A little background below ⬇⬇⬇

HA I TRICKED YOU, it's not little, it's a lot!

Alright, this was just supposed to be an attempt at character design of my own after I read bunch of Superhero AUs, but I got carried away and created some lore :')

-WILBUR-

Full Name: Both him and Techno had been adopted by Philza at young age and took up his last name, but wanted to keep something of their own. Hence, both have their nicknames "Soot" and "Blade" (not last names, they don't know what they were).

Alias: I wanted to base all names of the Syndicate on Greek mythology, however I had hard time finding something for Wilbur. I came close to calling him Apollo, but most of the things attributed to this god, aside being the patron of music, just didn't align with what I had in mind for him. Thus, ta da, "very original" Siren. Even tho, it's not really a name name - "lured sailors to their death with a bewitching song" just fits too well.

Powers: Hypnotic voice was an obvious choice, but I wanted all of them to have two main abilities. Thus, after long search I stumbled upon enhanced hearing, and hear me out. Wilbur wears mask over his eyes (he can see through it) but it gives the illusion that one of his senses is gone, and what they say when one sense is taken away? Another one amplifies >:D And I just think that someone whose powers are based on sound would be more sensitive to it. It's not like he has super hearing for miles away, he can just hear well what someone is whispering like few meters away form him :p

OK THAT'S IT. I think that's the most I've ever written on this site. To anyone who've read the whole thing: ily <333 thank for reading my rambling and sorry for any grammatical errors, English is not my first language and I was too lazy to do a spell check.

-TECHNO-

Full name: Explained before. I'm sorry, but I just can't separate those names from them, there is no Techno without Blade.

Alias: Now I spent a lot of time on this one, bc I just couldn't settle on anything. First I thought about Ares, for being the patron of blood lust and warfare, but just, it didn't work that much for me, I just think there should be more meaning behind the name. Then I searched more, I stumbled on Polemos and some other I can't remember and finally settled on Perses.

PERSES was the Titan god of destruction. He was the father of Hekate, goddess of witchcraft, by the Titanis Asteria ("Starry One"). Perses' name means "the Destroyer" or "the Ravager" from the Greek words persô and perthô. Hesiod inexplicably describes him as "preeminent among all men in wisdom"

And I just think this one's perfect. God of destruction? nice. "The Ravager"? Techno loved mc ravagers and I just can't pass this coincidence. "Preeminent among all men in wisdom"? Man's crazy smart, also as I'll explain more in a moment, Techno knows things he shouldn't really know, and he's almost always ahead of everyone, so, check. Also, my fav goddess aside form Persephone is Hecate so, additional point.

Powers: Enhanced durability is pretty explanatory. Mans could be thrown through a building and only his hair would get messy, maybe a bruise here and there and a lot of complaining, but that's it. You need someone equally powerful to bring him down. NOW, hyper awarness, man oh man, so I NEEDED to include the voices somehow. And I never saw them as something negative in his case. Of course, during combat, they start to demand bloodshed and make him sometimes loose control or result in sensory overload. BUT most of all, thanks to them he knows things - names of people or locations he never seen before, where the punch is coming at him from, answers to weird questions, who stole his food, and why is it always Wilbur, etc etc. So, yeah I thought that writing it down as hyper awarness, might work.

Additional info: His eyes are always red, but his sclera changes color to black when he's out on a mission or fighting, basically when the voices become louder the eyes become more intense in color. As civilian he wears red glasses most of the time to somehow mask the real color.

-PHILZA-

Full Name: You have no idea how much I wanted to write him down as Philza Mine Craft.

Alias: So, I also struggled to find a name for him. I was battling between Thanatos or simply calling him The Angel of Death. But then I was struck and everything became clear. I love fanfics where Phil was a hero before he saw how bad the system is and decides to become the "bad guy" who's actually kinda good, but does bad things sometimes. So, why not use it. In my version, before he became a villain, he was known as Angel, the Hero Committee wasn't as fully developed, so the heros still could stay anonymous, that's why even now they don't know his real identity. After he left he decided to take up new alias and therefore Thanatos was born. Person with black wings associated with Death, also now has a scythe??? Fits perfectly. And that's how people from calling him Angel started calling him The Angel of Death.

