Equal asshole opportunity Vlad

He continues to claim he’s an amazing teacher while allowing his students to do whatever. Kendo smacks those she feels are being rowdy, Monoma is loud and keeps saying wtf stuff as 1A, Tetsutetsu is ignoring the rules to be manly, but Vlad keeps going on about how great of a teacher he is. He won't stop even with evidence showing he's fucked up a lot of the time is given to him. As far as he's concerned everything is fine, no reason to worry.

He's still better then Eraserhead. He has a full class of students and none break bones all the time (nevermind Bakugou in this AU got expelled after the sports festival for attacking an opponent after the match and Mineta was expelled for harassment. Never mind Midoriya is a late bloomer.)

Vlad is just so damn confident he's the best because Aizawa has had issues in the past with the school board while Vlad never has. He's always had full classes graduate to be heroes (nevermind most never move past sidekick or they get in a lot of trouble the first few years because Vlad encourages unhealthy forms of competition and training. Nevermind Aizawa has recently been forced to go to therapy and has slowly changed from the heavily depressed and exhausted man he was after his husband nearly left and he nearly lost his job). His kids better show 1A they're better. They are, and they're going to train like they are even if they fall over.

It comes crashing down in this AU for Vlad when one of his students has enough of the encouragement of the competition and the hellish training, and goes to Nezu to complain. Nezu is surprised and looks into it, having trusted Vlad to do the same ‘medium well job’ as Nezu would term it. He's been trying to entice a friend to work at UA but they're busy and need more bribes.

Nezu puts Vlad on probation as does he strip the class rep title from Kendo and shove Monoma into therapy along with Testutetsu. Later Vlad is fired as Nezu’s friend steps in to take over.

Vlad always wonders why.

When Tetsutetsu says that he needs to eat iron for his Quirk, do you think he is talking about eating more iron rich foods or actually eating the metal?

Could Testutetsu turn into different metals if he ate them, like eating copper he could turn into copper?

I believe that it is referring to the iron found in food and not the literal metal. While he does say that he needs more iron for his Quirk, which is vague enough it could refer to the ore, I think it having be iron in food makes more sense given how other Quirks work, like how "Engine" uses juice as fuel. And while I think Quirks grant certain protects to facilitate their usage, eating metal seems pretty out there in comparison. So, unfortunately, I don't think that Tetsutetsu is having a bowl of nails without any milk every morning to build up his Quirk.

Ahh TetsuTestu my beloved! God I love him; I've gotcha covered, anon!

“It’s like you're asking for it for this,” TetsuTetsu grinned cheekily down at the squealing blonde in his lap. “It’s kinda cute.”

He and Monoma were hanging out after class, originally meeting for a study date that quickly turned into a regular date which ultimately led to Monoma cuddling up on his boyfriend’s lap while shamelessly poking fun at the steel hero.

Which ultimately led to TetsuTetsu poking back- just in a more literal sense.

“Iihihihiihiiihihihm nhoohohohoohohohohot cuuhuhuhuhuhuhuhte!” Monoma tried to sound irritated, but any semblance of it was lost in his squeals of laughter. “Teheheehehhehehehhetsuuhuuhuhuuhuhuhu!”

“Hm? What is it, copycat?” He asked sweetly, letting one hand travel to the blonde’s ribs while the other carried on clawing at his belly.

“Dohoohohohoohohohon’t!”

“Don’t what?”

“Tihihihiihihihickle mehhehehhehe!” Monoma arched with a yelp when TestuTetsu squeezed gently along his neck. “Nohohoohohoho thahahhahahat’s noohohohoohot whahahhahahat I mehahahahhahhahan’t!”

“Aww? You want me to tickle you? Hm?” TetsuTetsu grinned cheekily as Monoma flailed and flopped about in his lap, cackles and shrieks of mirth sounding like a melody to his ears. “Well okay! Who am I to deny my king what he wants?”

