Tea I’ve been thinking a lot about carlos in a crop top and needed to share.

The way it would cling to his shoulders and chest but get a little looser at his waist.

The way his abs would be exposed, his belly button and happy trail. The vee of his hips.

He’d wear one around the house in tandem with his grey sweats, knowing your eyes would be glued to him as he walked by.

He’d smirk as your face got hot, a blush rising to your cheeks. Coming over to you, he’d stop right in front of where you are sitting on the couch, your eyes level with his stomach.

He’d scratch at his belly, watching how your eyes followed the movement and you licked your lips.

With a soft chuckle he’d smile down at you knowingly,

i had no clue autistic people had issues with balance and whatnot, thank u for explaining. if u dont mind, could u explain why autistic people avoid eye contact. i know it's uncomfortable, clearly woo young-woo hated it, but i never understood why.

you're welcome!! and i'd be happy to explain!!!! i love science sm and the eye contact thing is soooo intruiging.

the science isn't all there, but there have been several studies on eye contact, and recent studies on autistic ppl's experiences with eye contact have expanded on that knowledge, so we have a pretty clear idea of why it happens.

so firstly, to understand this phenomenon there's something we need to understand abt autism itself. unlike popular opinion and what it may seem outwardly, autistic people don't have a lack of interpersonal connection because of disinterest, selfishness, or lack of concern. what's actually happening is that autistic ppl are, as neuroscientist dr. nouchine hadjikhani puts it, trying "to decrease an unpleasant excessive arousal stemming from overactivation in a particular part of the brain." the thing abt autism is that at its core it's just a Too Much Disorder. our senses are heightened, parts of our brain are overactivated, and things can get to be too much for us. so autistic people aren't selfish or hate people, we're just trying not to be overstimulated and uncomfortable.

scientists in the past have discovered that eye contact activates the brain's subcortical system, which is responsible for memory, emotion, pleasure, and exerting cognitive, affective, and social functions. the subcortical system is what helps newborns have natural orientation towards faces and older humans perceive emotions.

MRI studies on autistic people and eye contact in the Massachusetts General Hospital in 2017 reveal that autistic people are oversensitive to the subcortical activation effects of eye contact. this study supports previous autism experts' hypothesis that there exists an imbalance in autistic ppl's signaling networks. scientists believe this is an evolutionary phenomenon meant to strengthen excitatory signaling in the subcortical circuitry involved in face perception. this causes autistic ppl's brains to basically ring a loud ass alarm without anything to calm it back down. thus an aversion to eye contact is formed and the social brain develops abnormally.

this study supporting the imbalance in the subcortical system also helps explain things like why autistic ppl have issues with perceiving emotions, understanding and applying social rules, and the general phenomenon of innocuous things causing sensory overload.

so basically, autistic brains are oversensitive to the effects of eye contact and because of their sensory input and signaling issues, this translates as discomfort. some autistic ppl say that eye contact literally burns or hurts and it does. ofc some autistic ppl aren't as sensitive as others, so it's once again important to remember that autism is a spectrum and different people have different symptoms in different ways. but it's pretty safe to say that wyw is sensitive to eye contact to at minimum a discomfort level and possibly a painful level as well.

Watching 03 for the first time and Mikey is currently my favorite (I love the show so far btw, it honestly might tie with rise to be my favorite rn)

But I just saw clash of the turtle titans and wow that episode was kinda hard to sit through

oh my god, yeah. clash of the turtle titans is… something.

i remember watching it for the first time (i watched fast forward before seasons 1-5) and since i didn’t fully understand all the character development that he went through, it was fine? played him off to be a total jerk but by then he was already my fav so i was just cringing through his tantrum.

but AFTER seeing him go through all that character development - it does feel out of character. i mean, i can understand him being jealous and feeling ripped off, but the mikey we’ve seen in the past five seasons has gone through a LOT and has reacted more maturely in worse circumstances. it feels like regression AND an amplification of his worst qualities for the writers to have him act like that.

and yea, people regress and have bad days. another straw will break the camel’s back.

but it’s not played off to be that way, which is probably what bugs me the most. by all accounts, mikey has been having a blast in 2105 - walking around without hiding, all the new tech and video games to explore, new foods from different planets to try. they don’t show him having a hard time like raph, so him getting bent up over Turtle Titan II just feels very forced.

i could easily come up with an explanation based on my own headcanons and thoughts, but if the writers themselves didn’t actually put it in canon, it’s still just speculation. which means mikey was just being a brat that day.

i know they went through a change in writers and animators with seasons 6 and 7 but they didn’t have to do my boy so dirty 😭

Hello!! I’m honestly so happy someone requested this.. I love this boy, and when I think of what he went through it makes me so sad. He’s definitely one of my favourite characters and I hate what they did to him.

Anyways! Here are some headcanons for agere Ezekiel. I hope you like them!

- Regresses involuntarily.

- Usually regresses pretty young, babyspace.

- His age is usually around 1-2. I don’t know why but I can also imagine him being a bit older in certain circumstances. Like, he’s usually in baby space but the oldest he’s been is 5 years.

- It happens sometimes that he regresses older, but not very often.

- I can definitely imagine him being non-verbal when younger.

- Or he babbles a lot.

- Stuffed animal hoarder.

- This dude, like, he collects stuffed animals.

- Giant collection. His favourite one is a small rat that he’s had since he was a baby.