Powers: He has the ability to hide his wings and manifest them whenever he wants. I thought about making them just permanent, but I think it's just cooler when suddenly you see a character spring out a pair of big wings out of their back out of nowhere for the shock effect. (no i wasn't just too lazy to draw them, what are you talking about)

Avian telephaty - I also just couldn't not include the Chat. Wherever you see a cloud of crows you know the Angel of Death is nearby. He can communicate with any bird that is a raven, crow or rook. They're his eyes and ears.

please tell me everything abt your dnb au. I want see these dorks in dnd. what kind of warlock is dream? how does he meet techno? what crimes did dream even commit in this au? (lowkey feel like it's necromancy or necromancy adjacent)

i'm a little torn on the type of warlock because pact of the tome seems like the obvious choice but mechanic wise, the tome just doesn't equate at all to the revive book. still, it's probably the most one to one choice so that's probably what i'll pick.

i do have a soft spot for pact of the blade because of the comments c!sapnap made about dream's armor/weapons and i kinda like the idea of 'nightmare' being a pact boon, y'know? so i think about that.

i talked about the 'crimes' here a little bit but yeah, basically necromancy related even if he didn't intend it to be. he gets really caught up in this and if you're not 100% on board with entering a pact with your patron, things can feel scary.

but he meets techno by chance! techno runs into a group of bounty hunters who have caught dream and they agree to share a campsite because it's not the safest area. dream laughs at techno's stupid jokes and makes a few of his own (which techno thinks are funny) before being told to shut it by the bounty hunters. techno is not liking the way they're treating dream, if he's honest.

the group is attacked by... well, something and dream obviously takes this chance to escape. techno feels obligated to stay and attempt to help the bounty hunters. in the midst of the whole thing, dream ends up saving techno. not anything serious, really, but something he didn't need to do because it makes him pause his escape attempt.

and so techno is like 'hmmm' and ends up taking dream with him.

dream is under the assumption that techno will turn him in at first but at least he's nicer about it so he doesn't fight the issue.

Sorry if this is spoilery but what are your plans for the other troll tribes? Is Branch going to met them pre-world tour?

The idea I've kind of been having is that King Thresh decides to reach out to try and make alliances with the other tribes. Especially because he is taking care of a trolling from another tribe. I don't think he would reach out to pop (for obvious reasons) but I don't see why he couldn't reach out to Country, Funk, and Techno.

There's some spoilers I'll skip over but Branch will be meeting the other tribes and it will be before when World Tour would have taken place. Barb's World Tour won't happen for a few reasons!

One small issue is all the tribes did agree to a full separation, and even if we do know the context and that it was a right call... Thrash did still technically kidnap a Pop Troll. The absolutely last tribe they're supposed to mess with.

Perhaps with all the facts the other leaders would agree with the choice, but it would require trusting Thrash and Barb to be telling the truth.

I have all the meetings planned out already and I'm dying to get to them, but they're still a ways off.

In honor of my pjo/greek mythology hyperfixation trying to drag me back into its clutches by the neck - your thoughts on sbi as demigods? I like to imagine phil as a son of thanatos (bc death) or hermes (bc wings). Techno as a son of eris (often considered the goddess of strife and discord but also bloodshed) or athena (obvious choice with his strategies). Wilbur as son of athena (bc he was the strategist during much of the dsmp era iirc). Now this was hard to figure out but i'd imagine Tommy as a son of hestia (bc he was loyal to a fault at times, and very attached to the people [and things] he loved and considered his family, to the point of betraying others which, i know, is the opposite of loyalty but i feel like it still fits)

I should probably preface this by saying I know absolutely nothing about Percy Jackson and all that, so I'm going 100% based on my knowledge of Greek mythology and not any in-universe lore for that franchise.

I think Hermes is pretty spot on for Phil, also being the god of travel and such. Additionally known as both a trickster AND a protector which feels very fitting for Phil. Thanatos is definitely also a fun choice. I relate Phil a lot to themes of stars and night, so Nyx could also be an interesting option.

For Techno, while a bit of a cliché choice, I think Ares fits as the god of war, courage, and bloodshed (more so in my opinion than Eris because I wouldn't personally relate Techno to her specific connotations of strife or chaos). Alternatively, I'd like to suggest Demeter. Not only does personifying Techno with the goddess of harvest and agriculture slap hard, Demeter is linked to the upholding of sacred law and the cycle of life and death, which feels fitting for Techno's anarchistic tendencies. I'd vibe with Athena or even Artemis too honestly, those are good picks.

Wilbur is the one I'd relate more to Eris, I think. It feels very fitting. Apollo could also be fun, the god of music and poetry and prophecy. Apollo is heavily tied into a bow and arrow, which always feels like a Wilbur thing to me (bonus points if Techno is the child of Artemis then, since Artemis and Apollo are twins). Another good option for Wilbur is Dionysus, god of myth and theatre, but also instability and madness. That's Wilbur to a T.

Then Tommy, I think you're again pretty spot on with Hestia, that's a very Tommy-coded goddess. Nike, goddess of victory, also feels Tommy-coded to me. But as usual my Tommy thoughts are pretty limited, sorry about that.

