My co-dev and I have been working for three years on this game...and it's finally FINISHED. It's called Terranova, and it's a game about 2000's fandom nostalgia and queer girls on the internet.
It has...
A nostalgic interface that transports you to a time before Twitter
A full ten hours of story, complete with romance, drama and plot twists galore
A LimeJournal for you to blog about your life
Fully functional IM to chat your friends and Solitaire to waste time while you chat your friends
Your choices matter; three unique endings based on your choices
Roleplay. Lots and lots of roleplay.
If you like any of the above, come check it out!
Terranova is available on itch.io and Steam.
We're only two devs and don't have the marketing budget of a triple-A game.
Please reblog and share. 💚

A poster from our friends over at TerrANova Industries for their brand new show, Project Earth. The poster features our beloved protagonist, Gregg Sellars, falling head-first through the multiverse, embarking on an epic adventure he was not prepared for.

So, I've been following a small little indie ARG/webseries(?) called Project Earth/Terranova Industries and I just! Really want to share it! It's pretty new - there are three videos and one short on the youtube channel, and three comics on the website (though one is currently hidden and takes some finding to locate.) The idea of it is that this company has discovered how to view (or access?) multiverses, and instead of using it in any beneficial way... they've used it to make a reality tv show essentially, documenting a man's alternate lives.
Tumblr media
Gregg Sellars is our pleasantly boring and regular protagonist, eager to see what he could have been had he made different choices in his life. It's less out of regret than more out of fun! He seems perfectly happy with his marriage and his kid and his job, and just thinks its neat to see the potentials he unknowingly had.
Tumblr media
Tom Wilson is his best friend who has shown up in two of the three videos so far, as each alternate universe features him too. He absolutely would divorce his wife to marry an alien in a heartbeat. That's the sort of man he is. Also, yes, some hidden text in captions (only during silence moments as otherwise the captions are entirely in line with the dialogue, so accessibility isn't trashed in pursuit of hiding codes and clues).
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like TerrANova's experiments with timelines are entirely contained. So far we've gotten at least two references that wildlife in the area the company is located in has been going missing.
Tumblr media
And a man named Jerry seems to be trying to contact us and possibly reveal the truth behind the company?
Tumblr media
Regarding the comics on the website, they seem to be created by Berry (who may be one of the aforementioned individuals held captive within the company), who is forced to create a whole ass comic every 24 hours or face an unknown punishment.
Tumblr media
However, as he continues writing, the characters in his comic become self aware of their fictional nature, and begin rebelling against his control.
Since we're still so early in, we're not sure where the story is going yet entirely, but I'm really into it and not many people know about it. So!! I decided I wanted to share it with this very long image filled post I'm so sorry. If you're interested, please check out the TerrANova website, which is the main hub for the arg/webseries. It has links to the discord, to the youtube channel, the twitter, so on. It even has a phone number that you can call that people in the discord says works (i haven't called because i don't use phones checkmate technology), though we're not sure yet if there's anything we're supposed to be doing with it. Maybe??? ok that's enough thank you for tolerating my niche interests goodbye

