some fun facts for the @tournament-of-x voters
The oldest contestants currently in the match (and by oldest, I mean “the date of their first appearance”, not their actual ages) are Magneto, Jean Grey, Bobby Drake/Iceman, and Scott Summers/Cyclops. All four of them first appear in X-Men #1 in 1963.
The youngest contestant currently in the match (again, in terms of the dates of their first appearance, not actual age) is Gwendolyn Poole/Gwenpool, who first debuted in Howard the Duck #1 in 2015.
Of the contestants, only Laura Kinney/Wolverine appeared first on screen -- her first ever appearance was in Season 3, Episode 10 of X-Men: Evolution in August of 2003. This would be later followed by her first comic appearance in NYX #3, in December of 2003.
As far as classic teams go: the 33 characters remaining include three of the original five X-Men (Jean, Bobby, Scott), four of the classic nine New Mutants (Xuân Cao Mạnh/Karma, Dani Moonstar/Mirage, Roberto da Costa/Sunspot, and Illyana Rasputin/Magik -- Dani, Xuân, and Roberto are also founding members), and two people who have two first appearances (both Illyana and Nathan Summers/Cable appear in canon continuity as babies/toddlers prior to appearing later under their aliases -- Illyana appears in Giant-Sized X-Men #1 in 1975 and Nathan appears in Uncanny X-Men #201 in 1985). Two contestants are also part of the iconic Giant-Sized X-Men team created in 1975 -- Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler and Ororo Munroe/Storm. Two members of the original Generation X remain (Monet St. Croix/M/Penance and Jubilation Lee/Jubilee), as well as two from the Academy X era (David Alleyne and Megan Gwynn, from the New Mutants second generation team and the Paragons, respectively), three if you choose to count Laura Kinney/Wolverine, who joined the remaining students of New X-Men vol. 2 just after M-Day.
All the contestants save nine made their first appearances in X-books (X-Men, Giant-Sized X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, New Mutants, X-Factor, X-Force, Generation X, X-Men: Evolution and New X-Men). The ones who do not first appear in X-books are Mystique (Ms. Marvel #18 in 1978, though she technically had a cameo appearance two issues prior), Xuân Cao Mạnh/Karma (Marvel Team-Up #100 in 1980), Anna Marie Lebeau/Rogue (Avengers Annual #10, 1981), Dani Moonstar/Mirage and Roberto da Costa/Sunspot (both in Marvel Graphic Novel #4 in 1983), Billy Kaplan-Altman/Wiccan (Young Avengers #1, 2005), Tommy Shepherd/Speed (Young Avengers #10, 2006), Eden Fesi/Manifold (Secret Warriors #4, 2009), and Gwendolyn Poole/Gwenpool (Howard the Duck #1, 2015).
Demographically speaking, four characters in the tournament are canonically Jewish -- Magneto, Kate Pryde, Billy Kaplan-Altman/Wiccan, and Bobby Drake/Iceman (thanks for the reminder, @/ant-ifascottlang!) Though it hasn’t been confirmed, one might assume that Tommy Shepherd/Speed and Lorna Dane/Polaris are also Jewish, being related to them.
The 70s and the 80s are proving themselves to be the most popular -- 8 candidates that were created in the 70s are still in the tournament (Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler, Ororo Munroe/Storm, Illyana Rasputin/Magik, Mystique, Jean-Paul Beaubier/Northstar, Jeanne-Marie Beaubier/Aurora, Kitty/Kate Pryde, and Emma Frost/White Queen), and 8 characters created in the 80s are still in the tournament as well (Irene Adler/Destiny, Xuân Cao Mạnh/Karma, Anna Marie Lebeau/Rogue, Dani Moonstar/Mirage, Roberto da Costa/Sunspot, Nathan Summers/Cable, Julio Richter/Rictor, and Jubilation Lee/Jubilee).
Of the other decades: seven characters were introduced in the 2000s (Eloise Phimister/Negasonic Teenage Warhead, David Alleyne/Prodigy, Laura Kinney/Wolverine, Megan Gwynn/Pixie, Billy Kaplan-Altman/Wiccan, Tommy Shepherd/Speed, and Eden Fesi/Manifold), five were introduced in the 60s (Magneto, Jean Grey, Bobby Drake/Iceman, Scott Summers/Cyclops, and Lorna Dane/Polaris), and four were introduced in the 90s (Remy Lebeau/Gambit, Lucas Bishop, Neena Thurman/Domino, and Monet St. Croix/M/Penance). Gwendolyn Poole/Gwenpool is the only character remaining in the tournament to be introduced after 2010.
One character is canonically Muslim -- Monet St. Croix/M/Penance.
Eleven characters are canonically LGBTQ+: Bobby Drake/Iceman, Mystique, Jean-Paul Beaubier/Northstar, Kitty/Kate Pryde, Irene Adler/Destiny, Xuân Cao Mạnh/Karma, Julio Richter/Rictor, David Alleyne/Prodigy, Billy Kaplan-Altman/Wiccan, Tommy Shepherd/Speed, and Gwendolyn Poole/Gwenpool.
Laura Kinney/Wolverine, Remy Lebeau/Gambit (thanks for the reminder, @/souldagger!) and Megan Gwynn/Pixie have been confirmed by writers to be queer, but there has been no on-panel confirmation for any of them beyond Pixie’s appearance/alternate dimension self in Secret Wars.
Without counting the upcoming Uncanny Avengers, at least three characters have been recurring Avengers -- Anna Marie Lebeau/Rogue, Roberto da Costa/Sunspot, and Eden Fesi/Manifold. Rogue and Sunspot also notably led teams of Avengers. Several other candidates have been Young Avengers -- David Alleyne/Prodigy, Billy Kaplan-Altman/Wiccan (who was a founding member), and Tommy Shepherd/Speed.
Ten characters are mutants of color -- Ororo Munroe/Storm is Kenyan-American and grew up in Cairo, Xuân Cao Mạnh/Karma is Vietnamese, Dani Moonstar/Mirage is Indigenous American, specifically Cheyenne, Roberto da Costa is Afrolatino and from Brazil, Julio Richter/Rictor is Mexican, Jubilation Lee/Jubilee is Chinese-American, Lucas Bishop is Aboriginal Australian/Black American (according to Chris Claremont, who confirmed that Bishop is indeed descended from Aboriginal Australian mutant Gateway), Monet St. Croix/M/Penance is Monacan-Algerian, David Alleyne/Prodigy is a Black American, and Eden Fesi/Manifold is Aboriginal Australian.
While Laura Kinney/Wolverine first appeared as a visibly brown girl in X-Men: Evolution, her design has since been lightened and she does not have a confirmed ethnicity.
Only eight of the remaining contestants have never appeared in live-action adaptations -- Irene Adler/Destiny, Xuân Cao Mạnh/Karma (though her name is shown on a computer screen in X2: X-Men United), Jean-Paul Beaubier/Northstar, Jeanne-Marie Beaubier/Aurora, David Alleyne/Prodigy, Megan Gwynn/Pixie, Eden Fesi/Manifold, and Gwendolyn Poole/Gwenpool. Of these, only Karma, Penance, Prodigy, Manifold, and Gwenpool have no on-screen appearances at all -- the others appear in the various animated series (Destiny has a recurring appearance in X-Men: Evolution, Pixie pops up in Wolverine and the X-Men, and the Beaubier twins appear in the X-Men cartoon of the 90s). While Penance is listed on Wikipedia as being in Wolverine and the X-Men, it does not cite an episode, though her twin younger sisters appear in Season 1 Episode 10 “Greetings from Genosha.” **this post has been corrected -- Monet St. Croix/M/Penance appears in the direct to TV Generation X movie (thanks for the reminder, @/cranechel!)

