#texas chainsaw massacre 2022
Note
I'd like to have sex with Leatherface every night, it doesn't matter if his mom (from TCM 2022) ends up listening to us. I'd use straps and handcuffs on that big guy. 😍 😈 👉👈

Can you believe the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre film is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year? Mental, right? 🤯
What is your favourite film from the TCM franchise? And don’t forget, there is also the TMC Netflix film that came out in 2022!

Watched the Netflix version of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It was okay but, uh...
My first thought about Richter was, "huh, they added a redneck for gun discourse..."
Tumblr media
Then uh, I saw him working on his truck and uh, my second thought was, "Oh... oh, he's hot"
Tumblr media
And then immediately after my third thought was, "Shit, I have a type don't I..."

Okay, so i watched tcm 2022 again and my feelings about the first 12 minutes did not change. They still knock the wind out of me and still prevent me from properly enjoying the 2nd and 3rd act of the movie.
I wish the writers went into depth about how foster care systems could be abusive for children through that old lady instead. They could’ve made Dante an orphan or sumn, so that the issue could’ve been: Dante’s upset cus of his experience as a foster child and he doesn’t trust the lady, but it turns out she was kind to the kids. It would’ve made the issue complex instead of just making the lady racist, but a “good person.” It also would’ve given Dante any depth instead of giving him depth through racism.
Speaking of which, it still boggles my mind that they tried to ✨morally gray✨ racism. And they definitely only did it cus of the racial tensions in 2020, and that’s why the gun narrative was there too. But it’s so clunky compared to said gun narrative and it doesn’t fit the movie AT ALL so it just leaves a poor taste in my mouth that never goes away cus then they try to paint Dante as the asshole for feeling the way he did toward that lady (cus it turns out she DID own the lease to the building), but Dante had no reason to feel any different about that lady (as a black person, fuck that lady idc idc).
I wanna have a strong liking for this movie, but seeing characters that reflect me only being there to echo the writers’ centrist opinions about racism, and then having both black characters die—my feelings about this movie can only remain lukewarm. And this is rlly unprecedented for me cus i’ll defend “”bad”” horror movies with my blood.
I just wish the writers (Rodo Sayagues and Fede Alvarez) actually knew about black ppl outside of our struggles; especially since they want to dictate how blk ppl should feel in racist situations. Knowing that they’re the same writers from Don’t Breathe and Don’t Breathe 2, completely ruined the allure of those movies for me. Since I had an interest for watching them for awhile. I’ll prolly still do it, but I know it’s gonna suck, cus they’re portrayal of blk ppl WILL be racist (if there are any).
They’re’s been rumor of tcm 2022 getting sequels, and i rlly hope Rodo Sayagues and Fede Alvarez aren’t anywhere NEAR these projects.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2022 review
I recently remembered when I watched that movie and to be honest I couldn't even make it all the way to the end. I had 11 minutes left and I just couldn't handle it. I'm still gonna spoiler this just in case you want to actually watch it but I'd give it a like 3/10 if I'm being nice.
So first of all I have a hard time picking up on the tone of the movie. I know it's explicitly political, which on it's own isn't bad. Horror movies can be political and still work very well. For instance Day of the dead is a great zombie movie and it has political undertones. Get out is another great movie that it very political too. Now thinking back to it I understand they're showing the nuances of the gun debate and all of that which I think was like decent. But you have that one guy saying "try anything and you're cancelled"? I mean you can call out how people think cancel culture is an actual thing when it literally isn't but like just make it better and not super cringey.
Also them kinda implying there is nuance to the whole "Confedrate southern pride" debate with the flag hanging up there. Southern pride should be about like all the great food, the community that the south holds, activists from the south and amazing people who have done amazing things that are from the south. Not trying to defend slavery and the continuing oppression of black people in America. I think still debating about that kind of stuff is stupid when the effects of slavery are still very well felt today, which includes the slave labor of the people in the prison industrial complex. I don't want to get political on here but this movie is political and stupid so I am.
If you wanted to talk about issues that effect black people in America you could have talked about how sun down town all over the south are still very real things. Or maybe something about how liberals can and usually are just as racist as conservitives. Bring up something more realevent or like something you could educate people on.
I also understand they're trying to talk about gentrification and how it affects people. But a majority of the time it's wealthy white people displacing POC and poor people in urban areas, not annoying milennials displacing a elderly woman. I think if they wanted to talk about that they could have done it in a way better way.
Also I have a huge bone to pick with how they potrayed Bubba. Of course he's going to be killing people, that's a given. But he kills people because that's what he was raised to do and he also kills people who threaten him or his family. So killing those people in the car crash is well in character for him. But he's not going to go into a big crowd of random people. He just wants to be left the fuck alone. Also why would he take the face from the woman who took care of him for decades? I don't get that.
Another thing is I'd assume in the original Bubba is over the age of 18 because unless you're like some super human no minor is gonna be 6'6 and have the build of a chubby linebacker. So why have him stay at that house? I don't get it.
Also you build up to bringing back Sally and you just kill her within the first few minutes of their fight? I mean if you're going to kill her at least let them have a proper fight. I would have given this a better grade if they didn't kill Sally or at least gave her a better fight and a worthy kill for horrors first final girl.
But the reason I give it a three out of ten is the acting is pretty good. The actors did their best and I think they'd do great in better movies. Also the gore is great. Very gorey I do have to say but the effects aren't horrible and I hope that the sfx makeup artists work on better movies because their work looked great.

Thoughts On: Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)
- I’m putting this in the camp with the Childs Play reboot, where I think that everything that makes it a part of the series is the bad parts about it.
- I swear I’ve seen Melody’s actress somewhere before.
- Okay what is it with this new crop of movies that try to bring up racism but act like people that would encounter it have never encountered it or a surprised by it.
- Also what is it with the newer TCM movies with having Leatherface just put the skin right on his face immediately after he cuts it off.
- Also am I just really calloused or are they overreacting to that old lady dying just a little bit.
- No one tries to run past him, really.
- Yeah someone definitely watched Halloween 2018 before they wrote this
- Okay who owns a self driving car in their 20′s.
- Old Leatherface with his new mask kind of looks like the scarecrow from the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark movie.
- The TCM movies are always so hot and sweaty that seeing rain feels kind of weird.
- Okay I know that the new big trends is like, Revenge of the Final Girl, but Sally Hardesty I’m sorry to say it just isn’t iconic like Laurie or Nancy. (Now im kind of waiting for a Revenge of The Final Girl-ification of Nightmare on Elmstreet. Would be cool  to see it for Friday the 13th with Tommy Jarvis Too)