Obviously your family was very well known

Wherever you went you were quickly recognised as the "dark freaks" "the outcasts"

The Addams

If it wasn't already obvious by your lack of color in your clothing and just all around weird nature you gave off

But other then that you were known in the SMP as "The Seer"

See, like your mother and your sister, you had been given the power to see into the past or future with a simple touch

But, unlike them, you tend to have both positive and negative sights

"Owl" is what you liked to call your powers

You keep a balance between good and bad things, which makes you able to see much more then your mother or sister could

Upon moving into the SMP, the rumors of your powerful psychic abilities had drowned the town in a matter of hours

And many people approached your black and white castle for a talk

You only had 3 people give you very very negative visions: Dream, Wilbur and Bad.

In Dream's visions you got to see little moments of the man himself destroying the place and people he cherished and cared for the most, driven by a greed to have control over the people going against him;

In Wilbur's you saw the destructions of his masterpiece, L'manburg. And you also got to meet the many different versions to come of the man;

In Bad's you were tied up by red vines, as you gazed upon a growing red egg; it's aura almost putting you into a weird trance. You, unfortunately, got to also get a glipse at Skeppy's unfortunate future

You obviously had to lie to these three about what you saw. Who knows what would happened if you even mentioned a word about it. But you could tell that they were suspicious of you

George and Foolish both had a familiar figure in their future. You just told them that it was a positive sign, even if you didn't the get a chance to glipse at the familiar man;

The two appreciated your time ad thanked you for beinf honest

The rest of your visions weren't good but weren't totally bad

Sapnap, Quackity and Karl's definitely worried you, seeing at how close they were. You definitely kept your mouth quiet with them, but did advice Sapnap to keep an eye on the other two for safety;

Philza and Techno seemed to have a pretty smooth life, but only after the end of an era. They obviously weren't happy about whats to come, but for ready nonetheless

Niki and Eret had a pretty challenging journey ahead of them, so you just encouraged them to not give up. They appreciated the encouragement;

Punz and Sam on the other hand had pretty worrisome futures, from what you got to see, so you advised them to do what they think will be the right thing to do when the time comes. Very vague, but they definitely kept it in mind

Out of everyone you got very close to Karl.

The fact that you knew about his little time travelling secret was the rwason, but also cause you two seemed to weirdly hit it off

He was the colorful crayons to your black and white drawing

Niki and Foolish were also others who you got close to. They basically adopted you under their wing and decided you should be friends, you didn't really get a choice

Even with the amout of knowledge you had about the people in this town, you were pretty happy to be with them

And obviously help them with what their future held

Something you didn't know how to handle tho, was a certain blondes and brunette's future...

It getting more difficult with every vision you got of them

And I think it's relevant to the current Scar Vs Techno poll going on right now. While I love them both (absolutely no hate to Techno here, he's a sexyman but not as much as Scar is) I feel like Scar fits the bill of 'Tumblr Sexyman' way more out of the two of them

Not only does be fit both traditional sexyman standards (white, dark hair, capitalist, tall, a twink, charismatic, has a dark/evil side) and modern sexyman standards (cryptid, non-human, a cannibal, a poor little meow meow, gay) but he can also be buff and a twink and charismatic and a sad boi

Not to mention, JUST LOOK AT THOSE MINECRAFT SKINS and the scitties, I mean, come on...

Techno is a sexyman but he just isn't on the same level

I feel like people are voting for Techno because they see him as the underdog because Scar is the obvious winner of the entire competition and has been since the start (that isn’t just me saying that, from everything I've seen it's the general consensus) and because of that nobody votes for Scar so he becomes the underdog actually at risk of being taken out in each bracket, not the insane tank he should be

I get that nobody wants to vote for the obvious 'popular choice' but in this case YOU ABSOLUTELY SHOULD please I'm begging you

In conclusion, VOTE SCAR, he may seem like the obvious choice but he is not!!!!

Just because Techno's character was mean to your fave doesn't mean he was badly written

And yes I'm too tired of this shit at this point to even pretend to take these kinds of comments at face value when it's so obvious what it's really about, because if you actually cared about his willingness to give his character flaws, you might have noticed that he had a whole fucking arc about dealing with his violent and vengeful impulses and figuring out how to stop alienating people and giving them the wrong idea about his ideology

You can literally just say you personally didn't like the choices he made with his storytelling, stop insulting his writing to validate your feelings

XCOM au trivia time because eh some of this is funny. Specifically Fit and Phil as they're like gold to me.

Fit didn't used to have a surname, just like most kids from the Wasteland don't. He adopted MC because, back when they knew each other yeeears ago, before the war, Philza Minecraft offered Fit his. And it's a bit weird taking someone's name, but Fit liked the ring of having more syllables, so he smushed it down to MC. Usually doing something as noticable as hosting a radio show you'd shorten your name for anonymity not lengthen it and make yourself more obvious, but eh, he likes living dangerously. It's why he keeps going back. It's sort of an allegiance thing to him, you know? Some Wasterlanders use their faction as a name, and to Fit it's a secret way to himself to commemorate the friend the walls took from him without actually using Philza's name and so potentially endangering him by association.