A Completely Unbiased and Totally Comprehensive Beast Reading List, Pt. 1
Tumblr media
As a member of the first class of X-Men, the intelligently gifted Dr. Hank McCoy has been fighting for the peaceful coexistence between mutants and humans for most of his life, under the tutelage of Professor Xavier. Born with an enhanced physique, strength, and muscular structure, he has adopted the name Beast.
Well, hello there, friends! Welcome to a completely unbiased, totally comprehensive, not at all too long reading list that aims to show you the story of everyone's favourite Beast, from start to finish!
Tumblr media
Origins
As one of the original X-Men, Beast features in almost every issue of the very first iteration of the team - but to put it bluntly, 60s X-Men sucks, and I want you to enjoy this character, so we're going to start with some aggressive curation.
X-Men Origins: Beast, by Mike Carey - a solo story that retells Hank's origins, including his pre-X-Men life, and an insight into his mindset, his relationship with humanity, and his first meeting with the X-Men. It also happens to have some rather lovely art, and a fantastic last page spread that expresses a lot of what makes Hank a brilliant character. X-Men: First Class, by Jeff Parker - a collection of mini-series that fill in the gaps between stories in the original run of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's X-Men, this run is extremely readable, and does a very good job of forming a cohesive characterisation of both Hank, the X-Men, and, particularly, Professor Xavier. You do not need to have any former knowledge of anything X-Men to read this run. Issues of Particular Note: (2006) #8; the meeting of Hank and Gorilla Man, who have a cute dynamic, and if you like Gorilla Man, you should read Agents of Atlas by Parker as well. (2007) #4; the foundation of Hank's friendship with Bobby Drake, aka Iceman. These two were thick as thieves all the way up until the late 00s. Giant-Sized Special; a collection of short fun little stories with varying art styles, featuring Hank on small solo adventures or in duos with the other X-Men. Finals #2; Hank deciding to leave the X-Men, and become his own man.
X-Men: Season One by Dennis Hopeless is a standalone graphic novel that aims to retell the early days of the X-Men from the perspective of Jean Grey, and features Hank fairly prominently. If you want to be more up to code on early X-Men history without dealing with issues of the 60s run, this would be a good place to do it.
And of course, Uncanny X-Men vol. 1. While I would not advise reading this run in its entirety, dipping your toe in to get some appreciation for what 60s comics were like and how far we've come isn't an awful idea. Issues of Particular Note: #7 Hank is momentarily abducted by a beatnik foot cult. No notes, this is just a funny situation that Hank ends up in. #8; one of the first instances of anti-mutant hysteria in an X-Men book, the first time Hank left the X-Men, and also the origin of his short career as a professional wrestler. #47; Hank and Bobby go on a double date with their girlfriends and get interrupted by superhero shenanigans.
Tumblr media
Grey
With Hank having now left the X-Men, he has a rendezvous with destiny, and while this is going to be a very short period on our reading list, it's a very formative one for young Hank.
Amazing Adventures #11-17, by Gerry Conway, Steve Englehart, and Arnold Drake. Honestly, just read this entire run - you basically get a very well contained story that delves into Hank at a very young age, and while this may be a series from the 1970s, it's actually surprisingly modern in its approach to Hank as a character. It's also interesting to see the introduction of a more horror/wolfman aspect to Hank's character, which is largely due to the contemporary popularity of Werewolf-by-Night. It all caps off with issue #17, which collects a number of back-up stories that originally came from Uncanny X-Men, that tell Hank's origin in its uncondensed form. If you started with Carey's Origins book, these story beats will be very familiar, but it's interesting to see what parts were cut and which were preserved.
A companion story that goes back and revisits this very interesting period of Hank's life can be found in X-Men Unlimited vol. 2 #10, as one of the two stories contained there. Sliding somewhere in between issues of Amazing Adventures, it provides a modern emotional context for Hank's transformation, and I feel obliged to warn you that this is a very heavy story. If stories about depression, radiation sickness, or familial death are triggering for you, approach with caution.
Tumblr media
Avengers
As you may have noticed, Hank has now changed from grey to his more familiar blue! This is due to printing limitations of the time, where attempts to render black or grey often ended up producing a shade that looked closer to blue. But enough of that malarkey, let's talk about everyone's favourite Bouncing Baby Blue Beast!
Avengers vol. 1, by . . . so many writers, but the most significant include Jim Shooter, Gerry Conway, Steve Englehart, David Michelinie, Bill Mantlo, etc. As the first X-Man to cross teams, Hank made history, and he quickly settled in nicely to the bitchy, high octane, absolutely bonkers world of 70s Marvel. Among other things, this is where he forms lifelong friendships with Carol Danvers, Steve Rogers, and, perhaps most importantly, Simon Williams. Honestly, this entire run has its ups and downs, but I'd recommend reading it from start to finish, just because it's fun, and Hank is so much fun in it. If you're more used to buzzkill Beast from the modern era, you'll be shocked at just how much of a kind-hearted goof he is here. Although, maybe skip the Korvac Saga. Issues of Particular Note: #137, which features Hank's initial tryout for the Avengers, with some story beats that will have particular resonance if you read Amazing Adventures or X-Men Unlimited, recommended above. #141, which sees the beginning of the origins of Patsy Walker, who you might know better as Hellcat, and who will become an important part of our story later. #148, which sees Hank embrace his disguise gimmick - while pretty much abandoned from this point on, it was arguably never going to get better than the trick he pulls here. Avengers Annual #6, which sees the origins of Hank and Simon's wonder-ful relationship. Whether you read them as friends or more, it really is a ton of fun to see just how quickly they glom onto each other as partners. #160 digs a little deeper into Hank's dynamic on the Avengers, and, if you aren't doing a full readthrough, this provides an interesting perspective on what Hank brings to the team, which is paid off in #163 and #164. Can you guess what it is? Yep . . . sex symbol. This is the origin of Hank McCoy, original mutant fuck machine, baybeeee. #171 sees Hank speaking Latin, being kind of a shit to Ms. Marvel, and being called a slut by Thor, which is kind of amazing, tbh. But Hank then proceeds to disappear for a bit, dodging the really rather awful Korvac Saga, so if you want to read more about our boy, you can jump right ahead to #178, where they make up for his brief absence by psychologically torturing him! Yeah! Love it! Next big issue of note is #188, where the Avengers get political, Hank gets to hold Ms. Marvel's laser gatling gun backpack, and press his nose against a plane window like a small child (it's better than I'm making it sound)! #194 has Hank at his best, to be quite honest, and is an all around nice little slice of life, quiet issue for the Avengers, for those of you who miss such things in comics. #206 features Hank speaking every language he knows for an entire issue, on . . . well, honestly, not even a dare, he just does it. #209, meanwhile is . . . heavy. Trigger warnings for the Shoah, the Holocaust, concentration camps, and a lot of dark subject matter, but it does showcase Hank at arguably his most heroic and his most tender. And then, finally, we reach the end of Hank's tenure with the Avengers, at #211, where . . . well, honestly? He leaves because his boyfriend is leaving. There's no other way to interpret it, that's just the text. He'll of course join the Avengers again, and is always active as a reservist, but for now, he's to move on to greener, more defensive pastures. In between these appearances, it's also worth checking out the absolutely iconic Dark Phoenix Saga. If you think you know this story from the adaptations in X-Men 3 or Dark Phoenix, trust me, you don't - this is the real story, as it should always have been. Hank only joins in on the story in the last third, but if you ever doubted his commitment to the X-Men, his friends, or the ideals of justice, look no further. And guess what, it's just a damned good story, starting at Uncanny X-Men #129 and going on to #138.
Hank also makes guest appearances in Uncanny X-Men #111 to #114, where he first properly meets the second generation of X-Men, though as you'll see, it's far from the most orderly or normal of introductions. For those of you who don't know about Chris Claremont and his predilections, you will learn - great writer, absolutely fundamental to the X-Men, but . . . hoo boy.
That's what I've got for you for the moment! I will be adding the next sections as separate posts, so that this doesn't get too long - feel free to check back here, or just keep your eyes peeled in the Hank McCoy tag, so that you don't miss the next section, as we move into the 80s proper! Also, I may be adding new issues here and there, as I remember things, so check back if you want to hear more about Beast's early years!

