what little attention i have at the moment has been going into time after time but there's a lot of ideas constantly swirling around in my head and i've wanted a place to put some of them. shockingly, these aren't even all of my wips. yeah, i know.

this is just a snapshot of the most prominent fic ideas i've been working on at the moment which means that plots and especially titles might still get changed. also i'm not committing to any sort of schedule with these so keep that in mind :')

ghost light - lighthouse keeper!steve rogers x reader - (yeah) - this one is so random but i cannot stop thinking about it - tropes: retired!steve, maybe a little angsty but it's fine really, either writer!reader or barista!reader - status: vibes and like two paragraphs

mirror's image - endings, beginnings!frank x reader - fic based on "why'd you only call me when you're high" by the arctic monkeys - tropes: fwb, drug consumption, angst and spice, idk if this will have a happy ending or not - status: about one third done

dear heart, it's me - anthology based on the amazing devil's album "the horror and the wild" - listen for vibes 😌 - will probably posted for a milestone celebration - pairings include: stucky, bucky barnes x reader, natasha romanoff x reader, wanda maximoff x reader, jefferson x reader, steve harrington x reader (more tbd) - status: one fic stuck in revision, three more started, real excited for one additional one atm

something bout you - beloved - ngl returning to this one is probably gonna hurt but i still want it to exist - college au steve rogers x reader - this is my childhood friends fake dating au that i made up for ren - status: hopefully i will return to this one day after tat is done

I feel like if you only watched certain films and shows of Phase Four and Phase Five, these would bring great closure to the MCU overall and tie up all of Endgame’s remaining loose threads, and there wouldn’t have to be any more.

Like, if Endgame wasn’t enough and you just had to know what happened to those who were left hanging, but still wanted a firm end point of the series, you could get it.

If you watch these after Endgame in this order (minus all post-credits scenes except the reveal scene in Far From Home and all the ones from Vol. 3), it is a pretty good final conclusion to the MCU:

Black Widow (Nat’s backstory and Yelena’s search for Clint are established)

WandaVision (wraps up Wanda’s story, as she is last seen going into exile to find self-healing - and she does NOT take the Darkhold with her and her character arc is intact)

TFATWS (wraps up Sam and Bucky’s stories, Steve’s legacy is carried on)

Far From Home (continues Peter’s story)

No Way Home (wraps up the stories of all 3 live-action cinematic Spider-Men)

Hawkeye (wraps up Clint’s story, Yelena gets her closure, Kate will continue Clint’s legacy, Kingpin is dead period)

Thor: L&T (terrible film, yes, but effectively wraps up Thor and Jane’s story)

GOTG Holiday Special (establishes Quill and Mantis’ relationship)

GOTG Vol. 3 (wraps up all the Guardians’ stories)

And finally, the very last entry of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe would end it all on a high note and wrap up the last loose threads regarding timelines:

you can sing me anything [AU, 4K words, 1 chapter, Part 2 in a series, complete] - sequel to a friend of any sort, in which Bucky needs Sam to return the favor and pretend to be his boyfriend to get him out of an awkward situation (and into a better, but still kind of awkward situation). ☕😻

hiii I hope you're having a great day! I'm not kidding when I say that it took several read throughs before I sent this 😭 I was just wondering if you'd mind linking any marvel meta and critiques pertaining to civil war and the accords, endgame, tfatws, tony, peggy, and the way steve and bucky's characters were treated.

context: I'm trying to explain some things to a friend of mine, but I just know there's posts that explain it better than I can. I spent over an hour scrolling through various tags and I really struggled to find my favourites.

I hope this doesn't sound too demanding, and feel free to ignore it if you're busy or you don't want to do it. I'm honestly just hoping you have some kind of folder where you keep them all! if you do, though, I would love if you included your own posts, because yours are some of the best ones I've read.

This is my defining WTF Endgame article. I don't see how anyone can argue against it. There is no explanation or reasoning to give out to the obvious and intentional erasure of Steve and Bucky out of Endgame's story narrative and why it doesn't fucking matter if you like the ship or the characters at all, erasing them, denying it, failed the set up of the story structure and the basics of arc complete writing.