(Yes, this was before Kristin was on the scene. Yes, Fit did eventually work out it was a very banter-flavoured marriage proposal but, no, that wasn't until after he met Pac and asked him about it. Look, he thought it was a bro thing! There aren't marriages or surnames in the wasteland cut him some slack!)

(No, they are not a couple any more. 10 years seperated by at times only eighteen feet of solid lead shell will do that to you. They are, however, very close still. Or perhaps again? Anyone who isn't them is confused, but they know what's going on.)

Without Phil, Fit would probably be dead. Without Fit, Phil would absolutely 2000% guaranteed be dead - or worse a psychically obliterated Federation puppet.

If Fit were capable of forming a soulbond, he and Philza would be terrifying. Not as powerful as Tazercraft - literally nobody is - but they'd be able to have basic level telepathy at very minimum. Unfortunately, Fit is extremely bad at psionics. Bit of a rock. He and Phil are allowed to joke about it fine, other people will but they'll both get defensive. Yes, they know why. No, they won't tell anyone (other than, eventually, the doctor and Ramon)

While Philza is on the morning shift with Fit, Pac, and Mike (and Tubbo, but as chief engineer he doesn't abide by the same shift patterns), he tends to need dragging out of bed to get up on time to eat before his shift, and so misses out on most of the socialisation hours.

There's a whole comedy of errors concerning their recruitment into the Order. Forever was actually looking for Philza - or rather The Angel of Death - but found Fit instead. Arrested. With his crew mostly executed. For blowing up an entire Federation research facility. Fit, already knowing Phil, led him on a bit of a goose chase despite the rescue, ending when he realised a) no this was actually Phil's Tubbo b) these guys were genuinely doing good work Phil probably wouldn't disprove of and c) Missa managed to get kidnapped and leaving Phil to rescue him alone seemed like a shit idea. He still gave Phil Forever's radio frequency and let him make the choice, tho.

Fit and Phil both led non-Order rebel cells prior to their recruitment. The few survivor's of Fit's were folded into the Order when he joined, while Phil left /most/ of his business in Kristin's capable hands. Fit was part of Phil and Kristin's... cell is a bit small, more like heavily fortified and heavily armed apocolypse camp, for a while in the immediate aftermath of the invasion. Back when it was Phil, Kristin, /and/ Techno's (and that's a whole other kettle of fish to fry...)

Okay, listen to me people, I've got a banger AU:

Dsmp but Stray

So, I don't know if anyone remembers but for a little while there was a very small fanfic trend that was just dsmp but Tommy is a cat. Not a magic or special cat, just a normal regular ass cat.

So let's bring back that energy but with a fun post-apocalyptic world thrown in the mix!

I was thinking that Wilbur would be perfect for the B-12 role as well. Mostly because it reflects really well the Ghostbur situation: he basically died and came back as something completely different and with more holes in his memory than intact parts. And trauma of having seen everyone he cared about dying in front of him of course.

As for the other robots I don't know. I was kinda thinking of Ranboo for the Momo role because, well, they were both kind of cowards who resigned themselves to their miserable condition. Though Momo did do something about it as soon as he received some support and I'd like to think Ranboo would too.

Doc and his son would obviously be Tubbo and Michael. Because come on! The badass genius scientist has to be Tubbo! And Doc created the strongest weapon against the zurks in the underground city just like Tubbo did with the nukes to fight Dream. It just fits. Also we get teenage Michael as a treat.

I genuinely don't know who to put in Zbaltazar's place. Maybe Hannah? She's the one with the biggest connection to plants but it feels like a stretch. I dunno, if anyone has any other idea tell me.

I do definitely know who Clementine is gonna be though. Our resident anarchist seems like the only fitting option. Techno. He did love breaking out of jail! He technically did it twice. And Clementine is very acab I gotta say. It just seems like a very obvious choice.

Also, little headcanon for this AU: Quackity is the owner of the night club in the upper part of the city. And the two djs you find there are Slime and Foolish. Literally just because of aesthetics.

Fundy and Sally would be Wilbur's dead family in this one, so no appearences from them.

I imagine Sam as the guardian of the first city because I wanna keep his warden persona but I don't want him as the mindless drones guarding the actual prison.