Okay, another few questions:
1, how old were the original five X-Men at their introduction? 2, how old were they (OG team) when Banshee and the other "new X-Men" joined Cyclops in stopping Krakoa? And 3, how old were the original five when M-Day happened?
Sorry, these are details I just want to know for myself. Hope you don't mind the questioning, and keep up the good work!
According to [Uncanny] X-Men #1, Bobby Drake was sixteen when the team made its public debut. Furthermore he describes himself as a "couple" of years younger than his friends. We also know that Hank is somewhat older than Scott, Warren, and Jean. So, the short answer to your first question is: Bobby is 16, Warren, Scott, and Jean are 18, and Hank is probably 18 or 19.
It's not specifically clear whether Bobby is literally two years younger, or if "couple" is being used in a more figurative sense. I think it's safe to take at face value though, given that he is clearly presented as a member of their age cohort (along with Lorna and Alex); is meant to be reasonably close to the same age as Peter Parker and Johnny Storm (who should also be in the same general range as the original X-Men, as they were all teenagers at the same time); and lastly when Claremont revived the X-Men publication years later, Bobby was depicted as now comfortably a young adult, finishing up his accounting degree, at the same time that Jean was dealing with her first job drama, and Warren was off with the family business.
I also think it's safe to guess Hank is no more than a year older than the others. He's treated as a peer of his teammates rather than as a helper to the Professor, and seems comfortable as a member of the group even outside of X-Men training. Hank's more advanced academic pursuits with respect to his teammates are also shown to be a product of his intelligence and not simply him being in a more senior class, which I think furthermore point to him being loosely their age.
Later authors have occasionally given different ages to the first team, or at least to Scott. Bendis, who wrote them for the longest, identifies the younger Scott as sixteen when he first comes face to face with his modern counterpart (Uncanny X-Men volume 3 no. 12). In Matt Fraction's inexplicably titled Dark Avengers/Uncanny X-Men: Exodus, Scott gives a televised speech in which he claims to have joined the X-Men at age 15. And in Stuart Moore's X-Men Origins Cyclops, Scott is shown to have first met Charles when he was 17 (which works), but he also dates X-Men #1 as taking place when Scott was 21 (which contradicts every other version of the story).
I think it makes the most sense to just go with the original story, and take 18 as the team's median age. I think you could also just as well argue that the 15-17 number isn't in contradiction per se, but only reflects Scott's age when Charles started training him, or even when he first became Cyclops, and not his age in X-Men #1 when Jean joined the team and they confronted Magneto for the first time.
I know some fans also feel that the Bendis' run discounts the possibility that they're in their late teens, because he writes them so young, but I think that's kind of ridiculous. Bendis writes everyone like that, and in any case people are basically the same at 14 as they are at 34, so how much more mature does anyone get from 16 to 18, really?
I think having them remain (mostly) at 18+ is the most plausible reading of the original run, and the most consistent with their general dislike of Charles recruiting actual child soldiers in later classes, and as well with Marvel's editorial policy that the X-Men have existed for ten years in-universe in perpetuity and are now just shy of 30.
Second question: Their ages later on, when the All-New, All-Different team first formed aren't given directly, but they're easy to work out.
Tumblr media
So, at time of first death, Jean was 24ish depending on when her birthday falls in the year. Scott and Warren are the same age, Bobby is two years younger, and Hank is probably around 1 year older.
How much time passes between Jean's introduction to Storm, Thunderbird, Wolverine, Banshee, etc and her death isn't specified, and during his first run, Claremont tried to maintain a pretense of everything occurring in real time, but already it had started to become untenable and can't be trusted.
At the time of Jean's death, the core Claremont trio of Storm, Wolverine, and Nightcrawler are still very early in getting to know each other as people, despite spending a lot of time together on page. So I think it's very likely that only a few months have passed between the new recruits joining the team and when Jean died and the remaining original X-Men make their departure. So I would just treat the Dark Phoenix Saga as taking place in the same year as the first mission to Krakoa, with Jean/Scott/Warren remaining 24 throughout.
Third question: To get to their ages at M-Day, I need to do something cataclysmically stupid. Something that I always tell everyone to never do when talking about the X-Men: I have to talk about how old Kitty Pryde was. She who has had three separate, non consecutive, fifteenth birthdays; and she who, famously, began the 1990s three years older than Jubilee, but still managed to end the decade two years younger than her. But, for once, bringing her into things is going to make everything else make more sense.
In X-Treme X-Men we're told directly that Kitty joined the X-Men five years ago. This is useful to know, because she joined the team on the exact same day that Jean died, so it has also been 5 years since that happened. X-Treme X-Men takes place at the same time as New Mutants volume 2, later to be relaunched as New X-Men: Academy X, which documents the first academic year of the Xavier School post its outing as a mutant boarding school. The two books ran parallel to one another and reference the same events in the lives of the original New Mutants.
Academy X concludes during the House of M crossover itself, and with the depiction of the typical US/Canadian school dances, and the inclusion of a year book issue, I think it's reasonable to conclude that the entire Academy X era takes place over about one full school year. So adding that together, M-Day should fall around 6 years after Jean's first death, making her, Scott, and Warren around 29-30, Hank 30-31, and Bobby 27-28.
If you want corroboration while also having the chance to experience a desperate urge to kick something, here's a cropped out section of the House of X/Powers of X timeline.
Tumblr media
My version has a type mistake, where years 49 and 50 were incorrectly reversed. Genosha should be year 50, and Moira's "death" at 49. (IIRC later print editions fixed this) M-Day and Decimation would happen in year 51. The Year 47 event references the storyline beginning in Jim Lee's X-Men #1, and so the formation of the Claremont X-Men would likely be in Year 45 or 46. Scott and co being 30ish at Year 52, and working backwards...It actually all kind of lines up?
Which I hate! I hate that it works. It forces you to accept that everything after M-Day occurs over the course of just one single year. And it's so annoying that it's actually kind of possible, when you remember how much everyone loved decompressed storytelling in those days, and subsequently how almost nothing actually happened for a decade and a half of comics. But still! That's so ridiculous! Why do they do this!
Hope that helps! Thanks for the ask.

