i hate him.
no you don’t. no i don’t. i just hate the fact that he looks good while riding his motorcycle, hate the way his lean body fits his jacket perfectly, and i absolutely hate the fact that he’s my brothers best friend.
don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with sebastian, but in my eyes? everything is wrong with him. he’s so wrong for making my heart beat 2x faster when he’s around, so wrong for making me feel like i’m the only girl he talks too when i know i’m not. so wrong when he said that it was never gonna happen, then almost kisses me in the dark
i hate when he gives me these longing looks and smiles, whilst holding onto a different girl, hate that when my brothers around he acts like he doesn’t care, when in fact, he does. but at what stage? as his best friends little sister or more ?
he says we’re friends but i’m catching him across the room.
but the moment another male gets close to me, he gets all cold and distant, barely making eye contact and always trying to show of the girl he’s with. acting like he doesn’t care when i know he does, all the small glances making sure i know what he’s doing when he’s holding someone else, showing affection to someone that’s not me. i know it’s not my fault but why does it feel like it is? maybe i’ll get used to it, but right now i just feel like shit
and there’s no way that’ll i’ll end up being with you, but friends don’t look at friends that way.
so screw you sebastian moy. screw you for making me fall unwillingly in love with you.

⚛︎TENNESSEE WHISKEY⚛︎
Tumblr media
—⚛︎
Summary: when you and your friend crash a wedding one Saturday night, you meet a handsome stranger who seemed to enjoy the hockey game more than the wedding itself, just like you.
Warnings: not really any, I think maybe some cursing, it’s adorable though
Author’s Note: this is set around 2015, right before Travis started for the Flyers, so you don’t know who he is yet. And I know he’s from Canada but he’s in Philly because he’s gonna join them soon.
—⚛︎
GIGGLES WERE HEARD THROUGHOUT THE HALLWAYS, YOU AND YOUR BEST FRIEND NATALIE BOTH WITH HALF EMPTY WINE GLASSES IN YOUR HANDS, DRESSED IN YOUR FINEST DRESSES. It was a Saturday night, you were bored, and drunk, and the grand hall at the hotel you had been staying at seemed to be calling your name. In your tipsy mind, crashing the wedding reception seemed like the perfect idea. You had no idea whose wedding it was, or where they came from, but it was Saturday night, who cared.
“So, do you know the bride or groom?” Someone asked, making you and Nat turn and look at each other as you entered the room.
“The bride!” She shouted, and you nodded along, both of you shaking your heads vigorously.
“Yes, such good friends.” You continued
“The goodest.” She finished. You both turned to each other and giggled again, the effects of the wine hitting harder than before.
“We know her from college.” She continued, and the man nodded in understanding, not noticing the goofiness of it all.
“Oh at Rowan?” He asked. You gave him a thumbs up as Nat died laughing beside you.
“Of course.”
“Go Lions!” Nat cheered, earning an odd look from the man as you two began giggling again and running away. Filling up two more glasses of wine, you both decided you had danced enough for now. Your feet were sore from your heels that you refused to take off -dirty floors- and you both went upstairs to the mini bar to sit down for a minute. Well, that and also the fact that the hockey game was playing on tv, and even with a wedding reception going on before you, you couldn’t find anything more interesting. When Nat went to get another drink, she smiled down at her phone, hitting your shoulder aggressively.
“What, what, WHAT!” You shouted, and Nat downed her wine before handing you the glass.
“Alex just got here. I have to go get her outside, you know, her morals and all.” She said, making you roll your eyes, still watching the tv screen.
“Yeah yeah fine, go.” You shooed her away, your eyes still trained in the screen.
“Alright, see you cutie.” She said, ruffling your hair before walking away. It was a few minutes later, your team still losing to their biggest opponent and you began getting angrier at the tv.
“No! What were you born last night! Idiot.” You shouted at the tv, as if they could hear you. You were so focused, and let’s face it, drunk, you didn’t even hear the door to the bar open and close.
“This is why I watch women’s sports.” You groaned, downing your drink before nodding at the bartender for another.