Okay so I drew the liyue gang react to one of sadist animations in the soft au since I'm not sure it would be possible on the imposter one since her fam can't get to her yet but in the soft their just chilling anyway and it would make the characters possibly see this as a weakness to get their god back or something else I'm not sure but anyway I drew Zhongli, Childe, Ganyu, and Xiao's reactions to how i would have thought they'd react but feel free to state how you think they'd react but Childes is pretty obvious since you posted about it lol and he does act like the type to boldly ask dream and techno for a 2 v 1 fight which he would over course lose unless he doesn't dude to his vision giving him double power since if he didn't he would be able to throw some kicks and punches but would possibly be nocked out in a few minutes but if they were to fight longer this dudes dead because of how much more stamina dream and techno have along with their infinite items and lives lol also didn't have enough space as it's seen to draw more of liyue characters but i will be drawing the other 2 nations but you can decide what four other characters you want in the fourth of their reactions to techno and dreams fight since with would be awesome if you drew the archons along with picked characters reactions to sadists animations of the Smp all the way to final waltz unless you want stop at hog hunt since it may not include the reader dude to them being in another world but we can imagine the reader in dawn of sixteenth along with hog hunt since it would be wired if they just showed up in one vid but it also gives the characters a chance to understand more about their god and her family along with her world if she every gets back or they wanna know what it was like dude to them knowing little of it but back to the drawing besides Childes reaction Ganyu shows a face of fear and confuse since it is said in her quest she no longer knows much about battle and godly hood due to her spending most of her time with humans ajnd its said she takes a different approach in battle so she may be pretty shocked an worried about them due to her not being formular with how people fight in the readers world (the dsmp) and how they go straight for the enemy in a way of hatred and no mercy so if she were to met those two she is so terrified the she forgets to talk since she does have a social problem and they would make it slightly worse cause she doesn't want to make them pissed, Xiao wouldn't be surprised how they fight since back in the days he saw how blood thirty the gods were on the battle ground and he did see his friends who were family to him died in a way of karma for their kills but he would feel threatened since it is said that techno is a god the great magnificent Blood God who has killed many so he is a higher status than him and has ten live but he maybe has one life but can't die easily due to him being years old an still knowing how to hold his own and for dream he still acts the same was he is for techno since dream is also a god you know the XD god unless he's not in the soft au but he still keeps his guard up, and finally Zhongli he's shocked how the gods work in the readers world due to them not holding back and having many options for a wepon of choice but also how they freely walk around making both friends and enemy's out of their names and life due to him wanting to keep himself secret in his new one due to him 'dying' and retiring in his last two but also because he uses threats to get his way along with contracts but it's also been a while he's use violence as an option to win or get something so he'd be wary of they an don't try to persuade them in a contract since they would read him like a book and threaten him back to not mess with them so he'd feel neutral about them but again not mess or interact much towards them so ya they how i would feel they'd react towards the video and draw and techno themselves so sorry about the long rant lmao but see ya soon lol.

Although mostly this idea is just a an idea that both me @reblogs-of-sagau-content thought of which I am still think to put this as a spin off series of The SAGAU seeing High Pixel but for now ill add it on my list since I already have like a list of stories to do for the SAGAU or other genshin ideas as well XD

If we’re being all retrospective about the writing/roleplay and where it worked and didn’t work, calling Wilbur’s writing a dnd campaign of sadness is honestly spot on.

I’m more familiar with the Las Nevadas arc (late to the fandom things) but it’s obvious people with a roleplaying background- especially dming an actual rp campaign before like Slimecicle and Wilbur- lead to just better told stories. They’re conscientious with their character choices, passionate about how a story gets told, and familiar with the idea of writing a character’s faults and shortcomings.

The best thing about Wilbur’s lore is that it was selfless. He said in the wine stream that it was always a story, and always a story for Tommy. That kind of mindset stands the test of time better than “I want my guy to look cool and never fail etc.” People accused Techno of doing that but I actually disagree. I’m vagueing some uhhh other people’s characters with that critique.

I'm going to zero in on your last paragraph first because that's actually one of the biggest strengths I think Wilbur's writing for S1 had... even compared to his later arc. Writing himself as the central character the plot was moving around but not the main character gave him such room to play with what was going on and allowed other characters to breath and shine. Tubbo and Techno and Tommy and Quackity in particular grew in that format of Wilbur's character moving the story forward but them creating stories for their audiences around that. Same with splitting the cast between two locations and then continuously creating events that forced the two sides to interact.

I like that you could watch Tommy's POV of Pogtopia and, because the story was written, with Tommy's character as sorta the gateway POV for anyone just tuning in, you got enough context clues and events that you should be able to figure out what was going on with Wilbur's character and where everyone stood without having too much struggle. That is something S2 desperately needed. With Tommy in exile, there was no one character that sorta bounced around and allowed an average viewer to get a grasp on all sides of the story.

Wilbur's later arc suffered because, even though I think at times Tommy still acted as that Viewer POV into what was going on with Wilbur, there wasn't a living server for his actions to impact. He was the central character, and the main character, and even when he tried to draw people in to the story their actions started and ended with the stream they were in.

But yeah, there were storytellers on that server that left everyone behind. The real key was, like you said, being willing to make your character pathetic now and then and lose when the story requires it. Most people were too busy trying to write cool moments or trying to have the coolest character on a server full of losers to grasp that.

Aside, I mean, I'd argue Techno is sort of the exception to the rule because his character was not meant to lose -- to the point that it was actually a detriment to those around him. He moved plot and provided conflict, even if it was sometimes frustrating, and he was sort of above the conflict going on below him in his little house of cards.