X-Men - Earth 18104
Time-line of the X-Men for my original universe Earth-18104. The events are based in different medias, like the movies, comics and series. Also, I included some of my OCs, as I literally just made this universe for them (and to change stuff I don't like I the stories).
There's a longer list of events of my universe too, including stuff about the Avengers, but I focus more in the X-Men.
This lists goes from 1971 (barely) to 2000, the first part of the Age of Heroes.
List of Events
1971 -
Irene Adler has a vision about the future of mutants. She and Raven Darkhölme start to "prepare for the war", looking for more mutants. They convince Jason Wyngarde to join them.
Erik Lensherr continues to hunt down Sebastian Shaw.
1972 -
The "First Class" of X-Men is founded by Charles Xavier and Moira MacTaggert after they discovered that Sebastian Shaw and his Hellfire Club planned to start a nuclear war against the humans.
They join Darkhölme, Adler and Wyngarde, and then meet Lensherr. They receive help of Fred Duncan and Gabrielle Haller to form the team to fight Shaw.
The first members are Armando Muñoz (Darwin), Vienna Adamsen (Petra), Suzanne Chan (Sway) and Sean Cassidy (Banshee).
The Hellfire Club members are: Amélia Voght, Janos Quested and Adriana Soria.
Most of things are just like the movie, but with different characters.
Except Darwin never dies and Shaw is killed by Erik and later his body is taken by Lady Sinister. Adriana Soria is taken by CIA and Janos Quested escapes.
After the Battle of Cuba, Xavier becomes paralyzed and lives with Gabrielle Haller in Graymalkin Lane; Erik leaves the X-Men with Voght and Wyngarde; Irene and Adler leave too, but in separate ways; Moira goes to Muir Island with the recruits.
1975 -
Sean Cassidy marries his girlfriend.
Weapon Plus erases the memories of the Team X.
1976 -
Charles Xavier marries Gabrielle Haller.
Team X escapes the Weapon X facility. Logan loses his memories and lives in the mountains with James and Heather Hudson.
1979 -
David Haller, son of Xavier and Haller, is born.
Just months after his son's birth, Charles fights the Shadow King, who loses his body and puts his own conscious on David's mind, planning on taking revenge on Xavier in the future.
Afraid of what could happened if she stayed with Xavier, Gabrielle Haller leaves Graymalking Lane and takes her son with her.
1980 -
Pietro and Wanda Maximoff (12) activate their mutations for the first time.
1985 -
Jean Grey (10) manifests her powers for the first time. Xavier takes her to Graymalkin Lane to teach her to control her mutation.

Now calling himself Professor X, Charles Xavier (55) was ready to reveal the new X-Men to the world.
• Meanwhile, Magneto (59) has made his first move against humanity, taking control of a military base in Cape Citadel to launch his missiles at human targets. He was unexpectedly confronted by the X-Men and escaped before being defeated.
Due to his exemplary work on the field, Xavier selected Scott Summers to serve as the team's field leader.
Later they fought the mutant called Vanisher.
Xavier located Frederick Dukes (17), and sent the X-Men to recruit him.
Blob was uninterested in joining them and later attacked the school, but was defeated by X-Men soon.
Gabriel Summers (10) was raised in a foster family, until he decided to run away from his grandparents' house one night, going in search of Scott and Alex.
After getting lost, he was found by a criminal called Jack Diamonds, who took advantaged of his new powers. Gabriel later was saved by the first X-Men (Petra, Darwin, Sway) and taken to Muir Island, where he trained to be a X-Men and choose the name Kid Vulcan.

1995 -
(Mesmero and Krakoa)
Bobby (17) and Alex meet Lorna Dane (20). Soon they're kidnapped by Mesmero, who reveled that Lorna was Magneto's daughter.
Mesmero took control of Krakoa, the living mutant island, who once was home for the first mutants of the world. Mesmero and the X-Men discovered a secret nation of mutants that once lived in Krakoa (once known as Okkara).
These mutants were known as Enriched and they punished Mesmero for trying to steal their secrets and hurt Krakoa, who was asked to keep Mesmero trapped in a cell in the insides of the island.
The Enriched asked the X-Men to never tell about their secret nation, Khado, or about them, and the young mutants agreed.
Lorna Dane joined the X-Men as Polaris.
Hank McCoy left the X-Men to work at Brand Corporation.
(Among us stalk the Sentinels)
Believing that the mutant race was a threat to human society, scientist Bolivar Trask created the Sentinels.
To ensure the safety of mutants, Xavier began looking for new members for the X-Men.
The first of these would be his old Banshee friend, Sean Cassidy (43).
He also went after Sabretooth, who turned down his offer because he didn't care about the war between mutants and humans.
Jean (20), Scott (19) and Hank (21) met the mutant Ororo Munroe (28), that agreed to join them and took the code name "Storm".
• Over the next few days, there were many instances of mutants being attacked by Sentinels. Many of them sought refuge in the Xavier Mansion, being protected and kept secret by the X-Men.
At some point, the Sentinels attacked the school, and were defeated by the new group of X-Men.
(The Phoenix)
Reed Richards (32) met with Charles Xavier (58) to discuss the Z'Nox threat, stating that they were still present in Earth's orbit; so the X-Men joined the Fantastic Four on a mission into space to stop the alien invaders.
During the mission, they were caught in a solar flare. Jean Gray (20) was trapped in deep space and absorbed the explosion to give the others time to escape.
Jean came into contact with the Phoenix Force, that allowed her to absorb her energy, sealing itself in her body.
In Chandilar, in the Triagulum Galaxy (M-33), Lilandra feels the presence of the Phoenix.
With the rest of his team reaching the final stretch of their college education, Charles was secretly on Muir Island.
There he met Moira's new recruits, Bolt (14), Multiple Man (16) and Kid Vulcan (13).
Charles tried to recruit Emma Frost, but she refused, already working with the Hellfire Club in secret.
1996 -
Hank McCoy (22) goes through a rough transformation with his mutation, assuming a more bestial appearance.
(Second Genesis).
Charles Xavier (59) soon became aware of a mutant signature on Krakoa and sent his X-Men on a mission to investigate the island.
Meanwhile, the X-Men arrived on Krakoa and realized that the entire island was actually a massive mutant form.
Not only that, they met with Princess Sarala (33), the princess of Khado and the Enriched and Raven, her counselor.
They explained to Cyclops (20) that after they took Mesmero to Krakoa, he was placed in a stone chamber that would keep him asleep; however, the mutant used his powers to reach Krakoa's consciousness and awaken him from his sleep.
Understanding the importance of Krakoa to the Enriched, the X-Men joined them in calming the island. Krakoa then attacked them and, under Mesmero's command, captured them within.
Xavier reached out to Moira and asked her to allow him to use her students to rescue his team of X-Men.
These new X-Men proved to be no match for the island of Krakoa, and only managed to free Cyclops, sending him away while the group seemingly sacrificed their lives to cover their escape.
Scott returned to the Mansion, along with Bolt (15) and Madrox (17).
Wolverine was sent by Department H to fight the Hulk, he was defeated, but later was invited by Xavier to join the X-Men and rescue the other members from Krakoa.
Not only Wolverine, Scott recruited a new team with Banshee (44) and Storm (29), and new members: Sunfire (24), Colossus (18), Nightcrawler (20) and Thunderbird (17).
• This new team of X-Men proved more successful, rescuing the original team and defeating Krakoa and Mesmero.
Krakoa went back to its deep sleep and the Enriched took Mesmero to a different cell. However, Kid Vulcan was nowhere to be seen and Charles erased him from everyone's memories, believing he was dead.
Later, Cyclops became leader of the new team of X-Men.
(X-Men VS Erik the Red and D'ken)
Erik the Red received orders from Majestor Shi'ar D'ken to capture Princess Lilandra, who had fled on a ship to Earth.
The Enriched once again went to warn the X-Men of the threat of the Shi'ar and told them about the first invasion of the Shi'ar earth.
Princess Lilandra arrived on Earth and asked them to help her stop her brother from using the M'kraan Crystal's power to dominate the universe.
Jean Gray (21) awakened the powers of the Phoenix and helped the X-Men into space to rescue Lilandra, and help her stop her brother from using the power of the M'kraan Crystal to take over the universe.
Emperor D'ken controlled the powerful Imperial Guard and directed his force to destroy the X-Men. Fortunately, the X-Men were aided by the Starjammers, a revolutionary crew of space pirates, led by Cyclops' father, the Corsair, and the Enriched.
With the crystal about to shatter and destroy reality itself, Phoenix used his stupendous power to restore it. D'ken went crazy and was dethroned. When the X-Men returned to Earth, a temporarily exiled Lilandra accompanied them.
Jean Gray began having terrible dreams about the Phoenix.
(The second Brotherhood of Mutants)
With the new wave of hatred spread by Senator Kelly, a new Brotherhood of Mutants was formed, led by Mystique (and Destiny, in secret), formed by Pyro (19), Rogue (16) Avalanche (21) and Blob (21 ).
• While "rescuing" some mutant children, the Brotherhood is interrupted by the X-Men, who prevent them from taking the children to use them in their plans.
During the battle, the X-Men have difficulty dealing with Rogue's powers, who copies her abilities.
In the end, they win because Rogue is overwhelmed, and the Brotherhood escapes.
New mutants go to Gaymalkin Lane, among them is Sam Guthrie (14), Kitty Pryde (12) and Alison Blaire (16).
(Dark Phoenix)
The X-Men were captured by the Hellfire Club, its revealed that Jason Wyngarde has been using his power to torture Jean and unleash the Phoenix. They succed and Jean is dominated by the Dark Phoenix.
The powerful entity is defeated with the help of the Shi’ar. Jean Gray regained control once again and decided to sacrifice herself and prevent another disaster.
After Jean Grey's funeral, Cyclops left the team to mourn the loss of his lover. Storm was placed as leader of the X-Men
1997 –

