"You didn't lose in my eyes," you started as you gazed into his eyes, "it was just a learning experience for the whole team. Come on, cheer up. Wakatoshi isn't down, so neither should you be." you chirp as he shows his usual goofy grin and stands up proudly.

"I'm not down, who are you kidding?" he exclaims as he grabs your hand eagerly, pulling you into a quick kiss before dragging you off towards the gym.

"Ten, where are we going-"

"Wakatoshi!" Tendo exclaims, the whole gym going silent as he drug you along behind him towards the taller, collected man.

"Yes, tendou?"

"You sparked something in me today. I think we should throw a party for this-"

Akaashi & Sugawara & Oikawa , Tendou/Semi , Drunk Baking

Semi is hanging out at the trio's apartment working on their group project for the Art History class they are all taking. Of course, working turns into drinking, which ends with all four of them rummaging through the cupboards to find ingredients for chocolate drizzled pastries. They have everything but the most essential item––chocolate. But, Semi has a plan.

"Hey darling, light of my life, the reason I wake up in the morning," Semi says into his phone when he hears Tendou answer.

"Are you drunk?"

"Psshhh, yeah a little. Do we have chocolate at home?"

"Do we have... Yes, of course there is chocolate at home," Tendou says laughing.

"Great! I am going to need you to grab it and bring it to the address I am going to text you."

"Wait, why-”

Semi hangs up the call and texts the address to the apartment.

"How looooong will he be?" Oikawa whines.

"Probably like a half hour or so"

"Can he bring us food food?" Akaashi's stomach growls as he asks.

Semi nods and writes out a second text asking Tendou to bring them food. He doesn't feel bad about it, he knows his boyfriend is just going to bring some leftovers from the restaurant he works at.

Tendou does indeed arrive a little over a half hour later with bags of food and the chocolate from their pantry. He offers to help Suga with the baking, and is allowed under the condition that he take few shots before they start. After all, you can't make a drunk baking video without everyone being drunk.

you tell him (and the rest of the team that is listening) that you're trying to quit smoking

It's like a quiet uproar, they are shocked, pleased, surprised

Ushijima is quite pleased and immediately offers a workout regimen and other things to distract you 

Tendou basically opens his trench coat to a variety of gum types including nicotine and black black gum

this is where semi gets his stash of gum, and why they’re besties

anyways they all voice their support for you as you’re going through this

they are definitely understanding and as you get over the withdraw hump, they are kind of walking on eggshells around you

Which you notice and you hate it, but you just don't know how else to get around this other than just going cold turkey and suffering through the withdrawal

once you get over that hump, you are in a better mindset, and definitely happier and less restless

then things go back to normal and ya’ll are besties again

however when they know that things are stressful for you like finals, or big tournaments, then they are prepared

honestly Tendou is uber prepared he has everything you need, and is like a pro at redirection and distraction

Ushijima is like the firm hand you need that is just like -_- no

Reon, Yamagata, are there to banter with you and gossip like the aunties

Shirabu is just there in the background, but before you quit he would definitely try to hide the cigs from you, he seems like a shithead

and Goshiki is just there he follows you around like a puppy and honestly he misses the time he would spend outside with you, so he is always trying to be around you to get that time

you have to explain to him that you quitting is a good thing, but that doesn’t mean you don’t want to talk to him

anyways back to the program, they would be all ready to help you through the stressful times like Tendou and semi give them all a pep talk and give them their different assignments

once you are successfully off of the cigarettes they throw you a little party with a cake that has the no smoking sign on it

overall they are a super supportive team and just want the best for you, even if it’s on your terms

it takes law just a little while to warm up to you, since neither of you are sure of what exactly to do with this newfound relationship. neither of you are particularly affectionate, but behind closed doors, one can find law placing a short + sweet kiss to the middle of your forehead, or running his fingers across the skin of your lower back. you’re both too blunt + honest for your own good, but words that would singe others melt into soft requests + sweet chastises when talking with each other. law likes that you help him come out of his shell a little bit, especially when you make him laugh. he’d forgotten what the sound of his own laughter had sounded like + he’s not particularly pissed that you’ve coaxed that side back of hiding. you can do this just by laughing; your loud, delirious, carefree laughter is infectious + contagious to him, so he can’t help but smile + (sometimes, just sometimes) let out a chuckle of his own. 

