18"x24", mixed media
Black Jack by Osamu Tezuka was first serialized November 19th, 1973 in the Weekly Shonen Champion. It was supposed to be a short-lived little last hurrah for Tezuka, but ended up running for 10 more years and becoming one of the best selling manga of all time.
I am urging you now, fans of Black Jack, Tezuka, and everyone else reading this to please donate to the Palestinian Red Crescent.
The manga follows the titular character, Black Jack, a Byronic figure and the world's best surgeon - who happens to be unlicensed. The manga is largely episodic, and each episode often offers a lesson or leaves the viewer with a moral question. Others shed more light on Black Jack's past and personality.
Black Jack is known for charging exorbitant fees, often asking his clients how much they're willing to pay for their life, their health, and that of their loved ones. He uses some of this money to fund his revenge on those who allowed for his mother to be killed by unexploded ordinance, and for himself to be gravely injured in the same blast.
As of November 2023, fifty years later, more than twice the tonnage of what was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan, has fallen on Gaza, Palestine, at the hands of Israel, and the USA, and all the world governments who lie silent and complicit. There have been direct attacks on hospitals, including the now infamous raid on Al-Shifa hospital, which resulted in the death of premature babies, among many others.
I am urging you now, fans of Black Jack, Tezuka, and everyone else reading this to please donate to the Palestinian Red Crescent, whose doctors, EMTs, and other staff put their lives on the line every single day, often themselves becoming martyrs in this historic struggle. Thank you.

Dororo fanart from last year.
Between 2021 and 2023 I drew Dororo 332 times and Hyakkimaru 318 times (more or less)
Maybe I am, indeed, insane

Today is the 50th anniversary of the Black Jack manga created by Osamu Tezuka. I wanted to celebrate by sharing this older painting I did of Hazama Kuroo 🎊🎉
I was introduced to him when I was in high school and I still adore his design.

I just got back home from my vacation to see my Chao sofubi figure came in the mail!!
She’s so cute, and matches my Unico perfectly. They look great together in spring flowers.