• Scott comes back to the X-Men and confronts Xavier about his brother. He keeps in contact with Madelyne Prior.
• Illyana Rasputin is taken to Limbo. Later she’s saved by the X-Men, but she’s no longer a little girl.
• (The New Mutants)
• During the prolonged period in which the X-Men were kidnapped by the Brood, Xavier's School was rebuilt and became known as the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning. Despite not wanting to put any more of her students in danger, Moira convinced Xavier that the mutant children would be in danger one way or another and would need to be trained to fight.
• Thus, the X-Men began to assemble a new experimental team of young X-Men, the New Mutants, and new teachers joined to help with their training: Storm, Nightcrawler, Thunderbird, Sunfire, Firestarter, Lullaby, Banshee, Wolverine, Prestige, Bishop and Colossus.
• This new team was formed by Sam Guthrie (15), Rahne Sinclair (13), Roberto da Costa (14), Danielle Moonstar (15), Doug Ramsey (13), Illyana Rasputin (13) and Xuân Cao Mạnh (14), who has been chosen to bethe leader.

• Scott Summers became closer to Madelyne Prior and the two became a couple and he ook her to the X Mansion, where he introduced her to her friends. X-Men were shocked, however, seeing Scott's genuine happiness, they accepted Madelyne into their family and she spent the next few months living with them at the Institute, where she soon discovered she was pregnant.
• As a full-time X-Man, Wolverine was unable to personally care for Amiko (12), but raised her with his fiancée Mariko Yashida.
• Amiko lived with Mariko for some time, enjoying the luxurious life that the head of the Yashida Clan was able to provide. She saw Logan on rare occasions.
• Scott Summers married Madelyne Pryor on the grounds of Xavier Mansion, with most of the X-Men attending the ceremony.
• (Legion)
• David Haller (18) began manifesting his psionic abilities uncontrollably in the real world. Seeing her son suffering from the loss of control of his powers, Gabrielle Haller took him to Muir Island to ask Moira MacTaggert for help.
• MacTaggart called Xavier and he brought with him several of the New Mutants, including Cypher, Mirage and Wolfsbane, Rachel Grey, Scott Summers and Banshee. Upon seeing Xavier, David revealed that it wasn't just him there, there were many others of his alters and hidden in his mind was Amal Farouk, the Shadow King.
• The X-Men joined to stop Frouk and save Davidd. Farouk was removed and expelled from David's mind, who finally had control over his powers and could live in peace with his alters. Even though he still didn't accept that Xavier was his father, knowing why his mother left him, David thanked him.
• David remained on Muir Island for the next few years, being visited by the X-Men from time to time.
1998 –
• (The return of Jean Grey)
• Many months after Phoenix's death, some Khado soldiers heard Krakoa calling them and followed the island to Jamaica Bay, where they found a pod containing Jean Gray's body.
• A few weeks after being found, Jean Gray began to remember what happened before her "death." She later left to go find her friends and returned to be na X-Man.
• Meanwhile, Scott and Madelyne's marriage has become strained. Madelyne resented the fact that Scott was rarely home and that he continued to miss Jean.
• The X-Men were attacked by Mojo. Elizabeth Braddock joined the X-Men after helping them escape the Mojoverse.
• In May, Madelyne Prior gave birth to hers and Cyclops’ son, Nathan Summers.
• Right after, Lady Sinister, Selene Essex, recruited a group of mercenaries to get rid of the Morlocks, whom she believed were a threat the to Evolution of mutant kind. Among these mercenaries, the Marauders, were Sabretooth and Gambit.
• The X-Men went to the tunnels of Morlocks to save the mutants and defeat the Marauders. In the end of the fight, Storm was severely hurt and was lost. While the X-Men believed she was dead, Gambit found her in the tunnels and saved her life.
• Later the X-Men were attacked by the Ravers. During the fight, Jubilee (14), that was living in secret in the X-Men’s base, helped Wolverine save his teammates.
• (Inferno)
• When the X-Men carried out missions, Madelyne Pryor helped them as technical support. Little by little, she was corrupted by the Limbo demon N'astirh, ending up making a deal with him to find her son, becoming the Goblin Queen.
• She soon found out about her true nature: she’s a clone of Jean Grey created by Lady Sinister. Her corruption as the Goblin Queen unleashed Hell on New York in the form of a demonic invasion.
• The X-Men defeated N'astirh, however, in an insane outburst, Pryor put her own son's life at risk, being fought by the X-Men and X-Factor. She was eventually killed in an attempt to take Jean Gray down with her.
• With Madelyne dead, the X-Men traveled to the ruins of the X-Mansion to confront Lady Sinister, who, with Mastermind's help, was telepathically attacking Jean Grey. After a long fight, Cyclops (24) managed to blast Sinister with a full-power optical blast, seemingly destroying her.
• Now without his mother, baby Nathan Summers was raised by his fatherwith the help of the X-Men and Jean Grey.
• In the end, the X-men had to fight the Shadow King once again. Farouk was controlling other mutants to attack the X-Men, but with the help of David Haller and Emma Frost, they defeated him once again.
1999 –
• Wolverine tried to regain his memories and startedto dig into his past with the helpof Jonh Wraith and Nick Fury. He discovered that Silverfox was never dead and it was all an ilusion of Weapon X.
• The X-Men had to fight against the Acolytes and Fabian Cortez, who had kidnapped Luna Maximoff, Magneto’s granddaughter.
• Dealing with his bloodlust and animal side out of control, Sabretooth went to the X-Men searching for Xavier’s help. Different from what he expected, Creed was kept prisioner in the basement.

Main Alias/Moniker: Iceman

Height/Weight: 5'4'' (1.62m) / 115 lbs (51.8kg)