once you are both in the groove of your low key relationship, law becomes an expert at reassurance, just for you. it seems like every time he tells you how he feels for you, or how you’re the only one for him, or how he’d do anything to keep you safe, he’d actually taken it from a love poem + replaced your name, your features, you attributes with whoever the love poem was originally for. but you’d have to believe me when i say, all of these words he’s telling you are spontaneous + from the heart. it’s what he’s feeling in the moment + he won’t keep that a secret from you, since he knows you need it + he’d do anything to keep you smiling that radiant smile of yours.

your relationship with tendou is just like your friendship with tendou, except there’s way more affectionate touches, affectionate words, affectionate gazes…on tendou’s part at least. you both truly balance each other out in a beautifully smooth way. he is affectionate enough for the both of you + you’re able to be his brain/logic at times when he really needs it. you wouldn’t change a single thing about each other.

as for things tendou loves to do with you, karaoke is at the top of his list !! you two could spend hourssss at a karaoke parlor, choosing different anime openings to sing along to. tendou has this weird but hilarious habit of choosing a really popular pop song + making up his own lyrics for it. he thinks his lyrics are better + makes it more fun, so why the hell not? if not at a karaoke parlor, one can find the two of you chillin at yours/his house. he prefers YOUR house, though. do you know why? tendou is absolutely smitten with your cats. everytime you open the door to greet him, he rushes straight past you to go searching for the little ones. he likes to pick em up + nuzzle his face into the soft fur of their bellies, or make em stand on their hind legs + give em voices so it looks like they’re little walking, talking kitties !! he’s obsessed with them, you should be honored.

once tendou’s had his fill of the cats (which he insists could never happen), he’ll lay down + chill out with you. you guys like to watch anime/read manga together, telling each other funny things that happen or showing each other cool fight scenes that spark your interest. if you were to ask tendou, though, he didn’t really have a list of his favorite things to do with you…as long as you’re there, that’s all that really matters to him.

omg this has been bugging me for SO long bc the translation of washijo’s line in the anime is so different than the official scans. these screenshots are taken from a fan translated rough scan from when the chapter first released yeeeears ago, where the official translation has his line as “if you’re gonna have a campfire, bring marshmallows first” and the anime line as “if you’re gonna get caught staring at least stare at a girl.” the line in the official manga translation takes into account the context of a panel before where michimiya says “it’s a campfire :o!” from the crowd but then i always felt like tendou laughing at goshiki agreeing kinda doesnt reeeally hit as a joke. then on the other side, the anime omits the tiny context blurb of michimiya watching and saying “campfire” so instead of keeping the line about volleyball they translate it to kinda ONLY be about the ‘looking at a girl’ idea which does make tendou’s laughter make sense BUT then it also didnt really hit for me bc like, why is he suddenly yelling now and not relating it at all to volleyball. basically ive felt like i was missing something the whoooole time so i finally looked up fan translations out of curiosity and this make so much more sense. IT HAS THE REALY VOLLEYBALL CONTEXT/COMMON TERMS ANDDD THE JOKE FLOWS

*(campfire/husband-and-wife is when two players both think the other is gonna get the ball so neither of them move and they are both left just kind of staring at each other as the ball comes down between them and they lose the point)