“Yoohohoohoohhohou suhuhuhuuhuhuhuhuhck!” Monoma cried, cheeks tinted a warm shade of red and eyes squeezed shut with mirth. “Ihiihihihiiihihihi hahahhahahhate thihihihiiihihiis!”

“Do you, now?” TetsuTetsu cooed. “Is that why even though I’m not holding you in place you haven’t rolled away? Or even tried to copy my ability?” He puffed up in pride at the deep flush coloring Monoma’s neck and cheeks. “Am I wrong?”

Sometimes he forgot just how observant TetsuTetsu could be.

“Shuhuhuhuhuhuuhuhuhsh! Aheahhahahahhaha! Ohohohoohay, ohohoohkay yohoohohohu wihiihhiihn!” Monoma tapped the other’s leg repeatedly, breathing deeply as TetsuTetsu pulled back his hands. “Aehehehe…hehehe…ohohohakay…mahahybe I doohoohohn’t hate it…” Closing his eyes, he let himself melt against the other, smiling softly when fingers combed through his hair. “I’ll get you back, you know that right?”

“We’ll see.” TetsuTetsu leaned down and kissed his forehead.

Manga With Me: MHA Pocket Theories

The Good Doctor

Am I reading like a mad hound so I can stop getting spoiled on twitter, tiktok, tumblr and instagram? Yes. Am I about to drop hella theories in one post because I'm behind in typing up my unsolicited analyses? Also yes. Will I later regret doing this when I eventually catch up to the manga and am proven wrong? Most certainly.

⚠️ Not even sure where to put the spoiler warning to so we're just going on vibes. Let's say spoilers through chapter 221.

Starting with most obvious to least plausible, without further ado..

✅ Origin: Daruma Ujiko is the same doctor who told Deku he was quirkless.

What if he used his position as a doctor to 1) spread misinformation about the toe-joint/quirkless relation when there isn't one, 2) to recruit unknowing specimen for Nomu experimentation (as it was hinted that, when the winged Nomu tried to kidnap Deku during the Stain arc, it was compared to one of Bakugo's old lackeys), 3) to pick quirks ripe for stealing. Did Deku have a quirk all along until ole Ujiko got through with him? He'd be in the perfect position to do all three. AOT Sidenote: It kind of reminds me of how integral the doctor in Marley was to getting the Owl in place.

✅ Pseudonym: The doctor's false name is a play on words like some of the other characters thus far.

We know that the mangaka incorporates some jokes in the names of some characters, my favorite being Testutetsu Tetsutetsu's. With that in mind, the doctor's choice to use Daruma puts me in the mind of those dolls that grant wishes. I don't know why I remember them in relation to Ranma 1/2, not sure if it was in the anime or manga but basically, a Daruma doll is said to help you achieve your goals in addition to being talismans of good luck, generally. Physically, Ujiko's similarities to the dolls or Bodhidharma, the Buddhist monk the dolls are modeled after, are limited but, in particular, I found his appearance below to be very striking:

In practice, you typically purchase a Daruma Doll with blank white eyes. Upon setting a goal for the year, you color one of the eyes making a pact with the deity within the doll to grant them full vision once your wish is granted in return. During this particular scene, Ujiko is negotiating with Shigiraki how to plot forward to achieve his ultimate goal. In addition to that, Ujiko is a staunch supporter of AFO who is known to play the long game. Maybe Ujiko represents luck and perseverance for him too. Though, with AFO in a better place to "impart blessings" with his quirk, his connections and his assumed wealth or outstanding debts he could call upon to collect at any time, I wonder what Ujiko gets in return. Additionally, as Nomu are products of Ujiko and AFO's experimentation, I find it funny that he chose a pseudonym likened to a doll. As we saw with the first Nomu captured from USJ, we see that it is largely without action unless issued a command from Shigiraki or someone they are programmed to obey like Dabi. Stripped of their humanity and autonomy, Nomu are arguably pretty doll-like as well. In this way, Ujiko is the great puppeteer.

❓ Experimentation: I don't think the hands on Shigiraki are that of his family's.

