Can you pretty please write Ruby having to tell Ren and Nora why Jaune isn't with em after coming back?

(Get ready for pain y'all. Also included Oscar, because he deserves it.)

The journey back to Remnant is not pleasant, and Ruby would not recommend it.

Sure, she’s had her fair share of de-materialization, probably more than most people due to the nature of her Semblance. But this is a new flavor of awful.

She feels like she’s being squeezed down a very thin tube, the pressure crushing all the air out of her lungs. Darkness presses in on her eyes like a weight, and after the sensory overload of the Ever After her head pounds from the deafening silence and blackness.

Just when she’s sure she’s going to suffocate, the pressure releases. Light and sound come rushing back. And Ruby falls in a shaking heap in a dune of sand.

For a split second she’s horrified. Her stretched thin hope takes another blow as her exhausted mind is convinced that she’s back on the beach. They’re never going to make it out of here.

At least Jaune won’t be alone.

Ruby coughs out a lungful of sand and the spell is broken. Precious oxygen fills her brain with thoughts. The sand isn’t gold enough, the sky isn’t blue enough. There is only one sun shining down and that gods damned tree is nowhere in sight.

Just the forever rolling dunes of the Vacuo desert.

She smiles weakly. “We made it…”

And her head thuds into the ground as her second interdimensional travel in so many days takes its toll.

“Holy shit, Ruby!” A familiar and welcome voice reaches her, bubblegum pink. The sound of shifting sand accompanies rapid footsteps. “Ren, get over here! I found Ruby!!”

She should respond, probably. “Mmmphhh.” Yes, great job, Ruby. Perfectly articulate.

“Nonono shhh shh,” Nora coos, Ruby’s brain catching up enough to identify the voice. “You don’t need to talk, I’ve gotcha.” Her body is rolled over, her head cradled in Nora’s lap.

Ruby’s eyes crack open, and the blur of orange above her eventually resolves into Nora’s smiling, exhausted face. “Heyyyy... You’re fine, you’re safe.” The sky behind her is dark, the familiar shattered moon creating a halo of glow through her friend’s orange hair. Nora turns to holler over her shoulder. “REN!!!”

“What?” Ren’s distant voice sounds from over a dune.

“Get your ass over here!!”

“I’m helping Sun with Yang!”

Ruby’s eyes fly open, though she isn’t exactly sure when they closed. Where the heck is the rest of her team? “Yang?” she slurs adrenaline fighting dizziness as she attempts to struggle upright. “Where’s-”

“She’s fine, so’s Weiss and Blake,” Nora reassures her. “Here lemme just-” One arm slides under Ruby’s legs and the other nestles her head against Nora’s shoulder. “Don’t want you hurting yourself,” Nora explains as she lifts Ruby and begins trotting off towards Ren’s voice.

It feels like a lifetime ago that Nora was the one being carried, but it can’t have been more than a few days. Gods, how much time has passed for team ALPN while RWBY has been trapped in the Ever After?

Nora explains about Sun finding Blake first when he was on patrol. Neptune found Weiss while his partner was calling for assistance. “We got here just as they started digging Yang out of the sand,” Nora says. She sounds exhausted, and now just because she’s carrying Ruby. “I found you, and here we are.”

“They’re okay?” Ruby asks, thankful for the strength returning to her voice.

“Yeah, they’re all fine. Yang’s still half buried, but she keeps asking about Blake so we’re taking that as a good sign.” Nora snorts. “You should see Weiss. Covered in sand.” Ruby watches as her smile fades away. “I just sort of hoped that if you guys were back then maybe-”

“Oof!” Nora’s words are cut off as Ruby’s vision fills with fluffy brown hair and Oscar Pine envelops them both in an awkward yet crushing hug.

“We thought you all died,” he sobs into her shoulder. Ruby distantly realizes she’s shaking. Huh. That’s new.

“Ruby.” Ren jogs up to them as Oscar finally releases them. “Thank gods.”

Behind him, Sun and Blake are digging Yang out of a dune, and Weiss is wrapped in Winter’s arms. Ruby’s heart feels tight at the sight, and yet lighter than it’s been in recent memory. Ren helps her down from Nora’s arms. Her legs are shaky as a newborn calf, but she’s standing. Nora and Oscar keep an arm around her shoulders to keep her upright.

Or maybe to keep her from vanishing again.