“Who’s winning?” You don’t even turn to spare the man a glance, shaking your head angrily.
“The freaking penguins.” You grumbled, making the guy beside you scoff.
“Figures.”
“You’d think at one of the biggest games of the season they’d take it more seriously.” You grumbled, downing your drink.
“They could use some new guys, new fresh meat you know?” He said, making you shrug.
“Well, I love my team, of course I do. I just don’t know what they’re doing. It’s like they forgot how to play.”
The guy beside you chuckled, and you chuckled too, finally looking at him for the first time. No matter how many drinks you had, it seemed as if looking in his eyes made you sober. The strangest feeling. You met eyes with him and fireworks erupted into your stomach. As if the team just scored a goal, sirens sounded in your mind, your eyes swimming in his greenish blue ones. He seemed to think the same, because all hope was lost when he smiled softly at your appearance.
“Oh wow.” You mumbled, not being able to control the words falling from your mouth. He chuckled, his cheeks tinting red as he looked down.
“I could say the same.”
You both were lost in each other’s gaze, but your attention was cut short when the announcer on the tv began to pick up with excitement.
“Go..GO!” You both began shouting, almost forgetting the moment you shared as you both jumped out of your seats.
“YES!” You yelled, making your own siren sounds as the team scored a goal. You both began jumping excitedly, and turned to the man beside you with joy.
“I’m so happy I could kiss you!” You yelled, making him stop jumping, his eyes lighting up. You threw a hand over your mouth. “Oh my god why did I say that.” You said nervously, but he didn’t seem to have minded all to much. His arm found its way around your waist, pulling you slightly closer to him.
“Y/N! Come on they’re playing disco I need my dance partner!” Nat screamed, running into the room and locking her arm with yours. You looked over at the man, giving him one last glance before giving up and walking out with Natalie.

AFTER HAVING DANCED THE NIGHT AWAY, THE MUSIC STARTED TO SLOW, AND IT WAS TIME FOR THE HAPPY COUPLE TO ENJOY EACH OTHER FOR A BIT, THE SLOW DANCING PERIOD. Nat and Alex broke away from you to dance together, leaving you alone, figures. Now you were sitting at an empty table, drinking, still, just you and your lonesome.
“Not a slow dance kinda gal?” The same man from before asked, holding a glass of whiskey and smiling at you. You’re heart skipped a beat when you looked over.
“Well, I would be but, unfortunately I came alone. Always.” You mumbled, mentally cursing yourself for over sharing. The man nodded.
“Yeah, me too. The love of my life is reserved for Hockey.” He said, making you shake your head in agreement.
“Right? Games over now so, I get to wait for these two lovebirds to leave.” You said, pointing at Nat and Alex who were happily swaying to the music. He nodded in agreement. You both sat there in silence, watching the scene around you. It wasn’t awkward silence, or bad, mostly just comfortable silence. Even though you barely knew this guy, somehow sitting together in silence felt right, like a nice breather from everything else. From the flyers loss, from your own personal dread, and loneliness. Cause as much as you loved being alone, you hated being lonely. It’s this guy, who you had only known for about a day now, who you seemed to enjoy being alone together with, so it got rid of the loneliness. The tune of Tennessee Whiskey by Chris Stapleton began playing, pulling you from your daydreams and you smiled to yourself, humming the song.
“Oh, I love this song.” You whispered, holding a hand to your heart with joy.
“Me too.” The man smiled at you as you hummed the song; his new favorite sound. He got up, and extended a hand. “May I have this dance?”
“Of course.” You said, smiling widely as he pulled you up into his arms. You both began to sway to the music, your head rested on his chest as you did. You felt comfortable, free. That could’ve been the alcohol talking but your heart felt drawn to this man. You pulled away, smiling at him.
“Thank you, for this. I really needed it.” You mumbled, taking a deep breath out as you settled into his embrace.
“Of course. I figured after the flyers loss you’d be pretty bummed.” You scoffed and rolled your eyes.