I was drawn in by it's argument on the "Bucky is alive!" moment of Endgame critic, because it highlights that the movie itself knows Stucky makes more narrative sense and importance and therefore uses it, but of course won’t let it be acknowledged. I'm being really critical of Peggy's character being so beloved lately, examining my past defense of, but I think this article is the bomb on why Endgame's Steggy is dismissive of the pairing and characters whether you like them or not. In that Karli read more villain than John Walker to me, despite show intent, and it needs massive overhaul, because it's message sucked in many many ways. And I thought Sam and Bucky did come of as morally wrong and kinda massive jerks in comparison to Walker, as did the ethics of the Flagsmashers, the Dora.

That doesn't mean I've any love or interest in the John Walker character independently, as Jessica Jones season 1 did that style story better...it's a story meh in comparison to what I want which is a focused Sam story...and I certainly have no love or respect for Zemo's addition likewise. Where to go with the Captain America stories and ethics of the characters is so f'ed right now.

My Current WIP’s!

Hi there! It hasn’t been that long since I’ve given you a WIP update, but let’s go ahead and do it now! 💖

1. Stumblin’ In (Steve Rogers X Reader): We’ve got two more chapters of TFATWS and after that, I’m planning on writing a one-shot about Steve and Booksmart’s first date after the events of Age of Ultron and then I’ll begin working on fitting our favorite couple into most of the Phase 4/5 projects (The first one up will center around Loki, so that should be nice and angsty lol).

2. Tales from the SSR/Specs and the Flyboy (Jack Thompson X Reader): I haven’t started working on this one yet, but the next one-shot in this series is going to center around Jack joining the Navy at the start of WW2!

3. Spellbinding (Loki X Reader): Again, I haven’t started on this one yet, but I’m planning out a one-shot explaining how and why the Avengers move from the Avengers Tower to the Avengers Facility in upstate New York (hint: it might have something to do with Loki and the Cosmic Sorceress, our happy newlyweds lol)

4. Taking Care of Business (Din Djarin X Reader): As you all know, I’m currently uploading chapters for this ongoing series centered around the events of Season 3, but updates might begin to slow down in a couple of weeks if I don’t find more time to write (I’m up to about halfway through Episode 6 right now, so fingers crossed!)

Phase 4 Is Almost Over And Contrary To My Initial Line Of Thought I Did End Up Watching All Of Them Somehow So Now You Get To Hear About It

I'll be talking about both the movies AND the series in order of release under the cut, the TL;DR for me is,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I don't know why everyone cares so much about if it was Good or Bad.

That might seem dumb to say on a Rating Post but I'll get to it.

WandaVision (1/15/2021)-- 9/10

I think the MCU has definitely had it's bobbles handling Wanda (even in this show) but this one actually really hit home for me. The fall/winter leading up to this show, I was actually in a pretty deeply depressive episode-- hardly able to leave my bed outside of class or speak to anyone around me in person, so even though I wasn't exactly feeling grief like Wanda was, I found her emotional arc of wanting to be In Control And Happy to at least be relatable. I do think the Agatha twist could have been handled better as far as writing goes, but I think that's mostly a flaw of the MCU formula (which you'll hear a lot in this post). I also don't think the Evan Peters of it all was anything to get that mad about, and people who were and are STILL mad about it can Submit Their Complaints To My Ask Box.

Also the final Scarlet Witch costume slapped I loved it.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier (3/19/2021)-- 7.75/10

I can't really speak to the way everything in this show was handled, given that I am white as snow, but overall, there was a lot I really liked about this one. The writing and performance for Isaiah Bradley as acted by Carl Lumbly was so intense and probably my favorite part of the show overall. My main gripe is really the handling of the Flag Smashers and the need to have Walker saving people in the final fight. I think Walker was well past the point of getting the audience on his side For One Last Go by then, and the Flag Smashers were just...so, so horribly whacked out of line with their prior depiction by the end. It just wasn't congruent.

Speaking of incongruent....

Loki Season 1 (6/9/2021)-- 6.5/10

I really wanted to enjoy Loki. Like I really did. But sitting on it for a year and a half and rewatching it, I think it was just TOO inconsistent episode to episode. There are individual MOMENTS and individual EPISODES even that I think are very good on the whole, but I think it's too obvious when different writers are taking on different characters (Mobius especially). It was a pleasant surprise to see Jonathan Majors, though, and I don't think I hated the finale as much as some other people did. I just think WandaVision did a good job deconstructing Wanda, and TFATWS did a good job deconstructing Sam's relationship to the Shield, but Loki just didn't really have a grasp on Loki as a character for me.