Ren’s smile is warm and more genuine than she’d seen since before Atlas. “It’s… I’m glad you’re back.” His voice is thick with unshed tears as he wraps her in a hug.

“I’m glad to be back.” And it’s sort of shocking when she realizes that… she is happy to be back. “Sorry for worrying you guys.” Ren pulls away and holds her at arm’s length. His eyes flick over her, focusing on something she can’t see and Ruby shifts awkwardly. “What’s uh… what’s up?”

“He’s not here, is he?” Ren says it quietly, almost whispers, and Ruby jolts.

“It has to be me, you’re all the ones who matter.”

“What?! That’s bullshit, Jaune, what about your team?!”

“They don’t need me, not anymore. Or at least not as much as Remnant needs you guys.”

“You can’t believe-”

“You’re okay with just staying here alone?!”

“Of course not. But I’ve been here the longest and… I’ll be fine.”

“Your family, you can’t-”

“You guys are my family, too! Guys please don’t make this harder than it already is-”

“No! We’ll figure out another way, we just need-”

"There isn’t another way! Please just… tell Ren and Nora I love them. And Oscar too. And tell them I’m sorry.”

“Jaune…”

“It’s what she would do.” His voice is thick with tears. He's shaking, and for a moment Ruby realizes that Jaune doesn't want this any more than they do. There just isn't another choice to make.

He’s looking at Ruby through the door. His hand is on Pyrrha’s sash and he’s smiling even as tears run down his cheeks. “Bye guys.”

And the door closes.

Ruby sucks in a gasp and stumbles back. Oscar catches her, already blurting worried assurances, but Nora looks sharply from Ren to Ruby, all her happy-go-lucky masks gone in the face of her partner’s soul-searching truth.

Distantly Ruby realizes that the sounds of digging have halted and the occupants of the sandy valley are all watching their exchange. “No. No that’s not true,” Nora insists. “That’s impossible!” But Ren’s expression is stony, and Ruby’s eyes are welling with tears.

Nora’s grip slackens on Ruby and she falls to the ground. Her fists pound the sand, and she screams until her lungs have no breath, until the air is filled with sobs. Ren is a statue, and she doesn’t have to have his Semblance to see the emotions whirling in a tornado within him. Oscar’s teary expression is distant in that way it always is when he’s talking to Ozpin. Eventually his face tightens and he sinks slowly to the ground, his face in his hands.

“Jaune wanted…” Ruby swallows thickly, tears threatening to steal her words. Somehow her eyes find Yang's, she can't look at the remaining members of ALPN. But this was the last thing her best friend ever asked of her, so she has to try. “He wanted me to say he loves you guys… more than anything.”

“And he’s sorry.”

If RWBY & Co. (IE: Teams RWBY, ALPN + Qrow, Pyrrha & Penny) were a pirate crew in the One Piece World, what would be the following?

A: Each member's respective rolls on the crew? (Aside from Ruby being the Captain)

B: Would they have any devil fruits & if so, which members would have it & what would they be?

C: What would be their specialties in Haki?

D: What would their ship look like?

& E: Would they have a chance to get the One Piece & become King/Queen of the Pirates, assuming their powerscalling would be set into a similar level to One Piece's?

Ngl there's too many of them to think of an accurate enough role

But I'm certain that Weiss would fill Nami's role as the Navigator

-Qrow would have Yami Yami no Mi

-Ruby would have Lufft's Gomu Gomu fruit

-Yang would definitely have Ace's Devil Fruit

-Weiss would probably just not have a devil fruit and make a weapon suitable for herself with Atlas tech

-Blake would get Moku Moku no Mi Devil Fruut

-Jaune would get Law's Devil Fruit( Ope Ope no Mi )

-Nora has the Bomu Bomu no Mi Devil Fruit

-Lie Ren has Ito Ito no Mi Devil Fruit

-Pyrrha has the Yomi Yomi no Mi Devil Fruit

As for Haki

Yang,Nora,Pyrrha would have Armanent Haki

Lie Ren and Weiss would have Observation Haki

Ruby,Qrow and Jaune have Conquers Haki

For the Boats Design

I can see it having a mix of the color palettes of each member of the squad then with the final touches having Zwei be shown on the Flag with a rose emblem around him lol

I think they have a decent chance if this did take place in the realm of One piece for the title of Pirate King or Queen