Sale General + Romantic Headcanons

I have been obsessed with this guy recently, he’s so underrated 🩷😔 This is for my fellow Sale fuckers, I know you’re out there! ✊

His full name is Antonio Sale. He is 22 years old and was born on June 26, 1979.

His childhood wasn’t the happiest. He grew up with a struggling mother and absent father. Because he didn’t have many choices, he joined Passione in his teens to get a decent living.

As we have seen, Sale likes power and money. Understandably so. His position isn’t the highest in Passione and even then, many gangsters don’t get paid very well.

He’s quite stingy with money and will mostly spend it on necessities. For him, shopping sprees are pretty much nonexistent.

Despite that, he still has a pretty keen eye for fashion. He finds beauty in simplicity.

He is quiet and introverted. He doesn’t have many friends but is fine with that. Zucchero is probably the only person he really considers a buddy.

His favorite colors are pink and green and his favorite music is usually techno and punk.

He doesn’t eat much but he enjoys, you guessed it, salty foods. But of course, most of his diet is rather nutritious.

He’s quite skinny so he makes up for that with intellect during fights.

Uses Kraftwerk to moves things around if he’s feeling lazy.

He is very good at gambling and often leaves opponents stunned. He gloats at the end about how easily he wins.

Bro has resting bitch face. He knows but that’s only because people he knows (cough cough Zucchero) told him they thought he hated them at first because he looked angry at them 😭😭

He speaks directly in a somewhat monotonous tone and isn’t very expressive, but has a very laidback and chill demeanor.

Like many fans, I HC that he is related to Squalo. Most likely a younger maternal cousin. They aren’t very close but they get along fine. Sale is one of the very few people in the family who supports Squalo and Tiziano’s relationship, which is why Squalo is still in touch with him at all.

With an S/O, despite being a slight cheapskate he is a good boyfriend. Hell, if you are also stingy, it’s a match made in heaven.

His primary love languages are Quality Time and Acts of Service. He’s very lenient so whether you want to go out to a restaurant or stay at home for a date, he’s fine with it because he gets to spend time with you. He will also help you with things around the house if you live together.

You could classify him as a lowkey tsundere. He isn’t very good with words and more obvious expressions of affection, but he will try if you are the sensitive type. He can be very caring with the time calls for it.

Will get a bit gwumpy if you are mushy with him but secretly loves the affection.

If you need to vent, he will listen and give good advice.

Once he achieves his goal of taking over Passione, he would be willing to settle down and get married. Maybe even start a family if he considers it safe enough.

Can we talk about the narrative significance of c!Jschlatt dying of a heart attack instead of at the hands of anyone else? I’m gonna anyway

So I love that c!Schlatt doesn’t die to anyone’s hand. Mostly because I can’t imagine anyone on Wil’s side having both the character traits AND the motivation to kill him in cold blood.

The obvious choice would be Wilbur, but Wilbur isn’t a fighter, he’s a speaker (and more of a tnt guy than a sword guy). Blood on his hands through direct action doesn’t fit his character.

Tommy would be the next choice, but there’s a general theme of attempting (and failing) to preserve his innocence, and his character is played as empathetic and emotional - not the type to kill a defenseless man. He steps up to, and he hesitates.

Technoblade could have killed him, but he doesn’t have the same motivation to do so that Wilbur and Tommy do, he’s driven by the prospect of anarchy, not by any personal hatred or grudge.

Tubbo is along the same lines as Tommy - he’s a kid, and while chaotic and occasionally mildly sadistic and vengeful, Tubbos character at the time wasn’t ready to take that kind of action.

Most of the rest of them are just aggrieved citizens rebelling - they want him gone and are willing to help, but none are poised to actually execute Schlatt.

It’s why I love that he just… dies. It preserves all their characters as they are, AND it creates this empty feeling to their victory - helpfully pointed out by Techno - “We killed an old man with heart problems, POG!” In that… nobody killed him. He just died. There’s nothing to be won, no prisoners to take, no revenge kill. It’s a victory, sure, but it’s hollow, shallow, only full of pity and guilt.

Before it happens, there’s an almost hunger games-esque moment: Tommy is encouraged to kill Schlatt, and he steps up to do it, stalling a little but ready to become their mockingjay. And the heart attack bit cuts that completely - saves Tommy from what is essentially Martyrdom. Tommy can’t be a symbol of L’Manberg because he didn’t actually save it - it’s why I think L’Manberg is so easily influenced later under Tubbo’s presidency - if Tommy had been the “hero” who killed Schlatt, Tubbo would have had more support in defending him from Dream, presumably. But with Tommy as just Tubbo’s best friend and one of the previous leaders, there’s not enough support to save him from exile.