Black Widow (7/9/2021)-- 7/10

This movie should have been in Phase 3. Also stan Florence Pugh. That's about it.

Also if you hate what they did with Taskmaster, that's fine but it's not that deep.

What If...? (8/11/2021)-- 4.5/5

What If had some really good episodes, like Star-Lord T'Challa & Stark Saved By Kilmonger. But it also had The Zombies Episode and Captain Carter and Whatever The Fuck That Finale Was. It's more inconsistency and connecting it for the sake of connecting it and not really stopping to PLAY in the worlds they created, which was a shame, and then when they did it was,,,,,,,,,,REAL hit or miss. Mostly miss.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (9/3/2021)-- 8/10

Delicious finally some good fucking food. First, kissing Simu Liu on the mouth because he's SUCH a great leading man. Second, it felt JUST disconnected enough from the MCU while still having the canon references to feel fresh. It was still very much In-Tone with the MCU as far as humor went, but the actors really carried this to something special-- Simu, Michelle Yeoh, TONY LEUNG????? icon. Even places where the narrative was weaker were WELL compensated by the actors, enough to make me eager to see the next installment.

Eternals (11/5/2021)-- 7/10

Do I think the cast was too large, in the end? Yes. But Eternals was still so...austere in a way the MCU normally is not. It was a very different kind of movie, formulaically. Sure, Big Gray Monster, but it was very much not front and center. Centering it on Sersi and taking advantage of Gemma Chan's Pure Power was great, and I loved how the dynamics between the characters drove the story.

Also, stan Phastos.

Hawkeye (11/24/2021)-- 6/10

I would have probably enjoyed it more if Clint's character buildup wasn't so little and far apart in other MCU movies. It felt like I was SUPPOSED to be relating to this old friend's struggle with grief, but it just Did Not Hit.

I was mostly here for Vera Farmiga. Real Girlies Know.

Spider-Man: No Way Home (12/17/2021)-- 5/10

.......................No Way Home wasn't actually that good. I mean, it DOES go back and fix all my gripes with MCU Peter Parker and Zendaya sells as always and it was fun to see the old cast back. But uh. Into The Spiderverse did the multiverse thing to better effect, I think. The Audible Pause To Clap for Andrew Garfield's appearance,,,,we'll get to her later. Ultimately, I think Tom Holland is the weakest of the three Spider-Men of recent memory and it shows ESPECIALLY next to Andrew Garfield and without the background of having seen the other Spider-Man franchise incarnations, it's all that much weaker because you don't have the emotional context the film hinges on. It's fanservice for fanservice's sake. And we'll circle back to that. Also how dare you drag Matthew Catholic Sadboy Murdock into this.

Moon Knight (3/30/2022)-- 6.5/10

I hope Oscar Isaac and May Calamawy have gotten excellent treatment for carrying this show on their backs. I don't think Harrow (had to Google the character's name ffs) was strong enough to get by on Malevolent Pacifism alone, and it did just kind of Unravel at the end with the Unnecessary Big Fight & the show kind of just Stopping rather than Ending. Also, did not think it was necessary to TEASE Jake Lockley if he was just going to be in the post-credit scene. I would have rather they not bring him up at all rather than having hints so MASSIVE.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (5/6/2022)-- 3/10

When I left the theater for this movie, I didn't actually think I could hate it more than I did when it was over. Then I watched the Assembled on it. And I realized no, the depths of my hatred DO go deeper. I don't know what's worse-- the struggle of having to choose between the Wanda of WandaVision and the Wanda of the Non-D+ Series MCU and somehow choosing neither, leaving GAPING-WIDE plot holes for the sake of "having the coolest villain in the MCU instead of leaving it for the team of another Avengers movie" (Michael Waldron my detested), whatever the fuck the Illuminati was supposed to be, or bringing back Sam Raimi, who I think genuinely tried to direct something visually his own and artful, only to have him bogged down by Marvel's own capitalistic editing and filming practices. The pauses to clap for the Illuminati. How presumptuous and prideful do you have to be to include space for the audience to clap for your cameos? And I haven't even TALKED about Stephen yet, because there's almost nothing to say except it is a SECOND movie where he is implied to have to face consequences for his choices, only for none to appear because the Wider Canon demands he be fine. It is EVERYTHING the MCU is at its worst.