“And how would you know that? You don’t even know my name.” You remarked, and he smirked back.
“Y/n.” You looked up at him in shock, but before you could ask how he knew, he continued. “I heard your little friend say it when she pulled you away.”
“Right.” You chuckled to yourself. “She is little isn’t she.” He chuckled back, the most genuine heart warming laugh you’d ever heard -you’re new favorite sound. Your eyes met his eyes again, and those fireworks came back. His arm wrapped around your lower back, pulling your face and body closer to his. You’re mind didn’t even register how close your faces were until he lifted your chin slightly, bringing your lips to his. It was sweet and gentle, like if he kissed you any harder you could break under his arms. And it was short but sweet, and felt like heaven and the stars had aligned. It didn’t even matter how short it was, it seemed to last hours. Like it was where they belonged.
“I didn’t catch your name.” You whispered, forehead touching his as you  aught your breath.
“I didn’t throw it.” He remarked, making you scoff and roll your eyes.
He chuckled, making you laugh as well. And just as you were about to speak again he pulled your lips back, this time with more want, more passion. This time was longer, a sort of never letting go type of feeling. It dove deeper, not just the physicality itself but with all of it. Something more personal, more close. It was driven and lustful, like at any moment it could become something more. You wanted it to become something more. But alas, your fantasy was soon interrupted when the booming voice of your little friend pulled the two of you apart.
“Y/N! Come on! They know!” Nat shouted, both her and Alex appearing out of breath on either of your sides.
“What? Uh-um-who-what?” You asked, still in shock. You looked over to the man before you, then back at the girls.
“They know we don’t belong here, now hurry up before they kick us out!” Nat said, trying to nudge your arm for you to leave but you wouldn’t budge.
“But,” you looked at the man. “But, I, um, we, him…” you stuttered. Natalie rolled her eyes, both her and Alex each grabbing one of your arms and pulling you away.
“Wait! No!” You shouted, but you turned around and it was too late, he was gone.
“Shit.”

YOU’VE HAD MANY A DEPRESSING NIGHT SINCE THE NIGHT OF THE WEDDING. That feeling of longing always lingered in your chest. You could still feel his fingers on your hips, taste his lips on yours. You hadn’t even found out his name. It felt as if it was fate, being there with him, yet now he was gone. Who knew if he was local to Philly or if he was visiting for the wedding. For all you knew he could live in Canada and you’d never have known.
You sighed desperately, walking around the supermarket for your weekly groceries. You and Nat had been roommates ever since you graduated high school, and had been pros at making bar drinks. So every week on Friday night you’d have a drink night, with movies and a few friends where you’d mix new drinks. You’re heart felt a little heavier this week, especially after hearing the theme for Friday would be Whiskey. So you walked around to find ingredients for your classic cocktails and this week's drink, an old fashioned. The plan was to watch the hockey game, and drink. Of course, all your favorite things had to bring you back to that night.
Even now walking through the store, you’re favorite song now playing over the speakers, Tennessee Whiskey. Figures
“I love this song.” You whispered, sighing as you struggled to reach the tub of maraschino cherries.
“Me too.” Someone said beside you, grabbing the tub of cherries you tried to reach. You turn and look at him to be met with the face of the man you had danced with at the wedding. Your eyes lit up with joy and you pointed at him.
“It’s you!”
“Travis.” He said, a kind smile as he handed you the cherries. “Konecny.”
You smiled at him, nodding. He extended his hand to you as you put the cherries in the cart, making you chuckle.
“Now that we’re no longer strangers, May I have this dance?” He asked politely, giving you that same devilish smile you missed so dearly.
“Of course.”
So just like before, the two of you began to dance, subtly swaying to the music. You didn’t even care that you were in the middle of the grocery store, or that you still barely knew the man in front of you, all you cared about was this. The warmth it brought you, the joy. The euphoria radiating off your bodies being so closely connected. You knew somewhere deep down, as your head rested on his chest, listening to the soothing sounds of his heartbeat, that this was the start to your forever.
