Don’t you remember rachell?

The way your father used to call

you chiquita and his eyes meant

every word –

but never in your 22 years

told you he loved you.

So you tried to learn

how to love yourself.

some days, the love is there

because the mirror is your mom,

and you love her, right?

This is the only thing she left you.

Listen Rachell –

Don't be sad.

Today is only fleeting

tomorrow isn’t here yet

but the sky

will keep whispering for you

to write your name in stars.

If you did

your feet will never kiss sand again.

There is enough space in this world

for you – just claim it

your arms can spread wide enough

to each tip of Earth,

why only limit yourself to your toes?

Imagine how it would have felt

if he loved you

just as you did him

Could you have been happy

With your neck stuck

at his grip

as he took the love

from yourself?

Believe me Rachell –

Building home

is not about getting others to help you

set down cement,

their faces will only leave traces

behind and will crack with age.

Do not fear loneliness

It is a friend hidden in uncharted shadows,

wanting the same things

you’ve never wanted to admit.