(Although I feel like Ruby, Weiss,Pyrrha and maybe Jaune might be the only ones who might care about earning that title)

Ruby: i kin her, she's my fav in terms of who i project onto

Weiss: fav girl, love an ice queen

Blake: i think she CAN be interesting, but most versions of her that i like are fanon (but i also hate how a lot of ppl interpret her lmao)

RWBY: Kiss Me

Salem's forces were gathering together for the invasion of Atlas. It was to be their biggesg battle yet. At Schnee Manor, General James Ironwood discussed his plans with Teams RWBY, ALPN, Penny and the Ace Ops. Oscar tried to maintain his composure on the outside. But inside, he was terrified. Fighting Salem's lieutenants in Haven was one thing, but this was a full scale invasion consisting of humans and grimm. He looked over to Yang and tapped the table nervously. Once the meeting was over, he decided to walk up to her.

Oscar: Yang!

Yang: Hm? *turns around* What's up, Oscar?

Oscar: I- *blushes* Um... I just wanted to say...

Yang: Yeah?

Oscar: ...good luck out there. *smiles* All of you. Make sure you kick their ass.

Yang: *smiles* Salem won't know what hit her. *ruffles his hair* Thanks Oscar, make sure you get some rest, okay?

Oscar: Hehe, you got it.

[Whitley's Room]

Whitley: So you didn't tell her?

Oscar: *sighs* I couldn't. It's not like anything would ever happen between us anyway. I mean, she's way too old for me. And even if I was old enough, I'm no good for her.

Whitley: Well you're not gonna get anywhere by sulking about it. Listen, let me give you some advice; survive this fight and then tell her how you feel.

Oscar: But-

Whitley: But nothing. If you don't tell her, you'll regret it.

Oscar: ...I guess you're right.

Whitley: Of course I am. Now turn off the lights and go to sleep.

Oscar: Thanks, Whit. Goodnight. *smiles* So... are you gonna tell Penny?

Whitley: Gck! Shut up!

[Outside Schnee Manor]

Sifting on a swing, Oscar watched on as everyone was training. He saw Yang fighting against Ren in hand to hand combat. Their was a furious beauty to her movements and strikes. From his scroll, he reminisced at the selfie Yang took of the two of them during their first training session. He smiled widely and chuckled.

Oscar: *closes eyes* 🎵If we could take a photo, eternalize this moment for the days when I don't believe. When our love gets stolen 'cause there's no exception and I know time will take you far from me🎵

🎵Let this night invade my lungs. You're all I wanna breathe. Right beside the lake, I burn for you, you burn for me.🎵

🎵So kiss me the way that you would if we died tonight! Hold me the way that you would for the final time! Whatever may come, somewhere deep inside, there's always this version of you and I! So just kiss me the way that you would if we died tonight! If we died tonight, yeah!🎵

Ruby: Oscar! General Ironwood says it's our turn!

Oscar: Gah! I'm coming, Ruby!

Frantically, Oscar ran to her, leaving behind his scroll that still had the picture of him and Yang.

[5 Years Later]

Oscar: 🎵So kiss me the way that you would if we died tonight! Hold me the way that you would for the final time! Whatever may come, somewhere deep inside, there's always this version of you and I! So just kiss me the way that you would if we died tonight! If we died tonight, yeah!🎵

Yang: *hugs him from behind* You know you don't have almost die in order for me to kiss you. *giggles*

Oscar: *chuckles* Yeah I know. Besides, I like this better. *holds her hand and kisses it*

Yang: Me too. *kisses his cheek* No missions, no grimm, no Kingdom disputes.

Oscar: *turns around and holda her* I love you.

Yang: *holds him* I love you too.

The two of them.leaned in together and sealed their lips with a loving kiss.

I'm about to ruin the team ALPN silhouette shirt for every mfer here.

This is my very quickly taken copy of the shirt. I wear it all the time and I love it. But only now, looking at it while it's hung infront of my wardrobe did I notice some issues.

1) Ren and Nora

They're fine.

Silhouettes are nice and clear, taken from v7 marketing poses.

2) Oscar

Uhh I like his pose but Oscar only has one marketing pose and it's not this. I much prefer his silhouette to his marketing pose actually.

(bonus, he is holding his stick wrong once again in the marketing pose why roosterteeth)

I'm inclined to think this pose is the same one as his pose in the v7 intro (which uses different silhouettes that are just as confusing) but idk 🤷‍♀️

If it is, they cut his mf stick out. Why.