FIRST OF ALL. Them hands too damn big to be Hana's. Also, I don't know why I recall Shigiraki questioning why there was an extra pair of hands that AFO just kind of explained away though he should have Mother, Father, Grandmother, Grandfather, Hana's and I guess the two punks he exacted revenge on. On the one hand 🥁 , these act as conduits for his rage and frustration and I'm wondering if the good doctor has done something else to these hands to ensure that Shigiraki is constantly agitated. Additionally, the way that Ujiko asks how they are doing in particular makes me wonder if they are similar to vestiges in OFA. Like do the memories/consciousness of the people he killed live inside him as well?

What do you think, how far off base am I? I will hopefully be closing the gap this week so I'm looking forward to finding out incorrect I am with some of this.

oof I drew this months ago but just now remembered to post it whoops. Here are my next gen teenager OC’s!

From left to right: Iida Tenri (Iichako kid) Kirishima Eimi (Kiribaku kid) Tetsutetsu Tetora (Tetsukendo kid) and Kaminari Kirari (Shinkami kid) 

Character dynamics will be under the cut!

Kirari, Tenri, and Eimi: These three girls have been close friends since they were little kids. With Kirari being one year older than Tenri and Eimi, she’s seen as the “big sister” of the group. Eimi is passionate and thinks with her heart while Tenri is logical and looks to facts for solutions, so Kirari tries her best to find the middle ground between the two. But because she can’t help herself, Kirari also tends to rope her besties into her troublesome pranks (especially aimed at her parents) Conversations between them last way too long and not a single hour of sleep will ever be slept at their sleepovers. 

Eimi and Tetora: Due to the brotherly connection between Kirishima and Testutetsu, Eimi and Tetora are basically cousins. Tetora is quite shy, so being around the boisterous Eimi can sometimes be overwhelming for him. Eimi tries to rope him into her obsessions of vampires and brooding anime characters, to which he will politely follow along, knowing he won’t have much of a choice anyways. Being the romantic she is, Eimi does everything in her power to be the best wingman possible for him. Despite Tetora’s inability to relate to Eimi, he is grateful to have her as his friend and wouldn’t change her for the world. 

Kirari and Tetora: Tetora knew about Kirari from his cousin’s close relationship with her, but he wasn’t formally introduced to her until they were put in the same class their first year of high school. Tetora’s quirk is “Iron Fist”, so his hands can harden into steel. He always gets comments on how he’d be a great fighter, but he’s actually quite passive, and wants nothing to do with fighting. When sharing off their quirks on the first day of class, Kirari told Tetora that his quirk would be “great for kneading the shit outta some dough.” It was the first non-fighting related comment he’d ever been told about his quirk. At this, he immediately fell in love. Kirari’s feeling for Tetora started off platonic, but overtime, she found his gentle nature to be reassuring, and she wanted to spend more and more time with him (though she’s still more subtle about her feelings than he is) Besides, she always found him to be kinda cute...

Eimi and Tenri: Though they’re usually in their classic trio, Eimi and Tenri have spent plenty of time with just the two of them. Being in the same class, they spend all their school time together. Most of that time is spent getting into heated debates over which select love triangle romance options are compatible for the heroine of whatever media obsession Eimi has to bring to the table. Since they tend to approach their outlooks from completely different sides, these debates hardly ever get solved without a third party opinion. However, Tenri often lends a hand to Eimi for emotional support. Whenever Eimi gets discouraged by an unsuccessful romantic endeavor, she always offers to take the place of her date, saying “you can do all those things with a friend too!” Because of this, Eimi can always depend on Tenri, and always goes to her first for anything.

Tetsutetsu’s POC S/o Visits and No One Was Ready:

Tetsutetsu almost always brought up his “girlfriend” any free chance he got to think about her. Of course, as the school year continued on, his talk and stories about her had slowly began to chill, only having the occasional mention, so no one was really too concerned. It was the usual story: She lived overseas and couldn’t really visit or video chat with how busy she got back at home.  At first, everyone had their own doubts about the claim, their own disputes or beliefs as to just who or what Tetsutetsu really had going on. He’d share pictures when, but there were very few and they were far in-between (with an excuse of him having way more and way better ones on his hold phone he threw out before school even began. Kendou managed to get them to chill with all of the teasing eventually however and, slowly, any fuss of Tetsutetsu’s lady friend slowed significantly once his own stories on her lowered. 

