Geld verdienen door middel van social media is de meesten inmiddels wel bekend. Toch is het via YouTube vaak een ander verhaal, maar ook via dit kanaal is het goed mogelijk je verkopen omhoog te krijgen. Je hebt dan natuurlijk wel een (groot) publiek nodig en het liefst abonnees die je video’s bekijken, delen en actief betrokken zijn. YouTube-abonnees hebben er zelf voor gekozen jouw video’s te zien in hun feed en dat maakt hen erg belangrijk. Hoe je meer abonnees kunt krijgen, lichten we hieronder verder toe. Consistentie Een succesvol YouTube-kanaal krijg je vooral door middel van consistentie oftewel ervoor zorgen dat de content van je kanaal steeds hetzelfde thema heeft en je kijkers laten weten wat dat thema is. Zo weten je kijkers precies wie je bent en wat je doet. Zorg er dus voor dat je eerst bepaalt wat het uitgangspunt is van jouw kanaal en communiceer kort maar krachtig. Hierdoor beveelt het YouTube-algoritme je content ook meer aan. Tactieken - Kanaaltrailer. Door een trailer of teaservideo te maken, geef je nieuwe abonnees of mensen die nog geen abonnee zijn snel een beeld van wat ze van je kunnen verwachten. - Pitch. Door in je video’s een zogenaamde elevatorpitch op te nemen, waarin je bijvoorbeeld je kijkers prikkelt met wat er de volgende keer gaat komen, geef je nieuwe kijkers een reden zich te abonneren en vaste kijkers een reden terug te komen. - Videothumbnails. Via thumbnails onder je video’s maak je meteen duidelijk waar je video over gaat en door ze zelf te ontwerpen, kun je alles een mooi geheel laten vormen. - Samenwerken. Door samen te werken met andere webshops die op YouTube zitten, kun je elkaar promoten en elkaars netwerk vergroten. - Inspelen op een hype. Het werkt dikwijls goed om video’s te maken rondom een bepaalde hype of trend, die dan wel relevant moet zijn voor jouw content uiteraard. - Video’s delen in online niche-community’s. Door jouw video’s te delen bij allerlei niche-community’s, zoals Facebook, twitter en Reddit, die met jouw doelgroep verband houden is de kans vrij groot dat mensen uit die community’s zich abonneren op je kanaal. - Bingewatchen. Door afspeellijsten te creëren binnen je YouTube-kanaal houd je je content overzichtelijk en stimuleer je kijkers om te blijven kijken. Daarnaast is het goed voor de SEO en je vertoningen in de zoekresultaten, afhankelijk van de naam van je afspeellijsten. Je kunt ook nog een link delen binnen je afspeellijst naar je video, zodat kijkers video na video van jouw kanaal te zien krijgen. - YouTube-kaarten. YouTube-kaarten zijn interactieve elementen waarop geklikt kan worden en binnen de video weergegeven worden als thumbnail-overlays. Je kunt ze gebruiken om specifieke video’s, afspeellijsten, links, kanalen of producten aan te bevelen. Kopen van YouTube-abonnees Het kopen van abonnees of andere snelle manieren om je kanaal te laten groeien, werken doorgaans niet voor de lange termijn. Je kunt namelijk beter een waardevol publiek hebben dat ook daadwerkelijk enthousiast is over je producten, dan veel (gekochte) abonnees met weinig interactie en content.