I just love the way it was done. The beat of the story comes to a standstill - everyone there was expecting to have to kill a defenseless drunk man, whether in the heat of the moment or not, and his death halts the pace of the story completely. It drops you from all that emotion directly into reality - All these people just gathered around a man with no weapons or armor and were planning to kill him.

Who was the hero again?

His voiceclaim is Courtney Love but specifically in the Hole song Teenage Whore. I chose Love's voice because of the raspiness and just Raw emotion in it. I do prefer to use examples from her songs though bc of the vocal fry + it's more accurate to my vision

He's my cool guy and of courseeee i had to give him Spider One's voice from Powerman 5000. They've got a pretty deep voice and Spider One's is perfecttt for it

🧤 Chimera Reznor

While on the higher pitch spectrum, their actual voice [not augmented by its stand] is still very broken and often cracks. Her voiceclaim is Jessicka of Jack Off Jill

im. in love with her but listen he is THE most californian person ever man it's almost too much. he's a surfer and a bassist and also born and raised in Los Angeles. literally the closest I can get to is this vid and even then, she always says “dude”, “bro”, or “man” at the end of a sentence with a vocal fry. love and joy

Literally, the hardest one to pin down because their entire character is based on the fact that she is a mirror to people to get them to trust her easier. So the voice is more of a Ranged thing than a set one. I once had them appear in my dream though and I'm so mad i can't exactly send that as an example. But her voice ranges from Damiano David of Måneskin to Meryl Streep's performance as Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada. They usually speak with a very breathy tone, almost whispering in your ear, but with some rasp. For screams though she sounds like the song Nakedness Of Need by Pharmakon. Aaaaand if you're about to get eaten [or are lucky enough to be part of her polycule] they sound like Machine Screw by Type O Negative [which does not have a definitive credit]

🌹 Beatrice Franco

While a very minor character, she's Nikki's mother and I cannot leave her out of this. She sounds like Myss Keta <3

👻 Jing Kalachuchi

They have a small but permanent echo to their voice. It's a voice that is very light and airy, as if a ghost was trying to talk to you. For this, as much as I dislike this person, I think she'd sound like Grimes in the song Oblivion. She doesn't speak much though and often forgets she can't communicate with living people the same way they do with spirits.

🕶 Mariqueen Westwood

My loveeee <3 Her voice often cracks and sounds like its about to give out but she loves to be loud soooo it doesn't matter much to her. For this the best example would be Patti Smith's voice in the live version of My Generation

⌨ NikitA Nakamoto

I can't exactly say what they sound like because 99% of the time they are using a voice augmentor. The closest I can really get to is Viktor from League Of Legends, but you can just imagine a 90s techno DJ and it'd fit ngl

💄 Sayoko Kawakubo

She sounds like Sade 100%. She has a very very smooth voice that is so perfect for her more quiet personality in contrast to her past job as a supermodel

🦠 Sheri Moon Teese

I already had her voice picked out from the beginning and it's Jennifer Tilly's performance as Violet in Bound (1996). It has a very sultry voice that is a joy to listen to [especially to her wife <3]

⛓ Steele [Jäger Wolfgang Heinekein]

This is such an Obvious choice but 💔Peter Steele's voice with a rasp and a heavy ” German “ accent [she's from 1700s Prussia, kinda hard to put that in modern accents]. I can't really get an accurate voice esp since thon's voice is more androgynous in a complicated way to explain but bear with me man

Thierry Itō [can't get the emoji to work on my PC so ill edit this on my phone later]

Probably one of my favorite voiceclaims: Patricia Morrison of The Gun Club, Sisters Of Mercy, and The Damned. They have this smooth and comforting voice and it's really helpful considering they are a therapist. You could listen to anything they say and you just want to hear it until you fall asleep because of how soothing it is.

🍸 Valentino Schiaparelli

Also a favorite of mine, his voice sounds like Prince's. From everything about the pitch, the mannerisms, the dramatics, it just fits him perfectly and most importantly: oh my god he needs to have some slay going for him

👑 Phthonus “The Prince” Morrissey

They've got one of the most recognizable voices imo, and it's that of Jinx from League Of Legends/Arcane. I think it really matches their appearance and the mask they put around others

📐 Guccio Piranesi

He has the voice and wavering of Peter Garrett of Midnight Oil, specifically in the song Beds Are Burning. But he's got a really fun way of talking that I can't just leave out when speaking. He constantly repeats his sentences in different ways to get one point across, so much to the point where he ends up overexplaining and overcomplicating the message so it's hard to understand what he's saying.