“She plans on coming down pretty soon and I just can’t wait for you all to meet her this time around! Kirishima practically loves her to pieces-” That is, until he began excitedly talking about her coming to visit for the weekend. The excited grin on his face was enough to deter anyone from ruining his mood. Questions to Kirishima were dismissed with his own wide shark tooth grin as Tetsutetsu continued on, “She’s pretty excited to come to U.A. and meet you all too! I really need to go get everything ready”

All of them could only watch as the two happily bounced their way to Tetsutetsu’s dorm before they all let out their own exasperated groans.

“I thought Tetsutetsu was done talking about his fake girlfriend for the year” Asawe pipes up first, laying his head against the back of one of the dorm’s couches. He sighs out, Kodai coming up and giving his back a reassuring rub. Kaibara lays his head back next to Awase’s, staring up at the ceiling.

“We can’t just assume this girl is fake without exactly meeting her yet. Let’s at least wait until she shows up-” Kendou responds with a bit of a worried smile, her blue eyes taking a quick glance at the doors before returning her gaze to the others, “We didn’t expect Pony to be in our class, much less an American foreign exchange student, so maybe there’s a chance that this girl is actually a real person-”

“Nonsense!” No one was really sure when Monoma walked into the room, but they all knew exactly where this was going once that bastard gave that smug grin he loved to use so much. His hands were uncharacteristically stuffed in his pockets, but the shade of his bangs and the glint in his eyes were still there as he began to monologue on just why the girl wasn’t going to show up, “We would’ve seen this mystery girl by now. Quite frankly, I’m surprised he’s kept his front up for so long and it’s all going to unravel this coming weekend”

“Here we go again” Tokage sighs out, falling into the dorm’s armchair to better deal with the oncoming headache.

“Watch what I say, he’ll have to come forward this time after she doesn’t show up for a few days” Monoma states matter-of-factly, one of his hands now resting under his chin in a pointed stature. Some dramatic wind takes a quick blow at his hair and the surrounding room has significantly darkened, aside from the spotlight shining over his statue.

“H-How is he doing that?” Shishida asks in bewilderment, all of his hair standing on end along with the other class as they stare at him. All except for Kendou, whose fist comes down over his head and knocks all of the extra effects off. A small, disgruntled groan leaves Monoma’s lips as his hand immediately moves to ease and soothe the growing bruise.

A few days go by and there’s still no sign of Tetsutetsu’s girlfriend. When asked if the two have talked, he keeps the excuses of her being on her flight or her being busy getting settled in. He sticks to it and people’s beliefs dwindle into doubt by day 3.

It’s a late Saturday night and most of the class is gathered in the common room, some just coming back from going out earlier and others just loitering as they search for something to do. They do gather around the T.V. for a few rounds of games, Tsuburaba, Rin, and Honenuki taking the first round of Mario kart while everyone else placed there seats on who went next.

“Where’s Tetsutetsu? He loves a good Nintendo competition” Komori asks, Kodai and Tokage shrugging their shoulders beside her.

“He went out earlier, but he didn’t say why. Guess he’s still out” Kendou responds in thought, leaning back as she tries to think out just where he could have possibly gone. 

Everyone sits in silence for a moment before they begin going back to their task, only for the doors of their building to open. They all turn unanimously to take a peak, a drenched Tetsutetsu entering into the building with his jacket covering another body. There’s a small smile on his face as he lowers it, his fingers slightly lifting the other’s chin to help her look up and straighten a little, “There we are. That’s a little better, right?”