Some extras: I’m artistic and musical (I play piano). I have a major sweet tooth. I’m pretty shy and very introverted, I never go out unless my friends invite me to do something. But that’s not to say I hate being social, i do like socializing it’s just difficult. I’m short and pretty petite, only 5’0”, and I do like big height differences but it’s not a requirement. "what does that mean?" you ask. the sight in front of you is slightly less confusing, the plastic piping bags and smeared red food coloring making slightly more sense. the small plastic bags with various colored toppings and the jars of different flavored fruit jams becoming clearer. he doesn't even have to answer you. you start nodding, "i see, okay." and then you erupt in laughter, smiling painfully at his attempt to connect your interests. he did say that it was going to be a fun surprise. he wasn't wrong.

he teaches you a bunch of fancy chocolate techniques and terms and he helps you pipe the hot chocolate into little molds and he shows you how to pipe freehand onto the cold counters and when you're done you have, actually, some really cool looking creations, all edible.

"here," he says, picking up the chocolate he's made, "you try mine."

he offers the small sweet to you, extending his hand out for you to take it. a subtle surprise and a not-so-subtle blush spreads across his face as you lean down, mouth open, and take the chocolate from his fingers. your lips close around his fingers, tongue swiping over the pads where the chocolate has melted against his warm skin.

"it's really good," you admit, less sultry than you intend because it is, wow, really good.

he laughs at this, adjourned with a proud smile as he lifts another chocolate to your lips. "another?"

"satori, can you please be serious for once in your life?! nothing is going to get solved unless you actually listen to me!"

ever since you met the red-haired miracle boy, you quickly took notice of how often he didn't take anything seriously. it was a blessing and a curse, really. whenever things got a little too tense, he never got worked up about it and made some sort of joke in order to make you crack a smile. but this time, you just wanted him to pay attention to you.

tendou had been going out a little too late every night, sometimes not even coming home until the next morning. it made you feel lonely, having to reach out to expect a warm body but met with the cold silk of the bed sheets. you hated it. you would text him multiple times before you went to bed, waiting for something, any type of response. but you were left with nothing.

you had finally gotten the chance to catch him before he went out for the night again, absolutely fed up with feeling neglected.

"i am listening, paradise. i haven't even been going out a lot lately. don't you think you're being a bit overdramatic?"

you couldn't stand how calm he sounded, how he acted like this was no big deal. "i'm not being overdramatic. you've gone out every single night this week, only to come back the next morning. i've slept in our shared bed alone every single night. still want to say i'm being overdramatic?!"

tendou rolled his eyes, a sarcastic smirk creeping up on to his face, as if he were mocking you. "y/n-chan, how about you take the stick that's up your ass and give it to someone who actually cares. you can't control me, just like i can't control you. deal with it."

he didn't give you a chance to respond before he was turning the knob to the front door.

"tendou, if you walk out that door, don't expect me to be here in the morning."

he paused, "what's that supposed to mean?" he scoffed, his back still facing your angry figure.

"it means i'm done. you said yourself to- what was it? 'take the stick that's up my ass and give it to someone who actually cares.' i'll be gone before you get back."

it was as if a bucket of ice had just been poured over his entire body, the shock from the venomous words spewing from your mouth making him freeze. you had already turned to walk back to the bedroom, putting in everything to keep your emotions at bay. if he wasn't going to give a shit about you, why should you give a shit about him?

it had been about 10 minutes since your ultimatum, your boyfriend still had not come in even after you had gotten ready for bed. you hadn't heard the front door shut, so you weren't sure if he had really left yet. your heart felt empty as soon as your head hit the pillow; all you wanted was for him to stay home and be with you instead of doing god knows what. you were asking the bare minimum, and he couldn't even give it to you.

the loud thoughts clouding your brain had inevitably led you to break down, the salty tears already cascading down your cheeks. you turned your head into the pillow to silence your sobs, hoping that tendou had left so he wouldn't see how broken you really were.

but, the universe had other plans, as you felt the bed dip behind you, a nimble hand making its way into your hair. you turned around to see your lover looking at you with sad eyes, something you've rarely ever seen. you furrowed your brows, confused as to why he was still here.