Anyway I don't recognize a lot of the silhouettes in the v7 intro anyway but if you recognize the silhouette they use for Oscar on the shirt from anywhere, can u give to me pls :)

3) Jaune

That's his mf V4 outfit. And haircut. Everyone else is in Atlas gear but Jaune wanted to be special I guess. Don't know where this silhouette is from either but it isn't a marketing pose and I don't recognize it from the show??? Why are they like this (roosterteeth marketing team)

I've had a bad few days at work so im gonna make a rwby so self indulgent it kills me so most if it will be oscar and team arson fluff and maybe some angst

Do I think any of these are or should be cannon probably not but they make my heart fuzzy

Cuddle piles all of arson take naps together a tradition originally started by Nora after she found Oscar napping after training and decided to join him eventually it evolved into the whole team cuddling while they nap at first emerald is super weirded out by the question but agreed anyway and Nora kinda doesn't want her to join in at first but she cant say no to oscars puppy dog eyes as soon as it started emerald melts and passes the fuck out and ever sense she gets grumpy(more than usual) if they don't nap in a few days

After atlas leadership falls on Oscar winter tries but the others don't trust her like they trust Oscar and winter honestly isn't opposed to not being in charge for fear of becoming like James

Speaking of winter she respects Oscar a lot and doesn't let him being a kid stop her from trusting him not as blind as she did James but trust none the less

They also do some training together as winter is the most experienced fighter besides ozpin with them she's a good teacher as we see with Weiss and Oscar likes her tough love teaching style

(This one's very specific shit and a little dumb)

After loosing jaune ren and nora start to get a little over protective Nora holds Oscars hand whenever there in crowds and ren always walks behind him if there's a chance of him slipping away I think that if its not addressed it gets worse to the point of almost paranoia because of how horrified of loosing another teammate they are some refugees get into a fight over sleeping spots and Oscar tries to break it up and gets shoved down and Nora overreact threading the assailant more than necessary and after Oscar and her have a long conversation about her fears and some of them are put to bed

Oscar doesn't give up on team rwbyj if the others belive they are dead hes not super vocal about still beliveing there alive but if hes asked he doesn't hide it

He keeps a journal of everything that happens while there gone for them and even writes letters to each of the fallen lots to ruby and jaune most of which he never gives either of them out of embarrassment

Oscar is more angry than he seems but is too scared to blow up or yell like he wants so i think he writes to take out his frustrations maybe some of its poetry or self indulgent revenge tales he feels guilty no matter what and hides them

Oscar and Whitely are friends its not instant i think Whitely is wary of anyone who isn't willow or winter at first but I think he warms up to Oscar the fastest it starts with awkward small talk but grows quickly

I think they play swords with sticks and winter find them and turns it into training but there both still having fun so it doesn't matter

I think winter starts training Whitely and asks Oscar to spare with him sense he's closest to his skill level Oscar takes it easy on Whitely till he gets his bearings and finds Whitely fun to fight so they spare often even with winter training him I don't think Whitely wins often as Oscar has real combat experience but there not overly competitive

Not a head cannon but just an idea since long memory is basically used like a blunt rapier it would be cool if Oscar adopted sword and pistol or sword and dagger like winter i just think it would be neat as well as Oscar to differentiate himself from oz (also if he does sword and dagger the knife is called either pine needle or roses thorn)

Oscar is a morning person on his team only jaune is also a morning person so this leads to his whole team groaning at his morning chipperness

Oscar and jaune are the only ones who drink coffee on team arson ren likes tea emerald prefers energy drinks and Nora hates the way caffeine makes her feel and can barely tolerate soda

Oscar drinks his coffee black and jaune likes lots of sugar so Oscar wakes up extra early to make jaune coffee so he doesn't have to and so he can spend more time with jaune

Southern Oscar

he says y'all and aint like a mother fucker and it pissed Whitely off to no end because of how much of a grammar Nazi Jacque probably was

He also loves country music and has a soft spot for the sad stuff he also likes to sing and is pretty good he even sometimes sings while jaune plays guitar he gets very shy tho and will only let team arson listen and maybe the others but he needs to be hyped up first

Oscar and ozpin sing duets in there head all the time it's very cute and even if oz can't sign he likes to hear Oscar sing and he's less embarrassed if someone sings along