“Yeah. Thanks,” Smiling back at him is a girl slightly smaller than him. Her tone was significantly darker than his, a beautiful dark brown, and her face was breathtaking. Her lips were plump, her cheeks a different tone of rosy than they were used to with small hints of darker traces of brown along indents in her face, and her hips were a bit wider than average. All of her was breathtaking, really, “Sorry that you had to come pick me up from the station. I still haven’t quite figured out the train schedule and I was used to just walking down the street to get things from the station. I didn’t really expect it to rain either-”

“No, no. It’s fine, really! I’m just glad you’re finally here” He pulls her close, ignore their wet clothes as he nuzzles her against him. She giggles at the taller boy’s insistence, succumbing to his affection as soon as she realized she wouldn’t be going anywhere if she didn’t return it. The rest of the class, however, were all still beyond dumbfounded at the sudden revelation that Tetsutetsu’s American girlfriend did, indeed, exist and she was fucking beautiful.

She perks up once she finally takes notice to all of their staring, giving Tetsutetsu a couple of shoulder pokes before signaling towards his class in question. He also perks up at the prodding, turning to them before nervously smiling due to him completely forgetting all about them in the midst of the excitement, “Ah, right! This is my girlfriend, (Y/n) (L/n)! She’s been holed up at one of the police stations in Hosu for the past few days-”

“Some low-life took one of my bags after I left the airport, so I was stuck at the police station while they worked to find all of my stuff”

“So I went and got her to help her get settled in to her hotel near here!” He proudly wraps an arm around her waist, laying his cheek on the top of her head as everyone watches. 

Kaibara’s one of the first to turn away, nodding as he gets back to the game, “That’s cool and all, but did you get the milk like you were supposed to?”

Best and Brightest

Since I am a major sucker for theoretic stuff, let’s try and figure out what would be the best class possible given the current Year 1 hero students. For this, I will be using Class 1-A as a basis. Both because of how familiar we are with them, as well as how they operate, and because they seem to have overall stronger students. I will also try to have it so it’s make up the class as a whole like they were a team, otherwise it would just be a lot of heavy hitters.

Aoyama swapped for Manga: Class 1-A is mostly filled with Quirks that do a lot of damage, so I felt it was appropriate to swap out some of the weaker one to help diversify. While Aoyoma does have the advantage in the long range, when he actually hits anything, Manga can cover a similar ground while having a lot more options overall with his Quirk.

Mina: While Mina seem to fall under the “do damaging” umbrella I talked about earlier, I think that her and her abilities are a lot more versatile then people give credit for, especially with how she can control her acid. Plus she is good for morale which is always a bonus.

Tsuyu: An overall solid Quirk that gives the class a few more options and, as little as it may come up, the only student that can be effective in underwater. The only real issue is that she is a very jack of all trades character, making it hard to see her really excel at any one hero role.

Iida: Again, Iida kind of falls in the category of heavy hitter, but what ultimately distinguishes himself is that he has a lot of mobility and is more based around movement rather then just blasting people, which I do think would be help both in a fight and just getting around in general. On top of that, his keen intellect would bring in some more brains to the table which would always be helpful.

Ochako: While it isn’t talked about that much in story, Uraraka’s Quirk is amazingly useful. She excellent in a supportive role, able to remove obstacles or put allies in advantageous positions. That there is some potential for some serious damage if she uses her Quirk right, making it so Uraraka covers plenty of bases.

Ojiro swapped with Shoda: Ojiro is a bit more unique then his classmate with his mix of agility and offense, I just think Shoda can offer a similar package while still bringing something more to the table. Not only can he hit really hard, but he can trap his impacts in objects and get himself around by increasing his kinetic force.

Denki swapped for Juzo: While Denki can use his Quirk in an AOE, Juzo can use an ability in an AOE while having less risk to his allies and himself. That and he would be useful in rescue with his ability to remove debris and other hazards. The most we would really lose is Denki’s ability to charge electronics.

