Do TERFs not realize how deranged they look when they comment "you will never be a man, you dumb little girl" on a post of a trans guy who has a thicker beard & looks more masc than like half of cis men I know.
Don't get me wrong, it's fucked up no matter what the person looks like, but when it's someone who passes perfectly, the transphobes just end up looking like they've been day drinking for the past 30 days straight and need to have their phones taken away.

What's distressing, but also important to understand, about JK Rowling hitting the "Denying trans people were targeted in the Holocaust" point is that it's kind of the last stop before she just goes full alt-right weirdo.
Joanne is denying the Holocaust (if a group was targeted, denying they were targeted is Holocaust denial) and that's going to lead to pushback from historians and experts. But Joanne is too deep in to believe what anyone who disagrees with her says, so she's just going to dismiss what those historians and experts tell her. And once she's disbelieving them about that one thing, well it's just a tiny step to start disbelieving them about other things.
This isn't by accident either, transphobic circles are swarming with far right agitators, ready to use hatred of trans people as an in to recruit people into their causes. They have handbooks for this sort of thing and they are, unfortunately, good at it. I suspect Joanne will be spouting coded versions of Great Replacement stuff by the end of the summer.
This is not a plea to try and pull Joanne out. She's too deep in, and even if she wasn't, she's already demonstrated an inability to examine her own prejudices, an unwillingness to hear criticism and a weakness to flattery. She is perfect recruitment bait for people who know what they're doing, and my impression is she's surrounded herself with people like that.
No, this is to understand two things: First is to use her as an example, to understand how a well meaning liberal can chase their own prejudices down a very dark rabbit hole. We are none of us immune to propaganda and even if we can't change what's happened to her, we can at least use it to protect ourselves.
And second is to understand that one of the main reasons you can't pull Joanne out of the transphobic pipeline is cause she is the pipeline now. She is the transphobic banner bearer now, she is funneling money and attention to these groups, she is their most famous celebrity and she is helping recruit people. Being able to show people how far she's gone, how deep into the right wing rabbit hole she's going, is important to help other people who still think she just "Had some concerns" know where her path leads.

March 25, 2023 - TERF piece of shit Posie Parker had to cut her transphobic event in Auckland, New Zealand, short after a huge crowd of locals decided to run her fascist ass out of town, and she was covered in tomato sauce.
She was so shaken by the event she ended her entire transphobic tour of Australia and New Zealand, which so far had mostly proven popular with literal neo-nazis, and fled the country entirely. Good job, Auckland! [video]/[video]

Transphobes are freaking out over this because if trans women can give birth then their piss-poor list of what it takes to be a "real woman" gets smaller and they're freaking out over "the man who stole some poor woman's uterus!"
Except, like you can read without clicking on the article right there- this transplant is between two cisgender sisters. (Cisters, if you will.) One sister was infertile.
Now, could this mean that trans women might be able to give birth in the future with a uterus transplant? Maybe. I hope to see that day. (I'd donate mine if I could. I dunno if my organs would be any good to anybody because of my blood disorder.)

In this book you focus on the idea of gender as a global ‘phantasm’ – this charged, overdetermined, anxiety- and fear-inducing cluster of fantasies that is being weaponised by the right. How did you go about starting to investigate that? Judith Butler: When I was burned in effigy in Brazil in 2017, I could see people screaming about gender, and they understood ‘gender’ to mean ‘paedophilia.’ And then I heard people in France describing gender as a Jewish intellectual movement imported from the US. This book started because I had to figure out what gender had become. I was naïve. I was stupid. I had no idea that it had become this flash point for right-wing movements throughout the world. So I started doing the work to reconstruct why I was being called a paedophile, and why that woman in the airport wanted to kill me with the trolley. I’m not offering a new theory of gender here; I’m tracking this phantasm’s formation and circulation and how it’s linked to emerging authoritarianism, how it stokes fear to expand state powers. Luckily, I was able to contact a lot of people who translated Gender Trouble in different parts of the world, who were often gender activists and scholars in their own right. They told me about what’s happening in Serbia, what’s happening in Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Russia. So I became a student of gender again. I’ve been out of the field for a while. I stay relatively literate, of course, but I’ve written on war, on ethics, on violence, on nonviolence, on the pandemic… I’m not in gender studies all the time. I had to do a lot of reading.  There’s a lot of focus in the book on how the anti-gender movement has moved across the world in the past few decades, and how it’s inextricable from Catholic doctrine. It was clarifying for me; domestic anti-trans movements in the UK mostly self-identify as secular.  Judith Butler: In the UK, and even in the US, people don’t realise that this anti-gender ideology movement has been going on for some time in the Americas, in central Europe, to a certain degree in Africa, and that it’s arrived in the US by different routes, but it’s arrived without announcing its history. It became clear to me that a lot of the trans-exclusionary feminists didn’t realise where their discourse was coming from. Some of them do; some people who call themselves feminists are aligned with right-wing positions, and it’s confusing, but there it is. There’s an uncomfortable history of fascist feminism in movements like British suffragism, for instance. Judith Butler: Yes, and of racism. But when Putin made clear that he agreed with JK Rowling, she was probably surprised, and she rightly said, ‘no, I don’t want your alliance’, but it was an occasion for her to think about who she’s allying herself with, unwittingly or not. The anti-gender movement was first and foremost a defence of Biblical scripture, and of the idea that God created man and woman, and that the human form exists only in this duality and that without it, the human is destroyed – God’s creation is destroyed. So that morphed, as the Vatican’s doctrine moved into Latin America, into the idea that people who advocate ‘gender’ are forces of destruction who seek to destroy man, woman, the human, civilisation and culture.