Timeline (1986 - 2002): Bobby was overprotected by his parents growing up. He was named after an uncle who died in Vietnam, and spent the first few weeks of his life in intensive care after being born premature. His parents reportedly harsh and disapproving of the slightest of behaviors—which, according to Bobby, included skateboarding and pop-punk music, so the Drake's standards for bad behavior were decidedly low. Their discipline only grew harsher as the family expanded, and his parents overexerted themselves with Bobby's other two siblings. This home life led to Bobby growing up with poor self-esteem, paired with a fixation on excitement and leaving his life in suburbia behind.
Timeline (2002): Bobby's powers first manifested at a classmate's birthday party. He and several others were in the home's heated pool, and all but Bobby eventually crawled out citing the water growing prohibitively cold. The adults involved chalked up the incident to a fault in the pool's heater, but the incident made Bobby realize he always had a high tolerance to cold weather. In addition, by that point the Fantastic Four had formed within the last few weeks, and Bobby was among the many New Yorkers swept up in the mania over the return of superheroes. Even with the word "mutant" not yet in his mind, it was enough to convince Bobby that there was more to him than just environmental tolerance, and he was right.
Over the next few weeks, he began to experiment in private, learning to not just affect temperatures around him, but freeze bodies of water and even the humidity. Bobby was priming himself to become the next big superhero, but even as he perfected his ice-slides, courtesy of his skateboarding skills, he was still too far out to get in and out of the city without drawing his parent's suspicion. Thus, most of Bobby's earliest tenure as a superhero was largely patrolling his Long Island neighborhood.
On one such patrol, Bobby oversaw a submarine rising out from the coast. Investigating, he ran into Johnny Storm, who was also staking out the sub. Bobby had his first team-up, helping the Human Torch save an unconscious Sub-Mariner from a gang of pirates, and Bobby went back to the Baxter Building, where he first gained a more proper understanding of his powers. The Fantastic Four did not give Bobby the recruitment offer he was hoping for, but he returned home early that morning feeling his big break was finally coming. Those hopes were cut short by the time he made it home, where his parents were awake and waiting for him.
The only member of Bobby's family who knew about his powers was his little sister, Aurora. The two siblings had conjoined rooms and Aurora ventured into Bobby's one night after being awoken by a chill to find her brother's room filled with snow. Aurora was amazed and delighted by Bobby's powers and was his first fan and confidante, but she ultimately buckled when the eldest Drake, Ronny, grew suspicious of Bobby and confronted Aurora. Ronny in turn told their parents, who grounded Bobby but were apparently evasive to acknowledge his abilities. When Bobby relayed him being a mutant from Richards, his only response was his mother sheepishly asking Bobby to try "not being a mutant."
Timeline (2002 - 2003): The whole experience left Bobby in a fowl, despondent mood. So much so that when Rocky Beasely, a frequent bully of Bobby's, began taunting him one day, Bobby lashed out, freezing Beasely solid. The incident was quickly swallowed by anti-mutant hysteria, with Bobby detained by the authorities and his assault trial becoming a local news event. That was when we first got involved. The Professor arranged for Agent Duncan to act as Bobby's legal defense. In addition, both Wren and the Fantastic Four navigated the public discourse around Bobby's case. It was Richards who first theorized that Bobby would be a able to unfreeze Beasely with no health complications. The theory ended up becoming true, and with it the assault charges were overturned.
The Beaselys dropped charges, but the stigma surrounding Bobby remained. The Professor once more intervened, offering for Bobby to finish his education under his tutelage. To the surprise of most of us, they agreed, though we had our suspicions it had more to do with distancing themselves from the acrimony Bobby's arrest had caused than it was his well-being. Out of all of us, Bobby started out with the most stress and negative feelings towards his mutant identity, but the fresh environment of the Mansion also gave him the opportunity to test his limits without burden.
Looking back, in his earliest days Bobby hadn't yet so much embraced being a mutant than he thought he could get his dreams of superheroism back on track among the rest of us. This is probably why, despite having the least personal investment to intervene in Santo Marco, he was the most enthused among us to form what would become the X-Men, and to save the world as a bona fide superhero. That enthusiasm did a lot to convince the Professor for Bobby to come along, what with him being the youngest and still a minor at the time. And it's a good thing he did, as Bobby ended up being our secret weapon in Santo Marco.

Life with the Winter Guard is as it always is. The team serves its function and gets everything done that it needs to. Back from the dead, Laynia enjoys working with them once more and is glad to see that her twin, Vanguard, is doing well ever since her resurrection. Some may wonder about the moral obligations of the Russian based team -- especially with their connection to the mysterious Red Widow -- but Laynia knows in her heart that she’s in the right place. It’s what makes her happy and it’s what she’s always done.
←  A GROUP OF REMARKABLE PEOPLE TO SEE IF THEY →
✗ NIKOLAI KRYLENKO (616) is Laynia’s twin brother and fellow member of the Winter Guard. He’s fiercely protective of his sister; when she died, he was so determined to either avenge or restore her that it led to a schism in the Guard. Now, Laynia is back and the two have settled into a routine once more. She knows Nikolai would do anything for her and Laynia returns the sentiments. They remain incredibly close.
✗ NATHASHA ROMANOFF (616) was once the target of the USSR that Laynia was supposed to bring in. Instead of doing so she joined Natasha’s team, the Champions of Los Angeles, and became her friend. The two keep in touch some but aren’t incredibly close. Natasha’s disowning of Russia and Laynia’s continual service to the country will always be a huge difference between the two.
✗ BOBBY DRAKE (616) and Laynia grew close when Laynia was a Champion and the two almost dated -- which, in retrospect, wouldn’t have worked out since Bobby is gay. Laynia didn’t know that at the time and the two ultimately decided to just be friends.
← COULD BECOME SOMETHING MORE  →
✗ THE WINTER GUARD → They’re Russia’s answer to the Avengers. The team has a rotating roster, and Laynia has served on it in a few different iterations. They’re not the Avengers, though. They don’t have the family kind of vibe even though there’s literal family on the team. Laynia doesn’t really mind. She’s serving her country and making them proud.

jean is the only mutant in her family, but her parents always accepted her. they immediately reached out to charles xavier when they realized she was a mutant and were willing to do whatever it took to ensure their daughter was going to be okay
jean was the only girl on the x-men for a while and she actually enjoyed it. she was the first recruit but the last to join the team.
jean had a brief thing with warren when she thought scott wasn’t into her but realized she and warren worked better as friends. hank was also into her.
for some reason, all males are into her. it’s one of earth’s unexplained phenomenas.
the first time she experienced her powers was when she was ten and jean felt her friend annie die. that was the first time she felt death and it was the one that scared her the most, leaving her less afraid of dying
jean would ask someone to kill her if she thought the phoenix was going to take over. when the phoenix did take over she was killed, only to be resurrected.
when charles first entered her mind he set up walls to hold the phoenix back but when they broke jean didn’t know how to handle it, leaving her to resent him slightly as he left her so ill-prepared
jean was supposed to get her telekinesis long before her telepathy but being pulled from time ruined that and she was given both at once, leading to her being overwhelmed and the mental barriers slipping enough for the phoenix to be introduced early
she hasn’t gotten used to telepathic rules of politeness yet
she’s a firm believer that the third movies in a trilogy are trash
jean is, of course, a class five omega mutant and there is no current way to determine why or how the phoenix chose her
she never grew out of her nightmares which shake buildings and levitate objects around her
leading x-men: blue just felt natural and it’s allowed her to help mutants even outside the school
she doesn’t hate emma. maybe older jean did but this jean has nothing against her expect the fact that she makes jean feel inferior / young
she was drawn once to older scott is hot but he turned her down – as he should have
big jean haunted her for a while
she hasn’t quite picked up the whole forgiveness thing yet
jean and scott were dating before coming to the future. when they saw the future they got scared and ended up pushing each other away. he joined the champions and jean ended up doing her own thing.
wears her hair in a short bob
erik is a father like figure to jean. she’s been in his head and knows him well.
jean knows scott is her true-love deep down but she’s afraid she feels like she has to love him because of their history
► WANTED CONNECTIONS