- I can imagine him being a pretty playful little, but not that social.

- He likes to regress on his own, but he’s always wanted to try with someone else.

- He’s also very sensitive when little.

- Cries during Disney movie, like, when Bambi’s mom died, or The Lion King or anything like that.

- If he regresses and someone else is near, he’ll usually get really quiet and try to hide himself.

- I don’t know why but I can imagine him being the child that’s so small, he hides in very unusual places.

- Like under the sink, behind the washer, in a cupboard.

- Anywhere that he can fit, he’s going.

Got any 2003 headcanons or Rise headcanons? Do you think thoese 2 shows would work in a crossover?

I think the reasons they work is because, when watching Rise, you can sorta tell they took inspiration from 2003. At it’s core, they’re both very similar in my mind—very heavily focused on family (nigh zero romance!), and 2003 had quite a bit of mysticism and magic which Rise completely ran with the concept of.

That being said, here’s a bunch of random things rattling around in my brain that I wanna see in this crossover:

(for less confusion, i’m calling the 2003 turtles by their full names and Rise by their nicknames)

(This got long, lol. Also CONTAINS SPOILERS for Rise and 2003)

(also apparently i did this a while ago with another ask??? may or may not be outdated idk)

- first off, the reason for the crossover probably has something to do with either the Nexus in 2003, or Leo’s portal sword. The idea of it being All Leo’s Fault… *chef’s kiss* (OR it could have to do with Mikey’s portal opening abilities dhsdh there’s too many ideas that work)

- They first see each other face-to-face and the Rise turtles all glare at Donnie and go “I thought we agreed, NO MORE CLONES” which only leaves the 2003 turtles confused. This might take place after Turtles Forever in which the 2003 turtles are like “aw, shit… here we go again.”

- All of them casually swapping stories that accidentally one-up each other, like this post mentions.

- The whole leadership thing being glossed over by those involved, but the purple and orange turtles all jokingly complaining “when do I get to be the leader??”

- We all know Donnie is very overtly sassy, but I’d like to see him dumbfounded that his seemingly sweet-natured counterpart can dish out sass like nobody’s business. Followed by the 3 other Rise turtles asking to swap because they’d rather have Donatello. (The 2003 turtles all say no. Donnie is offended).

- Raphael is in a mix of awe and jealousy at Raph until he hears the Rise turtles bring up Mrs. Cuddles and then gets into overprotective brother mode, despite Raph being capable of bench-pressing all seven turtles at once.

- Consequently, Raph sees how much the 2003 turtles flick and smack Michelangelo and he confiscated Michelangelo from them. Michelangelo enjoys the attention for exactly 2 seconds before realizing he’s now stuck with an overbearing bodyguard. He asks Mikey how Mikey deals with it. “Scolding him usually works pretty well.”

- The two Splinters swapping recommendations for their favorite shows (they have EXTREMELY DIFFERENT TASTES).

- The two purple turtles creating something insane in one afternoon, like making the base into a giant transforming, flying robot (it was collectively the two orange turtles’ idea).

- You’d think Leonardo would try to scold Leo into acting more mature, but its actually the reverse—Leo corrupts Leonardo into making more bad jokes and puns and smiling more. The 2003 turtles don’t mind. (OR if this is after the Rise movie, Leonardo is the one to encourage Leo into shenanigans. Take your pick).

- Raph is ENAMORED by Klunk. Klunk is happy to soak up the attention. Michelangelo isn’t too pleased with the arrangement, especially when Raph keeps slipping the cat behind his shell in an attempt to steal Klunk.

- Raph and Leonardo constantly yelling at the others to BE CAREFUL and DON’T TOUCH THAT and WATCH OUT and leaning on each other for support as they give an exasperated sigh before following their dumb brothers into the next dangerous adventure. Leonardo introduces Raph to aroma therapy candles to help calm some of the anxiety, and Raph gives Leonardo a teddy bear as thanks. Leonardo keeps the teddy bear.

- I NEED to watch as Michelangelo and Leo both boast of being the Battle Nexus champion, to the groans of the six other turtles. Then they try to decide who is the Ultimate Champion through a series of unrelated trials (skateboarding, cooking, burping the ABCs, coolest moves, etc). Think like the Don vs Raph short from Nick. It’s never resolved.

- Mikey rooting for Michelangelo (so Leo won’t win bragging rights) and just generally becoming Michelangelo’s hype-man. Leo feels betrayed. Michelangelo tries to milk it too hard which leads Mikey to give up the hype-man position (and possibly go Dr Delicate Touch on his counterpart). Michelangelo is heartbroken.

- Raphael joking about offing people, and Donnie pulling out a nuke or something and saying “Would this do?” Raphael doesn’t know where the nuke came from, and he’s not sure he wants to know… (He appreciates the willingness though)

- As far as I’m aware, the Rise turtles have not killed anyone, whereas Leonardo chopped off Shredder’s head (so the intent was there) and Michelangelo blew up a Triceraton at one point. I think those reveals would be very interesting (especially since Donnie is all bark and no bite)

- A weapons swap (where the 2003 turtles have their season 5 mystic weapons). Complete chaos ensues. New York may or may not be repairing itself for the next 3 decades. It also may or may not be the two orange turtles’ fault for chucking skyscrapers at each other (all in good fun, dw).

- By the end they’ve both adopted each other and swapped traumatic stories, so they all fall asleep under a giant heat lamp.