"i thought you left..." you whispered, your voice slightly hoarse from crying.

"i'm not going anywhere, not when my paradise needs me," the red-haired middle blocker admitted.

he explained to you his thought process after you had left him alone at the front door. he had looked back to these past few days, slowly realizing that you were completely right. he had been to oblivious to your sad gazes every time he went out, your hands reaching out for him in the morning when he came home, the bags under your eyes from staying up late with hopes that he'll come home early.

he was an idiot, and he couldn't believe that his neglect of you had made it this far.

"i'm so sorry, y/n-chan. i'll try- no, i'll do better. i never want to lose you over my stupidity. let me make it up to you, if you'll let me?"

you pondered his words for a moment, sitting up slowly as you held his gaze. you hesitantly grasped his hand in yours, your thumb stroking the back of his.

"...okay, 'tori. but if this happens again, i'm gone. understood?"

he nodded his head as he smiled brightly at you, tackling you in a much needed hug.

"i love you, my paradise."

"i love you too, satori."

A Homemade Kingdom (And Paper Crowns) || s.tendou

Tendou sat leaned against the streetlamp, a laugh leaving his mouth and turning the air white. There was no one else here, just the moon and stars watching, just the two of you feeling like you were on top of the world.

“Having fun?” You asked, lying on the hood of your car.

“Yeah,” He said, smiling and giggling to himself about some joke he was yet to tell you. He looked drunk, or maybe high, but it was the lack of sleep. You hadn’t check the time in a while, but the last time you had, it was midnight.

“What’s so funny, lover boy?” You joked, offering him a confused look.

He just smiled and tapped his fingers against the metal post, the tink tink tink unusually loud in the empty parking lot. He had a distant look in his eyes, gaze set on something you couldn’t see. Or maybe imagining something he hadn’t shared with you yet.

“Just thinking, pup,” He said, grinning and looking back over to you. “about us. We’re invincible, ya’know? Feels like it, anyway.”

A quiet laugh left your lips, looking up at the endless sky. It looked vast and emptiness, decorated with tiny little bursts of light. It made you feel small, in a way. Although, looking back down at the Earth, a feeling like forever spread through you.

“Yeah.”

“Hey, babe?” Tendou’s voice followed the sound of your door opening.

You looked over to find him holding his hands - or rather, he had something in his hands - behind his back. You hummed, “Hm?”

“I’ve got something for you,” Your boyfriend laughed, still not showing you what was behind his back.

“Well, are you gonna show me?” You laughed, trying to look behind him.

He brought the gift around to show yo. When you laid your eyes on the folded and cut pieces of paper you were confused for a moment. You looked up to him a confused expression, waiting for him to give an explanation to what he had just offered.

He didn’t, he just smiled.

“What are these for?” You finally had to ask.

“You know we’re gonna be the monarchs of everything one day, right? Even if we have to start out with paper crowns.”

“And in an empty parking lot?”

“Well yeah, pup. Where else would it be?” Tendou laughed again, placing the crown atop your head. He grabbed the second one and put it on, offering a cocky smile. “It’s just rehearsals for the show, anyway.”

Tendou sighs heavily, locking his phone and tossing it away from himself. He rolls over, cheek rested on his bent arm while he watches your phone instead.

“Something wrong?” You hum, absentmindedly pressing a kiss to his forehead.

“No, just bored of cycling through the same three apps,” he grumbles, scooting closer to toss an arm over your waist and pillow his head in your shoulder. “Watcha watching?”

“Mm,” you huff a small laugh when he starts lightly brushing his lips against your neck. “How to make your own lavender salt.”

“What would that even be good on?” He questions, sliding a hand under your shirt to casually cup your boob.

It was one of his odd habits. Tendou has restless hands that always had to be doing something and one of his favorites was just grabbing your boob.

“I dunno,” you mumble, bringing your free hand up to play with his hair. “look, it’s a pretty purple.”