Kirishima: While Kirishima may seem kind of lackluster in most departments, both in his abilities outside his and how limited his Quirk is, I felt that he had some merit. Besides his natural strength and the very high power ceiling of his Quirk, Kirishima is one of the very few students that actually has any kind of serious defensive option, making him good for rescue and taking damage.

Koda: While it may seem surprising that Koda stays, I think he is really helpful. He has access to a vast amount of knowledge and intel that most people would not being able to get normally, making him great for information gathering and rescue.

Sato swapped for Yui: Since Shoda and Izuku would cover the physical damage for the group, I decided the group could have used a little more support and swapped out Shoda for Yui. Honestly, “Size” is such an amazing ability that the amount of stuff you can do with it is frankly staggering.

Shoji and Jiro: I’m only putting these two together because they offer very similar benefits, just with slight variations on what they are good at. They both offer some very good ways of gathering intelligence and can do it at a very long range, with Shoji being more generalist and Jiro focus on sound. Plus they both have solid options to defend themselves if push into a corner, with Shoji’s amazing strength and Jiro’s vibrations.

Sero swapped for Ibara: “Vines” is basically just “Tape”, but mostly better because of the amount of control Ibara has with her Quirk and the kind of range she can effect people. While Sero does seemingly have a better amount of mobility with his Quirk and can offer up some unique plans with it’s stickiness, I just think that those benefits don’t outweigh what Ibara is capable of.

Tokoyami: While Tokoyami himself doesn’t bring much to the table, I think “Dark Shadow” is enough on it’s own to let him into the class given it’s potential, both in it’s use and in it’s growth.

Todoroki: How could he not be on here?

Hagakure swapped for Setsuna: While Hagakure excels at stealth, I think that Setsuna would have the overall same application of her ability while still having other traits to bring to the table like her leadership abilities.

Bakugou: While I was tempted to leave Bakugou off the list, even with all his development he still has a tough time playing nice with others and his aggressive nature has been shown to leave him in a bind, I cannot deny the amount of talent and power he offers.

Izuku: I mean it kind of goes without saying that he would be here. 

Mineta swapped for Komori: Not only can Komori cover people in mushrooms to slow them down, she can do it much faster and at a much longer range then Mineta would be able to do. Yes, Mineta has some mobility and is a little more effective at keeping people from moving, but I think that the amount and the type of mushrooms Komori can push out is what makes her the better option.

Momo: Probably the smartest person between her two classes, along with having a stellar Quirk that can be useful no matter the situation or what role Yaoyorozu find herself in.

For a bit of extra fun, lets put them into teams:

Overall Leaders: Momo, Izuku Offense: Iida, Tokoyami, Shoda. Lead by Bakugou Defense: Kirishima, Ibara, Komori. Lead by Todoroki Scouting: Shoji, Koda, Jiro, Tsuyu. Lead by Setsuna Support: Yui, Ochako, Mina, Manga. Lead by Juzo

Now to explain why other characters didn’t make the cut.

-Monoma: I was a close call between him and Yui, but I ultimately decided against putting him in the group. While intelligent, I felt as though he would be rather redundant with characters Momo and the others around. And his “Copy” can offer up some unique support, and I felt that his personality would be rather difficult to deal with since he tends put people on edge just by talking. Plus we can’t give up on the running gag of him hating Class 1-A.

-Kendo: While she is intelligent and knows her way around a fight, I felt like she was not all that necessary. The class is well enough in terms of physical fighters with Izuku, Iida and Shoda, and more then well enough with those who are more suited to be leaders like Izuku, Momo, Juzo, and Tokage. She just didn’t really bring enough unique to the table to make her feel like she was warranted.

-Tetsutetsu Testutetsu: While I did consider him, especially with how the group is really lacking in defensive users, I felt that a majority of what he could do overlapped too much with what Kirishima could do.

-Hitoshi: Not even considered as he is not official part of either class yet.

Omega Bakugou: burnt sugar

Alpha Kirishima: wet forest floor

Omega Dabi: mint

Alpha Todoroki: peppermint

Omega Midoriya: cherries (this ones on the fly as I have him in my notes as a Beta)