I hate correcting customers who call me ma'am and miss and honey over the phone, because only about 30 percent of the time do they apologize and start calling me sir, while 70 percent of the time they double down assuming I was trans and continue misgendering me on purpose to show how little respect they have for me as a human being. "Thank you, MISS."
I'm a cis man, for the record.
Whenever I correct someone and they keep it up, I simply refuse service. "Oh, I'm sorry, we're completeley booked up the day you wanted. Yeah, no, we're booked up on your backup dates too. Looks like our next opening isn't until, hmm, mid-November. Oh, but it doesn't have enough beds for your party. We could probably fit you in around New Years, but you'd have to change rooms every day. You might wanna try [more expensive motel] a few blocks north of us, they might have vacancies. Have a good day."
I've been able to dodge what few complaints we've gotten so far because they all tell my boss that they just spoke to a very nasty woman, and she has no idea who they're talking about. "You must have dialed the wrong number, because I'm the only woman here, and I didn't talk to you." That PISSES THEM OFF, and she doesn't understand why they respond with "well we've been staying there for years, but we're never coming back." They think she's protecting me, an afab trans man, and are disgusted by it, but from her perspective they're just crazy people who are complaining about made up bullshit; it doesn't even cross her mind that they're talking about me. Why would it?
My boss is like 70 or 75, and was a Republican until 2016. It's never come up in conversation, but something tells me she wouldn't exactly be a trans ally. I'm in a weird position here, and it's hilarious.

In a joint statement on Thursday, the two sponsors of the conference, the American Anthropological Association and the Canadian Anthropology Society, said that they wanted to protect the transgender community: “The session was rejected because it relied on assumptions that run contrary to the settled science in our discipline, framed in ways that do harm to vulnerable members of our community.”
The statement also compared the panelists’ views to eugenics.
“The function of the ‘gender critical’ scholarship advocated in this session, like the function of the ‘race science’ of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, is to advance a ‘scientific’ reason to question the humanity of already marginalized groups of people,” the statement said.
Finally, the quiet part out loud. Bravo. TERFs have no place.
Editing to include a less transphobic article, as NYT sucks. 10/3

Okay, I'm not saying that people who call themselves "AFAB Trans fems" are TERFs, but only a few years ago I remember a common thing I saw on some TERF blogs I was blocking talking about how they should start using the term "AFAB Trans women" for the explicit purpose of muddying the waters on discussions of issues that actual effect Trans women. To actively spread misinformation and derail discussions on transmisogyny.
These same blogs also for years would self describe themselves as "dysphoric females" where they would claim that they previously thought they were Transmasc but actually were just trying to escape societal misogyny (an old narrative that they've used often to try to mudding the waters around Trans men).
Honestly, it's feels more like trying to combine a tactic of false detransition narratives that invalidate Trans men while also completely obscuring discussions of Trans women's issues by filling the forum of discussion of those issues with misleading bullshit.
Again I'm not saying that's precisely what's happening here, but most of these AFAB transfem blogs seem to describe a situation where they started calling themselves transmasc for a short period, did nothing in terms of transitioning, social or medical, then went back to identifying as a girl.

i have your old pictures, david. from before you became delusional. you have one month to delete your tumblr blog or i will be sharing them with the ENTIRE world.
ok so before you go further down your obsession with harassing me here a few things since you appear to be completely incapable of looking into your harassment targets whatsoever:
you can stop asking me to "post a photo if you are brave enough", the first link in my pinned post is my wikipedia with a photo of me, and basically all the info about me ever, i regularly post selfies on all social media sites im active on
you did not "clock me" i am a well known, publicly out trans girl, i crop slurs out of the asks you send me because i see no reason to share your pathetic hatred with my audience
it takes like 2 minutes of research to find my actual deadname, and david sure aint it
you clearly dont have my old pictures but even if you did i have no reason to care, i have posted pre transition pics myself regularly
sorry but i unfortunately wont be deleting my tumblr blog due to not giving a shit about you
half your asks are you being mad at me for not giving you attention, have you tried making friends?
i will now be blocking you and continue to live a happy cheerful live while you get mad at me and become sadder and sadder from this path you have chosen to go down
i am only sharing this because you are less than just pathetic and it is fun to clown on your terfshittery

TERFs do not treat trans women/people they view as trans women as men. Y’all really need to get that bullshit out of your head. They’re a hate group specifically focused on demonizing and eradicating trans women and they’re literally allying with cis men to do it. Transmisogyny, specifically their brand, is not born out of a hatred of men and y’all will get nowhere as long as you pretend it is.
They’re bigots hyperfocused on enforcing gender laws based in white supremacist ideals, stop taking their word as truth.