Emerald finds Oscar needs to be hyped up pretty often and just decides that she's gonna take every opportunity to do so oh hes feeling insecure about his looks she tells him how handsome he is and how much she likes the way he dresses he doesnt like his height short king all the way of if he's doubling himself she reminds him that she trusts him tho usually not those exact words

(if y'all think this is me shipping them grody let friends gas up friends platonically)

Emerald is very nice but lived in a way where being nice hurt her so now she's catching up on all her kindness with Oscar shes instantly glued to his hip as I think she's an awkward person at heart when she's not scamming or lying and uses being mean and sassy to hide it and she knows Oscar the best so she sticks with him but she feel like she's being annoying so unnecessarily bribes him with food and stuff to hang out with her most of the time they plan on going to eat but do something completely different

Oscar can dance not waltz or tango or nothing fancy just simple things line dancing and stuff you learn in school

Oscars aunt is a big smocker and when he was 12 she got the nastiest brand of cigarette she could and left is somewhere gross so it would get all tar tasting and let him smoke it safe to say Oscar still gags if he smells tobacco smoke

Now these are some rosegarden ones so you can skip that if that's not your style

Oscar has never even kissed a girl before ruby not counting his aunt kissing he cheeks or forehead so he's really scared of messing it up but I head cannon ruby as maybe having kissed one other person but him so she's not any more experienced and there just so perfectly bad at it together

Ruby knows Oscar isn't a huge fan of pda so she tries to keep it to incocent hand holding and occasionally a kiss on the cheek or a goodbye kiss

Oscar is little spoon he likes to feel safe and ruby is a protector and likes to make Oscar feel safe rarely and usually only when she's had nightmares is she little spoon and Oscar doesn't mind

They both are confident people in many ways but are also deeply insecure about many other things oscar doesn't like his height or his scars and i think ruby doesn't like her hands (I actually have a wip I'll never finish about this exact thing )

Ruby definitely gets jealous more than Oscar especially before there officially dating and she hates it she knows its stupid to get jealous over him blushing at neon or holding noras hand or giggling at one of yangs dumb jokes and she tries not to let it get to her especially sense she knows for sure Nora and yang Arent doing it on purpose but she does politely ask neon to stop and she does instead now she teases ruby

I think they don't fight often its usually more tension than fighting them both knowing something is wrong but can't or wont talk about it but when they do fight its usually not for very long they both hate it however they argue constantly but its in good fun and usually about meaningless things like what comic is better or what to have for dinner

As we've seen in volume 8 if ruby gets upset she can yell and she hates doing it especially cause oscar hates it so much

And Oscar is stubborn as hell if he believes he's in the right until ruby yells then he folds and looses all his confidence and that's usually how there arguments end is them apologizing to each other and maybe crying a little

When ruby and Oscar first meet Oscar has never read a comic book before his local library didn't have any so ruby loves showing him the world of comic books which leads them to staying up late into the night discussing them and falling asleep on each other while reading yang and Nora take lots of pictures to tease them with later

I actually don't know if they ever get married I think neither would feel the need but say they do Weiss definitely plans it and is rubies brides maid along with the rest do wby

Jaune is Oscars best man and helps Weiss with the planning

Both of there stag parties are polar opposites Oscars is just him and the guys hanging out and chilling while having fun and rubies is a 9 hour journey where multiple felonies are committed and someone maybe dies ruby made all of them swear to secrecy cause oscar might have a heart attack otherwise

When they first get together yang decides to give them both the talk and its so awkward and yang is so bad at it so eventually blake and ren step in and explain things to them and ruby and Oscar are both still super embarrassed

Yang is very supportive of there relationship she wants ruby to be happy and trusts her to make her own decisions and trusts Oscar not to intentionally hurt her

Qrow on the other hand does not his reasoning being that Oscar might not be long for this world and that will only make ruby more unhappy in the long term but he doesn't stop them hes not her dad and he doesn't get to tell her what to do he knows that and he respects rubies decision to stick by Oscar very early on he decides to try to talk Oscar out of it and he in essence tells qrow to go fuck himself in the least insulting way possible and he respects Oscar for it

Tai and oscar hit it off when they meet they share in a loving of cooking and gardening they are both also huge softies tai of course does the shovel talk but doesn't even take himself seriously when he does and neither does Oscar