March 29th 1912 is the estimated death of Explorer Henry ‘Birdie’ Robertson Bowers.
Bowers was born on 29th July 1883 in Greenock.
After his father, a naval captain, died in Rangoon, his mother raised him from the age of three with his two older sisters. The family moved to Streatham, London when Henry was around 13, he joined the merchant navy on leaving school and by the time he was 21 had sailed around the world four times on a cargo ship, The  Loch Torridon which became famous as one of the  most perfect four-masted barques ever built.
“Birdie” went on to join the Royal Indian Marine Service in 1905 and as sub lieutenant saw service in Ceylon and Burma then   commanded a river gunboat on the Irrawaddy. He later served on HMS Fox, preventing gun-running in the Persian Gulf.
In 1908 Bowers joined Captain Robert Falcon Scott’s Terra Nova expedition after reading about Scott’s earlier expeditions including his journey on The Discovery.  Although he was only meant to be a member of the ship’s crew Scott was so impressed with Bowers he made him a member of the shore team.
When the party made it to the South Pole it was Bowers who found the flag  Amundsen had planted and the tent the Norwegian explorer had used as camp when they beat the British team there 35 days previously, Bowers was the navigator in the team and is said to have taken most of the photos and it was he who fixed the exact location of the geographic South Pole for the Polar party. On there way back from the Pole probably one of the most famous events in exploration occurred when Captain Lawrence Oates, who had been slowing the party down after  his foot became frostbitten and gangrenous, spoke the words “I am just going outside, I may be some time”. It was a courageous decision by Oates to let the team go on without him and stand a better chance of getting back safely.
By now they had already lost one crew member after a fall in mid February, Captain Scott, Bowers and Dr. Edward “Bill” Wilson ploughed on for three more days covering 20 miles, a blizzard halted them on March 20th, forcing them to stop, the snow storm lasted for days longer than expected and the trio, exhausted, cold and hungry, some 11 miles short of their next food depot could not continue. Scott’s last diary entry read….
“March 29th, 1912
Since the 21st we have had a continuous gale from W.S.W. and S.W. We had fuel to make two cups of tea apiece and bare food for two days on the 20th. Every day we have been ready to start for our depot 11 miles away, but outside the door of the tent it remains a scene of whirling drift. I do not think we can hope for any better things now. We shall stick it out to the end, but we are getting weaker, of course, and the end cannot be far.
It seems a pity, but I do not think I can write more.
R. SCOTT.
For God’s sake look after our people.”
On or after this the three men perished, they were found by a search party the following spring on 12 November 1912. The search party collapsed the tent over them, thus burying them where they lay under a snow cairn topped by a cross made from a pair of skis. Among the items they found and took back with them were the Kodak film rolls with the photographs at the South Pole and geological specimens which later proved the Gondwana theory.

In preparation for Bitsummit, dear friends, @mabbees and I have been screenprinting Terranova stuff for purchase/giveaways.
The USB stick will be 2000 yen, and includes a Steam Key, the Windows/Mac/Linux version of Terranova, and all the wallpapers used in-game. The postcards are free to folks who wishlist Terranova.
It still doesn't feel real, participating in a big indie game summit like this. It was only two years ago that our beta was part of the 2021 Queer Games Bundle. I can't thank Taylor enough for reaching out to me on Twitter.
Without QGB, I don't know if Terranova would be in the libraries of many folks today.
Thank you, and to the hardworking folks at @queergamesbundle.

I'm bombing bastards
Forever after us
Carrying an equation
It's like I'm Asian
You heard fantastic
We cross the Atlantic
They say I'm not normal-a
I'm the kid with the formula
It must be my mind reign
I'll make your back break
And your knees bend
Your sucking me friend
What do we do?
We do the voodoo
I send the energy
To a enemy
And fucking Ronald Reagan
It's 'cause I'm Pagan
Is that you, boy?
I see your decoy
Enter the arena
I'm full of schizophrenia
I lop 'em in a minute
And do the schizophrantic
Stop them poses
'Cause this is what a flow is
Stop them poses
'Cause this is what a flow is
I'm bombing bastards
Forever after us
Carrying an equation
It's like I'm Asian
You heard fantastic
We cross the Atlantic
They say I'm not normal-a
I'm the kid with the formula
It must be my mind reign
I'll make your back break
And your knees bend
Your sucking me friend

"Locked Below," my first ever comic that takes readers on a journey through the mind of a young man called Berry. Trapped in a small, windowless room with no doors. Forced to write the same story every 24 hours. The only glimmer of hope comes from the red phone mounted on the nearby wall, his only means of communicating with the outside world. That is until his characters figure out they're living the same day over and over, and attempt to break the loop. Follow the adventure as Berry has 24 hours to get his story back on track...