Not you Bruce Campbell, though, you're doing great.

Ms. Marvel (6/8/2022)-- 8/10

I think the reason Ms. Marvel ranks this well for me is not just the AMAZING attention to detail and authenticity of the creative team and Iman Vellani, but because Kamala Khan in the comics debuted when I myself was an insecure teenager writing fanfiction about my favorite superheroes and trying to survive school. I have a nostalgia for her character specifically that might bias me a little toward her show, but there was something so deeply authentic and warm about Iman's performance that I couldn't help being giddy to see her in every scene, despite the power changes and all the little things that would normally give me gripes.

Thor: Love and Thunder (7/8/2022)-- 5/10

You know that thing you do where you have two foods you really love, like, individually. Like how I like caramel and i like crawfish, which are two things that are great on their own. And then you do that thing where you go "what if I put those two things I like together!" And suddenly you're eating caramel and crawfish together and you wish you hadn't done that?

That's Love & Thunder and that's pretty much the sum of my feelings on it, if I'm honest. Like, I'm a fan of Taika's work and I like the two threads he did here separately, but not together.

She-Hulk: Attorney At Law (8/18/2022)-- 6.5/10

I could talk at length about this show and good-faith criticism and bad-faith criticism and how one can unintentionally legitimize the other, but I think to be succinct I can sum it up here by saying while I had fun, I think the show, despite the efforts of the female-centered & staffed writing room, fell into a lot of traps, like putting a lot of focus on Jen's dating life. To me that was the biggest mistake. Dating can be a very large part of people's lives, but in the show it did feel like the dating parts outweighed the legal parts, which was a shame because this show had SUCH a great cast of actors playing the other lawyers. Tatiana Maslany was great in the role, but I don't think the writing necessarily always held up to the acting, nor did the lampshading of it at the end in that VERY APPROPRIATE AND KIND OF FUN fourth wall break make up for including it in the first place.

Also Augustus Pugliese you have my heart new favorite side character unlocked.

Werewolf By Night (10/14/2022)-- 10/10

Jack Russell you are my new best friend I love spooky things I love that it was self contained I love EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS. No notes. Well done. Blade next.

In Conclusion-- 6.23/10

I think, at this point, I don't really care if MCU Secretly Bad or MCU Actually Good. I think if anything, this phase points to the overall problem for Marvel being that, for the most part, they're feeding us the same thing over and over again. To me, the projects that stuck out the most here were the ones that tried something different. WandaVision experimented with TV tropes. Werewolf By Night was a Hammer horror special.

The ones that scored lowest, however, were either full of shiny but empty distractions or just more of the same.

It's not better than before. It's not worse. You're just too used to eating the same thing.

I went on YouTube and there’s a video “Loki all magic scenes” from season 1. Guess how long the video is. From 6 episodes all roughly 45 minutes each…

Not even 3 minutes

Of Loki doing tricks and illusions. That was not what I was expecting. Given the episodes are ≈45min each. That means around 4.5 hours worth of content which is like 2 movies you could say, that is supposedly about Loki, and he only uses powers for almost 3 minutes? I just don’t get it. I was expecting so much more from this character but they purposefully rewritten him as a confused weak scrambling person because if he used his cleverness and wit to his max potential, there’s be a lot more tricks. And it would inconvenience these writers. Lol.

i mean I’d argue Loki wasn’t even in the show; we just got some rando who happened to also be played by Tom but yeah

it just really highlights how a show that was allegedly about Loki...really really wasn’t

and we have a right to be disappointed. TFATWS & WandaVision certainly had flaws but neither of them were preceded by this level of false advertising. it’s disgraceful.

FAQs

Can I play a character who isn’t in the MCU?

Marvel has a plethora of characters, many of whom have not made their cinematic debut. We allow comic characters on the site as well. You have creative freedom — all we ask is you fit them somewhere in our timeline, use a real face claim to portray them (not illustrations), and make sure they align with existing characters on the site of whom they're closely connected.

Are Disney+ and Netflix shows canon here?

