His gotcha day is 1/28/24. I've been looking to get another hamster for a while and knew I had to have him because he's the exact same color as my cat Spyro.

He's still a skittish guy but will take treats from me and loves running on his wheel.

Сегодня утром его не стало, но я хочу сказать, что он был самым лучшим хомячком в мире и мне безумно его не хватает. Он прожил всего 2 года и 3 месяца и ушёл в первый день весны...

Я хочу похоронить его в красивом месте (в лесу у озера) думаю ему бы там очень понравилось.

In need of rodent care advice? ask away!

Hi! I have a lot of experience as an owner to hamsters (I've had every captive species as an adult except chinese hamsters), mongolian gerbils, mice, and african pigmy dormice. I have breeding or rescue litter experience with winter white hybrids, campbell's russian dwarf hybrids, african pygmy dormice, mice, and just began breeding syrians. I am well versed in USA minimums and care standards for each of these species, and especially for mice I take a very science oriented care route. Feel free to send an ask if you have questions about care, supplies, diet, health, etc with these species! If you ask about a sick pet, depending on the issue it will likely need vet help, I'm also happy to help you locate a vet nearby that sees the species you have!

While my blog is primarily focused on my special interest of vintage hamster cages, I give up to date advice backed by science and fully with the belief that each individual animal is different, and finding what works for one may not work for another. I also am understanding of the state the US is in, and as long as you are providing at least laboratory minimums I do not think you are abusive. While a 10 gallon tank isn't considered a pet standard ethical for a hamster, scientifically it IS ethical, and if you are unable to provide larger for some reason (parents won't let you, cannot afford a larger enclosure atm, etc) it is important to instead offer as much enrichment as possible. I will always educate on what is recommended by pet keepers, but will also give situation specific advice as long as you give me as much info to work with as possible!

Please remain civil in reply to any ask where an owner is unable to provide all that the pet community wants to require, driving owners further away from the community only makes it harder to educate.

I'm happy to release a new version of my hamster card game: Sunflower Seeds! The new "regular" edition is in box packaging with poker sized cards, and is available at a cheaper price than the original "tin" edition. The tin edition is sturdier and has smaller cards, while the regular edition is more standard card game style.

Кормила вчера Бенни вкусняшками. Он очень любит сыр, сырую курочку, яблочное пюре и варёное яйцо с жидким центром 🍳🍗🧀🍏 Так что у него был прекрасный ужин, хотя он всё равно успел на меня порычать (потому что он не любит когда вторгаются в его личное пространство).

Маленькому Сакуре я купила лакомство для грызунов в виде мороженка 🍦 там очень много семечек и всего, что любят хомячки 🐹 Он долго пытался перетащить этот огромный рожок в свою постель, но в итоге сточил половину и бросил 😅

А это мои дружочки-пирожочки 😽😺 Аляска получил в подарок новую шлейку с поводком (специально для котиков) и терпеливо, как пёс, ждал, когда я выведу его на прогулку. В итоге он устал, замёрз и забрался ко мне на ручки, чтобы я его несла весь обратный путь домой. Ну конечно, у него же лапки 🤣

got a cracky headcanon that has so much sugary fluff in it that i don't feel shameless enough to post it as a fic lol

so my bard wood half elf, layla, has a guild artisan background--i vaguely headcanoned it as a kind of backup career she prepared for, in case the swordfighting-and-barding around faerun gig didn't work out. so mostly like intermediate-level woodworking, with some textiles/embroidery knowledge on the side

and then in the case of the stuffed toys plot, she gets so pissed off about that, that she asks the flaming fist guard in charge of the donations storehouse if she could take the box of them and clean them up and fix them before re-sending them back to donations

'sure, why not' the guy says, 'i already filed my report on it and all. i'll keep one of them for evidence but take the rest'

then back at camp, her companions watch as she's cleaning off all these toy teddy bears, refluffing them, and tearing apart a bunch of fancy clothes they swiped off of cazador's palace after freeing astarion, and making little outfits for them

so u get some bears with princess hats, and bears with cloaks, and bears in like little doublets and such in shiny brocades and silks. some of them have little wooden sword accessories tied to their belts too lol

(she even gets gale to cast several fireproofing and waterproofing spells over the whole lot)

layla also ends up handing one (a teddy bear with white fur, in a little dark outfit with silver embroidery decorations) to astarion, who stares at it in puzzlement for five whole minutes

"darling," he says slowly, "as much as i adore anything that comes from your hands, you do know i am an over 200-year old elf right?"

layla holds up another teddy bear, this one in a little purple dress that also has embroidery done on it

"he comes in a pair," she says, wholly straight-faced. "they're supposed to match"
