Smurfs: What An Unsmurfy Night (story)
----
Summary: After watching the spooky play, Clumsy, Lazy, and Scaredy decide to sleep at Penciller's place tonight.
Note: A 'Smurfs' remake of 1935 Terrytoons short, "What A Night".
The Smurfs are property of Peyo/IMPS/Lafig Belgium S.A.
----
Penciller Smurf, the talented sketch artist of the Smurf Village, had always been a skeptic when it came to scary stories. He believed that everything could be explained with a logical explanation and that there was no such thing as ghosts or monsters.
One night, the Smurfs had decided to put on a play for their village. It was a spooky play, filled with ghosts, witches, and all sorts of frightening creatures. Penciller, being the curious Smurf that he was, decided to watch the play with his friends Clumsy, Lazy, and Scaredy.
As they watched the play, Penciller couldn't help but laugh at the supposed scary elements. But as the night went on, he started to feel a chill run down his spine. He brushed it off, thinking it was just the cold night air.
After the play, as they were walking back to their mushroom houses, Clumsy, Lazy, and Scaredy couldn't stop talking about how scary the play was. Penciller, on the other hand, just rolled his eyes and dismissed it as a mere act.
But as they were about to go to bed, Clumsy, Lazy, and Scaredy decided to keep Penciller company. They were all too scared to sleep alone after watching the spooky play. Penciller, feeling annoyed, tried to convince them that there was nothing to be afraid of. But the three Smurfs were persistent and refused to leave.
As they all settled into Penciller's bed, they fell into a deep sleep. However, in the middle of the night, they were all woken up by a loud noise. Penciller, being the bravest of them all, decided to investigate. But as he opened the door, he was met with a terrifying sight.
Ghosts, witches, and monsters were all roaming around the village, wreaking havoc. Penciller, Clumsy, Lazy, and Scaredy were all frozen in fear, unable to move. They were trapped in a nightmare.
The nightmare felt like hours, but finally, morning came, and they all woke up in a cold sweat. Penciller was relieved that it was all just a dream. But to his surprise, Clumsy, Lazy, and Scaredy were also relieved, which meant they had all shared the same nightmare.
They all laughed at their silly fears and promised never to watch anything scary at night again. From that day on, Penciller, Clumsy, Lazy, and Scaredy became closer friends, and Penciller learned that sometimes it's okay to believe in scary stories, as long as you have friends by your side.
