Runaan in S4 I'll be hanging on his every word, hoping for more "promises."
@random-fandom-ramble it's baked now, come get yer pipin' hot angst!