If the show took place pre-Infinity War, it is considered canon on our site. Think: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D seasons 1-5 or the early seasons of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, etc. Anything that took place post-Infinity War and post-Endgame is not canon here. That includes Wandavision, Loki, TFATWS, Hawkeye, She-Hulk, etc.

Same for movies. Anything that takes place post-Endgame is not considered canon. This includes Spider-Man: Far From Home, No Way Home, Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, etc. If the movie came out post-Endgame, but the plot took place before Infinity War, it is canon. Think: Black Widow.

My character was introduced after Endgame. Can I play them?

Of course! If your character was introduced post-Endgame (read: Eternals, Shang-Chi, Moon Knight, etc), you're still allowed to bring them to Revival. Feel free to take inspiration from their source material — comic, movie, and/or show — and adapt them into our timeline. Remember you are only fitting the character's background to the timeline, not their post-canon plot events, as those did not happen in our timeline.

Can I make an original character?

Yes! You are free to create an original civilian character or an original villain character. We are not accepting original hero characters. NOTE: Your original villain character IS allowed to have powers, but they must be simple powers. We don't allow all-powerful beings like Ultron, Thanos or Kang.

Do I have to take part in subplots or site events?

Subplots are meant to give our players established plotlines to jump right into. If you already have an idea you want to explore, you're free to do so. Think of subplots as a suggestion, rather than a requirement.

There are two types of events on Revival: community events and plot events. Community events are centered around our player base. Plot events push the site's plot forward. When it comes to participating, both of these are optional. Be aware that even if you choose not to participate in plot events, it doesn't mean your character is unaffected by them.

What is the “threat” mentioned in the site plot?

In order to keep the mystery and intrigue, we've decided not to outright say what the threat is. Think of our plot as a slow burn. Clues will be revealed through future plot events. It'll all come together in its own time.

Can my character be from the multiverse?

We know the multiverse is a popular plot point for Marvel right now, however, we are not a multiversal site. We are not accepting "variant" characters nor are we exploring multiverse plots.

What if my character isn’t based in New York?

No worries! While the Compound is open for all hero characters to reside, your character doesn't have to live or even operate out of New York for them to be accepted on the site. We welcome plotting in all parts of the world or the wider galaxy (looking at you, Guardians). Just note that the majority of our subplots and events take place in New York, so while your character does not need to live in the Big Apple, they must be able to travel there.

Actually I think everyone just forgot Loki is super strong. Going over the whole series I think think the forgot Loki and by extension Sylvie are way stronger than normal humans. That was a thing on AoS where Lorelei was a power house on earth but easily taken down by Sif. Really Sylvie didn't need to suddenly have telekinesis by the end she should of been able to just chuck that table on her own

She should be able to toss that table with her superstrength but I guess it looks cooler if she uses telekinesis.

What bothers me is that for 6 episodes we see her only enchanting people,nothing else. And in finale she suddenly shoots energy blasts (at Loki!!!!!) and she is telekinetic. Where, when and how she unlocked new powers?

Some bitch dared to tell me she got inspired by classic Loki when our Loki said we are stronger than we realize. Ok. But is she the only one who unlocked new magic? What about Tom's Loki? We've been waiting 10 years for him to show magic and when there is finally a chance, this new bitch that came only 6 weeks ago gets it???

This is reason any excuses fans have are ridicilous.

"Its a set up". What set up? After 10 years, 6 movies and a series Loki must still wait for a set up? But Sylvie a new character doesnt.

"Sylvie was inspired by Classic Loki". Then why wasnt Tom's Loki?

"There is still season 2" This is my favourite one. If there is still season 2 and Loki "has time" to show magic,so did Sylvie. Why did she unlock it already? And TFATWS and WV had only 1 season,yes,but stories of Sam and Wanda did not end with their shows. Sam is new Cap, gonna have his own movie, and Wanda could have unlock new powers in MoM. By this logic, they also had time.

Excuses,excuses. Its been 11 years, 1 series and 6 movies. By now any reason Loki doesnt show magic isnt a reason. Because after such a long time there is not 1 reason he should not show it or hide it. Magic or strength.

Its excuse.

And these excuses come from his fans, who just few weeks before Loki series cheered when Sam got new costume & few months before celebrated Wanda becoming the most powerful bitch.

But when Loki stays weak...excuses why its ok.

Might be because they truly dont care about him? Cos as long as he is alive screw he is turned into weak idiot.