While this isn't everyone, the rest I either do not have enough confidence to set down a specific voice, or I haven't developed their character enough yet.

this is more an observation than anything, but there’s this strange discrepancy in how apologists who Also like c!tommy treat canon vs how they interact with other characters.

there’s this tendency from (mainly) dream and techno apologists to soften either the depiction of canon events or the relationship between those characters and c!tommy by taking focus Away From the conflict between them and using another character as a scapegoat.

with techno this will often be a reframing of the situation as l’manberg or quackity or tubbo or wilbur (individually or all together) being the Real Evil that pushed tommy and techno against each other. sometimes it’s a miscommunication born from someone else’s actions (usually wilbur’s back during pogtopia), sometimes it’s tommy needing to learn that techno was right all along (that his friends are all evil or toxic, or on the lighter end that it’s just l’manberg as a system that’s making everyone act out), sometimes it steers away from the personal conflict between them entirely to present the other party as unabashedly evil.

and the ridiculous thing about this is that it’s a narrative that could Easily work, if people recognized that we Have a canonical manipulator and abuser that intentionally sabotaged tommy and the relationships he had with other people through lies, manipulation, and outright abuse. that that Same person has been manipulating techno since his introduction to the series.

and it gets progressively sillier to see people staunchly refuse to use dream as that scapegoat for the tension between tommy and techno’s relationship as we get more and more information about what dream was up to behind the scenes at the time (such as dream being an Actual serial killer canonically [Link])

and then with dream himself there’s this obvious Defocusing on exile, on tommy’s death, or on the logsted chase scene. it’s interesting when you see this line, because Yes there are some people who just fully pretend like dream didn’t do anything wrong while still Liking c!tommy and their dynamic together. which is a sight to behold.

but more commonly you’ll see people who recognize dream as a character who did bad things, but they won’t focus in on What those bad things were. there’s a Playing Up of dream’s sympathetic nature (real or otherwise).

this was obviously felt the strongest with dream being in prison. with aus and fic and “predictions” exploring the possibility of tommy and dream “repairing their relationship” because dream was so pathetic and sad from what quackity had been doing to him that tommy had no choice but to take care of him (and in turn we don’t have to think about the ways that dream would take advantage of that dynamic, because we aren’t Thinking about the specifics of what dream did to tommy).

which, of course, was largely dropped after dream’s escape From prison. but with that came more interesting framing in terms of animatics and fanart.

people trying to juggle framing dream’s escape from prison as a triumphant moment, while Also having to balance the fact that he Is a villain without digging into the details of What It Is Exactly That Makes Him Villainous (or risk ruining those triumphant and sympathetic aspects).

I’m not going to name names, but the example that brought this to the forefront to me was a fan song that used lines and imagery that intentionally called back to logsted (referring back to not only his past abuse of tommy, but him chasing tommy down to torture him after his escape), but specifically within the context of a triumphant I Win song that presented dream as sympathetic throughout. it would’ve been perfect as a pov song if it’d been self aware.

there’s this need to soften the details, to pull away attention from the ugliness of dream’s actions, in order to either present him as a sympathetic character worthy of redemption or to revel in him as a Fun Campy Villain without being bogged down by the severity of his actions (which, I’m living proof that sanding his actions down isn’t necessary for loving the character).

which of course means that those same people will emphasize the villainous actions of other characters to compensate for the Lack of attention on dream’s actions. quackity and sam are the obvious scapegoats (with tommy being the largest scapegoat for the fandom as a whole, but I digress), but wilbur is of course twisted into the main antagonist of the series before his death.

which is strange when you look at a character like ranboo, even coming from the same people.

you’ll have people producing art and writing and meta about dream tormenting ranboo, fully embracing the psychological horror aspects of ranboo’s arc with dream front and center in it, and then turn around around and soften dream’s actions towards tommy until they’re just a footnote.

and it’s interesting to me, because it’s not actually Better.

obviously within canon we don’t know the nature of ranboo and dream’s relationship together. we don’t know if ranboo is helping dream willingly or how aware dream was of ranboo’s memory problems. we don’t have any of the details, so it’s not appropriate to put it on the same level as dream’s relationship with tommy.

but it’s Also true that when you have fan depictions of dream intentionally brainwashing a minor to force them to commit crimes (including the death of one of his closest friends), that’s uh. not Not child abuse! it’s a very different Kind of abuse but it is still Abuse.

but dream’s relationship with tommy is the one that has those stigmatized connotations associated with them, while his relationship with ranboo is couched in terms used in fiction. they’re able to revel in Psychological Horror without having to sidestep “abuse.” but there isn’t actually anything Different about dream’s actions here, they’re the same person with the same motivations, the difference is that they’re afraid to revel in the horror of his actions in one instance and not the other.

there’s something about the horror dream inflicts on ranboo that makes it feel like a Safer horror to fans of both characters, as opposed to fans of dream and tommy, even when those fans are the same people.

and then of course with fans of ranboo and techno there’s no awareness that there’s any potential conflict here at all. people were reveling in syndicate content, presenting them as best pals who’ll have each other’s backs for the rest of time, in the immediate aftermath of ranboo joining the syndicate because he didn’t trust techno not to kill his family. which was one of the funniest juxtapositions I’ve ever seen.