Oh... sorry! Was that cold? Just be glad it wasn't Wolverine giving you the wake-up call!
CHARACTER NAME/ALIAS: Bobby Drake aka, Iceman FACECLAIM: Ronen Rubinstein AFFILIATIONS: Nomads/X-Men AGE (physical age as well, if different): 35 SPECIES (human, metahuman, alien, etc): Mutant IS YOUR CHARACTER’S IDENTITY SECRET OR PUBLIC? Public DOES YOUR CHARACTER LIVE IN THE MOUSEHOLE? IF SO, WHAT ARE THEIR DUTIES? Combat trainer and mission team leader for those in colder climates. DESCRIBE SIX TRAITS (3 positive, 3 negative) YOUR CHARACTER HAS AND HOW THESE AFFECT THEM:
Transparent. You would think someone who has powers like him would come across cold right? No, Bobby is very honest and open, he leads with his emotions which can some times also be his downfall but Bobby can’t help it, he has a big heart.
Brave. Bobby is very brave and is often seen standing up for the little person. Because he’s so willing to go wandering into dangerous situations without thought, it can put him in danger some times, but that’s okay, he always finds some way to get out of said danger even though the x-men team has had to pull him out of them plenty of times over the years. He doesn’t back down.P
Protective. He adores his family, Jean and Scott are like brother and sister to him, Hank is one of his best friends and he may have a small crush on Warren but doesn’t talk about that. Since he joined the X-Men next to Scott, it’s been a big learning curve due to how he was treated by his peers when his mutation manifested. He’d do anything for his friends even if it means he puts himself in direct line of the danger instead.
POWERS AND/OR ABILITIES:
Thermokinesis
Thermal Vision
Cryokinesis
Hydrokinesis
Molecular Moisture Inversion
Molecular Moisture Conversion
Bobby has yet to unlock his secondary mutation which will consist of:
Organic-Ice Form
Ice Clone Generation
Cryokinetic Perception
Cellular Replacement
He’s also an accountant and speaks fluent Russian and Spanish.
WEAKNESSES:
Becomes mentally exhausted with overuse of his ice powers. Has a fear of tapping into his full potential.
IC PORTION; DETAILS —
WHAT BROUGHT YOUR CHARACTER TO SOKOVIA?
Bobby joined the X-Men in Genosha but as they began to establish the miro-nation, it became clear that there was no need for his skills set even as an accountant, so he said his goodbyes early on and left without a fuss from Xavier (which frankly, hurt, not that he’d ever admit that out loud). So, he turned his attention to the nomads and has been with them ever since. He’s the one that heads up missions in colder areas as he can withstand them and he keeps everyone in tip top shape by being a trainer around the mousehole. With the addition of the Danger Room that’s coming, he can set up some situations through that eventually.
DID THEY SIGN THE ACCORDS? WHY OR WHY NOT?
No, he didn’t sign the Accords, he was already half way to Genosha at the time. Plus, he’s a mutant and is tired of constantly being opposed for who he is. He believes if any mutant signed it, then they must be out of their minds.
PROVIDE 3-5 HEADCANONS RELATED TO YOUR CHARACTER:
Bobby has had a string of girlfriends over the years because he was deep in denial about being gay, why add this on top of being a mutant too. His world already hated him for one thing, why add another. But slowly over the years, Bobby has come to accept his sexuality and has been out for a few years even though he’s still a bit afraid.
He’s a bit of a prankster and will often lower temperatures in rooms because he finds people’s reactions funny. He should be grown up by now, but it keeps him amused.
WANTED CHARACTER CONNECTIONS:
The O5: Jean Gray, Scott Summers, Warren Worthington III and Hank McCoy, these four are his best friends. They grew up together, fought together through thick and thin, Bobby will do anything for them.
Lorna Dane: Despite having dated her in the past, they are now good friends.
Johnny Storm: Literally the best person for Bobby to team up with. They are good friends with similar goals and sense of humour. It wasn’t always like this though and they often butted heads.
POTENTIAL CHARACTER ARCS:
The only thing I have in mind at the moment is him unlocking his secondary mutation which is where he can shift his entire body into ice. He’s going to be stuck like this for a while until he learns how to control it. Get your mops ready, Mousehole.
Bobby has always been a follower, even as an X-Man but him leading up teams here is a big change for him which he’s fully taken on board. I’d like to see him make some hard decisions regarding this.
CHARACTER BIO —
Born to William and Madeline Drake in Floral Park, Bobby’s mutation manifested early on when he couldn’t stop shivering and feeling cold all the time despite his parents taking him to doctors, none of them could figure out why he was feeling cold all the time. It was only when Bobby was forced to protect himself (and his then-girlfriend) when his powers were revealed by encasing the school bully in ice. That was a rough time because the town then organised a mob to go after him, believing that he was dangerous. It wasn’t for Scott Summers, then Bobby would’ve been dead there and then. That’s when he left his home behind and started on this weird adventure as one of the original X-Men.
Over the years, Bobby learned how to control his powers and was even given the name of Iceman eventually. What Bobby wasn’t aware of at the time, but is now, that they were all child soldiers and that is something that doesn’t sit right with him any more so his relationship with Xavier is strained. He took him in and gave him a home when he had to leave his own, he’ll always be grateful for that, but doesn’t mean that he likes it.
Bobby was never going to agree to sign anything like the Accords, so quickly turned down the chance to and turned his attention on following the others to Genosha to help establish the mirco nation alongside his peers. He managed to stick around for a grand total of six weeks before he started to feel redundant. Every single one of his friends had an important position within this nation so Bobby left and hasn’t looked back on Genosha since, even letting Charles go to voice mail every time he calls.
He has been in Sokovia ever since, helping them get on their feet and established combat training for those heroes who are feeling a little rusty. Recently, he’s been off on missions up in Siberia as he’s the one that’s chosen to head up teams in colder climates. Now he’s back in the Mousehole for the time being and he’s wondering what the hell he’s missed.

Robert Drake - 32 - Mutant Alpha/Omega - Accountant
Current :
No one knows he's gay beside Rogue
Suffers from severe PTSD he is seeking help for
lives with rogue and is her accountant
low contact with his parents
Once upon a time
Born to a Jewish mother an irish-catholic father, Bobby first discovered his abilities at a young age when he found himself unable to stop feeling cold and shivering. Only years later would he reveal his true nature, when saving his date from a school bully who was out to attack them. Sadly this only brought fear and for his own protection, the local sheriff brought Bobby into custody. The story made it to Charles Xavier who sent Scott to recruit Bobby. After turning him down, Bobby and Scott were however cornered by a mob and would have been hanged if it weren’t for the Professor using his abilities. Grateful for the saving, Bobby enrolled. He secretly yearned to be like Scott.
He eventually became an X-men, one of the younger members. Despite his self-conscious self, his lighthearted approach to disaster often eased tensions among his teammates and open the most recluse young mutants at the school. Using his skills and knowledge to teach younger mutants, he spent most of his time on school grounds, jumping into action whenever needed, until New York and the Inhuman war.
It was mostly the inaction decided on the mutants part that made him leave the team. On his way to the airport, he had an encounter with Johnny who thought he was the one who attacked him thinking he was someone else. Even if he missed his flight after that, he did make it to Los Angeles, where he attended the UCLA until recently. He came back to the academy even if he is still debating on resuming his role as X-men.
Bobby was forever changed after his time in Zemo’s captivity. He had been freed, thanks to Kitty’s ingenuity but he felt a sense of survivor’s guilt after he was free and she wasn’t. He helped to track them down and bring her home. Like Kurt, he tried to help her after her ordeal, but still has his own demons to deal with. Like the rest of the X-Men, he signed and seems to be doing much better, even if he’s hiding his own trauma from everyone else.

Mightiest Mutant Maiden
Tumblr media
Earlier, I mentioned that the role Jennifer Lawrence's Raven/Mystique fell into initially belonged to Anna Paquin's Marie/Rogue. The part of the young, impressionable girl trying to find her place while navigating life as a mutant. While it's never specifically referenced in the films, these two are mother and daughter via adoption. Also, unlike a number of their fellow X-women, they're both played by competent actresses who make their performances engaging. However, my purpose here is to outline why Marie was the better version.
There are many mixed opinions about Anna Paquin's portrayal of Rogue. Admittedly, I grew up on the 90s animated series so meeting such a young Marie was jarring at first. Considering how teen Rogue was later written for X-Men Evolution... Yeah, I'll take Anna's style any day. Marie is instantly sympathetic when she accidentally harms her boyfriend by kissing him. Her mutation absorbs people's strength, powers, and memories with mere skin contact. Because of this, Marie is forced to cover herself up constantly and runs away from home when she's made to feel like a leper.
Even more shocking than a teenage Rogue was the introduction of itty bitty girl Mystique. For further mind-blowing, according to X-Men First Class, Charles Xavier adopted Raven as his sister and took her with him everywhere, including when the CIA recruited him to form a mutant team. Making Charles and Raven siblings could not have been more ludicrous but the actors' chemistry really made their weird dynamic loveable. Similar to her future daughter, Raven feels like she's constantly in hiding for fear that her natural blue skin will be revealed. However, throughout the FC series, we see that Raven has far greater control over her shape-shifting than she lets on. Unlike Marie, Raven wears extremely short dresses and skirts and she's apparently been on many dates with boys without revealing her secret. Raven has amazing reflexes and durability in addition to being able to change her form. Marie is solely reliant on her dangerous absorption power. Outside of her insecurities about her appearance, Raven seemed to lead the carefree, spirited life of any wealthy Westchester girl.
Marie is homeless, cold, and alone until she meets fellow mutant, Logan. The child must be desperate if going off with a strange, uncouth, bearded prize fighter is preferable to her hometown. Even more fortunately, Marie and Logan are taken in by the X-Men. While it is an adjustment, Marie clearly thrives at the Xavier Institute for Gifted Youngsters. She even makes a best friend turned boyfriend in Bobby Drake. Raven forms a romantic connection like this with Hank McCoy.
While checking on a nightmare-trapped Logan one night, Marie is accidentally stabbed in the chest by Logan. She's forced to absorb his healing power to keep from dying. Ironically, her shape-shifting mother posing as Bobby makes Marie feel like she has to flee the mutant sanctuary before Prof X puts her out himself. This was all a ruse so that Magneto could abduct Marie to use her power, which would kill her. Despite all of his preaching about the greater good, Marie refuses to buy what Magneto is selling.
Raven is among her brother's first class of mutants and Charles even puts her on the team. However, Raven is too preoccupied with what she doesn't have to enjoy what's right in front of her. She's fixated on her appearance to an extreme degree. The younger Magneto, Erik, doesn't need elaborate schemes to lure in Raven. After some meticulous grooming, Raven turns against her own brother to join Erik's mutant terrorists.
Marie is devastated when she thinks she has to leave the X-Men. She sees other children with their parents and it's clear how badly Marie wants that. She yearns for the love and security Raven coldly rejected. Fortunately, Logan and the X-Men rally together to rescue her from Magneto. After Erik tried to kill her in dofp, a part of Raven stays obsessed with him. Marie can't stand the sight of the hypocritical madman and would gladly exercise her power on him at the first opportunity. So, the southern girl, who did not grow up rolling in riches and being warned of the dangers in the world, is a better judge of character than her supposed mutant freedom fighter mother.
Before he left to find some answers about his forgotten past, Logan left his dog tags with Marie as a promise that they would reunite. As soon as he returns to the mansion, Marie is ecstatic to have him back. Logan quickly eases right back into safeguarding the girl, not 100% pleased she has a boyfriend but he comes around to Bobby. They're so connected after such a short time knowing each other.
Raven grew up as Charles' sister and they did practically everything together. However, every time they meet, Raven is bitter and cruel towards Charles. She forgives whatever horrors Erik might inflict, but Charles' inability to relate to her appearance problems and his desire to keep her safe are inexcusable in Raven's eyes. She never makes an earnest attempt to help heal the relationship she herself so needlessly discarded, even after Charles welcomes her back to the X-Men in a leadership position.
Come x-men last stand, things take a surprisingly bleak turn for Marie. Bobby starts to take an interest in Kitty Pryde. While it might just be an innocent friendship, Marie is not being paranoid in her belief that Bobby will eventually want a girl with whom he can be physical. Many parts of fandom criticize her for taking the mutant cure 'just to please a boy'.
In FC, a few sweet words and a kiss are all Raven needs to throw her family and morals out the window. I'm pretty sure this extends to her children as well. Kurt is quite obviously the son she abandoned at birth. With Marie haunted by different voices in her head and Raven's shape-shifting, I believe Marie was Mystique's daughter at some point. It would explain what put her on Magneto's radar in the first place since he has no access to Cerebro. As Magneto's animalistic pet shrew, what's a sacrificed daughter between friends? Yet Raven's supposed to be the strong female character of the series? Yeah, Simon Kinberg, cut the crap. Literally, every member of Mystique's family, except for Graydon Creed, has been featured across this film franchise. She's been on a Magneto team with *both* of her baby daddies, Victor and Azazel's hideous self. Marie even had a special moment with her brother Kurt while their blue butt-naked mom was preoccupied with seducing Logan. What is her obsession with guys who maim her? Yeah, try selling Raven's heroic virtues to people who don't know the lore.
First, if Marie was done being burdened by her absorption powers, she had the right to seek the cure. It would harm absolutely no one. In fact, that's what she wants, intimacy without endangering anyone and being plagued by their memories. She was focused on Bobby not for her ego but because he was all she had left and she felt him slipping away. Prof X and Hank thought other mutants deserved to make their own choices about the cure. But the Professor was murdered by Jean and Hank went back into politics instead of staying with the X-Men. Oh so maternal Storm could not shame Marie hard enough for even mentioning the cure. For some reason, Logan's amnesia came back and he forgot his protective instincts towards his little southern hitchhiker. The Professor gets brutally murdered and the last male mutant elder they have is all "these ain't none of my kids. I ain't yo daddy". Sadly, as someone forced to wear shades and visors 24/7 for his own destructive powers, Scott would have been sympathetic to Marie's issues. What happened to him, anyway? Oh, right. After months of mourning for the overrated wet rag that cheated on him, he, too, is murdered by her.
Keep in mind that despite her struggles and her new family members being killed one by one, Rogue never so much as glances towards the dark side. It takes laughably little for Raven to switch alliances on a dime. Her daughter was just happy and grateful to be a part of Mutant School. Raven got fame, merchandise in her likeness, and all of her self-righteous demands met and from FC to the stupid phoenix movie, she is NEVER satisfied with anything!
One good thing is that, like Peter Maximoff and her brother Kurt, Rogue is further proof that we are NOT automatically doomed to be our parents. Some apples fall so far from the tree, they land and ultimately flourish in the gardens of Charles Xavier.

Usually I don’t like when they change the sexual orientation of a character, and this just because Marvel comics are full of diversity. Especially now that we are going to have the Young Avengers, one of the most inclusive team of the Marvel universe, for race and sexuality.
Starting with this, I wanna talk about the rumors involving the character of Sebastian Stan, Bucky. The showrunner (at least I think it was him, btw one of the crew members of the show) asnwered a fan quesion about the fact that Bucky could be bisexual. Now, this could work out. I am the first person who disliked the idea of Peter Parker being bi when it first came out from Sony, ‘cause for the character it wouldn’t work out. Much of Peter story and personality is based upon the women he dated. Starting with Gwen, to MJ and Felicia. And I am not saying this because I am an homophobe or something ‘cause dude, I am gay. I am saying this as a fan, since Spidey is on top of my list of faves heroes and characters in general. But for Bucky it could work, just like it worked for Bobby Drake (the one from the past brought in the present by Beast). They (Bucky and Bobby) both have been brought, even tho by different methods, in the present from the past. A past where being gay wasn’t easy, so they eventually buried that part of them. But as for Bobby, it worked. Because he has seen that in the present it’s easier to come out, even tho it’s still not safe for everyone.
With this I want to say that, if they do this with Bucky, and they do it good, it could work. The showrunner responded just with this sentence: “just keep watching the show and eventually you will get your answer”. So I am very curious about it
